[div class="output personalityoutput"]Ren's a withdrawn young man who seems to care little for the world around him. He doesn't have much of a presence to begin with. It's not uncommon for him to be left to his own devices during group activities in class. It doesn't help that he's rare to respond, and even rarer speak up first. Wanting to be noticed just doesn't come naturally to him. As a result he comes off as distant and uninterested, with people avoiding his admittedly very gloomy atmosphere.

Truthfully, they may not be that off the mark. Ren would rather be sleeping at home than going to school, or listening to music than hearing others speak. He's an introvert and a homebody, and high school's a hard time to be both. He has no problem being ignored. It's being the center of attention that's difficult, and that's exactly what he is in Hokusei. Sure no one talks to him, but the loud silence and pointed stares are enough to send him running to the greenhouse.

For the fresh transfer student, anxiety and a lack of self-esteem are his closest friends. The feeling of judgement from his peers only exacerbates the problem. His withdrawal from others is really just a self-defense mechanism. An ultimately unhealthy one, but it will take a lot of coaxing before he's ready to leave his shell.[/div]
[div class="output biographyoutput"]From the beginning, Ren's life was a tumultuous one. With his family broken as a result of his parents' constant infidelities, security was not a feeling he associated with home. The result was a tendency to withdraw from others, escaping from his problems via books or games; anything that could help him forget the problems that plagued his surroundings. It would've been easier had his parents separated, but marriage was considered a merit in the corporate world. Separating would've strained their social status.

The subdued mood from home carried over to his school life. He rarely smiled or reacted; his peers began avoiding him as a result. Lonely, but unable to do anything about it, he accepted his status as an outsider and quietly carried on. Though his teachers occasionally showed concern, the charming charade of his parents and their excuses that he was simply a shy child appeased any worries they may have had. While he may have not originally been shy, the lack of social interaction developed into true discomfort for Ren and so he began to avoid others by choice.

That was until he met Mari and Yuto. For some reason, the three of them simply clicked and became near inseparable. Yuto was the glue that held them together; no matter how much others avoided him and Mari, he kept being their friend and weathering the storm. He found comfort in his two friends, using them as an escape when things at home grew worse.

And they did grow worse. When it came out that he had a half-brother from his father, his family exploded. Apparently it was one thing to be unfaithful, it was another to have a second family. He needed to say it to someone, but he couldn't bring himself to tell Mari. She belonged to a happy family. Ren didn't think she could ever relate or sympathize. He hadn't planned on telling Yuto either, but his friend managed to forcefully pry it out of a very reluctant Ren. The Erica had been expecting empty words of comfort that the two offered him with every story he said. But this time, Yuto spoke of understanding.

This was a turning point for the two of them. While Yuto never spoke directly of his home life, the glimpses that Ren had of it told him that Yuto did understand what he was going through. Neither said a word to Mari. And that was where things took their turn for the worse; neither sought the help they should've received. They enabled each other's depression and neither were able to break free from the cycle they'd put themselves in. Ren was the one who spoke of wanting not to exist at all, but it was Yuto who planted the seed that eventually lead to the incident at the rooftop.

The Erica remembers the exact moment he pulled away from the brink, but the incidents after proved to be a blur. He vaguely remembers Mari coming up shortly after, but in an effort to survive the grief he's blocked out most of the details from his mind. He couldn't bring himself to show up for the wake, and he couldn't face Mari properly after. He was just numb.

For the most part, his classmates left him alone the next couple of months, having known of his friendship with the deceased. His teachers had kept it hush that he'd been up on the rooftop with Yuto. But it soon came out, and with a terrible addition: that he and Yuto had argued, leading Ren to push him off the roof. His last year of junior high proved to be the roughest of all of his academic years; with rumors circulating about his involvement in Yuto's death, people began to openly spite him.

He genuinely thought he could find respite when he went to high school. Most of his junior high classmates had gone to a different one, but due to simple proximity, within a month into his freshman year the gossip mill had churned out his story more times than he could count. His parents finally took notice when he began to actively avoid going to school. Guilty about the emotional repercussions of their unorthodox relationship, they asked Ren what he wanted. So when Ren asked to go to a high school outside his home prefecture, they reluctantly acquiesced. He may have had a shot at a fresh start so when he walked into class that first day, he'd been feeling rather optimistic.

But then he met Mari's gaze and he felt like he was back on the rooftop. He had to fight the urge to flee, and he couldn't exactly ask his parents for another transfer so soon. He knew he would tough it out. Unsurprisingly, Mari avoided him and he genuinely thought he deserved it. Within his first week, others noticed the odd behavior between the two; they took to asking any contacts they had in Ren's prefecture rather than ask the blonde. When Ren came in that day, he knew without a doubt that the story had somehow reached Hokusei and if it had been Mari who'd said it, he couldn't blame her.[/div]
[div class="output miscellaneousoutput"]✿ Ren's name is written as 前園 恋. Yep, that's the kanji for love, ironically enough. He doesn't really like his name as it feels like it doesn't suit him, but since he has no choice, he just accepts it.

✿ He's actually really good at fighting games and has always wanted to compete in tournaments and such, but anxiety makes it difficult to do so. Instead he contents himself with raising his rank on the online ladders.

✿ Ren has always been a big bookworm. However, many books remain untranslated into his native tongue. In his desire to read works by his favored authors, he has much better proficiency in English than the average high school student. His favorite novel is the philosophical science-fiction 'Ten Billion Days and One Hundred Billion Nights' by Mitsuse Ryu.

✿ Though he knew he would get in trouble for it, Ren had the bottom part of his hair bleached because he couldn't stand looking at himself and seeing the person who was with Yuto at that moment. People misunderstood it as him rebelling against the school rules.

✿ While Ren typically has earbuds on when at school, he oftentimes just listens to white noise and not music. When at home, you'll usually find him using his headphones and listening to some electronic-influenced RnB.

