Here is our Character submission page. Everyone is a Dynast Dragon Blood of one of the Great Houses of the Realm. Standard creation rules apply.

There is a major treaty in the works between the Realm and Wavecrest, granting the Realm more access and power in the smaller island kingdom. The final step to ratify this treaty is that a daughter of House V'neef must marry the crown prince of Wavecrest, and stay married to one another for at least a full calendar year. All the characters are aware of this, and for their own reasons, your own Houses have a vested interest in making sure that this treaty is set and the marriage is protected for the next year. Ostensibly, you are all chaperones and escorts of the bride-to-be, be it because you are members of House V'neef or because your own House is getting something good out of this.

Anima Effects
A Dragon-Blood’s anima powers are considered to be of her own elemental Aspect for purposes of her Elemental Aura (p. 162). By spending one mote, a Dragon-Blood may use one of the following effects:
• She may perform minor manipulations of her Aspect’s element: cooling herself with a light breeze, igniting a fire without flint or tinder, causing a flower to blossom early at her touch. These never carry mechanical effects, but provide minor utility and can be incorporated into stunts.
• Once she’s joined a Sworn Kinship (p. 104), she may sense the direction and approximate distance to another member of it.

Air Anima Effects
• For five motes, the Air Aspect can use her reflexive move action to leap an entire range band vertically or horizontally without needing to roll, and suffers no falling damage for the rest of the round. At bonfire, this power is free.
• For three motes, the Air Aspect may deflect projectiles with a gust of wind, imposing a −1 environmental penalty on all ranged attacks against her until her next turn.
• Once per day, when the Air Aspect takes a non-extended social or mental action to uphold a Principle, she adds (Intimacy) non-Charm bonus dice on the roll.

The Dragon-Blood’s mastery of speech and language is synonymous with her mastery of deception. She rolls ([Manipulation or Intelligence] + Linguistics) to create a coded message, designating a single character who can understand it. Through her insight into his mind, she devises a cipher that he can intuitively read — for him, the symbols on the page seem to rearrange themselves to spell out the hidden message. For others, deciphering the message, even with code-breaking magic, requires a ([Perception or Intelligence] + Linguistics) roll opposing the Dragon-Blood’s initial roll.
Alternatively, the Dragon-Blood may draw from one of her Principles to create a code that can be intuitively understood by any character who shares that Intimacy.

To use this Charm, the Dragon-Blood must spend a few minutes contemplating an expression of an elements: observing the movement of clouds, meditating beneath a waterfall, staring unblinking into a flame, or so on; this determines the Charm’s elemental aspect. At the end, she makes a ([Mental Attribute] + [Bureaucracy, Investigation, Lore, Medicine, Survival, or War]) roll with a single bonus success. She may roll to introduce a fact as though she has a Lore background in facts that relate to the Charm’s elemental aspect. An Air aspected use could introduce facts about weather or music theory; an Earth-aspected use could relate to geology, masonry, or architecture; and so on.
If the Dragon-Blood knows Dragon-Kin Empowerment, she may provide the benefits of this Charm to one of her Sworn Kin, guiding him through meditation.

The Dragon-Blood channels elemental Essence into a deadly blast. Air manifests as crackling lightning; Earth as flying stones; Wood as poisoned thorns; and so on. This is a withering or decisive attack with (Dexterity + [Archery or Thrown]) against an enemy within short range, which can be enhanced with Charms of the appropriate combat Ability. The Exalt may spend a level of anima to extend this to medium range.
This Charm’s elemental aspect is the same as the Exalt’s, and it gains additional benefits based on its element.

Air: The elemental bolt deals lethal damage and ignores (higher of Essence or 3) soak or (Essence) hardness from metal armor, including the five magical materials.

The Dragon-Blood lays down a line of salt or germinated grain to keep ghosts at bay (Exalted, p. 506), spanning up to a single range band. The aspect of this Charm depends on which she uses — salt is Earth, while grain is Wood. She rolls (Intelligence + Occult) to determine the power of the warding. Powerful ghosts who could normally cross the line by spending Willpower can only do so if their Resolve exceeds the Dragon-Blood’s successes on her Occult roll. Otherwise, they cannot cross the line. The line also repels other forms of undead, such as zombies or hungry ghosts.

