"Welcome students to your first year at Haven Academy! I am your Head Mistress Sersi Jadis and on behalf of the staff of this fine academy, I would like to express how thrilled we are to have you joining the ever-growing ranks of hunters and huntresses in training. In your time here you will learn and grow in ways you never thought possible and do things that will push you to your limits and further. Your teams, once assigned, will become your friends, family, and greatest weapon in the field. You will train under some of the finest hunters and huntresses I have ever known and will get first-hand experience as you embark on missions with members of the staff. I know you are all the finest of students seeing as you made it through our entrance exam and so I have no doubt that greatness is in store for each and every one of you. Remember that while you are here you represent the school, the staff, and your fellow students. What you do can and will have an impact on yourself as well as others so remain vigilant and put your best foot forward as you start your new journey."

The Rules:

IC Rules (Can be broken for fun character reasons) -
  • No unsanctioned fights between students!
  • As a student, you cannot take on missions without a staff escort or the approval of the Head Mistress!
  • Never let a creature of Grimm loose on another student or in the school! Exceptions are made for professors during combat training!
  • Dust is meant as a weapon, not a toy, treat it as such!
  • Never for any reason use your weapons on innocent civilians, it is our job to protect them from monsters, not become the monsters ourselves!
  • The breaking of any of these rules will be met with swift and just punishment!

  • This is an advanced RP so you are expected to write 2-3 paragraphs per character you rp!
  • I want to keep this thread alive so I request everyone try to reply to the rp regularly! If I do not hear from your for a while I will reach out and if you still do not post your character is kicked but can be brought back if you decide to join again!
  • No silver eyed characters, at least not yet. Not sure if I will ever allow them, we will see.
  • I reserve the right to ask you to alter or change your character's semblances altogether if they are too overpowered!
  • I am trying to have all characters as first years so please make your characters ages 17 or 18!
  • Make the thread dramatic but create no drama between RPers! I want this to be a fun environment for everyone!
  • Semblances are unique so do your best not to copy another characters semblance!
  • None of the RWBY characters from the show are part of this RP so NO ONE knows of, has met, or is related to team RWBY or any of the other teams and characters from the shows!
  • Please keep semblances and weapons original and try not to take too much from the show (similar weapons and semblances are fine but don't fully copy a show character)!
  • The Maidens are not part of the RP yet and are also a big secret still in the RP so none of our characters should know about them! (Excluding NPC staff characters and the Head Mistress)

Special Scars or Markings: If you look under her eye cover you will find her eyes are clouded and she has vertical scars over both eyes. The scars come from the criminal who took her sight when she was attacked for being a Faunus when she was younger and visiting Atlas.

Personality: Cami isn’t really the most social person in the world and tends to be very quiet and honestly awkward when around other people. She has a hard time trusting and depending on others after things that have happened to her in the past when she was blindly trusting of others as a child. She doesn’t like people thinking she is weaker or can’t keep up because she is blind but also loves when people underestimate her and she gets to prove them wrong. She can come off as rather blunt about things but this is a mix of her simply being honest and awkward. She doesn’t get all social queues but is learning to be better about it. Once she warms up to you she is very warm and affectionate, always inviting you out to meals, making you tea, and offering to study with you. She is very attentive to her surroundings since her other senses make up for her lack of sight which makes her an excellent companion in the field. She probably needs someone to help her learn how to deal with others a bit better, a good friend who can aid her in navigating social situations. She is also a huge night owl.

History: When Cami was young she did very well academically, so well in fact that her scores actually began to open doors for her that began to bring the hope of the future for many other Faunus across Remnant. When Cami was nine years old she was offered the opportunity to attend an elite school in Atlas which had never allowed Faunus before. Her mother escorted her to Atlas since she was so young and on their first night in the floating city, the two were brutally attacked. The attack was made to look like a hate crime against Faunus with Cami's mother being beaten to death trying to protect Cami and the little girl being violently beaten and blinded. Because of the appearance of the attack many believed it to be the act of humans attacking Faunus, it wasn't until later that Cami learned the attack had been done by members of the White Fang who viewed her success as a threat to their mission. Cami's home life was never the same after that and when she needed her father most he turned his back on her, blaming her for the death of her mother. Stress, depression, and grief caused Cami to lock herself away from all others as she learned to navigate her world of darkness alone. Eventually, she managed to begin pulling herself out of her depression as she began to be grateful for the senses she did still have and took a great liking to music as well as the simple sounds of people around her talking, birds chirping, the wind in the leaves. During a Grimm attack on the beach one day she discovered her semblance as well as her desire to protect others so they won't have to experience the pain of loss as she has.

Weapon Name: Moon Burst

Weapon Description: In its resting form Camilla's weapon looks like a walking stick for someone who is blind, solid, and in one piece. However, her weapon actually comes apart to make a straight blade kusarigama with chains that she uses as whips and for grappling objects and opponents. When they are combined they also acts as a double-sided spear with the usually harmless ends becoming the blades of her weapon. Moon Burst also has a hidden ranged mode in which the blades of the kusarigama open up to become twin pistols.

