Falconreach Manor
alexander-pavlenko-teslarpg-mansion-exterior-01-a-1.jpg
Everyone would arriving at Falconreach Manor. Whether one arrived by driving themselves, having been transported by family or by public transit lines on hover trains, they all would eventually find themselves heading down a winding rocky road until they were met with the view of a gated area around a enormous castle or mansion.

To even enter the premises one had to have had an invitation which would allow them to get past the security system. All they had to do was hand their invitation to the Automaton standing in a booth by the Manor Gates and the automaton would craft them their student identification card. The automaton simply told them to head inside.

Upon reaching the manor they were greeted with the premises. A long front yard of green grass and a cross-secting white sidewalks leading up to an archway and a grand double front door.
The manor itself was large. Almost castle-like. With many further in view sub-buildings with long hallways and the forest behind the manor. It was a very pristine and white manor with elegant design, one could assume whoever built it must have paid a fortune to make it.

The inside led to a great room with a double staircase which one might assume led to further hallways or rooms upstairs. A wolf-like automaton in a suit could be seen standing up ontop of the great stairway.
"It's been a long day. I'm sure you all would love to get started but I think we should get settled. Why don't you settle your things upstairs in one of the dorms. We can talk about permanent rooms and everything else tomorrow. I'll come by and grab everyone for dinner in an hour. Feel free to get acquainted with eachother and familiarize yourself with the mansion.

If one or two of you would like to help me prepare dinner, it would be appreciated. After all helping in the kitchen will be one of your duties here at Falconreach."
Lord Taylor preceded to head towards the kitchen and dismissed them.

departure_of_the_borealis_by_chvacher-d54ih4z (2).jpgTo say the train ride was long and uncomfortable was to say the least for Theodore. He didn't like being so crowded around strangers. For all Alavor talked about being the future it sure didn't solve crowded trains. But the thought of getting to pursue a career in music was too tempting. He wanted to give his family the best live they could live too.

He'd been walking a long road since he got off the train. So many rocks were being kicked up by him out of pure boredom. Would he arrive to the academy soon? He felt like he'd been walking forever. And just like that he could see a large manor appearing in the distance. The closer he got the more impressed he was. It did seem like it was expensive. He didn't know what he was expecting but it sure wasn't something located so hidden away from the city. The place was beautiful. Almost white as snow. He wondered what secrets were laid within the walls of the manor.

Arriving towards the gate he walked up to the booth and the automaton asked him for his invitation which he handed over. The automaton stamped a card and handed it to Theodore. Theodore stood examining the card. It was a student ID. He had sent over his information already which was why it was easy to make.
He pocketed the ID swiftly before continuing to the grounds.

As he made his way across the fields he admired the place more. Someone definitely took care of this place well and not a single tree or blade of grass was uneven. He walked closer edging his way to the archway and was met with a grand double door. Well it was this or nothing..

Upon entering he was greeted to a main room with a double staircase and a peculiar looking automaton standing at the top of the stairs. The man spoke to the arriving students, telling them to settle in some rooms upstairs. Theodore had only brought what he deemed necessary. Basic necessities, clothes, hygiene, some spare money. He simply wore a grey somewhat worn backpack on his shoulders and made his way upstairs to find one of the rooms.
He had found a long room with many beds symmetrically lining down the room and a balcony that showed the outside, dropping his backpack down by one of the beds he ended up heading towards the balcony to see the manor.

Lupa sat in the back of a police carriage, hands cuffed together and two police automaton with teaser baton aimed directly at her. It was a tight squeeze and hot, hotter than usual even when considering how warm these steam carriages would get. An old model T22, ancient as steam carriages go not far away from the first ones ever build, yet still favoured by the underfunded police. Fast even compared to modern steam "cars" but unreliable with the steam machinery exposed to the elements and the poor passengers. It was a good thing she was used to this sort of thing, having had to crawl through the steam pipes of a factory growing up. Still, the effect was claustrophobic and stiffening.

"Mind...Mind if wee... Open a window.." She attempted to say looking at each automaton. "Ssssss... Some of us... Don't... Do well in heat..." The two automaton were quite as statues, only the eerie slight movement in their green eyes to her is the only sign of life."P... P...Please."

