As Kanen’s car bombed down the streets of Westbrook, music banged out from the stereo system, rattling the rear view mirror so much that he couldn’t see out of it. Not like that even mattered really, Kanen wasn’t a good example for a ‘safe driving’ anyways. He didn’t give a damn about speed limits or stop signs. Who cared? What’s the worst that could happen? A head on collision that resulted in his own untimely death? Who fucking cared.

His attitude had shifted from self pity and sorrow, moving on to defiant anger. Yeah, his mother wanted nothing to do with him, but fuck her! Kanen didn’t need her. He spent a decade raising himself, he sure as hell didn’t need some Elitist Bitch breathing down his neck twenty-four seven. Kanen didn’t need shit from anyone for that matter! He had his own money, his own car, he could get his own place in a week. Why the fuck should he give a damn about anyone but himself? Kanen could watch his own back just fine. He didn’t need anyone else to do it for him.

A silver flask touched his lips, upending and spilling it’s contents down his throat. It was a familiar burn, welcomed like an old friend. After being completely sober for nearly three weeks, Kanen didn’t care anymore. He was happy to just drink until he passed out. Just your regular night, right?

The Silver Audi screeched to a halt when Kanen pulled up to Adri’s house. He damn near took out the mailbox, missing it only by a few inches and leaving a pair of black skid marks on the street. When Kanen killed the engine, the car lurched forward after he’d left in neutral, stopping quickly when he popped the E-brake.

Kanen hadn’t even bothered to change out of his tux before coming to dinner. His jacket hung loosely over his shoulders, with his sleeves rolled up to show off his tattoos. Kanen’s eyes were locked forward, staring down Mason and Carter on the front porch. Kanen didn’t say anything as he approached, only stopping to speak when he reached the steps to the front porch.

“You two just going to stand outside like a couple of fucking squatters?” Kanen practically spat, marching slowly up the front steps with his flask hanging loosely from his hand. He moved to go around Carter and Mason and directly inside.

JJ followed Ava and took the controller from her. "Kill or be killed." She repeated her words and selected some blue chick. Rosalina or something. Psh, this was gonna be a piece of cake. It was just like her and every other popular girl in school. Juliette was more than competitive when it came down to that. Of course she was gonna try her heart out. Glancing over to the boy who had decided to talk to her, she opened her mouth to snap at him. He wasn't typically a boy she'd talk to. But this was Lonnie's family... Juliette was a bitch sometimes. But this time she was a guest, say what you want about her, but the girl had manners.

As much as she didn't want to ask for help, Juliette didn't know how to throw whatever the hell she had in her inventory. Was that a shell? What was this red thing important for? "Uh, I thought so, but I can't figure out... how to... yeah, you could show me." Glancing down at the buttons with furrowed brows for a few seconds and glancing back up to the screen. Although his skill wasn't very good as her gaze caught his side of the screen, eh. She's sure she could figure it out.

Juliette had no clue whatsoever why he had to bring that up, but she gave him the smallest of smiles and redirected her attention back to the game, not noticing the hand that was held out. "Oh. I'm not religious." It was true, she wasn't forced to go church or anything. Not that her parents ever wanted to actually do anything that didn't have something in it for themselves. JJ just... never really thought about it. Could there really be a higher power or something when everything always went so wrong?

When she finally figured out the controls, she threw the red shell towards the next person in front of her, which, luckily, was Ava. Who of course was in first place. Her smile widened as she wasn't anymore. "Ha. That's all you got Lonnie?" A few more seconds with straight determination she crossed the finish line, in first place. "Yes!" She said with a small laugh. Juliette was ecstatic. She beat Ava? The 'pro.' At video games? Not at all she was surprised she won anyway. Of course JJ wins. JJ always wins.

She threw the remote on the couch with a victory smile, and pulled the boy next to her into a tight sideways hug. What? He taught her how to throw the dumb thing, if he didn't... well, she wouldn't of got to shove it in Ava's face. "Move over. There's only room for one queen on this throne." She directed at the redhead and shot a quick wink at the boy. "Oh. Right. I didn't catch your name. I'm Jules." She blinked in surprise, and cleared her throat. "--Uh. JJ." Juliette corrected.

Jace
Wow Smile.gif

As if getting kicked in the shin by Ash wasn't bad enough, and as if this whole dinner thing and sitting next to his mom wasn't also adding to everything to make his life hell, Stu just had to swoop in. Leave it to Stu to mess his life up even more, as the wine splashed across the table and the fancy wine glass even shattered. Jace couldn't move far enough back before the wine splashed across him, along with a bit splashing onto Theo, too. Fuck. What a great Thanksgiving.

"You did that on purpose!" Jace snapped as he looked away from the wine soaking into his favorite shirt -- it was the white button down that was detailed with tiny little ice cream cones -- to glare across the table at Stu. If Theo hadn't been there, and if Jace wasn't afraid of Ryder possibly yeeting him into the table to protect the stupid freshman like he'd done to Mason, Jace probably would've thrown himself across the table for take two of Neck Tie vs. Beanie Boy.