✿ Handy with computers and technology in general, Ren's laptop is a gaming laptop, while his desktop is a self-built machine. It was his biggest shipping expense when he moved prefectures.[/div]
[div class="output rrolearray"]freesia$Ren often finds himself doing things against his better judgement when it's Kazuo who asked. He can't hold eye contact long, if at all, as guilt and shame force him to pull away.#iris$Seeing Touma and Mari together reminds him of long-past days with Yuta. He's reluctant to involve himself with them, as he might poison Touma the same way he did with his past best friend. Kazuo is a person who is very insincere. He puts on a mask for all to see, but underneath he’s only out for his own gains. It’s very rare that he ever likes someone enough to drop the mask or genuinely care for them. In fact to this day the only ones who have ever seen the less presentable side of him are his older brothers. Granted that doesn’t mean that the others don’t have their suspicions, it’s by no means an ironclad mask but it's served him well since elementary.

To his peers Kazuo puts out a friendly and open atmosphere. He makes sure to greet people when he can and always has a smile on his face, even if only he knows it’s a fake one. He gives lots of ‘affection’ to his younger classmates through headpats and hugs. With how often he’s willing to listen to others and the easy false compliments it’s easy to forget that it’s all just a mask. Acting personable is something that is an easy cover up for him, though it is still all an act typically.

The one area that gives him up the most is the absolute disdain for all things physical. It is easy enough for him to call it a gardening club and just let what’s already there rot away. In fact he’s made the entire place his clubroom. From the mahjong table in the shed to the gaming sets littering the greenhouse to the shelves that have basically become more of a pantry it’s clear that his made it his own personal paradise.

The one area that is sincere is the enjoyment he gets from the club. Since he treats the place as his own playground to a degree he drops all the pretenses and gets to enjoy playing games with his club members. He’s never too worried about them letting anything out, after all his reputation is good enough that he can avoid any rumors gaining any real traction that could threaten the club. After all rumors only stay so long, especially when a better one comes up.

From all this it is easy to assume that he’s a completely lazy person with little morals. To be fair you’d be mostly right. Still he recognizes his own selfish personality, it’s only his own childish need to impress his older brothers that leads him to putting on the facade of a good student. With his older brother around to help he’d been basically tutored his whole life. With the parents he had he’d been easily told where his bad points lie. Since he was always being compared to the twins he’d naturally want to rise above that ideal. Without seeing or being told of the struggle of Akio and Katsuo he decided since everything obviously came easy to them he also shouldn’t need to put in that much work.

Kazuo comes from a ‘Nice family’, or in other words a rather prideful image based family. The Yoshidas are well known for their nicely tailored suits and proper attitudes. It’s a family that on the surface just seems to ooze success, from the grandparents to the parents right down to the kids. It is the kind of atmosphere where your flaws are front and center, and according to his mother he had quite a few, so that you can make sure they’re well covered up in the real world. After all the family image comes first.

This was especially true of school, even before he’d made a full school year he’d heard it all. It seemed like to the teachers there that before he was Kazuo he was Katsuo and Akio’s younger brother. It was a standard that was always in the back of his mind. He didn’t resent them for being confident and successful but as the years went on he became more and more of their shadow. Akio was bright and confident and social. Katsuo was the ideal student always helping his peers, getting honors, becoming the class rep. While the shadow of one would be bearable it seemed that he had no third option to stand out so instead he strived to match both.

Still he had a good life, in particular he has always been able to rely on his older brothers, Akio & Katsuo. Even with the five year age gap they’ve never been the type to ignore their younger brother. While Akio could have been less of a menace to him and he always thought Katsuo tried to hard to mother him he could always count on the twins to be on his side. It was never a tense or bad relationship even with Kazuo’s own desire to one up them, after all he loved his brothers even as he disliked their name coming up before his own for others.

"I'm aiming that she takes over the club when I'm gone, after all she's gone through hell and been victorious on her own."

An underclassmen he ‘comforted’ whenever possible to maintain a good image with the school. Behind her back he was one of the ones spreading rumors about her up until high school. When she’d joined the high school the next year he expected it to go back to the status quo but her new boldness meant she was now part of the ‘in crowd’ in his eyes. He's proud of her for finally making it and likes to compliment her in her presence or when talking to other underclassmen.

“She’s probably my least favorite honestly. Besides being attached to Touma she’s has absolutely nothing remarkable.”

Mari is not someone who holds Kazuo’s interest in any capacity of time. Honestly he’s mostly indifferent to her. While she’s part of the club, and naturally this means she’s therefore his, he doesn’t really try to direct her into interacting with others and aside from the customary one attempt a day to include her in group activities he generally couldn’t care less about her. Still should anything come up that would affect the club he’d technically take her side and try to ‘fix’ it.

“Ren is a great buddy, he probably is good enough that I should be good back but then it would be too easy for him.”

As a person Ren is probably his favorite type. He’s nice on the eyes, a good gaming buddy, and naive as shit. Kazuo frequently takes advantage of the comradery of being members of the same club to start things only to immediately hand it off to Ren. He ultimately doesn’t care much that he’s taking advantage of Ren since he excuses it as he spoils his club members with new games, and all types of snacks and drinks. Ultimately it’s fine that he’s playing with Ren like this since after all he’s giving him a proper “pay” and buddies help each other right?

"Touma is adorably dim, but that makes him one of my favorite members of the club"

Kazuo offered the gardening club up for a variety of reason. At least partially of which was because he easy to mess with. The club couldn’t have gone on without proper members so Touma’s little spat was perfect for him. Not to mention the fact that Kazuo’s a horrible gossip and wants to hear Touma’s side of the story. While Touma’s been tight lipped which frustrates Kazuo, the boy makes up for it in his natural entertainment value and his complete willingness to be Kazuo’s gofer.

