Scarlet eyes carefully scanned the area for intruders. The Prime Minister and his guest would be arriving shortly, and he had absolutely no plans on allowing them to be harmed. His skinless right arm, carefully wrapped in bandages to appear as normal as possible, rested neatly but cautiously at his side as he walked around, making sure no traps or other dangerous items were around to be set off. Noritaka was given very precise directions-- to look around the Prime Minister's office, and then return to his Captain. The quiet tapping of his boots was all that could be heard, as most of the bodyguards were either outside, or idly standing around at specific areas in the building. A nearby window gave him a chance to glance outside. It was an absurd amount of hired muscle. Just about the entire perimeter was made up of bodyguards--both powered and unpowered-- and there were even more that were going to be there once the men of the hour arrived. His eyebrows softened for a brief moment. He was worried. Worried about the sheer amount of people, and how he'd handle them if someone in the large crowd turned out to have bad intentions.

Realizing that he'd taken too long of a break, Noritaka blinked, before heading back to his overseer. Would such a small amount of Specialists be good enough to protect two world leaders if things did go south? Before going back, he shook off his feelings. He trusted Shugo.

Stepping into the room his Captain waited in, he offered him a quick salute. Something that was probably unnecessary by now, but something he still felt like he had to do. "Clear. I couldn't find anything out of the ordinary."

While he didn't love the new look-- hesitant to show his normal appearance of a tracksuit and an unkempt head of pale hair-- he didn't exactly hate it, either. Yukio's arms flew above his head, and he grabbed one of his wrists as he stretched, groaning obnoxiously as he did so. "Whew, it is hot today!" he spoke mid-stretch, straightening out his velvet-red blazer only after he was finished. While he had managed to make his appearance more... average, one thing he wasn't able to alter was his bloodthirsty gaze. He looked around the building, a small smile growing on his face before turning to the others. "I'm really excited, y'know." he interrupted himself with a sniffle. "I didn't even take anything yet today, because I'm so excited." it'd been a while since he'd had some real fun, and the news of yesterday's murder had only riled him up more. He had originally wanted to check things out there, hoping to run into some cops and do some more damage-- but word that the Captain of the Union's Military was in charge of security at this special world-leader tea party had his blood pumping the minute he heard about it.

"Kay, can't wait much longer. Gonna shut my mouth now before I get loud. Following your lead, boss man! Heh."

HOURS EARLIER - Early Morning

"Final prep phase is in effect. All personnel assigned to today's operation should begin reporting to the docks for boarding"

The voice spoke throughout the halls of the underground laboratory as personnel from the Support Division were all running about through the halls. Some were moving large crates of supplies to the cargo elevator, others high stacks of papers tucked away in folders. Some personnel were dressed in their regular lab coats and casual wear while others were dressed wearing more outdoor-type clothing. Because not everyone in the Support Division was physically capable, either due to age or other factors, only certain personnel ever went out on the field while the others stayed behind.

Of course, Yuki was already ahead of the game. Already on board the aircraft carrier, she was coordinating where everything was going to go. Below deck, she was having some Angels setting up a makeshift medical area. Yuki was fully expecting there to be some wounded, if they did find anyone still out at the islands.

1615995449532.png Above her in the air, a few helicopters were landing onto the carrier. Since the beast was native to the water, the plan was to use the helicopters as the rescue vehicles. Though, if any of the survivors were in hard-to-reach areas, there were small boats below deck, ready for use as well. Because the beast they were hunting was so large in theory, it wouldn't be possible to bring the carrier itself into the area. At most, it would station a good distance away from the islands and from there, the helicopters would be used. Alongside the carrier, the Pest Control Division were bringing some of their own boats which were more equipped to hunt and kill beasts.

It didnt take too long for a majority of the gear to get loaded onto the carrier. Satisfied that everything was set, Yuki retreated to the bridge of the carrier to make sure that the ship itself was ready to go, as well as wait for the Pest Control Division to board the carrier. It wasn't officially ordered, but Yuki took personal responsibility to ensure that logistically, everything was green. She would let BED deal with the beast itself. Though Yuki hadn't told Yun-Seo about the special gear that the Support Division created just for this operation.

Maybe later...

The wait wasn't long and soon, everyone from the Pest Control Division who was assigned to the operation was on board. Once Yuki received the all-clear, she gave the order to get underway. The anchor lines were untied and retracted and the engine started. Within minutes, the carrier left the dock and headed out for its destination, the Nami-Shibuki Islands.

[...]

CURRENT TIME

Yuki stared out the window from the bridge of the carrier, watching the water roll past the ship on both sides. Even though the ship moved pretty quickly for its size, the islands themselves were a ways away.

She was dressed in a plain white t-shirt, loose grey hoodie and black denim pants. On her back, her sword rested in its sheath, the strap running across her chest. Tucked away under her shirt was her pendant as well. Yuki wasn't a big fan of showing it off. Though in the few times people did notice it, no one really asked any questions since it didnt look like a traditional Hellspawn. To any onlookers, it was just a regular necklace.

Yuki glanced down at her wrist watch. According to the schedule, they were supposed to arrive at the islands within the next 30 minutes. She began walking to the exit door, looking back and called out to a young man who stationed in the bridge of the carrier. At the same time, she pointed to an earpiece in her right ear.

"I'm stepping out for a bit. Call me if anything comes up. Yakumo, you have the bridge."
"Understood, Captain."

