Elizabeth "Beth" Jefferson
hjmhjkm-png.370723

Unlike some of the others, Beth had made parts of the headquarters skyscraper her home, having left her family home long ago. She preferred to be around at all times should any of her friends require her medical assistance. That also meant there was always food supplies around and the equipment needed to cook something up. "Hey, Jade," she softly replied. Her voice was typically a calming one, unless she was angry and then Beth sounded like a completely different person. "Coffee sounds good. I could knock up a little food to keep you going too," she offered.

When Rosemary joined them, Beth returned her smile with a genuine one of her own. There wasn't much to smile about, but seeing those she cared about was certainly a good reason. Her leader look a little pale. "I'm good. Are you well?" she asked, the tone of her voice making clear she wasn't just asking for the sake of asking. Beth was always on the lookout for injuries and weaknesses, physiological and psychological.

When Rosemary spoke of heading to the border, Beth nodded her head. "I will be joining you," she assured her. If there were signs of trouble, Beth knew to drop back for as long as possible as she needed to keep herself in one piece in order to help her fellow East siders should they become injured. Rosemary had a gentle voice and she was a great leader to the East, so it angered Beth to think all the West wanted to do was cause trouble. The way humans turned on each other made them no better than the mindless freaks they should be fighting together against.

Beth would follow close behind the two women for now. As well as the rucksack containing medical supplies, she had a rifle and handgun on her, though she rarely got to use the weapons. She'd taken many a lesson from Carter, in return for her tending to his injuries, but she only got involved with firing shots when absolutely needed. Still, she had a nice headcount of skin crawlers - they were great shooting targets.

Elizabeth Ellis "Ellie"

Ellie's heart skipped a beat as Bexley's message came through the walkie. Crap, this was not good. If it was someone from the East then they'd be in big trouble. Ellie didn't want war - no one did, really. And for her it meant a lot of heartache, with all the people that would be coming into the hospital, ontop of what they normally had. Which, wasn't much, to be honest, but still. People needed help and there was only Ellie and Marlene around... and whoever was willing to help.

Taking a deep breath, Ellie looked away from the man lying on the table, who she had realized she'd been staring at this entire time. She had a few tears in her eyes. She really wanted this man to be okay. Realizing that his two friends were looking at her, concern in their eyes, she reassured them as best she could. "He will be okay, for now. We will just have to wait and see," she said. "Do you want a cup of coffee?" she asked, not waiting for their answers as she moved into the "break room", as they called it, turning on the coffee maker. She looked around for something to eat, finding some eggs and a few pieces of cow tongue in the fridge. There weren't many vegetables on the West side. It was the East side that had the ability to grow things, and so the West side did without most of the time. It wasn't uncommon to have people come in for vitamin deficiencies, and she usually sent them off with a few vitamins and a few days of rest. Ellie, on the other hand, was able to get vegetables somewhat often. She knew a thing or two, growing up as a kid during all this shit.

She placed two eggs and what was left of the cow tongue in a pan - which was common in most places on the Westside since they ate so much meat. She turned around and poured three cups of coffee, bringing two of them to the man and woman sitting outside, and then returning back to her pan. She had had no intention of sharing her food with them, and she was starving at this point.

Rosemary saw the shift and observance in her friends' eyes. There was little that these two women missed. It gave her a small rush of pride for her faction. She loved it dearly - loved the people in it, felt that she had the best of the best at her back. She gave a sincere knowing look of appreciation as Beth carefully asked after her wellness. She knew the spell this morning had taken a bit of a toll on her, more so than she liked to think of. The color was all but gone from her face, but with her practiced movement and time, she was coming back to herself - slowly, but surely. It wouldn't impede her from seeing to her responsibilities, that much was certain.

She gave a small nod. "I am well. Thank you, Beth. I just had a bit of a hiccup this morning." She flashed a smile, her tone warm and personal as she made light of the harrowing moment, as was her way. Everything was fine, and even if it wasn't, it would be soon.

Rosemary was reassured as both women agreed to accompany her to the border. She grasped both of their hands, warm against her own. There was something about having the dead just beyond their walls that made her appreciate the living all the more. "Thank you both. It may very well be nothing, but its good to be prepared."

She let them go, nodding as Jade thought to bring along assistance. "Good point. I was just thinking of ca-"

The sound of her walkie-talkie cut her short. She took it in her grasp, listening intently as Michael's familiar voice came through.

So there was trouble, and there wasn't any time to lose. Too much could happen - tensions escalated too quickly, especially these days. She wanted to inquire further, but she knew it would be best to be there in person. She hoped Teddy hadn't gotten himself into too deep of trouble. Things were touchy lately, and the westerners seemed to act with force in the face of any suspicion or unease.

"Roger that Handsome Mick, we're en route, bringing reinforcements. Hang tight. See if you can manage to stay alive, will you? You and Teddy. Don't do anything drastic, please." Her voice was even, though real concern managed to fall into it. She knew how brazen Michael and Teddy were on their own, let alone together. She was hoping for the best.

With no need to fill in the two women by her side, as they had heard it all, she gave them a quick glance before she began to head out with hastened, though measured step, knowing they would follow. She fiddled with her walkie-talkie as she went, wanting her words to find anyone that was listening.

"This is Dove, we have a border situation near the North Wall. I'm currently en route, requesting reinforcements, discreet eyes, defense from above, anyone on hand. Does anyone copy?"

The trip seemed to last a lifetime, and all the while she was preparing herself for a various amount of scenarios, not knowing exactly what she would find when she reached the border. It wasn't the first time an altercation had taken place. The blood was running high, and Rosemary was doing everything in her power to ease the tensions. It wasn't proving to be easy, but she had never been a quitter.

When they reached the border, Rosemary shivered beneath her sweater. The temperature dropped so close to the North Wall, behind which the snow fell in thick sheets.

She cast a level look to those in her company, greeting Michael with a nod of her head, spying the other group further down.

"Jade, Michael, at my side, if you would. Let's approach cautiously. We don't want to be the reason Teddy takes a bullet." Rosemary gave an assured glance to Beth, knowing that she would follow a bit behind, ready in case things went sour.

She began to approach the group, her eyes carefully assessing the situation. The westerners had apparently had a good enough reason to cross over the border into their territory, and to point their weapons at one of her men. She was sure it must be a misunderstanding, but she hardly had all the information.

Rosemary hoped a discussion could take place, rather than a fight.

Bex watched as Teddy's jaw set at her words and she knew she had gotten under his skin. Keeping an almost emotionless expression, as he spoke. Immediately noticing the way he was talking was not the way he normally did. For the first time, she saw something that she'd never seen in him before. Something much darker was lurking beneath him, something he was hiding. He might have been able to hide from the others but he was a fool if he thought he could remain unreadable in Bexley's eyes. She had gotten what she wanted, he must have thought that she didn't recognize him. He didn't even know the half of it...

