Fantasy What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Lean nodded enthusiastically as things seemed to finally be under way. She cocked a grin as Eltrial put their team together and assigned jobs, and to be honest he was really good at it, especially having the obscure knowledge of the Orcish and Fae aptitude for low-light vision. Still it all worked out for her as she readied herself for the trek and smiled.

"Course, scouting is what I do best. Sides, it'd be a cold day in an active volcano before I let myself get jumped by a bunch of jumped up little goblin shits."

(Honestly not much else I can out up at the moment xD )

With a nod, Eltrial moved off to gather his own things, "We'll meet in front of the tavern in a short time. Please, Everyone who's fit for the journey, meet out there."

He returned to where he had quartered, and gathered up his gear. In honesty, he left nothing there. He'd never fully disassembled his travel kit, as he had only arrived a few days prior. So as he tied his bag up and slung it over his shoulder, he left nothing behind save for a spot on the floor where the dust wasn't as prolific.

Leaving the store room, he made his way in front of The Wooden Dagger Pub, and peered up at the clear sky, the warm mid-morning air gently blowing through the streets just barely offsetting the heat of the day. He peered around at the town of Lystol, he'd not paid much attention before, and inwardly smiled, "Not a bad place to start out from I suppose." he thought to himself.

~Story Point~

Okay folks, so this is the turn point of the play, were going to be leaving the headquarters of the Blue Moon Company for a time. Anyone who wants to come along needs to do so now. At this point, everyone coming for this adventure needs to "Check In" by showing up out front of the Wooden Dagger Pub in Lystol and report to Eltrial. After which point I will be doing a location jump to the next part of the play complete with a description of the new location were going to. PLEASE inform me either in OOC or in PM if you do not intend to continue so that I can get things rolling for the rest of us. I wont be hurt if you don't want to continue, but I do want to get things rolling for the rest of the players.

  • Cierra

The brunette finally got to her feet, moving beside Eltrial and striking up a conversation versed in the handling of the operations. She would now head down to the door once more, hopping in and hanging from it, grinding her sneakers against the inner walls and hooking her chain against one of the trap door bolts. Cierra began to make an announcement, and set her hair before speaking, "So, assassins. You're with me. Whoever's going, meet, our 'new leader', up in front. I'll be setting most of you out on espionage; a direct order from the guy." She glanced over to the masked child, "And hey, Flies. Today marks your first external mission hmm?" the female gave out a light giggle, "I'll look out for you if need be." With those words, the young rucksack slung herself back up through the trapdoor, and walked up beside the brute, hands behind her head, "aaaaaaand, done!"

Itrudal stood leaning up against the wall next to the entrance of the Blue Moon Companies HQ, his large cross bow resting on his back was mostly hidden from sight by a midnight cloak that rustled in the wind. Looking to his left as Eltrial exited the HQ he watched Eltrial servery the town. "Well, dont tell me your getting a group together for a job?" Itrudal said as he pushed off the wall and turned to face Eltrial, "I know i'v been gone for a bit, but if it ok with you i'd like to tag along on this one." Itrudal said as flipped an abnormally large coin in the air that glinted gold as it spun, without looking up his arm shot out from beneath his cloak to snatched the coin out of the air as it passed his eye level. Turning on his heel Itrudal walked off down the street, "i assume that you could use my experience, i will see you at the Wooden Dagger" Itrudal called over his shoulder as he waved facing the opposite direction.

Ireth didnt take long as she walked out of the pub and waited outside. She looked up at the sky lost in thought. The idea of going down into mines made her nervous. Fighting goblins made her even more uneasy. She took in a deep breath and looked at her hands as electricity danced around her fingers. She smiled what once she thought was dark magic she was learning to accept.