Luckily for Stu's very chokable little neck, Theo just so happened to distract him. Jace sighed, pulling a napkin from the table to stop his shirt and pants from dripping with red wine. "I have some bigger shirts. I'm sure something will fit you." Jace said, rolling his eyes as he stood up from the table and led the way out of the fancy dining room, towards his bedroom.

"I uh... don't know about the stain remover, but we might have some in the laundry room. My room is like, right next to it." He explained, as he led the way back through the living room and to the other side of the house. It was past the fancy water wall, the nice living room, and then down another hallway before Jace finally stopped next to a small door. "Laundry room is there, and my bedroom is there." He explained, pointing first to the laundry room door, and then to the door at the end of the hall that led to his room.

Which was his first destination, as Jace headed for it. He opened the door to his room, leaving it open for Theo and then headed over to his closet to rummage through for a shirt for himself. "You can ah... choose whatever." Jace offered, gesturing towards his closet as he pulled down a different button down and stepped away from the closet to his couch, tossing the clean shirt down while he took off his poor, wine splattered, very fancy ice cream shirt.

Ash
Actual SMILE.gif

Well that had escalated rather... quickly. Ash watched as wine spilled across the table, and her brother freaked out and stormed away. Her mother and father didn't look particularly pleased, either. "Hey, good luck, little dude." She whispered to Stu, elbowing him in the side and offering him an apologetic smile before she also stood up.

"Dinner was great, but we really should be heading over to Ryder's house. Thanks so much for this... I guess." Ash smiled at her father, but didn't really acknowledge her mother as she offered Stu one more good luck smile, and then took Ryder's hand and dragged him away from the table and out of the dining room. Hell, they'd been in there for so little time that Ash hadn't even had a chance to try any of the food. Although, that was probably for the best.

Meanwhile, Elise was hurriedly trying to sop up the leftover red wine with napkins along with the help of Steve. "I do apologize for Stu's clumsiness." She said, obviously flustered over the whole ordeal. A few splatters of wine had gotten on her shirt, but it was a dark colored shirt and wouldn't even show up if it stained.

"Stu come over here and help me clean this up." Elise said, as Steve just sighed and stood up, taking his plate and heading out of the room. This was why he didn't do holidays anymore.

Thanksgiving. Most people were at home with their families, celebrating with a large meal. Jae, however, was not one of those people. He'd spent the day off from school wandering around town. First was a bookstore (which he stayed at for a few hours, lost in the aisles of trinkets and tomes). Next was a restaurant. Now, the sun slinking away behind some clouds, he was at a coffee shop.

Yawning as he entered the small cafe, Jae took in its calming ambiance. A smile formed on his face. He loved these quaint locations mostly because they were always so... charming. The people were pleasant and the atmosphere was peaceful. Originally, he thought he didn't need any connection, despite the holiday. However, as he made his way to the cash register, he began to think the opposite might be the case.

"One caramel macchiato, please," he requested, paying and thanking the barista who took his order. Jae found his way to a table, drink in hand, and took a nice, long sip, enjoying the sweet flavor. Usually, he wouldn't have coffee any time afternoon, but, after staying up late last night, he could use the extra pick-me-up.

Pulling out his notebook, Jae read through some of the lines he'd written down after drama club the other day. "What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word, and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down," he mumbled to himself, grinning goofily. It's a Wonderful Life had some of the best quotes out there, in his opinion, and he loved reciting them. Flipping to another page, his smile widened. "We are such stuff as dreams are made on; And our little life is rounded with a sleep."

Adriane
Looking Up Laugh.gif

She had been inside the kitchen with her mother and Ari, and was helping teach Ari how to bake. Of course, the little girl was covered in cookie dough and sugar instead, but she was having fun and that's what mattered most. Well, until her dad called from the other room, saying that some silver car had just shown up and almost taken out their mailbox. Confused, Adriane wiped her hands off on a towel and headed for the front door with Ari running after her.

Adriane caught sight of Kanen walking up to the front door and she hurried forward, opening up the door as Kanen tried to barge past Carter and Mason and make his way in. "Excuse me, but what the hell? Are you drunk?" Adriane asked, as Ari tried to squeeze past her leg and come outside, but Adriane put a hand down in front of her.

"Wanna see Uncle K and Carter!" Ari whined, although it was hard to understand who she was talking about since "Carter" wasn't exactly the easiest word for her to say.

"You need to stay inside for a minute." Mason responded, as he pushed his way between Kanen and Adriane, who was still holding the door open. His eyes turned from Ari to Adriane, pleading with her to stay calm. "Give us a few minutes, alright?" He asked quietly and Adriane reluctantly nodded her head, shooting one last glare over Mason's shoulder at Kanen before she pulled Ari back, who was still loudly demanding to come outside, and closed the door.