Closing the door behind her, Yuki walked down the hall to where the stairs were, going down. It was a bit of a walk but eventually she made it below deck where a majority of the staff were located. As Yuki walked through the halls, people greeted her. Eventually, she arrived at the cargo area where Mitsuyuki was. Not too long ago, Yuki had asked him to do a final check and make sure they had all the equipment they needed and that it was working properly.

"Hey, everything looking good so far?"

She spoke in a friendly tone, doing her best to keep the mood relaxed and friendly. In the past, the two havent exactly seen eye to eye, but that didnt stop Yuki from at least trying to make friends with him. After all, she was his overseer.

As Yuki listened, she thought about where Akira was. Earlier, Yuki had her watch over the setup of the medical area on the ship. Though she hadn't had the chance to personally check in with her. Maybe now was a good time to get all the leadership together and finalize the details of the operation.

Once Mitsuyuki was finished with his report, she gave him a smile and thanked him. Reaching for her phone, she sent out messages to the captain and deputies of the pest control division, as well as Akira.

"If you're all not busy, I'm down in the cargo area of the ship with Mitsuyuki. We should finalize any details of this operation, plus I have something special to show you Yun."

Waiting. A job that had sounded easy enough in its respite from the gassing sun, painting the streets below in a different kind of lethargy manifesting in glossy skin and dragging feet, but that was, in reality, all but that. Because despite the refreshing breeze that tickles the back of bare feet, hanging off the edge of the hotel room's bed, and the shade and comfort provided in sheets and ceiling, she is plagued by another pain. That of being perched in a prone position to fire for hours on end, neck muscles fit to spasm from the weight of the rifle and propped elbows melding with the surface below in a static numbness.

Blinking into the rifle scope, she counts: an elderly man, a family of three, a lone woman, a child, all oblivious of the eye which observes them from above as they hurry to and fro under her mercy. In the meanwhile, she releases the trigger to brush aside all the empty snack wrappers in search of the one unopened.

"Oh..." The realisation hits her in continuous plastic crunches and before long the petite hand has instead hauled the big walkie-talkie to her lips. "Hey Noritaka...can you get me some more snacks...? I've run out..." a few seconds of drone silence passes before she monotony add "-Oh and it's clear."

AGENT: Mitsuyuki Sakakibara
AGE: 18
LOCATION: Cargo area on the carier.

INTERACTING: Kuramoto Yuki ( FabulousTrash FabulousTrash )

Monday came in heat, unbearable and vapid as it enters and leaves the lungs in shallow breaths. It lingers over him like an unwelcome embrace, tracing his muscles and bones in translucent touches of labour and sticks to his skin in sheer fabric. The moist sensation sends shivers down Mitsuyuki's spine, arms desperately clutching onto each other away from the harsh rays along with tensed shoulders. The action does little to alleviate his discomfort, however, and although it doesn't show on his face when he receives the task to check the cargo, he breathes an inwards sigh of relief once underground.

The cargo area of the ship was a steel cocoon unraveling in towering beams and large open spaces. Striding across the gently swaying floor, the youth becomes convinced that it's probably littered with dust and a gloved hand immediately shoots up to cover his mouth before mentally checking off the list. In the past, he would have never had to such arbitrary work; palm shaped after his sword rather than the reverse. As reality would have it, however, the tides had changed. Ironically so as his current location was literally out at sea.

The albino stares off into blank space for a while, something like a frown growing visible under the shadows when the droning silence is suddenly interrupted.

"Hey, everything looking good so far?"

The white-clad deputy doesn't as much as turn his head, instead stiffly glancing sideways at his supposed superior before closing his eyes. "Yes." His downturned lips tug discreetly at the curt answer, signifying no desire to converse any further as he fills in the paperwork with ink and turns it in without a word. Although as awkward as it looked and was, this exchange summed up most of Mitsuyuki's relationships; all deliberate actions and looks that appeared more judgmental than spontaneous. Still, he never outwardly expressed his discontent, the question hanging in the air like a riddle as it had been him who requested the transfer from Spec. Ops to the Support division.

Shugo was seated at one end of a long conference table, empty save for his laptop, a few neatly ordered documents — reports, schedules, dossiers of a handful of persons of interest, among other things — and a white ceramic mug of half drunk black coffee. The light from the computer screen illuminated the young man’s face, glinting off the lens of his glasses as he looked up at the opening door. They slid down the bridge of his nose as he offered Noritaka a cordial half-smile.

"Very good.” He said, his eyes flitting back to the screen. The VIPs were slated to arrive soon. Their motorcade were one-and-one-half blocks from the third right before they’d come into Bean’s line of sight. Bean was their eye in the sky. She was not the only sniper in position around the perimeter of the PM’s residence — many tall buildings with many floor-to-ceiling windows made for a marksman’s ideal habitat — but she was the one he trusted the most.

"Bean.” Shugo spoke up, commandeering Noritaka’s channel with his own earpiece. "Check the false bottom in your pack. There should be a small ration of snacks there.” He paused, considering it for a moment, then added. "If you’ve burned through that then you’ll just have to do without for now. Noritaka is needed here. Besides, if you eat too much you’ll get lethargic. I need you sharp. Understood?

He turned back to his screen for the last time. The floor plan of the PM’s residence occupied three-quarters of the visual field. Shugo reviewed their security, as he had done many times already. They were nothing if not prepared. Layers upon layers of interwoven contingencies, plans within plans. The sheer scope of it was dizzying. But not to him. To him it was a mosaic, and now all of the pieces had begun to fall into place, and Shugo felt like the spider sat upon his web, awaiting the unwitting fly.