Semblance: Sound (My girl's semblance also acts as her eyes. She can sense and make out things and people through sound and can also weaponize sounds by amplifying it and nullifying it. Because of this she can make sound waves that are ear-splitting for someone and nothing for someone else if that makes sense. One of her uses for it is to cancel sound around herself and her team for stealth or to enhance the sound in the ears of her enemies (such as grim) to the point that it knocks them unconscious or kills them (it hasn't evolved to that level yet). She basically controls sound waves and can even manifest them into a physical force if she concentrates enough, doing that wears on her fast though. Since she is still young and mastering her semblance it can be draining and has its limits and will evolve like any semblance do.)

Why Are You Here: To protect people from each other and the Grimm so less people have to have loved ones ripped from them.

Sidon Phinn


Name: Sidon Phinn

Name Meaning: "Sidon" - fishery

Special Scars or Markings: He has a lighting-shaped scar going up his arm from his first tussle with an electric eel-type Grimm, it was during this fight that his semblance manifested, and now whenever his semblance is active the scar glows.

Personality: Sidon is an absolute puppy dog! He is friendly and funny and loves to make people laugh. People often think that because he is so chipper that he is also naive about the way of the world but he truly isn’t. He knows there are bad people, he knows you can’t trust everyone you meet, but he also knows that everyone deserves a smile and respect. He often surprises people with how great of a fighter he is, especially since he tends to act like a clumsy fool but mostly he does that for laughs. He is very selfless and would give you the shirt off his back and would never dream of leaving anyone behind. He is stubborn as a bull when he wants to/needs to be and is not easily swayed from doing what he thinks is right even if it isn’t what is smart.

History: Sidon comes from a small fishing village on the coast of Vale. It is the sort of town where everybody knows everybody and neighbors help each other out in times of need. It is also the sort of town that is too small and poor to be able to afford any real protection from the Grimm or get any real help from the Vale government. Because of this Sidon grew up watching his friends, family, and neighbors fight for survival on land and sea every day and still find reasons to smile and be thankful. He knows that a lot of the veterans of the town are getting too worn down to continue the fight and knows that it is his time to step up. He has been fighting alongside many of the other villagers for most of his life both to protect the village and the boats out on the ocean which has allowed him to specialize in fighting land and aquatic Grimm. It was actually while fighting an electric eel Grimm that he discovered his semblance. He is now attending Haven Academy to become a properly trained Huntsman so he can defend his village better.

Weapon Name: Kingfisher

Weapon Description: Kingfisher is a weapon Sidon takes great pride in. It is a giant fishing rod weapon with a dust vault in its reel. The hook of Kingfisher is a sharp and very strong hook blade with a strong metal line to hook his prey, trap it, reel it in, or even be used for transportation purposes in combat. Kingfisher can also become a claymore sword for close-up combat and larger threats with the top of the claymore able to curl into a hook with the push of a button. For ranged attacks or multiple threats, Kingfisher also has a machine gun mode that Sidon can set up in an instant. The is also a button on the side of Kingfisher that releases a powerful jolt of electricity into Sidon for a quick semblance power up.

Semblance: Electricity. Sidon is able to absorb electricity and redirect it like a lightning rod. If he can't manage to get a hit of electricity he is able to focus and absorb it from the world around him though that does take more time than just getting juiced up with electric dust or a shock from an electric eel Grimm. He is able to use the electricity to make himself faster, get an adrenalin rush, or simply shoot at his foe. In time he will also learn how to send out what is basically an EM Pulse as well as a few other handy electric tricks.

Special Scars or Markings: She has a mark on her chest that she has had for as long as she can remember and has made her official emblem.

Personality: When you hear stories of the Huntress with a Grimm Heart they are almost all chilling tales that paint her as some looming wolf in sheep clothing. However, for those who know Sersi it is hard to believe the stories could ever be based on her. Yes, her semblance may be what it is but that doesn't mean she is anything like the Grimm. Sersi cares very deeply for others, she might not always show it but when it truly matters it is plain as day to see. She does not wear her heart on her sleeve but holds it close to her chest when it comes to her personal feelings but when others show vulnerability she will do her best to protect them. She pushes her students to be the best they can be but never at the cost of who they are as a person, she would never want one of them to be so caught up trying to be perfect that they no longer care for themselves or others. She can be very stern when she needs to be and isn't afraid to deal out punishments when it is deserved but if a student does something not in line with the rules for a good reason she might just let it slip through the cracks. She is a very passionate woman when you get to know her, she loves romance novels and a glass of wine, she loves seeing her students grow, she loves helping those in need. Unfortunately, most only see her as a monster and she has faced so many years of being called such names that she doesn't even try to correct them anymore. She would never turn on the people she is trying to protect and she wishes with all her heart that they would understand that. When you are a friend or loved one she holds you very close to her heart and lets you see past her emotional wall to the woman she is beneath it. Betraying her if you are in her inner circle is one of the most painful things you can do to her because she does not truly let people in easily and to be betrayed would certainly rip her heart to pieces. If you betray her and attempt to get in good graces again you can be assured that she will never put down her walls for you no matter how civil she might act. She has a sharp tongue and can be very witty but also knows how to keep a calm and cool demeanor when dealing with those who are difficult. If you attempt to hurt any of her students while she is present you had best have your coffin picked out because she will go total mama bear mode on you and will not be pulling punches.

