Blood poisoning (closed. if many are inteeested we can try a group. just shoot a pm)

Johnny R McAvery

Magic still exist for those willing to see.
It all started 10 years ago, but it had moved slow at first. Almost unseen by those who changed into a wolf.  A virus had been born. It didn't kill the werewolves, it did however make them go insane. It made them berserk. They lusted after raw meat and blood from humans and from other wolves. A code that was never broken, or so it seemed unless someone paid attention to history. This had happened before, it was how the old myths and legends had started. The madness had returned but no one knew why. Now the madness, or rather the berserker virus has become noticed by a few packs. a trend emerged on how it was transmitted. The werewolves now must fear exposure and possibly the entire race may face extermination.

So that's the back story to this. I'll be posting my bios up in just a few moments. I have them saved else where and need to add more characters in. you are free to make as many characters you want that are important to the storyline, and even those that are just background characters for mild interactions.

Things you need to know about the Pack.

They live in a nice, big, yet old house out in the woods. They have about 200 acres to themselves to run about without having to worry about other humans. The woods have plenty of game for them, a stream, nice big trees to keep them in the shade, and they get to experience all the seasons of the year. Let's say they live in Missouri, cause why not. I just choose a random state.

So there is one alpha, Two Betas, and any number of Deltas and any number of Omegas.

⇢ The Story:

♛   There's nothing much to tell about Joel's story. He was born like this, grew up with the genetic traits of a werewolf past down from his great-great grandfather who apparently made some sort of deal with the devil. Luckily for Joel his parents didn't really seem to care what he was and loved him no matter his sexual orientation or supernatural race.  When he was 18 he set out to make a life of his own and has been with Nick and his pack ever since.

⇢ The Extra:

  •  Joel has a puppy named Wolf. *as seen in picture*
  • He has a passion for painting and drawing

As normal Nick woke up about 5 in the morning and headed upstairs to the kitchen. His bedroom was in the basement as he was afraid of heights, plus the basement also had its own bathroom, which was a plus as he was always the first one up every morning and it prevented him from accidently waking anyone up in the morning. Once in the kitchen he began opening the refrigerators, yes plural. The pack to have two full fridges and a massive freezer as everyone lived in the large house. With every pack member having a job it was easy to make payments and left everyone with plenty of pocket money. He began setting out various breakfast foods on the counter and the table and began cooking breakfast for everyone. He enjoyed breakfast and cooking it for everyone. Plus it gave him some time to wake up before going in for work at the history museum. He was a part of the day security and to prevent himself from eating extra junk food he ate at home, not that his metabolism would have had any problems with burning all the calories that the outside vending machine contained in it.

Soon the sound sizzling bacon filled the kitchen and biscuits were cooling on the counter. On the table already sat grits, toast, jellies, jams, butter, a toaster with a pack of frozen waffles and syrup, cereal, and soon the bacon along with eggs would be added to it. Nick wasn't sure how he had gotten it so right but the pack was always full after eating breakfast and no food was leftover for waste. Which was good as the only thing that reheated worth a damn was leftover sausages. He was just about to start on the eggs when the front door opened. He listened to the foot steps and identified them as Thorne's.

"Thorne! Come on in. Breakfast is about ready." Said Nick his eyes still focused on the eggs making sure to not over cook them.

A few second later Throne came in looking tired, but happy with himself. Thorne was wearing junk clothes and was covered in spray foam, silicone, and dirt. He had been out in the garage the entire night working on a cage.

"New cage?" Nick asked as he brought over the plate of eggs and set them down before pouring himself a hot cup of tea.

"Yeah. One of the ladies Tiana works with commissioned it. She just wants something pretty and tropical to look at. The dirt is on the walls now. All i'll have to do is add plants to it now." Thorne made bioactive enclosures. Small terrariums, sometimes large ones, that looked as though they had come from nature. Reflecting places like the rain forest with bright and beautiful plants. Thorne kept various reptiles, amphibians, and even a few arachnids. All of them were in these set-ups. The biggest advantage to these was that these enclosures never needed to be cleaned. They cleaned themselves using various small insects.

"Cool. I'll make sure to look at it before it leaves. Go ahead and eat. I imagine the others will be up in just a few minutes. Tiana will probably be the last up, she worked late last night." Said NIck as he finally sat down and began towering food on his plate and had his bottle of hot sauce next to him.

She hit the floor with a loud thunk. A groan slipped past her lips as the world spun for a few seconds. Various types of blankets were woven around her, keeping Elira from instantly getting up. The hardwood floor was uncomfortable but she laid there all the same. Disgusted at the thought of waking up sooner than she needed to. Falling off the bed in the morning was starting to become a nasty habit. The nightmares from the night before would make it seem impossible for sleep to come, so she'd lay awake half the night just trying to remember what had originally kept her up to begin with.  When she finally fell asleep she would just roll off the bed to wake up anyway. It was an exasperating cycle that had been going on for months now. Curling into a ball of blankets, she wished for the pull of sleep to take her away.