Yoshi is a person that constantly mistifies Kazuo, not because he’s a mystery but by the pure fact that he’s done a dramatic 180 which seems to be unfavorable for his own situation. In his head he’s always comparing Yoshi to Kasumi and finding himself disappointed with Yoshi as a result. While Kasumi’s change garnered his respect he finds himself pulling away from their once friendlier and “closer” relationship into one where Kazuo occasionally forgets the boy exists not including him in group summoning attempts, or when he does he’s verbally proding the boy to cheer up and saying that this new facade is unlikable.

Yoshi's nature is simple when put onto paper. Reserved, studious, inquisitive, and almost always bearing the underlying disdain for something no matter what or where he is. He functions normally with those he likes as others would generally, but those outside of his preferred few are seen as unimportant and undeserving of much care by Yoshi. They seem to prove Yoshi right, seeing the rumors that have spread about his scandalous "blackmailing"; this only goes to intensify the feeling of disdain he feels for those who he does not explicitly care for. "Clones," Yoshi says often, "they're just clones of the same gabber-mouthed asshole that crawled out of a cave years ago.". The boy is by no means an absolute "hardass", but he can be distinctly coarse when approached by someone he doesn't care for.

Humorless, Yoshi has been critiqued and criticized for his outwardly cold and harsh approach to jokes. This attitude is only further cemented into his character by his constant scowl that has become commonplace wherever he goes. Sometimes, his face and actions betray his true feelings, finding it easier and more understandable to himself to act as he always has as opposed to trying to convey emotions he'd rather not make public. Despite how tough and concrete Yoshi seems, the boy has feelings that are so deep-rooted even if he wanted to express them, he probably wouldn't know how. Ever since the passing of his mother, Yoshi has felt this growing feeling of dread. Deep in his chest, the knowledge that high school will soon end and he shall be thrust into the world of adults only makes the fear worsen. Furthermore, this fear has assisted in an off-shoot feeling of anxiety and an increase in Yoshi's overall aggression.

In the few times he does find inner peace, Yoshi desperately clings to every detail he can that will prolong it for as much as possible before he naturally falls back into his average thought patterns. This unhealthy pattern of fearing the end of high school so deeply has provided Yoshi with no benefits and is only worsening his psyche with every day that drifts by. Yoshi's main want is to just live the life his mother had always wanted him to: "Go to school and get good grades!", seeing this as his primary, if not only, way to remember his mother.
[/div]
[div class="output biographyoutput"]
Born into a two-parent household, Yoshi was one of two children gifted unto a happy couple. Early on in life, Yoshi's mother spoiled him relentlessly; her love for her children serving to further strengthen the bond between the Okada boy and his mother. His father, meanwhile, tried his best to act as the realer, more sobering view of the world to the children. This, obviously, presented him in an unfavorable light by the children, but they still loved their father who made it clear that he loved them just as much as their mother.

Being so loved by his mother and father, it was natural that they sought to earn their child the best education that he could have. Shortly after Yoshi started going to school, his mother noticed a growing concern in her son. Overtly voicing his disdain for school, the boy's mother was called to the school often for meetings with the teachers. Fed up with Yoshi, his mother finally sat him down and had a heart-to-heart discussion with him. "My dearest little boy," She told him, "You can't take such a thing as school for granted. I only want the best for you. So please, please respect the teachers, score the highest grades you can, and make me proud! I'm counting on you." These words stuck with Yoshi, seeming to quell his bad attitude, allowing him to continue going without further incident.

It wasn't until high school that things went sour. Yoshi entered his First Year as a happy, optimistic, resilient boy who looked forward to expanding his education more and make his family proud. One of the first people he befriended (through sheer stroke of luck) was Kazuo Yoshida; completely absentmindedly butting heads with him in the hallway hard enough for both to be sent to the nurses office. This obviously led to them becoming acquaintances and then friends shortly thereafter. Later on during the First Year for Okada, he became involved in the Gardening Club (Despite the contrarian words of the other schoolkids.) alongside Kazuo. Towards the end of his First Year, Yoshi's mother was sent to the hospital after collapsing in the kitchen of the Okada household. During her stay, it was discovered that multiple tumors were found in her head, mainly located towards the Cerebellum. Furthermore, the tumors were found to have metastasized from cancer located in her kidneys. Fearing the worst, the doctors who were overseeing her case chose to keep her in care, meanwhile Yoshi's father tried his best to continue to maintain the normal family routine despite the dire circumstances.

One rainy day, just a week before Yoshi's First Year would be over, the Okada children were pulled out of school early and rushed to the hospital with their father in near-hysterics. The Okada mother had experienced a sporadic heart failure; although stabilized quickly, the family was informed that it was not likely she'd last much longer. And thus, the hospital room of the Okada mother became their home, sort of a center of operations, for the next few days. After getting off school one evening, Yoshi was getting ready to go to sleep in the sterile, pale-colored hospital room when his mother beckoned him over to her bedside. His mother exchanged her final words with him before passing away, his father barely noticing what had happened and only fully realizing it seconds later. Yoshi's sister, however, was asleep.

The change between First Year and Second was too noticeable to even lie about it. Yoshi was no longer the enthusiastic beam of light he had been in his First Year. Now he remained cold, calculated, and entirely bitter. In fact, this change of character is what brought him into a more public light, seeing as now people were increasingly cold to him as well. This mix was obviously negative to the Okada boy's overall demeanor and public opinion. Needless to say, rumors were eventually started, and Yoshi was helpless against the "scary" title people now deemed him. Halfway through Yoshi's Second Year, the boy noticed that he had become increasingly nervous and irritable. It seemed that which each day coming closer and closer to the end of the school year, Yoshi had a developing dread that simply wouldn't pry itself away from him. Once the Summer arrived, the increasing dread and anxiety simply up and went, allowing Yoshi to spend his Summer relatively unburdened, yet confused as to what he was so afraid of.

Now Yoshi is entering his Third Year. With a familiar feeling from his Second Year returning, the Okada boy merely hopes that he can uphold the mental oath he made to his mother ever since that night. The names don't bother him so much anymore, his public image doesn't garner any of his attention either. All that he cares about now is not failing school.