"Quiet, packless!" Came the voice of the only other truly living thing, the officer who was escorting her. The statement exclaiming why she was given the high security for someone like her, a malnourished stuttering poor orphan, being handed-over to a school. That lithe girl was a werewolf, specifically a werewolf without a clan, family or pack. It implied she had no leash to control her wolfish self. That was not an unfounded fear to have she had to concede considering her past, but given a choice of indulging in her other self and face being hunted down or to play nice and be part of weird school the latter is the obvious answer. "We are almost there."

Lupa tried to look at what would be her home for the foreseeable future. From what she had heard by rumour and what she could get from scraps of news in the streets, this school was pretty high class. A converted mansion of some mega rich extinct family. Sadly, the view was blocked by the two automatons and obscured view by the divide between the front of the carriage and the back. All she could see what some treens and some green, a rare sight to someone who spend her life in the big city. The soon came to the gate and the driver spoke to the automaton manning it, she heard him mention her real name and the automaton handing him something. Sounded like some sort of id. "You will get this once we handed you over, packless." The driver said, as if sensing her thoughts.

They drove for a little while further before stopping. Lupa can just about see small hint of the manor. There was a brief pause as the last bit of steam of the car was vented, and the officer stepped out. Soon the two automatons followed, allowing Lupa to exit the hot vehicle. The air was relief, but that was quickly forgotten when she saw the manor. She had seen only factories that was as large as this mansion, and none of them looked like this. So intricate, clean and colourful.

"Get moving!" The officer called out breaking her trance. An automaton took her arm firmly and practically dragged her into the mansion, up to the double staircase the headmaster was standing in. "Officer Marrow for a prisoner hand over."

He dragged his fingers along the edge of a leather pouch. He followed the bumps of thread until it turned and his finger brushed over a bruised corner. Gavril kept his gaze on the wolf automaton while patting down the rest of the pouch. There were a couple more scratches, but they weren't too deep. At least they didn't feel noticeable.

The pouches hanging from his belt were expensive and, now that he thought about it, susceptible to injury when rushing through tight spaces. If he had woken up earlier he wouldn't have had to take the crowded shortcuts. Not that it was entirely his fault. The hotel didn't send anyone to wake him up. He knew it wasn't as credited as other places he had stayed at, but that is a crucial service to have.

Echoing footsteps drew Gavril out of his thoughts. The wolf was walking away and a red haired kid was already heading up the stairs. The previously frozen student body began to buzz with movement and conversation. It dawned on Gavril that he had these few seconds to make an impression.

"Here. Let me help you with that." He took hold of the nearest bulky-looking suitcase before picking up his own with his other hand. He didn't get a good glimpse of the owner of the suitcase, but he began walking toward the stairs.

"What brings you to Falconreach?" He called behind him. He and his new acquaintance needed to stay ahead before the stairwell became crowded.

Victoria was drove by one of her butlers to the manor. She had one reason for being here and that was mainly to become a member of the Messenger Corporation. Their job was simply to deliver mail fast as possible across Alavor and sometimes even went to other cities to deliver mail. Sure you could deliver just through sky-ships but it was significantly slower and less reliable when delivering important or delicate material. She also supposed she could help the family company. She was at a crossroads of sort of whether to try becoming the CEO of The Swan Corporation or try to become a Messenger Corp Member.

Having arrived by her own carriage she simply observed the window all the way to the manor, having finally arrived she bid the butler goodbye. Making it through the gateway she accepted her ID and dragged her luggage into the Manor entering the doors. It was a nice manor, not unlike a manor that her family owned in another countryside location. She could appreciate the work put into building and maintaining the place, having spent much time working with technology and spending time around fanciful architecture.

Standing among the crowd as the Automaton spoke, she assumed he was the headmaster of this academy. When he spoke up about helping in the kitchen she frowned. Usually all of her food came prepared for her. She wasn't against cooking herself though, it was simply not encouraged due to her status. That being said she always wanted to try it herself, and hopefully since it was just her peers this time around she wouldn't be judged.

