This seems pretty interesting. Would you be intrigued by a nobleman mage character that travels to Hollow Vale from abroad that is interested in learning from the Cainhursts (for reasons that are his own)?

While I don't know if it could be classified as young adult, I think my favorite fantasy trilogy (though the third book has yet to be released) is the Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss. Brilliant main character, brilliant plot, brilliant setting, brilliant author.
