  When Ashlynn was born, it was almost a miracle. Her parents had been trying for a long time and were ready to give their hopes up when Ash happened. Obviously, she was the only child and the miracle child her parents prayed for. Therefore, they were exceptionally caring and made sure their little princess had everything. Well, everything they could afford to give her. They barely belonged to the middle class, with dad being a mechanic and mom stayed at home to take care of Ash. It was safe to say the couple was struggling a lot.
  
  Ash grew up in one of the darkest parts of the town. Street fights, gunshots, screams and yelling were nothing unusual here. But at least the dangerous streets taught her how to take care of herself, made her self-aware and confident that she could do anything she wanted. Especially this one event. Ash was coming home from school but stopped at her friend’s house so they could write the homework together. As she was on her way home, it got dark outside and almost at the gate of her house, a man appeared in front of her. She was still a small child, not older than twelve back then. The pervert already had his grubby hands on her when a voice cut through the air and SHE appeared. Until this day, Ash does not know who she was but she was a total badass. A girl clad in leather, dark makeup, real attitude. She told the perverted fucker off and knelt down to Ash. “Never…you hear me, little one? Never let them bastard walk over you.” she spoke and gave Ash a wink, disappearing in the dark. She was just an ordinary woman but to Ash, she was a hero.

  Woman’s words stayed with Ash for a long time. Daresay, forever. The older she was, the more attitude she was showing and decided to take the world by the storm. She never had a lot, came from the bad neighborhood and was also known for not being the nicest to deal with. But instead of trying to change who she was, Ashlynn embraced her persona and did everything in order to become like the woman that had saved her all those years ago. She was not exactly the brightest crayon in the box but she knew hot to get things done. Cheer squad helped a lot. It was not all effortless, she worked her butt of trying to jump higher and scream louder than all the other girls.   College was not easy either. She tried to combine studying her business major with cheerleading trainings but it was harder than she thought. Not that she would ever give up. But this was a bit higher league now and no one was swooning over her jumps and screams. When she tried to study for her exams, her cheer practice was suffering. And when she tried to focus on that, her grades dropped to the point that she realized she needed a lot of extra credit. One of the professors even called her to her office and laid it out for her. Either she was going to join another club for extra credit or she was not going to pass. And that was exactly how Ash ended up joining a college showchoir. She was a good singer, better than good. However, no one ever knew because her focus was elsewhere.     Bio:
    Juliette was born two years after her brother, Romeo. He started going by his middle name from a young age, so that's what she's always called him. From her infancy, she developed a love for music, and if you ask anyone who knew her at that age, they would say she sang before she talked. Almost as soon as she could walk, she was following Romeo around, running after him and his friends, wanting to be just like them. Though he was the first to torment his little sister, he was also the first to stick up for her. As far as he was concerned, no one else was allowed to touch her.
    
    When she was about nine years old, both of their parents were killed in an accident. Juliette was in the car with them, Romeo being at a friends house. They were going out because the nine year old wanted ice cream, and no one saw the drunk driver headed their way. He hit them head on, killing her mother instantly and knocking her father out. Although Juliette was young and doesn't exactly remember everything, she still has flashbacks and nightmares surrounding the incident.
    
    Things became more difficult for her. She withdrew into herself, and spent most of her time in her room with the door shut. She and Romeo were sent to live with their aunt, who was a good decade younger than their mother and never interested in having kids. She was devastated at the loss of her sister though, and didn't want the kids to go into foster care, so she took them in. She was always more of a friend, though. Jules wasn't interested in making friends, not even in school. She just did her work, kept her head down, and didn't talk to anyone unless she had to.
    
