How far had they come? As a people? As mutants? The thought honestly haunted him sometimes.

While some would argue that such a question was meaningless drivel. Imposed upon him by a mind ever seeking answers regardless of the consequences. Questions begat answers, after all- there was no question that could not claim one. But that did not mean it would grace him with wisdom and light, guiding him onward to what he truly desired. The threat of failure loomed over him like a cloud, like a beast enveloped in shadow, testing him. Charles's heart burned and he could feel how restless his students were becoming how just how frequent the protest against mutants were. How far had he come? It did not matter. He was here and in the end he supposed that was all that really mattered.

Was it worth it? His own existence hinged upon what he was doing here, it was the his god given destiny to help these children because in the end who else would? Humans? No, their cruelty tended to be relentless and with all that had been happening he feared that there was no true safe place for his kind. Not even here...but it was the best shot they had. His eyes slowly opened, his gaze shifting along the front of the institutes lush garden lawn as some of his students wandered along with one another, some openly displaying their gifts in games of catch and other activities.

A hand on his shoulder made the man look up from his wheelchair, his eyes meeting the gaze of a dark skinned woman with snowy white hair as she leaned down and spoke into his ear.

"The new arrivals will be here in a moment Professor, They're at the gate~" She would inform, giving his shoulder a pat before standing her full height beside him. Charles simply chuckled, giving a brief nod of understanding as the tour bus that held all the new students came rolling through the gate and drove towards the front of the school before stopping in front of he and storm. Many of the other students seemed to stop what they were doing just to see the newbies who always caused quite the ruckus in one way or another, new arrivals were always something of a hot topic around here. The doors to the bus squealed open and the driver gave a tip of the hat to Charles who gave him a wave, waiting to see his newest students as they climbed off the bus one by one. Some curious, others afraid and understandably so. When everyone was off the bus and standing on the dirt path in front of the mansion Charles smiled and cleared his throat to draw their attention.

"Hello children~ My name is Professor Charles Xavier, this here is my associate Ororo Munroe, but some of you may know her as Storm from recent news. It is my pleasure to welcome you to my school, a private institution designed to provide for people like you...me...us~ As many of you have recently discovered, you are not like others. You are special...gifted. It is my goal to help you come to understand you newfound abilities; to control them and grow happily away from those who do not understand you until you are ready to brave the world on your own." He explained, gesturing forward with a hand as he tilted his head. "Why don't we begin with introductions? Your names, where you are from? We should get to know one another while we are here. You'll all be seeing a lot of each other during your time here~" He would suggest as he waited for someone to have the bravery to speak up first. Storm rolled her eyes behind him, not understanding why he seemed to insist on making nervous teenagers do show and tell on the front lawn of the school.

"Professor, perhaps we should let them get comfortable and settle in first? They're kids and not only that they are 'mutant' kids. The last thing they want right now is to be put on the spot~" She urged, giving Charles a nudge to the shoulder with her elbow which made him shift his gaze to Storm, then to the students and then back to Storm again.

"Mm, i see. I suppose your right, shall we simply continue with the tour then?" He suggested, disappointment clearly in his voice as he gave Storm a look.

Woman always had to go and ruin his fun.

"Just take a deep breath and focus on holding me steady, I almost have it," Lola said. It was a not an odd sight to see random objects flying around because someone can make things float, but they were normally inanimate. This time, it was Lola Miller, floating about 15 feet off the ground as she went after a stuffed toy for the kid floating her. Artyom, a younger student who had joined last year, and often found himself being teased by his older brother. This time, his older brother had thrown his stuffed animal into a tree, and nobody would go an get it for him. Artyom was seen a little odd, so people tended to treat him a little strangely. He had eventually come to Lola, who had been reading a ghost story, All The Lovey Bad Things by Mary Downing Hahn, and asked for her help. Of course, why would he refuse. There was another boy, Marcus, standing by to catch her because young Artyom couldn't control the descent yet, and Lola didn't feel like breaking anything. "Got it! Okay, let me go." Lola prepared herself for all her weight to come back at once. And when it did, she prepared herself to be caught. Landing in someone's arms isn't as romantic as some movies make it out to be, but thankfully Lola was pretty small.

Once her feet were back on the ground, she fixed her skirt as Artyom was reuinted with his stuffed animal. A rabbit, by the way, a bright yellow one with a blue ribbion. Probably a toy from Easter. "Thank you so much Lola!" She didn't even get to reply before he and Marcus were gone. That was okay though, Lola didn't mind because they were suddenly headed off into the same direction she was headed. Lola always lobed watching the news students show up. They always looked a little awestruck no matter what else they were feeling. She remembered first seeing the Academy. Of course, she was nine and more excited about not having to live with her parents anymore. She had to wonder if any of the new kids would have the same feeling? Anyway, she joined the growing group of students, managing to wiggle her way to the front easily. Being short did have it's advantages. Lola didn't come in onnthe bus, she was a speical case, one of the teacher had been keeping an eye on her and when her home situation had gotten to bad for her to stay, they came and got her before she was technically old enough. Professer Xavier, Storm, and Logan were the three she remebers who had come to collect her, though there might have been someone else she can't remeber.

