Nik | Death City | DWMA

There was so much going on, so much to see. The interaction with Nicho was delightful.

However the person that walked into the field, had been captivating. As Nicho had commented about the uniform choice in clothing, Nik had spotted a blue-haired queen in spandex.

There were somethings that required observation, seeing to believe. Nik's eyes could not help but follow as he watched them interact with the eyepatched young man.

Brows went up, elbow went to Nicholai's side in a gentle nudge. "Vse li amerikantsy odevayutsya tak... svobodno?" (Do all Americans dress so...freely?) The hint of a mischievous smile working its way onto his face. Of course in his tone, there was jest. The touchiness that his friend informed him of, was naturally something to keep in mind. Best not caught staring and all or who knows what would happen. However before he could go further with that line he'd just dropped, play into something along the lines of a casual flirtatious bit in how good Nicholai himself was looking, Nik felt something odd as someone else walked on to their grand stage that stopped him cold.

It was the appearance of another soul. One that burned from the warmth in the air he felt as the individual walking into the field, twins at his side, approached the older sibling of the blondes, the one with the eyepatch. Nik could not help but feel the oddness in the feeling this particular soul unleashed into its environment. There was something...off, about this person. Something different. What was it though? Of what he could not tell.

Focusing his senses though, Llew, had given him the answer. Eavesdropping on the conversation without even having to be there to do it.

So the blue one in the tights is Rue? I see....so that guy is Marcus, huh?. He recalled the name clearly. A descendant of the Rungs. The noble Meister who'd had his life taken so quickly in the heat of battle; Luna had updated him at least on what had happened here to some degree. The incident and the ones that had suffered the worst casualties even if all the details were missing. Perhaps that explained the heat towards the young man Grace was currently having an altercation with.

Things only took a turn when another fellow joined in on approaching the white masked meister who seemed slow on the draw here. The face was recognizable, and the name came to mind instantly. "That must be Sozen," Nik said to Nicho. As he turned his attention away from Marcus' group, to focus his senses on their altercation. And what an altercation that was becoming. While Nik stood not far from Nicho, distracted more at what was going on the animosity towards one guy was palpable, literally. Nik could feel the disgust, hate, annoyance, fury, and aggression that emanated from all those involved in approaching John. Like waves on the beach they washed over him with their distant vibes and it was only through practice in maintaining a perfect pokerface that he didn't show his distaste at having to deal with the load everyone was dumping at the exact moment in time.

Had Cain not said something sooner, Nik certainly would have. This was getting to much like back home for him. He had just been about to make a move when Cain stepped forward and intervened, calling individuals out for their actions. As things became steadily more heated- Nik had expected a punch, J's intrusion to the tension however, was what ended up giving him a warning to Stein's action.

Honestly, he hadn't been sure what to expect when he saw that. Stein holding her partner to Cain in a clear threat. It made the surprise on his face fade away into a sigh.

It didn't take a genius to figure out clearly that he was tied to last year's student's trauma. The mask had been a foolish fashion choice. Idiotic entirely. The response most were giving while understandable, really didn't show a good sign to him in their states of mind. How long had Luna said it'd been? Just a few months, three or so? Not long at all. Hardly long enough to grieve and heal or deal with all the emotional baggage. He could understand that considering some of the friends he'd lost back home against the renegade group of monster's they'd had to hunt.

But for both of them to do that? His eyes lidded as he observed the neutrality that wafted off Stein versus the bloodlust from Takeshi. Nik could only shake his head.

Speaking to Nicho, the only thing he said as he watched Cain continue to defend John, was: "Maybe I had my hopes a bit too high in this place." Then he smiled, at least genuinely. "But hey, I'm glad you're here at least." Patting Nicho on the shoulder as he said it.

Thankfully, the Lord supreme rose. And with a command they were all beckoned towards his call.

Well, that was that.

With Lord Death having explained things, and the professors adding into what they were to do with the tension squashed, Nik found no reason to continue wasting time. Patting Nicho on the shoulder gently, he flashed his buddy a silent grin and nod, "I'll see you later" he said in their native tongue. Then moved on to trying to figure out who would be his partner.

"Honestly would have been easier if they just directed us, but I guess that's not how things work here." Either way, it hardly mattered. Searching his memory for the current partners to scratch people out- Nik began going over the Weapons here so far. Rue, was probably out. Disappointing. Who else? Yang was out.

Nik hmmed. Having not actually moved that far away from Nicho and instead was just staring aimlessly in one direction as he went through faces that had blue name tags.

"Guess, I'll have to wing it." Turning to Nicho as he began stretching Nik revved up is wavelength. "Oi, Nicho, wanna race? C'mon, for old times sake. After all what is nothing but competition between good friends, dah? First person to find their partner has to buy dinner for the whole group. We start on 3. 3-- " He was already gone. Like a bullet, grass kicking in the air. Nik bolted straight towards a random Weapon. He weaved passed anyone in his way with skilled clear leaps right over their heads and then did a flip, rolling over with the momentum as he took off again. In the span of just a few seconds. As he moved, his eyes landed on one Weapon he'd seen with the giant named Akron earlier. From what he could hear there was already a conversation going on. Nik, slowed down- a race may have been what he challenged Nicho to but at the very least, he could refrain from being rude while doing it and interrupting conversations. Though he would've liked to flip and land right in front of her, like a surprise appearance from a random NPC, he refrained. Darting around them instead with a wide breadth so it looked like he was going elsewhere. Instead he was just looking for another target. The interest in going after Rue or the redhead with horns, both of whom he recognized generally already having their partners was there.

It was tempting. Luckily, the three seemed to finish their conversation as he tuned back in.

Excellent.

Turning his run around into cartwheels, then backflips, with a twist and leap, Nik flipped right over Lacey, Kimmy, and Lia all in one overdramatic backflip- landed- and without even looking winded or tired, said: "Bonjour," the redhead gave a short bow, the accent vanishing completely when he said it. "Tis mine pleasure to meet all three of you." The Slovakian accent noticeable now, his eyes moving across each one with a friendly, noticeably sharp fanged smile. "If you do not mind, might I request the chance to see if you" his hand out to Kimberly, "might be my Partner?"

Now that he was actually in front of her, it was quite obvious the difference in size. Nik was pretty certain that he was nearly a full foot taller than her- but compared to the actual giants here, it probably didn't matter. Either way his hand waited, his smile patient.

It was a simple request really. If Kimberly took his hand Nik would instantly pour his wavelength into her when she transformed. If she didn't, he'd move on. After all he had sort of just jumped into the end of their conversation and Nik was quite aware of that. But- he'd ran all this way here already. Nicho might already be ahead of him for all he knew.

Good thing he had plenty of cash to splurge. The bright sides of the Ferri's giving him an allowance with his stay here.

Rue Sivogn

Everything had been going quite smoothly, given the trauma that she knew swam amongst the group she was standing with. Obviously the twins were spared those memories. Thankfully.. Rue thought to herself, retrieving her hand from Akron’s unsteady grasp but still offering him that same warm smile. She’d noticed the flinch but didn’t dare question it. Everyone had their reasons for responding to people in certain ways and as long as it wasn’t a violent reaction, there was no reason to interrogate the armored man before her. Maybe he simply didn’t like physical touch in which Rue felt a small pang of guilt for putting him in a position where he felt pressured to return the handshake. While it was an informal greeting, one her parent’s would be giving her a stern talking to about, Rue was determined not to treat her classmates or friends as if they were citizens of her kingdom. Simply because they weren’t. That etiquette was unnecessary here and that made the girl feel all that more free. Marcus’s change in demeanor caused her head to turn quite quickly. The transition from his normal carefree attitude to the twisted look on his face made her step forward but she stopped to watch the twins soothe him.

It was strange at first to see two little girls being able to bring Marcus a sense of comfort that she knew nobody else would ever be able to offer him. They were already being thrown into the world the students of the DWMA lived in and instead of being scared, they stepped up immediately to be there for their meister. No, he was much more than that to him, anybody could see that even if they didn’t know the trio. Rue stood silently for a while longer, shifting uncomfortably. It felt weird to hold herself back, that growing urge to help a friend in need growing like a wild weed. Her expression softened once she saw Marcus shake it off, his promise to explain later only eliciting a nod in response. Truthfully, Rue wasn’t sure she needed to know any of the details. Simply knowing he was alright was enough for her.

"Prin-er, Rue."

Rue’s gaze snapped over to Llewellyn’s face and she blinked a few times, clearly taking a bit longer than normal to register his request. He then extended the offer towards the half armored weapon and Rue mulled it over, acting overly dramatic as she lifted a finger to her cheek. A loud hum left her lips before they pulled themselves into a sly grin. “ Sure, Llewellyn, I’ll always make time for you. “ She admitted, eyes widening slightly at how readily she blurted that out into the open. While it was true she would clear her schedule for those close to her, doing everything in her power to find time to spend with them as long as it didn’t dig into her other responsibilities, it made her feel a little vulnerable to confess it. It also didn’t help with how extremely personal it sounded. It did bring her an immense amount of joy to train and be in his presence but she wasn’t convinced that it was entirely mutual, at least for the same reasons. Maybe she was a step in his rise towards the top and she’d be okay with that in the end. Selfishly though, an emotion that was newer due to J’s corrupting influence, she didn’t want to be just a training dummy. She found herself craving for more which was unsettling and she’d only just started to question whether this was her partner’s doing or her own seeds blooming that she had buried within her. “ Feel free to join us if you’d like, Akron. How are you on ice? “ She inquired, head tilting as she slid her hues upwards to peer at him.

The whole situation behind them warranted a few glances from the azure haired girl but she didn’t intervene, nor have any thought of doing so. The teachers were there to step in if needed and it would seem they didn’t feel the need to yet. Only when J appeared, his arm mirroring the traits of her weapon form as it rested upon her shoulders loosely, did she rethink that. If they’re not involved soon, I’m sure they will be… especially with J here now. He’s going to eat this up. Rue sighed audibly, not bothering to retract from the hold her meister had on her, though it was certainly more than just physically. Nobody really knew that nor would they understand it. Heck, she was still far from understanding why she had even agreed to this perpetual dance with her partner but she’d found herself reaching out that night on the beach. Now, they were ever moving, constantly twirling, swaying, pulling, and pushing.

After a few quips from his sonic speedy mouth, playful as ever, he had disappeared with an invisible can of gas within his hands that she knew he had every intention of dousing the altercation with. “ There he goes… “ She said in an exasperated tone, pushing her palm to her forehead in disapproval. While she didn’t always back up J’s antics, she didn’t exactly actively try to stop him either. The weapon knew better. J’s train had been derailed but it would never come to a halt. Not ever. His personality was a colorful example of the juggernaut, barreling through every obstacle that he faced or slid himself into. Soon the twins started exclaiming things, their fangirling expressions and words making Rue smile a little. They truly were innocent but Rue knew they’d adapt to this world well, especially with Marcus there to protect them. “ Elvena definitely knows how to make an entrance, huh? “ She lowered herself once again to the twins' level and watched with them, as if there were fireworks going off in the sky. “ I guess that guy is lucky that she’s the most level headed of us, otherwise she might… “ Rue’s voice dropped into her best creepy impression, those fingers moving in front of her for added effect. “ Cut him open and play her own real life game of operation. “ Her lips twisted into a smile immediately after but the arrival of Lord Death made her cut her playful attitude off like a candles flame being purposefully snuffed out. She came to a stand and turned towards the head of the academy, giving him her unwavering full attention. His words left a solemn expression to remain plastered on her face as she was once again having to think about the ramifications of what everyone had gone through, even John included now that his story was a bit more clear.