Drawing back the veil between worlds, the Dragon-Blood makes invisible spirits and phantasms visible within the glass. To use this Charm, she must be touching a mirror or a similar reflective surface, such as the blade of a well-polished daiklave. The Exalt can see the reflections of dematerialized characters in that mirror, and can even hear what they say in the form of whispers that rise up from the mirror’s surface. Only the Exalt is capable of seeing the reflection — to others, even the spirit itself, it doesn’t appear in the mirror.
This doesn’t allow the Dragon-Blood to physically interact with spirits, but it can be used in conjunction with magic that does. Using reflections to pinpoint a foe is somewhat awkward — instead of fully negating the −3 penalty for attacking a dematerialized spirit one can’t see, it reduces the penalty to −1.
An Occult 5, Essence 3 repurchase of this Charm lets the Dragon-Blood pay one Willpower to make the spirit reflections visible and audible to her allies as well.
Their attacks against it still take a −1 penalty.

Rending the air with a fierce kiai, the Dragon-Blood strikes that which cannot be struck. She can strike a dematerialized character with an attack made with any Ability. If the Exalt is unable to see her target, her attack roll suffers a −3 penalty.
If the Exalt uses this Charm on her next turn to attack the same enemy, its mote cost is lowered by one. This discount can be stacked, to a minimum cost of zero. Attacking another character or going a round without attacking that spirit resets the discount to zero.

Dragging a spirit halfway into the material realm with her attack, the Dragon-Blood exposes it to her allies. She rolls a gambit using any combat Ability against a dematerialized foe, adding (Essence/2, rounded up) bonus successes on the attack roll. Spirit-Grounding Shout enhances this attack for free. The difficulty of the gambit is equal to (the target’s Essence). A successful gambit weaves gossamer threads of wind through the spirit, binding it partly to the material world. While it doesn’t become fully materialized, it’s visible to all Dragon-Blooded characters in the scene, and can attack or be attacked by them as though it were material.
This lasts for one round, plus an additional round for every two threshold successes the Exalt rolled on the gambit’s Initiative roll.

When darkness gnaws at the roots of the world and chaos threatens the very balance of Creation, it’s the will of the Dragons that restores order. This Charm can supplement an attack made with any Ability, drawing upon the orderly Essence of Earth to strike down raksha and other creatures of the Wyld, or channeling vital Wood Essence to destroy one of the undead. A withering attack adds (Essence) dice to its damage after subtracting the target’s soak. A decisive attack deals aggravated damage and doubles 10s on the damage roll.

The Dragon-Blood’s hostile intent stirs up a current of wind that guides her weapon to its victim. A thrown knife might change trajectory in midair to strike an enemy hidden behind a tree, wall, or similar cover. She may add bonus dice on a Thrown roll for one mote each, and ignores the Defense bonus of enemies in light cover.
In Air Aura, if the Dragon-Blood aims before attacking, she may ignore one point of Defense bonus from heavy cover.
Pact with an Ifrit Lord
You have stood in the court of one of the ifrits or another elemental lord of fire. Beneath the judgment of his burning eyes, you passed whatever test of righteousness he saw it to impose. The pact you struck lets you draw strength from the element of fire and shape its destructive power to your will.