-------------------------------------

Mason
Stretch.gif

He was only able to listen to what Carter had to say when out of nowhere, Kanen's car came blaring down the street. At first, Mason thought it was just some stupid little punk, but then he realized it was Kanen's car. He watched, somewhat shocked, as Kanen started up the sidewalk and tried to push his way into the house. Mason was so shocked that he couldn't really do much to stop him, until Adriane threw open the door to yell at Kanen and luckily block him from coming inside.

When Mason heard Ari's voice, everything clicked and he pushed his way in front of Kanen, speaking to Adriane and waiting for her to close the door before he turned back to Kanen, eyes narrowed in annoyance at his friend. "What the hell? You are drunk, aren't you? I thought you were getting better? What the fuck?"

Mason knew that this would fail. Whatever had convinced him to get clean before had faded and just like that, Kanen was back to being a dickhead alcoholic that thought it was a good idea to show up. "Why are you dressed like that?" He glanced towards Carter for backup, and was praying that this wouldn't turn into some fight.

Neck Tie

drEMOoa.gif

Neck Tie reluctantly waved Ash and Ryder bye-bye. His future step-sister must have known that she was abandoning him to a fate worse than death, that would explain why she was passing him so many encouraging or rather pitying looks throughout their thanksgiving dinner.

Beanie Boy hadn’t looked too pleased when he shot up and accused Neck Tie of spilling the wine on purpose. Even though that wasn’t what happened, he almost wished that he had gotten even more of the wine on Beanie Boy and his stupid ice cream T-shirt. That shirt was almost as ugly as his beanie, but one had to admit the combination of them together were a perfect fit for his ugly face.

The first thanksgiving dinner of his life was a train wreck. Now Neck Tie was collecting the plates from the table, being extra careful not to drop anything else since he’d probably caused enough damage for one night. But it wasn’t entirely his fault. Elise shouldn’t have brought him here in the first place. The Wests weren’t his family and never will be. He and Jace were mortal enemies, and oil and water don’t mix. He didn’t know why the three of them—Elise, Dad and himself—weren’t having their own Thanksgiving back at the apartment. Ash didn’t even appreciate her coming over, calling her a bitch and blatantly ignoring her on the way out, amongst other things.

Neck Tie was again itching to check his phone, to see if Casper had replied, but one warning from Elise was enough to make him think twice. Instead he took the dishes to the kitchen and loading them carefully in the dishwasher. Elise was standing there at the sink. He kept his head low praying she wasn’t about to give him a lecture right then and there. Somehow it felt like he'd done enough over the course of the past few days to invoke her full wrath.

Alice thought that she been bored before. She had stared out into space when her parents talked about moving and losing money. Daydreamed while the teacher in Britain talked in History class. And she may or may not have been sleeping while her Science class argued about a silly topic. But this was different. This time, Alice had to stay and pay attention no matter how much she wanted to escape.
Her parents seemed to be having a lovely time, however. They were quietly talking, laughing from time to time. Alice had never seen them this happy before. She just wished that she could share the same excitement. She poked the turkey with her fork, not in the mood to eat it. Her mother gave her a pointed look, and Alice shoved it into her mouth.
After eating some more, Alice wiped her mouth quickly and stood up. Her mother raised her eyebrow, silently asking where her daughter was going. Alice didn't respond. She just grabbed her bag, slung it over her shoulder, and walked to the door. Now her father noticed. "Where're you going? Are we too boring for you?" Alice sighed. "Surprisingly, yes. And I'm going for a walk." Her father opened his mouth again, but Alice cut him off. "Don't worry. I'll be back soon."
The door slammed shut, and cold air smothered her. She scolded herself for not picking up her jacket, but she couldn't go back in. No, go somewhere else. The library maybe? The library almost made her day better. It was her secret sanctuary from everyone. She could read her worries away, and not worry about anything.
Alice looked up. She was already there. She could get so lost in her thoughts, losing track of time and place. Alice shrugged and walked through the sliding doors. The familiar sight of a high ceiling and bookshelves all perfectly in line made her relax slightly. She walked to a bookshelf containing fantasy and mystery and looked through the titles. Picking up a mystery book that was as thick as a dictionary, she walked over to a desk with a small lamp and sat down. Opening up the first page, Alice got lost in the fictional world.

Casper
Thankfully, so, so thankfully, it only took Stu a minute or so to reply. Immediately, Casper felt some tension leak out of his shoulders. He sniffled, nibbling at his lip, and smiled as he read the texts, actually laughing a bit. He was about to reply, but Neck Tie kept talking, and honestly, Casper was glad for it. All the better to distract them.

He asked him about how he was doing, and he was about to reply, but then he saw him typing a message, and waited, because that was polite, right? But he didn’t finish his thought. He tilted his head a bit, brow furrowing as anxiety began to consume him. There was no reason for it, but he sniffled.