Bexley's own jaw set as she continued to point the gun at him, ignoring the walkie as it went off, informing her that back up was on the way. His next words confused her and made her feel something that she wish she could just stop feeling for him. As much as she wanted to see him burn and suffer for what he did, she couldn't help the familiar sensation to help him, to bring his thoughts back into serenity instead of chaos. Bexley was in no mood to do this man before her any favors and ultimately ruled against trying to comfort him. The smirk that formed on his lips immediately after was almost humorless, as if he was seriously wanting his life to end.

Bexley didn't move as she heard a branch break, knowing that Kyle was here. Confirmation from Teddy proved it as he stated that the kid would finish him off first. Bexley rolled her eyes slightly and shook her head. "They listen to me, no one kills without my direct orders." She told Teddy but it was simply informative, nothing more. As Bexley thought about what she should do, she raised her gun and placed her finger on the trigger. Her eyes looked into the scope of her gun, though there was really no reason for it. "If that's what you really want..." Bexley trailed off, making it seem like she would oblige. Her mind raced as both encouraging thoughts and thoughts of doubt spoke to her. Frustration was setting in again and before she could make any rash decision she released the small button where the magazine was held below. She didn't watch as the magazine of ammo fell to the ground in between them, revealing the decision she had made. "I'm not going to shoot you without knowing all the facts...besides, I think time has certainly punished you enough...I wouldn't want to waste my bullets on you, Theodore." Bexley didn't know why she decided to reveal that she remembered him...Perhaps to get under his skin even further...or maybe she need to say it in order to make it all feel real.

Looking to Kyle, Ava and Andy...she slowly nodded her head. "At ease." She order them all, making sure they lowered their weapons as she saw a group of Hippie trash heading their way. Bex lowered her gun away from Teddy before securing it to her back strap once more, not saying anything more to him as Rosemary showed up. "Oh look who finally decided to show up, any later and your bear over here would have been dead and hung nicely above my mantel." Her eyes flickered to Teddy for a brief moment before turning back to Rosemary.

"Not sure what all you Hippies have been smoking, but if you think you can shoot one of my scouts and get away with it. You couldn't be more wrong. I am not going to wait for answers so you give me what you know and save all the peace and gospel shit okay, Mother Mary!" Bex voice was laced with all types of venom as she spoke to the head of the East. She hadn't trusted the woman since her father's and son's disappearance. They were meeting with the East, there was no way they couldn't have done it in Bexley's eyes. This time seemed no different. "I thought you would have learned you lesson four years ago, Rose old girl, not to mess with my faction."

Avalon was practically bouncing with excitment as more Hippies came to Teddy's side. She aknowledged Andy's arrival with a sharp toothed grin in her direction before turning her head back to the Easterners. Bex's at ease command made her grumble unhappily as she lowered her pistols. Bexley would soon make up for the dissapointing command with her words. Soon, Ava was back to bouncing on the balls of her feet.

The arrival of the East's leader was even better than her leader's threatening words towards them. Avalon's eyes shot back and forth between all of the Easterners she could see, already forming attack plans in her head. Her trigger fingers twitched. Bexley finished her onslaught of words with on last threatening sentence and everything was left to the Hippies. It would've been impossible for Avalon's grin to be any wider.

Avalon, at that moment, looked very much like a feral animal. Brown eyes light with a very much inhuman looking glint. If she were a wolf, she'd be licking her chops at this moment. There was a lot of twitching going on now. A finger, and hand, an eye, every part of her body was shaking with excitement. Like..... like a lion lying in wait for its unsuspecting prey to come waltzing by. Right now, that prey was in the form of Easterners.

Every cocky and snide comment she knew tried to push themselves past her throat, but she kept them down. Being snarky was probably not a very good idea right now no matter how much she wanted to be. So, uncharacteristicly, Avalon stayed silent and settled for tapping her fingers against the handles of her pistols in an impulsive manner. The air around her hung still as she awaited an answer from the East, whether it be words or bullets she'd be ready.

(Just a quick post on mobile so no code or whatever lol)
Jade followed Rosemary as the three women quickly made their way to the border. Rosemary was worried and Jade was too the closer they got to the border. Her mind found comfort somehow in thinking of the worst case scenarios and it busied her for the small journey the group endured to reach the border.

Jade’s leather coat did little to ward away the cold. The coat itself was cold and Jade’s body heat could do little to combat it but it was good protection from the wind that sent her short hair into a disarray. It was still a bit damp from her shower earlier and Jade prayed she didn’t get sick.

The three of them made their way to where the little scuffle seemed to be taking place and Jade wasted no time getting out her pistol. It was still lowered since she didnt’t want to cause an eruption of gunfire since the North faction members seemed way too uptight, but she wasn’t going to be caught off guard. Jade noticed the anger in the woman’s eyes as they landed on the three women and Jade quickly stepped in front of Rosemary before she even started to speak. It was a protective gesture and Jade hoped Rosemary didn’t take offense or try to be the better person and step forward past Jade. Rosemary was far too valuable to get shot by a trigger happy Northener. Jade said nothing after the woman had finished speaking. It seemed like a waste of energy at this point. Even if she did, it would be far from cordial like how Rosemary spoke to these type of people who used every opportunity to cause trouble and start fights. Jade simply strengthened her grip on her pistol and gave the North faction a cool gaze and waited for her leader to speak to the unruly group.

As he waited for the three women to join him, Michael edged a little closer to where Teddy and the Westsiders were. He once again eyed Kyle as he remained in the tree aiming his arrow at Teddy. Michael was confident that when he got a few feet closer he could put enough force behind a throw and lodge his knife in the kid's throat. A brief wave of guilt crossed his mind for thinking of ending a youngster's life, but that was soon washed away when he reminded himself the adults of the group and Kyle himself were perfectly happy to place him in such a dangerous situation. For now, though, no knives would be thrown, so long as no bullets or arrows were fired at his fellow members.

With the arrival of the three ladies, Michael made sure to switch to the light-hearted face they knew so well. It was a face that was usually followed with either a charming or crude remark, but perhaps he wasn't going to bite on this occasion. "Morning, Rosemary," he greeted the leader first. "Jade. Beth," he followed up with a simple nod of his head. On the order, he walked to Rosemary's side. "Cautious is my middle name," he ironically remarked. "Teddy takes a bullet and someone over there takes a knife to the jugular." He glanced back to Beth and gave her a nod. "You stay back there and keep yourself pretty," he teased, knowing he wouldn't get a rise out of her but it was always fun to try. Regardless of his comment, he knew she wasn't staying back for selfish reasons as she'd ran to his aid on many occasions. A dead or injured medic wouldn't be much use to them.

hjmhjkm-png.370723
Beth rolled her eyes at Michael, a reaction he often evoked from her. She liked the guy, but his quirks grated on her at times. She'd be sure to stab him with the needle the next time he needs stitching up.