Then he was gone, his disappearance aiding in lifting a pressure that had wafted about in the air while he was present. She let out a breath that she’d been holding and turned back towards the group, feeling at a loss when it came to what to say next. She had a partner so Ikora’s demand of those unpaired going to try and find someone to complete their own pair didn’t apply to her. Llewellyn however did not have a partner this year, another sour subject for him she was sure. While the details had been spared, she knew he didn’t end up that way of his own volition. “ I believe it’s time for you to try and... “ Rue’s words were cut off as she looked down towards the ground, desperately frantic as her thoughts tried to find some way of saying the next words that wouldn’t come off as hurtful or remind him of his previous partnership. Her brows furrowed, clearly struggling with this. “ …. I.. “ Any form of words that came to mind hastily slipped away as if the tide of her thoughts reclaimed them as soon as they came. Even so, while some things were extremely hard to say, Rue knew she’d be put in this position again in her life. This was just the beginning of having to say things that couldn’t be said delicately. “ It’s time for you to find a meister. I look forward to seeing who you pair with! Just be lucky J is already taken or you might have been stuck with him. “ Rue did her best to smile with that usual warmth but on the inside she was choking on every word, feeling insensitive and cruel despite her attempt at softening the blow to the best of her ability. She offered Llewellyn a reassuring glance, frame only slightly leaning into Llewellyn’s as she nudged him in an attempt to get him moving.

How does it feel to be back, Marcus? You… definitely bulked up over the Summer. I never asked but do we have Elvena to thank for that? “ Rue felt the tension that had built up within her slowly dissipating, albeit too slowly for her liking though. She went quiet though and smiled in greeting towards the newest students walking up to their group, the look on the face of the red head clearly giving away what she was staring aghast at. It was the same look one had when thinking they were looking at a ghost. Rue had a feeling that this would be the response quite a few people had when they spotted Marcus. Granted her own reaction would've been vaguely similar, except Rue would have thrown in a slap straight to his zombified face for withholding such important information from her, even if he didn't feel it. As much as she wanted to greet the pair who had joined them, this seemed like a more intimate moment between comrades/friends and Rue felt it best to remain silent while it played out.

Nicho could already see that his old friend eye had started to wander towards Rue, and her clothing choices that provided Nicholai point about Rather free looking outfits and well she certainly was pretty so it just made things worse. “Da they do it is eeeh sports wear” Nicholai replied with a small smirk. His attention was pulled away by Marcus rubbing his eyes he couldn’t believe it, was it a hallucination? no it wasn’t there was a soul there with the male.. a very different one.. but it was blurry and hard to get details at least for Nicho… oh and then the poor Russian got a bit startled by Akron being there he hadn’t noticed him until he ended up sensing that aggressive soul of his. “kak, chert voz'mi, on voobshche tak dvigayetsya, kakogo khrena” (how in hell does he even move like that what fuck) Nicho mumbled under his breath. Shaking his head a bit he’d nod to Nik when he asked if one of the other new arrivals was Sozen.

oh and then the situation with one of the other masked guy escalated a lot…extreme hostility towards he guy Nicho understood totally why he had a striking resemblance to one of the people that had caused a lot of pain for many of the students his masked having gotten cut off with the bladed form of takeshi hovering near the man’s neck. another of the new students getting in the way to defend them. “Lot of eh lingering issues form eeh what I know more then one this sort of kidnap happened, no detail tho.” Nicho commented when Nik mentioned hopes being a bit too high for this place. “And you too my friend you too” he Responded in a much more cheerfully tone. Before lord death grabbed everyones attention to explain the situation to everyone.

Once everything had been cleared up a pat on the shoulder for Nik again grabbed Nicho’s attention giving the other miester a nod signalling “you too“ as both where instructed to go find there partners, well everyone not paired up was. Nik pausing to comment on the lack of directions involved. “yes eeeh less discipline more go with feeling Wing it is best motto round here” Nicho commented, just before mention of them racing to find there newest partners a massive cheesy grin Forming on the boys face. “Aah sure” as soon as Nicho responded Nik was already off with the cost of dinner hanging in the balance. The silvery haired well dressed Russian suddenly change in a small flash into a large silvery 9 tailed fox, with the same heterochromatic eyes. before darting off with a surprising turn of speed like a silvery floofy streak. Bouncing and jumping off objects and tables as he moved. And bouncing off the chest of one of the newest class giant’s torr because he just so happened to be perfect for reversing the rather light Nicho fox in the direction he intended. Suddenly halting near Izuma, whom he knew was Akron miester the girl he was talking too had the aura of a weapon so perhaps she would be free?

With Lord Death arriving, Cain had transformed his bladed arm back into its normal guise, the blonde haired demon weapon dusting himself off as he thought back to John's backstory. A tragic story for a tragic soul. Clearly he had his own issues to deal with, his own sordid past that had inevitably moulded him into the person he is today. Just like the ones who jumped onto him were victims, so too was John; a victim far longer than any of them had been at the hands of the infamous Nightmare. Yet, without even beginning to consider the possibility or given a chance to explain himself, he was once more victimized by the people he probably had much more in common with.

What was the saying?, Don't judge a book by its cover?. Ha, these students had made a mockery of that. Actions spoke louder than words and their actions spoke volumes so loud that it was almost deafening. So much so that Cain didn't feel the need to retort to Yang's obvious playground attempt to rile him up, she had done more than enough to make herself look a fool in the eyes of Cain. He'd simply be taking the role of 'bully' away from them if he were to focus his attention upon her now that things began to unravel. The benefits of doing so sadly did not outweight the time or effort he'd need to spare in order to do so anyway, though that didn't stop him from making a mental note of her being a prime target to ridicule should the opportunity present itself again.

Instead, Cain merely gave her the cold shoulder and turned his attention towards the approaching headmaster; music to Cain's ears as his points were reinfoced by the man himself. Had even the slightest of thought been put into 'Why John was allowed here in the first place', then maybe the opening day's ceremony could have started on more amicable terms. Alas, what's done was done and the end result is what appears to be a rift between several of the new students and several of the old. Not much Cain could do about it at this moment and it wasn't exactly like he was planning on waltzing over to them now and pretend like nothing happened. They made their choice to start the orientation with animosity, it wasn't down to Cain to clean up their mess.

With everything said and done and Lord Death laying down the rules, Cain had managed to make his way away from the group, stopping next to John momentarily as he placed a hand on the back of the formerly masked meister. Cain had been through this process of finding a new meister several times already, the reasons for doing so varying yet always following the same step by step procedure. By now he had sort of gotten a feel, a sixth sense as to whether or not a meister would be suitable or not with him.

Cain was not shy when it came to voicing his expectations and standards when it came to meisters; the demon weapon known back home for being quite the 'picky' partner; though it wasn't always for selfish reasons. Motives and intentions of the meisters to be were always a vital aspect to consider but ultimately it always came down to whether the partnership 'felt right', and unfortunately it just didn't seem to feel that way between John and himself.

There was little doubt in Cain's mind that John would turn out to be quite a formidable meister. It just wouldn't be alongside Cain. Beyond the potential for becoming quite good friends during their stay at the academy, the paths they were travelling seemed to diverge at different junctions.

"Don't worry about it" replied Cain, pocketing his hand once more. "I'm sure you'll find a partner today. The good thing is, its probably someone who won't be quick to pull the trigger and jump on your back." added Cain, as he glanced around at the others who had remained uninvolved with the recent fiasco. "I doubt its possible for even more people to systematically hate you on the first day... and even If I am wrong... you can always come cry on my shoulder" winked Cain, before smiling and walking away from the group.

"Good luck!" he raised a hand and half waves, his back facing the meister. Besides John, the others in close proximity were giving him an ill taste in his mouth.

Location: DWMA Courtyard

Izuma smiled as he shook Katerina’s hand. “The pleasure’s all mine.” Upon closer inspection, he noticed the young girl’s clothes seemed to be of foreign origin. Perhaps she was also not from around here like he is. Out of all the classmates he has seen so far, Katerina was less intimidating. Perhaps it was the height difference between the two, seeing how he was slightly taller than her. It was a bit polarizing to talk to someone without looking up everytime, but it was a nice change of pace. Before he could say anything, he noticed the commotion in the middle of the courtyard. Most people were gravitating toward one particular student, Their looks seems like they saw a ghost and then turning to the masked man. He couldn’t overhear the conversation, but it seemed that they were angry with him. Izuma wondered why they were angry with him even though it’s only the first day. Hell, the school day hasn’t even officially started yet and drama already started.

The argument seemed to escalate to a point where Lord Death in all his glory came to the courtyard. Izuma just stared in awe at the presence of a literal god. He was sweating nervously as he stood there in a daze. Once Lord Death left the courtyard, Izuma snapped out of it and sighed a breath of relief. He has never seen Lord Death in person, he’s only read about him in a few books. So this was a bit of new experience for him. He quickly turned back to Katerina. “That was…interesting. At least it didn’t end up turning into a fight.”
He chuckled nervously. “So, Anywa-AAAH!” Before he could say anything, he got caught off guard by some fox creature. Izuma felt like his heart was going to jump out. He had never met any animals back at his home and was understandably freaked out a little. But then again, this school has towering giants and people who think that wearing a onesie under armor was a fashion statement, so foxes and other animals shouldn’t be weird to him at all. “Are…you lost?” Izuma said while catching his breath.

So they always say the start of a new school year was a chance for a fresh start right? Decompress what you went through the year before, grow stronger from it and move on?

Yeah well whoever considered those words to live by never spent a semester at Death Weapons Meister Academy! If you managed to survive the last traumatic event you had little time to rest before the next one came at you with a vengeance! If those last two didn't physically or mentally scar you, well don't worry cause third time may be the charm! Gwen was finding the whole ordeal straight up exhausting and its only been a single year since she started attending this madhouse! Has it only been a year? She felt like she aged ten just from the grueling trials and tribulations that had bombarded her, her first partner, and her current Meister.

The duo had only just returned to their dorm in Death City the day before and Gwen found herself restless, unable to sleep the entire night because the next day would be the start of the new school year. With it would signal the resumption of the battle against evil and the personal quest to reach Death Scythe status to help Cami's former partner Alcross. Though when Gwen went to get Cami that morning....she was legitimately worried with what she heard.

It broke the young speed demon's heart to hear Cami's private mental breakdown behind closed doors...

That last mission they went on together....dammit! Did any of this ever get easier?! They had one successful major victory but it just kept feeling like they were on the losing end of this equation! That had to change! If this kept up Gwen wasn't certain even she could keep Cami's spirits up. When the girl emerged from the door, she pretended to not hear the Meister's internal struggles and offered a smile instead.