Turning to see someone grab her suitcase she decided she might as well head upstairs. She wanted to speak up however she didn't really get a chance because he started moving towards the stairs.
However the young man decided to speak up giving her opportunity to glean information about him.

She could see some ears and deduced he was likely Fae, probably grew up as an aristocrat like her from the way he spoke and walked.
"Trying to decide between two different careers. One is stable and boring and the other is unpredictable and exciting." She said speaking up.
"How about you? What interested you about Falconreach?" She asked.

Lord Taylor was suprised to see one of his students being nearly dragged into the mansion by the police. He had made sure to memorize the files of every person he sent an invitation to. This one he knew well who she was. Turning to greet the officers he spoke up.
"Thank you officers, that will be fine for now, you can release her." He said. Peering his attention to the student in question he began to talk to her.
"You must be Elizabeth Turner. I've read much about you. I am Lord Taylor Von Thassalius, the headmaster of Falconreach Academy and the Lord of The Thassalius House. I hope you will find your stay here at Falconreach to be pleasant. I'm sorry to meet you in such a awkward situation but how about you come with me and help me make some dinner. We're having pot roast and you can choose the side dishes." The automaton spoke up.
Taylor wasn't sure whether she was going to be a difficult one to manage. He had some experience dealing with some defiant underlings in his time as a General. Still however this wasn't the military, and everyone here was to be seen as equals in status during their time as students.

With a loud screech of tires and a big cloud of dirt the van came to a sudden end, the door to the vehicle opened before it had even come to a complete stop. A bunce of wild looking children bunded out in a heap one of them jumping on top of the heap like some kind of King of the hill. "I WIN AGAIN!!! owowowow .... mmmooommm " Alex started whining as he was pulled from the heap by his ear. "Stop that, I swear if the school call and tell me you broke something or blew something up, or someone is missing again, you are walking all the way home" Her stern looked softened as she pulled him into a hug "We are so proud of you sweetheart! Imagine, Falconreach" His mom started tearing up "Okay mom I can take it from here." He tried to save himself the embarrassment of the entire family causing a scene that he knew would happen if they were here long enough. After greeting his mother and father quickly he grabbed his backpack and rushed towards the building.

He stopped in front of the the entrance, looking up at his with a low whistle, it was missive. Something drew his attention to the tree to his left, he frowned and ducked his head to get a closer look. Was that a girl with heels in there?! As he took a step towards the tree the figure took a step back blending back into the shadows, by the time he got to the tree there was nobody there. Huh, that was weird. Oh well. Grabbing his bag he headed into the building.

Luna gave a small sigh of irritation when the boy that just piled out of the van spotted her. She blended back into the shadows and back through her room window before he could get there. She had no problems moving silently besides the fact she was wearing a pair of heals with fishnet stockings and a kind of plastic short catsuit. She had a pair of feathers around her shoulders. She had come early so she could be there first, she wanted to observe the others come in. So far she had spotted human, werewolf, vampire, automation and even more fae. Seems falconreach really did take all, even the wolf dragged here by police, she was curious as to why, she would have to keep her eye on her. The fae she did not trust, her experience with them were not ..... pleasant. This was a big place, with many many occupants, it made her a little uneasy, she was not use to so many. Then again, many people meant many secrets.

It was strange being face to face with the headmaster of the school, an automaton servant turned owner of a school and the property of his masters. A rags-to-riches story if ever she heard one, maybe giving hope for her for more as much in doubt as it is. Still it was still an automaton and she disliked their kind, something about being manufactured living things while others are mere robots. It's unnatural. Also, if its manufactured it can be controlled and programmed, much more easily than any natural-born person, so how much of what an automaton does was their own choice?

"Lupa..." She blurted out at the mention of her given names. It made her cringe every time she heard it, just reminded her of those that left her behind to the street. Why should she keep the name given to her by those who could not keep her. Better to keep the name for those who truly cared for her, or once did. "I prefer being called...Lupa... Fits better. Elizabeth... Too... Too.. High class for the likes of me." She explained.