History: Will unfold with the RP most likely. Just know that she is a famed huntress who is known for being very good at her job but also someone people are terrified to deal with. When she was made Head Mistress of Haven Academy people all across Remnant were shocked and upset by the news since they believe her to be two-faced. So far she has been a shining example of a Head Mistress but eyes all across the world are waiting for just one slip up to try and take her down.

Weapon Name: Shadow Grasp

Weapon Description: Her weapon is a glove/claw based weapon that is extremely strong and sharp and can be used to deflect bullets and attacks as well as be used for fierce attacks with the claws growing and shrinking as needed as well as being launched from her hand for range. There is a bracelet on each wrist that can be used for dust.

Semblance: (Grimm Heart) A famed and frightening huntress with a very unique semblance that has made her a legend and a controversial character across the world. Her semblance allows her to take on the aspects of Grimm she has fought in past battles to the point that she can look almost fully Grimm. It is a semblance that makes many uneasy since nothing good comes from Grimm. Note: When in some of her Grimm forms she has been noted to actually communicate with the Grimm and gain control over a few.

Reese Yavalla


Name: Reese Yavalla

Name Meaning: Reese - Enthusiasm

Home Kingdom or Town: Frozen Tundra of Atlas

Special Scars or Markings: She and her brother have tattoos that go together, she has the star to his moon.

Personality: Reese is a very shy and anxious young woman who does everything she can to disappear out of the public eye. She may be brave in the face of Grimm but when dealing with normal social interactions she becomes soft spoke, nervous, and will even go as far as to use her semblance to escape the situation. Large crowds are a nightmare for her because if she gets lost she has zero confidence to ask for help and will just wander around internally panicking until she finds her way out of the crowd or finds someone she knows like her big brother. In smaller social settings she does better but still is very soft-spoken. Despite her social anxiety and shyness, she is actually an incredibly sweet young woman who loves to share with others, make things for them, and give treats to people she has grown comfortable around. When not training, in class, or performing her duties she can often be found in the kitchen baking sweets for her friends. She also has a seemingly endless supply of candies hidden on her with a compartment for them even being found in her weapon (something she started doing when she realized it could calm children after a Grimm attack). She is polite and can be very funny once she feels comfortable around others. You will see the shy and anxious girl disappear when it comes to protecting others from dangerous threats. There is no way in hell that she would ever let her anxiety hold her back from protecting someone innocent or someone she cares about. Ordering food is a very daunting task to her though. When she gets too anxious she tends to hug her brother's tail, something she has done ever since they were children.

History: Reese was born in the poverty-stricken city of Mantle a few years after her brother Ray. When she was young she remembered looking up at the floating city of Atlas and wondering what life up there must be like, to live in the clouds above the dust and grime of the mines. After a mine explosion occurred in Mantel that resulted in the death of their father Reese's mother decided she wouldn't let Atlas sacrifice any more members of their family and that she would rather risk everything out in the tundra rather than wait for another accident to take her children from her in Mantle. So, with that, the family of three packed up their lives in Mantle and left to face the frigid cold of the world beyond the walls. It wasn't easy and their mother had to protect them not only from the deadly cold but also from the many dangerous Grimm that lived in the frozen tundra. Luckily their mother was a retired huntress and had the skills and means to keep them safe. As they grew they formed their own home out in the tundra and over time more Faunus actually joined them. Their community was small but safe and worked as a family to help each other survive. With her mother as the leader of the colony, Reese had no doubt it would only continue to grow and thrive. She and her brother trained under their mother from the time they could pick up weapons and after a few years Ray left to train at a Huntsman Academy where he got a job. Now it is Reese's turn to attend a proper Academy so that she can learn the art of being a Huntress and also check up on her big brother.

Weapon Name: Snow Cut

Weapon Description: A pair of giant scissors with dust blades. The scissors can be used for attack and defense, the blades strong enough to act as a shield. The scissors can also come apart with one acting as a sword and the other a gun. It also has a hidden candy compartment in the handle.

Semblance: Her semblance is Invisibility. She can create an invisibility field around herself or multiple people in which they cannot be seen, heard or smelled. If someone enters the field they will be able to be detected by that person. They can also be bumped into when invisible. When she alone is invisible it isn’t really a bubble of invisibility so much as it is that she is just invisible. The bubble exists when she spreads it beyond just herself. She can get worn out by having to make the bubble too big for too long but with more practice, it will be easier for her. When she alone is invisible she can stay that way for a pretty long time which is part of how she has survived outside of Mantle and Atlas.

Why Are You Here: To become a huntress so she can protect the people who have made their homes in the tundra outside of the poverty in Mantle and away from the crushing boot of Atlas.

Special Scars or Markings: She has a tattoo of her symbol across her back/shoulder blades.

