This is pretty cool, I'll be looking forward to trying these out since I really missed the bbc codes that were left behind during the update.

I have to admit, getting to use HTML is pretty cool. You also mentioned CSS. Do we get to use that as well? What about javascript?

Also, to what extent can we do stuff?

Go wild.

I'm not one hundred present sure what the board software allows since it does have HTMLPurifer to attempt to protect the site from malicious coding but yeah just go crazy. We just ask that you don't purposely load CSS That alters how the site looks, contain it all to your post. We really want this to be the foundation of something great.

Can you help me make sense of this page you linked? I just want to be able to access all the colors I used to use, and when I click on colors, there is no code or example. I know hex codes and rbg values but it doesn't say how I'm supposed to input it.

Can I use that but with color names rather than hex numbers? I know the names... not really the numbers that go with them.

Yes, there are many color names that all browsers recognize.

Yes, with words like "red", "blue", and "green".

I still can't see the source button after making a post per the suggestion in the description (I have over 500 posts), do I need to make a post on another thread?

I am not seeing that anywhere.

In the site that @Meredith there's huge text saying HTML

Under that text there is a box that says Learn HTML. Click that box to Learn HTML

What about the ones like mediumaquamarine, lightseagreen, crimson... etc?

The link that I have doesn't show what the color code is in different situations. It just has a list of the different forms colors come in.

I see it just fine on your account, its the button most to the left. If you can't see it, you might have to log in and out :)!

No, those will not work.  If you want a wider range of colors, use the hex values.

@DaughterofAthena

I know I'm the type of person who learns better with like, a teacher. I had to learn HTML super fast last semester for a web design class I had to take because I couldn't get into the coding class I was supposed to take cause it was full T_T

But these videos helped immensely. The guy teaching is super chill and makes it real easy to understand. I'm not gonna lie though, HTML is way more involved than using bbcode and it seems too complex for just wanting to organize a roleplay or make it look pretty. Bbcode was much simpler and less time consuming to learn. If you genuinely have no desire to learn HTML, as in you don't see yourself doing anything coding related in the future, mayaswell wait for the buttons we were promised. Here's the video though mate.

Wikipedia also has a pretty great colour-to-hex list~

Out of curiosity, will the option of HTML code open up more color and font options down the road? I . . . kind of have a thing for dialogue colors and fancy post headers saying who I'm writing for at the time. Hahaha

Also, @The Dark Wizard it seems the picture you added in is broken :-/ (Knowing my luck you've already been told this a few dozen times xD )

For using color, can I use the paragraph code for color when I just want to color a piece of a paragraph... like a line of dialogue? The site I'm looking at gives a different one than @Musician listed which I was just able to find in styles but it uses two different ones. One for headers and one for paragraphs... and I don't want to color a full paragraph. Just pieces of it.

I have a question its about

Quote

While are planning a ton of buttons for the editor and enhancements to be able to easily do stuff, we are going to make that part 2.

So when part 2 comes around people like me who don't know HTML will be able to make our character sheets and posts pretty?

Because I know I can't learn HTML (not as simple as thats my mindset I mean I know for a fact my brain is unable to store info like that.)

So I was just wondering if that part 2 would be able to be used by ppl like me who can't learn HTML??

Also I'm kind of excited to see what people do with this <3

Yes, you can use paragraph code as well to apply colors.  Here is a large example of code that I use for an old site I was on way back when.