Yoshi is a fan of smooth drinks, sweet types of teas especially.

He posses a stark interest in Western music, particularly with experimental, punk, and jazz bands. His current favorite song is Telepathy by Crystal Castles.

Yoshi's respect for Mari is unspeakably high. Centered around her ability to assist him in maintaining good grades through extensive study periods, the boy's main interactions come through long bouts of studying with the almost-foreigner. The girl's race, however, has never been a real topic between the two as he mainly consults her for help with schoolwork. But through some simple observation of the girl, Yoshi is decidedly reserved when it comes to being cold and distant to Mari. A mix of genuine consideration for the obviously delicate girl with an unspoken gratitude for her helping him get good grades.

"Loud, bombastic, but tolerable."
Touma's presence gives a mixed feeling to Yoshi. On one hand the boy is a hound for socialization and what Yoshi would consider chaos, but on the other he is somehow tolerable to the recluse. Only really interacting through the rather energetic boy's attempts to start conversation/interact, Yoshi's eye for him holds a look of baited contempt. But given the choice between kicking him from the club or not, Yoshi would say "nay" out of tolerance.

"Lump her in with 'the other her', I guess."
Barely any opinion formed of the girl, Yoshi utilizes his meticulous nature to prevent judging Yuko before learning more about her. But from what little he does know, on behalf of Kazuo's kindness, he understands that she is along the same path of arrogance as Kazumi; or at least that they function in some similar sect. With this lack of interaction, Yoshi's friendship with Yuko is nonexistent.

Touma is a very social person, and while at first he had been seen as the typical popular guy in an anime, this is nothing more than a role he has been encouraged to play at the start. He likes being around others and making them smile, which motivated him to play this charming character since he didn't think his true self would be welcomed in a crowd. Touma had always believed that more was always better, that if he didn't have more than five friends he would be miserable. He cares a lot about how others think of him and feels uneasy when people don't like him. Whenever he finds himself in a conflict with another person, he ends up crowding them in a desperate hope to try to figure out what the problem is and wants them to explain it to him.

This is one of the reoccurring issues for Touma. He isn't exactly the brightest tool in the shed, that much he understands about himself too well. He misreads situations, and can't always tell if someone is messing with him or not. Which is why he tries so hard to understand someone, even if his attempts do more harm than good. All Touma really knows best is how he feels, and being the embarrassingly honest type of guy he is (with a pinch of drama), he is the type of person to loudly declare how he feels towards someone. He is emotionally impulsive and doesn't really think too much about what he says as long as it feels right to him.

In the past, wanting to live the dreamy high school life Touma had put on an act of a charismatic prince sort of character. He had always felt pressured by the judgments of others, but now that he is in the Gardening Club he feels more relaxed and that he is able to indulge in some of his strange quirks. From forcibly showing off his collectibles and going on long-winded rambles, to snacking on the strangest combination of food, Touma has taken a complete 180 from his former mask and gotten comfortable around this group way too quickly. This may just be due to his extroverted nature and finally having a place to chill since his previous groups had abandoned him.

The Takanashi household is a strange, but loving home that Touma couldn’t be prouder of. Touma was brought up by parents who were very passionate towards each other, and his otaku grandma. All he knew of his parent’s past was that his father met his mother during one of his filmings, and his mother used to be an actress. This, in turn, inspired Touma to pursue a career in the spotlight despite not knowing what kind of acting his mother did until later on in life. Since he was the only child, his parents felt justified in splurging on him, and even if his Grandma argued against this she also couldn’t help but spoil him as well.

Growing up, his parents often focused on his achievements to his goal over how he did academically. As long as his grades were high enough to let him play a lead role, they didn’t really focus on it as much as Touma being happy. Touma was fairly popular in middle school; either people adored him or just found him to be annoying either way, he was known in the school. Teasing was inevitable for him, not that he seemed to notice that much since the support he had in his life outweighed whatever negative words others said to him.

When a new girl transferred into his classroom, Touma was picked to show her around and help the girl adjust to the school. Being the social addict he was, Touma had decided that the two would be friends. Which was how Mari entered his life, and although he never understood why she was so sad when she first arrived at their school, he understood that he liked seeing her smile. Slowly, Touma had drifted from his large group of friends, learning the value of a strong friendship with Mari.

Touma had always planned on what high school he wanted to go to, it was an all boys academy school that focused on the fine arts. Of course, if he picked that, he’d be separated from his best girlfriend. In the end, he had convinced himself that he probably wouldn’t have gotten accepted into the school and settled for Hokusei so they could keep going to school together.

Touma deleted his original Chunmi "@_TToumaLive<3"

There are some things Touma misreads or just mispronounces, which leads him to avoid saying these words or even names sometimes. If someone's name is hard to say for him, he avoids it by using nicknames or just their last name if it is easier for him. He also refers to Chunmi as Chumi.

Touma is a sucker for cute things and hoards a variety of collectibles. Sometimes he collects things from anime or manga simply for the aesthetic before even realizing these items are from anything.

He only really knows how to make rice balls and "soup" on his own. They're typically fruit induced or include some sort of desert-based ingredient, and his "soups" are actually just smoothies in a bowl.

Touma watches a lot of tv dramas and fans over certain actors and actresses. He wants to be famous just like them when he grows up, whether it's acting or singing, possibly both since he considers that to be a double threat. Triple if you factor in modeling.

Touma is very grateful towards Kazu for inviting him into his club with Mari. They seem to get along pretty well and Touma enjoys offering Kazu help wherever he needs it, regardless if it relates to the club or not.

Normally Touma wouldn't get close to someone like Yoshi, but since they're in the same club he figured he'd try to extend a hand of friendship . . . Even if it gets rejected. Although Touma isn't as close as he would like to be with Yoshi, he still looks out for him to make sure he doesn't get in trouble when he loses his cool.