Stop it, he told himself, He’s just letting me go first.

He didn’t stop it, starting to shake more the longer time passed, but he did reply.

Casper: Mhm! Omma’s downstairs finishing up dinner. I don't know where aaron is though :(

Then, he waited. And waited. As he waited, hiccups began to come back, then shaking and, finally, tears, though he tried to keep himself quiet so his parents wouldn't hear, though he was positive the pair was still fighting.

Senior year was quite interesting for Nikita. Being a year or two younger than everyone meant that he would stand out more. His work ethic and his grades all did that but standing out was the last thing he wanted. The only concern he had was putting his head down and working his way through his final year of high school before moving on to higher education. After lots of fights with people in his old school along with him hating virtually everybody there, his parents thought it would be a good idea for him to move on to a better school. Him changing cities to come to Westbrook was a great idea opportunity wise as the bigger size of the city would give him a lot more options when compared to the city he came from. His parents couldn't come along due to work however, meaning that he had to stay in a dormitory and take care of himself. He couldn't quite handle the many things he took for granted when living with ones parents combined with all the natural difficulties that one had to face. But such bothersome things had to be overcome.

Moving cities and beginning his studies in a new school also meant that he had a lot of work to catch up on. He had no idea how the syllabus of this school was different compared to his previous school, with him asking the teachers one by one in order to gather all of the material. Almost all of his free time at this point was spent in the public library as he did his best to study everything that was already covered, with him also taking care of his homework. Nikolai didn't really get to know any of his classmates either, with him staying away from groups of people and not approaching anybody for anything. Today was no different. After buying a cup of coffee, he went to the library, sitting down at a seat adjacent to the desks that was as far away from other people as possible. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people in that day which gave him only a seat's worth of space between the others. On one side, a guy with headphones typing away at his laptop, on the other, some random girl reading a book. He unpacked his material and began work on some physics with him occasionally taking sips from his coffee.

Alice was deep in thought and concentration until she was knocked out of her mind by someone sitting in the seat next to her. She peeked over the teenager's shoulder and saw what he was working on. Physics. Not her greatest subject, but it was still interesting. Alice looked around on the sheet, raising her eyebrows when she saw that most of them hadn't been completed. He's probably new. Oh! And he goes to the same school as me.
Alice turned back to her own book, but she wasn't interested anymore. She sighed and stared out the window. She thought about the people who she tutored, maybe they're enjoying Thanksgiving dinner. Rarely were they studying unless they were forced to. She turned her attention back to the boy and focused on the problem he was on. Before she could stop herself, she blurted out the answer. Alice immediately realized what she had done, and turned back to her book quickly. You are an idiot! You never do this at school, so why now? Oh god, he's gonna notice. Just start reading... Alice tried to focus on the book, but instead, put her head down and closed her eyes. She was certain that another person would hate her.

Nikita Romanov

Nikita was struggling with a question he was doing. He had memorized the formula that would be integral to solving the question a few days ago but he just could recall it at that point in time. The formula came to him and he was working his way through the question in his head as the answer was blurted out by someone near him. He started to write down the working and confirmed that the answer was correct, with him sighing as he was robbed of the tiny feeling of accomplishment of solving the question.

He glanced at the girl near him who was trying really hard to look like she was focusing on her book. Who is she fooling? He kept his cold glare on her for a little while longer. Nikita wanted to tell her to fuck off and was about to follow through with that idea when he began to recognize her. Although he was not sure, he felt as if he had seen her before. She did answer his physics question after all. And seeing as to how he was doing work from earlier into the year, she must be her classmate. He had to confirm this though. "Excuse me." After getting her attention, he asked in a tone that could be described as a weird mix between curious and somewhat indifferent. "Would you happen to be doing your Senior year at Westbrook?"

Alice didn't enjoy the fact that the boy next to her had noticed that she wasn't reading. She felt his glare burn into her skin, and leave her even more nervous. Of course, this never would've happened if you just held your tongue like you do during class sometimes. You already have enough people who don't like you, why add another one onto the list! There was indeed a long list of people who hated her for strange reasons, and also people who didn't know she existed.

Alice looked up suddenly when he said something to her. She was holding her breath, hoping that nothing rude would come. If something rude did come, however, she would respond politely and head home. Dealing with her parents would be better than getting a stranger mad at you. But, the question wasn't rude at all. Alice was surprised but didn't show it. "Yes, I am. And I suppose you are as well?" That was a hypothetical question. Alice already knew the answer. But she didn't want it to seem like she had been spying on him, although he probably already knew.
You've gotten yourself into a pickle.

Is being friendly with this person worthwhile? Was a thought that crossed Nikita's mind multiple times. He could treat her coldly which would get across that he just wanted to be alone but was being known as that kind of person be good for him in the long run? I'm probably overthinking it. He decided that it would be best to just go through with it like a "normal" person. Maybe him overthinking it was what caused him all his problems with the others in his old school. Who knows? Maybe she could help him out with some subject.

