Artemis' outward appearance gives off a cold, unfriendly feeling. With sharp facial features, long lashes, full lips which are normally curled into a scowl. Artemis is the definition of the cold bitch. She is insensitive, vengeful, and very aggressive. Though it is balanced out by her high confidence, thick skin, and an undyingly loyal attitude.

While she is rather hostile, it comes at her own downfall. It may hurt other people but it hurts her as well. She sets up a hostile exterior so people wont get close to her, as she is afraid of someone leaving her again. She is awful at projecting feelings so she copes by bottling it up and then taking it out on others. This also comes with snide remarks and insults.

With Artemis’ undying loyalty, once you have won it over it doesnt sway. She will stick with you thick and thin and this leads to her going out of her way to protect these people. The more she finds herself picking up strays the more she finds her cold exterior breaking away, letting her guard down with a selected few.

Artemis acts fully confident in what she does, paired with a thick skin she was built to be apart of the higher class. She is physcially fit and can fight, mentally and physically. She is skilled with a bow and is know for being a skilled hunter in the Netherlands. Adapting isnt hard physically but it is mentally, asking what she is ready to give up versus what she has to give up.

While the de Vos family comes from a high class family with a surplus of money it is a cold and distant household, with a very hands off love. Mainly taken care of by servants and nannies. Her mother and father constantly break out in fights and their household hanging on thin wires. It is no surprise Artemis picked up these behaviors becoming cold, distant, and a down right bitch. If she could remove herself from the problem and not care, or seek comfort from her brother, it would be ok.

This was until her father left and her parents got a divorce, her mother winning custody and her father disappearing from their lives. She still remands the Grand Duchess while her father lost his title. To keep a normal aspect in their lives their mother tried dating and bringing guys home to fill the empty father role but after time Artemis destroyed all hope she had for these guys to fill the void and grew insensitive to the idea.

Then a year later they got the call that destroyed the de Vos’. Her father had been found hung from the ceiling fan. The energy in the house after that was different, it was very stiff and filled with tension. She does her best to avoid her mother in the house and stick to her room or outside.

Growing up with this upbringing Artemis doesnt plan on people staying in her life for long so she saves herself the pain and makes sure they dont become close because if they dont become close then she cant get hurt. She also vowed she would be there for her brother and he would always come first and to do this she had to put her needs and feelings aside. Overtime she built her confidence high as if she projected the thought that nothing was wrong, nothing was truly wrong. She would be the perfect daughter if needed.

Present

Artemis isnt popular but she isnt unknown either. She is quite feared (or disliked) in the school because she is known for beating the shit out of kids or causing them to go cry. Due to a hostile exterior she attracts the more violent beings, sometimes rolling with the wrong crowd and breaking the law. After her fathers death most of her grades started declining and have stayed like this for the majority of the time though she is trying to get them back up.

Outside of school she took up a fascination of learning about melee weapons or anything that wasnt considered a firearm. Her skills also lie with a bow, she has a great shot and doesnt hesitate. She tries her best to fit the standards that are being placed on her but since arriving at Hillerska she has gotten in multiple fights for these reasons, because she is not what people thought she was or should be. Yes she is probably good friends with the principle by now.

Haru is an only child, born to Ichika, a Japanese socialite married to an older businessman. She had money from the very start, wearing the most lavish of dresses and attending the biggest of parties. He was spoiled as a child, with the pick of whatever hobbies he wanted, no matter the cost. He took this to the extremes, picking up horse riding at an early age. He had his own pony only weeks into taking up the sport and went through many horses as he aged and grew. He was skilled, eventing from a young age, and by 13, he was competing for cash prizes. He had an elite horse, trained by the best, and his love of thoroughbreds and warmbloods began. He refused to ride anything that didn't have long legs and jump high. He thought cob horses were for children or bad riders.

He got into a lot of fights as a kid. There was a preconception that men weren't riders, that riding was an easy sport, or that he should be doing something more 'manly.' He always took this opportunity to show them how manly he was... by kicking their ass. He hopped from school to school, including those specifically built to deal with troublesome children, until he was old enough to go to Hillerska Boarding School. He seemed to get on better there, though certainly didn't enjoy getting hazed on his first day. There were bugs. So. Many. Bugs. He had a black eye for weeks after that.

He was sixteen when Miyu came into his life. She was his little cousin he'd never met who had had a much different childhood to her. He hated having her around. He was used to being an only child, now this little kid was riding crappy cob ponies in his training arena while he was trying to exercise his thoroughbreds. His mother forced him to go hacking with her, teach her how to ride properly as well as other general horsey things. Why was it his job to teach her? He didn't even know he had a cousin until that year. Once summer ended, his cousin was sent to boarding school with him, and he was given the task of making sure she settled in okay.