    

    Things stayed the same during high school as well, especially after Romeo graduated (barely) and left for college. She truly felt alone with him gone, but she was too proud to admit that she needed him. So he partied hard in college, and when she found out he was on the verge of failing, she decided to apply for the same school. She got in, and spent the first year basically fixing his fuck ups and making sure her own grades stayed up. It was actually Romeo who convinced her to join the glee club with him, because he needed the extracurricular credits.   Laurel is a kind and friendly young woman, but whether that is because she actually likes people or because she has to be nice to survive school is debatable. She puts on a pleasant demeanor, but keeps her true feelings close to her chest. She has tried a bit of everything once, and as such doesn’t really have her own niche. However, a love for music has been a constant in her life. With a strict father and Bohemian mother, Laurel is well versed in following rules just enough to stay out of trouble, while breaking them enough to have fun without getting caught. She is good at keeping secrets and often finds herself a shoulder to cry on due to being “Switzerland”. She does have a solid sense of justice though and doesn’t let others push her or more vulnerable people around.
  
  Laurel does not often judge people, and actually admires anyone who knows who they are, even if they live an extremely different lifestyle from her. She is stereotyped by others as an Army Brat, and others often believe she is more refined than she is. She is not an outcast, as she is able to make friends everywhere she goes, but she does feel like a misfit and has an unsettled soul.   Laurel is an Army Brat, with her father’s work keeping her family constantly on the move. While her father is strict and regimental, her mother has a bohemian spirit. Despite being the complete opposite of one another, Laurel’s parents get along quite well and have done their best to raise well balanced children. Laurel was born a year after her parents were married, before they were really ready for kids, but they were still excited to raise their baby girl. They waited a while to have their next child though, and Laurel’s brother Rowan is 10 years younger than her.
  
  Laurel has never spent more than two years in any one town since she was a baby. This has allowed her to travel the world, but sometimes she wishes she could have lived in one place. She has accumulated many pen pals over the years, but no best friends. She lived with her father, mother and younger kid brother until recently moving out on her own for college. There is a lot of love in her family, but Laurel isn’t very open with them and doesn’t often share her emotions with them.
  
  Having attended three high schools, Laurel was looking forward to going to college, since she thought it would be the first she could attend one school from start to finish.     Bio:
    Romeo was born Thomas Romeo Zabielski, two years before his younger sister, Juliette. He was perfectly content being the only child, so at first when she came around, he wasn't happy with her being there. In fact, he was quite mean to his younger sister, especially when she started walking and would follow him around. Still, she was his little sister, and he eventually came around and even grew very protective over her. Of course, that didn't mean he wouldn't torment her, and he took his role as his brother seriously. And if that meant tripping her or hiding around a corner to scare her, he'd do so.
    
    Both siblings were heavy into music from a young age, though his tastes darkened some as he grew older. He was around eleven years old when tragedy struck them. He was too cool to hang out with his parents and his sister, so he went to hang out at a friends house. He was halfway asleep when the police came knocking on the door, and he was escorted to the hospital, where he was informed that his parents were dead but that his sister was alive. He knew from that moment on that he really was her protector, and that moment in time changed them both.
    
    He lost interest in school, though he kept his grades up enough that he could just barely graduate. He got in trouble alot during those middle and high school years, but their aunt was never a disciplinarian, because she'd never learned how to be one. She was definitely more on the friend side, and her lectures were always just talks at their kitchen table while she had a beer. She wasn't parent material, but that didn't mean she didn't care. Wanting to actually make something out of his life, he decided to leave for college, unaware of the torment his sister was going through back home.
    
    

    She started at the school his junior year, though technically, he was repeating his sophomore year because of credits. He's still far from graduating, and was informed that for the degree he was going for, he needed some extra credits in the form of extracurriculars. He decided to join the glee club because it seemed easy enough, though he's definitely not interested in showtunes and musicals. In some respects, Emilia should be more of a brat than she is. She's considered acting bratty before but decided against it, as the end result would not be favorable for her. The truth of it is, Emilia doesn't want to be left alone. Her parents have done so far too often for her to be okay with it. However, she doesn't want to bother anybody with what she considers her problems, so she pretends everything is fine even when it's not. With everyone she meets, she's exceedingly friendly and kind--the epitome of a perfect fairy tale princess. She hopes that by acting this way (which is fairly natural for her anyway), she'll be able to keep people near her. If she plays her cards right, maybe she won't end up alone again. In some respects, this means she may come across as overly optimistic and chipper, or even clingy. Of course, she's not trying to be that way, but she fears the consequences if she doesn't.