As they got closer to the Westsiders, Michael took a better look at the three women. All good looking women, but they seemed to have sticks up their asses, unlike the two East ladies to his side. Still, he couldn't help but smirk to Bex's words. He hadn't been called a hippy before, but he could certainly tell her what he could be smoking right now if he hadn't had to walk over here to see what had rattled her cage. Apparently someone had shot one of her people, which was a load of bullshit and he would gladly tell her that if he wasn't inhibiting "Dick Mick" right now. No, he would let his diplomatic ladies do the talking. If the time for more than talking came, then he would gladly partake. One thing for sure was her attitude was starting to piss him off. Is this how the guys felt when he was in cocky mode?

Kyle snorts at the man and said "Well I'm not gonna shoot to harm you when you seemed to have no problem shooting people. " He then shut up as more east people show up including the leader. He kept aiming for the male, he seemed to be the person who hurt one of their people so he wasn't gonna change his aim. Then Andy and Ava showed up. He grinned as his leader chew them out. When she told them to be at ease. He put down his weapon. Wrapping it around his body and jumped down from the tree. Landing with a thump. He looked at Bexley and nodded as he leaned back against the tree he was on. He then looked at the man who was eyeing him from the treetop. "I don't want reckless killing sir, or to kill your lovely east hippie friend. Unless I was ordered to so...you can stop staring at me."

Kyle could be back up there within seconds but he didn't want to be the cause of any more unrest. Having up there ready to shoot would cause more fighting then need be. He then looked at Ava and said to her softly "You want a rush of adrenaline. Try swinging by the tree, and not fall. That's a whole bucket of that shit." He coughed slightly at his words. "Sorry ma'am. " He then just shut up. He was tired of talking.

Atticus nodded his head in understanding as his father said it had depended on the situation but he never got the chance to finish as they stepped out into the busy civilization, momentarily pausing the conversation as they walked through the hustle and bustle of a typical morning in Khal. Atticus was tall for his age, although still only standing a little above his father's waist, his long legs kept up with his fathers taking in the world he knew so well around him. Atticus was truly happy in Khal, though he really didn't know what life was like beyond the wall. He wondered if the people were much like their own here....did they have skin crawlers like they did? Atticus was terrified of them. As a small child, his only memory had been that of a skin crawler trying to get him. Rhett had saved him from death.

Atticus was pulled from a memory that terrified him so as Rhett began speaking again, reminding him that his mother had abandoned him on the South side, where he was born. The boys eyes scrunched together as he wondered why any mother would do such a thing. At times, the boy would be depressed seeing his friends with both a mother and a father. He desperately wondered what having a mother was like. He knew it was lovely, as his best friend, Wendy informed him. Wendy's mother was lovely, just like her daughter. She had a warm smile and a soft gentle voice and always fed them great food. And when Atticus was allowed to spend the night, her mother would read them stories and sing them to sleep. He wondered what his mother was like...if she was anything like Wendy's mother.

Atticus offered his father a faint smile as he told him that they didn't need a mother and that even though Rhett wasn't his real father, he loved Atticus very much. Atticus hugged him tightly and mumbled, "I love you too." Into his shoulder. He always questioned if there was something wrong with him, if he had done something for his mother to leave him...but for the very first time, he voiced it to Rhett. Pulling away from the hug slightly, the tears were thick in his eyes as he tried to keep them in, looking into his fathers eyes.

"Father....why would my mama leave me? Wendy's mom didn't leave her....she's so sweet and kind....Is there something wrong with me?"

Rhett ran a hand through Atticus’s curls, and he heard the boy began to sob. Closing his eyes, hearing the muffled sounds of his sobbing always saddened him. It was a sound he hated dearly, and it always struck a chord...

Atticus’s classy eyes stared back at him, causing him to frown. His left knee, which was in the snow, was beginning to chill. But it didn’t matter, he could lose a leg if needed. And the question that followed only made him hurt more. Taking a deep breath, he glanced briefly at the snow, gathering his words. Then he placed both hands on Atticus’s shoulders, his saddened icy eyes starting back at the boy.

Atticus Otto, there is nothing wrong with you... You’re the most creative, and curious person i’ve ever come across in life, there’s nothing wrong with you... As for your mother... Well that I do not know... But I know this. Not having a mother shouldn’t define what life should be, or what is the normal. You are my son, as I am your father... Now we may be missing a few pieces of the puzzle in the family, but a puzzle is art, therefore not every piece is needed...”

Taking a deep breath, the conversation starting to take a emotional toll on the man, he stood up. He began to the War Room, noticing the footsteps of Atticus did not follow immediately. Pausing, he turned his head, extended his hand to hold, and smiled warmly. “Come on pup, adventure beyond the wall awaits..”

Elijah hated life, he always has. Life clearly didn't give a damn about his family and it definitely didn't give a damn about him. The young kid knew he was all alone in the room he shared with his siblings;
the sound of his younger brother, Kyle, waking the nerd up. As Elijah rubbed his eyes and slipped his glasses over his nose, he turned around and saw his sister, Manon, sleeping without breathing. Elijah ripped the blanket off only to reveal a bunch of dirty clothes instead of his sister. Elijah groaned loudly before standing up from his own little bed and dressed himself in his favourite Hawaiian shirt. The boy made his way out of the tiny room, grabbing his walkie-talkie and one of his sister's guns before making his way into the forest.

As the twigs crunched underneath Elijah's shoes, he followed the trail of fallen sticks and leaves on the ground. "Kyle," Elijah groaned, knowing how clumsy his little brother could be when he climbed trees.
His grip on the handgun tightened as he moved closer to the border, noticing familiar faces from the west side. Elijah pushed his glasses up and raced towards the group, noticing his brother leaning against the tree. The boy tapped his brother on the shoulder before speaking to him, "Thanks for leaving me behind with a bunch of clothes, Kyle." He sighed with sarcasm, "Who's that guy?" Eli pointed to the man speaking with Bex.

Atticus was comforted by his father as he ran his hand through the boys curls. Crying sometimes was the only way Atticus could get over this feeling. Atticus tried to quit crying for the sake of his father, knowing how much it saddened him as well, to see his son in such a state. The boy blinked a few times and looked down at the snow, noticing that his father had still been kneeling in it, the boy was about to voice his concern for his leg when Rhett spoke.

