Bloodmoon

A man that looked to be in his mid-twenties walked through a long hallway that ran under two tiered house. Ever person had secrets to keep, and even though he lived in a community that liked to put their secrets on display, almost going so far as to put a neon sign above them. He preferred to keep his secrets, just that, secret. Down below this house of his there were many sounds that echoed throughout the hall that seemed to go on forever. Growls, screams, and howls. The man lived with four other people, all of his species. Though they all differed from him.

"Dimitri, when are you letting me the f*** out of here?" A distressed voice came, calling from his right. Dimitri paused in his gait for only a moment, turning to look at what looked like a blank, brick wall to the naked eye. He waved his hand, showing a disfigured face, with an odd looking jaw, massive cheekbones, a wolfish nose, and golden brown eyes. It was apparent to Dimitri that he was just coming out of his form for the night. He took in a deep breath, smelling all four of the men and woman that he lived with, smelling that they were all transformed back, or at least in the process of doing such.

"You may leave now," he turned his face towards the hallway, taking in a chestful of air before speaking next. "But none of you may leave this house!" He yelled, his strong, masculine voice echoed through the hall as he snapped his fingers, seeing that four of the five doors that were hidden opened up. He blinked and there were four people in front of him. They looked fully human except for their eyes, which were still in the throes of the wolf.

"If you leave the house, I will kill you," he growled before continuing on his way. He heard the nearly silent sound of padded feet hitting the floor, then the slamming of the door that led upstairs, then they were gone, leaving him alone.

Just a few moments later he came to the door that he wanted. He was the only one in the pack that was allowed to keep a human slave, and he treated her quite well. There was something different about this human, and he was still trying to gather what that was. He slowly opened the door, finding the young woman sitting on her bed, staring straight at his with those dark gray eyes of her. He let a small smile spread across his face, showing canines that were just a bit too long to be a humans.

"Good morning Brynn. I hope that the others didn't keep you awake," he was being pleasant this morning, something that wasn't very rare, but Brynn would know that she wouldn't want to ruin this good mood. Dimitri could still see the bruises that he had left on her arms by grabbing onto it entirely too tightly when she tried to run from him.

@November Rain

(ohmygoodness, I love your writing- it's the best I've seen in quite some time. :3 I do hope this is a good return-hopefully it doesn't disappoint. ^^)

Echoes could be heard faintly from behind the closed door, and the footsteps of various people pattered down the hall. Brynn wasn’t interested. It happened frequently, and the noise was common. She’d long gotten accustomed to the bizarre happenings under this roof, and wasn’t about to question anything. It would only cause more trouble, and simply give her a headache. To pass the time, she looked around her room, as she’d done so many times before.

The room was sparsely furnished, even with the small bed she sat on currently. It was decent, considering her position in the household, and she was in no position to complain. There was a small chair to the left of the bed, and a desk nearby. A small rug carpeted the floor beside the bed. The other things that decorated the room were her belongings. Shoes, clothing, and a few items of value.

Brynn fiddled with the sheets, before hearing the door click. She knew who was coming. She looked up, her eyes meeting his, but only just. Some slaves weren’t permitted to, and she wasn’t about to test how far her boundaries were. Her face remained impassive, even as he smiled. She would be lying to say she wasn’t afraid. After so long she still was apprehensive near him, though she would never say. Brynn was certain he could probably tell though, by the minute details betrayed through her actions.

“Good morning,” she replied evenly, not wanting to say more. He was in a good mood, and though she was in no mood to upset him, nor did she feel like obeying his every whim. Last night had been enough. She would wait. Wait, and hope he’d forget, so that she might try again. She looked away, busying herself with fiddling with the sheets.

Dimitri's golden brown gaze stared straight into her eyes, challenging her. She knew to look away as a sign of respect. Dimitri himself was perfectly fine with meeting the Humans eyes, but the thing he shared a body with liked to tear things apart that challenged him, and he desperately didn't want to tear this one apart. The last slave that he had owned was an attractive male, with a insubordinate streak. Dimitri couldn't control his other side, and he had ripped him to pieces. Granted, Dimitri had not been too broken up over it, he had wanted to get a female slave anyway. They smelled a lot nicer.

Brynn had a slight streak of insubordination, but it was nowhere near as bad as the last slave he had purchased.

"Brynn, you may move back to your upstairs bedroom. I think that you have been punished for long enough," his smile seemed genuine, and that it was. She had two bedrooms, both were fairly decent, though her upstairs bedroom had windows, and a much better bed. He went to the clothes rack and grabbed everything hung there, and then nodded to the rest of the room. "Please get the rest of your things and move upstairs," he said, disappearing in a flash. Just two minutes later he returned, seeing Brynn collecting her things.

"Remember, this was a very small punishment for what you did. There is another room I could have moved you to..." he trailed off for a moment, his eyes becoming unfocused. "A room that would have given you nightmares for years to come," he shook his head before grabbing a few more of her things. "Come along," he said gruffly before turning away from her and heading up the stairs.

Brynn kept her gaze a second longer, wanting to make it know she wasn't giving in, before turning away. It was too early in the morning for confrontations and arguments. She knew how those always ended, and they usually weren't happy endings, either. Dimitri could be.. unpredictable at times.

Upon him addressing her, she stood up silently, nodding. She headed first for her items of value; those she didn't want him touching, even if helping her move was a thoughtful gesture. These she could gather in her arms, and as she was doing so, Dimitri came back, having placed all her belongings back where they originally were, with inhuman speed. It always startled her how quickly he could accomplish things, and she often forgot to factor his speed in when maneuvering around him. At the forefront was always his strength, and volatile temper.