Personality: Mercy is an icon, it is what she has been raised to be and she does it very well. She is kind, sociable, always puts on a good face for the public because she knows all eyes are on her and her father. Some might view this as a chore but honestly, Mercy adores being in the public eye because it means she can influence people to be better rather than as full of hate as others might pressure them to be. She is known to be very flirty and the Atlas Eye is often reporting which young suitors she has been spotted with recently, but for Mercy flirting is just for fun. She is hard to tie down in a real relationship because she enjoys being free to hang out with whoever she pleases. She is also very independent and doesn't rely on her father or his company to back her up, often leading her own research and creating her own devices which has given her quite a bit of financial freedom. She believes advancements will lead to a better tomorrow for everyone and had made her main focus the field of medicine as well as weaponry to better fight the Grimm. She is a child prodigy with science and engineering which tends to surprise people who see her as just a fashion icon or a pretty face. She is sassy and witty so if you irk her you had best be ready to be put in your place. The only people she ever feels like she ever really needs to prove herself to are those most in need because they are the ones to who she has made it her goal to help with her fortune, research, and abilities as a huntress in training. She is certainly not some little princess in need of saving, people have thought that of her before and lived to regret it because she is the princess who saves herself.

History: Mercy was born into the Avriel family, a family that owns one of the largest tech empires in all of Atlas and certainly all of Remnant. From a young age, she learned that the eyes of the world were on her and that sometimes meant she could become the focus of very dangerous people. Her father, a kind and charitable genius who not only ran the family business but also held a chair on the Atlas council, did his best to protect her from the dangers of the world while also encouraging her to see the wonder it held and the good in people. When she was 7 years old her father's greatest fear came to be. When she was out on a field trip at school a group of thugs kidnapped her and held her for ransom as they tried to bleed the Avriel family dry. Mercy's father was willing to go along with anything they told him but Mercy had a feeling that even with her father cooperating they would still end up killing her. Being just a child the men severely underestimated her as well as her abilities and so she went to work hatching her own escape plan. Young Mercy managed to build herself her first real weapon from the common household electronics that were scattered about the room she was locked in and when her captors came to take a photo to show she was still alive she struck. Her escape made headlines all across Remnant but Mercy didn't care because she was just happy to be back with her family. Over the years more attempts have been made on her safety and life but Mercy has been prepared for each of them with her own personal weapons which she continues to upgrade. In an effort to combat the cruelty she has experienced at the hands of others and the cruelty she knows many others experience every day she has started her own foundations to help those in need, those who need help, or those just struggling to survive. She is now working to become a huntress because she knows that it is a way to better be able to help those in need.

Weapon Name: Angelic Arsenal

Weapon Description: This is a very advanced wing-type weapon made from the latest Atlas technology. The wings are capable of flight, resisting large amounts of pressure and damage, as well as being used as weapons themselves. The "feathers" are made to be able to be launched and scattered similar to how a Nevermore launches its razor-sharp feathers. The feathers are then instantly replaced with more stored within the wings and formed from dust so they can change effects based on what dust is currently being used. The back of the wings stores collapsable mechanical twin blades which can be removed and used in combat with their own dust compartments. Her halo can also use dust that can be charged up in order to release a powerful beam meant for taking down larger prey. The wings and halo respond to cybernetic implants and her wings are also capable of blocking attacks and being used for hand-to-hand and close combat as well since they are more than capable of cutting through a Grimm.

Semblance: (Aura/Semblance Amplifier:) Can temporarily boost another person's aura to heal them or boost their semblance to cause a temporary rapid semblance evolution. This takes from the wielder's aura and must be regenerated over time.

Why Are You Here: Because she feels the need to protect others in any way she can, she has been given so much and wants to give back financially and with her skills.

•Her mother named her after a flower she saw when she first met Iris’s father.

Special Scars or Markings:
•She has several large scars on her back where a Grimm attacked her as a child. She was fleeing with her parents when it happened in the end her father ended up dying to protect them long enough to escape.

Personality:
•A spitfire thing she’s always going about things headstrong usually not thinking before she acts. She’s not one to hinder her words so she tends to be very blunt and honest about everything. Iris doesn’t see the need to be super soft and quiet as life is short so why not enjoy it while you can. Now she can be very serious when it comes to matters since she knows there is a time and place for everything. Despite seeming like a hot headed punk she is actually very clever and cunning. She tends to let people think she’s a hot headed idiot when in reality she’s very observant and quick thinking. Iris is also rather charming when she wants to be but most the time she can seem like a little much. When she likes someone she can tend to be a bit more shy not wanting to make them dislike her.

History:
•She was raised in Mistral where her parents worked hard and tried to keep her safe. One day when Grimm’s attacked the area they were in it forced Iris’s parents to flea with her along side everyone else. Unfortunately her father died trying to hold the Grimm’s off of them until they were in a safer location. Iris watched her father die as her mother held her and ran for their lives she soon saw some hunters take out the Grimm’s making the area safe once more. After that day Iris was never the same and she vowed to kill all Grimm she came across.

Weapon Description:
•Wields twin battle axes that double as dual pistols. The weapon also comes together to form a double sided axe.

Semblance:
•Wolf’s Howl: Iris’s semblance causes her hair to turn into flames. The flames are able to move the hair around as if alive hence why they look like fists. They cause damage to others but she can only do it for so long before her hair tries to act on its own or damage a teammate.

Why Are You Here:
•She wants to prove herself and take back what belongs to them all. She won’t stop until all the Grimm’s are destroyed.

