[Gaius Danius Griinia]

It was a dark night, the only lighting owed to the luminous moon in the sky. On this night, a lone woman tiredly walks to her car. The parking complex is five stories high and made of reinforced steel and concrete. Checking through her mobile phone, the holographic display showed the many texts sent to her by an impatient mother. Sighing loudly, she finally made it to her vehicle. Opening the door and getting in, she slumped against the wheel for a second before turning on her side. The moment she did, she saw a horrific looking creature snarling and staring at her through the window. Shrieking in terror and recoiling, the monster covered its ears before shrieking in response. Grasping the door handle, the monster tore it off and hissed with a mildly digitized timber. The woman tried to crawl out her door and escape, but she was grabbed and thrown by the monster into a support pillar. The impact was enough to knock the wind out of her, coughing up blood in response. It then trashed her car before slowly advancing toward her, the monster raised one of its clawed hands, each finger as sharp as a razor. On the verge of blacking out, the woman couldn't fight the tears forming in her eyes. As it went to vivisect her, something miraculous happened. Thrown back by some kind of energized force, the woman could barely make out a hole in its metallic shell. Several quick blasts of energy followed up the first, some of which left smaller holes in the creature. Looking over in the direction of the shots, the woman could barely make out the shape of a humanoid. Soon a flock of bats flew from the shadows, their cacophonous high pitched screeching unnerving her. Walking out of the darkness was a young man. He looked to be barely out of his teens, dressed in a dark outfit. Sunglasses with dark red lenses covered his eyes, his expression stern. Raising his hand, his firearm was something the woman had never seen before. "Target located, made it just in time. So, you're one of the Hunter Drones that attacks people? I'll make this quick then" said the young man as he reached for something in his jacket.

Wailing in a mixture of pain and anger, the monster reached into his biggest wound and pulled out a series of small metallic capsules. Throwing them to the ground, the capsules assumed a liquid form and transfigured themselves into a group of pale skinned, zombie-like underlings. The young man simply aimed at the womans car and shot at her radio unit. While it was already wrecked from being trashed, he somehow got it to work. Soon the radio blared to life in its broken state and began playing a popular song that had just resurfaced from over three decades ago. From his pants pocket, the youth pulled a peculiar looking object out. He pressed its top and it unfolded into a shape that looked like a scarlet wolf. Flicking his wrist, the gun opened up where the handle met the hammer and barrel. He inserted the wolf into the dangling end and reconnected the two together. Three times he twirled the gun before firing it at the creatures. A detailed holographic emblem of a wolf appeared in front of him before passing over his body. A strange bodysuit of a deep red appeared on his body, with a helmet akin to a wolf solidifying on his head shortly after. The monsters ran at him, only to be shot down with surprising speed. Even more of these slim creatures appeared, some managing to knock him around like a ragdoll. Getting up, the young man flicked his firearm upward. Then he twisted it around, a blade projecting itself from the barrel. Twirling the gun-sword three times like before, he blocked the attacks of two before slicing down three more. Just managing to keep her eyes on the fight in front of her. The woman witnessed this youth expertly cut down the last of the monsters before pointing his blade at their creator and charging. Shrieking with its broken technological voice, it blocked his attack and punched him in the gut. With a single uppercut, it knocked him into the reinforced concrete ceiling. When he landed, the monster just stomped onto his chest. Kicking it in the face, the young man rolled away from the attacks. Then it did something unexpected, he ran away. While at first she thought he had given up, she noticed it following him. Struggling to her feet, she ran after the two. While what she was doing was admittedly moronic, she wanted to see the outcome of the fight. Arriving at the top, she saw the two foes trade blows at increasing speed. Back and forth, blade against fist. Finally, she saw the young man slide under a punch and dash behind his foe. He slammed down on the hammer of his gunblade three times before stabbing it into the ground. Placing his middle fingers down on both hands, he brought them inward as dark clouds began to gather. The moon itself soon turned red as he jumped onto the butt of his sword and shot into the air. Backflipping from his elevated position, he broke into a flying kick that was wreathed in a red aura. Striking the monster, he passed through it as the creature exploded into shards of metal that then disintegrated. Landing on his feet, he waved at her before leaping off the building. Running to the edge to find her savior, she only found the whistling wind.

