The Wizards of Rotsheimgaard

In Rotsheimgaard the winds are magical. Wherever they blow magical powers follow. Certain individuals have mastered the skill to weave the winds in their favour and can create desired effects from seemingly nothing. Winds are woven in different ways, either by the telling of certain magical words, or by magical gestures or even rituals that require certain components.

Wind Weaving can create virtually any effect imaginable! It can change the weather, make things invisible, shoot balls of fire, make dead people come back to life, turn trolls into stone, and all manner of things! However, the more powerful a spell is, the more wind needs to be woven. And even the mightiest Wind Weavers are unable to weave too much wind at a time without losing control. It is possible for some Wind Weavers to store winds in certain objects, such as staves, wands or lanterns. Lastly, and most importantly, a Wind Weaver must learn and master each spell he casts, and can not make spells up on the go. Because of this, Wind Weavers tend to specialize in one category of spells that remind of each other, making them easier to learn. It should be remembered that weaving winds is hard work, and drains much energy from the weaver, meaning that only the most experienced weavers can handle the strongest spells.

The quality of a wind weavers spells varies depending on the surrounding winds. The stronger the winds blow the more powerful a spell can be woven. However, it's also harder to control strong and whirling wind! For example; Even an inexperienced weaver might be able to produce extraordinarly powerful spells during a heavy storm, but chances are that the spells will get out of control, rendering in the wrong spells being cast, or the spells turning against their caster.

Wind Weavers exist in all cultures, but are considered heathens by followers of The One Faith. Wind Weavers that are exposed are often prosecuted and burned at stake in Danr and Sverjia.