FireFlies nodded his head at Cierra's comment. "Mhmm." He turned around and followed the female assassin up the stairs. He walked from behind the bar and greeted the bartender and the waitresses. On his way out he grabbed a stack of cards from a table. He knew he would need something to kill his boredom on the cart. His excitement showed through his constant humming of a bar song the drunks often sang. He shielded his eyes as he came out of The Wooden Dagger. "...it's a beautiful day..." He said in a monotone voice before he started to hum again.

Since he already had all his gear with him and he could just hunt or forage for food as needed, Karut walked after Eltrial at a close pace, keeping an eye out. They stopped in front of the Dagger, a pub he had taken a few mead recipes from, and breathed in the fresh air with a smile. His eyes floated down to Eltrial who was simply staring out at the town, but Karut knew he was smiling on the inside. He gave him a hearty slap on the back along with a laugh.

"Beautiful day, huh? Hard to imagine there's things as savage and brutal as goblins out there. But at least we're dealing with them, huh? I can't wait to get there. I'm raring for a fight!"

Grinning as Eltrial said soon, she 'shadowed' and went to her room. She decided to work on her new disguise, but hastily. It wasn't perfect, but no one knew it was her. She smiled as she touched her new hair, er, Dyed hair. Sighing she quickly grabbed her arm sheath and placed it on. Putting in her hooked dagger, She placed knives in her boots and on her hip sheaths. Running through the tavern she skidded to a halt nearby with a nod beneath her hood to Eltrail

Leah wasn't a particularly decisive sort, she could be one way one day and another the next and overall she often figured that the adjustments in attitude could be attributed to simple day to day changes, such as being tired of cornbread one day, or sick of fried tatties the next.

That all said, the one thing she could unanimously always agree to was that waiting was booooooooooooooring. Like, seriously, she'd rather have small beetles slowly consume her flesh as she writhed in a pile of salt than be stuck waiting for stuff to happen. Well okay, maybe she was exaggerating but that wasn't the point.

Looking down from where she'd climbed up on the roof, Leah nodded approvingly as she noted that at least some of the people had started to show, but lords above know why they were taking so damned long. Rolling her eyes, the Fae-orc began to climb down from the roof of the building towards her comrades, her mix of orcish strength and the fae natural ability to seeming climb or cling to anything that they can get the slightest grip on definitely helping as she stopped above the half-giant leader.

Giving a 'heads up', Leah carefully placed the blunt end of her spear on a part of Eltrial's shoulder armour before balancing carefully and climbing down her spear to sit of the man's left shoulder, casually sweeping some dust out of his hair before leaning an arm on his head.

"So, Tiny, we going anywhere any time soon, or are we still waiting on a few of these molasses-butts?" she laughed, imagining the thousands of ways he was likely about to fling her from his shoulder.

Eltrial frowned lightly at the man, narrowing his eyes, he remarked, "Itrudal..? Itrudal Therius? I am in fact building a group for it, if that's truly you, I'd be more then glad of your assistance my old friend. I don't know if you've heard of them but... I'm leading the Blue Moon Company now." he said with a slight grin.

(Killor and I had previously spoken about our characters having known one another from previous encounters)

Rather then fling her like a missile into the stratosphere, Eltrial simply glanced up at the diminutive Fae-Orc with a raised brow. He mulled over knocking her from her new perch, but instead, released a slight sigh. He'd been too entertained by Karut's enthusiasm to let her jesting mockery bring him to annoyance. "We wait. Mind the spikes Leah, I'd rather not see you pierced on one." He said with a grin.

The armor he wore was odd, it was a mixture of parts from various campaigns he had led or been one. His shoulders were adorned with heavy chain mail that he hardly felt, soft leather was the next layer, followed by the heavy plate armor that glistened in the sunlight. He had a single pauldron on his right shoulder, one that extended up so that if he lowered his face towards it, he could block blows to his face, and his left had densely knitted splint mail running from his collar to his forearm. Pauldron was the topping point to his right arms full plate armor that extended from the back of his hand in sections until it ran into the large pauldron. While physically it made him look unbalanced, it gave him superb defense, while allowing him to retain the flexibility to wield his weapons with grandiose skill.