And Shugo was hungry.

Emelli "Chimera" Fortoux
Special Ops-Mission: Guard the Pope and Prime Minister
Elenion Aura Elenion Aura Nobody Special Nobody Special Sei Shonagon Sei Shonagon

The day was already growing dreadfully bored for Emelli. She had been posted out not far from where the Prime Minister and Pope would be residing. The building was quite luxurious, worlds beyond what she had known growing up. She wondered if their children knew this level of luxury, this level of pompous, this level of old money. She huffed, already knowing the answer to her own questions. Of course they did, they all did and they stood upon their pillars of greed and control to gawk down at the starving masses, at the repressed individuals and the sick world of man.

Letting out a sigh her mood was already beginning to tank and her charges hadn’t even arrived yet. Oh how she loathed these men above all else and especially today, the day they discussed more repression and laws meant to subdue those afflicted and unable to choose the way they are. She raised a hand, her pointer finger shifting into a sharp glowing talon. Turning over where she lay sprawled over in a rather comfy seat she scratched at the wallpaper to its side.

She should have been paying attention but couped up in the corridor she was in there was only one way for people to come and that was past her. Continuing to scrape at the wall paper she ended up stripping it before growing bored and turning over again. Letting out another sigh she rummaged around in her shirt jacket before pulling out a candy bar. She was already getting herself stressed out and her stomach was screaming.

Slamming the candy bar down her throat she let out a moan of pleasure before rummaging around again and taking out another. She was probably breaking some kind of code about non-standard issue rations but she didn’t give a shit. Opening it up she began to eat it slowly this time, actually savoring the taste rather than gobbling it up. Finally she reached for her communication device and clicked it on “Chimera is in position.” She said with food still in her mouth. Now situated she stretched out and let her arms drape down the sides of the chair. She didn’t want to be doing this, and so she just existed doing exactly as she was told.

Isaac was in a good mood. It was almost time for some fun exercise and he'd get to do something that'd be all over the news. As if there weren't better things to report. So what if the Pope died, you could find plenty of people who claimed God spoke to them in any mental institution and they'd do the job a lot cheaper. Hmm, what was the topic again? Oh right, knocking off the Pope and Prime Minister. Easy job, just get in there and kill everyone who wasn't an Ibara member. Isaac had a hard enough time remembering faces without needing to add ones he'd not be seeing alive again. So yeah, life was good.

Isaac couldn't help but stand out in this crowd, but he'd figured out a simple disguise. a wide-brimmed hat served to block the view of his face from above and a pair of sunglasses and some obvious lotion made him appear to have just been badly sunburned and thus trying to protect his skin from further damage. It wouldn't hold up under scrutiny, but it'd get him in and that's what mattered.

Nobody Special Nobody Special
Hmm? His partner and good friend (even if he was a bit stabby) Yukio was talking about how excited he was. That's good, Yukio didn't have nearly enough interests to keep him off drugs so maybe they could do assassinations more often.

"Yeah, it's hot. Even as fun as this is going to be it'll be nice to be back in air conditioning. Want something cold in the meantime?"

Isaac disliked heat (he got overheated far too easily), so he was currently holding up a portable fan to keep himself cool. But right now he needed a bit more than that so after repositioning the fan he reached into his backpack and pulled out two bottles of pink lemonade. Offering one to Yukio (the sugar would probably be helpful right now) he opened the other and began gulping it down. Finishing it quickly he pulled out a third bottle (Isaac was never without snacks), although this time he sipped it more leisurely as he turned the fan back on himself. Anyone other than Yukio who wanted Isaac's snacks would have to make a damn good case for why they were deserving.

Hmm? Isaac had gone off on a tangent again. What was happening? Oh right, assassinating the Prime Minister and Pope. Why was the Pope in Japan again? Meh, it wouldn't matter once he was dead, so no worries. Life was better when it's simple.

Now how much longer until it was time? Waiting was so boring and the thought of getting caught and not getting to start was a source of stress.

    ~ Docked, Hours Earlier ~
City of Commerce || Yun-Seo's CS File

The attacking ships were quickly prepared by Brigadier Inaba Takako. With the speed in which they were gathered Yun expected to see some form of consideration having to be put in. Yet to his eyes there seemed to be nothing of note. Then again he was no ship operator. Instead he put on some of the best Naval Hunters on the job of preparations.

The ships would be traveling light. Nami-Shibuki was close enough that they wouldn’t need to waste space with more than basic foodstock even with their extensive medical bays, besides the ship was being prepared to be abandoned if needed. With so many reports of ships never arriving they had to assume the worst. Whatever it was could take down ships of considerable size, if it came down to the ship or the personnel well they all knew when it was time to make a tactical retreat.

There came the problem though. The ships needed crew, but they absolutely could not hold civilians. The Hunters didn’t need any distractions weighing them down. With that in mind, these models had advanced auto coursing. They wouldn’t need more than one person doing course corrections on it until they got to actual battle formation.

He divided the groups up into proper crews and helped to load up the proper weaponry in each. If they were to succeed they would have to play it safe. Sea battles were often more dangerous than on land. Few could rely on their direct skill, often the boat itself was a powerful player in the game.