The pretty girl, the one who gets everything. Mackenzie is used to being envied and wanted. It's hard work getting everything you want, but someone has to bare the burden.

Mack likes to play the roll of America's sweetheart. She'll smile and wave to the press, and post innocent selfies on instagram. Overall, she plays nice in public, but that’s all it is. It's part of her game.

Mack spends most of her time calculating ways to get what she wants. There are no means too extreme. If something seems impossible to obtain, she’s likely the best shot at getting close to it. She'll develop a plan and rewrite it 1000 times if she has to in order to succeed. She'll insist she's not so mean, but it's hard to believe when her knife is always placed against your back. Connections are simply a strategy to get what she wants. She'll act open, even vulnerable, in order to lure people into her grasp. All resources are used to her advantage.

In reality, she buries her feelings. Anything real is immediately locked away in a safe and that safe is locked in a vault in the highest security facility in her mind. They have no place in politics. Places like Hillskera are not safe for vulnerability. There are too many opportunities to ruin a countries reputation, and many more to gain political alliance. Everything is a chance to make or destroy yourself or others.

Outside of her complex strategies, Mack has boundless confidence. She's not the type to cry after being insulted once or twice. She is, however, insanely susceptible to jealousy, and if pushed past it, revenge. Justice will be sought, vigilante style. Someone passes her in grades or starts seeing a boy she needed for a plan, she WILL ruin their life. Her ambition has its faults, but she would never admit that.

For months, if Mackenzie posted on her semi popular instagram account about anything other than the election, she’d get a lecture about not taking it seriously enough. Hard work paid off though, and in January 2021, they moved into the whitehouse.

There are two categories of people in Rikki's eyes. Those he hates, and those he tolerates. The majority of people fall into the former, where a couple of useful faces may take refuge in being tolerated. At least, that's how he likes to see it. Rare, but still possible, some people may slip through the cracks and find their way into his life, much to his displeasure.
Though getting to that point is more arduous than one might anticipate. Just as he has two categories for people, he has two categories for himself. Insincerely: He may choose to behave around people, playing charming to get what he wants. Rikki knows how to talk in circles, lead off the trail. It became a helpful skill in painting him the good guy when scandals would bubble into the light. He will observe and shift into the ideal person to smooth things over.
Why that is such a necessary talent relies on his actual self. Something buried deep for formal settings but prowls the night in dingy nightclubs, face obscured under colorful flashing lights. He's the one responsible for throwing the chair that started a fight, the one responsible for the odd noises coming from the alleyway. Rikki relies on the rush of adrenaline for feeling. Perhaps that's why he puts himself in that grand lie to the public, the risk of getting caught brings that sense of danger he needs.
The risk will keep adding up, digging a hole deeper and deeper for himself. The walls are already beginning to crumble down, he feels the weight of his actions. How long can this game truly keep going?

You'd think that would make their special family more accepting, but they didn't quite know what genderfluid was. So, when they came out it was a bit of struggle. However, they were able to explain the entire deal by middle school. So they were genderfluid and dedicated to filming little artsy videos in their free time.

Scarred and muscular, Auguste is an absolute behemoth - appearing to be part giant. Auguste is scary to meet at first. A man of few words and a seemingly permanent glare, his massive stature makes him stick out quite a bit from a crowd. Cold and callous, he doesn't have much to say, and usually he has some pretty biting remarks, especially when you first meet him.

This is backed by allegations of his terrible temper and rumors of him beating anyone that looked at him wrong. Which, by the way, are 100% true. But he's built himself to be better over the years. However, due to his past he's developed deep anxieties about people. He thinks in reverse: the people that are really nice are the ones that he thinks are going to backstab him and hurt him. And the more delicate a person looks, the more he worries that he might hurt them. He's developed an extremely cynical view upon himself, and a general wariness to all efforts to pry into his psyche. He takes his vow of pacifism extremely seriously and will rollover and take whatever punishment is dealt to him stoically.

Slightly sarcastic and still on the quieter side, Auguste stripped down is a passionate artist and a surprisingly chaotic side.

Auguste was born the crown prince of Spain to a French aristocrat and the Spanish king. He was born an absolute genius in music and dance, and if he wasn't the crown prince then it was very likely he had a prosperous future ahead of him

Even as a prince he had a bright future ahead of him, though he wasn't really the type for politics and drama. He really just liked singing and dancing more than he liked big court rooms and judgmenets and politicking the future of a country. His parents planned to have another baby, and Auguste was going to abdicate the throne to them. And that was all well and good until his father suddenly died and the family was sent in exile.

Auguste's mother did not take this very well now that they were cast out of high society and shamed. She took them back to France and then... well. The media loses track of Auguste and his mother.

They showed up again years later, Auguste had new scars and with his mother nowhere to be found. He joined the school with top grades and has since continued to thrive - while also keeping a careful eye on the people that took his crown.