•She grew up a pretty normal way. There wasn’t much action or craziness in her life for the most part. She also was often sleeping her days away anyway a bit of a lazy person. Teddy never really had any motivation for anything until she saw a Grimm attack. The scene had been horrible the monsters attacking people she knew and strangers luckily none of her loved ones suffered. However after that day she seemed to spark back into life and that’s when her parents sent her away to train at the school.

Personality: A haughty sort of fellow, not malicious in his pride. But it certainly brings quite a bit of trouble as he tends to make irrational decisions based on the assumption that he can do anything and everything, that no task is too hard or nothing is unattainable in his pursuit of glory. Some call him brave while others call him....more unsavory names. Despite this, he isn't loud and boisterous nor meek and soft spoken. Instead he is firm and assertive of his beliefs and actions, albeit done in a more playful matter most of the time.
History: Born to a small band of marauding rogue huntsmen, who were a rather infamous lot. This specific band of misfits was too inconvenient to waste resources on, so they're usually "hired" as a Free Company. Riches were made and glory was gained, these stories and way of life shaped Turin to who he is now, whether it be for the better or the worse. To his father it was the latter, he believed turin needed to be humbled. A opinion not shared by turin himself, either way. It was decided that turin must return as a full fledge huntsmen or face becoming an outcast. Seeing his hand was rather limited he accepted his "trail"....whether he makes it remains to be seen.

    Eros is a 5’10”, 175 lbs young man with an athletic build. His most noticeable features are his vibrant green hair and sky-blue eyes. His hair was once blond, but he dyed it green upon transferring to Haven Academy. When not wearing his school uniform, Eros likes to wear comfy clothes—sweatpants, loose T-shirts, and hoodies. His iconic T-shirt has a heart on it. He will at times be seen wearing a backpack and being the butt of all turtle jokes for how big it appears. Some think its loaded with books not knowing that it’s his weapon.

    Beneath his loose clothing, Eros is muscular, having spent majority of his hunter life under Atlas Academy’s strict physical fitness regimens. He might have transferred schools, but there are still conditioned habits that he carries with him. Staying physically fit and keeping his hair in professional shape being two.

    Personality: Eros lives a regimented life and those who don’t know him consider him lazy and never serious. He will get up early in the morning before class starts and before most students are awake to workout. In an hour and a half, he gets his workout in, returns to his room for hygiene and breakfast, and then heads to class. After a long day of class and studies, he has a three-hour window to eat dinner and study before he goes to bed to repeat this life all over again. Some students consider him lame for going to bed so early and not hanging out.

    Sometimes Eros’s muscles are sore from his early morning routine, and so during training sessions in class he is never at 100%. He will appear to not take training seriously, asking his opponent to go easy on him. He isn’t the type to expect any optimistic, energy-fueled speech or cheer of positivity. Eros says it like it is and he tends to just want to get the day over and done with. Late into the day, he becomes tired.

    Eros is very laidback and hard to offend. He has a healthy sense of humor and will be the one to crack a joke when the situation is tense. Atlas’s structure was more stressful with added nonsense that he feels like he is on vacation in comparison. He had never been the type to drink the koolaid, and so he will proudly do what he wants to do and live how he wants to live.

    The former cadet is reliable and good at keeping secrets (mainly because he forgets them). He will only break his routine for people he likes (and it doesn’t have to be romantically). Eros has a lot of secrets of his own, and he isn’t the type to desire the spotlight or do anything to make someone curious to know more about him. He is confident in his combat abilities and isn’t one to show off. He feels no shame in losing spars, which at times can make the heads of ego lords and ladies even larger, but he isn’t out to impress anyone. Since leaving Atlas Academy, Eros’s life is exactly where he likes it. Balanced.

    Safe to say, Navajo is a bit of a maverick. His upbeat and confident attitude lends itself to him trying to apply himself to everything that interests him without fail. This attitude led itself to the idea of becoming the coolest dude he could ever be and being a huntsman seemed pretty high on the list of cool things to do on the old bucketlist. Besides, money and fame were nice bonuses, but the idea of traveling, fighting, and overall just chilling with potential new friends and helping people in a more legal and official way seemed a nice change of pace from his old way of life. A good change of pace as much as a needed one.

    His idea of fun is kicking back, doing whatever seems great at the moment, and maybe taking a nap or two afterwards. His energetic attitude can reach lows and become extremely lethargic at times, either due to a lack of sleep, boredom, or just adopting a more casual energy to match the environment. His ability to read a room or people is something he can quickly and readily do, adjusting his energy and approach to people if need be while still coming off as friendly. While he tends to make other uncomfortable and can be rather blunt and forward and honest, Nav tends to not care too much about this unless he is either making someone uncomfortable, hurting their feelings, or being genuinely harmful in some way. If and when this occurs, he always finds a way to make it up, usually going above and beyond what one would expect, to the best of his ability of course.

    However, this doesn't at all detract from his keen observational skills and strategic mind. While he has worked in groups in the past, running with other young kids and teens in poverty and forming groups to protect themselves from others, he usually worked best alone as he could operate at his own pace and employ strategies without the need to account for others. He also is not above studying or reading up on things, but he prefers more practical or hands-on experience as long it is not too boring either. On his own time, he does practice alone at the gym occasionally as well as driving his motorcycle around. He has developed his dancing and artistic skills in his time abroad as well, and Nav has demonstrated a thorough grasp of mechanics, at least in regards to maintaining his bike.