Ah, yes, the other room. Brynn pushed the thought from her mind, instantly shying away from the thought. She'd never done anything bad enough to warrant being placed there, but she'd heard enough about it to be cautious. She hated obeying orders, but had enough sense to not push her limits beyond what they were. It really was a nice punishment, she supposed, as she mulled over his words. Many of Dimitri's race were much less forgiving..

She carried what little items she'd gathered outside into the hall with her, cradling them in her arms. Dimitri had already started his way up the stairs. Brynn glowered at his back for the briefest of seconds before reluctantly dragging her feet one step at a time after him. Slowly, very, very slowly.

Dimitri heard her slow steps on the hard, cold floor. He turned suddenly, a small snarl on his face. "Why do you act like this? I have treated you far better than most would, your little highness." He sneered at her for just a moment before looking like he had received a slap on the face. His eyes widened, an odd colour shift happening in his eyes before he shook his head roughly. He looked apologetic to her for a moment before turning again and going up the stairs.

"Pick up the pace," he said curtly before continuing on his walk up the stairs, his shoulders tense, not looking back at her. He hated it when that happened. Ever since he was born he had to wage a battle within himself to keep something caged, something hidden. Something that made his a freak of nature. His kind were very very rare, and he didn't want it getting out that he was different from the others, otherwise his simple life could go up in flames. He enjoyed his life as it was, and didn't wish it to end. He was the alpha of a moderately sized pack, with a lovely servant, and a cozy, two tiered house. Three if you counted the basement. Some called it the dungeon area, but he found that much too...vulgar. He preferred basement.

Brynn followed him up to the second floor of the house, the floor that was warded against humans so that they couldn't leave without the presence of their Supernatural master with them. That way, Dimitri didn't feel like he had to chain her up to keep her there. The Humans may view all Supernatural creature cold and heartless beasts, and that may be true for some, it wasn't true for her. He heard the sound of clattering in the kitchen, and knew that he would have to make a run to the store before the day was out. The day after the full moon was always a tough one for the food pantry.

"Would you care for something to eat, Brynn?" He asked, setting her things on a beautiful desk. The room was rather nice, just as the rest of the house was. It was customary to keep your slave in the basement, but he had never followed that custom, preferring to make their lives just a bit easier. He still didn't even know why he had gotten her. She didn't do much, and he didn't make sexual advances on her...at least, not yet. The others in the household had, but Dimitri had always protected her. Intercourse with a half breed werewolf was likely to end in tears.

Shock froze Brynn to her spot right before she took another step. The outburst, however brief it was, still scared her, badly. Werewolves, as she knew, were more temperamental than the average human, but though years had gone by, there never went a day in her life where she wasn't taken by surprise by it. Dimitri's face had been odd, too, she noticed. It had changed, almost as quickly as his anger had come and gone. He must have heard her. There was no way he could have seen her. Or at least, if he had, he probably would have been much angrier.

Brynn stayed put. She closed her eyes, willing her heartbeat to slow down, and her frustration and anger to quell. Much as she would love to shoot back a stinging comment, she knew it wouldn't be a prudent decision. And especially not after he'd been so angry. Ungrateful? Perhaps. But she had a right to be sulky every now and then; no one liked being locked away. She sighed, but opened her eyes and followed him up the stairs anyways. Back up the stairs to her room, and prison.

It was true, she was given much more liberties and freedom than the average slave, and her quarters were extremely well furnished. And, Dimitri took pains to care for her, though whether for her sake or merely out of protection of property, she didn't know. But Brynn didn't care. She could only sit near the stairs and watch, watch as people came and left, knowing she couldn't, at least, not without Dimitri.

She shook her head, in answer to his question. "No, thank you. Do you have anything for me to do today?" Life carried on, however, and there usually was much for her to do.

Dimitri seethed with anger at this slave girl. Could she not understand what she could have been through if she had been taken by another one of his kind? Did she not understand? He was tempted to show her the harsh reality of what she would be facing were she under another's control, but he stayed his hand. If she kept up with this attitude, he would show her. Hopefully that would give her some clarity on her situation. She was treated like a princess compared to other slaves. He only treated her wrongly when his wolf was trying to take control, or if she was being a little prick, like she normally was.

"Yes, my bedroom could use some tidying up, and I am sure the other residents would like something better to eat, so I would appreciate it if you would use the upstairs kitchen and cook them a nice and hardy meal?" He never really ordered her, it was more a request. His eyes were fluttering with colour, shifting between two colours. He did not know that Brynn could see it, and he did not bother to cover it up. Something had his wolf on edge today, and he would have to figure out what that was. On days like this, he found it better to leave the house entirely and go for a jog in the woods. The spring had just took a turn from pleasantly cool to pleasantly warm, and he really enjoyed it.

"After you are done with your chores, if you would like you could join me for a jog on the trail in the woods. I know how much you like getting out of the house," Dimitri never understood why he felt the need to be nice to her. Rightfully he should be beating her with a whip with how insolent she was. Like a spoiled child. He hated spoiled children... He violently shook his head, trying to calm his wolf.

"On second thought, never mind. I would prefer to be alone," he made his way to the door and disappeared in an instant. Just a few seconds later there was the sound of the front door opening and closing, then only the sound of clattering and crunching came from the house.