Whenever the sorcerer takes a shape sorcery action, she may draw an additional (Essence) sorcerous motes from any fire within medium range, coaxing its power into her spell. This diminishes the flame—a hallway of torches will be extinguished by a single invocation, while a bonfire might die down to small flames after the first, then go out altogether after the second. However, if the sorcerer is fighting near (or in!) a burning building, she has a nearly endless source of sorcerous motes to draw on. She may draw from fire elementals or other spirits of flame as well, draining (Essence) motes from their pools, but only if her shape sorcery roll exceeds their Resolve, and no more than once per scene against any one spirit. When the sorcerer draws Essence to fuel her control spell, flames are not diminished, and spirits do not lose the motes drawn from them.
The sorcerer’s patron offers her power in exchange for burnt offerings, breathing in the smoke of her tribute and rewarding her with glory. The sorcerer may make a prayer roll (Charisma + Performance, difficulty 5 minus the Resources value of any sacrifices offered along with the prayer) seeking power from her patron. Success grants her sorcerous motes equal to (her Essence + extra successes on the roll). These motes last for the duration of the story, and can be spent towards any spell she casts. She cannot pray for power more than once a day, and receiving new motes replaces any granted by past prayers.
The sorcerer has learned to cultivate the flames of passion in her own heart, using them to stoke the power of her spells. Whenever she would gain a point of Willpower from upholding an Intimacy that represents a passionate emotion or fervent belief, she may instead claim 5 sorcerous motes. These motes last until the next sunrise, and can be spent towards any spell she casts. Additionally, she may shed a level of intensity from such an Intimacy to channel its fire towards a spell she is shaping, adding sorcerous motes equal to the (original) intensity of the Intimacy. She cannot tap an Intimacy more than once per day this way.

Other Benefits
Suzerain of Endless Flame (Merit ••): Fire answers readily to the sorcerer’s will. Whenever the sorcerer casts a spell that creates or manipulates fire as its primary effect, or summons a fire elemental, its cost is lowered by three sorcerous motes. If it’s her control spell, she may also waive a single point of Willpower from its cost once per day.

As the sorcerer recites ancient prayers to deities long forgotten beneath the open sky, huge chitinous limbs emerge from above, weaving the wind and clouds to her will. Shaping the weather is an (Intelligence + Occult) roll that takes a few minutes to complete, with a difficulty based both on how drastic the change the sorcerer wishes to make is and how typical the desired weather is for her current climate and season. Creating a light rain in a temperate climate might only be difficulty 1, while strengthening a heavy rain to a thunderstorm or halting it completely might be difficulty 2-3. Summoning a thunderstorm from blue skies or diminishing a hurricane to a severe storm would be difficulty 5+. Likewise, any attempt to create rain might incur increased difficulty if attempted in a desert, as would calling a blizzard outside of the winter season. This spell can never create extreme natural disasters such as hurricanes, though it can diminish them to lesser weather.
If the sorcerer succeeds, That Which Stirs the Sky weaves the desired weather in an area out to (Essence + threshold successes) miles from the point cast the spell. It lasts for (1 + threshold successes) hours before reverting to normal. Subsequent castings by any sorcerer cannot alter the weather within the spell’s range until its duration elapses. Characters within the weather can identify its unnatural origin with a (Perception + [Occult or Survival]) roll of difficulty 1-5, with subtler alterations being more difficult to detect.
A sorcerer with this as her control spell may create sorcerous weather that follows her as she moves; this costs half her threshold successes, rounded up.
Distortion (Goal Number: 10): Distorting this spell reverses the alteration to the weather. It doesn’t merely revert back to its previous conditions, but is changed in the other direction — if the original sorcerer had calmed a thunderstorm, distortion would result in an even greater storm; if she’d summoned rain, distortion could result in intensely arid heat.

Sculpting Essence into volant black glass, the sorcerer unleashes a cascade of obsidian butterflies. She rolls (Perception + Occult) as an undodgeable decisive attack applied in a line against enemies out to medium range. This line is wide enough to strike all opponents within the width of a single range band and reaches high enough to strike aerial enemies who are at short range to the ground (medium range enemies in the air can still be targeted by directing the butterflies to fly along an upward path, rather than a horizontal one). Battle groups are especially vulnerable to being cut down by this spell, taking a -2 penalty to Defense against it.
The attack deals raw damage equal to the sorcerer’s (Essence + extra successes), or (Essence + Occult + extra successes) against a battle group. It does not reset the sorcerer to base Initiative. Scenery made of wood, glass, or other fragile materials is generally destroyed. After this spell has been cast, the obsidian butterflies fall to the ground and shatter, creating terrain that may be hazardous for barefooted characters to traverse—treat as an environmental hazard inflicting two dice of lethal damage, difficulty 2 to resist with a (Dexterity + Athletics) roll, and if the character is barefoot, difficult terrain as well. Any character wearing armored boots can generally ignore the debris.
A sorcerer who knows Death of Obsidian Butterflies as her control spell gains (Essence) bonus dice to the spell’s attack roll. When her emotions run hot, butterfly silhouettes rise from her shadow. When she is angry, her fingernails turn to sharp volcanic glass, making it possible to cut cloth or paper, rend wood or flesh and other similar stunts.