When in an auditorium or music classroom, Emilia almost seems to do a 180. She's far more confident, and sometimes she physically lets her hair down. At times like these, she lets herself get angry, be snarky, but mostly she just feels free. Music helps her feel less alone, and so she values it almost as much as she values human companionship. Unfortunately, due to her devoting pretty much her entire life to her music, she can get perhaps possessive over what she sees as the only good thing in her life. This is where a true selfish "brat" may come out to play, but she really does try to keep it under wraps. Really, so long as she gets to sing, she'll be fine... right?

BiographyIt's not that Emilia's parents were bad at being parents. But... they certainly weren't good at being there.

Emilia was born into a typical rich and well-off family, but with one caveat: to stay that way, they had to work all the time. Often, Emilia was left in the care of a nanny rather than her own parents, and it made her feel rather alone. They thought that they could make it up to her by buying her everything she ever wanted, but unlike your spoiled rich kid, she felt... empty. She just wanted to be held and assured that she mattered to someone... but her parents weren't going to give her that anytime soon.

Being alone at home made her afraid of being alone all the time. To "fix" this, Emilia took to befriending everyone she could at school. She became quite popular at school, thanks to her brilliant blue eyes and cheery smile. In some ways, she was still empty, but at least she wasn't alone. And if she played her cards right, she didn't have to go back to an empty house every day. So she kept up the façade, making sure not to impose herself too much or cause trouble for anyone else. There was barely any room to breathe sometimes, but it was worth it. Or so she told herself.

Sometime in middle school, she truly discovered the performing arts. Her middle school's choir needed more people, so she joined on a whim. She realized she loved it and that she was good at it, and so she continued it through high school, joining other performing arts programs at school and in the area. When she was on stage, she felt free. She was allowed to let loose and release everything that was pent-up, such as annoyance at something a friend said to anger at her parents for barely giving her the time of day. Music was the only thing she could truly rely on, so it was pretty obvious that she would end up choosing a career in performing arts and theatre.

Corkwood University required that Emilia join at least one extracurricular activity, so of course she chose the glee club. It was a no-brainer. And if Emilia has anything to say about it, it's going to be the best damn glee club out there!

  AJ had some plans after graduation. Not that they were relevant and money-earning, not at all. But those were -his- plans. Being a football player for the whole high school career, AJ really thought it was going to take him far. Yet, daddy dearest had a different idea. After losing one son, AJ’s older brother Theodore, to a medical field, he was determined to force Arthur to be the next in line for his business empire. He insisted that AJ went to college but the young boy would only do it if he could choose his own major. And Oscar Wright has, once again, made sure to find a loophole. He presented AJ with three acceptable majors and AJ clenched his jaw, choosing the effing political studies just to spite his father because that had the least to do with his father’s business.
  
  Arthur was basically devastated because it was nothing like he wanted to do. Political studies sucked and he really didn’t want to go there. It was boring and extremely dull, the exact opposite of what AJ was used to. His own life style was extremely fast paced and never still and his father wanted him to calm down. AJ hated him for it and he even hated his older brother Theodore to leave him there like this. It was never him who was supposed to take over the family empire and he based all his life on being the younger son. Theo was the brainy son and AJ was the wild child.   Thank god, Corkwood University had a decent football team at least. Naturally, AJ became a part of it as it was means for the boy to ease the pain he felt over being forced to come here. Football consumed most of his time and AJ was not against it. He was not exactly thrilled about hours spent over the books and so he preferred trainings so much more. The football team was incredible, all great players there, winning national championship after national championship. Those guys were the university royalty, protected by the dean and basically everyone. However, their grades started to be shitty and they needed to step it up, everyone said so. Their coach decided that he was going to solve it once and for all and all players were required to keep the B average and pick up an extracurricular other than football. That was how AJ ended up in glee club. Well, that and the fact that he left everything to the last minute and everything he wanted to join was not accepting members anymore.
  