The words were kind and honest, Atticus could tell just by the way his father's tone was and the true sadness that showed in his eyes. Looking at the man in front of him, Atty was grateful for him and loved him more than he could ever begin to imagine anyone else. His father, though not blood related, had provided everything from him. Had saved him. Another familiar feeling came over him and he knew it just as well as the one before. He felt guilt for making such a fuss over his mother.

He should have been grateful for what he had. He always had to remind himself that. But the curiosity of knowing the woman who carried him for 9 months and birthed him was strong. Did he look like her? He had always wondered where his blue eyes and light brown curls came from, his lanky height and thicker brows. He had wondered what his parents looked like all the time and could never picture them properly. The image in his head always being shrouded by typical stereotypes of what the typical parent would be.

As his father spoke to him and finished his words, Atty realized something that he hadn't before in his life. This man was his only real parent. His "mother and father " didn't want him and that was fine. The person in front of him was all he would every need and he was undoubtedly loyal to him. He was right, not every piece was needed. The ones they had were working just fine for them and would continue to do so. Atticus' tears ceased then but as his father took a step towards the war room, he hesitated. Atticus wasn't sure what he had done to deserve him. But as he took his fathers hand, the little pup knew he would never leave this pack. "I'm ready Father." He said to him, his own smile returning.

The War Room was a magnificent building within Khal, and personally was Rhett’s favorite. Converted from a old centuray cathedral, the interior was quite the contrary. The windowpanes allowed the light to shine in oddly, making light quite sporadic and candles a nessecity. The floor of the main sermon area was lined with rugs and furs, the pews still in place, which covered the bitter cold concrete. At tha altar sat his ancient wood desk, as well as a his chair, both taken from the priests office above. Two smaller chairs were in front of said desk, occupied by the scout from the wall, and the church mosaic sat squarely behind the desk. Violette’s office was stowed upstairs, along with the captains and such... Rhett ushered Atticus gently to the upmost pew, seeing as Violette would need the other seat at the desk today. Now it was time for business.

I hope the trek back wasn’t to bad comrade, Violette should be joining us shortly.” Patting the scout’s heavily furred back, he took his seat at his desk, and heard the footsteps of his coleader echo through the church. Once she was ready to go, he nodded to the scout to tell his story...

Well ya’ see Mr. Otto, us scouts were in our usual spot. Ya know, behind the drift bout 3 miles out...? Anyhow, me and another scout we’re on duty see, and this.. Person is visible atop the wall. Now I know it ain’t that rare, but it was kinda alarmin’ Sir....”

Teddy was caught in some mad, hyper-realistic delirium. He had been the moment he had caught sight of the girl he had lost all that time ago, and was plunged far beyond the surface when there was no recollection in her expression, no closeness in her voice. He was reckless on a good day, but this was pushing him into a place he was almost surprised he could slip into so easily. Bexley was treating him like a stranger, and maybe that was all he was to her now. It seemed that she severely wanted to pull the trigger, and maybe that was fine. Maybe there was nothing to stick around for. Maybe he had it coming. He had told himself as much in the past years. It was only a confirmation of what had been drilled into him since his youth. Everything that they had shared - it was nothing to her now, and it was his fault. He had crushed it in his hands. He had done it himself, and it had been inevitable.

He wasn't even sure if he was daring her or asking her anymore. She raised her gun, and her finger slipped onto the trigger. Would this be his end? Dying at her hand, just an easterner at the end of the barrel of the gun. It almost physically hurt to think that it would be easy for her. He was alone in his anguish. She was indifferent.

All was shattered as he watched her eject the magazine of ammo from her gun. He watched, dumbstruck, his features softening for a brief moment in surprise.

"...time has certainly punished you enough... I wouldn't want to waste my bullets on you, Theodore."

The chilly, formal voicing of his name from between her lips ran down his spine like ice, and it was as if he were awaken by it, shocked back to life. He felt suddenly foolish for his actions of just a few moments before. There was no cause for them now.

She knew. She had known who he was the whole time, and obviously, she hadn't forgotten a thing. Even with that knowledge, she hadn't pulled the trigger. The thought rested in his chest momentarily like a glowing ember, as if her not killing him basically on sight was a hopeful sign, and maybe it was. She might've just genuinely not wanted to waste a bullet on him, but he found himself doubting it. There were still some things he could see clearly. Her words that came before still rung in his head. "I think time has punished you enough." He wasn't the only one seeing clearly.

Teddy hardly noticed when Rosemary, Jade, Michael, and Beth arrived. Hell, he hadn't noticed the women who had come to Bexley's side, even as one of them had lightly addressed him. His eyes were still caught on Bexley until she spoke again, this time to the leader of his faction, and the world came crashing back down on him. He straightened to his full height, catching Bexley's quick glance as she referred to him.

Apparently, she remembered much more than she was letting on. He fought to keep a stupid half-smirk from finding his expression, struggling to focus on the situation at hand.

/

Rosemary prepared herself further with every step she took closer to the group, briefly cracking an already fading smile at Michael's snide remark in response her push for caution. She didn't react physically as Jade slightly stepped in front of her in a protective gesture, but she hoped her appreciation would be felt by the other women, without words. Rosemary wasn't a fighter. She didn't have the strength that most in her close circle possessed, and she was thankful whenever she received any sort of support, even in small ways. It helped to banish any lingering fear or uncertainty. She was surrounded by her own - comforted with Jade and Michael at her side and Beth in the wings. She felt the gesture closely, and her fondness for Jade came to the forefront for one moment, before Bexley's words overtook the space. There would be no civil greetings today. She wasn't surprised.

Rosemary's eyes flickered to Teddy, quickly assessing him, acutely relieved to find that he seemed utterly unharmed. A little shaken perhaps, from the mix of emotions on his face, but unharmed. Her expression remained even, though she let a small, neutrally amiable smile touch her lips.

"It is fortunate then that I was able to arrive in a timely manner."

Rosemary didn't shy away from Bexley's harsh words, her accusations, the venom in her tone, or even the mention of the incident four years passed - what had brought on the rift that she had been so earnestly trying to mend.

Her eyes briefly found the child in the tree, and the one beneath. Listening as the one in the tree spoke, her heart ached a bit to see ones so young.

One of the western men had been shot, and Bexley, unsurprisingly, blamed her and her people. This didn't bode well. The leader of the west had a habit of not believing her reasoning, despite her lack of evidence. Rosemary decided to be as forthright and straight forward as she could be. It wasn't the time for pleasantries, and she would do all that was in her power to prevent this from dissolving into a fight.

"I am sorry to hear that one of your men has been wounded - and it is, truly, the very first I am hearing of it. I have not been contacted about any altercation, save for your crossing the border and holding Ashworth at gunpoint. Only Ashworth and Wilson were on patrol this morning. Did either of you witness this event?"