    His whole world in terms of hobbies revolves around food, games, books, and all sorts of media and pop culture. Due to having none or not much of these things as a kid, Navajo likes to explore these many different things and learn from these various forms of literature and learning, at his own pace, in subjects he likes. Due to being with nomads for a while as well as being on the run and traveling from place to place, Navajo knows at least the basics of cooking and baking as well as basic survival and hopes to build upon these skills.

    His feelings about being a huntsman, combat, and even his own semblance are complicated. He prefers to fight with his hands if he does not take the fight seriously, is bored, or just is not in the mood to fight or train properly at all. Even if he does decide to get serious, he often uses his katana while it is still sheathed, implying a sense of either underestimation of his opponent or simply not caring to try and deliver any fatal blows. Luckily, with his previous lifestyle, self-training, and remarkable endurance and aura reserves, Navajo can afford to fight for a time like this before needing to either get serious or escape. Navajo also likes to avoid using his ability except in emergencies, situations revolving Grimm, or protecting another individual besides himself.

    The idea behind restricting himself as well as throwing heaps and heaps of challenges upon himself is to usually test his limits, find out what he needs improvement on, and maybe even make a bet or two out of it to win some easy money. His lack of using his semblance is to keep foes guessing on what it is as well as test himself and see what his true strength is outside of his semblance. Using it for emergencies or serious situations where he cannot afford to be lax in using the full nature of abilities are the only times he allows himself to use his semblance outside of the occasional prank, crime, or crazy idea he tends to have thought up, usually with hilarious and harmlessly fun results.

    While he might play the fool, Navajo is anything but one, but, if people happen to underestimate him, so be it. Besides, he prefers not taking things too seriously. There is enough of that as is.

    History:

    Navajo Shatterghast is a man trying to outrun his past. And, so far, he has been quite successful and happy how he has done. After all, Haven is on the opposite side of the world away from Vacuo and, after traversing through both Vale and Atlas for a while to get there as well as forge the documents necessary to get into Haven, he finally might achieve his lifelong dream of living his life to the fullest.

    Let's see where that takes him, shall we?

    But to understand how he got here, one must understand his past.

    Navajo Shatterghast grew up alone in an orphanage in Vacuo. There, no one was treated right. All the caretakers were cruel and callous, and the living quarters were no place to have children grow up until they came of age. Navajo learned real quick how the world worked. Power, people, lien, and more. He saw the connections, the relationships, and he knew that he wanted more to his life than this. He fought and clawed his way through the hierarchy at the orphanage before branching out onto the streets, which is where he was soon kicked out into after causing too much trouble at the orphanage. There, he was really tested.

    Still, he saw something that made him never lose heart. While he saw the cruelty and callousness that even huntsmen were capable of, who were supposed to be protectors of the people, Navajo experienced the kindness and compassion of people, especially from the best huntsmen Vacuo had to offer. People who were genuine.

    Navajo decided right then and there he had to become one of them.

    So he grew up, even at such a young age. He read what he could and, if he couldn't find books, he stole them. His favorites were about knights and ninjas and thieves and magic, all with their various beliefs and strategies yet bound by a code. By honor. By respect and compassion, no matter the various methods each used to reach their goals, their mission, their dreams. He taught himself how to fight, ask questions and wanted to hear stories from traveling huntsmen. His mind was further molded as he grew better at stealing, lying, and conning people but he also learned to be better at giving, at caring, at loving. He protected those he worked with and gave to those younger or worse off than he was.

    Navajo Shatterghast began to gather tools to become a proper huntsmen. Tools and weapons and more. However, he began causing too much trouble in Vacuo. On his way to escape the place before being caught, someone he cared for was seriously injured and lost to him, forever.

    For a time, he was purposeless, listless.

    Until he was found by a band of traveling nomads. For a time, he spent time with them, learning even more before finally resuming his original journey and goal.

    He collected various items, tools, tips, secrets, and experience on his journey, each with the intention of becoming a somewhat different kind of huntsman, one that could hunt people as easily as Grimm if need be. All of his skills needed as a fighter, thief, and gambling con man were put the test quite a few times, but he learned and he managed as he has budding talent in these fields. Still, none of it was formal training nor was it enough. Besides, he needed to get a license from an official huntsman institution. Vale was too close to Vacuo and besides it seemed not as intense as he hoped it would be. Almost boring.

    Atlas was not boring, but it was too prim and proper for his tastes. Besides, some of the trouble and attention he caught in Vale followed him to Atlas, and Atlas brought its own share of troubles.

    Finally, Haven. While Navajo Shatterghast had made a trail of friends, enemies, and everything in-between on his journey, the young man finally outran it all and arrived somewhere that struck a sort of balance he was looking for. Besides, with the reports of increasing numbers in Grimm, he would have plenty of more beasts to practice on as well as more likely to get more missions, field experience, and a greater chance at fighting a wider variety of Grimm than before. Besides, he would finally be put on a team with real people, real friends, and not have to just make passing acquaintances.