“Group one, listen up. You’ll be piloting the Yubari under the command of Brigadier Inaba. Your job is to keep the heat off of our second force. The Yubari is well crafted, it should hold up to even the strongest of abuse. Don’t be afraid to get up close and personal with the beast. Brigadier Inaba already has the formation notes so I expect you all to regroup quickly. Myself and your deputies will be riding Yubari in but do not assume us to be part of your crew. We will be pulling forwards far more than you should. If you can avoid it, do not leave the vessel. Understood?”

A chorus of affirmatives rang out in various levels of formalities. He could pick out the individual voices before he moved on to the next group. This one was a bit more filled out even as they would be further from the action.

“Group two, You’ll be piloting the Ono under the joint command of Colonel Nishikawa and Lieutenant Colonel Serizawa. You’ll be the supporting attack force. While Yubari is taking the heavy hits I need you all focused on speed. The Ono isn’t as tanky as it’s sister ship but you’re well equipped with long range weaponry. To those of you not focused on direct piloting of the Ono under no circumstances are you to leave the vessel bar the ship threatening to sink. As the greener of the two crews your job is to survive and be able to take advantage of the openings the Yubari will make. Use your guns, use your powers, but do not make yourself a casualty.”

A louder and less focused chorus of yes went up as the tone was clearly more relaxed than they had any right to be. He let out a sigh at the sound. To be young and green again. Well at least Sano and Yoshida would help to run discipline with the two. Aside from the greenhorns on the Ono the only ones to watch out for in terms of impulse control would be his young lieutenants on the Yubari. He’d shaft them to the Ono if not for the chaos they’d cause. They’d proven their strength already, or he’d have left them behind but he was still waiting on the day that they proved their intellect.

    “Alright then. MOVE OUT.”

With that the crews started to scramble to their positions. The support group was already looking set up as well with their fortress carrier. They’d had a planned dismount for speaking strategy scheduled a few hours into the course. His young coworker would be leading a search and rescue mission concurrently with the attack force. While a part of his mind told him that they were just blowing air, after all what would be left to rescue from such a beast, he wouldn’t stand for not trying either. Either was so long as the helicopters didn’t get in the way of the plans the missions shouldn’t interfere with each other.

He tilted his head in a motion of heading out to Sang-hun and his newer and hopefully not temporary partner. Unhold was it? He’d hardly got the chance to speak with the man yet. Even so, he continued on to board the vessel not quite sure how to start a conversation with him instead leaving it for later on.

    ----

~ Aboard The Cruiser, Current ~

As he heard the speakers go off he knew the time was soon approaching. They’d boarded the vessel not long ago but Yun wouldn’t know the layout to save his life. His ships were so much more cohesive. He’d been sitting on the deck for the most part in his short wait just crunching some battle plans in his head. There were two unknowns to calculate for now, Unhold and the Angels, and the mission would have to take that into account. With a quick push off the deck he stood stretching out. Akemi was strapped to his hip like usual and he felt comforted by the weight even as it reminded him of why Sang was his only permanent partner recently.

“Well it seems we’re off to talk strategy at the cargo hold huh? Guess there was no better place for it.”

She popped a squat as she held her balance on the railing of a roof. She didn’t see shit wrong with the parking lot. Obviously. So then the answer was the surrounding buildings or the subway below. But then where to start? She kicked herself back landing on the roof behind the railing.

An Overseer dead and an escort missing, and someone had the fucking gall to call it an Ibara attack.

If they were the ones behind it then there would be nothing left behind for the fuckers to find. Her disappointment in this country’s government just kept growing. She snapped a few photos of the scene below before sending them to Yuudai as well as a selfie of herself she’d taken to show her position on the skyscrapers above.

“Area reached. Law enforcement is buffoons as usual.”

She threw back down the hood of her little cutesy cloak. It wasn’t like she was trying to be too stealthy. Her skills for mobility far outweighed her skill for invisibility. Asking her to blend in a crowd was as stupid as asking a shark to fly. The eyes of others were drawn to her, as they should be.

No, she’d be doing groundwork today. ‘Sides with so many eyes on the Prime Minister’s conference she should be able to have some breathing room. At least enough to find out if this was really a case of what Yuudai was thinking. With a quick jog back she got herself a running start as she hurled herself from the roof of one building onto the railing and kicked off to the next. Luckily unlike the building with the view the mall had many entrances as she slipped through the rooftop exit to enter the midtown.

Kenyang Hado | 79 | Ibara Leader's Escort | Molecular Manipulation| Ability/Melee| Partner(s): Yuudai and Kairi

Kenyang's chauffeur brought his limo to a halt at the steps of the Prime Minister's residence and rushed to open the door for him.

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. He counted seven guards just at the entrance. The Union seemed to be pulling out all the stops today. Ken couldn't help but find the irony of their position amusing. They were willing to try their absolute hardest to protect individuals who would burn them at the stake if given the incentive and opportunity. Cowards the lot of them.

Ken used his walking stick to carry him, taking a step at a time. He knew he had to play up his old age even if he felt strong enough to murder 50 men 20 years younger than him. The absolute certainty he wouldn't have to pretend to be feeble for much longer strengthened his resolve.

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Eleven.

He had heard that the Spec Ops division would be regulated to security duty here but he didn't expect these numbers. To pull this off they'd need to be absolutely perfect.