Elira's stomach growled in protest, smelling the beauty of bacon as the scent infiltrated her consciousness. Damn that man and his cooking skills. She thought briefly, struggling to untangle herself in the process of getting up. Shuffling towards the door, she let the smell guide her towards the bathroom only to pause at the closed door. She wasn't about to go downstairs in her pajamas with hair sticking out in all sorts of ungodly ways. Nick would have a field day and she wasn't sure she wanted to give him more joke ammunition.

"You're going to have to wait, sweetie!" Joel's voice drifted from behind the door before she even had the chance to knock. A growl erupted from her chest not even bothering to disguise her annoyance. "Well hurry up will you!? Some of us don't need to put seven different products in our hair! And open a window for fucks sake I smell that shit from here!" She croaked, cerulean eyes glaring daggers at the wooden door. Joel's laughter floated after her as she stomped her way into  her bedroom. To say she wasn't a morning person would have been the biggest understatement ever. Elira changed out of her sleeping shorts and loony-toons shirt in favor of some black jeans and a white shirt that had 'star wars' sprawled across her chest. Untangling her hair without the bathroom mirror was a bit of a challenge, but after a few minuets she figured it looked good enough. Grumbling to herself, she made her way downstairs and into the large kitchen. Elira was greeted with Nick cooking and Thorne sitting at the island counter with some eggs.

"Morning Green Bean." She yawned with a tired smile towards Throne, opening one of the refrigerators for a much craved glass of orange juice. Her attention slowly slid over towards Nick and then towards the bacon behind him. "Good morning, my love. How I missed you." Elira said longingly, grabbing the piece of bacon that she had been speaking to.

"I thought you were up." Said Nick smiling widely. "I heard the Imperial March when your feet hit the floor." He moved out of her way a little to let her get to the bacon. "You know whats good about breakfast? No vegetables are served with it, or rather aren't needed. The glory of bacon that unites people of the world is here." He spread a jalapeno jelly on a slice of toast and crammed it into his mouth. Then with his mouth full of he attempted to talk "Shnhnfpswfp jdcsoflij" He was trying to ask if anyone knew what the weather would be like for the day.

"Honestly Nick we have gone over this." Yawned Tiana as she came into the kitchen  he hand on her head scratching an itch. "No talking with food in your mouth. It's terrible manners, but maybe it's just that they didn't cover that in Norway you nerd." She smiled to show that she was teasing before sitting down. Unlike Nick who had a pile of food on his plate she carefully served herself and had her plate organized and neat, looking like a proper set of proportions. She was a little health conscience but not because she was worried about putting on weight, a fat werewolf didn't exist. She was instead worried about balanced nutrients and when she cooked dinner on the days it was her turn to cook she had a balanced meal planned, and normally a salad of some sort would be served, luckily for Nick she always made sure to bring peppers for him to add to his salad.

Thorne had nodded at the Green Bean comment. It didn't bother him to be called that, mostly because he liked green beans, especially the ones that had been lightly sauted in salt, keeping a rich crisp texture. Then there was his vegetable garden he tended to, the food going to the pack and the tortoises he kept. He enjoyed the company of his animals and did a lot with them when he wasn't working at the hardware store. "Morning Elira did you sleep well?"

Danny and Sam were a tangled mess when the alarm went off and Danny was the first one to cut it off. "Come on Sam. Get up. They'll eat all the eggs if we sleep in too late again." She gave Sam a sharp poke in the ribs and Sam jolted upright.

"I swear if they eat all the eggs i'll saw off the legs off their chairs." Said Sam as she quickly got out of bed and slipped on a pair of pants and a shirt.

Danny was about to head out to the Kitchen in the nude before Sam stopped her. "Clothes. I don't need you spilling hot food on yourself. Nudity wasn't an issue in the pack. They had all been naked in front of each other countless times when they shifted to and from their wolf states. For the pack being naked in front of each other was just as normal as them wearing clothes.

Elira narrowed her eyes at Nick, the piece of bacon crammed in her mouth made her look like a chipmunk. He always had a joke about everything didn't he? Shuffling over to the coffee pot in the corner she waited for a cup to brew. Watching her lifeblood trickle slowly into the gigantic cup was pure torture. Then she'd have to wait longer to poor it into a thermos to take to work. She squatted so that she was level with the counter, staring at the coffee maker as if that would make it brew any faster. She leaned her cheek on the cool white marbled graniet, sighing longingly. She rolled her eyes at Nick's garbled words, not having to turn around to know that he was trying to speak with his mouth full again. The dweeb. She smiled absently, resuming her intense glaring contest with the coffee pot. She sent an absent wave towards Tiana from her place near the floor, hearing her enter the kitchen to playfully scold Nick.

