Background


The gift of Elvish seed.... and his mother had received it unwillingly.



She had been raped before, you see, but on this night her attacker had left the departing gift of child in her belly. Some time later, her bastard son was born and she named him Tháron.



She loved the child well enough, and cared for him as mothers do... but when she passed away it was Tháron's siblings that took care of him. His two elder sisters had taught him the bow, the hunt... and most importantly, how to survive.



Many years had passed since his mothers death, and yet he did not age as his sisters did... when they too returned to the earth, it seemed queer how his youth remained.



Still. That was a very long time ago.






Personality Traits


Tháron is not quick to anger, but where his diplomacy lacks punch... his skill with the bow does not.

Tháron adores the wilderness, and favours the company of animals to that of men.

The respect for his sisters has left Tháron unable to stand distasteful actions toward women.

-Divine Sense-

  • Action:You know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type, but not identity. You also detect any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated. You can use this 1+Cha Mod per long rest.


-Lay on Hands-

  • Action:Gain a pool of Healing power that replenishes every long rest. Contains Paladin Level*5 hit points of heal. Touch creature and draw from pool to restore up to remaining power in pool. You may spend 5 points to cure on disease or one poison.


-Fighting Style-

  • Protection: When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on that roll. Must be wielding a shield.


-Spellcasting-

  • Up to Cha Mod+ 1/2 of Paladin level (round down) of spells prepared.

It was raining.


Why was it always raining?


Syboden huddled under a tarp slung over a rope, forming a crude tent. Droplets pattered off the taut surface in an unceasing drum. Abnormally tall for a tiefling (she stood almost 6'3"), Syboden was often grateful that she was a sound sleeper. She could curl into a ball and pass out almost instantly, and lay unmoving until morning. It helped prevent wet awakenings, not having to stretch out and expose either toes or horns to the rain. The fire at her feet hissed and sputtered. The wizard couldn't remember how long she had been on the road. Years, many long years, spent wandering. Nearing her 37th year, she estimated she had spent at least a full half her life on the road. Syboden had itchy feet, so her mother had said, and would never be happy sitting in one place for long. It was true that she endured the suffering of the journey with relatively good humor. All she truly wanted in this world was a new view and a full stomach, and wandering up and down the country never failed to provide one of those. For the latter, well, Syboden could always stop in some inn and play her lute and sing for a meal, or perform some simple tricks for coin. Especially in the small towns, wizards were rare enough that even the most minor illusions and spells earned her a fair amount of praise.


Now, it did sometimes cause a spot of trouble, her being a tiefling. Always there were those who eyed her horns like she had come to gore them on them. Syboden had long gotten used to the stares, often accusatory, that she received. Downside of small towns - superstitious hillbilly idiots. Luckily, Syboden had something of a gilded tongue, and could usually charm or lie her way into most anyone's good graces.


Shivering, the mage reached under her voluminous robes until she felt a warm squirming. Her familiar, Flappy. Syboden extracted the little bat with a smile, rubbing it between its ears with a thumb. The creature squeaked excitedly, clinging to its masters hand with sharp little claws. Peering into the relentless storm, Syboden alternated feeding her pet a roasted cricket and tossing one into her own mouth. The two companions stared out into the night, contemplative. Somewhere a bit further down this road was civilization. There Syboden would find food, supplies, work, and perhaps a bit of trouble. It had been a while since she had found any kind of fun trouble...

@Primordial Primrose we have already begun a boss fight here calculated for thr party present. If you want to join we can place your character in the town of Inju to the north of where the party is now. They may be heading there next if they follow the guides instructions. (Though they are not at all forced to travel this way)


Mean while I will try to make time to look over your character sheet. Im out of town so I dont have my reference books but I may end up at the comic shop later. I can use theirs. Stats look a bit off. Minimum stat is 8 and maximum stat is 15 (before racial bonus and possible stat buffer taken at level 4, if you dont take a feat.) You have a 20 and a 6 on your sheet.
 
Ok. I just rolled up some stats and they came out as 17,17,16,15,14,6; then after racial it bumped up to the higher version of stats, and then I used the 4th level adjustments to bring it up further. As far as I knew, there was no such limitation, but if you wish, I will bring them to rein. Were we supposed to be using a point-buy system? I was unaware of it, and could fix it with relative ease.


Okay, I looked it up with my copy. The maximum/minimum setup which you referenced is found on page 13 bottom-left column. It says that when you use the variant point-buy system, that there is that range of 8-15 points of stats, but it doesn't say that this limitation applies to the rolled up version.

Point buy s what we are using, and we use the rolling system on this site, no others for sake of keeping cheaters under wraps, if you did in fact roll the stats here best yea linked said roll to yer post to prove you did indeed get such a high roll, this is not a attack, this is a statement of unwritten rules.


I'm not being that guy, just have to say it since we're all bound by the same rules.

I will make some purchased stats soon. Thank you for the clarification, I didn't notice that there was any distinction, my bad. I will fix this. Here is the modified "character sheet." A note for your concern, @Grimsvald the 18 is from both an intelligence boost from being a gnome, and the level 4 ability boosting. Is this modified version better? {/side}

Here is the modified version. It has an 18 there in intelligence because of being a gnome and from the level 4 adjustments.

Yeah it looks better. Cant read it over in depth right now. I will be in the hospital for about 2 more days with my pregnant wife due to complications. I will post when/if I can.
