I mean its not unusual for new characters to get added over the episodes like in the show. Also regarding your job, I guess it is paid by the hour? I had that when i worked at a Parcel company. On Sundays you head barebones staff so were rushed to meet a 0730 deadline but they only had you start at 0430, So pretty much had people only in for 3 hours which really wasnt worth the travel (Plus nobody liked the Sunday Manager). Was also a similar case on Mondays.