"Say young man, do you believe you're well equipped to handle any unwelcome visitors should the need arise. Don't want any Ibara members to finish the job." Kenyang said to one of the spec-ops members he passed on his way to Sakomoto-san's office.

The specialist looked completely disinterested in him before he registered Ken and his assistant and realization dawned on him. Watching his face go from awe to loathing to indifference brought Ken joy. Maybe Union Grunts aren't all guard dogs after all.

"Sir, security is airtight. No one can get in or out without our knowledge and consent. My commanding officers are even on location to ensure nothing goes array. " the specialist said so gritted teeth.

"Ahohoho! Yes I know you know me and while I assure you I take no pleasure in the position I'm constantly being put in I do so to insure the continued safety of Variants everywhere. At least in my own way."

Interesting. Ken knew the Captain would be here but even his deputies? Slowly but surely this idea seemed to sound less and less likely to go off without a hitch. But maybe that's exactly what they needed but still needed to be entirely sure of every variable.

"Say. I'd like a word with your superior before the conference starts, where can I find them?"

Ulysses thought he was ready. Thought that he wasn't going to end up stuck back at that day. Maybe it was the circumstance that did it but being here made him sick to his stomach. Staring at the dried puddle of blood he thought of Himari. While Ulysses didn't know her that well he remembered how nice her and her partner were when he came to the Support Division for help with his headaches. They didn't deserve this but whomever did this would feel the full brunt of his rage. That Ulysses guaranteed.

Walking over to a couple of officers Ulysses put his mask in place to stifle his rage. There would be a time for that later. "Find anything interesting?" Ulysses asked the closest officer. A man in his mid twenties that seemed to recognize him. "I mean besides me.". Ulysses smirked slightly."So the rumors were true. You're back in law enforcement for good?" The man, Officer Seon stated in disbelief.

"I'm here as long as Angel Ito is missing and the people who took her aren't in custody." Ulysses answered no hint of his previous light. "The only question is how could anybody get the jump on two skilled Union agents without them putting up that much of a fight or anyone seeing anything. Something isn't adding up." He remarked.

Awa Bāsuto
「Interactions: Every Spec Ops member.」
As Awa's eyes scanned the sector she was at, she looked around. Nothing. She was slightly surprised, by this, but kept a carefully neutral expression on her face. Nothing was out of the ordinary. Why would it be? The location Awa was checking likely would have any hostiles, this was as far from the meeting place they could get.

She knew she chose to be the one who would check this area, but sometimes, it made her wonder why she skipped on the offer to become deputy, even though she knew why.

She had finished checking the area, walking with a confidence in her step. Nothing was here, but she didn't expect to see anything. Finally giving out a little sigh, she stayed in her area. It was unlikely anyone would be passing by here. Anyone who would want to kill the Prime Minister and the Pope, without blending in, would likely pass through here. he doubted that they would do that however, blending in was a much better strategy.

Finally tapped her earpiece, she told her Overseer

"In position. All clear."

She said all that coldly, with no emotions. The Union, since it couldn't appoint her, instead gave the position to others. She didn't care much for this, but she knew she was a clear threat to the deputies, and the Overseer. Perhaps not a clear threat, but a silent judgment, watching.

And Awa would hold that over them for as long as she could, because real power doesn't come from titles. It comes from influence. And currently?

Awa had the larger part of that influence.

Akira Kuno ~ Support Deputy ~ Partners: Yuki and Mitsuyuki ~ Power: Telepathy (Thought Reading) ~ Interacting with: Yuki ( FabulousTrash FabulousTrash ) and Mitsuyuki ( Sei Shonagon Sei Shonagon )

Setting up a makeshift medical area was... a little tricky, but they got the job done. Currently, most of the living quarters were going to act as a resting and light treatment area. It was a bit cramped, with the bunk beds inside being close together, but it should serve its purpose well. If one were to look inside, they would see first aid kits methodically placed around the bunks.

For those with grievous wounds, they would go to the "emergency room." The emergency room was really just a large dining room, with the chairs moved out, the tables rearranged, and sturdy cots placed next to the tables. Various medicines and medical supplies lined the tables, ready for use, in addition to some IV stands set by the cots.

They even made sure to fill the first aid containers in the helicopters and outfitted each of them with a defibrillator. Everything was ready, so Akira finally had time to hide in a janitor's closet.

She swiftly shut the door behind her, sighing in relief at the quiet respite that the metal walls provided. There were just too many people on this vessel. Even with her mask on to help muffle the noise, whispering voices and faint images still bombarded her mind. In this room, though, the thoughts of others' noisy brains couldn't reach her. Now, if only this room didn't reek with the stench of not-so-sweet cleaning chemicals. Oh well.

Akira had been resting against a wall for a solid ten minutes or so when she felt a vibration in her pocket. She pulled out her phone, which glowed with a text message from Yuki. The cargo area, hmm? Seems like break time was over then. Her fingers repeatedly tapped her phone screen to send a reply.

Akira: On my way.

She pocketed her phone, hesitantly opening the door to return to the cruel chaos. The cargo bay wasn't too far away, thankfully. A few turning hallways later, she was there, going inside.

"Hey! How are you two?" Akira greeted Yuki and Mitsuyuki with a wave as she walked over to them. "Has everything been going smoothly?"