The sorcerer conjures one of the least monsters of the Demon Realm into Creation, breaking and binding it to her will. This spell requires a ritual that begins at sundown, and ends at the stroke of midnight. A faint green glow traces out a rift between Creation and Hell, and a First Circle Demon of the sorcerer’s choice is drawn forth, howling with rage, fear, or sorrow.
Demons summoned by this spell must be bound with an (Intelligence + Occult) roll against their Resolve. The sorcerer may choose to make the demon her personal slave for a year and a day, giving it a Defining Tie of loyalty to her that cannot be weakened or altered by any means and setting its Resolve to 0 against any influence rolls she makes. Alternatively, she may assign it to complete a specific task—“Construct a tower using these plans,” “Murder Magistrate Yang,” “Dig a tunnel through this wall”—for as long as it takes to complete. Task-bound demons form a Defining Principle of “I must complete my task,” which is similarly impervious to tampering.
On a failed binding roll, the sorcerer is unable to bind the demon, and must make a (Wits + Occult) roll against a difficulty of the demon’s Willpower to banish it back to Hell. If she fails, then the demon is unleashed, unbound, into Creation—and is most likely very angry at her.

Reciting a short paean in praise of things both small and many, the sorcerer disintegrates into a flock of dozens of diminutive birds. Her consciousness diffuses across many bodies, becoming the flock’s guiding intelligence. She designates a location within 10 miles, and begins flying toward it. The flock uses her traits, but the only physical actions she can take are movement actions and dodging. She gains +2 Evasion, although not against area-of-effect attacks, and adds (higher of Essence or 3) dice on disengage and withdraw rolls. Outside combat, she flies at ([Dexterity + Athletics] x 2) miles per hour. She can end this spell reflexively at any time. It also ends upon reaching her destination or being incapacitated.
Sorcerers with this as their control spell can speak to and understand birds, though some may not make for the best conversation. Treat birds and bird-like spirits as having a Minor Tie of fondness for her.
Special activation rules: After collecting the sorcerous motes to cast this spell, the sorcerer may “hold” it rather than casting it. She suffers a −1 penalty to all actions and static values while doing so, as she must will her body not to burst into birds. She can cast it reflexively at any time, although if any enemies are at close range, she must reflexively disengage against them. On failure, the spell is lost.
Distortion (Goal Number 10): Distorting this spell undermines the flock’s unity, sending it darting in different directions. In combat, the sorcerer must make a difficulty 2 (Wits + Integrity) roll each turn, suffering one die of Hardness-ignoring bashing damage on failure as parts of herself fly away. Outside of combat, she must make this roll each mile, and failure halves her speed, rounded down, for that mile.

The sorcerer shapes flames of diamond and ruby into the form of a majestic bird of prey, evoking the elemental majesty of the garda birds. The player rolls (Perception + Occult) as a decisive attack against an enemy at up to long range, then sends the raptor streaking forth to consume her foe in deadly flames. The brilliant raptor embodies the sorcerer’s will, with a base lethal damage equal to (her Initiative + current temporary Willpower), and resets her to base Initiative on a successful attack. As long as the raptor deals 3+ levels of damage to its target, it ignites a bonfire (p. 230) that engulfs him and all terrain within short range of him, and burns until the end of the scene.
A sorcerer who knows Flight of the Brilliant Raptor as her control spell may use it to attack a target one range band beyond long range by paying an extra 5sm when casting the spell.