Lola watched as Professer Xavier and Storm both went and greeted the new arrivals. Lola was looking forward to seeing what these guys got up to, as the newbies always cause trouble someway or another. He gave the same speech, or a very similar one she had heard him hive a few other times when greeting new students. Lola didn't often come and watch actully, she didn't see the point. Though she did enjoy it. Lola was being bumped into by a few others moving closer together to gossip, mostly about what powers they though the newbies had, or if they would be this or that, blah blah blah. Lola just wanted to figure out what sterotype each of them would be. Everyone had one.

New arrivals to the school. Meant that they collected who they can and brought them over to this school. She's seen it enough times to get used to it and for the novelty to wear off. Charlotte could barely remember the time before she was sent to the mansion to learn how to control her powers and to get her education. While she could have certainly been homeschooled or hide her power but due to the destructive nature of it, she had been quickly whisked away. It was far too dangerous to have a kid with electricity going to a normal school. As far as they were concerned, Charlotte was a mutant who needed to be in control of the live wire that was inside her or else there would be consequences for the mutant community. At least her parents were very understanding about it and readily agreed to it.

And so there she was, years poured into her education in the mansion and was playing with the other kids.

One of the kids who had enhanced strength insisted on playing catch. Charlotte was more than happy to play with him. It helped them exercise control over their powers. However, somewhere along the lane of their play, it ended up with him going full force and Charlotte running to catch it. So far, everything was going well and she had finished another lap around the mansion and threw the ball back at him which he caught with relative ease and a light laugh. Sure, knowing how to control your power so it wouldn't be harmful was good and all but using full strength was always fun. When he was about to throw the ball, the bus had pulled up to their driveway. Many of them stopped to look at their new arrivals and Charlotte did too - shoving her hands inside her pockets as she walked forward. Everyone was breaking into whispers, curious as to what they can do and who they were.

Charlotte stopped near the front as she was about to bump into Lola - a long time student like her. Charlotte didn't often see her around whenever there were new arrivals so maybe it just so happened that she was outside when the buss rolled up. "Hey Lola." She greeted with a smile as she gave her a nod before turning back to the new arrivals. They got off the bus one by one. Professor Xavier and Storm were there to greet the students and to introduce themselves and the school. Her eyes lingered on Professor Xavier for a moment. She held the man in high regards but ever since the incident, Charlotte rarely wanted to be in the same space with him for an elongated period of time - especially when alone. She willed her attention to go back to the new students and began to wonder what kind of people they were. It helped to know how they react to certain things so she would know how to help. "Do you think anyone would be up to some mischief in that group?" She asked the smaller mutant, a smirk playing on her lips.

Morrigan took a few deep breaths as she walked with along with the group of new arrivals. It had been two months since her father's death and he had told her about this school. He had met Xavier when he was younger and they had remained in touch. Why are we even here? Morrigan shook her head as Frost spoke up. Because you cause chaos. I'd like to be able to use our powers without you taking over and almost kill people. Morrigan responds quickly. There was chatting among the student as a man in a wheelchair followed by a white-haired woman. They approached the group and introduced themselves. So this is the professor? Nice chair. Frost said sarcastically. Hush She said trying to focus on what the professor was saying. They moved forward into the house to continue the tour. I'm bored. Let's and go on our own tour. Morrigan ignored her and listened to the professor. She leaned against the wall tiredly. Her flight from Dublin had gotten in late last night and she hadn't been able to sleep.

Kypher Hawthorne carelessly stepped out of the tour bus with a slightly amused smirk on his face. This was the famed 'private institution' designed for young mutants to grow up and learn peacefully, headed by one Professor Charles Xavier himself. While the mansion appeared like the architect had definitely been compensating for something, it seemed decent enough as far as living standards went. And Kypher new just how bad living standards went; his weren't particularly personally. Taking a breath of fresh air after the stuffy time spent on that loud student-crammed bus, Kypher nonchalantly made his way to the front of the crowd and procured a factory-made cigarette from his outer breast pocket. Holding one end between his lips, the sort-of eighteen year old fished out a metal flick lighter from a side pocket on his jacket and sparked his cigarette in front of the Professor and apparently the 'Storm'.

"So you're Xavier, huh? I guess I was expecting someone mightier and with a bit more hair..."