He paused, and nodded to Leah, "Would you possibly do me a favor Leah? Take Fireflies and acquire a cart and travel sundries and wares. We'll need fresh water, enough for the company, for at least five days. Corinth is to the south, and there's been a drought in that region for some time now." he remarked, wanting to see how well she took orders.

(A note. The drought is foreshadowing. Food, herbs, and water will be scarce on this journey and all others southbound until the quest where they deal with the drought)

Eltrial had briefly acknowledged the three other women that had since exited the taverns darkness. He found it difficult to recall all of their names at times, and since being elected leader, he found that he needed to recommit their names to memory.

He glanced to the Elven woman, "Ireth... Amadil... Right?" He asked her, "Do you think you'll be able to harness your power when we go into combat?" he asked her flatly.

He was relying on Cierra to handle Nightmare and Dianna Maki more or less, but he nodded to both of them, knowing them both to be skilled close combat fighters. He raised a slight brow at the bow that Dianna bore, but paid it little mind. It was always helpful to have another archer in a fray.

Ireth was patiently waiting as she let the electricity flow around her hand. She looked up when she heard he name and saw Eltrial speaking with her. She sighed and closed her hand the electricity was gone. She took a moment to think about his question. It was a valid question, it was days ago before she started to use her power. If she wasn't careful she would end up hurting herself or others. She didn't have quite a handle on it to the extent she needed for this kind of battle. She wondered how much of Eltrial knew of that. She tried to practice early when the others were sleeping.

"Yes, I can use my power. More so in battle a lot of energy is used in a fight I can use that to create more than enough electricity needed."she said using her words carefully. She wasn't about to let on that she didn't have complete control.

Red quickly poured all of the burning hot tea directly into his mouth and swallowed it with one big gulp as he saw the others walk outside, the drink seared his throat but it didn't phase him at all because of the commotion that was ensuing, it was too distracting. Red rapidly rushed out of the tavern and out onto the streets.

His cuffs, belts and rags chimed while the soft wind blew throughout Lystol. The nice atmosphere and breeze almost was enough to distract Red from the heat and bustling market only a few blocks away. Upon spreading his hand out in front of him, a complicated looking rune formed only a couple of centimeters away from Reds palm. A couple of minutes passed before it finally moved onto the stone ground. Blinding sparks poured out from the Rune as an
animal like figure began to emerge from it. A flash of crimson light engulfed the near-empty street and the sound of glass shattering was prominent throughout. After everything settled, a blue tiger like familiar equipped with a saddle silently growled in anticipation as its paws violently hit the ground.

Red lowered his hand and grinned. "I call him Scabbard."

Karut gave a small nod as well as chuckle as he looked to Eltrial.

"Aye, a wagon would be nice. I guess I could hunt and forage for things on the way there. No such thing as being overprepared, huh?"

His hoof began scratching the ground in impatience; he just wanted to go and get to the fighting already. Still, with Eltrial barking out orders and things like this....to Karut, he seemed like an entirely different man. He gave him a smile.

"Looks like you're adapting to the leader role quite nicely. I'll admit, I was thinking about putting my own name forward, but once I saw how much support they were giving you...heh, doing that would've been pointless, aye?"

  • The girl chattered with her friends once more, and they had seemingly given her something nice throughout this time, in fact, they'd often present her with neat items. After this, and returning to her leader, Cierra began to tug one chainblade out of its sheath, before spinning it around in one hand. "So when are we leaving? My assassins are at the ready, for anything, of course."

The female's hair blew lightly with the wind, and it also stripped open her fur-collared shirt to some extent, exposing her cloth tee underneath, along with about 4 belts around her waist with a set of slots containing small, enclosed blades and a sharp rotor of sorts. Her posture was always, obviously lazy; her hands were either in her pockets, hanging together, or somewhere near her head. Contrasting, she was the exact opposite in combat and even out of it, sleepy and about to drop, the girl was always there, up there.