    Yes, this was the life he wanted, that he needed.

    And he was going to own every second and say he lived in every moment. He could test the skills he was practicing on fellow students and on professionals. Find out what works and what needs improving.

    The world's greatest maverick (or soon-to-be) was here at Haven now.

    Weapon Name(s): Mav'ron and AceGambit

    Weapon Description: Mav'ron - What appears at first glance to be a rather standard huntsman katana is a rather modified and super-sharp Huntsman-level katanna. Fire dust was used in the super-heating of the metal alloy used to construct its razor sharp edge and, as a result, it has adopted a red hue throughout the entire blade. It is said it burns with the fire and passion of the user, and it can be felt by the opponent who faces it. It has a built-in dust system to accept dust of various types and add the properties of the dust to the blade and blade guard as well as to the bottom hilt.

    AceGambit- A double-barrel revolver with a special system in place to allow the user to either two bullets at a time or one at a time, depending if the user wants more shots or wants more stopping power. It also has a built-in dust system to accept dust and apply it to the bullets. However, this does not make the bullets nearly as effective as ones that already have dust built into them. It is only meant as an emergency system should the user run out of dust rounds.

    Semblance: Pinpoint - A rare teleportation ability Nav was born with ever since he was little and unlocked his semblance and aura at a very young age, considering his background as an orphan growing up on the streets of Vacuo. This simple yet effective and rather dangerous ability allows Navajo to seemingly teleport anywhere, bending space-time for a single moment before ending up in a different location entirely. As long as he knows the place, has seen it, or touched it, he can teleport to it with relative ease. However, longer distances take more of a toll on him, but this process of manipulating space-time to warp from one place to another than be assisted by "pinpointing" objects, people, or places by touching them, imprinting a small fraction of his aura, a barely noticeable amount, onto another object or person. These pinpoints can disappear by themselves over time, usually after a day or two, but, if Navajo so desires, these pinpoints can become permanent for as long as he needs them if he focuses on them each day. However, he is limited in the number of pinpoints he can create and creating too many pinpoints creates a sort of static in his head that can make it somewhat difficult for him to concentrate and accurately pinpoint a specific target.

    "Well, shoot, teach. Principal. It seems you got me red-handed with the whole forging documents thing. Listen, I know this ain't a good look, but I ain't a bad guy. I swear! I only took from those that could afford, and I mean really afford it. And it was a little bit. I'm willing to break rules as easily as following them if it means helping another person or myself. And I'll do that while making every place and person I meet better for it. Honest. I won't spill the details, but, man, I have seen some things. And I think a grounded perspective is needed. Now, I can play the wise guy, the jokester, and the dude with the can-do attitude. I'll support the team, but I am also willing to sit down and guide them on whatever they need or want guidance on. And I'm also willing to take no flak and be serious when the time comes, but I also ain't gonna let that stuff wear me down either. It'll bounce off of me like rain off of an armored truck.

    So, you all make your decision, but I think I would be at least not a bad pick, y'know? And, to be a little selfish, I think it'd be kinda cool in my resume. And I don't exactly work well with taking orders for others. I work at my own pace and with my own strats. A little hard to do when everyone else got fifty different things going on that I can't exactly keep track of. So I think team leader would just help me organize everyone too and keep everyone at a pace I operate at or find a pace to fit the people I'm working with without being screwed over. I dunno. I hope that make sense. I mean, I'm adaptable. Doesn't mean everyone else necessarily is. That's why I'm always going at my own pace. I just am, y'know? This is the most serious I've been in a long time, just airing this stuff out.

Boreas: derives from the Greek god of the north winds, having dominion over winter, snow, ice, and cold weather.
Lazuli: represents the blue colored stone Lapis Lazuli

Special Scars or Markings: Has a large "X" over his right eye that glows upon activation of his semblance, also has various-sized scars on his body from practicing the usage of his semblance.
Personality:

Boreas is a calm, cool, and collected kid who comes off as a slacker to the people that don't know him but works hard to become the strongest he can be. He loves training, sparing with friends, and kicking Grimm butt whenever he has the chance. Boreas is very reserved and prefers to spectate conversations rather than join in but will give his input if it becomes necessary. .


History:
Boreas was born to Oceanus and Scyan Lazuli who were powerful hunters based out of Beacon and was raised from birth to be the heir and weapon of the Luzuli family. Despite having two brothers and a sister, the parents of the Lazuli family always pushed boreas to be stronger even bringing him a breath away from death in a combat test for his fifteenth birthday when they pit him against a Sea Feilong in the middle of the ocean. This is the battle that his semblance was awakened and presented itself as a shield against the gargantuan sea serpent and while he didn't kill the feilong, he managed to drive it away and his parents accepted it as a victory. Fast forward two years and Boreas has enrolled himself in Haven academy in the hopes to become a hunter stronger than his parents.

Weapon Description:
Winter's bane started off as a simple bow but was modified heavily before Boreas entered Haven Academy.
(Resting form): Looks similar to a sheathed short sword but with a dust crystal on the pommel.
(Snow Storm): a recurve bow in which both the bowstring and arrows are formed and powered using the dust crystal at the bottom
(Frozen WInd): when the bow is extended using the button on the handle, it turns into a spear in which the blade is created by the dust crystal.
(Ice Shard): For its last form, Winter's Bane turns into a scythe with the blade being formed by the crystal. in this form, the scythe can create blades of energy through its slashes.