He shrugged a took a pull from the pre-rolled tobacco in his mouth, not really savouring it and blowing the smoke out after a of couple seconds as natural as you'd like. The young man was clearly no stranger to a blem. Grinning all the same under his dark aviators, Kypher glanced about at the students behind him and quickly sized up who was likely to be of interesting company during his stay at this freakshow of an institute. Most of them looked like normal kids of varying ages, boring and wonderstruck in the same breath. Kypher's grin died slightly and he turned back to the professor backdropped against the large mansion. A tour could be fun, but he'd enjoy more without the chaperones. Giving the two adults a pseudo-innocent smile, he strolled past them and began to make his way towards the building.

Lola glanced up to get a look at the person who greeted her, so see one of the other long term students Charlotte. They weren't really friends, maybe just friendly. It was easier to be nicer to the other long term students who were a little more use to her than the new kids. Espeically one like Charlotte, who had a really cool but sometimes destructive power. "Hi Charlotte," Lola replied, her eyes wandering back to the new kids. Her eyes landed on a brunette, she looked confused, but like she was having an internal conflict at the same time. The next new kid that caught her attention was a boy, who was defeintly trying to fit into some type of role nobody else cared about by smoking that cigarette, and then he just started strolling right the professer and Storm which was not a good idea. First impressions did matter though. "Him. The one who's smoking a cigarette. He looks like he's at least 55 percent scoundrel." More than half on her scoundrel scale was a big start for someone she hadn't even met yet. Most kids didn't rank above 10 percent. Lola then got an idea, and turned to look up at Charlotte again, "Should we get a little closer?"

Chaos theory said things fall apart, chaos theory said everything is random, everything is atrophy and unknown and there is no way you will ever control it or understand it. That it's all just guessing, you can't even count the possibilities you can never know, you can never prepare, you can never do anything about it. crap just happened. It happened ferociously and unstoppably, all physics and beyond the physics, rapidly changing numbers and beyond the numbers...who knows.

Chaos theory would be pondered for thousands of years.

Can you tell a smile from a veil? They were indistinguishable here, they were a permanent fixture of this Utopian city. As much a fixture as the invisible walls, or beckoning, threatening virus, a bell from a tower, the summons. Year after year, these would remain until they crumbled, and me veil would remain as well. Only time could erode it.

Bright eyes moistened in a young mans sockets as he stared at outward at the school from within the comfort of his vehicle...the mysterious man seemed to of arrived later than he intended and thus found himself parked behind a bus containing god knows who as a bunch of children began to crowd the lawn of the fine institution. He sat patiently as if waiting for something to be drawn to him, by fate, by chance, by aggression or any other motive. Hell maybe he did understand chaos theory. Maybe deep inside he knew how things tended to unravel.

Yes, yes he did understand. Silently the man counted down the time to himself...the sound of laughter and hushed mutters filling the air as Xavier played his little game and welcomed the new miscreants to his home which only served to make the man in the hat impatient. Lifting his arm and pulling up his sleeve he checked his watch and shook his head.

"Time...running out of time~" He growled, closing his eyes and inhaling deeply through his nostrils. His driver adjusted the rear view mirror and focused its lens on the nameless figure in the backseat.

"He needs to know Sir, before things get out of hand." The Driver mused, making the gray skinned man nod his head.

"Keep the car runnin~" He commanded, adjusting his hat and popping the door of the Cadillac open. A single boot greeting the dirt as the man pushed himself out the car and twisted his neck, audibly cracking the bones as the man adjusted his tie and fixed his suit. Stepping around the side of the bus as the light hit his face, revealing severe burns and scarred tissue along the surface of his dead, gray skin. His eyes cold and his lips stripped away into a grisly display of disfigurement from the Glasgow smile that was carved into his face.

His dead eyes would wander over the many students gathered in front of the bus as the taller man strolled by them. The shadow he cast over them dancing as a wicked grin spread across his lips. Many of the students when meeting his gaze recoiled as their skin began to crawl with the mere sight of him, distancing themselves from the monstrosity that made his way to the front. Storm herself grimaced at the sight of the man, Charles himself immediately shifting his gaze and completely forgetting what he was even going to say to the aviator wearing boy who quipped at him moments before.

"Kingsley? Is that you?" Charles asked, his voice heavy with worry as the man in black reached up to pull off his hat, bringing it down to his chest as he looked Charles over. Immediately he shook his head and gave him a good look over. "You look-"

"Not a day over twenty? Charles please, your gonna make me blush~" Kingsley teased, giving a low chuckle as he brushed past the man smoking the cigarette as he just wandered towards the mansion. Charles scoffed a laugh at the man, looking towards some of the horrified students as they stared at the freak of nature before them.

