Pyrrha Nikos Lives On

Sersi Jadis

Role: Head Mistress

Location: The Auditorium

Interactions: The Student Body

Standing center stage and looking out at the crowd of students gathered before her Sersi knew that the senior students were eager to get their first real look at the new wave of hunters and huntresses in training. This lot certainly showed promise if their entrance exams and first challenge were anything to go off of. Each of the first years managed to find a partner, the first person they set eyes on in the caverns as was custom, and together each duo managed to successfully obtain a scroll and escape with their lives. It was a feat they should each be proud of though she was well aware that this was only the start of their journey and they would face far more daunting foes than a few subterranean Grimm. She had rather enjoyed watching each of them fight, seeing how two strangers could manage to work together, if they would even be able to work together. That was an important skill for all hunters and huntresses to have after all, even if you aren't the biggest fan of other people it is important if not necessary to be able to work with them in a pinch.

Her crimson gaze swept over the ocean of students before her as she calmly raised her hand, a signal for the student body to quiet down. Within seconds the chatter and hollering were gone and Sersi gave the crowd a nod of appreciation as she smiled and turned her attention to the group of new students standing at the base of the stage. "Today those newest to the ranks of Haven Academy completed the first of many milestones in their training. These brave young students plunged into the labyrinth of Caswald Caverns, went toe to toe with countless Grimm, and retrieved their scrolls by working together. Teamwork is one of the most important lessons you can learn as a huntsman or huntress. While you might be strong on your own you are always far more capable when you have another fighting at your side. A team protects each other, helps each other, and when necessary they will challenge one another to help each other grow. It is important now more than ever that you have that form of support both in the classroom and in the field. It is the hope of myself as well as everyone else in this room that you will each find allies, friends, perhaps bonds as strong as family in your teams and that you will learn to work together to face any and all challenges that come your way." The Head Mistress's voice was strong, regal, but also genuine as she spoke to the entire student body but mostly to the new students standing before her.

"Now, enough of formalities." She announced with a smile as she could sense the buzz of excitement rolling off the students. "Let us begin announcing Haven's newest teams." Her words were met by cheers and applause from the older students while many of the younger students looked around at those closest to them. She imagined they were likely trying to guess which faces in the crowd would be the three they would be assigned to for the rest of their time at Haven Academy. As the noise once again died down Sersi waved her hand and with the motion, the screen behind her lit up as did four spots on the stage beside her. The students had been made aware that when their names were called they would take their place on the stage to be seen by all in the auditorium. "Kazuto Fujihara, Eros Chartreuse, Iris Volkov, and Camilla Azotz. The four of you retrieved the scrolls belonging to the tale of 'The Girl In The Tower'. From this day forward the four of you shall work together as Team KEIC and shall be led by Kazuto Fujihara." Allowing the group to stand before the student body for a minute she glanced up at the screen where their new team name shone brightly. After a heartbeat, the group moved off the stage and Sersi continued, "Sidon Phinn, Alstro Edelweiss, Akemi Akako, and Vio Magnolia. The four of you retrieved the scrolls belonging to the tale of 'The Shallow Sea'. From this day forward the four of you shall work together as Team SAAV and shall be led by Sidon Phinn." She announced and just as for the first team the auditorium erupted into applause as the new team was welcomed by the existing Haven Academy teams. A moment later the students left the stage and the ceremony continued as the Head Mistress announced each team and their new name, allowing them to stand before the crowd before another team was called. Finally, she came to the last group, her smile still beautifully painted upon her lips and still as genuine as ever. "Our final team shall consist of Turin Iseran, Jas Magnolia, Reese Yavalla, and Navajo Shatterghast. The four of you retrieved the scrolls belonging to the tale of 'The Grimm Child'. From this day forward the four of you shall work together as Team TJRN and shall be led by Turin Iseran."

"Today will be the start of greatness", was what rang through Turin's thoughts over and over again. He had done it, he had gotten into haven at last despite all the troubles it involved. Every mile he traveled, every paperwork check, every annoying distraction leading up to this moment. He couldn't help but grin from ear to ear as he gazed across the cheering crowd. His eyes eventually landed onto the headmistress herself, something about her caused an itch in the back his mind. However, his attention was once more robbed by the crowd's applauding and cheering at his( and his team's) Initiation into the academy. Turning to his right was Jas magnolia, his partner and teammate for the rest of his day in the academy. She had proven to be invaluable during the trail, Sniping off flanking grim while he cut through the manic hordes of grimm. It was to put it bluntly, a massacre by the end of it.

"So Magnolia, what do you think of this gracious team? I'd say we got a shot to be best in our year no?' After all with our skills combined we surely give the others a run for their money!" He stated with absolute certainty. While he hadn't really seen his other now teammates in action, he was pretty sure they had to be at the very least decent if they had passed the trail,no? Either way; today was a good day. AND nothing was going to stop this.

  • "Listen, I got the skills, the talent, and the can-do attitude. So let's do it to it!"
    Navajo Shatterghast
The Man With the Awesome Plan So this was it.

They were all finally huntsmen and huntresses and all that jazz.

Of course, it was to be expected out of someone like Navajo, of course. He was amazing and all that, but the rest of these guys? He was not sure how much confidence to put in their individual skills.

Still, they made it, right? And he did not let his partner down, who was extremely shy, believe it or not. The young man had not expected that at all from his Faunus partner, a complete opposite from his usual personality. But he had been friendly enough, at least he thought so.

He tended to have quite the bold impression on others, but the swordsman was also just content to see how this partnership as well as the partnership he shared with all his other teammates went.

Speaking of teams, this was the team naming ceremony or something, was it not? While everyone was settling into their spots, Navajo had two things in his pocket, a pair of firecrackers as he began putting up small fliers for a small private detective club or something. A minor organization meant to investigate bullying or theft or any of the other stupid stuff school and the people within brought with them. Best to start small before working up to maybe more interesting or more exciting stuff, right? Further explanation on his plans regarding it all was best reserved for later. For right now, Nav finished up putting up the fliers around this ceremony area before taking a quick look at Reese and gave a pair of thumbs up with a toothy smile as he quickly joined her along with the rest of the first years, the freshmen.

"You and me are gonna rock that stage, no matter what team we're on. Hell, we'll rock the team we're on, even if we got to carry it, ya' hear?"

He knew the girl was shy and that the stage area might not be the place she was most comfortable with, but he hoped encouraging her would give her a spark of confidence to walk on stage like she deserved to be there. Because, in all reality, she did. Anyone who could fight and communicate well, no matter what social awkwardness they had, was good in his book for simply being brave and strong when it counted.

As the head mistress Sersi began introductions and other such topics before even getting to the team naming things and grouping individuals up, Navajo would do something entirely different. He would simply lie down, prop his head up with one arm and have the other one tapping the floor a few times. Why? Because he did not feel like standing around, wasting energy until the actual important part of the ceremony began.

Navajo yawned began to doze off. The real fun would begin once he was up on stage.

Sersi began listing off people and team names. Navajo would give a peek at each person out of one half-lidded eye, remembering their names and faces relatively easily before resuming his small nap in between all the applause and cheering.

The most that came out of him was a simple phrase. Not in a mean way, just very lackluster and lazily.

"Yeah, let's go. Fish guy is the best of us all. Whoo hoo."