He lowered his salute, straightening out his uniform and putting his hands neatly at his side. He'd remain on standby until the time came to guard their 'clients'. At least, that was the plan, until his walkie-talkie began to vibrate with every word Bean said. "Huh? More??" He let out an annoyed sigh, allowing their Overseer to respond to her before picking up his radio to put in his two cents. "How did you finish everything already, anyway? If you eat the extra ones as fast, I'm not giving you mine." his tone was assertive as he spoke, and, with an ever-so-slightly irritated frown, he switched his walkie back off and put it back. His demeanor relaxed shortly after, and he pushed his hands into his pockets as he patiently awaited the arrival of the Prime Minister and Pope.

"Captain," he uttered, taking a wrapped hand out of his pocket to blankly stare at it. "I know we've prepared for everything, but..." his eyes locked onto Shugo as he turned to face him directly, his expression void of fear. "Do you think anyone will really try anything? It'll just end up making things worse..." he knew the reason why the meeting was taking place, and for a while he had wondered what the point of protecting the people who wanted them gone was. Whether or not he wanted to do this didn't matter at all. It was his duty to protect and serve, and that was exactly what he planned on doing, no matter what. "I--"

He was interrupted by the sound of his walkie going off again. This time, instead of his immature partner, it was Emelli Fortoux, who preferred being called 'Chimera' at the moment, and Awa Bāsuto, two semi-familiar escorts in the division. He wasn't normally the type to bother getting to know other Specialists unless they were especially important to him, Shugo, or Bean, but he did manage to keep an eye on a few of them-- although he'd never tell anyone this. He reached down to grab his walkie once again, raising it to his face before switching it on to speak for Shugo. "Acknowledged. Our clients will be arriving soon, so be on alert." his eyebrow twitched at the sound of Emelli's voice when she confirmed her position, and before turning his microphone off, he strictly spoke one last time. "Stop eating your rations so early. We don't know how long we're going to be here, got it?"

He hated all this noise. The first and only thought he could muster amongst the overwhelming cacophony, the sounds of military preparation. He held the case that contained his spear close to his hip as he glided through droves of Hunters and Angels on their way to their stations, ignoring the plentiful gawking. The drone of strategic jabber fell deaf on his ears; he knew there was little that could be done to kill this particular beast that required finesse or quick thinking. In the face of such devastating power, equal retaliation at the hands of another terrible beast is all but guaranteed, whether it be of collaborated firepower, or brutality by his own hands. He had a hunch it may come to him getting his hands dirty, but only if the superiors allowed it, of course. He had quickly found himself aboard the fortress carrier, his nerves acting up a bit. What had he the need to be nervous about? He had the lingering feeling something may go awry, despite his never-wavering confidence in the strength of the Union. He had begun to enjoy the breeze the sea swept upon the skin on his face, breathing in through the porous surface. He breathed a sigh of relief. He could enjoy this.
His destination was the cargo hold, where his newly appointed superiors had scheduled to meet with him. He knew little of his new colleagues, only their names, of which he could barely remember; he had never seen their faces or heard their voices, to his knowledge anyway.

What a mess. Two young girls, one dead, one missing, in broad daylight. Not to mention they were both Union. Lucienne loomed over the crime scene, lighting a cigarette as she glanced from one piece of evidence to another with her only eye, quickly becoming lost in thought. She needed something— a footprint, a bullet casing, anything. She couldn’t bring herself to hate Ibara any more for this, if this sloppy excuse for an assassination of some kind was their’s. This would just another Monday for them; she would waste no mind wishing them ill for something they had done before and would do again. No doubt they had eyes and ears all over this investigation already, their scouts hanging around the surrounding area like moths to a flame. She took a long drag, gazing up at the mall. Forensics was never her strong suit.
Her gaze wandered to Douglas, Ulysses, who made a rather astute observation, taking a long drag off her cigarette before slowly approaching him and the handful of nearby officers,

It could be the work of an ability. I find it hard to believe there were no witnesses; the only way I could see the crime happening in this location at the time of occurrence with zero witnesses is a kind of temporal or spatial ability, or at least, that’s the easy answer. Your thoughts?”

Yukio Andrusiv
22 | Overseer | Ibara Member | Enhanced Speed | Partner: Isaac Stineman
Location: Sōri Daijin Kantei
Interacting: Isaac ( Gravitational Force Gravitational Force )

________________________________________________________________________________
His parched eyes locked onto the pink lemonade Isaac offered him, and he gently took it from him with a thankful grin. "I knew partnering up with you wasn't a mistake, my shadowy-confidant." He said, reaching up to pat his taller escort on his shoulder. Once he was finished expressing his gratitude, he twisted the cap off of the bottle and began to raise it to his lips. His hand stopped, however, once he noticed Isaac was completely devouring his own beverage at violent speeds.

"Jesus, Isaac!" Yukio exclaimed, staring at the now empty bottle his partner held in awe. Perhaps that was one of the very few foils that kept the two from being what he considered a 'perfect' team. Yukio wasn't one to eat and drink a lot throughout the day-- probably a result of his constant usage-- and Isaac was always vacuuming in food whenever he got a chance, which he hated the sight of. "I thought I would be the first one to arouse suspicion, but you look like a damned starving, brutish tourist. Especially with that fan!" he let out a hearty, mocking laugh that would definitely be masked behind the growing crowd of spectators. After ending his assault on his partner, who was probably just going to shrug it off, he began drinking, only to widen his eyes at the sight of the black-haired man pulling out another drink, calmly tasting it every few seconds this time.

