Blood and survival

InsaneTruth

Panda Hero
A world fresh in its making full of life diverse as well as deadly. Two rough continents separated by a harsh sea. One continent lush with vegetation and full of magic, named Terrin lead by a mage king and his two sons. The other a mountainous harsh land lead by a family of royals that was more than large the eldest brother lead the kingdom though not properly. This continent was galled Gorath.

A new coven of vampires had formed in the mountains of the harsh Gorath the winter winds howled lucky for them, vampires did not feel cold. There was a new threat to them though wolves, Werewolves to be exact. Fearles hunters that had a thing against the undead bloodsuckers. The coven was small and in danger from such threats a sire and his three childes was all this family had right now having just escaped a war. The sire was beautiful he was also a rare born vampire. Lavander colored hair that cascaded down his back, violet eyes and skin white as a new fallen snow. He was th easiest to spot out as a vampire. His oldest childe an EX-hunter had a messy mop of black hair framing a young childish face Red eyes and a strong body he was a rather handsome male. The other two childes were both young and both female, one blonde and one brunette though other then their hair they looked exactly alike. Identical twins, both feline in lineage little cat ears and tails marked them as inhuman.

"Lucifer," The eldest childe said hugging his sire. "I'm scared," he admitted the threats of hunters was not new to him but specialized hunters like werewolves? That was different.

"Max it'll be ok, I'm going out to hunt take care of your sisters," The sire pet his childe and smiled to assure him. With that the vampire began his hunt weary of others who may try to harm him or his family.

"Four."

"Four's a lot."

"We can handle four. One for each of us."

Leslimune looked over the others, her muzzle wrinkled with indecisiveness. They were a small pack - two males, two females - a segment of the one ruled by Alpha Krishna. One of the males stepped through the snow to nudge her shoulder, his breath misting between his teeth. "Stop looking so frightened, Leslie. We've driven these rats out before. Besides, we're the best of the yearlings, and Krishna will have to acknowledge that when we bring back their maggoty heads." Skyle tossed back his great shaggy head, grinning at her. "Look at you, the first female to join the Night Hunt since your mother died."

Leslie snapped at him, and Skyle jumped back with a yelp. He had her, though, and he knew it. Snorting in displeasure, the she-wolf strode back to where they had picked up the scent. The creekbed was full of broken ice; their prey had come through here in a hurry. She stared for a moment at her reflection among the still shards. Round, earthy brown eyes stared back at her, set in a face of chocolate brown fur that lightened toward her spine and paws. Her own breath formed a frigid cloud before teeth as long and sharp as human knives, their ferocity dampened somewhat by the large lolling pink tongue nested among them. She was barely two years of age. Had her mother hunted their enemies so young?

No matter; she would. Jumping over the creek in a single bound, Leslie led the others on the trail, tossing her head back with a wild howl. The others soon took it up. Let the vampires quake, she thought, feeling a snarl work its way up her jaws as the scent grew thicker. Let them fear!

The sire froze hearing the howls. Out of his coven he was the strongest, Max second but the girls were new and scared they could not fight this, not so soon after a change. The purple haired vampire ran, instead of away, towards the wolves. He knew MAx had heard the howl that meant he was getting the girls and running. Just as he should. "Hey dogs," Lucifers voice harshened by a growl he would get their attention though he would rather not fight, he was hungry weak and tired.

Max had heard the howl "Lets get going," he told the shaking twins Max was lucky he and the girls were all good runners he would find them a place to hide. "Don't be scared Lucifer will protect us, he can't be beaten," Max had faith in his sire the man who saved him so many years ago. Max took the girls hands and ran with them.

Skyle heard the challenge. Leslie barked sharply and the wolves split, two stopping and making their stand while the others flanked around from behind. It didn't take long to surround the sire.

"Well, well, a rat in our midst, boys and girls." Leslie held her tongue as Skyle stepped forward, eyeing the vampire with a wicked look in his eye. The others set up a chores of growls. Then he did something incredibly stupid, so much so that Leslie started forward in anger and shock - he changed.

The yearling werewolf straightened himself up, stretching. His human form was little more than than of a sixteen-year-old boy, his black hair shaggy and unkempt. In the freezing cold, he wore little more than a pair of baggy trousers, but the snow didn't appear to bother him. He grinned with pointed teeth at their prey. "Figured I'd even the odds," he taunted. Leslie's head jerked up; she heard branches snapping farther away. "Skyle," she growled softly. "There's more. It might be a trap."

The boy looked at Lucifer closely, his gaze flicking over the vampire's messy, emaciated appearance. "No," the brute said slowly. "There's no ambush. He's decoying."

The two other wolves snarled, then turned and ran after the sounds. Leslie shifted her weight from paw to paw. This was a bad idea. Four on one was better than two on one. Skyle smiled at her reassuringly, then turned back to Lucifer. "Your spawn?" he asked rhetorically. Spitting on the ground, he laughed, advancing. "They'll be dead soon enough. We can reunite you in Hell!"