Suffice to say, Navajo was impressed by the fact someone used a fishing rod-like huntsman device as a weapon of all things, but he was also very confused. How did it work? Why that particular choice in weaponry? Everyone else had reasonably designed mechashift weapons. Even Reese with her

Finally, it was time for the main event. The real showstoppers. The team that can't be beat.

    Team Tangerine.

Reese would find a friendly pat on the back from Navajo if she found herself hesitant to go onstage. He would simply smile again.

"This is it. We're badasses now, Reese. Let's do it to it."

And as he began up those stairs, he raised his arms and began whooping and hollering a bit, just a fun little shenanigan for everyone to laugh at. Or with. Whichever worked just fine. Finally, the group was assembled, their team name was given, and the Tangerines were ready to get into some action!

But first, a quick address to the head mistress. A minor joke.

"So, let me guess because I'm detecting a bit of a theme here. Every group's name starts with the same letter as the leader. So, do you make the group names and pick leaders based off of that? Because, sheesh, you might want to come up with a better system!"

He chuckled as he glanced over and overheard the two other teammates, Jas and Turin, talk to each other. Navajo did not care much. He only stepped forward.

And boldy pointed at the crowd of huntsmen and training.

    Before issuing a challenge.

"Alright everyone! All you top dogs and star students! We're coming for your spots. We're taking them. We're the best team you all will ever see. So, you want to prove us wrong? Try and go through us."

Navajo smiled. It was more viscious, almost animalistic if not for a certain challenging gleam in his eyes. The spark of a fighter, one with a competitive streak.

"But it'll be more accurate to say Team Tangerine will go through you. As for whatever bullies and asshats that reside here, pull any shit and we'll bury you. Period."

Clapping his hands, he smiled before beginning to head off stage and giving a lazy wave, leaving the group and probably exiting far earlier than he should, but he was tired of standing around.

"But, besides that, nice to meet you and I hope we all have an awesome year together. I know I will! Let's do it to it!"

He made fist pump in the air before making a figurative mic drop with his hands before he began heading off stage with his hands in his pockets and his hood down, exposing all his rather rogueish features, if he did say so himself.

After all, teams were picked, right? The main event was done. No need to stand around for any more of this ceremony, right?

    Right?

Besides, he needed to figure out what food to get for these people. And, if he was not in trouble with the Principal or anyone else, he would begin with this simply phrase to both his team and the other teams once they left.

And he would have the most innocent and inviting smile ever. And it wasn't even faked as he popped off the two firecrackers and waving them around in celebration.

"So, who's hungry? I say we all grab a bite to eat. And I mean all of us, all the teams. Y'know, like some snacks or something. Oh! We should all get burgers or pizza! The food of champions, yeah?!"

Assuming, yet again, he was not in any sort of trouble. Hopefully. He was fine. Right? Yeah, perfectly fine.

He hadn’t stop thinking about the trial after its conclusion. A black and green-striped hoodie was drawn over his head as he stood within the mob of gathered Hunters. His hands were tucked into the comfortable pockets of his jacket. Ice-blue eyes gazed back into his own mind barely blinking. The Trial had been the first exam he had ever taken where he didn’t try. He had done the bare minimum. He didn’t try to out-perform anyone or kill more Grimm than necessary. He just got by, and when he encountered his partner, he allowed him to do most of the work. He watched his back and that was all that mattered. Soon enough, they had acquired a scroll, and the trial was over. It had felt so strange.

Within the pockets of his jacket, his hands were trembling a little. At Atlas Academy, he would have tried to get the most kills and strove to out-perform the other cadets in competitive madness. Doing less had never felt so good. A pleased smile curled the corners of his lips. He hadn’t been thinking about what his partner may have thought. The emotion Eros had felt at the outcome had been worth it. It had been liberating.

Kazuto Fujihara, Eros Chartreuse, Iris Volkov, and Camilla Azotz…

Eros’s eyelids closed over his eyes in a blink that stirred him from his thoughts. He gazed passed the numerous heads at the stage, realizing that his name and those of his new team were called. He removed one hand from his pocket, passing it over his green head to push back his hood—he didn’t want to be rude. He waded through the applauding crowd, found the stairs, and ascended them to the stage in the order he was called. While standing before the blinding stage lights and cheering audience, out of his peripherals, Eros saw that both females were faunas.

An amused smirk quirked on Eros’s face, and his eyes closed in a sheepish expression as he thought, Looks like I’m the team zookeeper… He would have never dared to make such a comment aloud. It was going to feel a little strange being the only human. Back in Atlas, Faunus were a minority. Now, he knew what it felt like. After the announcement was made, he followed his former partner who was now the leader. He filed off the stage, and once he was back in the crowd, he drew his hood back up over his head. He remained for the other teams to finish being announced. Team Tangerine, apparently, didn’t want to take the praise and go silently.

The wild one had been a little too energetic for his taste. As soon as the ceremony ended, Eros turned to leave. It was about time for him to get ready for bed. He held up his hand as he walked away and bade to his team, "Goodnight."

____________________________________________________________________

Staring blankly forward towards the stage and the woman that stood on it the entire time, even while the other students conversed with one another, Kazuto kept silent as he processed everything that had happened that lead him to this moment. Hunter. He was a hunter now, even if he may simply be one in training, he was still registered technically as a hunter in his own sense. He never believed that he would've reached this point in his life, thinking that he was going to be spending the rest of his life as either a tea merchant only to eventually be dragged back to his old life when the White Fang found him. But no, he was here and he was now a hunter. Excitement built up in his gut as it took every bit of his strength not to just jump and scream for joy right on the spot.

While his thoughts wandered, his attention was quickly directly fully upon the woman before him on the stage that was known to be the headmistress. Listening to her little speech before the large screen flashed to life behind her when she announced teams and who was going to be apart of them. Seeing his image appear first only fed the excitement inside him until the three other faces showed up only for one of them to be spotted as a familiar face almost instantly. It was another Faunus, and not just any ordinary one, a female bat one that had blindfold over her eyes. "Oh...no. She's here...?!" Whispering under his breath, Kazuto immediately started turning his head from one side to the other in attempts to spot her. Normally enough by this point, he wouldn't mind being around other Faunus or let alone humans after serving customers of many different varieties at the teahouse but this specific one, he had a history with this one and he had no intentions of possibly having her recognizing him and end up revealing who he truly was.

During his search for the female bat Faunus, the sudden call of his name had Kazuto jump in place, believing that he was caught for something that he shouldn't had been doing. Avoiding any eye contact with anyone, the instant the headmistress stated that he was the announced to be the team leader, he quickly swung his head straight forward with his slitted pupils dilating into tiny slits and his jaw dropping in disbelief as well as shock. "HUUUH?! W-W-Wait a minute! Th...There's some k-kind of mistake!" The fact alone that he had gotten into the academy with his record not being an immediate reason to refuse him, facing Grimm during the trial with a partner that he was also now teamed up with and not dying wasn't all enough of a surprise? Sighing heavily as the ceremony continued without a hitch, Kazuto hung his head as he slouched over in defeat.
As the final team was announced and the ceremony appearing to come to an end the sound of applause and cheering echoing around the large room had him cover his ears as he turned around to stare at those around him, catching the human male that was on his team; Eros, was waving while he made his way to leave the room.