"You know its always good to see you old friend but you could have called first, i'm in the middle of-"

"Oh i'm afraid i'm here because of an urgent matter. We need to talk Charles and i fear it can't wait, so your little babysitting gig is gonna have to hold for now. If you'd be so kind as to dismiss the Brat Pack so we could talk privately i'd be mighty grateful." Kingsley cut in, narrowing his eyes tightly and giving Charles a look that told him that this could not wait. The Headmaster gave a brief nod of understanding before gesturing to the students.

"That concludes the pleasantries i'm afraid, everyone feel free to explore the Mansion. Storm, make sure they don't burn the place down while Kingsley and i chat~" Charles demanded, wheeling his chair off to the side and reaching out towards Kingsley to escort him off to the side a bit and away from the others. "What is this all about Kingsley? You vanish for a decade then pop back up out of the blue like this? What's going on?" He asked in a hushed tone as the disfigured man shifted his gaze back to the students who all walked towards the mansion while giving the two side glances out the corner of their eye.

"You've seen the news?" He began before reverting his eyes back on Charles. "Children all over the world are going missing, infants from their cribs, little ones from the playgrounds, and in some rarer cases teenagers."

"Yes, i know. We've been trying to figure out why but so far our investigation has come up empty. Only thing we know for sure is that all the missing victims are human." Charles replied, running a hand along his chin as Kingsley began to chuckle darkly.

"Well let me put your mind at ease...i know why and i also know whose behind it. Tell me, do you remember the Weapon X program?" Kingsley asked, making Charles squint suspiciously.

"How could i forget? What are you saying? The ones behind Weapon X are also behind the disappearances?" He asked, forcing a low sigh out of the man in black.

"Weapon X was more of a beta test Charles, whats happening now is far more advanced and sophisticated than anything the Weapon X Program could muster. However, their work is what inspired their spiritual successors, a clandestine organization known only as 'Providence'. Completely off the books and unsanctioned by any government. Providence has found a way to extract the X-Gene out of those who have yet to awaken them. The victims you believe to be human are indeed Mutants Charles, but without awakening their X-Gene you would have never known. Very few mutants actually go long without awakening it but for those who do they are taken. But that ain't the kicker Charlie boy. They've found a way to take dormant X-Genes and awaken them without a host by taking mutants who have awakened their gene and taking the unique mutation they possess and programming the dormant gene with code. Put simply, its a build-a-bear worship for mutants. By taking the inactive X-gene they can then take the DNA of say that mutt Wolverine and the DNA of Storm. They can program the dormant X-Gene with both mutagen strands and create a custom made mutant in which they can then infuse with a human host. Weapon X was childs play Charles, whats happening in the dark is far, far worse...and we need to stop it before things get out of control." Kingsley explained, the urgency in his voice growing as the disfigured man laid it all out for Charles.

Charles stared for a long moment, clearly thinking this through as he took in all the information he was given. Processing all this took him a moment as he leaned back and folded his fingers together.

"...How exactly did 'you' get all this information Kingsley? If memory serves me correctly your organization does not serve human or mutant agendas. Which begs the question, why are you bringing this to me and how did you figure this all out?" Charles questioned suspiciously as he looked up at Kingsley.

"Oh don't be like that Charlie. We go back to far for you to be suspecting me of foul play, the Helsing Organization pokes its thumbs into many pies and it just so happens the pie of genetics is reasonably profitable. Besides, whats happening with mutants involves everyone Charles, i am bringing this to you in good faith that you will act on it logically. Reach out to your sources, shake a few trees and rattle some bones. Everything i told you is everything i know and unfortunately there is nothing more i can give you. Providence is extremely secretive, it's like trying to catch smoke. But luckily for you i have a lead." Kingsley mused, weighing his head to the side as Charles glared at him.

"A lead? And what might that be?" He asked with a quirked brow.

"A Helsing Operative has been sniffing out little birds who love to sing. But she's been AWOL for a couple years after going into deep cover. You two are already acquainted i believe~" He pulled a red folder from his jacket, an initial written upon its surface.

V.V

He handed the folder to Charles who took a single glance at the initials and furrowed his brow, popping the folder open to be met with a thick stack of papers with an image clipped to the front. A fully detailed dossier containing documents on a girl he used to know. Charles had only met her once, many years ago when she was a mess after awakening her X-Gene.

Vanessa Valentine

Charles felt his heart ache at the thought of the poor girl as he examined some of the details on the front. "Little Vivi? Little young to be a Helsing Operative eh Kingsley?" Charles stated bitterly as he flipped through a couple of the pages. "How old is she now? Sixteen?"