Despite Ren's reclusive nature, Touma still seeks out a meaningful friendship with him. He can be a bit overbearing towards Ren since he thinks he is lonely and doesn't understand that Ren just needs some personal space.

[div class="output personalityoutput"]Bright and friendly is the guise worn to mask a weak-willed, dependent parasite. From young Mari was a painfully shy girl. And by nature, she is as obedient as she is kind. The open-minded child has an elastic heart, too easily wounded by judging stares and baseless rumors. Despite a loving foundation built by her parents, the loneliness felt by an only child created a void that needed acceptance from peers to fill.
The acceptance she sought wasn't always the healthiest.

Anxious and easily discouraged, and always wanting to please made her an easy target for bullying. It was her greatest misfortune that she was, but her silver lining came within her adversity. The bullying was a blessing in disguise, which lead to her meeting with Yuto. Their encounter was the ray within the storm. Ren was just a bonus.

It was with these two that Mari began to develop a personality of self. From timid, she mimicked courage and found the social skills needed to maneuver through the faceless humanity. From Ren, she stole independence and the art of being a friend with solitude. Through their friendship, Mari became the chameleon she is now. A leech hidden by layers of guilt and self-loathing has her attached to her Iris.

Stubbornness and tenacity has her constant at his side; albeit it is less than simply enjoying one's company and more of her proving a point to herself. She wasn't going to fail him. Not this time.

And despite the intimacy she shares with Iris, Mari continues to keep her secrets. She always has, always will.

[div class="output biographyoutput"]Akiyama Mari, or Mary Akiyama, her English mother would call her while her Japanese father would correct in loving tones with equal sternness. In black and white the letter Y scrawls beautifully after "r" but on any other written text, whether it be her school books or tests, a dotted 'i' sits in replacement; a simple translation from English to Japanese, just as her father likes it. Traditional and true to her Japanese roots, despite the fact that she takes after the appearance of her blonde hair, blue eyed mother.

As the only child, Mary is doted and beloved. She's favored by her all-too-kind, perhaps a bit ditzy, mother and disciplined by her honest, hard-working, proud to be Japanese, father. Given her appearance which takes mainly after her mother, Mary is often mistaken as a tourist or transfer student, when in truth, she was born and raised in Japan all her life, never having stepped foot outside the country (yet).

In middle school, she was bullied due to her race and her weak-willed personality; however, despite this she still managed to forge two close connections with Yuto Asahi and Maezono Ren. She flourished under their care and the trio were inseparable until death whisked her dear friend away. Things were never the same since.

Mari moved a week after the funeral, unable to deal with the guilt of her loss. Starting from ground zero again, she met Touma who reached out to her and pulled her under his wing. It was because of Touma that Mari joined, not only Hokusei Gakuen but the infamous Gardening Club.

[div class="output miscellaneousoutput"]➢ Mari has some knowledge in traditional Japanese customs and history because of her father. From stories of the samurai braves to the art of traditional tea making, such information is planted and tucked into her mind, collecting dust until the day of needed use.

➢ A small mole rests underneath her left eye. She also has really long fingers which her piano teacher praised her once for. She dropped piano at grade 3, having taken classes up on a whim when she was younger.

➢ Mari suffers mildly from bouts of social anxiety. Most are self-induced, usually triggered when Touma overlaps with Yuto.

$"the less I know, the better."

Kazuo's the sore spot Mari does her best to avoid all in futile attempts because of his "playful" interactions with Touma. While Touma doesn't seem to mind the bullying, Mari takes his actions to heart. Her relations with him is that of an angry cat to a dog. While it isn't entirely bad, it's nothing pleasant either.

When Touma's not present to catalyst their interaction, they keep things to mere formalities. Due to social circles, Mari became acquainted with Kazuo long before Touma did; and even then, she found him strange.
#daffodil
$"probably bad for my mental health."

It's needless to say that Mari is intimidated by Kasumi's sharp tongue and fearsome personality. She guises her fear well by always being respectful around the girl, giving her no reason for a verbal lashing. Like Kazuo, she keeps Kasumi at an arm's length distance---that is, until Touma came to play.

There are times where her jealousy would flare and Mari would swallow her discomfort to stay by her freesia's side. Past experiences has helped prevent her from being a complete pushover and when needed, Mari would stand her ground against Kasumi. For now, she is content in keeping things distant and polite, neither going out of her way to offend nor befriend.
#erica
$"out of sight, out of mind."

An estranged relationship highly wired on misunderstandings ridden with guilt and shame. Mari avoids Ren like the plague and struggles to meet his eye due to the history they share. To be alone with him makes her skin prick in hives. She's much prone to running away from him if given the chance to.

Somewhere deep down, she longs for reconciliation but is too far in her self-hatred to give herself even that.
#iris
$"the sun, the moon, the stars."

The word love cannot begin to describe the deep affections Mari holds for Touma. For someone whom she calls 'hers', the blonde displays a level of selflessness that has one questioning the foundation of her loyalties.

It was because of Touma that Mari joined the Gardening Club, despite everything (mostly Ren's existence) telling her not to. She would go through great lengths for the male, ensuring his happiness and well-being.

The motive is passed off as simple fondness but in truth, it stems from deep-rooted separation anxiety caused by the death of Yuto. Touma is the one who saved Mari from the abyss. To her, he's her savior.

(And perhaps, even a shadow of what Yuto once was.)
#hydrangea
$"how lucky."

Mari finds Kaida's confidence and reputation enviable. She looks to the girl in admiration but not to the point of imitation. Her vanity is a flaw that sticks out like a sore thumb and that gives room for the blonde to reflect.

Like Kasumi, Mari is neither hostile or affectionate towards Kaida, instead choosing to keep courteous affability.
#primrose
$"let those who talk, talk. I'll believe what I see for myself."

Being friends with Touma, Mari is more than used to having rumors circulate around those she chooses to associate herself with. Because of this and the truths she's learned through experiences, Yoshi's reputation had little affect on her and she offered her aid without prejudice. Her open-mindedness led her to a friendship, almost discipleship, with the boy and she finds satisfaction in being able to help him with his studies.