"Guess its ove--" Whispering his own comment to himself, just as Kazuto prepared to leave as well, a rather random and overly energetic voice spoke up out of the rest of the crowd. The person speaking up was someone named Navajo apparently, his enthusiasm was definitely something special but rather than speak up to him, Kazuto simply pulled his own hood over his head before making his way around the other students in the room and head for the exit. Even if he couldn't find the bat Faunus at the moment, the fact that she was on his team meant that he was going to eventually find her anyway. For now, the best thing he could think of to do was to head to the teahouse and let the elderly couple that took him in know the good news about his acceptance and being assigned into a team.

Alstro Edelweiss

...Rowdy. It was really rowdy. Alstro didn't need to look at the crowd, there was no point in that, he could tell from the tingling underneath his skin. Excitement, glee, envy, annoyance, boredom, it all mixed together into a swirl that twisted his insides like always. Although it was much better than the social events back at home, there was a sense of hopefulness around, that was a rare thing in Atlas. He was worried that he stood out too much in the trial, his arms and joints still hurt a little from the maximum overdrive shot he took at an airborne grimm during the tail end of the exam. Alstro was never used to standing out, it was the one thing he was strictly forbidden to do in the past, and it made him too tingly, not a sensation he was numb to yet.

The fortunate thing was that the only person who knew that was him was his partner - A boy name Sidon who used a fishing rode-like weapon. He was a simple man, as many of the hunters and huntresses were in Mistrial, spending time with people like that was pleasant, a little solace from the muddled air. Sinking back deeper into his cloak Alstro closed his tired-looking eyes and waited for his name to be called.

His teammates all looked much more energetic than him, not just limited to that Sidon kid. In fact, the other first years also did, especially the one that gave a half declaration half speech. Alstro didn't even take off his hood, he looked quite half-hearted and exhausted, too much to be considered a huntsman. But Alstro knew better to doubt himself just from surface levels of energy, his Faunus type is one known for stamina. Even right after the trial his condition barely changed while many other students who started off much more bouncy slowed down significantly.

That doesn't look great in an opening ceremony though, that's why he hated these events, it's not just the tingling feeling.

"Congratulations." He said plainly to Sidon with a small greeting gesture. "I pray that leadership will not stress you a great deal, I won't hesitate to lend my assistance if need be." Stress was one of the more nauseating emotions to detect, Alstro hoped it wouldn't be in the air a lot.

"So Magnolia, what do you think of this gracious team? I'd say we got a shot to be best in our year no?' After all with our skills combined we surely give the others a run for their money!"
Oh great. He's peppy. Go team! That's bullshit. Why couldn't she just have been with her brother? Then she wouldn't have to meet new, annoying people like that douche who's mouthing off to the headmistress.

"I guess, if that's how you want to look at it.."
She responds, though she will acknowledge the guy is decent in a fight. However, he seems quite confident and she's not sure if he can back it up, to be perfectly honest. Hopefully the only one who hasn't said anything yet, the girl, is more chill than these two seem to be. Otherwise, she's going to be in for a hell of a ride these next few years.

Every thought in her mind screeches to a halt as the previously mentioned douche, aka Navajo, decides to declare war on the whole school. For a bit, she just watches him parade around, looking like a fucking idiot, but when it seems he's finished his little celebration, she steps in front of him, crossing her arms.

"Who the fuck do you think you are? You certainly don't speak for me and now you'll be lucky if you ever speak again. Because I've decided from that that I'm not on your team. Three person team now. So if you get hurt, I'm not helping you. And you aren't getting any more attention from me, seeing as you desperately need it. Now, do me a favor and fuck off before someone makes you."

Turning to the other two people in the group, she lets out a forced smile.
"I'm willing to get food with y'all, I suppose."

  • "Listen, I got the skills, the talent, and the can-do attitude. So let's do it to it!"
    Navajo Shatterghast
The Man With the Awesome Plan Navajo blinked at first.

Then blinked a few more times as he raised an eyebrow.

One of his teammates was yelling at him. Nav did not like yelling much, unless it was to alert someone to something dangerous or to make sure someone heard you. Those he could understand, especially in their given contexts of trying to grab someone's attention in a not-hostile way.

    But this?

This was hostile. A little bit. Not completely. But there was a certain threat implied clearly enough.

Now, the young gunslinging swordsman could understand why she was upset. Really, he could. But all of what he did on stage? It was for very good reason, for himself and even for the group.

He just hoped he did not have to explain those reasons. They might have been selfish or they might have been not. Everyone had their own perception of right and wrong in this world, didn't they?

So he kept his voice and demeanor casual, not letting it get to him. Not much could anyway as he circled a little closer to the team to keep eye contact with her as he spoke.

"Who the fuck do I think I am? I'm Navajo Shatterghast. Ace maverick and up-and-coming private investigator. At your service, of course."

He gave a friendly wave as he said that before bring a hand to his chin. She had said that he was on his own, that she would never help him, and, of course, there was that threat said beforehand.

Welp, maybe she was not too friendly with him but he could be friendly with her, right?

"Is that so? Well, first off, I don't care if you help me or not. But always know that I'm always down to help you. I've got no hard feelings. Honest."

He smiled as he leaned a little bit dangerously close, a smile fit for a predator flashed for a moment before becoming more human, almost. More casual and friendly than before.

"And, if I wanted attention, I'd have gone to Atlas to cause all sorts of trouble. Second off, friendly advice, don't make threats you can't or won't follow through on. That and watch the language. Saying 'fuck' so many times makes you seem more annoying than intimidating. Trust me on this. I'm an expert."

He gave the implied challenge. If you said a threat or said you were going to do something, follow through with it or prove you would. Otherwise, either shut up or say you are not going to do it after all. Do not let stuff like that hang in the air. It serves no one any purpose.

So, if she was going to start a fight with a teammate, she better well have meant it. Otherwise, no more threats from her would hold any weight from now on and into the future when it came to any further interaction.

After that, if not fight occurred or she did not take a swipe at him, he backed up his face before briefly booping her on the nose. Just a simple one and quite easily telegraphed too, although that was on purpose. If she dodged or tried to swipe at his digit or hand, he could easily recoil it back. He would say something like
"Boop" if he did manage to succeed.

"You really should let go of all that stress. Gets you grey hairs. Besides, I'm sure if you walked up back on stage and told everyone that I don't speak for you or the team, then everything will be sorted out. Noooo probleeeem."

And there was nothing hostile about that either. Such, another implied challenge in the sense at Nav wanted to get more of a read on this person, this Jas individual, and see if she would go up and try and sort things out or find it a lost cause.

Either way, he would learn about her. And it would be important for any more of shenanigans or future self-initiatives that were separate from the group.

After all, if she was a rule follower, people pleaser, or overall uptight person, it could prove troublesome for his future operations if she tried blowing the horn on all of them.

So this was a minor test to see how this whole team thing would work out. It was necessary.

Turin

Turin had figured that it was a moment of getting to know one another in celebration of His team's formation, but of course reality would rear its ugly head, and conflict would emerge to ruin His day. It appeared Magnolia and that other boy known as "navajo" had already gotten to an argument, seemingly over the aforementioned navajo's ....behavior up onstage. Admittedly, he was rather impressed by the boy's boldness, basically proclaiming that they would be "creme of the creme' to the whole school. A point he didn't disagree with by any means, although he could have said so more...tactfully. At this point turin was starting to feel this tactless attitude might be an issue to handle later down the road, nonetheless he needed to de-escalate the situation as fast as humanly possible. Before things got....bloody. "Now now my friends surely we can simply let this go no? After all we can't start something This early on, let's forget this now and save face. After all, a bad impression can be worse than any blade ever could be".