The sorcerer shapes a small, six-winged messenger spirit to convey her words to another character. The spirit flies with immense speed, capable of crossing hundreds of miles in an hour or all Creation in less than a day—only the boundaries between realms of existence will stop it from delivering its missive. Upon arrival, the cherub is visible only to its intended target, to whom it can deliver a message of up to five minutes in length before dissipating.
Sorcerers can convey social influence through the Infallible Messenger, but cannot normally use their Charms to enhance the roll.

The flesh of one of the sorcerer’s hands splits to reveal a monstrous gaping mouth with fangs of tourmaline and a squirming viridian tongue. The maw leeches away at water, condensing vapor from thin air and desiccating plants or living flesh. She rolls (Intelligence + Occult) as an unblockable decisive attack against all characters, including allies, in a ninety-degree arc out to medium range. Against battle groups, it’s unblockable and undodgeable. Each character hit suffers ([sorcerer’s Intelligence + extra successes] − [lower of target’s Stamina or Resistance])A dice of decisive damage, minimum one die. This doesn’t include the sorcerer’s Initiative or reset her to base Initiative. Enemies with no body moisture whatsoever, such as fire elementals or bonesiders, are immune. Conversely, enemies primarily made of liquid, such as water elementals, don’t subtract anything from the damage. Trivial plant life within range is completely desiccated, dying instantly.
Moisture siphoned by this spell is gathered into a sphere of solid water that floats above the sorcerer’s hand for up to a few minutes after casting this spell. The sorcerer may direct it into a container for storage, or it can be drawn on with Charms such as Elemental Sheath (p. 225). Even if there are no victims of her spell, she may gather water with it in all but the most arid environments.
A sorcerer with this as her control spell has a devil-maw permanently opened on one of her palms. Unarmed attacks with that hand deal aggravated damage and gain the Piercing tag (Exalted, p. 586) against enemies that have any body moisture, draining it through their armor. Against water elementals and similar enemies, her unarmed attacks deal an additional die of withering or decisive damage.

The sorcerer draws a flaming sword from her own heart, shaping a fiery sentinel to keep vigil over her. As she completes the spell, the burning blade collapses into a will-o’-the-wisp no larger than a torchlight — the sorcerer may conceal the Virtuous Guardian of Flame by commanding it to rest within an existing lit lantern or torch she carries. Should she be attacked, the wisp flares back into sword shape to fend off her enemy, protecting her as per the defend other action (Exalted, p. 196) with a Parry of ([higher of Essence or Intelligence] + 1). The virtuous guardian can even notice threats of which the sorcerer is unaware, rolling (Essence + Perception + Occult) to detect hidden enemies. Wooden projectiles or weapons successfully blocked by the guardian are burnt to ashes. If it parries an unarmed attack or other natural attack, the attacker suffers one die of lethal damage, ignoring Hardness. Even when its parries fail, its flames blunt the force of attacks against the sorcerer, adding (Essence) natural soak against all but unblockable attacks.
The guardian has soak (Essence + 5), Hardness (Essence), and (Essence + Intelligence) −0 health levels. When the sorcerer Joins Battle, it gains Initiative equal to hers. It cannot take any actions of its own; instead, this Initiative is used solely as a buffer against withering attacks. If the guardian is crashed, it dissipates for a scene, unable to protect the sorcerer, but reforms after that. If its health track is filled with damage, it’s utterly destroyed, and the sorcerer cannot resummon it until its full duration has elapsed.
A sorcerer with this as her control spell may awaken Evocations from it, enhancing the guardian’s defensive power or wielding it offensively.
Distortion (Goal Number: 15): Distorting the virtuous guardian lets the distorting sorcerer temporarily usurp it from its caster, stealing its protection away from her for one scene.

This black octagonal stone blazes with orange-gold light along each of its perfect edges. The Hierophant’s Eye grants one automatic non-Charm success to every shape sorcery action while socketed into an attuned artifact.