"Eighteen Charles...She goes by 'Huntress' now...the pup is all grown up, you were wise to lend her to my care. She was always a wild child Charles raising her here would have simply endangered everyone in the facility. Mutants would be raised among mutants...monsters should be raised among other monsters. And you know how she was back then. Once that pup caught a scent there was little you could do to stop her from following it and i'm afraid that's what happened here. She's in to deep and when i tried to extract her from the assignment she went dark. No one has been in contact with her for over three years. We've been tracking her but every time we get close she just slips away. Recently she's been leaving behind a body count rivaling your Wolverine so that tells me only one thing-"

"She's getting closer and thus the more resistance~" Charles finished, closing her Dossier for the time being, deciding to go through it later. "So if you don't know where she is then how exactly is she a lead?" Charles asked as he set the folder beside his leg.

"Vanessa is a brilliant strategist and clever pup. She lives for the thrill of the hunt and based on what i've been hearing she's been rattling a lot of cages these past few years and some of the latest victims of her hunt are suspected members or associates of Providence. If there is anyone who has intelligence on the Providence, my money would be on her. My people tracked her back to America months ago and based on what a little bird told me, she is here, in New York. You will have one shot at finding her Charles...one...chance. If you miss your window and she gets even the sneaking suspicion that you are onto her, she's gone. Like a puff of smoke she will vanish and neither you or i will see her again for however long she decides to disappear. And god forbid you interfere with her hunt, she takes the game very seriously Charles and she will not share her prey willingly, so be careful." He explained, lifting a hand and gesturing to his disfigured face. "She did this the first time i tried to get between her and her prey. I'd suggest giving your people the Dossier and briefing them on the situation before sending them after her." He suggested, taking his hat and placing it back onto his head and turning his back on Charles, walking away and heading back towards the car.

"Find the Huntress Charles. Find her, and she'll lead you to Providence~" He called out one last time before disappearing back into the car and driving off the school grounds.

Charles sat in stunned silence as his gaze shifted back down to the red folder tucked beside his leg. Closing his eyes and pushing his voice outward to Logan, Storm, and Scott.

"Everyone meet me at Cerebro, we have a situation."

Riley was more than ready to get into whatever introductions needed to be made but it seemed like that wouldn't be the case.
Seems the professor needed to attend to something important. Ah well.
She decided to try to interact with some of the others.
"So. Smoking huh? I don't judge."She said blowing a bubble with her gum before it popped.
"Let me guess. Some edgy power to do with darkness."
Riley was being cheeky. It served to be annoying to some people sometimes but she didn't care.
She had to find her own enjoyment somewhere in life.
"My power is pretty cool too. I'm like a living battery in a way."
"What say we get up to some mischief, steal something, break something. Maybe hide something. And try to get away with it."

Wether or not Charolette wanted to get closer ot not, Lola's train of thought had moved on as a skeletal like man came into veiw. She had never seen him before, but Professor Xavier seemed to know him. Many of the students looked terrified, Lola didn't see why, many people had mutations that altered their appearance. This man maybe had one of them, or maybe he was just the victim of unfortunate circumstances. Reguardless, he had something important to talk to the Professor about, from the quote "urgent matter". Lola wondered what it could be about, and trying to figure out what type of students the newbies would be drifted from her mind. There wpuld be other opportunities of course. Watchibg as Xavier and Kingsley left, she stepped around Charolette, giving the other girl a goobye pat on the arm as she went in the direction of the mysterious conversation. Really, these two should find somewhere a lot more private, like the secert areas under the mansion that the students all knew about, they just couldn't get into. Just put in the open where Lola could easily use being five feet tall to slip through the students to hide out of sight behind a large stone railing, but close enough to the two adults in order to hear what they were talking about. Sure, normally she didn't do this, but something about this seemed more important than Logan tryong to regain his memories, or Scott trying hopelessly to get laid.

They were speaking quietly, which meant Lola would have to focus on not making to much noise with her breath, but she was able to hear the conversation. First off the missing kids she had heard about on the news. Most of the students didn't pay attention, but she did. Sort of, she hadn't heard any of the recent updates, mostly because Storm would come and change the channel right before they reported any, probably trying not to worry anyone, but that was window long ago closed. Kingsley seemed to know a lot, as he started talking about the wepon X program. Lola knew a little, but not much, but she knew that if those guys were invovled it was bad. And she didn't have to wait long for her very obvious conclusion to be confirmed. A beta test? I mean, aside from breaking free from the mind control and you know kinda being taken out, or at least a small part of it being taken out, the weapon X program seemed to work. Logan was living proof of that. They were planning on more experiments? Well no, the way Kingsley phrased it they were already working on them, they probably already had sucesses. But, forcably creating mutants...that was defeintly bad. Like really bad, what happens whne one of them messes up? What kind of monsters could people make? Or was it just another way to demonize mutants? Lola managed to keep herself from going overboard thought wise, because she didn't want Xavier to know she was there. He probably wouldn't be too mad, she was just concerned. And let's face it, the students would invovled one way or another.