"Cami..." Gwen began seriously, sliding up to her partner and lightly poking her in the cheek. "You don't need to lie...I know you just wanted to doll yourself up so you look nice for all the new boys and/or girls that will be there today. Don't worry. I'll send some your way if I find any real hotties." It may not solve the lingering issue, but distracting Cami with the surprise jab of romance may at least take her mind off things.

Though that didn't help Gwen's mind when it came to the Dark Irina.

If you ever wanted to hear Gwen sound like a distressed mother for her child just listen to her when she drove her car these days. Or if you wanted to hear her swear like a sailor to her enemies for hurting her child...see the previous statement. Despite repairing the extensive damage done by the Kishin, the engine was still suffering issues. A horrible grumble radiating from its block instead of the proud roar it once held that caused the once fierce racing machine to rattle and shake every time they went into a higher gear. Gwen feared the worst that she'll be forced to replace the engine she once built with her Granny Irina.

So by the time the duo had arrived at the DWMA, they had missed the opening speech and were just able to bear witness to the fresh faces yet to be scarred by this crazy school. Though at least there were plenty of familiar faces they could-

Wait.

Hold up.

Hit the brakes and honk the horn!!!

"Yeah....yeah I'm seeing it." Just like Cami, Gwen was rushing over to the man who should have already crossed the finish line in the race that was life. It was impossible, improbable, and Gwen dared to call it; inconceivable! While Cami was simple standing next to him asking in bewilderment if Marcus Rung was in fact alive...

**POKE**
**POKE**
**POKE**

"What sorcery in the name of the fuel injector system is this?!" Gwen was moving about Marcus poking him to confirm his existence on the mortal plane and not some spirit or hallucination brought on from a muffler failure in the Dark Irina. Then after leaning her face in next to his and poking him on the cheek like a scientist examining an experiment her eyes widened and she threw her arms around his neck in a tight hug. "Markie it is you!"

Elvena Stein

__skadi_and_skadi_the_corrupting_heart_arknights_drawn_by_nizi_w__sample-22c5527f3c35ac9ee618f...jpgElvena’s lips began to move as she echoed the words, “ Barbaric excuse of a sword? “ aloud. That head tilted as she deeply mulled this over, remembering vividly all the images of scythe forms from her research. There was even the photo of her grandfather wielding one of the greatest death scythes whom had attended the DWMA, Spirit Albarn, a true intricate and beautiful weapon. There was even Soul Evans, a relative of the boy standing between her and John, whose weapon form was also aesthetically pleasing. Elvy’s head tilted the other way, the long screw-like object that was protruding out of her wild strands now completely vertical. While his wavelength was completely intriguing, a rare and unique one that she had never come across until now, she couldn’t get over the color of his weapon form. It was unpleasant. “ Your blade looks like it's coated in piss. “ She said softly, expression still completely unreadable and stoic. There wasn’t a lick of jest or animosity behind the words, it was a simple observation that she decided to make audible.

John began to speak and she brought her attention back to the male, those red candy apple dipped eyes staring straight through him. The more she heard his story the more vacant the meister seemed to become, eyes also void of emotion. Indeed, there were many similarities between the two. Like Elvena, he’d been tortured by his own father. A parental figure whom one was supposed to be able to look up to and be protected by. Instead, they needed to be protected from them. It was utterly depressing to say the least and if Elvena was capable of being moved or touched by such stories, this would be one of the times she was. Alas, her inability to function or process those emotions were still lost on her. A broken cog that refused to work properly despite all the work she’d been pouring into becoming more ‘human’. After he’d finished telling his tale she stood there unmoving, seemingly mimicking the nature of a gargoyle. There was a lingering silence that continued as she formulated a response, blinking rapidly as if this was shaking off the statuesque demeanor she’d just adapted.

I wasn’t aware trauma was supposed to be a competition. Whether the scars are visible or not, I believe what everyone endures is a testament to the hardships they’ve had to face. To my knowledge, trauma, while devastating, is a way to help people connect through shared experiences. I’ve formed some of my strongest bonds this way. You may have survived but you’re bent and broken. Let me be perfectly clear, I’d never look down on someone for that, I’m incomplete myself. However… I can see the blood stained on your soul, the growing number of humans you’ve murdered without any rhyme or reason. Those are not your father’s actions, they are yours. If you continue on that road, you will find only foes waiting for you. " Elvena paused for a moment, face actually showing a hint of surprise and confusion. " End my suffering by killing you? You misunderstand. I do not hate you. I do not loathe you. You mean nothing to me, you do not even stir my soul. I am simply pointing my blade at someone on the verge of becoming what I am trained to rid this world of. “ Elvena’s tone didn’t waver from its more hushed one as she continued to hold eye contact. Even when Death appeared, the overwhelming wave of his soul clearly pouring into the courtyard, Elvy still didn’t break her gaze free from the other meister in front of her. Once Takeshi transformed back into a human at Death’s request, Elvena positioned herself to stand in front of him, completely eradicating the cliché that a weapon was supposed to protect their meister. Takeshi was more than her weapon and she’d sooner descend into hell if it meant it would keep him safe.

Death began to address everyone, explaining the situation to the best of his ability. Elvena knew it would bring little comfort to some while painting a clearer picture for others. She remained silent, wondering why he had left out quite a few details, but she knew better than to question the intent there. “ Since Lord Death has cleared you, I will refrain from further action. Find a better path before you reach the end of the one you’re on. “ That was all she had left to say, a hint of advice that was laced with a certainty. Her gaze slid over towards the weapon boy who was sauntering off to a different part of the courtyard. Arrogant, cocky, ignorant. She thought to herself, mentally reminding herself to jot that down under the character profile she’d begun on him when she was up on the candle and observing the newer students. Hime let out a chiming laugh within the confines of her mind, leaning back against the wall of their mental head space. They say your wavelength speaks volumes on your character. I guess his is pretty straight forward since it seems to stem directly from his personality, wouldn't you say? You can't blame the guy for lacking the skills to see what he's actually looking at. He pretty much judged him by his cover. Hime's face contorted itself into an eerie grin as she conversed with Elvena. The diluted gray haired Stein peered again towards the Evans who was exiting the scene and nodded once in response. Takeshi was dragged along by a hand, fingers deathly cold and curled about his wrist. The two soon appeared directly behind Akron and Elvena reached her free hand out, clutching onto the fabric of the onesie covering his arm. She tugged slightly, trying to garner his attention wordlessly.

Grace remained her guard in front of her partner; regardless of her feelings and the turmoil of the moment, she had reoriented herself with her mission. Body tensed and ready at even the slightest show of movement, her eyes only looked to Cain ever so briefly; in another state of mind, his words might have driven her over the edge, but now they were practically nothing. They were high-minded, but blind, the words of someone so far up in the stratosphere that they had lost all touch with the world; someone so far up their own ass that they could no longer see the sun.

"...You must be the biggest idiot alive," Grace said openly, staring at the boy for only a moment more before immediately looking back to the masked man. Before she could say or do much else, the twinge of approaching souls reached her senses--and they were just as angered as Sozen was.

The ensuing clash forced the meister to squint, raising a hand briefly to guard her face and eyes as a meister-weapon pair descended from on-high, cutting the mask cleanly in two only for the trajectory of the falling blade to be stopped in its tracks by the know-nothing boy. Grace's gaze narrowed further as she took in the boy's face. His words only did so much for her; he spoke of torturous routines and hurt suffered at the hands of his father--yet here he was, sporting and defending the man's legacy as if it were some rare jewel.

"If that makes you think we're gonna pity you, then you and banana-boy over here must be sharing a single braincell," she said flatly, her mind now entirely steeled against the situation. She wasn't dealing with a threat, just two different flavors of moron. Nothing she hadn't seen before.

Even then, it took a little prying for her partner to drag her away from the confrontation, tugging at her arm as the girl finally relented, nearly stumbling off after Yang as the two made their way to the edge of the courtyard. Though her partner had displaced her from the standoff, her mind remained; for the entirety of their walk toward the nearby exit to fetch a teacher, Grace remained entirely silent, her face stuck in a subtle glare as she stared off in the direction of their destination. It wasn't until a sense of sudden, overwhelming pressure shoved against her sixth sense that she snapped back to reality, stopping before the two could reach the door as none other than Death himself opened the door.

She realized, in hindsight, that it only could have been him anyway--it hadn't been the first time she had felt such a presence, yet her mind had immediately jumped to alternative conclusions all the same; perhaps she had not conquered her earlier fears as thoroughly as she had thought. She glanced down, noting that her hand had instinctually grabbed her partner's lower arm. An unwanted, unprompted show of protective fear; even now, her mind seemed prone to revisiting darker times. "...Sorry," the meister said, slowly letting go of her partner's arm as Death strode past them, making his presence in the courtyard more potent as he began to address the others. Her mind still in a state of retreat, their headmaster's words only partially reached her. So they had a reason for keeping the boy here--fine. But that had nothing to do with his open acceptance of his father's actions. If he was nothing like his father, then he wouldn't have copied him. There were actions, and there were intentions--however many platitudes the teachers and even other students could offer, the boy's actions stood in direct contrast.

And yet, leave it to Lord Death to try and get everyone to get along anyway. Grace clicked her teeth. God or not, she just couldn't buy it.

Slowly, she looked back to her partner. "You okay?" she asked quietly, one hand retreating to her pocket in a quiet bid for self-comfort, "sorry I kinda...lost my head for a minute. It was...stupid." The other reached up, slowly pushing some of her hair upward, only for it to flop right back into place over her forehead and eyes. She glanced out at the other students, mingling amongst themselves and meeting both new and former partners. She felt briefly relived that the teachers had seen it fit to pair her up early; treating their soul-searching like a little meet-and-great mixer seemed more than a little awkward. It was only then, looking over the rest of the field, that she finally had the chance to notice a familiar, yet changed figure. Her hand and jaw briefly clenched, relaxing quickly afterward. More ghosts out of the woodwork; others seemed to have quickly swarmed their resurrected friend, but Grace herself was not nearly as enthusiastic, remaining planted right where she was. Marcus--as cheery as he was amongst his fellows once again, cheating death with the blessing of the Shinigami himself, Grace could only think about how she had failed his family in other ways. Quietly, she looked away.

Despite the perfectly still exterior Akron presented for the moment inside we bubbling with a anger that oh so wished to lash out. Only with the commanding presence of lord death did it crawl back into the depths of Akron’s soul. Giving reason as to why this “John“ person was even here.. and setting out some ground rules for them namely not skinning the almost monster alive. Though Akron knew full well that without Elvy intervention Takeshi would have cleaved the boys head off. As Elvy wasn‘t one to hold a grudge nor was she exactly capable of it. An arm slowly rose to touch the temple of the helmet he wore letting out a shallow sigh so as to refocus upon the conversations around him. prior to his noticing of John, Llewellyn had extended an offer to train on the weekend Akron gaze slowly shifted to look at the once butler like boy as he considered the offer and was about to decline when Rue Again spoke a sharp clinking noise emitted form the plated parts of Akron body as he swiftly and suddenly snapped it attention to Rue giving the princess his undivided attention, she too suggestion he join them, Akron was left internally screaming but no discomfort showed on his exterior Rue had been utterly baffling to him.. he could hardly read her intentions and he didn’t wish to make the wrong move. if she went to the effort of speaking to him clearly she expected he’d accept the offer right? Taking a short breath in he’d close his eyes. “I do have some free time I don’t see why not.. as for ice, I’m.. Fine with it” Akron replied in the same flat tone as always. Though the princess had also made some comments about Elvy and for some reason Akron felt the need to respond though he wasnt sure why perhaps to clear up any possible misconceptions? “thats only if she wants to be seen making an entrance.. otherwise you wouldn’t know it” Akron commented not really looking at anyone in particular but it sounded a lot creepier then intentional due to his tone.