  It was there where AJ realized that his voice was actually quite good. He was not the best but could sing. And not just a part of the choir, he could even hold a solo. Not that it made him excited to hop around the stage and sing musicals but it at least kept him his place on the team. It was harder to keep that B average and took some serious reassessment of his free time but football was always his passion and he needed to keep it. Whatever his father was saying. And then, he would never admit that singing was kind of making him happy. Wearing costumes and jump around with the other?   Background: In all honesty, Jullian has lived the typical teenager life. At birth, Lian was thrown into the world, right into the loving arms of Danny and Josie Aevitas. The three lived a happy family, but as Lian grew and matured, the costs of living for a family of three also grew. Eventually, both parents had to take jobs; it wasn't the ideal situation, but at least they could get by. His life back then wasn't without love, however. Even though his father had to travel and his mother was gone for almost the entire day, they'd still join video calls with each other during lunch. His father had taught him at a very young age how to handle a tablet, and boy was he surprised when the kid picked it up nearly instantly.
  
  Lian sped past the baby and toddler stages, eventually entering school. The kid did great throughout kindergarten and middle school, but high school is where something clicked. It was in computer class, the day they learned about coding and the technicalities behind the everyday applications that they used. Lian would analyze every single piece of code that he could find online, with the primary goal of understanding how it all works. Back then, he had no other device except a really worn out tablet that was way past its death date. As a solution, Lian also took up an internship as a radio deejay/technician with the local radio to slowly save up for a laptop of his own.
  
  Much to his surprise, his parents were divided on the idea of letting their son work. His father argued that he himself was working hard enough for his son to have an easy-going life, while his mother argued that he was old enough to make his own decisions and that life won't always be easy-going. This started an endless feud between the two, resulting in Lian's father spending less time with family and more time working. Poor Lian's just stuck in between the two, trying desperately to mediate between his two parents. Marco's multicoloured emotional spectrum - effervescent joy, crippling nervousness, inconsolable sorrow, incandescent rage - is about as easy to make out on his face as it is spotting fresh unicorn tracks in downtown Brooklyn on a foggy evening after somebody just punched you three times in both eyes. His serious expression is so unfathomable that one wonders if the reason language came into being was because humanity was just trying to come up with a way to read the intentions behind those motionless features. He holds himself with a steady posture, dresses smartly in crisply ironed shirts, and while not unattractive by conventional standards, is by no means a face that draws a crowd. His thick eyebrows, forged into a position of total neutrality, and his brown eyes that appear deep and thoughtful until you realise you've just been staring into your own reflection in them for the past five minutes (does this man even blink?) are a testament to his impenetrable facial features. His dark hair is always well-groomed and his lightly-tanned skin indicates that Marco spends a fair amount of time outside - and that's about it. At a glance, he is a well-built young man whose sharp looks might turn a few heads, but there is almost no way into what goes on behind that unreadable gaze. The chances are fifty-fifty as to whether he's proving the Riemann hypothesis in his head or deciding whether to have wedges or fries with steak for dinner.

On the outside, Marco is a modern-day Renaissance Man; he is studious, polite, and goes about pretty much everything he does seriously, and when this is combined with his prodigious talent in almost anything he tries his hand at - be it academia, sports, or arts - he can come across as a highly unapproachable individual. His lack of words, calm expression and curt way of speaking can come across to some as rather mature, if not straight up cold and distant.

In reality, Marco has a desperate yearning to make friends which is at odds with his debilitating fear of messing up during social interaction. His tendency to keep to himself is not due to arrogance but because he is shy, and his lack of words is actually due to him thinking of dozens of possible things to say to contribute to a fruitful conversation but due to his social inexperience he ends up not knowing which one is best. Even his overwhelming competence at everything was due to his motivation to be an older brother which his sister Emilia could be proud of, and his love of music comes from his desire to fulfil her own wish of becoming a Broadway actress.

There are parts of his personality which are shared across both 'sides' of his demeanour - once set on something, he is unswervingly single-minded in achieving it in the most effective and efficient way he deems fit. On a darker note, under his desire for forming deeper relationships with all of his peers lies a limit to his goodwill. If the rare and unadvisable situation comes about in which someone has managed to agitate him enough to crack that last layer of patience, common sense is laid aside and all of Marco's ingenuity, athleticism and intellect will be channelled into coldly dismantling the target of his anger.