Then he mentioned a name that sounded a little familair, though Lola didn't know who it was. Maybe the name was mentioned in passing, and by the Xavier responded, this Vanessa was maybe an old student? Kingsley had a few interesting things to say about this girl. With a codename like Huntress, she must have been pretty impressive, even though the girl was apparently just a year older than Lola herself. This Huntress was in New York, and apparently by the sound of it, possibly in trouble. Or soon going to be. Kingsley sure had a lot of leads, he was an agent for something, though she couldn't hear what agency when he mentioned it. She figured it wasn't FBI, or CIA. Anyway, back to the important part, mutants were about to be in a whole lot of trouble again, but this time normal people were in danger more than they normally were when someone was trying to destroy New York. Wonderful. The conversation ended after talking about this Vanessa woman, with Kingsley talling Xavier to find the Huntress. Lola decided now was a good time to peak over, and since Xavier's eyes were shut, now was a good time to sneak back. Lola defeintly had a lot to think about now, but the question now, could she talk to anyone about it? Once she was a safe distance away from Xavier, Lola let out a sigh, and ran a hand through her hair. Things were about to get a lot more interesting.

Morrigan watched a strange looking man approached the group. The professor greeted him and the man asked him to dismiss the students which he did. Morrigan turned to leave but a little voice in her head told her to follow them. Don't you dare walk away, I wanna hear what Scarface and Baldy are talking about. Frost piped up. Morrigan was a little curious herself so as a few other students went to explore on their own she followed the professor just close enough to hear. she overheard them talk about something called the Weapon X. Both Frost and Morrigan were confused but they kept listening. As they talked Morrigan felt Frost become more agitated. She didn't like hearing about a new treat. We should leave. This guys obviously only going to put us in danger. Frost said. This might be the only place we're safe. Mutants are getting taken from the real world Frost. The Professor will keep us safe now hush. Morrigan said trying to listen to what the professor was saying now. He was talking about some girl named Vanessa. Apparently, she was some sort of Huntress. Morrigan felt Frost trying to take control. Oi chill out. I don't like the sound of this Van chick. If she tries anything- I know, I know you'll kill her blah blah blah. You do you always have to be so violent? It's us or them girly. Morrigan turned around when she felt someone's hand on her shoulder.

Charlotte had planned on responding to Lola - to agree that they should go closer so that they can see better. However, she quickly forgot about that when someone stepped out of a car that was behind the bus. Whoa. He looked pretty cool but she hasn't seen him ever before. She should know - he would be very memorable with his presence and appearance. Maybe he was a contact of Professor Xavier from outside? He had a lot of those and maybe this was simply the first time he would ever step on the grounds. He called it an urgent matter before the two departed. Her eyes narrowed at the two - could there be something wrong? Of course there would be, something like this would be important surely. She was debating in her mind whether or not to follow and eavesdrop when she felt a tap to her shoulder and she looked to see that Lola was already heading over to the two. "Lola, wait." She called out before smirking. "Tell me what it's about later~" With that, Charlotte turned back to the new kids and saw that two were already heading inside the mansion.

The guy was smoking and the girl didn't seem all too bothered. With a small smirk, electricity coursed through her veins and she zoomed forward before stopping beside them and then matching their pace of walking with her hands still inside her pocket. For a moment, she simply walked with them and listened to her talk. "You know there's a lot of things here that wouldn't be missed." She commented suddenly with a voice full of jest. It wasn't like she hadn't done it before and then hosted a treasure hunt event under the professors' noses. Of course, she got caught but hey, it was fun and it helped with cooperation so it wasn't all too bad. "But you should really take a look around the mansion first. It'd be hard to hide when you don't know where the good hiding spots are." Charlotte continued with a light laugh.

"Merde, I forgot to introduce myself. Charlotte Ocampo. And yeah, welcome and all." She said with a grin.

His power? She probably wouldn't be so calm about it if she saw it. Kypher glanced to the side with mild curiosity at the girl that had decided to tag along with him. Edgy? He liked to think he was pretty easygoing, but perhaps this particular individual was a little creative with her character profiling. She didn't seem like the type who had spent a few months roaming the streets, more like a spoilt city girl that liked to rebel. Unlike this self-proclaimed 'living-battery', Kypher didn't have such reservations when it came to judging others. He thought what he saw, nothing less and nothing more. It was tiring hypothesising the inner machinations of people you didn't know, so the young roguish mutant preferred to leave the complex thinking to the nerds. 'I don't judge.' He scoffed silently to himself as they walked; what was this, the feminist club?

