Experiences What Characters, Archetypes or Ideas have you always wanted to give a try?

That One Cloudy Wizard
Roleplay Type(s)
When it comes to the topic of roleplaying, a lot of what becomes a driving force for me, from I've found is when the idea of a potential idea for a character manages to grab my attention, less than a setting or even a particular piece of media. I've found myself loving sharing even simple ideas, and during my time spent roleplaying around various settings and mediums, I've given several different ideas a shot both within a fandom environment and in a completely original setting. As a result I've discovered my general preferences and what I enjoy out of the characters I like to roleplay as, typically leaning towards those who are more feminine but capable - or growing to become capable, in spite of their apparent flaws.

But not everybody has all of their ideas come to fruition, which only makes me wonder, what are some characters (OC or Fandom), character archetypes or other potential ideas that you've always wanted to give a shot in a roleplaying session?

To begin, I'd like to throw down what was one of my character ideas I had!

The character I have in question is to the right here; a small town cobbler by the name of Joyce Angleton. Once the owner of her own quaint but lonely little shoe shop, she was scouted out by a travelling model and as a result of taking a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; was thrown into the big city as she then tries to make a name out of herself in the fashion world as a shoe specialist, with her talents in cobbling various footwear together.

What's notable with her is her mildly uncanny ability to try to understand another just through the nature of the shoes they wear. While she can't tell who a person is in exact perfect detail just from their shoes, something as simple as a scuff mark or the height of a heel is enough for a woman of her odd talent to have some level of knowledge about the walk of life who she is conversing with.

As a result of her being thrusted into a new environment, she's green but she's more than willing to prove her worth and stay more than afloat to impress those of whom she's working for, as a beleaguered assistant. She may be pushed around in some cases, but having a firm placement in the fashion world at the very least gives her the means to push back.

Once a simple and pleasant woman who preferred a mere pair of loafers comfortable for walking, it'll be up to her to decide to back down from her dreams in favor of her heart, or if she will adapt to the city and prove her worth as a cobbler and to show that her loafers were made for walking over those who stand against her.

But that's what I roughly have as one idea I want to give a shot and expand upon at some point!
What ideas and / or characters do you want to have come to a possible fruition?

I've always wanted to try writing a character who unwittingly gets sucked into a religious extremist group. They would otherwise be a good person, but just manipulated and taken advantage of by some awful people. Plus I think it would be an interesting character study to explore the psychological implications of basically being sucked into an extremist, even violent, cult. Of course I'm yet to do this since it's sort of a sensitive subject for a lot of people.

I've wanted to make a girl with a cute/light hearted aesthetic that turns out to be a toxic, spitfire-y mess lol. For whatever reason I've never found an RP or an FC that feels "right" for that particular character. Fingers crossed for 2023!

A super flamboyant character of any type, be it a annoyingly crazy mad daredevil, evil fickle she-diva, a bard, Super Macho Man, or a proud overzealous dragon~ Just anyone who'd be the funnest person to be but incredibly hard to work with in character.

Thing is I don't really have the guts to actually commit to a character with pure passionate impulsiveness imbued into their system, so I feel like any character I try to fit into this archetype will either come off as weak or overbearing.

Im fascinated with the idea of playong an ancient being who reawakens during an Era they don't belong to, and despite their power and intelligence find themselves utterly lost and overwhelmed by their surroundings, and forced to rely on some puny modern day person. Shenanigans ensue.