Consisting of aspect-dedicated magical material lattices embedded in synthetic adamant matrices, these thumbnail sized baubles are the most ubiquitous artifact garments currently in fashion among the Chosen. Some elder Exalted object to them on principle, especially the “wear nothing you didn’t make” purists and the “mansions of closets” hedonists, though the latter sometimes collect hundreds of amulets to display their collection of brand glyphs from highly regarded Exalted and Jadeborn artisans.
Although the devices vary by model, each costs five motes to attune. The devices have the following common features:
Modular Attire: The amulet can generate any form of outfit the wearer can imagine, however grand or humble. Changing the setting requires contact and a diceless miscellaneous action. Repairing or cleaning a worn outfit takes the same action as creating a new one. Created clothes have no reality beyond being an extension of the amulet, so they dissolve or flow back into the artifact if they are removed for any reason. Most wearers integrate the amulet itself as an accessory of each outfit, especially to show off impressive brand glyphs.
Protection: Regardless of configuration, enchantments in the amulet provide +1L/+1B soak (which does not count as armor for Charm purposes), plus an extra success to all Resistance or Survival rolls to reduce or avoid the effects of deleterious environmental conditions, toxins or disease.

Moonsilver: Extruding outfits as a diaphanous second skin grown from liquid metal tendrils, these amulets provide superior protection and camouflage on demand. The wearer gets two bonus dice to Stealth rolls and two bonus dice to assume a disguise with Larceny, as well as replacing the usual soak bonus with +5 soak (that stacks with and is still not considered armor for Charms).
Starmetal: Weaving clothes from strands of the wearer’s own fate, these amulets provide extremely subtle and understated elegance. Such garments conceal numerous pockets folded into Elsewhere, providing sufficient storage space to carry up to a ton of assorted items safely out of reach of the world, provided the objects could actually fit through a pocket opening no larger than a foot across. Only the attuned wearer can reach into Elsewhere via these pockets; to others, they are merely stitched folds. In the event of the wearer’s death, his corpse fades into Elsewhere with his possessions for burial among the interstices of fate, leaving only his enchanted clothes to mark his passage.

These slender, yard-long ropes are threaded with orichalcum and moonsilver, giving them wondrous strength and resilience. A sorcerer standing in a non-ritual sorcery spell’s path may bind the spell’s Essence in a knot, trapping it until the knot is released. The bearer must be initiated into the circle of the spell to be captured, and must succeed on a reflexive (Dexterity + Occult) roll against the enemy sorcerer’s spellcasting roll. If successful, the spell is swallowed by the knot like water down a drain. Untying a knot unleashes the stored spell as though shaping it normally, using ([the lower of Dexterity or Intelligence] + Occult). If she attempts to a shape a spell of a circle she isn’t initiated into, it is distorted or botches — Storyteller’s choice.
A sorcery-capturing cord can hold a single spell. Looking at a pre-existing knot, one can determine the captured spell’s circle with a difficulty 3 (Intelligence + Occult) roll, and the specific spell with (Circle x 2) threshold successes. All-Encompassing Sorcerer’s Sight and similar Charms reveal this information automatically. Destroying the cord releases a distorted or botched version of the stored spell in a random direction.

Moretta was born and doted on by her mother, V'neef. With her status as one of the Empress' grandchildren, she was given access to the very best in tutors. Moretta soaked up the education she was getting, and once she went on to school with her peers, the young girl quickly shone as one of the best and brightest students in a generation.

Once she reached the age of ten, Moretta was taken out of school and was taught exclusively by the tutors, and every teacher she had would rave at the brilliance of the young girl. The next big milestone was when she Exalted as a Child of Mela at the age of fourteen, and once that happened, the precocious young lady was actively courted by the Heptagram to come to the college and learn with the very best educators and students of the Realm. Moretta leapt at the chance to go, and while under the watchful eyes of the teachers, she once again proved that she was one of the smartest and most capable students that the instructors had seen in years.

Now out of her formal training, Moretta is now being thought of as a very good catch for some man lucky enough to catch her eye. Knowing that she is being considered for an arranged marriage of her own, she quickly went to V'neef herself, and asked as her 'favorite' daughter to be sent along to help chaperone the wedding party. The request was granted, putting off the whispers of marriage for Moretta - for now.

The martial artist rears up into a grim and terrifying battle posture, regarding her opponents as little more than grass to be scythed down before her. She receives double 10s on all decisive damage rolls and can easily fight large groups single-handedly, treating the Drill of any battle group she attacks as one step lower for calculating their Defense bonus. Groups that already have poor Drill instead take an additional -1 Defense against her attacks. She may also move through the space filled by a battle group without needing to spend Initiative.