Marco was born to the wealthy DeLuca family who had built up a successful business in real estate. The eldest of two children, he grew up with the distant image of his high-achieving parents on one hand and literally the most adorable younger sister Emilia on the other. These two elements would be the main factors which led to his own devotion to excellence - the best way for him to be his parents' son was to be his sister's brother, and the best way to be his sister's brother was to be indisputably competent like their parents, so that she would always have someone to look up to with no reason for shame.

Fortunately, this came easier to Marco than most, as he was found to be gifted in almost every area of his studies. When he was seven, he was picked up for a scholarship for an all-boys' prep school in the UK where he topped test results, was a starter for the rugby team, and won national titles in piano competitions. Wishing to focus on making his sister proud, he made the painful decision to spend his holidays abroad so that he would not be distracted, and as a result rarely came home to see his family. His studies paid off and he was admitted to a top boarding school for his secondary education where he continued to flourish, as his overwhelming talents began earning him unwanted attention as 'Marco da Vinci'.

This moniker, though perhaps flattering at first glance, was in fact intended as a jab at a number of things - his Italian heritage, his reputation as an arrogant upstart who looked down on everyone on account of his academic and sporting successes, and his apparent lack of interest in the opposite sex, implied by the fact that he did not pursue romantic relationships (despite being so-called 'Mr Perfect'). The root of the problem was, in fact, not arrogance or sexual preference, but that Marco simply knew only how to study, and was terrible at interacting with others. This, however, only exacerbated the problem, and led to his being harassed by a group of boys in his boarding house for the duration of his two years at the new school.

This was resolved in a tale which ended up following Marco around for the duration of his school life - though the exact details changed, the basic story went that there was a verbal exchange between Marco and some other boys near the end of the summer term, which ended in the former being beaten in his bedroom. After the summer holiday, there was another exchange, involving a demand for an apology for something that had been said (some retellings mention remarks made about his family), in which Marco got suspended for violent conduct and recommended for counselling, while one of the boys involved ended up transferring to another boarding house. There were rumours that he had spent the entirety of his summer with his ex-Marine uncle, which sparked more rumours in turn. In any case, people just left Marco alone after that.

Just before his fourth and penultimate year at school, Marco was called by his childhood nanny who was about to retire and was concerned about leaving the state of the DeLuca family as it was. She revealed to him how lonely his sister had been feeling, but also how she had now managed to find some semblance of solace and purpose in her love of musical theatre. Marco went into temporary shock as he realised that he had long since become the very thing he did not want to be - a 'bad brother'. Desperate to make up for his mistakes, he decided to dedicate the rest of his hours into preparing the way for Emilia's new dream. No longer would he go into things like politics or literature or science or economics - that was for people who didn't have younger siblings that were growing up too fast - he was going to ensure Emilia's Broadway success if it was the last thing he did.

Marco decided to move back to the US for college so as to begin laying down the foundations for Emilia's path to the professional stage. He specifically chose Corkwood University because the college show-choir had a history of being 'old news', having failed to reach any measure of success in intervarsity competitions for many years now. If there happened to be a star who managed to take the glee club to victory for the first time in a decade, it could be the perfect springboard for that aforementioned star's career. That would be the debut stage for Emilia DeLuca.

In his freshman year, Marco got involved in almost every possible kind of vocal group, gathering both contacts and experience as a singer in musical theatre clubs, a cappella groups, church choirs, and of course, the glee club. His sister entered the university in her sophomore year, by which point he had earned a sufficiently high reputation to have some manner of influence over the direction of the glee club. With this, he called in masterclasses from professional singers and choreographers, suggested gigs for club members to get stage experience and worked overtime to rearrange songs tailored to their particular strengths. Now, after a year of preparation, Marco deemed Emilia and the glee club to make their competition comeback. Two years quietly and surreptitiously watching over and cultivating the glee club would not be wasted as long as they got their moment in the sun.

Also, his grades were, as usual, top of the class. What could go wrong?​