His diligence inspires her to work harder as well and she could only wish Touma had half the heart as Yoshi did. Their relationship is one built on mutual respect and trust. Despite his flaring temper, Mari could consider Yoshi a friend.

[div class="output personalityoutput"]It would be a major flaw that Kasumi would never want to admit, but she's a big coward. She's insecure about many things considering she has no idea what she is great at, lost in her search for her true individuality, desperate for genuine relationships, and frustrated with people. But to mask her fear and desperation, Kasumi utilizes a demeanor of haughtiness. Ironically she can empathize with those who are insecure and have unstable self-esteems yet she chooses to inflict hurt upon them. But this is not to say that at the end of the day Kasumi does not feel guilt, rather she is burdened with guilt and shame. The very thing that her sister is, she became; despite the hate she had for Sakura.

Kasumi is quick-witted and acerbic when she is in a bad mood, but when she is calm Kasumi keeps to herself. When she can, Kasumi tries to avoid people since she does not want to place unnecessary pain on others. But again this is only when she is calm. Which is usually only about 1/3 of the school day.

Aside from her inner turmoil of becoming the dark side of her sister, Kasumi is rather attentive and considerate of her surroundings. The girl tries to embrace all moments of her life, good and bad, because she wants to have stories to share to any future relationships she hopes to have. She also has great creativity and intuition. While it may not seem like it, Kasumi can usually read people well from expressions and nonverbal signals.[/div]
[div class="output biographyoutput"]Kasumi Aoki, a name not often heard or said amidst her peers. There was nothing remarkable about Kasumi that stood out. She was rather mediocre. Which didn't help that the young girl often lied low during school events and trips. She didn't want to outwardly broadcast to people that she wanted attention when in truth she yearned for it. Reason for the hypocrisy is that she didn't want the attention of others solely for the association of her sister, Sakura Aoki. Often the ones who did approach her wanted to know something about Sakura or even try to contact her because of her popularity. Sakura Aoki was that star child, like in the anime, with great looks, stellar grades, admirable athleticism, and friendly demeanor. She was the perfect girl. At least to those who saw her surface. Kasumi knew better, she knew of Sakura's bitchy side.

So it bothered her when her parent's compared her to Sakura as well as any people she considered a friend. They didn't realize how fake she was. Kasumi tried to reveal her, but no one believed her. After several attempts, Kasumi gave in. She saw no use in trying to do anything. All she was going to be known for was being Sakura's sister.

To add to the situation, Kasumi is a middle child so she often was not heard and rather criticized and commanded. She had personal goals and ambitions that were squished under her older sister's activities. Her parents often placed them together into the same activities because of their closeness of age, being 20 months apart. Then on the other end her younger brother was simply spoiled. Just because he was the youngest, a boy, and a survivor from a difficult birth.

Being left in the middle where there's no chance of receiving any attention from her parents and then not really being noticed in school, Kasumi's desire for attention began to turn into desperation. Through her desperation came anger to where she made her first lash out at a classmate. The attention it brought her fed her. Everyone finally saw that is was Kasumi Aoki doing something, not Sakura Aoki. It fueled her to do more. Which then came to when she entered high school. Her older sister was still excelling in her grade but Kasumi became petty and began to put down others since she had no self-esteem of her own and wanted to simply tarnish a bit of her sister's reputation without really keeping her own in mind. But having her reputation to be known as a bitch didn't bother Kasumi. In fact she decided to stick to it since it was bringing attention to her from not only her peers but her parents as well, plus she felt that if her sister was not going to be true to herself, then Kasumi might as well embody it for her. If she must become petty then so be it.[/div]
[div class="output miscellaneousoutput"]~ Not many know of this skill that Kasumi possesses aside from her younger brother, but Kasumi is an excellent cook.

~ She actually stole a classroom pet in grade school. Kasumi lied and told everyone that the rabbit had run away. 8 years later and Sir George is living happily under Kasumi's care.

~ If her sister had not been there to discourage her, Kasumi would have embraced and showed off her excellent singing. But because Kasumi had actually found something she was better at than her sister, Sakura saw it as a truth to be hidden. Now Kasumi holds much insecurity on the quality of her singing, but when she is alone the girl cannot help but find herself singing a few tunes. [/div]
[div class="output rrolearray"]Freesia$Also having grown up in the shadow of older siblings, Kasumi feels as if Kazuo is one of the very few souls in the school that could truly understand her. But she won't outright show her desperation for empathy from someone else. She does however admire how he found himself to be his own individual without any resentment towards his brothers, which compared to her she couldn't. Because of the different paths they took in similar situations Kasumi is fascinated by the boy and joined the Hokusei Gardening Club to observe him more and plus no other club really wanted to deal with her.#Gardenia$Because of her friendship to Touma, Kasumi is also somewhat jealous of Mari. But she is also suspicious of the girl as well. Either her envious feelings corrupt her intuition or Kasumi is slowly becoming crazy, but the girl's guts are telling her that the girl has many secrets. Kasumi is aware that everyone has secrets but Mari appears too innocent in Kasumi's eyes. She recognizes Touma and Mari as her classmates and clubmates and has some interactions with them. But she also likes to keep her distance at times to try and read others for her sake. Mari being one of her main targets.#Erica$Kasumi knows of Ren and his current status of transfer student. She speculates a mysterious past from the boy which further pries her curiosity of him. But she also holds some pity for the boy in the shell he keeps himself to. This does not mean she sees him any differently from others in school. In fact she is rather fascinated in how the boy would rather not receive attention when for years she yearned for it. Kasumi at this point can only call him a classmate.#Iris$If there is one thing about Touma that Kasumi can say about the boy is that he pisses her off. Not that they had any confrontations or disagreements in the past rather she is jealous of the boy. He in some form had a similar popular status like her sister yet she doesn't envy him for the attention rather that he's just a stable and great individual. Compared to other people she has facts on, he is rather someone everyone wants to be a friend with and that bothers her since she at some point wanted to be that. But with her sister in the picture it was impossible. If there ever came a time where anyone would try to spread a bad word about Touma, Kasumi would be sure to quell it. #Hydrangea$WIP#Primrose$As a student in Hokusei High School, Kasumi has absorbed the rumors circulating around Yoshi. While she can be like one of the masses and believe, she is rather curious of the boy. She wants to see what he truly is. After all he appears to be a boy with a "scary" rumor attached to him. If this rumor is true, Kasumi would rather have a truth to help protect her if there ever came the time she had to confront a boy in a serious situation. But because of his distant attitude, Kasumi does not usually see the need to interact with him besides a few times in the club when need be.[/div]