"Indeed I am. It took me a while but I recognized you from class. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember me though. I am new to the class. And as you can see, I am trying to catch up on all the work that you guys have already done without me." He said as he pointed towards the questions with his hand. "Although its overwhelming at times, I think that I will be able to manage with what I've seen from these questions so far."

"Which one?" He raised an eyebrow, questioning Belle about a blonde. There had been a few girls he had talked to that night, and only one that he had fooled around with, after getting rid of Charlie. He was pretty sure that she was in his history class, Audrey usually was at the games with some sort of sign supporting him. Zach knew she probably had feelings for him, but he had made it clear with her he wasn't looking for anything serious.

Zach moved away from Belle trying to poke him, being extremely ticklish himself he jumped to the side reactively.
"Don't do that." He laughed lightly, getting out of reach of Belle.

"He's pretty good at showing the girls around." Marlo smirked, starting to feel a little more comfortable around belle. "Josephine knows Westbrook better than most, she's been here her entire life." Josephine wrapped an arm around Marlo's waist. "Westbrook's drama never changes, you should hear some of the stories I've lived through." Josephine shook her head thinking of a few of the stories, and all the drama she went through.

Zach smiled.
"I think you might be right." He laughed, "But I just don't want anything serious right now." He was a teenager after all, would he really meet the one he was going to marry in high school? It was unlikely. Yea there were attractive girls at Westbrook, but he just couldn't see himself with any of them. And he didn't want to put in the time and effort it took to be a boyfriend.

Before Zach could even respond Belle had found a baby picture of Zach, he swore he hid all of these before the party started. Josephine must of noticed, Marlo was to distracted to have noticed.
"Ha.Ha." He walked over to Belle who had sat down on the couch and took the photo out of her hands. "Very funny." He rolled his eyes placing the photo back. "If you want to see anything for proof, all you need to do is ask." He smirked, raising an eyebrow.

Carter could see this day going from okay, to a shit show of a hurricane real fast. Mason was already in one of his moods on why his life sucked, and he had his reason for it. He had been through a lot more than most. But now Kanen was showing up intoxicated to Adriane's family's home, wasn't going to help anyone's case. Hell carter wished she had a bit of a buzz going on right now, to put up with Adriane's shit for the night, but she knew that wasn't how to handle it. "Kanen... What's going on?"

She could tell he was upset, she didn't expect him to have shown up so soon. Carter figured that he would of wanted to spend more time with his family, it must have not gone well at all. Carter walked up to him, ignoring Mason's look to her. Obviously she knew what his look meant, but she didn't want to look like she was ganging up on Mason. "Kanen" She looked up at him. "What happened???" She furrowed her eyebrows together. "Can... You give me that?" She reached her hand out towards the flask.

Ian actually laughed out loud when the guy said 'again'. "Again? Man, I guess I got really lucky then huh?" Then he mentioned liquor. "You really know how to have a good time. We should hang out sometime." Ian only drank on occasion but when he did it was a great time. One time during a game of truth or dare he and a friend spiked everyone else's drinks and actually started three relationships, two of which were still lasting. When the guy apologized for rambling and introduced himself Ian had a click of recognition. "You know I think I've seen you at school before Daniel. I'm kinda new. I mean I've been here a couple weeks or so but I've been uh-" he awkwardly shuffled his feet for a moment before bouncing back to his regular demeanor. "I've been laying low so to speak." he said casually. It was like he were trying to shrug that detail off, as if it wasn't kinda weird and socially awkward to not really interact with anyone.

When Daniel dropped down to retrieve Ian's board Ian was shocked. He had intended that Daniel get in his car and back up carefully so Ian could just pick it up. He was about to suggest this idea but before he could the skateboard was retrieved and the nice suit Daniel was wearing was in rough shape. "Oh shit, I'm sorry about that." he felt bad that it was essentially his fault Daniel's suit got wrecked.

As Ian took his board back he was asked if he had seen another car. He thought for a moment. "Sorry, the only car I saw was yours." he gestured toward the car and gave a joking grin. "And even yours I only barely saw. Clearly." he paused for a moment. "I don't know if I can help you with your brother, but I can help with that suit. If you want." He wasn't sure how urgent this sibling situation was, but Ian felt guilty and wanted to do right by this guy he just met. "I have some nice clothes that may be your size at my place, but if they don't fit I have cleaning supplies, and I can do a bit of sewing." Ian checked his phone to see the time. "Hell, assuming we go now, and you drive as fast as you just were-" he threw a joking wink in Daniel's direction. "-I could have you fixed up in eight minutes tops." High5ives High5ives

Theo raised his brow when Jace said he had bigger shirts that might fit him. That didn't seem very likely. He was taller than him as well as more... built. But there didn't seem to be any better options so he followed him. He made sure to follow close behind him. Everything in their house was so fancy and expensive. He was afraid to step in the wrong place in case he messed up a fancy rug. He was so in his own head that he missed Jace pointing out where the laundry room was. So he followed the boy into his room instead.