And of course another freak just had to join them. Kypher wasn't introverted enough to dislike company, but developing a harem so soon after arriving would make even him uncertain. He knew he was sexy, but he'd been here for literal minutes! Although as he side-eyed the newcomer, Kypher had to admit that it was interesting how blase the girl used her powers to approach them. She seemed slightly older too and he hadn't seen her on the bus, probably already a student by his guess. If she was so ready to perform a heist on the revered Professor Charles Xavier, this 'school' either wasn't particularly strict or she was as deviant as him. As impossible as that was.

"Hmm... Who are you two, a pair of home-schooled larcenists?"

His ever-present smirk was replaced with an expression of disinterest as he gazed off at the mansion ahead, wondering how exciting stealing could even be if the students were already doing it. Breaking the rules was only fun when there were figures of authority to give a shit about it, but things seemed pretty lax around here. That professor certainly didn't seem like the assertive type. Taking a few more pulls from his cigarette, Kypher tossed it to the side without much thought for stubbing it out and stopped at the large set of ornate wooden double doors. Pushing a lock of black hair back into the slicked mass from his forehead, Kypher turned back to the two girls with a more mischievous grin than when he'd first arrived.

"On the contrary, I think we should do as Xavier says and go explore. I wonder how secured his private study is."

The slight Italian accent was barely perceptible in his voice, but it added a tint of charm that matched the sun-glinted aviators half-masking those ravenous brown eyes. He didn't bother to introduce himself and instead turned on his heel and threw open the double doors dramatically. No small time crime such as shoplifting some trinkets was enough to satisfy Kypher, he needed more of a thrill than that. Facing possible expulsion on the first day like the three musketeers was more like it. Of course it was less for the idea of justice and more for adventure, but it was already obvious that the daring mutant didn't sweat the small stuff. Striding off into the mansion, Kypher began scanning around the main reception hall for the nearest locked door or off-limits area.

"Welcome to Mutant High indeed..."

Avery Lee
Avery stumbled through the Academy's grandeur doors with an audible yawn, arms outstretched as if to grasp the sun in a mighty stretch. She rubbed her eyes lazily beneath her blackened glasses, glancing about the courtyard with a forlorn sense of disinterest, it was unsurprising to see the early bustle-and-shuffle of the Academy's new life force, students new and old alike littered the courtyard and cliques and groups, many bared a certain look of unnatural apprehension. What had she missed? Naturally, she'd overslept. Suddenly, Avery perked up in confusion, the absence of the faculty at such a pivotal time both an oddity and a peculiar curiosity. A passive hiss emanated from the large reptilian companion accompanying Avery, it's stretched form embroiled around her body multiple times over, a curiously peaceful head nestling on her right shoulder.

Happily, she paced towards the collection of bickering students with a loose hand caressing the immense python's leathery back. The battle to acquire her own scaly companion was a long and pressing war, Charles was adamant in the enforcement of strict safety protocols and refused to allow anything less than a small hand snake at first. But through the powers of persistence - and willful disobedience - Avery slowly forged her way towards the majestic slithering sibling encoiled upon her now. She supposed, in the end, Charles understood the reliability of her gift in relation to the reptilian rabble, the snake was more dormant than a house cat, a pointless notion when scanning the sheer horror on the new students faces. Most of the longer standing students had long since grown accustomed to Avery's weirdly wonderful pet.

Fortunately for them, tormenting the children wasn't on today's agenda. At least, tormenting them anymore than she already had. No, Avery was curious of the faculty's notable absence, she spied the feint silhouette of Charles and another figure in the distance and dedicated her time closing the expansive green distance between. In her diligent quest for answers, the teenager spied a rather worn-looking Lola stumbling a convenient length of ground away from said meeting. Jormungand let out an assisted hiss as Avery raised an eyebrow, her arms folding knowingly with a mockingly judgmental stare. "Miss Nola Miller," Avery started with a deliberate pause, "Could it be that you're dropping the eaves on our esteemed Professor?" She feigned a dramatic hand over her heart, voice playful and friendly. Of all the students present at the Academy, Lola was her favourite. When you're an angry child struggling with the waking realization you are the living incarnation of a mythological horror pulled from a children's book, you tend to get despondent. In the earliest memories of her time here, Avery was a reclusive hermit who couldn't deign to leave her room. Lola's kindness and concern, coupled with Charles' guidance and reason, pulled her from that lethal pit of psychological vipers. Plus, she makes a pretty mean training partner, minute size aside.

