This takes place in alternate universe to my other thread but is WAY different.
1938
The Idea of superpowers is suggested by a comic superhero named Super-Man as many people all over the world start questioning the idea of Superpowers ‘are they real?’ The public would ask, some people even convinced others they were superheroes. Though the government watched and soon started experimenting with radiation to make serums called R-00, though all this did was deform the subjects into globs of skin. They soon gave up on the project and left it alone for years at a time.
1957
The discovery of Myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy is discovered, which basically gives the average human super strength. The government resumes their research on superpowers, trying to figure out a way to artificially induce Myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy. Though they continue their research for years without testing any actual ways to do this.
1969
They used a mix of steroids and the gene that gives Myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy to make a serum called EC-00, all subjects seem fine for the time being and over the days they build in muscle and eventually are able to lift cars with ease. They start experimenting with the serum and continue research.
1978
They decide to further fund the research and serum made, they find the ACTN3 Gene and use it in the serum, allowing subjects to run at the same speeds and even faster than usain bolt nowadays. They start field testing it and it works successfully, however they start getting careless and let the subjects go out in the public, which allows the citizens to see these amazing feats of strength and speed. Now calling the serum EC-01
Present Day
In 2021, many mutated monsters have appeared, they seem like giant sentient globs of skin that are extremely durable, they pose a threat as they have wiped out thousands of people already and are continuing to move.