Jesus... Fucking... Christ. The boy had a damn second level for his bed with stairs leading up to it. In all his years knowing the west family he had never actually been in Jace's room. In a weird way it was just like he had imagined it. Yellow and full of instruments. Well minus the second floor. What kid even needed a second floor for their bed? Bunk beds were freaking wild but this was like a whole other level. The more he stared up at it the more he knew that deep down that If it was his room... He would have already broken his leg trying to jump off his bed onto the couch.

Theo looked over at Jace when he said that he could choose whatever. Suuure. That was gonna work. He chuckled to himself as he pulled his own shirt off, draping it over the back of the couch. "All else fails I could just stay shirtless" he joked, walking over to the closet. He was pretty comfortable with his body. He wasn't the bragging type but he did work hard to keep it in shape for sports. It wasn't really that hard to keep in shape when your best friend is doing the same thing.

He pulled a shirt from Jace's closet and slipped it on. Well it fit as long as he didn't try to move at all. So he took it off and searched through the closet until he found the 'bigger' button up shirts. It kind worked... Well he couldn't really button it up but oh well. He left it unbuttoned and sat down on the couch. "You doing okay? That Stu kid is a real prick" he frowned. Why was he even trying to grab something he obviously couldn't reach? Was it really that hard to ask for something. He was starting to see why Jace didn't like him.

Thanksgiving rarely went as planned. This thanksgiving was one of them. Tristan sighed as he tried to block out the sound of his parents yelling at his little sister. Something about her boyfriend? He wasn't sure anymore. She was always up to something that their parents didn't approve of. On the bright side it kept their attention off of him. He slipped out of his chair and out the door unnoticed by his family. There was no real point in staying after all.

He wandered down the streets of Westbrook no real location in mind. If it were any other day he might have hit up one of his 'fans' to distract himself. Sadly the majority of them would be busy with their families. So there would be now flings for him tonight. Unless he found a handsome stranger while he was out. Which was rather likely in Westbrook.

Tristan's eyes fell on a nearby cafe. Maybe the cute barista would be finishing their shift soon? Or possibly take a quite smoke break... He pushed open the door and approached the cash register. He was thoroughly disappointed to see that the charming barista wasn't working that evening. "A long black thanks" he said, handing over the cash. As he looked around the rather empty cafe he noticed a boy sitting alone, scribbling in a notebook. That would do. He took his coffee and approached the boy.

"Mind if I join you?" He asked, flashing his usually charming smile as he sat opposite the boy. Now that he could clearly see his face he did recognize him. His name was on the tip of his tongue but it just wouldn't come. "I'm Tristan" he said, extending his hand over the table. He would have to make a mental note of his name this time.

"What are you writing? Must be something special if it makes you smile that much" he chuckled. Just because it might not interest him didn't mean he wasn't interested. He liked knowing what made people tick.

Never would Jaehwa admit to jumping when a voice pulled him out from his thoughts. He nearly choked on his own saliva, so used to people ignoring him when he was out and about like this. Looking up, he saw a boy maybe around his age taking a seat at the same table.

"Oh, no, I don't mind at all," Jaehwa said, even though it was a little too late for that. He took Tristian's hand firmly and gave it a good shake. "I'm Jaehwa, but you can call me Jae." He smiled warmly. The last thing he expected was to be approached by someone. He hoped he didn't screw things up, as per usual.

Keeping Tristian's name in mind, Jaehwa quickly scribbled it down in the page margin. He glanced back up upon hearing the other male's question, mouth forming an 'o' shape. "Well, earlier I was... just reading some play quotes..." He laughed shyly. "That sounds weird when I think about it." He paused to hum, an amused but embarrassed grin forming on his face. "I may have also written your name down. My memory sucks."

Shaking off his self-conciousness, Jaehwa rolled his shoulders, trying to relieve his tense muscles. "Ah, how's your Thanksgiving going?" he asked, curious to know if it was just as dull as his was.

“Nice to see you too.” Kanen grumbled as Adri opened up the door and immediately accused him of being drunk. Tipsy? Sure, Kanen was feeling a bit buzzed, but he wasn’t damn near drunk yet, though not for lack of trying. Mason was quick to shoo Adri back inside, and then he accused Kanen of being drunk too! “Man, fuck off. Am I not allowed to have a drink anymore? It’s a fucking holiday, this is a gift from me, to me.” He spat, leaning up against the railing on the front porch.

Of course Mason asked about his clothes too. What was this, a fucking interrogation?! Kanen rolled his eyes, but it wasn’t visible from underneath his sunglasses. “Oh, the tux? Didn’t you know this is my party-crashing suit? Yeah, I wear whenever I feel like fucking up some prissy, elitist, good-for-nothing family dinner!” Kanen explained, slowly getting louder the more he talked until he was almost yelling. “Adri’s shit was second on the list, so here I am! Point me towards the dining room so I can fuck everything up! That’s what I’m good for right? Just breaking shit and making a scene!” He continued, pushing himself off the railing and stepping towards Mason.