Rosemary caught Teddy's slight shake of his head. "Not me. It was an uneventful night. Been with Mick 'til sunrise, when I broke off to do a round. Didn't meet anyone on the way until-." His eyes flickered to Bexley once more.

She noted that his tone was slightly distant, as if his mind were somewhere else. She looked up gently to Michael at her side to hear his account, to confirm or dispel Teddy's word, before she looked back to the leader of the west.

"Did any of your men witness this event? Has your wounded man been able to relate who it was that shot him?" She felt a bit more stable than she had earlier that morning, minutes coming easier the further the sun came into the sky. Still, she was chilled to the bone beneath her sweater, and the breeze from over the North Wall stirred restlessly through her blonde curls.

Bexley hadn't missed the half smirk that formed on his lips and the softening of his expression as he realized that she hadn't forgotten him. She would have been insulted...if it hadn't been almost ten years since she saw him last. instead she focused on their meek leader as she stepped forward. The way she spoke set Bexley's emotions on fire, like fingernails on a chalkboard. To her, in times like this, peace didn't exist. The cause she was trying to push much like a religion was a lost one, especially on the ears of the West. Bexley fought the urge to roll her eyes once more as her jaw clenched even harder. The smile that formed on Mother Mary's lips made her nostrils flare.

Bexley thought the girl might have been wearing red as she was certainly messing with the bull now, and if she thought she wouldn't get the horns....She didn't respond to her bitter attitude which left Bexley unsatisfied, Teddy was much more entertaining to watch squirm. The woman was remarkably calm compared to their first encounter, remembering how she left it.

Bexley was a freshly new leader...and had no clue what she was starting as she walked up to the leader of the East. Her nose was practically against hers as she let the words slip from her lips, "A debt will be repaid...The West never forgets lil darlin'" Her tone was venomous as she spit out "lil darlin'" like it was a sin. Turning and walking away from Rosemary, the strength she had before now melting as she was sure no one but her own people could see her face. Hot angry tears streamed down them as she felt her whole world fall around her...dreading returning to a silent house...she wished she could end her miserable existence right then and there...Saloon needed her.

Staring at the woman now she couldn't help but noticed how much she changed. The woman looked uneven and panicked when Bexley first encountered her. Sometimes Bex forgot they were all the same...simply human, aging and growing like they were suppose to. Bexley listened as Rosemary addressed Teddy and the West leaders eyes returned to stare at a ghost who had haunted her life for almost a decade since she had forced herself to believe he was gone. He reported that he hadn't seen anything and as much as Bex wanted to deny it, she could tell he was being honest...it was the same look in his eye that he had the night of their break up.

Bexley was unnerved by this as she then looked around. Her eyes traveled along the wall momentarily before letting out a harsh scoff. "You can't honestly expect me to believe that someone shot my scout from the north side of-"That's when a throat cleared from behind her. One of her scouts was walking up to the group, covered in blood. "Got your message." He said as he looked between the two groups. "And that's exactly what happened." The man was trusted in the community and Bexley wasn't sure what motive he would have for lying to her. There was really only one thing to do. Bexley looked to Rosemary, staring at her in silence for a moment, watching for any signs of true dishonesty in her eyes. Whens she saw none, Bexley ran both her hands down her face in frustration and abruptly turned to the closest oak tree near the wall.

Looking up at the tree, Bexley was propelled back into time, to the first time her father had taught her how to climb one...it had been a much simpler time.

"You got it Bee!, you are almost to the top! Just don't look down!" Her paw paw had called out from below the large oak tree in the center of Central park. The world was still a normal place, no skin crawlers, no worries. Little Bex shook her head as she hugged the tree trunk as she stood on the second to the top branch. "I can't paw paw!! Everything is spinning!!!!!" The height terrified her so. "Deep breaths Bee! My lil lone ranger is fearless! If you fall, you will get back up again Bexley...You are a fighter!"

The words echoed in her head as she continued to look up at the large tree. Carefully, she placed her foot against the trunk and grabbed the first low branch before pulling herself up and disappearing into the leaves. Bex shook slowly as she tried to get use to the height and continued to climb. "Deep breaths Bex....you can do this...." Bexley managed to expertly climb the longer branch of the tree and shimmied her way over to the end. Her heart raced as she saw the space between her and the wall. Biting her lip, she knew what she would have to do. Without a second thought, Bex threw herself from the branch and propelled to the wall. her feet were the first to reach it as they slid down their own southern side, her hands slamming against the wall as she gripped the edge. Bexley hoisted herself up quickly, when another distracting memory was triggered by jumping.

Teddy laughed as Bexley stood high in the tree, having gotten too high and was refusing to come down. "I'm gonna leave you out here!" he teased with a large smile on his face as he looked up into the sky at her. Bexley glared playfully but no sassy remarks escaped her lips, clearly age changing the once delightfully young and passionate 18 year old girl. "You would never do that!" She protested, her voice as sure as ever. Her lovers boyish smile reappeared and the earnest in his eye was enough for her to believe him. "I will always catch you when you fall." He vowed to her....and just like that...she fell.

"SHIT!" Bexley's foot slipping on ice as the memory had consumed her attention to detail. Falling feet first, the woman's arm flailed around as she plunged into the frozen tundra of Harlem Her body slammed hard against the wall as her hand managed to grab the edge. The ice was so cold it burned her exposed flesh, fingers beginning to feel like a flame ignited on her from gripping it, causing the normally brave and fearless woman to cry out, realizing suddenly that no one would be there to catch her when she fell.

Avalon Dalton

Avalon's fidgeting had stopped the moment Rosemary started talking. Choosing to ignore Kyle after flicking him subconsciously on the ear. It was only just now that she was realizing whoever had killed their scout hasn't been seen, but anyone on the West side anyway. It seemed a hopeless endeavour to pin it on the East without any sort of proof. But, Bexley was set in her accusation and so, as a result, was Avalon.

All that changed the second a bloody scout staggered up to them and claimed that....that someone from over the wall had shot the scout. Avalon's smile dropped and everything deemed to halt for a moment. There was someone on the north side of the wall that shot their scout. Avalon was about to speak when Bexley started moving.

No one really had any time to react before their leader was over the wall. Avalon's eyes widened considerably at the sight. Was she insane? Avalon shot a look at Kyle, trying to relay a message that she didn't even know what was, before bolstering her guns and running up to the wall.

"Bexley! Are you literally insane?!" Avalon's foot connected with the wall,"Shit." Her fist hit next and she pushed away from the wall, starting to pace along a short length of it.

"Shit." Avalon repeated. This was so not good.

Jade watched the altercation between the two leaders very carefully. She knew about the feud between the two but didn’t exactly understand it. She just knew Bexley was angry at Rosemary for something. Was that anger enough to push the woman to attack over an incident that there was no proof saying it was the East faction’s fault?