More arrival soon showed up but it was easier to tell who it was Gwen was one of those people you heard before you actually saw them. Today was no real exception so obviously that meant Camilla wasn’t all too far behind. The excitable speed demon was.. ok in Akron’s books.. while he didn’t fully trust her in a Meaningful way ..he at least didn’t have to worry about any overt hostility from her or hidden meaning… after all she did help in at stopping him for fully slipping into madness during the groups escape from that lab complex. And currently she was poking Marcus to see if he was real prompting a short sharp exhale from Akron. “morning Gwen seems you will have your hands full now Marcus” Akron commented before stepping back away from the Group a little bit from the gathering however he only managed four or so steps back.

When a feeling struck him.. it was hard to describ exactly what it was but the feeling was something deep down a sort of connection that meant even with Elvy’s lighting fast and stealthily approach The partly armoured boy was able to “sense“ her in that weird way. halfway spun around already before Elvy had begun to tug at the fabric, fully turning to face his dear friend the perfectly statue like moment and stance changed a somewhat more looser and average stance like his joins had released the hand break on them. head tilting down to look at Elvy subtle shifts in tilt of His head and stance totally unnoticeable to anyone who wants the silvery haired girl before him, the best friends wordless greeting and acknowledgement of one another. Knowing Elvy, Akron expected the recent Interaction with John was the reason she wished to talk. otherwise she’d almost certainly still remain upon her perch gathering a profile of the new arrivals. his curiosity would most certainly be satiated in a few moments anyway.

  • As he was dropping from his perch and transforming into his weapon form, the original plan had been for Takeshi to end the masked menace and be done with it, consequences be damned. But, at the same time, there was a reason that he had transformed beyond simply ensuring a safe landing, and that was to give Elvena herself a chance to decide on the course of action. So when she leapt after him and grabbed his weapon form, he immediately understood that she wasn't aiming to kill, not at this moment anyway. And while that upset him, he was willing to follow her lead, though not without a little internal grumbling from Ryu. And so as they landed, and Elvena swung him to remove the mask from the arrogant filth that stepped within his presence, Takeshi noticed two things. One, a yellow haired fool had stepped up to try and mitigate Elvena's blow, something that he had no chance of doing, and Takeshi was content with letting him get run through as a punishment for stepping in when he had no place in doing so. But it was the second part that changed everything, and that was an overwhelming presence targeting him for a split second. And though it was no longer than a brief moment, Takeshi knew who it was, and what exactly that second meant. And so, understanding the warning that was given, Takeshi exerted all his strength to pull blow the power of the blow, not out of fear, but the knowledge that, if they went through with the swing as is, they wouldn't be able to deal with the consequences as is. So instead of the yellow-haired weapon suffering an injury of any sort, he was simply pushed back, and still his partner accomplished her goal of removing the mask from his face. Takeshi took the time to slowly reign in his madness and bloodlust as Elvena spoke, keeping his attention on the people around them. And even as the yellow haired annoyance insulted him and his weapon form, as if he was any better the oversized farming tool that he was, Takeshi stayed his hand and his presence, aware of ever-present gaze of Death at this moment.

And then the demasked figure began talking, began addressing Elvena, began trying to compare and make draw similarities between them, and Takeshi had to use all his willpower to drag back in the surge of frothing rage that stemmed from Ryu. He spoke of his own struggles as if they meant anything to Takeshi, as if it excused his attitude, as if it excused how he presented himself, how he related himself, the pride that he clearly held towards his heritage, the subtle acceptance of his father's actions. It angered Takeshi, but he still held strong, and let him continue. Elvena, of course, responded enough for the both of them, addressing both John and Cain, doing enough to slightly appease the anger of Ryu, allowing Takeshi to get a better grasp once more. Then, Death finally showed himself, and at his subtle command, Takeshi grudgingly returned to his normal form, hands resting on the hilts of his swords, and a disapproving and displeased stare boring at Death. And as Death spoke, his stare grew heavier and heavier, frown transforming into a scowl, and the burgeoning desire to just let go of his grasp on Ryu increasing with every moment. But he pushed it down, silently brooding to himself as Death finished his speech and disappeared. Takeshi took a small, visceral thrill in the dismay that John went through at the realization that, contrary to his claims and desires, he does need a partner while attending at some point, and that he made an enemy of many of the people around him.

Then, snapping his gaze onto the figure of Cain as he retreated from the situation, his gait and demeanor clearly portraying his belief that he had some sort of moral high ground, and that he was somehow intrinsically superior in any of this, Takeshi couldn't stop himself from calling out, the bare licks of his Madness blossoming at the behest of Ryu. "Pathetic, weak puppy. Cease barking, know your place." Then, with a derisive snort, he turned away and let Elvena drag him off, the presence of everyone around him out of sight and out of mind. If his partner no longer cared, then neither did he.

When Sozen had intervened in the confrontation between Yang and the masked student, he had done so extremely impulsively. He hadn’t expected many other students to get involved in the dispute, so it was much to his surprise when all at once it seemed the entire E.A.T. class had inserted themselves into the exchange. What had been an argument among four students was now the focal point of the entirety of the students gathered in front of the academy.
Shortly after he’d stepped in between Yang and the other student, the sound of Norja’s voice caught Sozen’s attention and he turned to see her commenting on all the other students around her. It was obvious, even to someone unaware of the semantics, that she didn’t quite grasp the seriousness of the situation or why he and the other two had been so upset at the sight of a mask like the one worn by this new student. He couldn’t exactly blame her though. The events of the facility raid were still painfully etched into his memory, and he’d chosen not to tell her any specifics of what had happened on that day.
While Sozen was preoccupied watching Norja, Grace stepped forward to put herself in between Sozen and Yang. Behind him, he felt the chaotic pattern of Grace’s wavelength slowly settle back into a calm rhythm. Grace shot back a retort at the masked student, and Sozen might have smiled just slightly, in spite of himself, had it not been for the arrival of yet another new student. Like Norja, he seemed to have no grasp on the gravity of the circumstances, however, unlike Norja, he’d chosen to take a very active role in the events unfolding, in contrast to Norja’s more passive interference.
“You probably shouldn’t comment on things you don’t understand, golden boy,” Sozen retorted as the blond student remarked on him and the other two “ganging up” on the masked student. “If you’d actually been paying attention, you’d have heard him very deliberately declare that he does, in fact, have a very direct connection to the reason for this whole confrontation”. Before Sozen could offer any more of a response, he was interrupted by the arrival of yet another student, this time a familiar face he actually recognized: the ever eccentric and esoteric J. J went on to chastise first the blond student and then the masked one, going about doing so in his usual ineffable way. Sozen considered cutting back into the conversation, but something about J’s demeanor gave him pause. There was a certain malevolence behind J’s ostensibly cheerful demeanor, and while Sozen wasn’t quite sure what exactly that meant, he got the feeling it was best not to get caught in the middle of it.
Sozen was right to be wary of the immediate events to come, but he’d misjudged who would be the source of such events. Elvena and Takeshi descended upon the group with an attack aimed straight at the masked student. The exact intent of Elvena’s strike would remain unknown as the blond haired student made the rash mistake of “blocking” Elvena’s slash. Sozen couldn’t help but scoff audibly at the sheer and utter stupidity of the blond student’s decision to try and stop Elvena and Takeshi. Frankly, he was lucky to have emerged unharmed after blindly going up against one of the strongest partnerships in the academy.
Despite the fact that the blond student had seemingly blocked Elvena's attack, that didn't stop Elvena from pushing the blade forward and severing the straps holding the mask that the other student wore. Sozen watched silently as the mask clattered to the ground with Elvena declaring the student irredeemable as she kept her blade pointed at his neck.
Things were beginning to get extremely out of hand, and Sozen decided that it was probably best for him to step out of this confrontation and let the others handle it as they seemed to be far more enraged about it than he was. He made his way over to where Norja was standing and let out a sigh as he reached down to pet one of the wolves. "You realize you got these backwards, right?" he pointed out as he took the name tag she'd made for him and stuck it onto the front of his shirt, even though he very much didn't care. "I guess I owe you another apology now too, don't I? Sorry for flying off the handle back there, Nor".
Before he could say anything else, an ominous voice echoed out, addressing the students. The voice was unmistakable to Sozen and he immediately recognized it as Lord Death’s. Given how much of a clusterfuck the situation in the courtyard had devolved into, it was essentially a given that the academy staff would intervene, but Sozen hadn’t expected Death himself to make an appearance. Sozen kept close to Norja as the two of them joined the rest of the other students gathering around Lord Death in the center of the courtyard. He listened intently as Lord Death went on to address the students gathered around him. From what he could understand, the academy staff had known from the start that an outcome like this was likely to happen, which made him wonder why they took so long to respond and diffuse the conflict. It didn’t exactly bolster his confidence in the staff to say the least.
Once Lord Death was finished with his announcement to the students, Ikora gave an announcement of her own, instructing the students to pair up and form a partnership if they had not done so already. This obviously didn’t apply to Sozen and so he stood off to the side with Norja, absentmindedly petting Skoll’s head as he watched the unpaired students milling about as they tried to find partners. His relative tranquility didn’t last long as J soon came barreling over to Sozen and Norja, immediately pouncing on Hati.
“Oi! You could stand to at least ask before throwing yourself at an animal that doesn’t belong to you J”.

Ferra and Torr both remained fully silent while Lord Death spoke, they were both fairly sure that no one would be foolish enough to interrupt the man before he finished speaking. And neither one of them wanted to risk things on their first day here either! That was...until she heard J rather foolishly outright booing Lord Death. It was surprising he hadn't done anything to reprimand the student, but perhaps he was in a good mood? She wasn't sure but there had to be some sort of explanation she wasn't quite seeing.

Overall, Ferra did feel kinda bad for John herself. Though he didn't exactly seem to try and do anything to help matters himself, it was understandable to a degree as he was the one that was approached first. On the other hand, it did seem the rest of the students had a valid reason to get as angry as they did. Somewhat anyway. Even more when Lord Death truly explained the reason behind their actions. While Ferra nor her tall companion had been affected by it personally they had heard a bit about what happened, it was likely most had, though no specific details other than something really bad went down.

Ferra let out a gentle sigh and relaxed as Lord Death finished what he had to say and vanished, relieved now that the imposing presence was no longer around. It wasn't that Lord Death was a bad person, no, he was just pretty damn scary to be around with that aura he gave off! "Ooh...This is gonna be fun~" Ferra spoke excited for the exercise even if she didn't know just what it would be yet. Whatever it was it was sure to be fun! She blinked when Kimberly suddenly headed off to get paired up, the girl smiling brightly and waving. "Byee! Cya later! Hope you get a fun partner!" She called out. She was pleased to of already made a friend and they'd just arrived! "See? I told you, people are nice. Unless you're that guy apparently." She spoke patting Torr on the shoulder. "She did seem nice..." Torr muttered watching as Kimberly left them. He too hoped that she would get a partner that would treat her well.