"As well as I have for the past month or so." She retorted dryly, but didn't say anything more than that. The pack didn't know about the nightmares and she would rather keep it to herself. Her expression sobered slightly, counting the russet drips as they mixed into the swirl of almost black liquid. Elira had been drinking more and more coffee lately, which probably wasn't the smartest thing given that she was eccentric to begin with and the coffee just seemed to make her more so.

"Is she really staring at the coffee again?" Joel muttered, strolling into the already lively kitchen with an arched eyebrow. He had caught sight of the top of his friend's head upon entering and had only assumed that was what he was doing. He rubbed the back of his neck, grinning widely. "Good morning everyone." He mused, snatching a plate with some toast and eggs. He buttered his toast, looking at Tiana. "I don't know how you do it, Sweetie." He chuckled gesturing to her overly organized plate. Joel, like many of the others just putt heaps of food wherever it fit on his plate. Sometimes it was a wonder how she even managed to keep her food choices balanced so neatly.

Jon had woken up late and was now scrambling around the room he shared with his brother in a hurry to get dressed. He was working towards his law degree at the local college and was hoping to finish with high marks. Being a werewolf had really changed his life around, if it hadn't been for that witch he most likely would have been dead in a ditch somewhere. His brother on the other hand hadn't really changed much, he was still a scumb-bag but at least he had the decency to try and be a better person. Wolves without packs didn't get very far anyway, they rarely even survived on their own. Jon ran into the kitchen, in the process of buttoning up his shirt. "Morning!" He called, grabbing a few pieces of toast he glanced over at Joel who shot him a cheeky grin.

"Late?"

"Very." Was his reply, almost tripping over Elira as he grabbed a few pieces of bacon. "Thanks for cooking Nick." He said hurriedly before whisking himself out the door.

Danny and Sam made it to the table and began dumping food on their plates. Each making sure they got their equal share of eggs. "So Jon already left? Nerd." Said Danny smiling as she filled her fork with the eggs and stuffed it in her mouth. "He should do something more fun than studying law books. You know one time I couldn't fall asleep so I took one of his textbooks to read. You know to help me fall asleep. Well I didn't get past the first page."

Sam sighed, she had been the one to return the book before Jon went insane searching for it. "Yes I know. I'm sure he feels the same way about owner manuals for cars. You're the only person I know who collects them."

"If we took the time to read his car manual he wouldn't need me to look at it all the time." Said Danny after swallowing.

Nick just laughed. "All of you are just mad that I have the coolest job. I get to work security at the museum. So easy and in air conditioning." He was hit by a piece of flying toast that Danny had thrown. The piece of toast landed on the floor and Nick just shrugged before picking it up and eating it. "Thank you. I wanted that piece."

Tiana gave a face of disgust. "Nick floor food isn't good for you. You're asking to get sick." It was unlikely for wolves to get sick, they had a strong immune system but years of studying medicine had Tiana conditioned to treat everyone as if they had weak immune systems. "Well I'm off for till about noon and I work till midnight, so someone else will need to cook dinner. Nick isn't allowed to cook. Last he made dinner he made that awful chilli, I swear the spoons melted.

Sam looked at the clock and began cleaning up her spot. She wasn't big into eating breakfast and had only really eaten the eggs and toast. "Well it's time for me to get going as well."She gave Danny a kiss on the forehead and put her plates in the sink. "I'll cook tonight though. I'm think i might make one of my mother's recipes but I haven't decided. Stay sane at work Tiana. We don't need you ripping someone's head off because they ate food off the floor." She was teasing, which she rarely did as she never had anything witty to say.

Joel shook his head listening to the banter. He placed his empty plate in the sink glancing at the clock. He was a painter and made his living off of selling pieces of art to people or being commissioned for jobs like painting murals in public places. This morning he had to drop off a painting that someone in town had ordered.

"I'll be off as well I think. I've got some errands to run." He mused, following Sam out secretly hoping to hitch a ride. He never got his drivers license and walked everywhere but lugging paintings around on foot was just a pain.

Elira made a noise as the coffee finished brewing, pouring herself a large cup. She moved to grab a piece of toast, stuffing it in her mouth as she waved goodbye. Her face scrunched into slight disgust watching as Nick ate the piece of bread that had fallen to the floor. "Yeah I'm sure all those display cases need constant surveillance. Never know when the T-Rex will come to life." She quipped, taking another sip of her coffee.