The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Everyone seemed to overwhelmed with this meeting, Jade noticed. It seemed there were so many different emotions as the people faced each other off, most likely reminded of their past that either hurt too much to talk about or instilled pure fury. Jade was glad that she had never been caught up in situations like this with other people. It seemed she was the only one here not clouded by emotions.

Jade’s finger immediately hovered over the trigger of her gun when she saw a figure approaching swiftly, but she noticed his raggedy appearance flecked with drying blood and stood down.

The man spoke and Jade overheard him. He had confirmed the East faction had done absolutely nothing. Jade could care less if they believed him or still chose to continue the argument just because they felt a little riled today. She turned to the others and tilted her head, telling the group they should make their way back. Jade heard a cry and turned back around to see Bexley gone. Jade’s eyes scanned the group before they turned upwards and saw a figure hanging from the wall. Did the woman really just attempt to climb a wall? For what purpose? Jade was fine with leading her Faction members away from the situation and continuing on home while Bexley’s faction tried to help her out. Everyone seemed frozen for some reason as they watched the woman hang there, and Jade let out an annoyed sigh.

“If any of you shoot me while I try to help her out, just know my ghost will be haunting you.” Jade commented dryly as she bolstered her gun and strode over. She pushed past some people and expected to be shot down before she reached the tree.

Even the bark was cold and it bit into her palms as she made her way up. Moving warmed her body up a bit and she went faste, pulling herself up branch by branch before reaching the point Bexley had but failed to make the jump. Jade followed after the woman’s footsteps but made the jump and landed squarely on the side of the wall. It seemed to be even colder up here and Jade had more regret than ever.

Jade realized Bexley was too far down to reach over and grab. The whole situation looked like Scar and Mufasa and Jade did have an image of her releasing Bexley’s hands from the ice and watching her fall momentarily flash through her head.

“Bexley, can you not climb up or something? There’s not much I can do unless you want me to climb down and i don’t know, help you find places in the ice to help you climb up like I’m a wall climbing instructor. You’re going to have to snap out of this weird stupor and use the appendages you were born with.” Jade called to the woman below. Maybe her people should go to the bottom and try to do one of those cheerleader positions they formed with flyers after the launched them 15 feet in the air. It was gonna have to be a last resort.

Kyle glares at Ava as she flicks his ear, which he's told her not to do on multiple occasions. He was surprised when Elijah showed up, and signals to the east "East Hippies. And how am I'm supposed to know where our darling sister is. The woman probably can't hear us as she turned off her hearing aid last night due to our bickering. " He then watched as everything broke out. Next thing he knew, Bex was over the wall and everything went crazy. Along with a girl from the east, and Ava. He went into actions. Kyle looked at Eli "Use your peaceful talk with everyone and get them to help!"

Kyle climbed his tree in record speed and had jumped to the wall in under 5 minutes. He quickly grabbed his gloves which he keeps for his training for parkor which he had after this. He puts them on as he grips the cold wall. He looks at the girl who was trying to help and spoke softly to her "She's too far down to bring back up. Our best choice is to lead her to ground. I know a few minutes ago I was pointing an arrow at your man head but I hate reckless killing and death. So don't expect me to hurt you unless I have to. Or anyone. " He then gripped the wall and started to climb down to Bex.

It was freezing of course but he didn't care as he slowly climbed down to Bex. When he got to her and breathed in softly. He started to speak "Hey Bex...look at me." Kyle moved closer and closer to her. "Remember, the training we did together. It was the first time that anyone really told me I was good. Except for Manon but she raised me so I can't trust her judgment. After that, I started putting my loyalty to you. I don't think I made a bad choice. But you have to keep holding on bex. Cause we can't lose you. We need you Mum." The words slipping out before he had a chance to keep them in. But it was true, Manon was his Mom but Bex has always been his Mum. He would never be ok if something happen to her. Never.

"You never know when you're gonna lose someone. You never know who you never gonna meet."

The scout had been watching the scene above the wall unfold atop his motorsled, behind The Banks. Snow drifts the size of olden building had built up over the years, now serving for the housing and hiding of the Khalian Scouts and Rangers. And the motorsleds, motorcycles converted for snow travel were the primary transport for them. One of the scouts had gone off to report to the Northern Wolf about the recent disturbances, but now the information needed updating... The man’s thoughts were abruptly interrupted as he heard the scream of the bloody woman he had been watching. Foolish Southerner...

Reving his bike, he shot across the snow, his furs flapping aggressively in the wind. Skidding to a stop, he leaped off the bike and ran towards the falling woman, arms open... He caught her no doubt, but the force sent both tumbling in the snow. Another thud quickly followed, another dumbass. Grumbling as he grabbed the woman’s pistol from the snow, he stood up, pointing his gun at the two. “Now I suggest ye’ tell me your names, and what the fuck you were doing atop the wall? Because this will decide if ye’ live or die.”

The sound of the other’s bikes soon filled the air, as the other 4 rangers on duty circled the two. Blocking all escape routes for the two, and locking him in.

Teddy was busy trying to focus and actively listen as the conversation proceeded, which proved difficult with Bexley just a few feet away. It was just like he was back in those tutoring sessions from years back, young, dumb, and in love, trying to actually learn, and finding it hopeless with her in the room. There was nothing to be done about it, save for what he actually wanted to do, and that was completely out of the question. She had had a gun at his head only a few minutes ago, and her anger was the serious kind, not the fun kind. There were bigger things to worry about, he just couldn't really manage to recall what they were.

His foolish reverie was broken as he watched Bexley steadily stride to the oak tree nearest the North Wall. His thick brow drew, and he slung his automatic rifle onto his back, taking a small step forward. "Bex?" It was a low mumble, and he quickly glanced to the others, as if he could discern anything simply by seeing their expressions. Seeing her scale the tree reminded him of something, but he was to anxious to remember what it was. He watched, tense, taking another few hastened steps as she leapt from the tree to the wall, almost swearing aloud as she slid. Another moment, the world went silent, and she slipped.

"BEX." He was moving in a second, reaching the tree and beginning to scale it with all the practiced agility he had built up over the years. Her cry cut him through like a blade. "HANG ON!" He didn't know if she could hear him, or if she had already fallen over the wall. Maybe it was the East in him that made him hope for the best.

It seemed he wasn't the only one who decided to try and go after Bexley, and that was more than alright with him. She would need all the help she could get if she was still hanging off the side, and all he cared about was making sure she came back over the wall. It didn't even occur to him that a Westerner might try and put a bullet in his back, but that wasn't groundbreaking. Little occurred to him, even out of crisis situations.

The jump from the tree to the wall was nothing to him - like hopping onto a curb. The kid in him briefly rejoiced that his long limbs had proven good for something.