Malik had long since slipped away from the group, moving onto things that seemed far more enterprising than the usual kiss and cry orientations usually were all too prone to. Instead, he had quietly slipped around the corner of the house, taken off his shades - peering over the crazy amount of detail that seemed to make up every inch of the rather ostentatious building, before plopping down on the grass just beside the pool, and taking in some sun, his pale skin enjoying the slight tingling of golden light rays. He would not be able to stay for too long, lest he burn. After a few minutes of listening to the various birds chirping about the gardens, the sounds of children being noisy far away and the light breeze moving through some of the shrubbery - his eyes closed and his face serene, Malik felt the skin on his face start to tingle a bit too much. Rolling his neck, he rolled onto his stomach, pulling up the back of his shirt towards his shoulders - groaning as the light hit his lower back. These people really did not know how lucky they had it.

His memories slowly meandered into his past, despite himself - recalling days, months... what seemed like an entire childhood covered in cold and frost. A heritage that he was not ashamed of, but... who could not feel some sort of envy when seeing the beautiful people with the darker tanned skin. He in turn never managed more than a gentle pink... before the violent reds set in. Jumping forwards a few years, he recalled the first few days along the Southern Coasts of Italy, and the massive amounts of sunburn he had done up, much to the amusement of his hosts. He frowned slightly, as he struggled to recall their faces. They had seemed so important back then. Now... now there was an entire host of faces floating about his mind - their features so similar and yet so different - that he no longer could place who fitted where in his story.

Feeling the same pleasant tingling across his lower back slowly turning a bit more irritating, he could not help another sigh - before he languidly got up from the grass. Seeing a bunch of students rushing past him, all of them jumping into the pool, one of them producing a cannonball large enough to halfway drench him in chlorinated water. Unable to help himself, he quickly turned, and rushed, jumping in as well. After floating around for a bit, talking to them, getting to know the ins and outs of the facility - the shyest among them told him when and where he could find a moment of quiet from the throngs of students, while the more outgoing among them told him of the best make out spots where the staff won't find you too quickly. After a few minutes of messing around, he bit them adieu, before getting out and starting on his way back towards the mansion proper. Walking around the building, away from the pool he took in more of the seemingly endless structure. Before he had dried much, he reached a door - before stepping in, the water dripping onto the wooden floors as his clothing stuck against his skin.

Cringing at the sight of the polished wood being ruined by the water, Malik stepped out again, before poking just his head into the house, calling loudly - "Hey! Anyone have a towel for me!? Don't wanna fuck up the floors!" His heavy Greenlandic accent never having left him, some of the words kinda got lost as they reverberated throughout the house. "Please! It's kinda freezing!" Poking his head in even more, he looked around, trying to spot someone.

Riley smirked. Sneaking into the professor’s personal study would be fun. They thinked alike.
He sounde Italian but she didn't think of it much. Not introducing himself was fine she guessed. She could get him to do so later.
"Lead the way your liege."
She wondered about the secrets of the mansion. Surely there were a few forbidden places to check.
"What do you think we'll find in his personal study?"
She would atleast get her fun for the day. They were bound to discover something eventually.

"Geez, tough crowd." Charlotte mumbled to herself when the two refused to introduce themselves and the girl plain ignored her too. Her eyebrows creased as she walked with them to the entrance before they rose again when they talked about breaking into Professor Xavier's personal study as if that should be the first thing to do in a new school. As much as Charlotte loved messing with the faculty and the other students, she never did enter his study without permission. She was afraid that he would invade her mind if she did.

"Well, you guys have fun. I should really stop you guys from doing it but I don't think you would listen anyway." She gave them a small shrug as she stepped to one of the hallways. She doubted Professor Xavier would expel them from something like this but she wanted no part of it - her self-preservation kicking in. "If you ever need anything else aside from the direction to the study, don't be a stranger!" Or well, they still were but it was the thought that counts. With that, she detached herself from the group. Troublemakers - they were the type she would hang out with but there were things she can't cross without fearing the consequences of it. Perhaps at some other point she would have the ability of getting over psychics, but now was not the time.

As she walked around - an aimless journey - she began to hear someone shouting in the halls. She couldn't quite understand what he was saying but she moved towards the source of the sound to investigate. One of the new guys had been asking for a towel. "Wait a minute, I'll get it for you in a flash!" She called out back before turning and speeding down the hallways. They always told her that she shouldn't use her powers so carelessly, especially within the mansion. But this was far more efficient than just walking correct? Besides, it wasn't like a lot of the kids were inside. They were too busy playing along. She skidded into the laundry room, grabbed a towel before heading back to the door. Once she was in the hallway, she stuck her feet out to stop herself just at the door and brought it in front of him. "And, one towel for the new kid, delivered." She said with a grin on her face.