Tino was the last to enter the kitchen, dressed and ready for the day. His brown eyes moved around the room, smiling easily. "Hola! Buenos dias." He mused taking a moment to grab the last bit of eggs and some slices of bacon. He paused, seeming to translate something in his head. "Jon leave already?" He asked which was confirmed by Elira's vigorous nod. Tino smirked, openly checking out the people in the room as he seemed to do so every morning. It was part of his personality but it still gave Elira the creeps.

"Mirando hermosa como siempre, Danny." He chuckled, digging into his food. Tino owned a bar in the center of town and was normally there early to make sure everything was ready for when it got busy at night.

"Stuff it Tino. You won't be getting any ladies like that. Do you think Sam said that to me?" Asked Danny. She hated being hit on by guys, or well anyone really. She had her mate, she was complete. She knew that her and Sam would never stop being together. It wasn't one of those hopeless romantic sort of things. Any wolf bonded with another had that connection, had that feeling. Once a wold was mated they stayed mated till death.

"Hey. Low blow. You know we don't have science stuff in there. We are above that. No dinos. No skeletons. Only really cool and old weapons, and machines. Speaking of there is a rumor they are bringing some viking stuff in. Oh man am I going to put everyone to shame." Said Nick happily. He was hoping that if all went well he could get a promotion  to teaching some of the history, to be one of the tour guides there. He knew everything about all the pieces on display, and even some on the pieces in storage.

Sam was about to get into her car when she saw Joel. "Get in. I can take you as far as the campus. If you are willing to wait 2 hours I'll take you to where ever you are heading," She didn't mind giving him a ride at all. "So what painting is it?" He opened the back seat of her car so he could put whatever he needed to in the back. The front seats had next to no leg room.

Letting out a big yawn Thorne looked up the clock. "I shouldn't have stayed up that late.... I'll be going to bed early tonight. Nick are we planning a run tonight?"

"Not tonight, but I was thinking of one this weekend. Maybe we'll hunt down a deer and eat it." Answered Nick. He was about to add more when his phone went off. He quickly answered it and after a few minutes of talking hung up. "Well the museum needs me. The line was bad, so it was head office. I think someone called out sick. I'll text everyone if I'll be home late. You losers have fun."

Tino shrugged, a carefree expression on his face. He rubbed his jaw absently, pausing between her words and his retort. "They were probably dirtier things no?" He chuckled, winking at Danny. He didn't mean anything by it all of course, Coming between Mates was a sure way to get yourself killed. Or severely maimed. Even if he was newer to the supernatural life than most of his pack mates, Tino wasn't stupid enough to fuck with the hierarchy. If there was one thing the con artist had learned on the streets it was boundaries.

"Oh, I have no doubts on that Thunder God." Elira teased Nick with a cheeky grin. She took a casual slip of her coffee watching the man out of the corner of her eye. It always made her a bit happier to see that adorkable look on his face when he spoke about something he enjoyed. She only wished that she enjoyed her own job that much. It was bad enough that she had the boss from hell, but her coworkers usually seemed to suck the life from her soul. Sometimes she wondered why she just didn't quit. Then she would remember how fun it was to bake ridiculous varieties of diabetes inducing sweets. Turning, she started to fill the sink with water determined to waste as much time as she possibly could. The young woman was already late to work so being a little extra late wouldn't hurt anything. Besides it wasn't like the little bakery was going to miss her. They were almost never busy on weekdays.

"Thank goodness. Girl I will wait six hours if it means I don't have to walk all the way into town with this big thing." He chuckled, putting the rather large painting in the back seat. Joel wandered to the front passenger seat and got in giving Sam a grateful smile. "It's a simple painting of a memory. My client wanted a picture of her dog running on the beach painted and well, you know how I feel about dogs." He mused, pulling his seat belt across his body before clicking it into place.

Tino wiggled his eyebrows at Nick, slipping an arm around Elira who was scrubbing the living heck out of one of the plates. "There will be no shortage of 'fun', si?" His tone seemed to deepen with the allusion to what kind of fun he was actually talking about. Azure eyes snapped to Tino's face, her face heating up in what was either embarrassment or anger. A scolding sensation slit up his arm and he yelped, pulling away from her quickly. He rubbed his arm with a pout, holding back his own outburst at the burn that was slowly healing on his arm. "Why are you always so mean to me, mi amor?" He questioned, adding a plate to the pile. "Go sit on a cactus, Tino." Was her only reply, finally managing to turn to Nick. Her anger dissipated slightly but she kept the irritated look on her features. "I'll pretend I didn't hear that loser comment and maybe I'll hook you up with those jalapeno muffins at lunch." She called after him, returning to finishing the dishes.