Fifth Demon King Etienne Oror Advantage sat atop his throne and sighed. Today was the day he assembled the Yuusharanger, an elite team comprised of champions from multiple races. These people were chosen by the Divine Beasts known now as the "Yuusha Mecha" to act as a unit with the objective of destroying the Neo-Hunters. The Neo-Hunters were a terrorist group of unknown origin that had made their presence known by blowing up an apartment complex dedicated to a prominent Magic Goat politician. They soon began sending their android minions to attack people and destroy anything that promoted Human/Monster relations. This was when his grandfather, the Dragon Sage Izuru Kamukura told him of the MaouRanger. They were a team of heroes led by Etienne's own biological grandfather, that defeated the ancient race known as the Leviathan. Utilizing the technology left behind by the MaouRanger and the Rider Systems that Woz and Grandpa Izuru had created. The Yuusha Changers and Yuusha Mecha were soon crafted and ready for use. Grandpa Izuru then sent out the Yuusha Mecha to choose their heroes, as was custom for "Demon Beasts". Suprisingly, they all chose their champions rather quickly. Even Etiennes own son, Theo was chosen as a Yuusharanger. Out of all of his children, Etienne saw that Theo struggled for direction in life. Leon chose the path of a Ninja, Fiore wanted to be a Magus and even little Richelieu knew he wanted to be a Photographer. So when Crimson Fenris chose Theo, Etienne was delighted. However, the moment he got his fancy new gunblade; he ran off to fight monsters. Today was supposed to be the day the team met up and got to know one another. Then again, Theo was an Advantage. Etienne would be hypocritical if he denied having been similar in his youth. His attendant, Kage soon appeared from the shadows. It seemed as if the other four had arrived...

Daniel was incredibly nervous and kept pacing around the waiting room. After all he was not only going to meet a king but the other chosen of the Yuusha Mecha as well, the people he would be fighting alongside. The fact he was the first to arrive didn't exactly help his nerves either since it meant he might have to wait for a long time before the meeting finally started without anyone to talk to. Eventually he took out his Yuusha Changer and looked at the small device. If he didn't know for a fact what it was capable of he would never believe that something that small could all do that. The technology and magic that went in to making it had to be insanely advanced, he shuddered to think what would happen if those Neo-Hunters got their hands on it.

Not for the first time he wondered why Dawon chose him, no doubt a demon or even a full Elf would be stronger, but on the other hand they were fighting "monster" hating terrorists and showing that humans and supernatural creatures can work together might have factored in the selection. He decided to stop wondering and ask about that later. Not wanting to make a poor first impression when the others showed up he sat down and id his bets to look calm, which he didn't pull off exactly due to him constantly tapping his fingers on the armrest. At least he wasn't pacing anymore when the door opened.

Lilica E. Leviathan, the daughter of Leviathan of The Seven, unbeknownst to many, stepped forward. She was close to adulthood by human standards, but as a full-fledged demon, she was still young, a little hatchling, a fish fry destined to be culled by predators, or at least, that would've been her fate by now if she wasn't the rightful heir to the title of Ruler of Envy and Queen of the Seas.

As Lilica entered the room, she took out the device dubbed the 'Yuusha Charger'. While others examined it closely and carefully, a grin composing of various sharp teeth appeared on her mouth. She just waved it around, then looked towards the others in the room. From the looks of things, she wasn't flinching one bit from the ominous aura of the room, which was natural when you practically grew around it.

"Aaaayyy! What's up, everyone? Good day? Good day. Good," Lilica says as she sits on a seat next to Daniel, "so, we doing intros first or briefing first?"

Oh, how he would love to see the faces of his beloved family right about now. If they knew he was going to one day be chosen by a Yuusha Mecha, they would collectively lose their minds. Being here now however, just about to step through the door, he feels the cold sweat drip from his brow. He's nervous, though who wouldn't be? What if... what if he wasn't up to their standard? He knows the Emerald Garuda chose him- him, a human with his past at that! -for a reason, yet Joseph still can't shake such thoughts out of his head. If it meant that he could rid evil like the Neo-Hunters however, he'll be brave and fight against them.