"We have no beef with you dogs," Lucifer growled he was in a fighting ready stance. "What do you have against us living in peace? Or do you take pleasure in killing so much that you justify your bloodlust as a saints chore?" He was trying to anger them he was worried the two broke off but Max could take them on he's a strong kid.

When the one turned human Lucifer had to chuckle at his stupidity. "You are cocky child," he told him and with vampiric speed attacked the boy if he could just knock the kid out he would if he had to he would kill him though he had to get to his family.

Max heard the wolves he had to stash the girls and he did in a cave covering the entrance with a rock to mask their smell he ran to meet the wolves though he was scared he would fight. He had to they couldn't "When my sire gets here you will run like cowards," Max said in a growl.

"Right," said the foremost female wolf, a slight creature of pure white. Her golden eyes were fixed on the boy with a hungry expression. "That is, if he gets here."

The other male jumped down behind the boy, sniffing at the entrance of the cave. "More, Ellie," he warned, taking a few steps back. "At least two more."

Ellie snorted nervously, but kicked away some snow in irritation. "They're pups." She looked at the boy, then the male werewolf. To be honest, she didn't want to slaughter children, even if they were undead. Skyle's mission seemed... almost wantonly violent. Shuffling her weight from paw to paw, she set her teeth. "I've a better idea, kid. You get in that cave." She nodded to the one the other wolf was guarding. "Stay there, and when Sky - our Alpha comes back, we'll take you to the pack. You might be worth something to the King in Gorath." Her eyes narrowed to slits of unfriendly yellow. "Or you could resist, and I'll tear your apart, rib from rib."

Skyle growled, rolling with the vampire's attack. Leslie yelped in alarm as snow sprayed among the two. The werewolf gripped his enemy around the throat, preventing the vampire from using his fangs, and snarled into Lucifer's face. "You're vermin. Killing you is the only thing to do."

But Leslie could see his arms trembling with effort. She circled the pair, ears laid back and tail flicking by her ankles. She couldn't attack; her weight might crush them both. A werewolf retains strength in his human form, but he isn't invincible. She growled low and deep in her throat, anxiously glancing from wolf to vampire. With a shuddering burst of energy, Skyle threw Lucifer off of him, leaping like an animal to all fours and pursuing the 'sucker even as he was tossed into the air. He drew his fist back to strike.

Abruptly, dazedly, Leslie knew Skyle was about to die.

Max growled deeply "Like I believe you'd spare us," he said and rushed the other away from the cave growling deep in his throat "You monsters are nothing but that! Monsters! In my life I hunted vampires, but you... you are earths scum." he was defending the girls they were crying scared in their cave. Max held his back to the rock blocking the cave to keep from being surrounded.

Lucifer was caught but he was old much older then the boy he was fighting he kicked the wolf in the ribs hard as he possibly could. If nothing else the attack would break something if not make the wolf let go of him. "You will not harm my childes!" he was fighting for his family. The vampire swipped claws out the finly sharpened nails were just as sharp and hard as wolves fangs.

"We-?!" The male wolf cried out in indignation, but Ellie shot him a sharp look, silencing him on the spot. After a moment's hesitation, the she-wolf stepped forward and opened her mouth to say something -

A horrible, pain-filled howl stopped her dead.

Both werewolves reared back in shock. Swiftly glancing between them - something terrible had happened, they needed to return to Skyle and Leslie - a thought occurred simultaneously to both. "Leave the others," Ellie ordered, darting forward. Her jaws sank harmlessly into the collar of Max's sweater, dragging him along. The brute joined her, his teeth catching Max's sleeve. Together, the two wolves dragged their prize back to the others, moving as quickly as they dared.

Skyle coughed up a spray of blood, his face as pale as the snow around them. Snarling, Leslie leapt over her friend, snarling viciously at Lucifer. Without wasting a second more, she threw herself at the vampire, teeth scrabbling for a hold on his throat. The she-wolf's size was considerably larger than Skyle's human form, and she counted on it to hold Lucifer down while she subdued him. Rage made foam bubble on her lips.

Somewhere far off, she heard howls. Ellie and Lancaster. For a moment she stopped struggling, simply lying on the vampire, and growled into his ear. "My wolves have your children. Stop moving or I'll call for them to die. Now."

Max struggled and when he could he slid out of his sweater falling from their grasp this kid was tricky after all he was a hunter before a vampire. He had to wonder why this pack was so strong? normally a vamp and a wolf would match on fair ground. He darted away from the two and towards his sire to help him and max was fast! The kid rushed snow flying in his wake.

Lucifer twisted to avoid the wolves teeth her fangs getting his forearm instead Lucifer did not taste like most vampires his blood instead tasted living. HE was a born vampire he was never turned into one so his body was technically a living body. She found pinning him was less then an easy feet the vampire was strong very strong she had him for the moment but sh'e not keep him there without help long.