"See Tino. She knows the way to a man's heart, his stomach. Now I'm no expert on ladies, but I think they enjoy food as well. And Elira if you could swing that I owe you my life. You know those muffins are the best." Said Nick as he grabbed his keys to small car he drove, it was one of compacts that maybe seated two people. He had gotten it cheap and before this pack had became a pack. He didn't it though and it beat taking the Vespa to work on cloudy days like this. He doubted it would rain but he just wanted to be sure. His uniform was in there as well so he didn't have to worry about changing till he got to the museum, which helped as it would prevent wolf hair from getting all over his clothes."Bye. I'll see you when I see you. Don't forget the heaven muffins Elira." He shut the door and in minutes began driving down the long dirt road that would take him to the highway.

Sam smiled back. "Very welcome, the cafe will open about 30 minutes after we get to the campus, if you like you can stay there till I get out. Probably the most comfortable place to stay and wait." She was a good bit ahead of Nick and didn't know that the alpha had left. Where Nick would turn right on the road she would be taking a left. About 20 minutes later they made it to the campus and she removed a slip of paper that had a simple map on it. "Here you go. I'm not sure how well you know the campus but this will get you to where you want to go. I'll text you when I get out."

Stretching Danny got up and began getting her coveralls on. She was about to head into the shop she worked at and start the day. "I wonder how many morons will be in for flooding there fuel injectors. Probably at least 5 before lunch. Wish we could have a real challenge for once." Then she too left. Leaving only Thorne, Tiana, Tino, and Elira in the big house.

Thorne was starting to nod off when Tiana made him a large cup of coffee. She knew how Throne liked his, and Thorne knew how Tiana liked hers. Granted Tiana was better at making the coffee and Thorne was a pro at making tea. She set the cup of coffee in front of Thorne's face, letting the steam run over his clean shaven face. "Drink it. Then get ready for work. You don't need to be falling asleep when customers ask for screws or hammers, or whatever department you'll be in today. No using power tools today. I swear if you come in the hospital needing stitches because you weren't thinking straight, I'll...." She let the threat hang letting him think up whatever he could imagine.

"Okay. I promise I won't cut any wood on shift." Said Thorne mumbling in his sleep deprived voice. He took a long drink of the coffee and could feel it beginning to work. He would take a cold shower, something he hated doing but it helped to wake him up.

Tino shook his head, waving a hand dismissively. "Only you think food is best way to heart." He chuckled, his sentence although grammatically incorrect got the point across. A haughty smirk pulled at the corners of his mouth. Looking between the Alpha and the second Beta. Elira was facing away from the two, using the excuse of cleaning dishes so that they wouldn't see how beet red her face was.

"Yeah, sure thing." Was her reply half gesturing goodbye to him from the cover of her position. Tino leaned against the counter, nudging Elira with a knowing look on his face.

Joel smiled, taking the map from Sam happily. He'd never turn down an option to loiter in a cafe. Luckily he had his sketch book with him so he'd have something to do while he waited. "Cool, I'll find something to keep me occupied. Havery fun at class, Sweetie." Joel mused, getting out of the car with her when they had arrived on campus. He waved goodbye before trekking off towards the cafe figuring that if he walked slow enough he'd get there by the time they opened.

Tino chuckled, looking over at Danny as she got ready for work. He moved away from his spot at the counter and headed towards the front door. Saying goodbye to her in his native tongue before turning to the rest of the small group. "I have to go to bar now. Working late so will see everyone when I get back." He mused sending a smile and a wave their way before leaving.

Elira looked over at Thorne and Tiana with a small smile. They were so cute together it almost hurt. She filled her mug with the rest of the coffee that Thorne wasn't drinking and started out of the kitchen herself. "Have fun at work guys, I'll see you tonight." She called, heading out of the gigantic house and towards her Wrangler.

"So how long do you think It'll take them to get together?" Asked Tiana smiling broadly after Elira left. It was just her and Thorne in the house and she knew he'd be heading out to work soon. She was rooting for Nick and Elira to get together, and was puzzled as to why they hadn't yet. Perhaps it was Nick trying to prevent himself from getting hurt again. He had after all told him the story of how his old mate had been killed. She knew how much it had eaten him alive. Maybe she'd go behind his back and at least tell Elira what had happened. Maybe it would help, but no it was better for everyone if Nick told Elira on his own time.

Thorne shrugged as an answer to Tiana's question. "Hard to say with Nick. I mean he is a little difficult to gauge at times." He finished his coffee and began to leave the kitchen. "I'm going to shower and get ready for work. Enjoy the peace while you can. I know the hospital can be stressful at times."