Turin placed himself between the two before they could even get the thought of escalating any further with actual blows. Not that he had anything against letting the two duke it out for their honor( or annoyance) . But it sure would reflect badly on HIm if he let it slide in front of the many many seniors and peers watching. These two were sure to be a handful, add that in his lack of leadership experience and you have yourself a turbulent ride. "How about this, let's just go and relax? Isnt't time to go celebrate instead of just standing here?" He urged to the duo with the calmest tone he could muster.

After maneuvering his way around the large crowd of students and other surrounding staff, eventually Kazuto found his way to the exit. Pulling his hood off his head, he'd stretch his arms out before taking in a deep breath through his nostrils and finally exhaling. "Finally..! Gods it was getting stuffy in there. Now, looks like there is still a bit of sunlight. Surely they won't be asleep yet." Commenting his own words to himself, he'd proceed to head down the steps that lead up to the school grounds and making his way across campus to head directly into the city.
During the walk there, he kept to himself the entire time avoiding making any eye contact with those around him, especially humans. Knowing the reputation of what Faunus have within the kingdom of Mistral, the sight of seeing a student from the academy who was a Faunus was most likely shunned upon even moreso.

Passing by a rather large restaurant, the sounds of multiple glasses dropping and shattering all over the floor had Kazuto stop in his tracks just to lift his head and direct his attention towards the sound. It was a young male, a Faunus more or less just from the sight of his small deer antlers, he had slipped on a small patch of water that a few customers had spilled from their drinks while he was carrying cleaned plates to another table. The sight of the shattered plates on the ground had him in tears as he dropped to his knees upon the shattered pieces even if it caused multiple cuts on his flesh as he picked up the pieces before placing them upon the tray he had been carrying around. It wasn't long before a middle aged woman, a human, stepped out from the inside of the restaurant with an angered expression across her face. Without so much as a word just so that she wouldn't have to embarrass herself in front of her customers, she pressed onto a switch that she hid in one of her pockets. The switch causing a collar to shock the young Faunus with an electrical dust amulet at the throat, forcing him to speed up in cleaning the mess even if it caused more cuts upon his hands and knees.

The sight of this had Kazuto gritting his teeth as well as forming a fist in one hand while he clenched the sheathe of his blade in the other. These were the kind of people that he believed the White Fang had every right to be attacking and stealing from. However, knowing that if he were to do anything at this point, it would tarnish his chances of becoming a full fledged hunter, he had no other choice but to turn the other way and continue his way through the rest of the city while only watching several more occurrences of Faunus mistreatment in other ways all over the city.

Although it took several minutes, Kazuto had finally reached his destination; a place called 'Zane's Teahouse'. Standing outside the entrance even while there were several customers sitting outside enjoying their drinks and snacks, he could only stare at the sign while reminiscing about the time he had here. Slowly but surely, he'd make his way inside seeing as to how there was new staff employed since he had been gone. A variety of both Faunus and human made their way around the room bringing customers their orders. Kazuto on the other hand headed directly for the the door that was behind the counter while a human older looking male attempted to stop him from entering and stating that it was only for staff. "Let me pass. Please. I used to live here." Informing the employee who was in disbelief of Kazuto, he continued to attempt and keep him from the back. Before Kazuto could lose his temper however, the sudden yet unexpected 'bonk' onto the top of his head caused him to swing his head around, prepared to shout at who hit him.

Finding it was old short woman and the elderly man that raised him, owners of the teahouse that had done so; caused Kazuto to widen his slitted eyes before bending over to give the two elderly folks a light yet overly passionate hug. "Uncle Zane! Auntie Min! L-L-Look look! I..I got accepted!" With his excitement, many of the guests and other employees took their attention onto the trio while Kazuto held out his scroll to show upon the screen his official hunter in training title. The elderly couple only gave warm smiles and nods as the old woman patted him upon the top of his head lightly in an approving manner. "Then what're you doing Kazzie? Doesn't this mean, you should be back at the school...getting to know your classmates?" The elderly man spoke up causing Kazuto to lower his head a bit further and avoiding eye contact. He wasn't sure if he could bring himself to let the couple know that a person he knew from his past was there and even moreso, she was on his team, let alone realizing to tell them that he was once apart of the White Fang and that he had killed many people.
"Ah...hah, I mean..it was just the opening ceremony. I can meet them all later on when I have classes. I wanted to come here...and tell you both first...and..well, also ask if I can spend the night here. At least one more time..."

Eros had left just in time. It was strange that the loud kid’s own teammate would have a problem with his exuberance, and she tried to embarrass him in front of the whole school. That girl must have snagged the wrong scroll, and he was glad that someone so hot-headed and unstable wasn’t on his team. He was also glad that a show-boater wasn’t on his team. They would have made it difficult to be at peace and vibe at his new school.

Once he was out of the auditorium, he headed for his dorm room. While the day hadn’t quite been over for others, it was over for him. The trial had taken up most of it, and he was tired. Back in the room, Eros removed his jacket and hung it up in the closet. He stripped out of his clothes and entered the bathroom for a hot shower. Once he was finished with his shower, he dried himself off and removed only a fresh pair of boxer briefs, and a gray beanie. He tugged it down to his brows and with a large yawn, he approached his bed, pulling back the covers. He plopped on his side upon the mattress and drew the blanket up to his temple. Closing his eyes, he felt himself focusing on his muscles. They ached. He could feel how much he had contributed even if it hadn’t been too much. He liked the feeling. It was what progress felt like.

The world around her was buzzing with excitement as she stood towards the base of the stage. By the way sound bent within this large auditorium she could tell she was facing the right way, the stage just before her and the Head Mistress standing atop it. Cami could barely remember what it was like to be blind without her semblance there to act as her eyes. Her semblance was unique just like all semblances were, it was always active but during a fight could become more active and certainly dangerous. For now, however, it was in its base state, the way it had been when she first discovered it, it was as though in her mind she could see the way sound bent around her and thus could see the world once again. It wasn't the same as truly seeing of course but it was enough for her to be able to operate on her own, even fight as well as a huntsman with all their senses.

As the teams were announced she stood on the stage before departing and standing with the rest of her team to the side. These three would be the three people she would be training alongside for the rest of her time at Haven Academy. Though she couldn't see her faces she could still recognize them by their unique sounds and the way the noise in the room bent around them. Now she would be able to distinguish them in a crowd. As the ceremony continued she had little reaction to the loud young man on stage. His actions made no sense to her and so she just stood and listened along with the rest of them. It seemed he was challenging everyone which was an odd thing to do but then again she wasn't the best judge of what was normal and what wasn't.

After the young man finished his speech another voice started. This voice belonged to a girl, the boys teammate, and she seemed very angry. As Cami listened she sighed and turned to walk away, her cane and weapon swiping across the area in front of her casually with each step. Turning her head she gave the impression of looking back at her only teammate who hadn't walked off at this point and stated, "I'm in need of snacks. Would you rather stay here and listen to this or come with me?"