The wind howled as he peered over the side, and he didn't even notice how hard he was shivering, flecks of snow catching in his dark-chestnut hair. There she was, still hanging onto the other side of the wall. He winced, though he was relieved. He quickly crouched, laying out over the wall, feeling the cold through his gear, through his clothes. He saw the kid from the tree begin to descend, and he almost managed to grab him before he sunk beyond his grasp. Was he gonna have to watch Bex and the kid fall?

Teddy looked up briefly as he heard Jade shout down to Bex, finding that the woman was by his side. "Jade! I can lower you down if you think you can grab her!" They were frantic, scattered words over the rise of the wind. He couldn't think of anything else to do, and if he didn't do something, he would lose her, for good this time.

Still waiting for a word from Jade, he reached down as far as he could, his bare hand and forearm going numb from the cold. "Bex! Can you reach for me? I can't-" With a grunt of effort from deep in his chest, he extended as far as he could without falling over the edge. "Can't lose you again!" He was speaking without thinking, something he did often, but now his words rose to a point - when desperation clasped itself against him.

Teddy watched her fall, and disappear into the flurry. "NO!"

He only allowed himself to be stunned for a moment before he was hoisting himself over the edge, clinging to it as he started to make his way down the other side, immersing himself in the bitter cold. A string of curse words escaped him in a steady stream and he tried to scale his way down, his hands numb and burning against the wall. He grit his teeth, moving a bit too hastily for a moment, and then he was falling, landing heavily into the snow, the breath knocked violently from his lungs.

Rosemary was pleased to see that one of Bexley's men came forward to confirm that the East had nothing to do with the incident. If Bexley was going to believe anyone, it was one of her own. For the moment, the weight of the confrontation was taken from her shoulders, and she took a quiet breath of relief.

Still, all was not finished. She watched apprehensively as the leader of the West strode to a tall oak tree and began to climb it. Rosemary let out a small sound of surprise as Bexley leapt. "What is she-"

She was cut off as Bexley slipped and fell off the other side, a soft gasp ripping from her throat, and she instinctively grasped Jade and Michael's arms. She heard Jade's parting words, and she let her go as she strode forward, reaching after her for just a moment more, protectiveness rippling through her.

"Jade! Be careful!" Her voice was even, but rising with concern. She couldn't lose Jade. She glanced to the Westerners, noting quickly that they were in too much of a chaos amongst themselves to try and shoot one of her own. Would they lose their leader today? Over something so minuscule in the grand scheme? She worried for them.

Both Teddy and Jade were climbing the tree, and she wondered why Teddy had been so quick to go to Bexley's aid after she had just threatened his life. There seemed to be more to the situation than either had let on, more that she was missing.

She realized she was still holding onto Michael, and she let go with a quiet word of apology. She looked back, curls picking up about her face with the wind, her eyes finding Beth.

"Beth, be ready to tend to our own, and to Bexley if they manage to bring her back." Rosemary never let a chance to bridge the gap between their factions slide. She wouldn't have her people look the other way when they had the opportunity to help their fellow man. The dead had taken the world, and in her eyes, the living could do little but stand together.

MARLENE FAUST .

Marlene had been in another room in the hospital, quite far from Ellie, treating a woman who had a serious spinal cord injury and a gunshot wound. She was a minor scout who walked over the border and into Taurus territory. Scouts from the East shot at her, and as she ran back, a bullet hit and severed her spinal cord. Other Saloon scouts who were with her brought her to the hospital, where Marlene placed her on a rigid hospital stretcher and sedated her with anesthetics so she wouldn't move around so much, which could potentially cause more injury to her spinal cord.

She then applied pressure to the wound and performed an X-ray as well as a few MRI scans, which revealed injury to her lumbar as well. Fragments of bones were compressing her spine and the bullet was lodged in her spinal cord. The woman was breathing fine though her blood pressure was somewhat high, likely due to pain. Marlene monitored her vitals and put her on 30 mg of methylprednisolone intravenous, which would help with the inflammation and ease the pain. watched the woman's blood pressure lower slightly, which was a good sign.

The bullet would have to be removed and Marlene would have to be the one to do it. Being the current medical head, she had been taught to perform surgeries from other surgeons. She began to clean her tools, making sure everything she needed was there, when a nurse, seeming very frantic and anxious, burst into the room. "Doctor, come quickly! There is a man in the ER who needs to be seen urgently! the nurse screeched nervously. Marlene sighed, looking at her current patient and then looking back at the nurse.

"Are there any other nurses who could treat the patient?" she asked, but the nurse shook her head.

"Nurse Ellie has been looking after him for now, but I'm afraid we need a doctor. He is in critical condition," she said, sounding almost angry. Marlene nodded and exited the room, leaving the nurse in there. "Please monitor this patient's vitals. If you can, contact any surgeons within the hospital and make sure they dislodge the bullet in the patient's spinal cord," she said and the nurse nodded.

Marlene was given the number of the room where Ellie and the patient were located. She saw Ellie being hospitable towards a man and woman before going back into the room. She assumed that they were the ones who brought the patient in and she opened the door to see the patient, approaching him. His breathing was low and somewhat erratic. Marlene checked his vitals and his oxygen levels were slowly diminishing so she put him on a ventilator. She saw that Ellie had wrapped up his wounds with a gauze and she looked back at Ellie.

"Did you apply surgical dressing to the patient's wounds?" Marlene asked her with a bit of curiosity. She truly hoped that she did, otherwise, the gauze would have to be removed and a new one would have to be applied. She watched his oxygen levels raise slowly but surely. "Also, did you apply a topical antibiotic or antiseptic to the wounds?"

Michael "Mick" Wilson~ & ~
Elizabeth "Beth" Jefferson
giphy.gif Michael raised a curious eyebrow as Kyle assured him he didn't want to kill his "hippie friend". He'd have laughed at Teddy's expense were this not apparently a serious altercation. "No reckless killing from me either, I can assure you of that," he agreed with the kid. He ceased looking up at Kyle, knowing exactly where to aim the knife by now without having to keep focused on the young victim. It seemed like he wouldn't be needed to retaliate, anyway, so he wouldn't have to add a human child to his kill list just yet.