Sam went into her class and sat there for the next 2 hours. The class was a good one and interesting but sometimes she hated staying so still, taking notes as fast as she could while the teacher droned on about the subject. Other times it felt the class was too short and she didn't get enough of it, those were usually the classes in which she found the most interesting.

Nick made it into work and made his way to the head office. He had his uniform draped over his shoulder until he found out what was going on. When he entered two other people were in there along with Mr. Jones, the man who ran and practically owned the museum. "Hello Mr. Jones. They told me you wanted to see me. What can I do for you?"

The large man with an equally large mustache nodded. "Yes. Well some of our European curators just came back from a small expedition. Dr. Cor and Dr. Sel. They found a strange tablet and took pictures of it and are having issues with translating it. If I remember correctly your resume said you enjoyed reading old runes. Correct?

"Yes sir, but It's just the Nordic runes, I haven't had a chance to learn the others." Said Nick wanting to be clear before they asked him something he could do. "The Norse runes are pretty simple."

"Excellent then." Said the skinny balding man as he stood up. "I'm Dr. Cor, and we discovered the runes as I'm sure you can guess. And they happen to be Norse. If they had been anglo saxon we would have been okay, but we didn't want to tip off anyone else. We wanted to keep it to ourselves so no one stole our discovery. What do you say on helping us translate them?"

"Uh... That'd be an honor. Whenever you are ready to start I'm for it."

She put the keys in the ignition and with a flick of her wrist the engine roared to life. She loved this car, as big and impractical as it was. At least it was comfortable and got her places. It only took her a half hour to make it into the heart of the town and park her car in the back of the bakery. The scent of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, pies, and an assortment of other baked goods clashed around in the air. With her enhanced senses she could hear the 50's music playing from inside the brick building. One day she wondered if she could own her a bakery for herself. But that seemed like a far fetched daydream. Besides, Elira knew she wasn't the best with people. Her trust issues kept her from being friendly all the time.

The bell above the glass door signaled her arrival to the people inside. She was sure Isole, the grumpy old woman who ran 'Sweet Treats Bakery', was going to have her hide for being so late. Not that she'd actually do anything about it but complain. Elira smiled sweetly seeing the old woman at the counter with an irritated expression. "You're lucky Maggie came in the morning to cover the first twenty minutes of your shift." The younger woman shrugged with an apologetic smile, walking in the back of the store to grab her apron. "Lucky's my middle name." She teased, taking Isole's spot at the regester. With a glance at the clock she let out a small sigh, knowing that she was going to have to stay a bit later in order to make up for her tardiness. At least it wasn't all bad, she could have been stuck with some lame nine to five job.

Joel was in heven. He only had to wait fifteen minutes for the cafe to open and it was worth every second. He lounged in one if the plush seats by the window, sketching and drinking what had to be the world's best Chai latte. He hummed to himself slightly a bit overly thrilled with the fact that he would be in the place for at least another hour and a half.

Nick was talking with the two men animatedly for the next two hours and had moved to their office to begin looking at their photos. The photos were very clear, but despite that the age of the stone walls were worn, making it hard to see all the symbols. He began writing out all the runes on a sheet of paper, writing them as they appeared. He had even found a spot where the scribe had made an error and noted that as well with the correction. The process took him well over and hour when his phone began singing that "Food, glorious food." from one of the ice age movies. He didn't care for the movie but had enjoyed that song. the alarm was simply to tell him it was lunch time. He stretched at looked at the two men. "Alright I'm going on lunch. One of my p... Room mates" He was about to say pack member but caught himself, "Said she'd bring me something from the bakery. So she should be her soon. And no worries I won't let anyone know about this." All Nick had done at this point was write everything down. Then he would translate it to the Scandinavian language and then finally to English. With a gentle wave Nick left the office and headed to the outside benches and tables to wait for Elira.

Sam finally finished with her class and packed her bag. The class had gone very well and she had learned a few things that she had never given thought to before. She left her care where it was and walked the short distance to the cafe. She knew too many students who would drive the short distance to the cafe and then complain about parking. Her personal opinion on the matter was that everyone should just walk were they needed to go. When she got inside the cafe she made a gesture to tell Joel to stay where he was and she ordered two everything bagels and two large coffees for them. It was a snack and although she would never tell Elira the cafe had the bagels in town, but only the bagels. The doughnuts, cookies and scones were garbage. With the treats in hand she went over to Joel and handed him bagel and coffee. "Go ahead and prepare them as you like. We'll eat real quick and then go where you need to."

By this time Thorne was at work and in his bright red smock. The hardware store was cool, they didn't care how he looked as long as his work got done, and it always did. As promised to Tiana he stayed away from the power tools and was currently watching the weather channel in the break room. There was nothing special going on that day. In fact by the time he got off it would be clear skies and bright stars. He was thinking about going to the tortoise pen when he got home and stare at the stars. He'd decide once he got home. If he was too tired he'd feed the frogs and go home.