It wasn't too terribly much longer that Camilla arrived, Ferra looking over briefly. She had to admit, no one here was unattractive in the slightest. Not that her fellow student's looks were the only thing on her mind...it was just hard not to notice such a thing. At the very worst 'average' was an applicable descriptor, and even then it was in a good way rather than a bad way. It seemed two students were inclined to race to pick their partners first, or at-least Nik challenged the man he'd been talking to. Ferra was just about to approach one of the groups to introduce herself when Torr was used as a springboard by...a fox? Admittedly, Ferra hadn't been paying attention to Nicho transforming so she had absolutely no idea what was going on. Poor Torr shouted in surprise as the fluffy creature jumped off him and stumbled back a bit, eyes wide underneath the mask. Nicho jumping off him had truly been nothing but a mere soft poke to the giant of a being but it was still startling. "What the hell was that...?" He spoke in a calmness that betrayed his surprise. He stared off to the furry creature that approached the other students yet didn't act once it was clear that it wasn't harming anything...yet. "I dunno...but that's kinda freaky." Ferra spoke.

Understandably Izuma was just as caught off guard as the Weapon and Meister had been by the fox creature. Who wouldn't be? "C'mon let's investigate." Ferra insisted, tugging on her partner's arm as she decided to head on over to the small group and see just what the fox was. "If we have to." Torr responded with sigh. He slowly followed along behind Ferra until the pair were soon near Nicho, Izuma, and Katerina. "Hey, uh, is that fox thing either of yours?" Ferra asked, though judging by Izuma's surprise the fox didn't belong to him. Which at best left the vague potential of it belonging to Katerina. "I'm Ferra by the way! This big guy is Torr!" She added on cheerfully with a big ol' grin on her lips.

186168.jpgAs Lord Death stepped out onto the courtyard with a few of the teachers, his immense presence caused Marcus to keep his eyes on him at all times. His presence demanded attention and Marcus did not want to experience Lord Death's famous 'Death Chop'. The girls on the other hand were afraid of the presence of Lord Death and hid behind Marcus. As he orders everyone to gather around, Marcus obeyed and stepped closure with the girls holding tightly onto his coveralls. "Everything will be okay." He whispered to them flashing them a reassuring smile. All the students gathered around listening to his announcement referring to John. Hearing what Lord Death had to say, Marcus understood everything referring to John and the consequences that'll follow if we hurt him; however, Marcus confused with his own emotions. He didn't know what to feel to be honest. He wasn't happy about John being here, nor was he entirely angry. Was he wrong for not being mad? John is only son of the Masked Man, and just like the other EAT students from last year, he's also a victim to that man. His face said it all. However Marcus died at the facility raid at the hands of a witch, which the Masked man was apart of. Despite knowing this, any feelings or trauma he'll have about that raid is long gone with his memories. He was utterly confused with himself and knew he'll either have to talk it about it one day or just let it go. Once Lord Death and Ikora gave out her instructions, Marcus looked down at the girls who were sticking their tongue out at Ikora. "Stop it girls." He said laughing, lightly pushing them off to the side. The crowd of students were disbursing and Marcus wanted to go back and chat it up with his friends more before the day actually started. He wanted to know just what everyone has been up to during the summer, and how they were managing with what happened.

Looking at Lew as he spoke, Marcus wondered what he was thinking about to make him space out. Lew was someone he really wanted to talk to as well upon his return. He heard from Hitomi how he was doing, but he wanted to know from Lew first hand. The guy lost his first meister to madness, faced a classmates death, and his weapon partner went solo. For three months he had to deal with that and Marcus wanted to know how he dealt with all that trauma and lost, emotionally. Physically, Lew went through a full appearance change. His hair was shorter, and he definitely bulked up a bit and is even wearing armor now. Was he even the same Lew from last year? Hopefully Marcus would be able to find some time to chat it up with him. He then turned to Rue, looking at her as she struggled to speak for a bit, relaying Ikora's instructions to Lew. But as he looked at her, he started to wonder about how everything went back home for her. That was the last time he saw her and the last memory he had of her before the raid took place. Despite her knowing of him coming back to life, that was something they never spoke about yet even as they hung out. He wanted to know just how much did she have to go through. He secretly hoped it was nothing compared to their first year, not wanting to wish that upon her. From being trapped in testing pod, to killing human soldiers trying to kill you, to losing comrades left and right, to mental and physical trauma, and even death itself. Though with this line of work, all of that he wished no one would have to go through is expected here. This academy will test the hell out of you, and if you're not ready or even too over your head........you'll die.

Rue's words brought Marcus back into reality. "Uhh to be honest, I got nervous at the bottom of the stairs. If it weren't for the girls, ain't no telling how long I would've been down there stair at the first step. I was hesitant and in my head thinking about taking that first step all over again. I didn't know what I would expect out of today, from the first day excersise to everyone seeing me again. But despite what happened so far, I'm glad I made that first step. It felt good being welcomed with a bunch of happy smiles, especially from you." He says with a grin. "But um yeah, Elvy is the one responsible for all this, my muscles work just as if I was alive, so all my training I went through caused me to definitely bulk up." He said chuckling for a bit, and even the girls wanted to chime in on their conversation. "Aniki is really big!" Nami said. "And his chest is kinda hard" Maki adds. "You should feel it Princess Rue!" They both said in unison looking up at her. "See here we'll help you." Nami said grabbing Rue's hand trying to hold it up towards Marcus chest. "Maki help meee." Nami said and without hesitation, Maki joined in helping her sister hold up Rue's hand. "Can you touch it yet??" Maki asked sounding like she struggling. The whole time marcus was laughing from the embarrassment as the girls had Rue's hand inches away from Marcus' chest. "Girls stop it. I'm sure Rue doesn't want to feel my chest." Marcus says as he grabs her hand removing it from the girls grasp. "What is wrong with y'all?" He asked laughing still holding onto Rue. "NOTHING!" The girls said in response. "No, no something is." He says laughing again as the twins puff up their faces pouting. Marcus attention was then taken from the twins towards two someones he hasn't seen in months. Camilla Crimson, and Gwen Wheeler.

"Cami. Gwen. It's been to long." Marcus didn't know what to really say even with Gwen all up in his face poking at him. "Yeah you're right Akron." He said towards Akron still looking at Gwen. "I'm not a ghost Gwen." Marcus said in response to her curious poking. Then her eyes widened right before tightly squeezing him in a warm embracing hug. FInally letting go of Rue's hand, Marcus hugs Gwen back rocking side to side, as expected from a reunion from two friends. "I haven't heard that name in a long time." He says referring to both Gwen and Anti-Marcus calling him 'Marki'. And Anti-Marcus has yet to return back to the scene. There's no telling if he even would. "I'm glad to see that the two of you have returned." He said releasing Gwen and grabs Cami for a hug as well. "You guys just missed Lord Death. Today has been a bit of an eventful morning, if I'm being honest." He said rubbing the back of his head. Then he started to feel the eyes of two young girls glaring at him for not introducing them sooner. He looked at the twins as they were staring into his soul. "Okay okay, stop looking at me like that. You girls can be scary sometimes." He said patting their heads. "Cami. Gwen. I'll like for you to meet my partners. Nami and Maki Sato." "Helloooo!!" They both said waving their hands. "You both have pretty hair." They said, walking around both Gwen and Cami, before returning towards Marcus side. As they did, they became curious as to where Onesie Knight went off to. Looking around, that's when they noticed Onesie Knight talking to their Aneki, Elvena Stein. Their eyes widened as they spotted their big sister, and favorite scientist. Sneaking away from Marcus the twins rush over towards Elvy. "Aneki!!" They yelled excitedly with their arms open. Marcus hearing their voices looking around in a panic before realizing their were just going to see Elvy. He let out a sigh of relief, as he rubs the bridge of his nose. "I'ma hurt them." He says obviously not meaning it. With the girls with Elvy Marcus didn't have to worry much as long as they don't wander away from her.

Max woke up in a good mood that morning. Granted, he woke up in a good mood every morning.

This morning, however, was a particularly good and special morning. Perhaps the goodest and most specialest of mornings, even. Yes--today was the day that he received his official, definitive, one of a kind license to kill.

A little grim, maybe--but it's not as if that was his fault. After all, this was entirely at the hands of Death Himself! He built a Murder School for learning murder! Well, the murder of murderers, if one wanted to be holistic, but as any self-respecting American knew, they had a word for that on television: heroism.

Thus, the birds were chirping, the sun was laughing extra loud, the supersized Americano he had chugged mere moments after getting it was burning his throat far worse than it normally did (a delightful sensation, really), and a whistling Max was on his way to school--though this time, an extra special, level two version of school. An extra special school, for extra special boys. Like him. With his endless energy, he took the stairs like a champ, casually strutting up them with a pep in his step rivaled only by his steadfast companion, Frankie the Funny Ferret. An extra special friend for an extra special boy, yes sir, yes sir in-deed.

Various other groups of students had already begun congregating in the halls by the time Max, still whistling, began to stride through them. He was, by any sense of the word, late--but if he was aware of that, he certainly didn't care. After all, being late was fashionable, if it was Max that was doing it. He could already feel the eyes of some of his former classmates upon him, prompting a snapped finger-gun in their direction as he hammed his way down the hall.

"Toppa the morning to ya, former associates!" he said, not even stopping to address them properly, "I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm on my way to the ee-ay-tee today, real important death weapon business." Several of the NOT students in the hallway sighed with relief--at the very least, Max would be someone else's problem for at least a year--if he made it that far. Others, meanwhile, seemed more than a little annoyed; how the hell did he manage to get in, but not some of them? The kid's brain could barely engage well enough for him to stand up straight.

"Yeah, uh, that's cool Max, really cool," one of them said flatly in an attempt to shoo him away from their ongoing, far more productive conversation--an attempt which Max entirely missed the overtones of. Thankfully, he was on his way anyway.

"Save your praise, save your praise, I'm merely doing what any mild-mannered red-blooded citizen of this fair country would do," he declared during his forward march, kicking open the door on the far end of the hall as he made his way out, "just one of many hard days of putting my life on the line for the American citizenry! Feel free to build a statue and scratch my name on a nice shiny wall somewhere; in memoriam!" He rolled the R.

The door slammed shut loudly behind him, leaving the hallway silent as several eyes continued to stare in the direction of Max's exit. "...God, I can only dream," muttered a student.

---

Max's entry into the courtyard was equally loud--a "shave and a haircut" lead-up, followed by him simply kicking the door in. "Happy dig-diddly ding-dong day to you fellas!" he shouted to, well, everyone, as far as could be discerned, "Not sorry I'm late, I'm a busy man. In demand! And 'sides, if I told you what happened on the way out here, dag-nabbit, you wouldn't believe me!" He happily made his way over to the nametag table, looking over each and every student with that same, wide, strange grin as he passed. "Well ain't you kiddos a grand ol' collection'a pastel pixies and punk-band losers! Y'know, back in my day, we tucked our socks in and wore uniforms to school! What's happening to this country?!" Arriving, he swiped his nametag off the table, looking it over with that same, frozen grin before flicking the paper with his finger and slapping the adhesive side onto his polo-shirt. Then, turning, he stood, hands balled on his hips, as if he were a superhero presenting himself. "Now how many balls does a kid gotta bust to get a diet soda in this joint, huh? This is a desert god dammit, I'm dyin'a heatstroke!"