[div class="output personalityoutput"]Loud, proud, and in your face, Kaida is a lass who is everything but crass. A girl who knows what she wants, when she wants it, Kaida is dauntless. She fears nothing, and no one, but at the same time is also very careful not to start things she cannot clean up. And while she may be a teeny tiny bit short tempered and a tad protective, Kaida does her best to be a 'good' girl, even if she isn't a 'good' girl.

Not one to pay too much attention to other's opinions, always willing to allow someone to fuel her ego- Kaida enjoys praise. She won't lie, it feels great. It's uh like...sex? Yeah, let's go with that. It's like that! She doesn't mind being praised but lay it a little too thick and that's when the eyebrow starts to raise. If there's one thing she's learned about people, it's that everyone wants something for free, and no one wants to work for anything. And hard-work is what she's all about. Even if her jovial attitude and in your space actions come off as her being care-free, rash, and intrusive make no mistake Kaida is a girl of smarts. Even if she likes acting like she's all looks and no major brain.

Looks are fine, she won't doubt that. Her vanity still is there even if she's learned from her past that being vain and soaking up popularity isn't everything. But, looks aren't everything. And she's grown to become quite disinterested in people who only gun after her for her looks in general. Comments such as: "Ayy gurl, lookin' fine tonight!" or even "Awoooooooo! Bow-chika-wow-wow!" are all fine and dandy, but if anything....they start to get on her nerves.

And building up anger isn't something she likes to do. So if she has to relieve a bit of stress? She has no problem being a jerk now and then. Just as long as it's towards people who rub her the wrong way in particular.[/div]
[div class="output biographyoutput"]A descendant of West African heritage, the child of British man and Japanese woman, and the younger fraternal twin of Ichiro Wright, Kaida Valiere Wright was born in Birmingham, England on a late Friday night, three minutes after her brother in April.

The third born child to four other siblings, three girls, one boy, Kaida grew up in England with parents who weren't always at home from her infancy to near pre-pubescence so it was up to Kiyoko -the eldest daughter of the Wright's- to watch over her siblings along with her mother's younger brother Dai. Just a average Japanese guy who liked making goofy faces and telling really really bad jokes over the phone. Needless to say, Kiyoko wasn't the best baby sitter. Kaida and Ichiro were quite a handful, so in retrospect it is possible one couldn't completely blame her. Especially not when the youngest of the family willingly followed the twin duo into the rambunctious shenanigans they were quite fond of pulling as kids; whether it was jumping over chairs, wrestling each other into the ground-- wrestling matches that Kaida always won but something Ichiro would never admit defeat to because of stubbornness--

or just simple dumb pranks that went from 'wow' to 'oh god, no!'. And while Kiyoko was prone to easily be frustrated over her siblings antics, it was always nice to see Uncle Dai have a good laugh at everyone's (even his own) expense.

Yes, life while young was grand. Uncle Dai visited quite a bit when the twins were young, but as time went on and they got older, Uncle Dai stopped babysitting more and more and Mom and Dad started spending less and less time outside. Mom was a journalist so she wasn't always around at night but Dad was a business manager that dealt in shipping and handling and could sometimes spend a few days to stay at home with the kids when he wasn't too busy in a meeting or managing things Kaida didn't really care to listen to when he explained. Eventually there came a time where Uncle Dai stopped visiting at all and while this greatly saddened the family, for reasons that Kaida was not much aware of, Uncle Dai still called when he could. And somehow, that made the lack of his visits all the more better, and quelled the rather disappointed and negative thoughts that tended to stew in little Kaida's mind.

Life moved on, and so did she.

At nine years old, Kaida had become aware of many changes in her body. Changes that started somewhere when she was eight or nine. She wasn't sure what it was about her that had grown -perhaps her chest or maybe she was just a little taller than a few of the guys in her class- but she noticed that it would occasionally get her some attention from the boys and oddly enough, some of the girls. Back then things like romance was just plain icky (at least to Ichiro it was a 'meh') while things like envy was foreign, but Kaida found the attention she received to be a bit embarrassing and also made her a tad self-conscious. Talking about it to mom was difficult because mom wasn't always around and talking about it to Ichiro, even though they told each other everything, was simply impossible because he didn't fully get stuff like this.

Plus he wasn't a girl. So...yeah...

Since Dad and Ichiro were out, Kiyoko was Kaida's savior. Oh and what a savior Kiyoko was. At nine years old, Kaida had puberty explained to her by her big sister in the simplest way that made sense to her. And for some odd reason, Kaida took pride in the acknowledgement she received. That pride got bigger as she got older. And as her pride got bigger....so did other things as well.

Eleven and a half, Kaida was no longer a mortal. No, she was a goddess.

A goddess with beauty. She was no Aphrodite, oh no, no. She was better than Aphrodite. Hotter, smarter, and... she wasn't a total bitch. Kaida had climbed only two years of puberty and she flaunted her good looks in the fifth grade like a boss and had eyes following her every step as she strutted like a beautiful peacock down the tiled hall floors. Yes, Kaida had grown into her good looks much like her brother was growing into his and unlike him, where he was content with just walking by with a perpetual dull, bored expression, Kaida took her good looks and she flaunted them for all she was worth.