The day had gone by all too slowly. She had spent the better part of her morning manning the cash register and bickering with Maggie about how many blueberries to put into the muffins. The middle aged woman had such blatant disregard for the art of baking. Around 11:30 Elira grabbed a paper bag and filled it to the brim with the treats she had promised to bring Nick. She grabbed another bag and filled it with some different croissants. Waving at her boss she left the bakery to take her lunch break smiling slightly to herself. The walk to the museum didn't take long. Elira still had her purple apron on from the bakery and her hair was held up by a ponytail. She was sure she probably had some flour in her hair or on her face but it wasn't like she cared much. The first thing she saw upon walking up those giant marble steps was the man sitting at one of the outdoor tables. She could have recognized that blonde hair anywhere. "Someone reallllly must have wanted these muffins." Elira commented, knowing that he would hear her even though she was only half way up the steps to meet him.

Joel grinned as soon as she saw Sam. He chuckled to himself when she brought over the coffee and Bagels. "Yaaas, girl thank you." He mused taking the goodies with much enthusiasm. He closed his sketchbook on his lap looking over at his friend. "So how was class?" He asked taking a long drink form his coffee and a bite of his food. "Oh my goodness. Don't tell 'Lira but these bagels are to die for." He said around a mouthful of the delicious food.

Jon let out a small sigh, running his fingers through his thick brown locks. He was still stuck in class and he felt as if this professor was never going to shut up. Analyzing cases and going over the different laws were fun and all but almost four hours stuck in the same seat was giving him a headache. Jesus he just wanted to go home already. Writing down the last of his notes for the moment, he laid his head down on the desk and yawned praying that the half hour left of this college marathon would be over soon.

"You know it." Said Nick as he met her half way and began digging into the bag she brought for him. "These." He started with a mouth full. "Are the best things ever. You should totally make these everyday.... No bad idea, enough jalapenos in the world don't exist." He finished the entire muffin in a few minutes and had his hand on a second one. "How long do you have for a break? I was thinking maybe I could give you a tour if you like. You know I know a few things about this place." He was enjoying Elira's company, he normally did. There was something about her that soothed him. Since she had been in the house the nightmare flashbacks he had, had nearly stopped. They still happened from time to time, but the pack couldn't tell. They didn't make him loose sleep. In fact Tiana was the only who knew about them. She had been there when he had a terrible nightmare back when it was just the two of them. She had woken him up and comforted him. A troubled look crossed his face but he quickly hide it, not wanting Elira to know or see him a bit weak. It wasn't him trying to manly or anything. It was him trying to hide the guilt and remorse he felt.

"I know right." Said Sam laughing. She had one of those laughs, and smiles, that could light up a room. Danny had once said that if she ever started laughing or smiling at a funeral everyone wouldn't feel nearly as sad, but perhaps that was just how partial Danny was to Sam. "They are good. I can't get enough of them. Normally I only get them once a week when I have a class followed by one the grueling labs, but I decided I could get two this week. Treat yo self" She said adding in a phrase from the show Parks and Rec. It was one of her guilty pleasures, it made her laugh, she found the characters relate-able and had even shown Nick the seen were Donna had said "I'm about to go mjonir on his ass!"  She wiped the coffee from her lip and looked up at Joel so she could hear him better. "Alright so where do we go? I think this is our first adventure together. Could be a lot of fun."

A lot of swearing could be heard as Danny was working on getting some part out of a truck. "Are you serious. The fucker tried to work on this himself and stripped the screw head. Now I have to spend the next twenty minutes drilling it out. Honestly if you are a maldita idiota you shouldn't use tools unless its a tape measure." The rest of the shop was keeping there distance from her. They knew how passionate she was about doing a job right and when a customer tried to fix it themselves and failed terribly they were damned in the eyes of Danny. The only thing the shop did to help calm Danny down was turn the radio to her favorite station. Luckily for the shop, things like this didn't happen to often. Sure Danny got angry often, but it was normally at herself, or at the car and those went away quickly.

She looked up at him as he towered over her. Not bothering to hide the amusment on her face, she arched an eyebrow moving the bag away from him before he could snatch a third. A chuckle escaped past her lips, moving around him to move back to the table he was just sitting at. Elira swept at a few stray hairs that fell in her face, putting both bags down she turned to face him. "I didn't realize you liked them that much. I can make them at home you know." She mused, taking some of the blueberry muffins out of the bag. She started munching on it, looking up at the sky as she thought. She couldn't remember how long her lunch breaks were supposed to be come to think of it. Elira had only brought Nick some lunch from the bakery a couple times and each time she had never actually stayed long. She glanced at the looming building behind her, finishing her food before responding to him. "I think I have enough time for a tour." Elira mused, looking back into those very green eyes of his.