Sidon Phinn

He was the leader? That was certainly an outcome Sidon was not expecting or prepared for. Was he ready? What made him qualified? Was it some sort of mistake? It was both exciting and daunting to find out he would be in charge of the newly assembled team. Surely there must have been other candidates but still, somehow the role fell to him. Alright then, don't let your crew down. He told himself as his surprise turned to determination to be the best leader he could be for his team and hopefully future friends.

As the next several teams were announced one boy took the stage and gave a speech about how his team was one to look out for. The confidence stirred excitement in Sidon as the extremely extroverted young man clapped and cheered as the speech came to an end. "WOOO! GO TEAM TJRN! YEAH!" He cheered happily. He knew they were a totally different team from his own but still it felt good to cheer them on. He never liked putting people down so even if this guy on stage was challenging all other teams Sidon would happily support him and his team along with all other teams because that was the right thing to do. Just like each teammate is supposed to look out for one another, Sidon believed wholeheartedly that each team should look out for one another as well.

Turning to look at the young man standing beside him Sidon noted how tired Alstro looked and gave the young man a genuine smile when he heard his words. "Thanks, Alstro!" He replied warmly to the words. "That means a lot man." He added and hoped his new teammate would understand that he truly meant his words. "And if there is ever anything I can be doing better or differently just let me know. A ship can't sail without all crew members playing their part, right?" He added with a thumbs up. "Do you guys want to head back to the dorms? I brought some fish from home that I could make us for dinner?" He offered as he looked around at his newly assembled team.

Reese Yavalla

Team: TJRN

Location: The Auditorium

Interactions: Jas, Nav, and Turin

The first challenge hadn't been anything like Reese expected, especially when she became partnered with a young man who was far more extroverted than she ever could be. He had practically fallen out of a cavern shaft right in front of her during the start of the challenge, an event that caused her to go invisible instantly but she quickly revealed herself when she saw he wasn't a threat. Nav and she had worked well together combatting the Grimm on their way to fetch a scroll, at one point he even teleported her up above a King Taijitu so she could cleanly snip one of its heads off from above while she kept them undetected. They retrieved the scroll and Nav talked almost the whole time which she didn't mind because it meant she didn't really need to speak up except in fights. She hoped eventually she would feel comfortable enough to converse with Nav as well as the rest of her team but knowing herself she knew it would take time and likely some encouragement from Ray.

Now as her team had been announced and Nav had given a rather loud and attention-grabbing speech Reese was struggling not to completely cloak herself in invisibility and run away. While Nav had tried to encourage her as they were going on stage, any courage she might have had disappeared the moment he began challenging the entire school. Her ears were flat against her head in surprise and fear as all eyes looked at her and her team and she could feel her soul leaving her body. Her anxiety only increased when another member of their team, Jas, began to go off on Nav and she both understood Jas's response but felt bad for Nav who she believed was trying to be a good teammate in his own way. All the attention had Reese ready to die and it took every ounce of control for her to fight off going invisible and running away. Some parts of her were beginning to be covered in her cloaking semblance as she buried her lower face into her scarf to hide from the conflict.

"P-please st-st-stop f-fighting." Reese finally said but it was little more than a whisper. She didn't want her team to fall apart before they ever really had a chance to come together. She might be painfully shy but she knew the importance of a team when attending a huntsman academy, she had heard all about it from Ray. Icy blue eyes looked from one face to another as her plea was drowned out by Turin whose words were far louder than her soft whisper. He seemed to be of the same mind as she was though so she was grateful he had stepped up to calm the storm between their two teammates. At the suggestion of going off and relaxing or celebrating she nodded her head silently, trying to encourage the idea rather than continuing to fight.

Hodur Lazuli

[/JUSTIFY]

"Crap" The young Lazuli vaulted over a bench before dodging and weaving through the massive crowd of people gathered outside Haven academy. as he burst through the large doors, earning a few dirty looks to which he immediately return and rolled his eyes, Hodur seemed to have made it just in time hearing his name as one of the last called. "Just in time" he smiled slightly before practically flipping onto the stage to greet the people he would train and fight with for a very long time "Team TMHK(tomahawk) huh," he asked jumping off the stage once another team was called. It had already been a long day for the boy, with escaping from his parent's home, dodging his brothers and sisters so they wouldn't tell his parents, and then having a run-in with security just before making it to the airship.

Earlier that day.....

"Khione I'm just going into town, there is no reason to tell mom and dad" Hodur explained, watching his younger sister with the hope that for once she would listen to him "hmm every time you say that you always manage to get caught by security, so why would I waste my time helping you when you'll just get caught and sent back to the practice room where you belong" the girl huffed, icy blue eyes resonating with the dark purple locks that laid against her chocolate skin in a similar fashion to their mother. "I'll buy you a new sword" the boy rolled his eyes and the girl perked up with the coyest grin she could muster "I want a dust sword, take it to the smith and have them make me a weapon like yours" she exclaimed, squealing like a stuck pig. "Now you know dad would kill me if I gave you a weapon like this without you having the proper training." he pointed to his hip where Winter's Bane sat in its compact form which resembled a small dagger with a dust crystal pommel. "but it's not fair you have Winter's Bane and I don't get anything, at least I could use my semblance before I was fifteen" she stuck her tongue out and Hodur seethed quietly, wanting to hit her upside the head.

Hodur turned on his heels and vaulted out the window "good for nothing siblings " he mumbled when he could hear the girl screaming for her parents whilst on the roof. "better get going" he sighed and flipped off the five-story house before landing in an alley and running as fast as he could toward the waystation. With lazuli security hot on his trail, he had to lose them before he could make it to the ship but by the time he lost them the ship had taken off and was now floating slowly upwards into the air "Crap" he muttered running full force to the edge of the platform before pulling winter's bane from his side and clicking the button to make it shift into its original bow form "I really hope this works" he cringed before flipping into the air and using the bow to shoot an exploding arrow at the ground, he activated his semblance as the flames and heat kissed his cheeks and was blasted upwards towards the ship "WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO" he yelled as he soared through the air before switching his bow to spear mode in order to stab the ship and hang on without damaging it. he flipped himself upwards onto the deck and sheathed his weapon, waving at the lazuli guards who were yelling obscene curse words from the platform "Tell good ole Oceanus and Scyan that ill be back when I'm ready" he called down laughing at the top of his lungs.

Current Time...

Hodur crossed his arms and his stomach growled rather loudly "guess running away from home works up an appetite" he looked to his teammates who had yet to address him "Anyone want food?"

vio

the introvert

"I suppose we're all a team now"
Vio's gruff voice addresses his new teammates, not a trace of a smile on his face. This is probabaly the closest to kindness they're going to get, at least for a while. He's not the most....enthusiastic person. He flinches at the noise of a cheering man, rolling his eyes when the boy continues on.

He zones out for a bit, being brought back in when he hears a familiar, angry voice through the crowd. Oh no. Not even five minutes in and Jas already hates this place. This is going to, for lack of better word, suck. Not only will she be unhappy, he'll also have to deal with her complaining for the next few years. Not to mention the potential target that kid just painted on her back. Shit

His attention is brought back to the team when their new leader offers to make them dinner. He seems nice enough. It would probably be easy for other people to take advantage of their group, due to that niceness. However, Vio doesn't want to be on a team with an asshole, so he supposes this is as good as it will get.

"I'd enjoy that. Anything to get out of here"
A chuckle seems to indicate that he finds the situation amusing, though his face remains unchanged and uncaring.