"I... No... Cant cook... For me having any food is a delicacy... And i eat raw meat..." She commented. "I would.. Have me cook unless you want werewolf hair as ingredient."

"Ah yes. The age-old conundrum." Gavril shifted his stance to better carry the suitcases up the last few steps. In doing so, he was able to get a better view of the person. He could tell from her clothes that she was from the "higher" end of society. How high was still a mystery.

"I came here for the prospects, of course." He said.

Once atop the staircase, it occurred to him that he neither knew which way the dorms were nor whether both of them would be heading the same way. He gently placed her suitcase on the ground.

"I suppose I'll be seeing you at dinner." He tilted his head in a small bow. "I'm Gavril."

He waited a bit for her response, though his gaze shifted to students who seemed to know where they were going. He was starting to get hungry and wanted to get settled as soon as possible.

Interacting with Lupa ( ThatGuyWithSouvlaki ThatGuyWithSouvlaki )

Lord Taylor eyed the student curiously. He felt like she wasn't quite open to him. Nevertheless it would have to be something that is changed over time. The werewolf seemed to prefer the name Lupa. Perhaps a street name of sorts. His brothers in arms often called him Wolf due to his appearance.
"Werewolf hair you say? I will have you know my face is a metal wolf head. But still perhaps you can atleast learn something from watching. Cooking isn't a talent, but a life skill that is acquired." He said leading her into the kitchen.

Once they were in the kitchen he began cooking food into a large Dutch oven. The kitchen itself was orderly and massive, shelves of pots and crates of various herbs, spices, vegetables and food were lined up in a freezer in the back. It was very quaint and one could tell that a lot of time was spent cooking here judging by the scuffs of some of the metal tables used for cooking.
He grabbed a knife, expertly chopping up olives, onions and potatoes.
"Tell me about yourself Lupa. Why did police have to end up bringing you here? It seems to me like you've had some run ins with the law."
Once he finished chopping up ingredients he threw them into the pot.
"That should be enough for now. We can let the food cook for now. It's time to set the tables. I don't suppose you feel like helping with that either?" He said heading outside the kitchen to the grand dining room. It was a well lit room with a fireplace and a long dining table made of wood. Some marks could be seen from what seemed to be previous students. One of them read "Jason sucks"

He was quick to place the silverware and plates and cups down.
"Sparkling Juice. Non alcoholic of course. You all may find your own alcohol with your own allowances in your own time. Dinner is a time of relaxing and conversation."

"Yes I suppose that is a common dilemma."

Victoria said. It was true that she probably sounded like every young woman complaining about their career and future. There was more to hers she felt though. The larger implications of the decision she had to make would drastically affect her entire family and the business of hundreds of people working for them. Still the thought of being a courier felt like a exciting prospect. She always enjoyed the life messenger corps got to live, their unique uniforms had brought her back to her childhood watching from afar whenever one of them ended up arriving at her manor. She could still remember the window sill of her room she often peeked from.

"Prospects. Aren't we all here for that."

She said closing her eyes wistfully and reopening them. Gavril placed her suitcase on the ground biding her farewell and introducing himself.

"I am Victoria. I suppose you're leaving due to dorms likely being separated by gender. I think I did see a red haired male end up going left up the staircase, he seemed in quite a hurry, I suppose the male dorms would be that way." She said before looking right.

Theodore could smell scents of cooking from downstairs. The smells reminded him much of home. He wanted to get a good career in musicianship. Standing on the balcony the view of the manor and it's ground was quite supernatural. He had to simply play the violin in this situation. Heading back towards the room he opened his backpack grabbing the Violin from it.

He used the bow to strike the things testing to see if it still worked to his liking before beginning to play a symphony as he walked back to the Balcony. The day was reaching night and in an hour or two the sun would completely set as the moon arose to the sky. It was the time of day that made his melody even more striking and sad.

Many adults told him when he played the violin he had an aura of someone who had many more years of experience, delicate fingertips that could only play with age. He was only 18 currently. Although he could live for a long time as a vampire, he was natural born, a somewhat rarer occurrence in the vampire community but not unheard of. Most vampires usually didn't marry, it was difficult to find someone who they could put up with for the rest of their long lives. Anyone who wasn't a vampire would likely die of old age before the vampire died.