More spectacularly, whenever the White Reaper incapacitates or crashes a non-trivial enemy, a halo of sizzling, silver-white Essence surges around her like a second skin. Damaging a battle group also grants her a halo. The martial artist may have up to (higher of 2 or her Essence rating) in halos, up to a maximum of five, with each one adding +1 to her Resolve.

Special activation rules: Whenever the martial artist begins her turn in close range of three or more non-trivial opponents, or in the space filled by a battle group, she may reflexively activate White Reaper Form.

• She may perform minor manipulations of her Aspect’s element: cooling herself with a light breeze, igniting a fire without flint or tinder, causing a flower to blossom early at her touch. These never carry mechanical effects, but provide minor utility and can be incorporated into stunts.

Wood Anima Effects
• For five motes, the Wood Aspect becomes immune to mundane plant-based poisons, and doubles 9s on rolls to resist other poisons and diseases for the scene. She gains these benefits for free while at bonfire.
• For three motes, the Wood Aspect becomes flexible as a sapling in the wind, ignoring one point of penalty to Evasion or (Essence) points of penalty on a movement action for an instant.

Submersing herself in cleansing waters, the Dragon-Blood washes away all imperfections. After spending at least an hour bathing, she emerges resplendent and pure. Her cleanliness transcends the world; she cannot be stained or dirtied by any mundane material. Any character that interacts with her is treated as having a positive Minor Tie toward her, with an emotional context chosen by that character’s player. A fellow Dynast might respect her faultless grooming and manners; a peasant might be awestruck by her impossible purity; an assassin sent to kill her might fall in love as he smells the perfume she bathed in. Each character who partakes is treated as having a positive Minor Tie for his fellow party-goers — whose context, such as affection or camaraderie, is chosen by his player — and suffers −1 Guile.
However, sweetening the tap also increases the risk of fraying tempers or violent overreactions. If a character botches a social action, the positive Tie towards him created by this Charm inverts into a negative Tie for all inebriated partygoers who witnessed the offense.

When unattuned the Lotus is a bulb of green jade decorated with a fine tracery of orichalcum, but if sung hymns praising a community or organization while floating on the surface of a pond in a garden, it will unfurl to reveal a beautiful orichalcum flower. As its owner attunes to it, so too does it attune to the organization, twining roots of essence through the organization's meridians.