Having a teammate come racing in the last second certainly wasn't what Mercy expected but it was amusing non the less. She watched as the young man vaulted up onto stage just in time to be announced and couldn't help but wonder how he did in the first challenge with that sort of agility. She was excited to get to know him, his skills, and his weapon since he seemed like such an interesting character already. In fact, each of her teammates seemed very unique from what she could tell which only fed her excitement at getting to know and work with them. She hoped they wouldn't mind her inspecting their weapons and perhaps adding or suggesting some upgrades that she would happily provide for them.

While many people turned to focus on the one team that was currently blowing up at each other Mercy kept her attention on her own team. She was used to dramatic teenagers, she had to put up with so many of them at the high society Atlas events she and her father attended, so the drama club behind her was nothing new. Instead, she turned to look at her own team and smiled. "Running away?" She inquired with a curious smirk. "Sounds interesting. I'd love to hear more about it over dinner." She informed him with a teasing flirty wink. She was clearly just having fun, being her normal flirty self, and wanting to make sure the mood stayed light for all those on her team. "Speaking of which, I would love to treat you all to a meal. It sounds like a wonderful way for us to get to know one another." She added as she rolled with Hodur's suggestion at grabbing food. "I think there was a cute little ramen spot I passed on my way to the academy this morning." She informed them.

Throughout the entire ceremony of naming the teams as well as who would be apart of which team, Koji spent most of his time just staring forward through his smirking jester mask at audience of students and staff. So many unfamiliar faces and yet also so many faces that were clearly showing signs of either jealousy or anger behind their smiles and cheers. The rather unexpected appearance of another person entering the room had caught him off guard as it appeared to had been the missing member of the team on the stage. Tilting his head at the sight of the rather late appearance, Koji could only chuckle under his breath as to how he spoke of 'running away' and about grabbing food as if everything was just fine. "Truly, this will be quite the exciting life.." He'd whisper his own words to himself mid-chuckle before tipping his top hat over his face ever so slightly.

Rather than being the first to speak up, one of the females on the team spoke up about treating the team to dinner, however, the way she had worded it at first had Koji laughing quite heartily. "I was about to say! I thought you were going to only take this fine gentleman to dinner! Surely, if that were the case. I would not mind informing our dear Faunus friend here that we shall intervene on what may happen for the rest of the evening." As Koji spoke, he couldn't help but to continue to chuckle at the thought of how friendly his teammates were already with one another. One could only hope that they were not going to be too overly uptight as the year went on.
"So, shall we all take our leave of this rather wonderous establishment? Surely the professors will not mind if we do not introduce ourselves so soon before the first class begins."

With the first night under her belt, Cami still wasn’t sure how to feel about the majority of her team. Iris seemed to be easy to get along with which was a relief since they were not only teammates but partners as well. Eros it seemed had a strict schedule that he stuck to which meant he was in bed and asleep not long after the team naming ceremony, something Cami couldn’t understand for the life of her since she was such a night owl. And then there was Kazuto, their leader, the one who seemed to be avoiding her like the plague. The moment the team naming ceremony ended he had taken off to who knows where and not come back until very late. When he entered the room she was still awake and did her best to greet him as she figured a normal person would but in return she barely got a word out of him. The young bat Faunus hoped it was just the fact that he found her personality to be odd because that was something she was actually working on but feared that he might be uncomfortable with her eyes. Her lack of sight had a tendency to bug some people, make them uncomfortable, and if that was what had him acting off around her then it was about to be a long next four years together.

Sighing Cami walked the hallway with her cane folded at her side rather than in her hand. In a place like this, the sound waves were easy to read, and she didn’t need her cane, in fact, most of the time she only used her cane to trick people into thinking she was more helpless than she actually was. It also helped that the cane was also her huntress weapon and so no one ever thought to have her remove it when entering a weapon-free area, she could get it past most security without a care. Here at school though she wanted it to be clear to everyone that even without her sight she could still function and navigate as well as the rest of them, perhaps even better than some.

Entering the first class that all the new students would be taking together Cami listened for the sound of someone familiar and smiled when she detected Iris. Approaching the seating area, she placed her books down before running her fingers over the tiny bumps that told her the name of the book. She was rather excited for this class, Grimm Lore & Anatomy sounded all too interesting and very useful for any huntsman or huntress to know. “Who will be our professor for this course?” She asked Iris as she listened around, awaiting the professor's arrival.

“Wakey wakey everybody!” Sidon called out to his team as he entered their dorm with his arms full of food. “I wasn’t sure what each of you would like from the breakfast line, so I got a bit of everything!” He informed them with a smile as he juggled the plates over to the table against the wall of the room. “I know our first class starts soon so eat up! Team SAAV is gonna blow the other teams out of the water!” The young dark-haired boy was clearly excited for his first day of classes with his team, his smile wide and genuine as he did his best to try and keep the small group motivated.

As those who were hungry ate the food he brought Sidon happily ate along with them and did his best to keep the conversation flowing though he knew those who had just woken up were likely still tired. His mother always told him food was the way into anyone’s heart and he hoped those words would ring true for his team. He didn’t want them to just be a team, he wanted them to be friends, a family even. He didn’t really know them all that well yet but he hoped that small things like shared meals would be a good starting place for that sort of relationship to grow. He also hoped that he would be able to figure out how to best do right by his team as their leader.

“Alright guys, class starts in…” He looked at the clock and his heart skipped a beat. “FIVE MINUTES? What happened to the time?” He gasped and jumped to his feet to gather all his books into his bag. “Come on Team SAAV! We gotta go!”

Reese Yavalla

Team: TJRN

Location: The Hallway

This school was far bigger than her brother had made it seem during their talks while he was away. She had always meant to come to visit before her first day but travel from the settlement could be difficult given the unpredictable weather of the Atlas tundra. Now Reese felt like she would be lost forever as she wandered through the vast halls and courtyards of the school. She had told her team she would meet up with them before class but it seemed she did not know exactly where the class was and had been wandering around for nearly thirty minutes with no hope of finding any faces she knew. She did her best to stick to the walls, trying to go unnoticed by older classmen and staff alike. She wasn't sure she would be able to deal with interactions at this point and wished her brother was there to show her where to be.

Already she had run into a few punks who thought it was funny to give her false directions. When she followed the route they gave her she ended up walking into the janitor's closet when they locked her in for several minutes before another student left her out. Now the incredibly shy young Faunus was even more afraid to ask for help from strangers and so she continued to wander around with her books held tightly to her chest as she jumped at every little sound. She was afraid the older boys would find her and scare her again or lock her someplace worse than the dirty closet she had been in before. Her skirt and blazer of her uniform got quite dirty when she fell into the cleaning tools after being pushed into the closet which made her even more self-conscious in her current situation. Luckily there seemed to be no sign of the boys but that didn't mean they couldn't be around the next corner.

With her head tucked closer to her books so she could hide her face the young Faunus sighed softly and glanced around at the intersecting hallways. They all looked so similar that she wasn't sure if she had walked down them before or not. She didn't want to be late to her brother's class on the first day but also hoped that if she was he would know she was not intentionally skipping. Looking down at her uniform she did her best to try and brush off the dirt that stained it but it was no use. Deciding to keep going rather than stand in place like an idiot Reese turned right and began walking down the hall, hoping it was one she hadn't already explored.

