Personality: The tragedies of Yang's life have shaped him into who he is. When he lost his mother he found himself alone, as his father buried his grief in his work, leaving Yang to sort through his emotions for himself. His only solace was in the imaginary friend he created for himself, whom he pretended to be the little brother he lost. His father quickly shut that down, telling him he was never to play that game again; but he never did forget his invisible brother, who was always beside him through his toughest times. This presence helped to shape him into the warrior, commander and man today. He feels self assured at all times, feeling like there is someone next to him, helping to guide him and protect him. He never doubts his decisions, operating under complete certainty under any circumstance.

He is calm and collected, with a warm disposition that makes men assigned to him trust him, despite his youth. He feels a connection with his Country and the position he holds within it, a deep sense of pride that makes him willing and ready to fight to the death to defend Oxion. He is the sword of Oxion, to be wielded as his emperor sees fit. His youth, fair features and reputation make him sought after by fathers and daughters alike, all requesting for him to marry into their family, but he has yet to find a suitable match for himself, a romantic who wants love and connection, not a political marriage.

His best qualities aside, he has a blood lust that scares even the men under his command. When his sword is drawn, no man stands before him and lives. His magic and skill ensure that any defense that is mounted against him is blasted away or shorn in two. He loses himself, and sees only a blood red world of monsters and death. He is alone in this state, except his "brother's" whispering voice, telling him to keep killing until there is no one else in his path.

Where are they from: Oxion

History: Born to a high standing member of Emperor Masa’s court, Yang was born in the lap of luxury, all of his needs taken care of until he was taken at the age of 13. When he was 5 his mother died in childbirth trying to bring another son into the world, the pregnancy and labor was so difficult both mother and son died, leaving Yang Lu with only his father, who threw himself into his work to hide the grief of his wife’s passing, leaving only Yang to deal with his emotions alone.

Until his father hired him a tutor, who began to teach Yang the lessons he needed to learn to one day take his father’s place. It wasn’t enough for the young Yang who felt lost, alone and angry, so the older man began to teach him how to deal with those emotions, through his family’s tradition of Martial Arts, using focus and exercise to help him feel calm and normal. It was very effective and soon Yang was practicing day and night, trying to work through his feelings.

It also led him to believe that since he was so good at it he should join the army, and for the next 8 years that was his goal. During this time his father hired him several different tutors, to teach him more and more for his upcoming roles, including someone to teach him magic, since their position allowed for such training. If his son wanted to fight for the Emperor, he would make sure to present the Emperor with the best possible soldier he could.

In everything he did he excelled, while hiding a secret within himself. His grief and loneliness caused there to be a rift in his psyche, and he could feel this cesspit of negative emotions boiling below his consciences, needing a release.

That came the first time he hit someone when taken at the age of 13 for training. He was practice sparing with another one of the recruits and when his fist connected he knew that was what he wanted to do, fight to the death. He became consumed by it, eventually graduating at 18 first of his class. His father purchased him an Officer’s rank in the army and he has been serving for the past 2 years to prove himself to the army.

Magic: Using his red magic with his martial arts prowess he is known to summon flames and bursts of force to knocking around and burn his opponent, using the magic to augment his own abilities, allowing him to jump higher, run faster and generally cause as much mayhem as possible.