A glance at the Yuusha Changer in his hand and a few deep breaths, Joseph steps through the door.

Inside the room were already two of the others. While not what he expected, they must be good people if they were chosen. "Yo. This is where the YuushaRangers are meeting right? The name's Joseph and as you can tell," he held his charger up, "I happen to be chosen and I assume you guys are too. Pleasure to meet you guys, let's get along. Now, what're your names?" While he displayed a laid-back tone of voice, he was anything but. His movements were far too stiff as he sat down. Hopefully he didn't come off as too forward or anything like that.

Vallith "Val" Skamos confidently walked forward into the room to meet the strange people that form her new team. Her outfit includes a sleeveless dark blue top, matching skirt, and black boots. Noticing the Yuusha chargers in the hands of the other people she decides to pull out her own. The group seems interesting a water demon female which is obvious when you notice the girl's shark tail, a human male, and what appears to be a hybrid male based on his horns.

"My name is Vallith Skamos, but you can call me Val or Warrior of the azure shadow Yuusha Blue". She did a few poses as she said warrior and stopped after the she said blue. She never understood why she dose those poses when she says that but it just feels natural and she can't really stop herself from doing them. "So it looks these boys are a bit shy around cute demon girls whatever shall we do?" she says in a jokingly flirty voice.

Demon King Etienne Advantage was notified that the others had arrived. So he sent Kage ahead to retrieve Theo for the briefing. He opened the door to the makeshift throne-room and had the team ushered in. This was only the Netherworld Embassy in Sumaru City after all, it was just somewhere for him to meet the team. King Etienne himself wasn't anything impressive. Many would hear the tales of the powerful Kamen Rider Crown who "Defeated the Hunters and paved the way for Human/Monster peace" and expect something great. However right now King Etienne looked like a regular affluent person. Dressed in his dark suit made from magical spider thread and his azure coat transformed from dragonscales, one could even call him NOBLE. Looking over the chosen, Etienne was a tad confused by the choices but he trusted in his grandfathers words. "Good Evening all, I do hope I haven't disrupted anyones sleep schedules. I am Etienne Oror Advantage, Fifth Demon King of the Netherworld and Leader of the Multi-Realm Alliance. As you probably know already, the five of you have bested the creatures known as Mecha in combat and earned the powers of a Yuusharanger. Daniel, your skill in combat has earned you the title of Yuusha Black. Vallith, your speed and agility has made you our pick to be Yuusha Blue. Joseph, you sought new horizons; now seek many more as Yuusha Green. Lilica, your wit and determination has solidified your place as Yuusha Yellow" said Etienne as he walked across the gathered youths. Upon assignment of their colors, a holographic image of their partner mecha appeared behind above them. Then walking through the door was Kage and Theo, the young Advantage looking confusedly at the others in front of him. "Finally, Theo. You sought to forge your own destiny. Continue to find your path as the teams leader, Yuusha Red" continued Etienne as the image of Crimson Fenris appeared above his son.

"The group known as the Neo-Hunters have been the ones responsible for the recent string of terrorist attacks on both Human and Monster livelihoods. Their first attack was the apartment complex dedicated to the recently deceased politician, Senator Goat. He was one of the first to make steps toward Human/Monster integration. Their plans became more elaborate, more deadly afterwards. Just two nights ago, they launched an attack on WozLabs in the Progress District. As you know, WozLabs is the organization that first capitalized on ManaTech products, advanced technological devices powered by supernatural means. Many thought this to be their protest of the labs full staff integration policy or just another attack to disable a major lab. This is completely false, a lie perpetuated by the media. In truth, they stole something. They stole a memory drive containing years worth of research and study on the technology on the original Hunters. The attack was just a way to cover their true objective. It is not an exaggeration to say that the information on that memory drive could prove CATASTROPHIC to our way of life. As for the formation of this team, there is a reason. The technology currently in the possession of the Neo-Hunters allows them to create androids with strength that our regular military cannot combat without devolving into warfare. A strike team was required, one that could act as a small unit capable of combating the Neo-Hunters and their androids without the need for an army. This is why WozLabs and the Dragon Sage cooperated to create the Yuusha Changers. After which we sent off the Mecha they are tied to in order to locate suitable Yuusharanger... which is why you're here now. Any questions?" said Etienne as he leaned against a table.