Mercy Avriel

Team: TMHK

Location: The Dorms

Interactions: Hodur, Teddy, Koji

So far Mercy had to admit that she already pretty much adored her team. After their shared meal last night they ended up staying out for a bit and exploring the city around Haven Academy. Koji had dazzled a few kids with some card tricks which was quite entertaining to watch as she sat with the children and braided a young Faunus girl's hair around her antlers. She was also amazed by how much food Hodur could consume in one sitting and kept ordering more to see how long he could go for. Eventually, they ended up attempting the Ursa Bowl Challenge and Hodur came within seconds of beating the standing record time. It was such a delightful night that Mercy hoped the team would be able to have more of during their time as students. Teddy had been excitedly cheering both boys on during the night alongside Mercy which left the young Atlas-born girl with the feeling they would be great friends.

Now as the morning rolled around Mercy was preparing herself for the first day of classes as the team moved around their dorm. She couldn't even think about going to breakfast after how much they ate last night so instead, she took a few bites of an apple she had saved as she tied a few locks of her hair back and out of her face. Looking around she spotted several of her teammates also getting ready and reached into her back to grab some more fruit. "Anyone want one?" She asked as she held up an orange she had stowed away. "I think I have another apple and a banana too." She added as she got up from her seat and grabbed her scroll with her free hand. She had checked her email when she woke up that morning and was delighted to see her charity foundation was operating smoothly even though she wasn't there, the group she worked with knew to call her if anything major happened and she also was able to monitor everything remotely. Her father had sent her a message about how much he missed her so she already knew she would be calling him later because she truly missed him as well.

Grabbing her bag and putting it on her back she turned to start exiting the dorm to head to their first class. "I'm gonna start walking if anyone is ready and wants to join me." She offered with a smile as she opened the door and waited a moment to see if anyone else was ready to go.

Spending most of the evening with his fellow teammates even as they explored the city and academy, Koji took mental notes as to certain magic tricks as well as jokes were found rather offensive to some of the locals here; one such as him commenting and joking about whether there was a possibility if he could get some raw slices of meat from a Faunus into his meal so it could tasted like sushi. All jokes aside though, Koji did learn quite a bit about each of his teammates even if some of it just basic knowledge here and there.
When the rest of the team had decided to head back to the dorm rooms for the evening, Koji had decided to stay out much later just to continue exploring for the hell of it. Exploring on his own lead him into a local bar that he was quite unaware was going to be a rather dangerous place to be. Since he wasn't supposed to be there due to not being of drinking age, he was told to exit the bar by some of the customers as well as the bartender. Brushing aside the warnings and demand to leave as though he hadn't heard them whatsoever, Koji headed straight for one of the stools before taking his seat and tapping the wooden surface of the counter with his index finger. "A glass of your finest wine, sir." Chuckling his comment even while knowing that he wasn't old enough to drink but hoping that with enough money, he could bribe the bartender since the customers weren't exactly in any position to be demanding him to do anything.

"Hey! We're talking to you kid! Get out of here! You're too *hic* to be here!" A muscular drunkard male shouted as he waddled his way over behind Koji just to place his large hand upon Koji's shoulder while the other attempting to reach for his mask and remove it to get a full glance at Koji's face. The sensation of being touched and seeing a hand at the corner of his mask's eye slit coming for his mask had the male quickly reach up to grab the wrist of the stranger to stop him. "Ah. Ah. Ah. No touchy touchy. You'll ruin....the magic..." With those few words, he'd reach into his pocket with his free hand just to pull out a single deck of cards before they scattered into the air and began hovering in place. They quickly all came down while still hovering before slowly closing in one the man that dared to attempt and touch his mask. The more the cards came in, the more the man's movements became restricted till he appeared to be getting squeezed by some sort of invisible wire before pleading for mercy. The bartender seeing this was quick to pour Koji a glass of wine in concern, this having Koji release the wiring squeeze before the cards quickly gathered together once more into a deck and laid themselves upon the countertop. For the rest of the evening, everyone within the bar avoided him even as he appeared to had gotten drunk off just a few sips of the alcohol and acted overly friendly with those around him only for others to laugh along with him out of concern.
Eventually, Koji left the bar and headed straight for the dorm rooms even if he hadn't finished his single glass of wine.

    ---

The following morning, Koji woke only to sit up on his bed for a few minutes before leaving to freshen up and returning to the dorm room where his fellow companion; Mercy, was already up and offering a morning snack to the rest of the team. "Hmm, naww. I'm good on food. I'm all set for class if you guys are, what's first?" Questioning those around him, he headed straight for the exit of the dorm rooms along with Mercy.

    the asshole

Not wanting to be around her team any more than she had to, Jas had slipped out early this morning, noticing the other girl, Reese had decided to leave as well. She'd spent some time reading in a sitting area before class, but figured it was about time for her to head over. Though she would rather not, as that asshole would be in her class as well. At least her brother had the same schedule, so she could spend some time with him. Well, it's not like they didn't spend a lot of time together, but she'd rather him than what's-his-face.

The two had talked quite a bit last night, after the spectacle yesterday. And it was obvious to anyone who knew the pair that Vio was concerned about his sister. To be honest, she's concerned for herself as well.

Walking in the room, she sees two people she doesn't recognize so she just takes a seat, making sure to put her legs up on a seat to save it for her twin.

The alarm on his cellphone sounded at 1AM. An arm snaked out from beneath the blankets and found the nightstand where it rested. Grasping the device, he abducted it beneath the covers and silenced it. A long, tired sigh escaped his nostrils as he turned over onto his back. His other arm folded down the blankets, revealing his face scrunched up and mouth agape with a large yawn. He had achieved ten hours of sleep, and he felt well-rested. Sitting up, Eros swung his legs out of bed and rose to his feet. He placed his cell phone back on the stand and proceeded over to his dresser drawer to change. While he rummaged around for a workout shirt and shorts, he peered over his shoulder at the other bed and noticed that their leader hadn’t returned.

Jumped ship already? he thought as he removed his heart shirt only to replace it with another one, but with the red outline of a heart.

He adorned dark-green shorts, black socks, and a highlighter-green pair of running shoes. He placed his pajamas in the hamper and flipped through some jackets, coats, and hoodies for some outerwear. He slipped on a green hoodie and stepped over to his desk to retrieve his cellphone and earbuds. He was finally ready for a few hours of training.

Pressing his earbuds into his ears, Eros left his bedroom, walking with purpose and vigor as his music flooded his ears and body. Once outside, he started his jog. The academy grounds were quiet for most students were in bed. The air was fresh, and the sky was clear. The pagoda architecture of the classrooms and dormitories were a reminder that he was no longer at Atlas. He was in a foreign country, and it only excited him. He truly had gotten away from his father.

It had been leg day and after his 5K, he went to the gym. The beauty about being up so late was that very few people if not no one was in the gym. He had it all to himself. Working out was like meditation. Mentally, he went someplace. He trained until he couldn’t lift anymore and called it a night. Around 3AM, he returned to his dorm room to shower and change. Afterward, he flopped right back into bed to rest his muscles. Normally, he would have used the rest of his time before class started to complete homework and study, but this was Day One.

An hour before class started, Eros got breakfast from the dining hall. Eggs, bacon, oatmeal, a banana, and a small bowl of berries. He savored a cup of coffee to help him survive the rest of the day. After breakfast, he headed to class with a backpack. Once he arrived, he pushed back his hood, found a seat nearby his team, and rested his backpack on the floor with a heavy thud.