Yukio wasn't able to come for Isaac again, however, due to the sudden raise of clamors in the crowd that was a clear signal that their targets had arrived. His head perked to the left, only to see an approaching motorcade. There were at least 12 cars approaching the Kantei, and Yukio wasn't able to tell which car held their men. Suddenly, a group of men entered the building as the cars began to pull up, and after multiple armed guards exited the vehicles, the fancy suit, coupled with the pure white robes, was enough to confirm who was who. A malicious smirk grew on Yukio's face, and his eyes narrowed, following the world leaders as they entered the building. Bingo.

Yukio's eyes flicked over to a smaller group of people he'd been keeping his eye on. The group was made up of Ibara members who'd been ordered to start a fight with each other, drawing the attention of both security and the crowd so that he, and the rest of the people who'd be doing the deed, could successfully sneak in. His gaze locked with that of one of the goons, and after he winked at him, a loud clamoring could be heard seconds after. Heads immediately began to turn, and the line of security had finally broken. Once Yukio saw the chance to sneak in, he dropped his lemonade and grabbed Isaac's wrist, pulling him towards the entrance. "Sorry! We're a little late."
----
In reality, Prime Minister Sakamoto and Pope Bernard were already inside. A Specialist Escort named Mahoro has made excellent use of her illusion ability to completely alter the appearance of the two, and they entered the Prime Minister's office building shortly after the motorcade began to arrive-- disguised as average, regular officials. The two individuals leaving the motorcade were bodyguards who were also disguised using Mahoro's ability-- made to appear as though they were the Pope and PM. As they make their way into the building, the fake pair will make their way to a decoy meeting room, while the real pair will go to the actual waiting room. The illusion will wear off once the PM and Pope greet Shugo and he confirms their arrival, guaranteeing their safety as long as he is guarding the meeting room.

Yuki took hold of the papers that Mitsuyuki wrote on, glancing down and read through them. She didn't pay much mind, but it was clear that Mitsuyuki was still closed off to her. Yuki didn't take it personally, but in the back of her head she wished that one day he'd open to to her and others. Besides making it easier to work with, Yuki was genuinely interested in getting to know him better.

Her train of thought got cut short as Akira arrived. With her usual smile and wave, she greeted the other two. Yuki gave her a smile in returning, nodding in acknowledgement. There was a certain charm to her, always seeming to be able to brighten up the mood of others. Yuki was very grateful for that.

"Doing fine, yeah. Thanks for setting up the medical area."

Yuki glanced at her watch once more before looking up.

"We're just waiting for the others from pest control, then we'll get this underway."

[...]

It didn't take long for the captain and deputies of the pest control division to arrive. As soon they all entered the cargo hold, Yuki waved them over to a medium sized black container, low enough to serve as a table. Once everyone had gathered around, Yuki pulled out a small device out from her pocket, placing it in the middle of the group and pressed the top of it. The device glowed to life and projected a holographic map of the area. On one side were the islands and on the other, the carrier and attack ships. Yuki glanced over to Yun for a brief moment before shifting her gaze back to the hologram, addressing the group.

"Alright, the general plan is this. Two things will be simultaneously be happening. One, pest control will be engaging the beast. Two, support will be looking for any survivors. The carrier is going to station far away from the area of operation here and use helicopters to get closer to the islands. I told the pilots to fly high and wide, taking the long way around to the islands."

Yuki moved her finger into the hologram, drawing a red line from the rear of the carrier. It went off to the side and around the long way until reaching the back of the islands.

"We'll take the same path returning to the carrier."

She reached her hand forward, manipulating the hologram and pushed the carrier model away, leaving just the two attack boats. Above each one appeared a label, naming the models respectively.

"The way pest control will be handling the beast is one ship with heavier armor will draw its attention and keep it occupied, while the lighter more offensive ship will hit it from different angles."

The two boats were highlighted in different colors, the blue one being the heavier armored one and the green one being the faster one. Yuki looked over to Yun to see if he had anything else to mention about their plan before pressing the top of the device again, shutting it off. She then looked over to her two deputies.

"Akira, Mitsuyuki, we'll be riding one of the helicopters when they set off, so make sure you have everything you need. If you dont have any questions, you're free to go and I'll meet you up on the deck where the helicopters are waiting."

Her gaze then shifted over to Yun as she picked up the hologram device, pocketing it.

"As for you, I have the gear you requested for this op."

Yuki reached behind the container, the side that was out of Yun's view and pulled up a small black lockbox. She flipped open the latches and lifted the lid, turning it so Yun and the others could see what was inside.

1616623012822.png "First up, rebreathers. Pocket sized and compact so you dont have to deal with clunky and heavy scuba gear. Just put into your mouth and breath normally. Though, obviously, it doesn't work through the nose"

In total, there were 10 in the case. She slid it to the side, leaving it open in case Yun wanted to personally look them over. Yuki went over to the far side of the cargo area, returning with a much larger and longer case and placed it on top of the crate, opening it up. Inside was some sort of advanced grenade launcher, as well as a set of rounds for launcher and handheld grenades. Yuki pulled out one of the launcher rounds and a handheld grenade, handing them to Yun for him to look at.

1616627030649.png1616626413224.png1616626426076.png
"Cryo grenades for flash freezing, in both handheld and 40 millimeter varients. The 40s explode on impact and the launcher has a more powerful propelling mechanism so its more accurate at further ranges, with less recoil overall. The handheld ones are just your typical 'pull-the-pin and throw' ordinances."