Semblance: North Wind/ Raging Blizzard
North Wind was intended to be a defensive semblance, in which boreas can create shields of razor-sharp snow from moisture in the air but has now learned to use it offensively. The north wind semblance creates a spinning force field of falling snowflakes that cut like blades when touched by him or his enemies, through practice, he has learned to direct this shield to certain areas such as his hands, feet, or weapons.

Raging blizzard is an ability that allows boreas to change his North Wind shield into a downpour of razor sharp snowflakes, this ability harms anyone in the vicinity so boreas chooses not to use this until he absolutely needs to.


Aura color: Dark blue/ Flecks of white

Personality: Kiren is a bubbly, hyper and enthusiastic young man. He enjoys teaching and playing practical jokes on his students. Kiren wasn’t always like this, before he became a teacher he was a top notch hunter and considered one of the best in the game. He was cold, ruthless, and did anything to get the mission done…. Some say he changed his ways because he saw what the huntsmen life can do to someone and now strives to fix this aspect of the important work of huntsmen
History: A graduate of Haven academy and the former leader of team KOPR (Copper) Kiren was a ruthless huntsmen who had almost a perfect track record when it came to his teams missions. His ruthlessness eventually led to the death of his best friend and teammate Percy grinlock, and the eventual disbandment of the team after graduation. Eventually, Kiren saw the error of his ways and decided to quit solo hunting and applied as a professor at Haven Academy, originally applying for the sparring instructor position but ultimately being placed in Aura mastery.
Weapon Name: Scarlet Hunter
Weapon Description: a set of slim gauntlets that have 3 forms; Arm blade, Dust cannon, and Dust claws. The Arm Blade- A medium length blade that extends from a small opening at the top of the glove, dust can be added to create an element blade. Dust Cannon- shoots dust bullets with shot gun force Dust Claws- when the gauntlets are set to fully cover his hands and lower arm, he can create elemental claws using the dust crystals in the center of the glove.
Semblance: Red Blur - A speed semblance in which he moves so fast it almost appears as teleportation.
 
This thread is accepting again! We have one position open and it is a team leader position for team TJRN! The characters name will need to start with T and be okay with being a team leader! We are not far into the rp at all and are very excited to get a new member involved!

    Personality: As the eldest, she fits in a natural place of leadership. She’ll be the first to admit she’s not always going to make the right calls, but she won’t make the mistake of hesitating. She finds her peace of mind in chaos and usually thinks better when there’s always something going on around her. She can get a bit competitive and pushes herself a little too hard at times as a result. She has a tendency to bottle things up for other people, whether it be emotions or pain. She’ll always be there for others before she looks out for herself. That being said, she knows how to loosen up and have a good time no matter what’s going on. She tries to be an optimist while keeping the truth of the situation in mind. She likes to put her everything into her fighting and Semblance, usually having the most fun when she’s in a fight or caught up in a storm.

    History: Family had always been a big thing within Tempest's village, given it was made up mostly of her relatives. As her siblings came to be, her parents put more pressure on her. What started as occasionally watching her sister turned into caring for 4 other children at least while her parents focused on work. Much like any other kid, she made her fair share of mistakes that eventually got someone hurt. While leading an “excavation” with the children of the village, they wandered too far from the safety of their home. None of them knew the surrounding area or, most importantly, where to look for sinkholes in the sand. The eldest of her cousins was pulled into one, it would’ve been a death sentence in any other scenario. That didn’t stop Tempest from trying to save him in the midst of the crying and panic coming from the other kids. She tried to throw him a rope, to pull him to safety, but the force of the sinkhole pulled him further and further. When all seemed lost, she discovered her Semblance and managed to lift her cousin from certain doom. The whirlwind tossed him to safety but not without injury: His arm was broken and plenty of scratches marred his body, but he was alive. And better yet, she’d found something all her own. Despite the good news, her family did not greet her as the hero the group of kids thought her to be. They blamed her for leading them so far out in the first place, claiming she was too reckless to have such a “dangerous” power. For the first time in her 11 years of life, she voiced her very strong opinion: They would never see the good in what she’d done because they wouldn’t be able to accept that they had put her in that position in the first place. From then on she was used as a scapegoat: Every storm that came their way was her fault. Every mistake furthered her poor reputation. She couldn’t keep living with all the negativity no matter how badly she wanted to stay for her brothers and sister. If her family wouldn’t value her, she’d find a new one that would.

    Weapon Name: Desert Whirlwind
    Weapon Description: A large wooden boomerang with serrated edges and hand carved designs. It stands about 4 feet long from end to end. The curve of it fits against her back, allowing her to put enough power into her throws to get it back to her. She often uses her wind storms to get it going even faster.
    Semblance: Eye of the Storm: Tempest can create wind storms able to carry both people and things away. The larger the storm, the quicker she burns out. Everything that gets carried into the storm weighs down on her and shortens its duration depending on what gets sucked in. She can hold an average sized human for up to 5 minutes with unbroken concentration.