Everything was going smoothly, if one ignored the commotion going on off to the side of the courtyard. The sun was shining, Norja was proudly sporting her nametag, and there was more jerky flying her way. Wait. FLYING MEAT? Without skipping a beat, Norja’s hand shot out to catch the snack before it could smack her in the face, or worse, fall on the ground. Though even if it had been carelessly slung into the dirt beside her, she’d still have knelt over and picked it up. What did they usually say? Five second rule. Nah, screw that, no second rule. Food was food. Dirt didn’t hurt anybody. Norja scoffed loudly, chewing just as audibly as she peered with predatory-like eyes towards the giver of the beef sticks. Those eyes narrowed, full of suspicion but she quickly began humming happily, completely disregarding whatever cynicism may have popped up. If someone tried to kidnap the weapon with food, they’d find themselves highly successful. She was the poster child for the cliche of the creepy van and the weirdo trying to lure the person in with promises of candy within it. She’d hop in willingly, all for the promise of food. It was sickening and humorous at the same time, however that worked.

With a tilt of her head, she cracked her neck a bit, her petite frame now settling itself against the side of the name tag table. Norja hadn’t bothered moving. She had food, the wolves were content and still licking their lips from the jerky they’d also been given. Life was peachy. Life was amazing. She watched the whole fiasco across from her with a gaze that almost seemed disinterested. As long as Sozen wasn’t being viciously mauled by any of the students, there wasn’t much need to be concerned or to step in. After all, despite his condition with his leg, she knew he was more than capable of handling his own shit. She wouldn’t have partnered with someone who wasn’t. There were zero babysitting skills to be found in this one. Absolutely none. She had the patience of… well, she had none. With a sigh she leaned back, gaze lifting towards the sky to watch it for a while. In that moment she felt it, that tug on her heart that she’d been ignoring since she arrived. The girl was terribly homesick, missing her village and her people. The mountains, the traditions. This place lacked all of that. Especially the mountain aspect. It was flat and barren. Norja had never realized how much this seemingly simple fact would cause to aid in only deepening her depression when it came to being so far from home.

People came and left, their shifting and subtle noises of scribbling as they grabbed a tag and waltzed off definitely not garnering a second glance from her. The wolves remained stoic, their sides glued to Norja’s body and their faces buried into her shoulder as if trying to offer her some semblance of comfort. Soon Sozen joined them and she found herself holding out his nametag, lavender eyes slowly lowering from cloud watching to peer at him. For a moment she appeared to be somewhere else, one of the few times her face appeared innocent and forlorn. “ Zey are? “ She spoke up, confusion laced within her words as she stepped away from the table. Her hues flickered from down to her own tag to back up towards his. Eventually she shrugged, crimson locks sliding into her vision as she watched him silently after he’d apologized. A rare sentiment from Sozen indeed, one that she didn’t feel the need to bite back at for once. Lord Death, whom she had only met once very briefly, appeared to the entire flock of students shortly after. Again, she was struck with the same impression she had first garnered. “ Ze gods ‘ere are so tiny. “ She commented aloud towards Sozen, not even caring that she herself was also considered ‘so tiny’.

Both hands reached out to touch the wolves, those small hands caressing their faces as if they were the most precious things in the world. “ Don’t ye agree? “ She said with a sly grin, knowing full well that both of the wolves knew exactly what she was referring to. They made a small noise, one that could only be considered a friendly lowly growl, as she grinned even more, her pearly whites flashing confidently. Even if they couldn’t speak, Norja was connected to them in a way that that kind of communication was unnecessary. They spoke much like a meister and weapon did; through their bond. “ Vat is taking so long, Sozen? Did we come ‘ere to just stand ‘ere? “ The weapon inquired, getting antsy just loitering around. Norja’s eyes widened as she felt Hati’s surprise hit her like a sack of bricks. “ Oi! “ She shrieked out loudly, stomping her feet in protest, hand wagging about in the air as if this was somehow threatening. “ Hati is not zum carny ride, ye damn clown! “ She growled just as fiercely as Skoll who was standing beside Hati now, his face inches away from J’s face, those teeth barred. Norja herself swiveled around and got up on her tippy toes, appearing on the other side of J’s face, her eyes wild. She immediately recognized him as the boy who had so mysteriously thrown the random snacks at both her and the wolves earlier. Why he had was unbeknownst to her but she'd never been the one to go investigating matters that revolved around her perpetually gurgling and seemingly always empty stomach. “ Ye have to pay before ye can just ride dem, ye know? We take payment in ze form of food. Dis is not free entertainment! I know ye 'ave somethin' so fork it over 'n ye won't 'ave to face me wrath. “ She said matter o’ factly, arms crossing like she was some sort of mobster who was awaiting a big cash out and ready to resort to violence if necessary.

" Vait... a minute. Looks like candy.... " Norja sniffed loudly as if trying to find the source of a certain smell, getting closer to the boy atop of Hati. " Smells like candy... " She continued before her canines flashed, mouth in motion to assault his rainbow colored hair in an attempt to eat it.

R.b7eff8c0d26936f4ac1eea75a893aa54

Lacey held her hands up in a placating manner and offered her mildly upset friend a nervous smile. I may have struck a nerve with that weight question. The blonde girl let out a short chuckle that lacked mirth as she waited out the verbal assault in response to her earlier insensitive words. She did not have to wait too long, for Lia decided to uncharacteristically apologize, surprising Lacey in the process. Her green eyes only widened further when Lia gave a reasonably sound explanation for the potential process for partner selection. Lia is certainly astute today. And her question is a difficult one to answer. I could say Llewellyn but I do not know if we are compatible. A few seconds of silence stretched on as Lacey pursed her lips in thought, obviously considering her friend’s inquiry. Eventually, Lacey did voice her answer. “No, there really is no one I can think of who I would wish to partner with. Oh! What if you had some hidden Weapon Genes!? We could be partners then!”

Lia pursed her lips as she thought about her acquaintance’s question. She didn’t think that it was possible to have Weapon Genes, but stranger things have happened. For all she knows she might be a carrier. “I don’t think that I do, but you are welcome to try and see if we are compatible.” Lia shrugged and held out her hands for the other girl to grasp.

The blonde girl hesitated, unsure of whether or not Lia was simply humoring the word salad that had tumbled out of Lacey’s mouth. Then, when the white haired female held out her hands, Lacey tentatively grabbed hold. She is not making any efforts to crush my hands, so I guess she was serious. Oh, her hands have a few calluses on them! She must have been training really hard. Green eyes peered at the other girl’s hands for a short while as Lacey marveled at the physical proof of her friend’s effort. After she was done being impressed by Lia’s skin bumps, Lacey closed her eyes and focused on her own soul wavelength before reaching out to feel the wavelength of the other girl before her. Surprisingly, Lacey could sense her friend’s wavelength even without the Soul Perception ability but what she saw was a bit disappointing. Lia was no Weapon. She was a Meister. “No. You are a Meister too. Oh well.” Lacey tried to keep her disappointment from infecting her tone as she offered her friend a small smile while she released her hold of Lia’s hands.

Lia didn’t expect Lacey to openly grab her hands, and it took everything she had not to turn red in the face. It was just light contact amongst friends. Though the more they stood there, Lia couldn’t help but wonder what was going through the blond’s head. Probably scrutinizing my body again. If that’s the case, I am not buying her desert for lunch this week. Lia huffed quietly to herself before she felt Lacey’s hands release hers and registered her friend’s words. She shrugged and glanced slightly to the side. “It didn’t hurt to double check. And now we know for certain.”

The Galant lady parted her lips to give out a response, only for them to be promptly closed when THE Lord Death stepped out into the courtyard to demand the students’ attention. The dark clad headmaster talked about the reception of John, presumably the student the earlier commotion was centered around. A commotion Lacey had noticed but spared no effort in resolving as more and more people seemed to join in. It is a good thing Lia and I stayed out of it. The blonde couldn’t help but think as she gave a mute nod in response to Lord Death’s demands to play nice with the newly minted social outcast for their class. Next, Professor Ikora stepped forward as Lord Death left. The Death Weapon instructed the class to seek out their potential partners if they had not taken the chance to do so yet, after which they were expected to check in with Professor Juri, a small pink haired woman(?), to finalize their teams.
“Well… That was certainly eventful.” Lacey said in the moments following Ikora’s speech, hoping to partially diffuse some of the tension she could feel hanging about in the air. “We should probably try to approach some other people as they suggested. We do not yet have partners after all.” The blonde clasped her hands together, subconsciously playing with her fingers as her green eyes darted about filled with uncertainty, trying to find a viable target to pester.

Lia raised a brow at the drama, happy to not have played any part in it. As far as she knew, no one was trying to frame her for stupid reasons again, so she felt no need to step in. Her mind wandered a bit, torn between trying to recall memories from her middle school years and focusing on what was going on in the present. Lia was saved when Lacey spoke, helping to ground her back to the present. “Hm? Oh, sure. I’ll go with you. Maybe we can find our matches faster or something.”

Lia paused when she heard the voice of an unfamiliar girl approach both herself and Lacey. When she turned, she saw a girl smaller than herself with white hair, pink eyes, and a green bear? Bold of her to walk around with something that could easily be taken or held hostage in public settings like this. Lia’s orchid orbs trailed back to the small girl, and…she’s talking too much. She felt her eye twitch in light annoyance, feeling said annoyance display itself on her face. This girl, Kimberly she recalled faintly, was probably new, so Lia was going to let her off light. “Go away.”

Lacey’s fidgeting did not seem to be stopping anytime soon, even when Lia voiced her willingness to walk with her to seek out their potential partners. She called my bluff! The blonde internally panicked as she wished she had kept her mouth shut earlier. No, calm down. This is okay. I just have to find someone who is by themself… Green orbs desperately roamed about the courtyard, trying to locate someone isolated. Unfortunately, every single last person present was part of some small gathering of at least three or more people. Lacey was about ready to give up her search and approach one of the groups when a smaller girl came to them instead. Oh she’s so cute! Her eyes sparkled as she looked upon the most adorable thing she had seen since the cat video she watched yesterday! I just want to pick her up and squeeze her!
“Lia…”
Lacey’s tone was pleading as she glanced over towards her unfriendly friend. “Be nice. We still need to get partners and Kimberly here has a blue name tag.” Green eyes still sparkled slightly as Lacey’s prior nervousness was forgotten and replaced by her barely restrained desire to treat Kimberly like the teddy bear she held.

Lia turned to lightly glower at her so-called friend, unaware that her current expression resembled that of an angry wet kitten baring its teeth. There was a limit to the amount of social interactions she was able to endure on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the other white haired girl who called herself Kimberly, had pushed her beyond her limit. “Then why don’t you see if you are compatible?” Lia paused, jumping lightly when a red haired male landed in front of them. “The hell?”

