Fantasy When mythical gods bless a mortal-interest check

Roleplay Type(s)
I got an idea after watching a bit of The Gorilla God's Go To Girl however the premise is different, read more for further details and what I have in mind.

At 15, each person must undergo a blessing trial, where, upon completion they receive a blessing from an animal god. That blessing grants the person traits that are associated with that animal, a pair of wings from the eagle god, more speed from the cheetah god, even the power to endure cold climates from the bear god. Each god also represents an important element to the world. The monkey god being the god of invention allows those who hold it to make discoveries in science or the dog god being the god of guidance with many going into search and rescue occupation.

There is a taboo though in the kingdom, the mythic god. The mythic gods are creatures who do not exist in the real world. There powers are dangerous and unpredictable, often seen as monstrous and those that get them are cast out, experimented on, or killed. While you thought you could keep it secret people found out and you're brought before the king and must make a choice, die or go on an adventure to take control of the animal gods and the powers they have.

The tl;dr of this is that you are someone who, either just getting your blessing or spent years hiding it, have gotten a blessing from a "dark god", and are captured by the king who plans to send you on a mission to attempt to capture the power of the gods for the kingdom. If any of you try to leave, don't obey an order, or fail the mission everyone ends up dead. Like Suicide Squad only no one is actually guilty of a crime.

If you have questions let me know.