Kanen though about hitting his friend, not because Mason had done anything wrong of course, Kanen just wanted to hit something. Before he could even make a decision though, Carter got involved, asking her own array of questions.

“What Happened?”

Kanen spun, turning on Carter like a rabid dog. “Kanen, what happened? What happened Kanen?” He mocked. His took another drink from his flask before just tossing it over his shoulder into the front lawn. “Gee, Carter. I wonder what fucking happened? What the fuck do think happened when some druggy, tatted up, delinquent showed up uninvited at the family dinner?!” He yelled. “I’ll give you a hint! I wasn’t there fucking long!”

Ava
Thoughtful Smile.gif

Ava never lost. She just never did, but Faith... she turned an angry glare to her cousin as the lap finished with their team inevitably coming in second. Obviously this had to be Faith's fault, because there was no way that Ava would've lost otherwise. Nope. No way. Not in the least, smallest bit. Hell. "Damn it, Faith." She snapped. "You had one job."

"What was that job?!" Faith whined, obviously offended that Ava would ever blame all of this on her.

"Keep JJ and Christian from destroying me. Duh." Ava replied, rolling her eyes as if it should've been obvious. Faith, obviously flustered and annoyed by this whole thing, set her controller down and stood up and walked out of the room. Ava's gaze followed after her cousin for a moment before looking back at JJ and Christian. Poor JJ. Getting stuck sitting next to her loser of a cousin. No one liked Christian -- hell, Ava was pretty sure Christian didn't like Christian.

"Rematch later, Jules. And I will run you into the ground." Ava was a sore loser. End of story. This was why she always tended to stick with the same gaming partner, but Ava hadn't really talked to Zach about that whole thing after the incident.

Christian

For a moment, Christian was just staring at the game in shock as Jules flew past Ava and got first place, followed closely by Ava, then Christian and finally, Faith. Meaning that somehow, their team had won second place. It had taken years of training and many restless family reunions, but Christian had finally beat Ava at a video game. Even if well... it was technically JJ that had won, but still. Oh my goodness, Christian had won something. What was he supposed to say?

Right, well, there was the whole thing that JJ thought he'd been talking about his religion when he introduced himself. That might need to be dealt with. Maybe he could just give himself a new name. A cooler name. Yeah. He'd introduce himself as... Justin or something. Was that a cool name? What were cool names?

Christian was in the middle of this panic when she introduced herself to him, and he realized that it was now or never. Well, good relationships were never built off of lies-- and by relationship, he of course meant as friends. Nothing more. Nope. It wasn't like she was super pretty, and Christian's cheeks were bright red as he started trying to speak. "Oh, uh... nice to... to meet you, JJ." Strange. Hadn't Ava called her Jules? Oh well. "I'm uh, Christian. That's my name. Well, and I'm religion. Hi, I'm Christian the Christian." He said with an awkward laugh as if what he had just said was actually a decent joke.

Jace
Wow Smile.gif

Jace was so wrapped up in his own thoughts that he didn't even really hear Theo at first. After a moment, his words registered and Jace looked over at Theo, a faint smile crossing his lips at his joke. "Yeah, I'm sure everyone would just love it if you were shirtless." He mumbled sarcastically before he looked back down at his shirt, fumbling with the buttons a bit. What? He was stressed out after everything, which made this difficult. After a moment, Jace glanced back at Theo. Yeah. Ash would probably love it if Theo was shirtless, if she wasn't so wrapped up in stupid Ryder. Stupid jock boyfriend that their dad liked.

He realized that he was staring, all caught up in his own thoughts, and finally looked back down, managing to get the last few buttons done as Theo headed over to his couch and brought up Stu. Jace triumphantly looked up, and paled a bit when he noticed that Theo was shirtless... well, not shirtless, but he might as well have been. Oh no. Why was he nervous about that? Guy friends hung out in their rooms with unbuttoned shirts, right? Damn it, Jace had no idea.

It was easy to tell that he was a little uncomfortable as he made his way over, sitting down next to Theo and trying to keep his eyes away from him. "Yeah, kinda. Like, I guess I'll be fine. Just kinda sucks that my mom likes him more than me." He said with an uncomfortable laugh. "Like my dad has always liked like... any guy better than me, like Ryder." Okay, so mainly Ash's very manly stupid boyfriends. "But I dunno... thought my mom always had my back, but I guess not."