I made her upset again. Lacey mentally noted, feeling only partially bad for upsetting Lia with the most adorable creature she has seen still within her line of sight. But Lia will get over it. I think. The blonde was going to give a short apology to her friend when Lia suggested the best thing she ever could have in that particular moment. “A spectacular idea!” If it were possible, Lacey’s eyes became as sparkly as fully polished emeralds. “Would you be willing to-?” Her words were cut off as another individual literally leaped into the conversation and requested the very thing Lacey was just about to request herself. The chance to check her wavelength connection with the adorable girl in front of her. Go right ahead, I suppose. The blonde mentally grumbled as she crossed her arms in front of her, feeling her excitement dying a slow, suffocating death.

Lia turned her attention away from the male before her, seeing as his attention was now on Kimberly. It had made her feel a little better that someone else was getting all of the smaller girl’s attention. Or at least it did until she turned and noticed that Lacey was down. Lia let out an annoyed huff as she turned to face the male. “Hey. If she isn’t your partner, please let my friend talk to her next.” The things she does to make her friend happy…hopefully she would get a slice of cake or something later.

Katerina jumped a little at the sudden yell from Izuma. She was about to ask what was wrong but quickly took note of the fox that appeared out of nowhere. "What an adorable creature! I wonder who it belongs to?" She asked right as Ferra and Torr approached. "It's certainly not mine," She said half answering Ferra, half continuing her train of thought.

And holy shit Torr seemed even more massive up close! She was so distracted by the sheer size of the guy, she almost missed Ferra introducing the two. "Nice to meet you, Ferra and Torr. I'm Katerina as you can see. What did you eat to get so massive?" She didn't mean to let that last part slip out and quickly covered her mouth and blushed from embarrassment. "Uh...you can ignore that last question. I didn't mean to say it out loud."

Her embarrassment was quickly overshadowed by irritation at the boisterous voice of Max as he made his way past. It was one thing to insult the group's fashion sense, it was another thing entirely to be so arrogant and self-righteous about the whole thing. As if he didn't look and act like someone who got beaten up for his lunch money on a regular basis.

"Oh boy," She said shaking her head and turning her attention back to the group she was speaking with, "We should definitely figure out if this fox belongs to anyone and if not call animal control to deal with it."

A flash of silvery light engulfed the fox replacing it moment later with the well dressed from of Nicho, but with large fluffy ears and 9 fluffy tails anyone looking at his soul would Notice it too had fox ears and gold and blue dot on it much like the Russians own eyes. “Aah no my friends in am no Nicholai Balakin actually also no no not witch or anything just eeeh specific medical condition Da? Kimberly took a good look at both girls wanting to know how the would respond to her babbling introduction. The white haired girl, Rosalia, told her to go away. Kimberly did not know what she did wrong. All she did was run up and introduce herself the the two of them. Then again she was a bit awkward in doing so. Maybe I came on to strong. Oh no did I ruin a potential friend. This is bad. Very, very bad. Kimberly thought to herself as she got a worried look on her face. Kimberly was very concerned that she had screwed up a possible relationship with these two girls but that changed when Lacey, Rosalia’s friend, told her to be nice and that they needed to find partners. Kimberly was happy once again knowing that at least one them wanted her around. Rosalia then mentioned something about testing compatibility between Lacey and Kimberly which got the short white girl excited. Finally, I’m going to get a partner.

Lacey was just about to ask a question when a red haired male flipped over the trio in a tremendous display of acrobatics and held out his hand to Kimberly asking to see if he could test if they were partners. This boy has some moves. Kimberly thought to herself with sparkling eyes, then realized this boy so rudely interrupted the blonde. “Hey wait just a minute. This kind lady right her.” Kimberly pointed at Lacey. “Was about to ask me something and you have to go pull these amazing acrobatic moves right in front of me and interrupt her.” Kimberly assumed this boy did this on purpose because everyone has a reason for the things they do. Kimberly did not like getting interrupted nor did she appreciate when other’s did so. Rosalia asked the boy to see if Kimberly and Lacey were also compatible once they were done. Kimberly nodded to Rosalia even though the question was not directed towards her. As she turns back to the boy “But sure, I’ll see if I am your partner.” Kimberly begrudgingly placed her hand in the boy’s hand and transformed into her hammer form. A moment later Kimberly feels the ground due to him dropping her, apparently this is not her partner. If he was he would have no issue lifting her off the ground. Kimberly then swiftly changed back and looked at the boy and got a good look at his tag. “Nik, Is it? I am afraid you are not my partner.” Kimberly then turned back to Lacey.

Kimberly looked back at Lacey. “You wanted to see if we were compatible, correct?” Kimberly stood there waiting for a response. If she did not want to test if they were partners then she would turn her attention the Rosalia. If she did want to see if they were compatible, Kimberly would throw herself into Lacey arms and transform with no warning.

    DWMA Courtyard

The young man digested the words that Rue uttered the same way a child would medicine, with great reluctance. Llewellyn knew that the princess did not mean to inflict any harm with her words, yet the aching lump that had formed within his throat prevented him from assuring his friend that he took no offence. It was impossible to be offended when his Meister, his target for his misguided affections was lost with no hope of returning. Llewellyn's chest clenched tightly as he gave a smile as fake as plastic along with an acknowledging nod to show he understood what must be done. He did not have to like it but the blonde most certainly did have to accept the inevitability of seeking out a new Meister. Rue was simply attempting to ensure that Llewellyn did not miss his chance to continue participating in the DWMA, of reaching the goal he had set for himself. Time to head out for now and face reality. This change... It is for the best. I know this yet... His blue eye closed as Llewellyn released a slow, shaky breath. Then, the first step was made away from the group.

Llewellyn did catch the snippets of conversation from the group behind him as he made to walk away and while he did wish to speak with his former teammates, he did not do so now. Camilla and Gwen deserved the chance to reconnect with Marcus as well. They deserved their private moment with their now undead classmate or, as private a moment as they would be receiving in this public setting. That unfortunately meant leaving for now, though he could easily return should he locate a Meister willing to embrace the risk of wielding a Shield. No, I must not think of that. I should simply do as instructed and assist my new Meister to the best of my ability, should I be partnered this year. He could feel the pain dimming now that his focus was being set towards the task at hand but, Llewellyn knew that the unpleasant sensation would never truly leave him. I shall head towards Lady Galant first to help ensure she receive a Weapon. The Galants are already without a home. They do not need to be without their pride as well. A blue orb looked across the courtyard before quickly settling upon the blonde hair of his sibling, after which he felt his feet guiding him toward Lacey.

A flash of silver and a brief tickling sensation in the back of his mind temporarily drew Llewellyn's attention away from his destination to peer at the most proficient, if not deadly Meister and Weapon pair in the DWMA. Elvena Stein, someone he would feel compelled to offer his aid towards due to the debt he owed her brother and Takeshi Mifune, a source of fear for Llewellyn, as well as the reason for his hesitance in approaching the Stein. The young man wisely decided to take an additional step or two towards the side in order to place himself entirely out of their path. While he did so, there was a niggling desire to give his gratitude to the silver haired woman for bringing Marcus back, as the male Meister had declared. That desire was halted immediately by Llewellyn's much stronger desire to avoid drawing the murderous Weapon's attention. Besides, Llewellyn could always demonstrate his gratitude later by safeguarding Marcus or assisting his Meister in driving off any annoyances plaguing the Stein should they ever be present in the same mission. There will always be another opportunity. Llewellyn told himself as he hastened his steps, bringing him increasingly further away from the deadly duo and closer to his sibling and the group forming around her instead.

Llewellyn's altered path had him moving past two startlingly large wolves that he had not noticed before. The blonde would have questioned their presence within the Academy's courtyard but he did not. The sight of a multicolored male sat comfortably upon the back of one of the large wolves was enough for Llewellyn to decide that he did not need to know the reason for the wolves being present. If Lord Death did not see them as a potential threat when giving his speech earlier, then Llewellyn could safely surmise that they were tame enough to not harm any individual who refrained from pestering them. In addition, it was highly unlikely that the individual currently bothering the two furry death traps, J, would receive anything more than minor cuts or bruises for his antics. Oh. These wolves seem to have a handler. He noted upon seeing a red haired girl step forward to berate J for his actions. I certainly do not need to worry now.

Moving on from the small disturbance, Llewellyn finally made his way over to Lacey and the three other individuals currently near the Galant woman. The blonde male approached while the smallest white haired girl was talking to the sole male within the group, catching the final sentence spoken between the two. So this girl is not compatible with this young man. The solitary blue eye glanced down at the nametag the red haired male wore, instantly noting the red marker his name was written in. And she is a Weapon! This is certainly good fortune for Lady Galant. Llewellyn felt a small bit of relief, even if the smaller Weapon's compatibility with his sibling was not yet confirmed. The blonde was about to declare his presence and suggest that his sister go next in the testing process when the white haired girl leaped into Lacey's arms and transformed. Concern was the first thing to enter his mind. Concern for Lacey's well being given that a potentially incompatible Weapon just recklessly threw herself into the Galant woman's arms. However, mercy decided to bless Llewellyn this morning by showing him that his sibling was uninjured from the careless action, proving to him and those around Lacey that this was now a matched Meister and Weapon pair.
"Congratulations." Llewellyn said in a tone far calmer than his racing heartbeat.

As lzuma finally caught his breath he took a closer look at the fox. He couldn’t help but feel fascinated by it. “Now that I have taken a closer look at you. You’re actually kind of cute.” He smiled softly. He went in for a pet but decided not to. He looked at Katerina, a bit confused at her proposal of calling animal control. “They don’t seem to cause too much trouble. Perhaps it’s someone’s pet. We should probably take this to the teachers or something.” He wondered how a fox even got here, as the city was basically in the middle of a desert. He noticed Ferra and Torr approaching. He turned to them, trying not to be intimidated by Torr’s size. “Hey. The name’s Izuma, Izuma Arkane. Nice to meet you.” He nervously smiled, trying not point out the gigantic height difference between Ferra and Torr. “I’m guessing you’re partners, right? I gotta find mine soon…”

Before he could continue his conversation with the two, the fox jumped on his head. “H-Hey! What’s the big idea!” When the fox jumped on him, he didn’t nothing. As if it was light as a feather. “Maybe Katerina had a point..” He thought to himself as he tried to make his hair neat. He walked up to the until a flash of light blinded him for a little bit. After rubbing his eyes, he was surprised to see a young man with fox ears and a numerous amount of tails in the place of where the fox was. “Holy shit. I can’t believe it. I thought such things only existed in myth. Now I’ve seen everything.” He said in astonishment. “I should of left my home ages ago.” He thought to himself as he chuckled.

Looking towards Lia at her statement that he had interrupted Kimberly and Lacey's interaction- Nik smiled sheepishly in response to her. "Of course, I would not want to waste too much of anyone's time." Once Kimberly took his hand and transformed, the effect was immediate. Nik sent his wavelength out- and she did not seem to receive it in the manner that should have been much smoother. Instead, Kimberly became heavy and as a result, she crashed.

Hm, unfortunate.

