Within the Depths of a Dream
Based off of this short story, taking its literal sense and not based off of the author’s note at the bottom.

It is now the grand year of 2025, and technology hadn’t advanced as much as many would’ve
hoped. However, a previously illegal sport was finally shoved into the limelight after being made
legal in the single state of New York. Wilding, as it is called, soon took over Central Park. Walls
seventeen feet high encasing the space that was topped with an electrically charged mesh. The
object is to allow people to feel a small primal urge that was apparently lost long ago, a mixture
of chemicals and lights within the entrance tunnels allowing one to go through a change,
essentially turning them into an animal, the one chosen seemingly at random. They then wear a
collar that allows them to turn back at any point in time, instead of waiting for the effects of the
drugs used to manipulate the DNA to wear off after an entire five hours.
It was instantly popular as soon as it had opened, people coming from all over to try out this new
attraction, it pulling in ungodly amounts of cash not only for the company but the city as well, only strengthening its reign on the city and talks of opening up other locations around the United
States.
Character A has been wilding many times since it had opened, enjoying it extremely for whatever
reason. And after awhile, they finally try to convince character B, a close friend, sibling, lover, what have you, to join them. B had been skeptical the whole time, and are clearly nervous or
fearful when A drags them in.
Where it goes from here is up to us pretty much. I do have a few ideas….
- The trip has… unforeseen side effects upon them both. (Anything from intense mood swings to “oh look that tail’s still there…”)
- Something happens within the park while they are there. (Uhhh, hostage situation? I dunno)
- For some reason, B doesn’t undergo the change (which can be due to an odd strand in their DNA to being x supernatural creature. The latter could also be why they didn’t want to go)