Joel grinned coyly, shaking his head in amusment. "I'm really tempted to buy one of these for her. Can you imagine the look on her face? She'll spend weeks secretly searching up baking recipes to out do this cafe." He giggled girlishly, sweeping one leg over the other as he continued to drunk his coffee. "Could be." He hummed, licking his lips lightly. "The lady who commissioned my talent lives one the other side of town actually. It shouldn't be too far." He mused, giving her a happy smile.

Tino scowled, wiping the bar top down quickly. He had hoped to be able to sleep in the back room for a bit. But him bumbling bartenders required a bit more training then what he had hoped. He worked alongside his staff for a bit before ducking out to go get something to eat.

A cheerful triumphant laugh escaped Nick as he clapped his hands. "Alright then. It seems no one has the time to come and visit here, you'll be the first." He ate his second muffin as he sat back down at the table. "Plus when we are home I have good news to share. I can't say too much yet, but good things are coming." When they finished eating Nick lead them to the lobby and showed the clerk his badge. They were allowed up to three guest at a time to enter in for free, which was fine for Nick, he rarely got a chance to have guest. He gave the clerk a smile and offered his arm out for Elira to take "See I told you we didn't have a T-rex."

Danny and Joel were back in the car now and she got them out of the college and was headed for the heart of the city. She knew she was headed to the right general direction but Joel would have to start giving her directions shortly. "So is this lady nice or one of those bitter ones. I just want to be prepared." Sam was a people person and could easily handle even the most rotten of people and not be phased by them, she had even gotten a few to calm done by her ability to keep a level head.

For a second she could have sworn her heart malfunctioned, the sound of his laughter caused a light dusting of pink to enter her cheeks. It was only for a millisecond and then it was gone replaced by her usual pale complexion. A smile pulled at the corner of her lips, getting up from their little table after they had both finished eating. She threw out the bag as they entered the museum. "Really? I would have thought Tiana or Thorne would have shown up once or twice before me." Her surprise was genuine as she glanced up at him. Elira secretly felt a bit happy that she was the first to take up his offer on the tour. It just had her thinking that maybe she was a bit more special then. The thoughts were suddenly washed away, her face twisting back into an unreadable expression. That was stupid of her to think that. It was nothing more than a friendly gesture anyway. Elira glanced over at him, arching an eyebrow. "Well that's good at least." She tried to keep the dryness out of her voice and mentally prayed that he wouldn't have picked up on the tone shift. They made their was through the lobby and where coming up to the first exhibit hall when he offered his arm to her. Elira almost did a double take, looping her own arm with his lightly. A playful pout made its way to her mouth, pretending to be disappointed. "You know I was really hoping to see one. Just for the sake of Night at the Museum." She mused, giggling to herself a bit. They continued walking for a while until she saw a giant sword in one of the cases. It was old, almost too old for her to process as she all but dragged Nick towards it. "What's this?" She asked curiously, looking from the display to Nick.

Joel strolled back to the car with his hands in his pockets only a bit saddened about leaving that beautiful cafe. He stuck his sketchbook in the back seat before getting in. "She really nice, at least her emails said so. I never actually had a face to face conversation with her. A lot of my clients are like that though." He thought absently, looking out the window. "Do you think Jon will be done with classes by the time we get back?" He asked innocently, actually really greatful that Sam was along with him. It would have been one hell of a walk otherwise.

Nick laughed again. "This is actually one of the proud jewels of the museum. Its a pair of old shoes. It's about 5,000 years old and made from leather." He directed her attention to the inside of the shoe and pointed at straw on the inside. "See even back then people wanted comfort when they walked, so they stuffed them with straw. The museum did a thing about 2 years ago for the kids and had them stuff straw inside a canvas draw string. The kids who wore them said they were itchy, the janitorial team said they were cleaning up straw for two weeks, and those guys know how to clean."  It was amazing that the strange looking shoes were older than the great pyramids. That these shoes were older that some civilizations, and had seen the fall of many empires. "I believe it was one of our own men who found these, its really the only reason we have them. But we have much cooler stuff than these."

"Oh yeah. On the days I stay late I usually see him getting ready to leave. He does that study group with everyone those days." Said Sam smiling knowingly. "Want to swing by and surprise him after we finish? I don't mind." Sam was good at picking up on people, sometimes knowing their desires before they had acknowledged it themselves, Like Elira with Nick. "Okay which way do I go now?" She was in a middle lane as to make a turn easily one way or the other.