He never really thought anything but supporting his family and music...

"You...You Hair is not what... What i meant." Lupa commented back. She was still uncertain how to take the headmaster of the school, at least he seemed kind if nothing else. She did not like the fact he was an automaton any better. Still, when guided, she followed Taylor towards the kitchen, feeling very awkward and unsure of what she was expected to do. She was out of her element, playing nice and the good student in a school.

As they walked, Lupa looked around, particularly all the decorative pieces such as painting and other ornaments. Her instincts as a thief told her that just one of these item would go for a lot on the street. Money that could feed and shelter a person for a couple of weeks, just hanging there as decoration. How the rich used their wealth was ridiculous, even when the claim to do good. Part of her was tempted to redistribute some wealth. Why not after all, what real good otherwise would she do in a place like this? Then again, did she really want to go back to life in the street or jails?

Her one good eye widened when she looked out in the kitchen, all the food and fresh vegetables. More food than she had ever seen in her lifetime. So taken in, she did not even realize at first when Taylor spoke to her. "Huh... Oh... You took a criminal packless werewolf in... Without looking at record? Brave of you..." She asked curiously. "Had to do a few things to survive in the stre.... Street. Don't have... Have the... Benefit of Inherited wealth... What i did.. Bent the occasion law... Just got sloppy one time...." She followed Taylor to the kitchen, not really doing much but watching.

SomebodyElse SomebodyElse

Alex was not in his new room more than a few seconds before it resembled a warzone, luckily it seemed like he would not have to share a room, not that he minded but it usually becomes a problem for the other person since he had little to no boundaries having grown up in a big pack with many siblings. He smelled the food immediately and gave a smile, finally food!! The amount he could put away and still remain fit was staggering really, he had no trouble following the scent to the kitchen where he found the big metal man, he thinks he was the teacher or headmaster or whatever, and a student cooking.

"OOHH I thought I smelled some food, great I'm starving! Need help?" He asked approaching them with a smile, he really usually got along with anyone so he didn't mind just kind of bombarding people. He pulled short however when he got noticed something else than the smell of food. The girl standing there was a werewolf as well. But she was def not from their pack, and since his father was Alpha he knew most packs from the surrounding areas, she did not smell like any of them. He stared at her confused for a moment. Not that he meant to be rude or anything, Alex was always very what you see is what you get so he just asked promptly "Where are you from?"

Luna kept to her room, she was curious of the students now littering the halls, but she was not quite ready to be with so many people. Her ears picked up however, the most beautiful sound she had ever heard. Luna loved music and had a beautiful voice, but since the music usually happened in a group where she grew up, she just hanged around in the shadow, never participating. She followed the sound, making sure to avoid everyone that passed until she found a redhead playing the violin, he seemed lost in play and she did not want him to stop so she just hung in the shadows watching him.

Everyone had arrived and taken seats at the dining room table. Fresh bowls of pottage were served. Bread and Water were being served as well. It wasn't exactly the most extravagant meal but Lord Taylor wanted that to be the incentive for the students cooking their own meals.

Lord Taylor sat at the end of the table, while he didn't have any food present as he did not require any due to being an automaton, he still was present.

"I am Lord Taylor Von Thassalius. I am ofcourse the headmaster of this school but also the Head of house Thassalius.
I inherited this house from my old masters who I served. While every family member did eventually die off, I was able to find purpose joining the military for awhile.
It was there that I realized that many people simply aren't equipped to deal with the real world. Sometimes a hand has to be offered to the brightest individuals in order for genius to shine through.

Here at Falconreach Academy you will be each given a placement in one of the 4 houses of the Academy. They are, House Allure, House Valor, House Ashmere and House Machina.
You will find a pamplet placed in your bedrooms when you head back to the dorms for the night explaining the houses, it will feature a short quiz in which we will determine the best placement for you.

For now however how about we go around introducing eachother. Since we all be together it would be good to know who we all are and a little about eachother."