When Rosemary asked him and Teddy to confirm they had not witnessed the Westsider being shot, he looked to Bex with a cocky expression. "As my buddy, Ashworth, said. It was a pretty uneventful night... I'd even go as far as to say it was pretty dull and boring. If I'd witnessed your friend being shot, I would have been straight on that shit. The only things I want to be shooting at are shit-breathed skin crawlers." It wasn't long before a scout from the West appeared on the scene and confirmed it was actually someone from the North who had shot their friend. Michael really couldn't help himself in situations like these. "Would you look at that? We were telling the truth," he cockily remarked, an irritated stare sent towards Bex. Before he could follow up with a further remark, Bex began climbing the tree to get up onto the wall. He wasn't quite sure what crazy stunt she was pulling, but part of Michael was content for him and his friends to just walk away from this. But then she fell and his attention was once again drawn to the wall. It seemed like her foolish act was bound to involve them too. The Eastsiders weren't ones to just turn their backs on those in need. Apparently, even those who had minutes earlier being threatening to shoot his friend, Teddy. Teddy, who was now following behind her, the kid and Jade. "What the actual fuck?!" he muttered to himself.

nb nb.png Michael wasn't completely oblivious to Rosemary's prolonged hold on his arm. Why would he miss something like that? When she apologised, Michael turned to look at her and sent her a reassuring smile. "No need to apologise, darling," he warmly told her. He then glanced back to the wall for a brief moment. "I'm right here, whatever you need me to do," he trailed off. He glanced around, wondering if there was a long rope or anything they could tie to the tree to hoist their foolish friends - and Westerners - up with.

Beth had watched the craziness from a distance, completely baffled as to why people had decided to get onto the wall in the first place. Then when some fell and others climbed down, she wasn't sure what to make of it, so rushed towards Rosemary and Michael, glancing over her shoulder to see if she could spot their trusty marksmen nearby. "I'm ready, Rosemary," she firmly assured her. The suggestion she would also need to be ready to tend to Bexley wasn't met with any surprise or protest. She didn't like that the woman had threatened Teddy, but these were tense times and Beth believed in protecting her fellow human beings. The East/West feud always seemed to be a petty waste of resources and energy anyway.

Dr. Ivan Salazar

' Demonio, que paso? '

One moment, everything was going perfectly fine. There was never a shortage of Wyrms on this side of the modern world and the paralytic poison he had been tested was working, albeit, not as quickly as he had hoped. The zombie would drop after roughly 30 - 40 seconds instead of the expected 10 - 15. It was almost triple the length. The concoction would need to be altered but at least this prototype worked. The skin scrawler would get up after a minute but it wpuld take an average of 10 minutes before it could move normally again.

All in all, things went well.

Then the sound of small, but powerful engines reached his ears. Ivan readjusted the grey camo cloak before quietly heading off in the direction of the noise. It took some time but he eventually arrived at a rather curious scene. The sound he had heard was snow mobiles that belonged to Kahl scouts. At least it wasn't a more questionable source.

Dr. Salazar was roughly 350 meters away from the gathering of scouts, upon an elevation in the terrain. The overgrown trees causing the concrete to lift up and form snowy hills in random places. There, the man laid down used his arms to kick up some snow atop of his body, further camouflaging him into the enviroment. A grey eye peered through the lens of his rifle and suddenly things became much clearer. Apparently some lost lambs found themselves on the wrong side of the wall. None of the scouts were communicating via radio so Ivan safely assumed they hadn't reported back.

The man flipped to the appropriate channel,
"Doctor Salazar reportando. It seems your scouts have found some extranjeros near the wall. I am watching from afar.

Also, the experiment works but not as quickly as I'd like. I can show you when you have time."

After that was reported, Ivan flipped to the general channel of the Kahl to alert the scouts of his presence. His deep voice spoke quietly so that the lambs would have to really listen to hear them. Chances were they were too worried about the guns in their faces to worry about that.

The doctor had a deadeye that would impress even a skilled marksman. If the foreigners even made a twitch in a way he didn't like, a bullet would be sent over to land just next to them as a warning shot. The one after that wouldn't miss.

"This is Doctor Salazar. I can see you through my rifle. If anything happens, I can cover you. Over and out."

The day ought to be as ordinary and harmonious as ever. Farmers and scavengers had been stashing the fresh supplies; medics had been tending the wounded from the violent confrontations of the days past; and scouts -- the undeniable backbone of the community -- had been performing a daily recon on the strictly assigned areas. Brandy's recon had commenced on the outskirts of Midtown -- dangerously close to the eastern edge of Central Park, a territory whose largest chunk belongs to the West. He would remember the old times whenever he traversed the road separating the Upper East Side and the Park -- the times when the Park did not have a sniper hiding in every bush. The times when people from all ends of the metropolis could escape the concrete jungle and re-connect with nature for a short while. He considered himself lucky for patrolling such a melancholic route on a daily basis, temporarily forgetting the uncaring and unforgiving reality he happened to inhabit.

He would end his patrol on the edge of East Side, near the infamous Wall which divided the North from the rest of the City. He'd heard the rumours spread among the Easterners and most likely shared by their brethren in the West, yet he could not care less. No matter how late in the day he was patrolling, not even a single living being had trespassed the almighty Wall. He did, however, have a sparkle of curiosity deep within his mind -- a dumb wish to sneak in and go on a chancy trip. Rather than endeavoring a risky journey, however, he stopped by an abandoned second-hand shop for an activity he'd deemed to be unarguably the best part of the recon. He looked around to ensure not even a single pedestrian was passing by, smiled faintly, and took a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket. He had almost lit one of them when the walkie-talkie attached to his belt received a worrying report. A confrontation was taking place between the bands from the East and the West.

"Christ," mumbled unsuspecting Brandy as he put the pack back in his pocket.
"Copy that. Eastern will arrive at the spot in a few minutes," he responded to the scout and rushed to the spot.

At least half an hour had passed by the time Brandy found a proper spot to provide the requested support from a distance. He sat on the roof of one of the buildings close enough to the sight for a clear shot but far enough to feel safe from the potential gunfight on the street below. He took the sniper rifle he snatched from the military checkpoint years ago -- the Silencer -- and mounted a bipod and quite a shabby scope he hoped to replace on it. As soon as the setup was ready, he laid down and zoomed in on the Westerners.
"Eastern. Ready to fire. Let me know when" he reported.

Avalon Dalton

Avalon's pacing continued until she was watching Kyle sail onto the wall and disappear from her sight. There was a Easterner, Jade, that climbed up too and not long after Teddy followed. Avalon stared up at the top of the wall for a moment before groaning and stalking up to the tree Bexley had used.

"Fuck it." Avalon scaled the tree and stared at the daunting task in front of her before taking a deep breath,"Here goes nothing." With a swinging leap Salon's hands were gripping the edge if the wall. She pulled herself up and over with ease and was promptly on the top of the wall, staring down at the fog of the other side.

"Dear fucking god. Is she down there?" Avalon asked the Westerners standing with her, all previous anger with them gone in the face of potential disaster. "This is fucking high." Avalon sucked in a breath to calm herself,

"Where's Kyle? Did he-" Avalon groaned,"OH FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY YOU IDIOTS!"