Not long after Daniel sat down the first other person came in, a girl seemingly around and much more calm. She almost acted like she was used to meeting with royalty. Before he could ask if that was truly the case, rumor had it one of the Demon King's children was chosen after all, she surprised with a question of her own. "So, we doing intros first or briefing first?" The question showed that she likely wasn't related to Etienne and Daniel's first impression was that she wasn't that bright since if the briefing was first he wouldn't be alone. Before he said anything though he realized that there could be separate briefings for each member. "Don't know actually, I've only seen castle staff so far."


Before he had the chance nervously start tapping his armrest again, the door opened, providing a distraction. This time the newcomer was a human, who going by his movements seemed as nervous as he was. Daniel was actually a bit relieved by that. It was good to see he wasn't the only one feeling slightly uncomfortable. "Now what're your names?" "I'm Daniel and you? He listened to their introductions but there wasn't time to discuss much else as the door opened again.

This time it was presumably a full blooded demon and Daniel was willing to bet his last dollar her Ranger color was blue. Her introduction quickly proved him right though he wondered if there was any risk of controversy about a blue skinned demon being a blue ranger. He didn't get much time to continue his train of thought due to what Val said though. "So it looks these boys are a bit shy around cute demon girls whatever shall we do?" While she wasn't wrong about him being nervous it had very little to with the presence of the two admittedly cute girls. He knew better than to deny her comment though.

After all four were seated it didn't take long for them to be ushered to the throne-room for the briefing. King Etienne told the group about the attacks on an apartment complex as well as WozLabs. Daniel actually knew more about the first one than the second one, given his parents had been planning to move there and while he felt bad for the victims part of him was relieved the attacks happened before his parents were able to find an apartment.

"Any questions?" "Yeah two actually, if you don't mind. Will this be a secret identity thing? I mean on the one hand the recognition would be nice but my parent, being a human and elf, would already be on the Hunter's-list even if I wasn't fighting them. Also I get the whole cooperation between races angle you might be going for but wouldn't a team of full blooded supernatural creatures be stronger than at least one halfblood and a pure human?" He really hoped he didn't offend Joseph by asking that but it was something that had been bothering him for a while.

Soon after he introduces himself, a demon girl with blue-ish skin had appeared. And she happens to be the blue ranger. How coincidental. Joseph found the poses a little strange, but she seems fun. He was caught off-guard by her comment however. Did he really look that nervous? Not to discredit the girls here, who do look cute indeed but there are so many other factors that could help in making someone look nervous. Like the prospect of suddenly being a YuushaRanger and then meeting a real-life king soon, or someone could just be a very anxious and shy person in general or maybe they're reluctant- is he overthinking this? He's overthinking this.

Not long since the blue ranger arrived, they were moved to the throne-room to meet the demon king. The briefing had started short after their last member had appeared. Joseph quietly stood and listened. He had definitely heard of the attacks on the apartment and the labs at some point, mainly about the apartments however as he does live in one by himself. These Neo-Hunters are terrible in every sense of the word. With how much they're against the humans and monsters being together, he would not be surprised if one of his family members would be apart of it as well.

It was time for questions after the briefing, and the elven boy- Daniel was his name if he remembered correctly - had good questions. It's similar to the one he was going to ask so it would be fine if he added on, right? Right. "To add to Dan's second question; would it not be better to choose people who were more trained for this kind of thing, like skilled soldiers or that kind of thing? I'm just a guy who works at a coffee shop. I'm not sure how I was worthy of being chosen. Also, isn't it a bit strange to pick from random people going about their daily lives instead of, again, those who have the required training to be a team as important as this?" To pick people who don't have experience in a field like himself is just plain strange and illogical.

Val felt honored to meeting the great demon king who her parents always spoke highly about, even though he seems a lot less impressive in person. The animals that represented their powers seemed like a strange mix to her wolf, cat, spider, shark, and bird. In appears her joke earlier didn't do anything to help the nerves of the boys who still seemed worried about their new responsibilities, but Val doesn't feel worried about it since she feels that she can handle it. "I only have one question, how much dose this job pay? We aren't going to go out risking our lives for your organization without payment in return".