Jace didn't want to talk about this. Anything but this, and every time his eyes went back to Theo, his thoughts returned to that conversation with Grace. So he continued to glance over and then look up at the ceiling, or out one of the windows at his petunias that had recovered from being rudely attacked. "Thanks for ah... coming. I-I was worried that like... I dunno... my mom would bring her boyfriend, and... and my dad would have someone, and like... Ash and Ryder obviously, so I was worried that I'd be like... dateless." He paused, a huge blush coming on his face. "N-Not like... kissy smoochy date, like... friend date alone."

Belle shrugged her shoulders. "Who said anything about something serious? Girlfriend. Boyfriend. The words don't mean anything really. The whole idea of relationships is just something we made up. So who says you can't adjust its meaning to fit your needs?" she said. For a few moments, she didn't say anything as she let what she said to sink in. Then she blushed darkly. "I just got all philosophical, didn't I? Oops" she laughed, brushing her hair out of her face.

She ran her thumb over the wood of the photo frame. Baby photo shoots were one of the few things that she was glad to miss out on. Well, she did have them. Hers was just a lot more strict and less fun than his. "Heeey" she pouted as he took the photo from her. "I was enjoying that" she smirked. Oh, she was so going to take a photo of that before she left. Ooo maybe Josephine would have a copy laying around somewhere. Now that would be great.

Belle raised her brow as he suggested proving her wrong. She pushed herself off the couch and walked over to him, standing a little closer than nessacary. Oh, he wanted to play this game? Alright, she would bite. "You really wanna prove me wrong, huh?" she asked, trailing her fingers up his arm. If he had any sense he would realise she was about to mess with him. Then again... What kind of man could resist a pretty girl playing to their ego? A smirk found its way to her lips as she quickly moved her hands to his side, tickling him.

"So you want to use provocative sentences on me hmm?" she smirked, not letting up on the tickling. She had made a mental note earlier when she saw him flinch away from her. Oh, it was so fun to find people who were ticklish. Sure, she was quite ticklish herself but she wasn't going to let him know that. Deciding that he had enough punishment she stepped back, shoving her hands in her pockets.

"You're far too easy Zach" she laughed, sitting back down on the couch. He was so going to get her back for that. But it was so worth it. It's not like she would be as easy as he had been. Hopefully. Who was she kidding she probably would be.

Mason
Stretch.gif

Well, that would explain it. Fucking hell... Mason didn't have the patience to deal with Kanen's sorry ass attitude today. Instead, he was just bitter, mainly because he'd tried so fucking hard to get Kanen clean, and again, it was for fucking nothing. He'd ditched Raven to go help this sorry sack of fucking uselessness! And for what?! Here Mason had tried his best to extend some kind of fucking olive branch, and he'd thought maybe things had changed, but Kanen just slipped right back to normal.

He watched as the flask landed in the front lawn, probably empty, and his dark eyes turned back to Kanen. "Fucking suck it up. You can't tell me that you thought it would be a good idea." Okay, so maybe this was uncalled for, but Mason was pissed that Kanen had shown up like this at all. "It fucking sucks, but it fucking happens."

"Now get the fuck out of here, Kanen." Mason snapped. "You're causing a fucking scene and I will not let Ari's Thanksgiving be ruined because you decided to show up here like some selfish prick." With his back still to the door, Mason could faintly hear Adriane gently talking with Ari, trying to calm her down while the little girl kept yelling. She probably wanted to come out and see Kanen, or just look out the window and see what was going on. Fucking hell.

Mason had no idea if Carter was going to turn on him, although he wouldn't put it past her. He knew that he was somewhat out of line here, but god damn it, why did Kanen think he had the right to show up here like this?

Theo frowned slightly as Jace sat down beside him looking uncomfortable. Had bringing Stu up been a bad idea? Should he change the subject? Shoot. What was something that Jace would enjoy talking about? He could ask him about his music maybe? Then he started talking. It was too late now all he could do was listen and hopefully make him feel better.

Wait... His mom liked Stu better than him? Who could like a little rat more than someone as great as Jace? That was... Wait. What was a strong enough word to express his feelings? Oh! Blasphemy. His mother liking necktie more was blasphemy. He listen intently as he expressed his feelings about feeling less liked by his parents. That was bound to be a difficult thing to deal with. Theo wasn't sure what he would do if his mothers liked someone else more than him. Parents were supposed to love their kids unconditionally. This just didn't make sense.

He smiled softly when Jace changed the subject to... thanking him. "It's not a problem really. Zach was bringing a girl over for Thanksgiving so it would have been weird spending it with them" he explained. Part of Theo wondered how it was going for Zach. He didn't think that he had ever brought a girl over for an event like ever. It would be interesting to find out how it went later.

Theo chuckled as he rambled off awkwardly, trying to explain what he meant with a dark blush on his face. "I know what you meant" he smiled, draping his arm along the back of the couch, his fingers lightly brushing against Jace's back. "As for what you said earlier. I like you the more than anyone in this house. Just don't tell Ash" he said, flashing a charming smile. He moved his arm so it was draped across Jace's shoulders and gave him a small hug. Nothing was more comforting than a hug, right?