Yuki waited for Yun to place the two items back into the large case before closing the lids on both them, flipping the latches shut.

"You can take these with you. I'll have someone help load the rest of it onto your two ships. In total you'll have 4 launchers. rebreathers for everyone, and plenty of ordinance to go around."

She gave him a small smile, but it was clear that Yuki was proud of the work. When her division was still working on the development of the gear, Yuki took it on herself to personally make sure everything was working correctly, even working on the project herself at times. While she trusted the people who worked under her, she also knew how specific Yun could be since every beast required different gear.

AGENT: Bean
AGE: 26
LOCATION: Sōri Daijin Kantei

INTERACTING: Noritaka ( Nobody Special Nobody Special ) Shugo Elenion Aura Elenion Aura

The curt responses that crackle through the device earn a childish whining 'eeeh' in response then a 'tsk' as she clicks with her tongue; the pout almost perceivable through the voice channel once she finally speaks. "Noritaka, you cheapskate...tsk tsk no respect for your big sister- I'll just have you two buy me all the more snacks later then." Silence ensues once again under the promise of pursed lips, something foreign glimpsing by in unfocused eyes as she gazes out over the array of ruddy rooftops.

"Big sister..." How long had it been since she was roped into the agency? Five? Ten years? It was as if the days had slipped out of her memory along with any signs of aging, her body still as 'scrawny' as back then. Beneath the concealing folds of fabric and skin, in the shadowed corners of sharp cartilage and bone and the dark bags under heavy-lidded eyes, however, there is a tiredness. A touch of wear and tear revealing itself in the telltale signs of heavy sighs and a lack of depth to her character. Bean was a stuffed kind of hollow woman, lighting up in inopportune moments where she would stare into space then fade away inevitably like a crumbling cigarette butt.

When put like that, it was quite a mystery why the kids like Shugo and Noritaka trusted her. At least superficially so, they acted as if there was no difference between them. Her a stranger to their sense of duty like the lone bird fluttering above was a stranger to the big blue canvas that made up their heavens.

Petite hands gripping the rifle anew the once muffled sounds of heavy traffic phases back into full strength and she cocks it into position. Sneaks a peek at the parade going down below as the old men in their suits take the lead at the front. Trailing ever so slightly off from the somber silhouettes she suddenly finds herself reeling, the locks of a stark white pileum swaying into view. It hits her like a tsunami, leaving no room to breathe in its crushing presence while simultaneously draining the lungs of all air and words she might want to say. Like a wave, however, the tide ebbs quickly and some shouting commotion and a glance away later the figure has disappeared.

Bean fumbles for the communication apparatus,"Uhm...Shugo there is some uproar outside the building between civilians and guards. Should I take action to move to ground? You might also want to be extra alert...". Despite the monotone delivery, something has changed. Something which makes her bite down on her lower lip and frown in silence while mentally being all but silent:

What am I doing? It's not him, it can't be.

Empty. The mall was just as deserted as she’d expect from an attack. Aside from a few shopkeepers and the people obligated to be in, she didn't see a lot of happy faces. Good. Fuck them thinking this was Ibara. If they were gonna paint them as the monsters in the closet then she didn’t care for their fear. She kicked her heels into the floor with annoyance as she went towards the meetup point.

She stopped as she got a phone call.

    Kruger?

Was he already there? Was she late?

She picked up the phone with cheer in her voice that drew a few side eyes from the others around her.

“Heya babe! It’s ya girl. Leave a message after the beep! Beeeeeeeep. Just kidding what’s up.”

Fuse Yuudai
Waiting for: BriiAngelic BriiAngelic Reaper Von Valentine Reaper Von Valentine
1619468695817.pngThe original plan to go hit the Prime Minister and Pope involved Yuudai heading the attack.

But then, reports of the Hellspawn dealer arose.

It’s unfortunate when plans change, but Yuudai trusted Ken and those he sent on the mission.

The Ibara leader felt split in his decision; one being a grandiose plan, the other being the potential for finding his long lost sister.

The man elected for the latter, with the reasoning that assassination missions required less people.

They better not fuck it up, or so help me.

He dragged from his cigarette before entering through a backway into the empty portion of a beaten down mall.

By that point, he already received a text from Kairi that she was nearing the location, along with a picture of herself. He couldn’t stop himself from smiling at the thoroughness of his newest partner.

Bunny had entered after Yuudai, taking her giant nose to the ground and sniffing.

Checking for unknown scents? That’s a good man.

In response, Bunny huffed out, causing any underlying dust to fly up.

After his check, Bunny wiped his nose with a three-fingered paw before approaching Yuudai. He didn’t stop there though. Bunny pressed his giant nose up against Yuudai, a growl coming from his throat before opening his jaws wide.

Yuudai smirked, taking his cigarette from his mouth and tossing it to the ground. Even if the lit end touched Bunny, the giant lizard wouldn’t have felt it.

Feeling playful before we get down to business, eh? Fine.

Gotta keep the beast happy for a successful partnership, after all.

He widened his stance and allowed Bunny to take his arm into his sharp-toothed mouth. Yuudai’s other hand gripped the side of his jaw, and the man growled back at the giant lizard as they started playing as if two dogs would.

Except, a human out of his right mind playing with a sharp-toothed, seemingly vicious infected beast was a wild concept that anyone not used to them would think Yuudai was trying to keep from getting eaten with a wide smile plastered to his face.

The others would be here soon.