Oh god, I hope I survive this, Eros thought. If the bookwork was boring, then even with caffeine in his system he might still nod off.

Ray

Ray had been setting everything up today he would be a little more easy on the students. It was there first day and he was also excited to be teaching his little sister. Though the next time they met for class he’d be back to his usual self and make sure his students paid attention the more they goofed off the more he would assign them. He wasn’t as bad as Grimm who took pleasure in making the students fight and suffer when they misbehaved or well just in general to be honest. Though Ray himself wouldn’t tolerate goofing off and pranksters in class they were all here to learn not play around. Also he knew more about the situation at hand then the students did so worry flickered within his blue orbs as he finished setting up his paperwork. His ears twitched hearing movement outside the classroom so some students were finally arriving. Ray’s long, fluffy tail swayed behind him lightly as he moved to stand in front of his desk awaiting the students to enter.

He watched as a few entered within he had a light smile upon his face. Though he said nothing for now awaiting all his students to arrive that way he could address them all at once. His tail swayed behind him lightly the tip flicking a bit every now and then as he watched more students arrive. Ray’s arms crossed as the time began to length there were still several students missing and time for class to begin was drawing near. The sharp blue gaze scanning the students faces noticing his sister wasn’t among them it wasn’t like her. She wasn’t exactly one to be late well sometimes but not for the first day nor his class since she’d been so excited about it. His posture changed becoming a bit more stiff and serious getting a little frustrated now with the students as you’d think being on time would be most important on the first day of all things.

Nothingness Nothingness

After completely demolishing the eating competition that evening Hodur decided to find an archery range to brush up on his skills before the start of classes the next day. As the group broke off to do various activities, Hod saw a sign for a shooting range and decided to take his leave. “I’ll catch you guys back at the room” he waved before turning down a dark alley that was only illuminated by a small arrow that pointed down the alley and read ‘Haven Shooting Range.’. As he walked down a couple of guys stepped in front of him, one a fanus with a long lizard tail and the other a man holding what looked to be a dust-powered gun. “Where you going shorty” the guy with the lizard tail spoke up with a slight hiss in his words while the other guy backed him up “yea, this shooting range isn’t a playground for little kids. Why don’t you go run back to your little school” the serious look on Hod’s face changed to one of utter amusement “pleeeeeeeasseeeee” he dragged the word out while twisting one of his locks around his finger “this little kid could shoot better than you blindfolded and with a bow” he laughed and moved to walk past them but the lizard guy moved his large tail so that it was blocking the way. “Why don’t you prove that punk” the man with the gun stepped to the side, gesturing for Hod to walk in.

The range was fairly small and run down but that was to be expected as it was hidden in an alley crawling with creeps. The building went silent as he walked in and hod simply rolled his eyes before pulling a handkerchief from his pocket "ten targets" he mumbled and wrapped the handkerchief around his eyes so that it completely obscured his vision. He reached to his side and flipped winter's bane from its resting place before pressing the button that causes it to spring out into a recurve bow, he then pulled the string back and clicked the side of the bow with his finger to increase the number of arrows he could shoot at one time. Now with five arrows nocked, he took a deep breath and slowly began to release the string. before the strong could leave his fingers, he heard the sounds of gears turning and immediatley realized the targets were starting to move and shift among themselves. "You guys must really want a show" he sighed and tilted the bow a little before realeasing the string and letting the arrows fly towards their targets. he pulled the string back once again and fired another five arrows, smirking when the crisp sound of arrows hitting wood echoed throughout the small shooting range. He ripped the blindfold off and saw that all the targets had been hit relatively close to the bullseye and Hod frowned slightly "not my best work" The men in the range began cheering and clapping for the young archer while the fanus and man from before silently snuck out the back with an embarressed look on their faces.

After showing off for the people in the range for a few more hours, Hod decided with was time to head back to the dorms as he would have to be up early to start the first day of class

-Next Morning-

Hod was up before most of his team and began his morning with silent push-ups in the corner of the room. It was weird to him having to share a room with other people and even weirder having to be quiet inorder not to disturb them. By the time the entire team had finally woken up, Hod had did a full work out and was now returning to the room from the showers, his locks still wet and dripping water. As he was getting dressed he heard the team talking about classes and mercy had offered to walk to class together. "Im down" Hod finally spoke, lacing up his boots "Im not sure what class we have first though... do we all even have the same class? is that like a rule?" he rambled slightly while pulling on his blue jacket "Either way im excited" he smiled and flipped winter's bane through his fingers before clipping her to the ring on Hod's waist.

Iris

Iris listened to Cami as they headed to their first class her gaze flicking to others giving a scowl at anyone who looked towards Cami funny. As they walked she looked around not just at students but getting familiar with the halls and such wanting to remember the way for later. Once they arrived within the classroom and took seats her body relaxed some.”Oh I’m not sure the only one I know about is someone called Grimm because apparently he’s really er terrible.”she said having heard all kinds of rumors about him. Then as she was talking a sweet scent wafted to her being a wolf Faunus her sense of smell was elevated. “I smell something sweet!”she said excited always willing to dig into candy or bakery items. “Oh there’s the teacher it must be that one girls brother. I think her name starts with an R like his does either way they look exactly alike other then him being super tall.”she said amused to Cami.

As some of the time when by and she chat with Cami she noticed the teacher seemed to be growing stiff looking annoyed.”Oh I don’t think he’s very pleased with some of the students running late.”she whispered looking around.”I think we are only missing a couple people though but I think his sister is one of the missing ones.”she said as her gaze scanned the faces of students once more. She was also curious to why this room smelled so sweet maybe Ray had goodies hidden away though only time would tell. “When do you think the others will arrive?”she asked Camilla quietly not wanting to get on the teachers nerves but he seemed focused on watching the door for the remaining students.

Tempest certainly had her work cut out for her with her team. She hadn’t expected for everyone to get along incredibly well but their current situation was already proving to be a challenge. Reese would take some time to warm up, but Jas and Navajo were like oil and water. She wondered if there was any form of common ground between them. Perhaps a mild disregard for authoritative figures, but that didn’t mean good things for her position as their leader. Hopefully being from the same region would at least let her talk a grain of sense with her fellow Vacuan, maybe even get him to stop subtly egging on their more hostile teammate.

Jas, while mildly abrasive, would be a tougher cookie to crack. She’d personally seen what the girl could do and they’d worked well together all things considered. Surely they’d find a way to match that teamwork again. Their team could be as formidable as Navajo seemed to think they would be, she’d just have to find a way to make it work. At least she’d had some time to strategize before their first class and, as a result, had a few solutions in mind to save the whole team from embarrassment on their first day.

As luck would have it, she wouldn’t be walking into class completely alone. For once, the shyest of her teammates was easy to spot wandering… The wrong way. At least Tempest wasn’t the only one having a rough start to the day. She cleared her throat with the intent to warn the Faunus that she was approaching when the leader of another team came speeding down the hall. The only thing she had time to do was cover her eyes and look away from the impending impact. Oh yeah, definitely not the only one.

She approached her two classmates, eyes filled with concern despite the growing smile on her face. The whole debacle had been almost comedic, so much so she found keeping her composure to be an impossible task. “Are you two alright? That couldn’t have felt good.” She called, offering a hand to each of them. “Can’t have you two out with concussions on the first day.”