Was she vain? Your damn she was. Did it feel good? HECK YEAH, you can bet it did!

Until one day....one day... she made the wrong friends.

Popularity was a thing in Paul's Prime School. It was a intoxicating thing. One Kaida and Ichiro found themselves wrapped up in. They were good looking. She was average in class, but had a great memory in history, he was excellent in math, English and literature, but found history boring. They were each other's opposites to a degree, but they were so very close. Family and making friends, meant everything to Kaida. And she looked forward to the trip where they were promised they would get to visit her mother's distant family in their village out in Japan.

Ichiro was more of a loner, had few friends, had fewer people he enjoyed talking to. Kaida was an extrovert, had many friends, had few people she disliked.

A group of these friends, unknown to her, didn't like her brother. All because a month or so back, he had turned down two of the girls in her niche who had confessed they had crushes on him in the most apathetic manner imaginable. Rejection hurt. And sometimes it made people bitter. Kaida wasn't aware of it, but the reason her brother didn't get many friends in the fifth grade- was because some of the girls in school had been spreading rumors about him. Bad rumors. And he had vowed never to let Kaida know.

Kaida, you see had a terrible temper. When riled up she could get physical. Very physical. Dangerously physical, that there were times she'd black out and not remember what she'd done. There was once a time she'd gotten furious at her uncle for a prank he'd pulled that she didn't receive well and she bit him hard enough to shout. It was a time Ichiro would not forget. He had had to help his uncle bandage the wound, while Kiyoko tried to calm a sobbing Kaida down.

Kaida while not the most astute, was aware something was up with her brother's social life. She tried to intervene once, and he had asked her to drop it. A year, then two went by and they were both thirteen- in middle school now with some of the members of their class. In that time frame, Ichiro had grown distant with his sister. It pained Kaida, and at the same time it made her angry. She talked to her friends, Marietta and Louise. They sympathized with her, they were her closest friends, but also the best of liars. They sympathized with her, but they despised him.

While Ichiro had rejected them, Kaida had comforted them. He left a bitter sting in their hearts and she made it better with her obliviousness and friendship. The three were close, and they got closer as the days grew longer and the gap between brother and sister got stronger- till one day... Kaida saw Marietta coming from the boys locker section. It was odd to see, but the three of them had always been a promiscuous bunch, even if sneaking the occasional peek got them in serious trouble. It was worth it.

That is till trouble came in the form of Coach calling her big bro out the next day, and drilling him for a prank he pulled in front of the whole class. It'd been bad. Made to run the whole field twice while the class watched. Then after that he had to go clean up a mess he had made to the school's gym supply. Marietta and Louise were not so good in hiding their smile's, and that's when the switch flicked on, and everything started to make sense. This wasn't the first time things like this had happened, it'd been going on for years. Since the 5th Grade all the way up to the 7th.

Kaida didn't know when- but all she remembered was punching Louise in the nose and chasing Marietta like the devil was after them both. Oh Marietta was a runner, but so was she. Track was something they both participated in. And while Marietta was faster, she lacked stamina. Stamina that if she'd had could've saved her from Kaida's tackle. From there, the only thing she remembers is cursing, slapping, screaming, then being pulled awhile while trying to kick Marietta while she was down.

At some point she'd been punched or hit also, but she didn't really care. Blood was pounding in her ears too much and all she could think of was every single time she'd seen her brother come back from some sort of incident like this, look her in the eye with those friends of hers and just give her that warm, oblivious smile.

Kaida was suspended for a week. And her friendship died on that very day.

Eighteen months later, Japan. Kaida had learned a lot in a year and a half. Like how if she'd been older things could've exacerbated to possible court. She'd also learned more about her family background.

Burakumin. It was a term associated outcasts. A term she found both ironic and fitting. Coming to Japan was supposed to be a restart. A pick-me-up. Kaida found that Izumi, her mother's family, were very nice. And she appreciated it greatly.

She did not look forward to starting school, Ichiro didn't seem pleased either and neither did Megumin, their little sister. But, life happened. And at the very least, it was good to know Uncle Dai would be visiting them in their new home.[/div]
[div class="output miscellaneousoutput"]- Despite having been in Japan for nearly two years, Kaida still tends to refer to people by their first name. She obviously doesn't do this to teachers or other adults, but she tries not to do it to other classmates. There are times it slips.

- Ichiro and Kaida tend to hang out around Lunch time and Kaida can most often be found hanging out with her brother around those times.

[div class="output rrolearray"]Erica$Ren very much reminds Kaida of her older twin Ichiro. It took one interaction and already he's avoiding her and while she does find that horribly rude and rather off-putting, it also saddens her just a tad.

The way he acts very much reminds her of the way Ichiro acted. Avoiding her. Only in this case, it's not really to protect her from the situation. It's more of just...plain rude.#Freesia$They've talked once or twice, but if Kaida were being honest she couldn't recall much of the conversations they had. There was always something about the way Kazuo smiled or a joke she'd make and he'd laugh at that always just seemed... well, hard to say. Off?

Yeah...just off.#Primrose$"Rumors, bloomers", is the only thing Kaida has to say about the rumors relating to Primrose. You hear one rumor, you hear 'em all. She shrugs with a cocky grin and a shake of her head from side to side.

When you've been popular in the past you know how things go. And when you've been on the bad end of things once, you get pretty familiar with how sour school can really be.#Iris$Word has it that Touma has a Garden? And apparently he's taken real care of this Garden and done her a real kindness. If Kaida were being honest? It does her heart warm to hear that. Not a lotta guys would take a girl like that and treat her right. If anything, the guy's good in her books and he'll be in for one heckuva hug when she sees him.#Gardenia$Word has it... this flower is very close to her caretaker. As a girl whose had her share of admirers both in Japan and out, Kaida's heard a few things in the crowd that is school that makes her wonder what the girl is like.

Thoughts tend to wander if she'd also be fun to tease...hmmm.#Daffodil$[/div]