Demonstration done, Nik nodded to Kimberly in a minor smile, "Thanks for the time." However it was Lacey's reaction that kept him from immediately just turning around and going off after another available Weapon in the area. Watching her excitement flourish actually did put a smile on his face. So much so he was grinning. It didn't take a genius to see how happy she was. He could practically feel it, literally in the air around her. And judging from the...relative? he glanced at Llewellyn, he was just as happy for her. "That is correct, she is. I am glad you two are a match, sorry about the interruption also." With an affectionate pat on the shoulder he gave all three two thumbs up. "I hope to see you three again sometime. Chou!" Then he cartwheeled away.

Turning the last cartwheel into a run, Nik was off. Hunting for his own partner. As he passed he noticed the fox in the distance- and could not help but snicker.

Rushing down the path he went led him inevitably to his next target: Evans.

Coming to a grinding halt, Nik skidded past the Weapon and with a turn on his heel- wheeled around and with a grin said: "Hey! Want to see if we're partners?"

There was a long stare being held between the two, her head only tilted the slightest so that her vibrant red eyes could steadily hold the taller males. It would seem her gaze was darkening, the topic lurking behind them clearly of the utmost importance; at least to her. “ Do you want my lunch? I lost my appetite after that whole ordeal. “ The words fell carelessly from her lips, voice hushed and barely audible like normal. After her verbal offer, her hand dropped from his clothes as she went shuffling around in her satchel for the bento box. It was held out towards him, that miniscule smile causing her lips to curve ever so slightly. Skipping another meal? Hime asked innocently, a hint of worry dancing about the thought that tumbled about in Elvena’s mind. “ I’ll be fine. “ She said aloud, lowering her gaze and stealing a look towards her partner that she’d towed along. It wasn’t clear if she was answering the voice in her head or preemptively reassuring Takeshi who would’ve actively taken note of all the times she’d turned down eating over the past few weeks. He’d managed to convince her to eat the bare minimum but they both knew that would only keep her going for so long. Eventually she’d eat but today was not that day. She was built differently which allowed her to skirt by without what the normal human body needed to function. However, she couldn't nix it altogether lest she face the consequences once they caught up with her.

Thankfully a brilliant distraction in the form of two small girls barreling towards her was enough to break the nonverbal conversation that she was having with her weapon partner. It was hardly noticeable to anyone else but Elvena hesitated when releasing Takeshi’s wrist, breathing inwardly as if to prepare herself for separating from him. His body warmth was soon replaced with the twins as she lowered herself, elbows resting on her knees whilst those unreadable eyes fixated on the two. As they hugged her Elvy remained completely balanced, only leaning into the embrace so that the two didn’t think she was neglecting their advance. She had a huge soft spot for the twin girls, relating them very much to the bond she had with her own twin, Elias. Truthfully she had never thought about what it would feel like to be considered a ‘bigger’ sister to anyone but it was a connection that she was grateful to have developed with Marcus’s weapons over the Summer. It was helping keep her grasp steady on the slippery thing that was her sanity. Whatever shreds were left of it.

Are you three coming over today? I put together a few experiments I thought you two would like, Marcus not so much. It'll be messy. “ Elvena leaned forward a bit, voice somehow lowering to an even quieter octave as she spoke again. “ My twin brother, Marcus’s previous weapon that he made into a super cool death scythe, will be by to visit. I’m sure he’d love to meet you both. “ That was definitely up in the air, Elias was terrible around little kids but if the two were able to grow so quickly on Elvena, perhaps they’d win him over too. After-all, they were Marcus’s partners and that would hold the utmost merit with the other Stein. “ I might even be able to convince him to transform. “ She added on with a hint of glee jumping from one eye to the other, clearly excited to feel the difference between Elias’s old weapon form compared to the newly acquired status that had him jump leagues in power. It would never measure up to how it felt to wield Takeshi but for the sake of the data it was definitely enthralling. She was thirsty for that knowledge and perpetually curious, always yearning to uncover more and more regardless of how deep of a hole she had to dig in order to expose those truths.

Eventually she straightened back up, long hair brushing against the cement beneath its strands like a broomstick in motion. That protective and dangerous gaze remained hovering over the girls in front of her, attention more so on her peripherals to gauge for any threats that may arise. “ Akron. “ His name was spoken a bit more sternly compared to the gentler tone that was used with Nami and Maki. “ If John is on your team, make sure to keep a close eye on him. “ She requested, still not letting her eyes drift from their perched position. “ There’s a darkness there that isn’t…. Well, you know better than anyone. “ Elvena quickly picked back up after she’d trailed off, looking past the girls’ heads to peer at the bustling students chattering and standing about. “ Is your new partner here yet? “ She searched for Izuma and tilted her head once she spotted him, immediately locking her gaze on the oh so familiar frame of the kitsune boy whom stood within that group of students. Her entire body shook as it was covered in goosebumps, lips twitching as she watched each one of his tails sway about as if taunting her. “ One day he’ll willingly be my test subject. Or not so willing... “ She said to nobody in particular with a longing sigh accompanying her words.

You should go say hi to him. “ The ‘him’ being Izuma. Elvena would normally have nudged him in that direction simply for the sake of tagging along to get in closer proximity to Nicholai. Most likely she’d end up using Akron as a human barrier to hide her presence until the very last second so that she could pounce on the other meister and catch him off guard, those hands greedily reaching out to grasp his fluffy ears. Currently though, there was a sluggish sensation trailing along her limbs that she was only now willing to acknowledge. “ Shi? “ She pivoted her body around to face him and searched his golden eyes for a few moments. “ Nap? “ The question wasn’t one she waited to hear an answer for. The woman was already behind him and climbing up onto his back to nestle her face into the side of his neck, shoulder being used as a makeshift pillow while her tousled hair draped around his entire body almost protectively. Her arms hung loosely over his torso, eyes immediately closing before her soul dimmed down and went into a placated state.

Cain paused momentarily in his departure as ear's caught wind of J's satirical remark; a smirk forming along Cain's face as he inwardly ridiculed the hypocrisy of that statement. Just as Cain had earlier been accused of not knowing anything, it was quite evident that the 'old' batch of students here were just as guilty of the same crime. While he wasn't surprised that word of his 'multiple' partners had reached even these parts of the world, he was admittedly quite shocked at how gullible these supposed 'Top of the class' students were. The most renowned branch of the DWMA?. Cain was finding that hard to believe at the moment.

"That's a swing and a miss" replied Cain, not even bothering to turn around and face the ill-informed meister. Simply giving him a half ass wave as he resumed his departure from the toxic environment. Unlike some, Cain wasn't as easy to hook with bait, he wasn't so flimsy and weak willed that a playground jibe would cause his composure to falter, nor was he the type to explode over something so trivial. He had more stock to his character than that. Likewise he didn't even spare a second thought towards the idea of correcting their obvious lack of information on the matter. If they wanted to believe rumours without corroborating the actual truth, then that was just the calibre of person they were. They wouldn't last long.

Now out of the toxic environent, Cain had found himself closer to towards the outskirts of the courtyard; his lungs thanking him for the breath of fresh air as he lazily glanced through his mobile phone; returning to the morning text he had recieved from Cassidy. 'Good Luck' Fingers hovering over the keyboard, Cain's attempt to finally reply to his former meisters gesture would be put on pause as he felt a rush of wind brush past him.

Almost instantly Cain felt the atmosphere begin to shift as he pocketed his mobile device, two eyes staring up at the taller man whom he recalled glancing at prior to the kerfuffle. There was undoubtedly an odd presence to the man; one Cain could not recall ever feeling before and it was one that had put him on edge; much like when one is faced with something they don't quite understand. However, it was the grin that had caught him most off guard. Truthfully, given this weird aura that seemed to permeate off of the man; Nik Bang, Cain was expecting a far more aloof and colder person; yet what he was presently witnessing was a far warmer smile.

Cain paused at the question posed to him by Nik, his eyes studying the peculiar meister. While J's remark earlier was horribly ill-informed, it was still a fact that Cain had indeed had several meisters prior to coming here; their partnerships ending in a plethora of reasons; half of which were done because he had felt it the best solution at the time. That being said, Cain could not deny that Nik had indeed piqued his interest earlier and given how he had still chosen to approach him after the fiasco moments ago, Cain couldn't help but feel like taking the mans offer.

"Are you sure?" questioned Cain, though it was rhetorical. Without skipping a beat, the air around Cain would begin to cackle with electricity as sparks began to form all around him; the static generated off of the transformation potentially causing those nearby to have their hair stand on end. Gradually his body would begin to glow; its light brightening until a flash of what appeared to be lightning struck the ground.

Though if one were to look at where Cain stood, they would see nothing but faint scorch marks and a shadow looming above them as the golden scythe form of Cain was presently hurtling directly at Nik.

Would Nik Dodge? Would he catch him? Cain pondered the thought as he tested the Meister before him.

__xinyan_genshin_impact_drawn_by_wasabi_lucyfairytail3__sample-7f3e177cda3e1aee20d552e7afbddfee.jpgYang's body immediately went stiff as she stood before Lord Death. His presence itself towered completely over her as if she was standing right before the Empire State Building. Sweat started to form on her forehead as she realized she was nothing compared to the power Lord Death possessed. If he truly wanted,he could end her right here and now. This was the power she wanted. Power that can cause one to succumb to fear if she truly wanted to. Power that no one in their right mind would dare challenge. She took a step back as he spoke to the two of them telling them to stay. All Yang could do was nervously nod her head agreeing to him, she couldn't even manage to bring herself to speak. She stood amongst the others listening to his words as he shed some light on the current situation. Did she like it, no not really, but she's willing to give him another chance as long as he checks his attitude and apologizes. But she doubts that'll ever happen. He didn't seem like the type that'll actually apologize, even if he was told to. After Lord Death gave his statement and left, Ikora gave all the unpaired students orders to find a partner. Luckily for her, that part was already taken care of. So now she can relax and help Grace relax.

As everyone dispersed, she turned towards her partner flashing her a big ole smile, glad she found Grace as her partner. Though as she looked at Grace her expression will slowly fade. "Yeah, I'm okay. It'll take a lot more to get me down. But don't beat yourself up about it. It wasn't stupid at all, nor did you act alone. Though I will say, I didn't expect it to blow up like it did. But nonetheless, I'm glad to know we have each others back regardless of the situations." She said giving her a smaller but a honest reassuring smile. She looked around at all the other students as they took this time trying to find their match. She wondered just how long this would take, wanting to get right into the exercise for today. As she did, she overheard John mentioning that he had no partner and no one wanted to partner with him. She couldn't help herself but to snicker at himself whining like that. "Talk about Karma, right." She said looking at Grace, still having a grin on her face. However, seeing the tense expression on her face caused her grin to fade. She wondered what exactly made her this way, and looked in the direction she was staring in. Knowing what happened, it was clear what made her this way. Grace finally realized Marcus was back after everything that went down. Feeling the sadness within Grace's soul made her sad as well. She placed a hand on her shoulder looking her way. "Go talk to him Grace. I'm sure he'll be happy to see you. I don't know what exactly you're feeling right now but maybe you'll feel better if you speak to him. And if I need to drag him away from everyone over there just so y'all can speak in private, I will!" She said smiling brightly. "Then afterwards I'll just go do my own little mingling myself. Maybe speak to that european girl from earlier. You know the one with the wolves, who came with Sozen. She seems really interesting. I hope we end up on the same team as them." She said giggling a bit put her hands behind her head.
