We may have finally arrived at the coveted 'Golden Age' of our species, however the cost of this achievement has become a global taboo.
At present, much of the world is inhabitable. Lakes have dried up, lush prairies are now deserts, great cities, and countries even, have become noxious wastelands from excessive pollution. Such environments are unsuitable for human to live in, let alone pokemon. Somehow, now, while the latent genius and luxuries of humanity come to fruition, the creatures that were once beloved companions, marvels of our age, are left to their own devices, in these ravaged lands.
Even if pokemon are the first to go, lost to our inaction, it is only a matter of time before all of humanity dies off from the same slow death.

If this is indeed our 'Golden Age' then there should be a surplus of resources at our disposal to solve this disaster we've allowed to spiral..
In a total of 15 years, the brightest minds came together, and put their focus into building a super telescope. This allowed humanity to glimpse at the great beyond. There was just enough desperation, and theory, to warrant a search, an exploration, and perhaps even a colonization effort ... on this new planet discovered, which had just enough proof that it held the secrets of the origin of pokemon.
This was the second chance that many had prayed for, it will be seized by all means at hand.

If you are reading this, then you should know that you have been chosen to be part of the group that will bring humanity another step forward in our long history. Much of our recent achievements have come with a steep price, one that none of us here will readily admit - and so consider this your - our - attempt to clean the the record we so readily soaked in greed.
For every body we lost, every pokemon that found their resting grounds in our fucking garbage, we will forge on ahead and try again, to preserve memory and what was the ideal decades ago, millions of light years away. We have no idea of what may be waiting for us, but even if it hurts, maims, or tears you apart - we will not accept any quitters until every last soldier out there is six feet under.
We know the advertisements made this seem like an adventure of a lifetime, discovering utopia even, but make no mistake - you are here to repent, to atone. You will freeze, burn, cry, and drown - you are chosen to carry the sins of humanity forward, even as a new reality shapes around you, shaped by your own hands.