KING ETIENNE OROR ADVANTAGE

Etienne first decided to answer Daniel's question, as it was the first asked. "Yes I had anticipated that the prospect of secret identities would come up. Another reason a team like this was put together is so we can have a group not even the Hunters know about. This team will operate without their civilian lives being exposed to the public. If need be, the helmets can be modified with voice modulators. As for WHY you were chosen, the Mecha are fickle creatures and chose individuals based on their inner qualities rather than professional training. Certainly a group of trained operatives could have been put together. However I highly doubt such a group would have been as innovative and unpredictable as you all can be. The people NEED heroes they can trust, heroes who are just like any one of them. In this age where man and monster live together, Kamen Riders like me who fight alone just aren't sending the right message. What IS needed are the Yuusharanger.... a team embodying the very principles our society is slowly coming to embrace" said Etienne as he pulled out his CHANGE card to reinforce his statement about individual heroes not being needed right now. Then he answered Val's question next, it was simple enough to answer. "You get paid a salary of 100,000Y a week with a chance for higher pay based on performance and difficulty of jobs... though I do hope the money isn't ALL you think about" replied Etienne with a stern tone of voice. He did hope to convince them to join, but he couldn't FORCE them. It was completely on them on whether they joined.

THEO

Theo held out his gunlike transformation device and aimed it at the window behind his father. "If they don't want to join, its their choice. They never asked for this and neither did I. It was purely by the wish of some meathead robots that we're even here in the first place. US, a group of strangers with not a thing in common and nary a warrior in sight. We're being asked to fight cyber-terrorists, TERRORISTS of all people. These guys can make androids that can tear cars apart and shatter concrete pillars, not many can fight something so unhinged" said Theo as he stared at the hammer of his weapon. Twirling it three times, he holstered it before turning to the others. "I say all these things.... yet I'm still joining. This power is real, strong enough to fight these things. I know, because I was using it just before I came here" continued Theo as he had his battle projected in front of them. "Yeah, I stumbled in a few places. Hell, I could have died for all I know.... but I still tried. From here on out, I'm gonna KEEP trying" said Theo as he turned away from the projected video. He didn't know how to word it properly, but it felt right. The rush of power, the feeling of fighting and even the light of that red moon all felt natural to him. Theo was never interested in being a soldier, a fighter or even a hero. Its just the feeling of being Yuusha Red, underneath the scarlet moonlight has been the most comfortable he's ever been in his entire life. "You're free to go and live your lives as you see fit. Just know that there may not be anyone who can take your place. There may be some of you who won't WANT there to be someone to take your place. Whatever you decide to do... its your call.... but I'm staying" said Theo with a swell of confidence as he raised his Yuusha Soul, the item he used to transform.

Daniel wasn't as enthusiastic as Theo was but he did know his own reasons to join. "Those Hunters go against everything I was raised to believe in plus as I already said my family would likely be targeted anyway. The money is a nice bonus though." He made sure that last part didn't sound too serious, even if it did genuinely help as Val did have a point about wanting to paid for them risking their lives.

Was it truly worth it to sacrifice his quiet life for this? He could just leave and not have to think about this again. They probably wouldn't target him as he's human. To do that however... would not sit well with him at all. He wouldn't be in danger but the people that he does care about would. Like friends he's known for years and his boss. And he'd be willing to do anything for them. Their leader made good points, even if they were reckless. To die before the team was even fully formed is nothing short of reckless. But Joseph sees good intention and that is enough. There's also the big sum of money and he definitely wants that. "...I guess I'm in. It'd make me feel guilty if I just let those filthy terrorists run lose when I can do something about it," he said, crossing his arms.

"Hmmm... if that's the case then..."

Lilica counted on her fingers.

CHA-CHING

"FIVE MILLION A YEAR? As a default? For a student? I'm sold!"

She then looks at Etielle again.

"I mean... uh... yes. I will save the world in the name of justice. And friendship. And the justice of friendship...

... I'm not in an urgent need for money, it's just that it could be useful in the long-run...

... and obviously I won't abuse my power. I'm just a good girl who likes sharks and is a shark. Under the circumstances that I do, my fellow shark Jormungandr will snap me back. Yes, yes."