Meditating on the fundamental unity of all living things, the master of Gilded Lotus comes to realizes that she, her garden, and her organization are one. What afflicts her afflicts her organization afflicts her, and vice versa. When something threatens the healthy flow of essence through the meridians of her organization, she may take that malady upon herself, distilling corruption, crime, and dysfunction into poison or disease of a toxicity or morbidity of the Storyteller's choosing. Likewise, if she, a member of her community, or one of her Sworn Kin is afflicted by disease, poison, or injury she may lean on the support of her community to bear the burden, transforming it into organizational dysfunction, corruption, or outside threats to the health and good order of the organization that manifest visibly in the health of her garden. She may transfer up to Essence health levels of damage in this way, and can treat injury, poison, or disease afflicting her community with a Project using Charisma+Bureaucracy. Should the disease, injury, or poison reach its terminal stage or go untreated in her organization for too long, the organization will die, drifting apart or becoming completely dysfunctional. SPECIAL ABILITIES
Clamp Down: Once per scene, a sky titan that deals 3+ levels of damage with a decisive talon attack may pay one Willpower to immediately begin grap- pling its victim without a gambit, reflexively making the opposed control roll. Add +1 to the base Initiative the creature resets to for every round of control it gains.
Dominating Battlecry: The sky titan surveys the bat- tlefield and trumpets its supremacy. When its Initiative is the highest among battle participants by 15 or more, it may spend 10 Initiative to regain one Willpower.
Fearsome Display: Spreading its wings, the sky titan terrifies all who behold it. Once per scene, roll Intimidate once and apply it against the Resolve of each character who can see it. Those whose Resolve it overcomes must flee in terror until they reach extreme range from the titan, or pay one Willpower to resist. Mundane animals and mortals automatically flee without magical intervention, and can’t resist with Willpower. If the sky titan Incapacitates or kills a non-trivial opponent, this ability resets.
Ground-Churning Strafe Attack: The sky titan drags its massive talons across the battlefield as a combat action, clawing at the turf as it charges. The upturned earth and deep gouges it leaves create a swath of difficult terrain.
Horizon-Sweeping Wingspan: Spend one Willpower. With a mighty downbeat of its wings, the sky titan makes a single withering wing attack applied against all enemies within close range. This attack knocks any enemies who take damage from it back one range band, and the titan may take a reflexive move action in any direction, which doesn’t count as its move action for the turn. It gains full Ini- tiative from the target who took the most damage, +1 for each other target who took any damage. For a second Willpower point, it may flurry the initial wing attack with a withering or decisive beak attack. This ability may be used once per scene, but resets whenever the sky titan’s wound penalty increases.
Spine-Shattering Emperor’s Beak: Striking with an apex predator’s skill and all the force its impressively elongated neck can provide, the sky titan may make beak attacks at short range. If the target hasn’t acted yet this turn or is in Initiative Crash, successful decisive beak attacks made at short range reset the titan to 6 Initiative instead of 3, and successful withering piercing beak attacks made at short range ignore up to 7 armor soak instead of 4.
MERITS
Keen Nose: Double 9s on scent-based Senses rolls. Sky titans use their tongues to aid in smelling.
Legendary Size: The sky titan suffers no onslaught penalties from attacks from smaller opponents, unless
they’re magically inflicted. Withering attacks from smaller enemies cannot Crash it unless they have at least 10 post-soak damage dice, although attackers still gain the full amount of Initiative damage dealt. Decisive attacks from smaller enemies cannot deal more than (3 + attacker’s Strength) levels of damage, not counting levels added by Charms or other magic.
Master of the Sky: The sky titan suffers no penalties for moving over difficult terrain while on the ground, but takes a −3 penalty to combat movement actions while flying at low altitudes (vertical medium range from the ground or lower). It gains +3 Evasion while soaring at vertical long range or higher, as long as it hasn’t taken any combat actions within the scene. It can fly continuously at 80 miles an hour for up to 10 days without rest at high altitudes.
Overwhelming Might: Sky titans make unopposed grapple control rolls against enemies of smaller size, unless the victims use magic allowing them to grapple larger foes, such as Dragon Coil Technique (Exalted, p. 280).
Thick Scales: The sky titan does not subtract wound penalties from its Defense. In addition, attacks made from short range or further reduce their minimum damage against the sky titan by one unless they benefit from an Aim action.
The priceless treasures of the threshold are the jewels in the crown of V'Neef, and heavy is the head that wears it. Growing up surrounded by unimaginable splendour, grandmother V'Neef made it quite clear to Melati's tutors that she was to be inculcated with the ethos of the house. The seedling must grow to survive, and quickly. The gardener had placed them in fertile soil and cleared a space for the sun to reach them, but resilience would not be enough to survive against the old growth when it came for them. They must spread their roots deep, spread their seeds wide and far, and with their branches everywhere reach for the sky. Everything she touched must be made better for it in ways that would persist long after she had departed, everywhere new opportunities grown even from soil the other Houses had deemed lifeless and barren. Especially from there, for often they would find this all that was not already grasped tightly by siblings. Tend every holding like the garden and the field, and the House would be rewarded with a harvest bountiful enough to see them through the winter to come.

Melati took these lessons to heart, drawing her Second Breath by the grace of Sextes Jylis while playing music for the infirm at a hospital run by the Immaculate Order during her first year at the Spiral Academy, one of the last of her class. The miraculous recovery of the patients as flowers bloomed in the field and her hair alike, petals swirling in the air, moved her and much of her audience to tears of joy and relief at finally having been chosen by the Dragons. She has made a point of playing at hospitals and sick houses wherever she goes, and has cultivated strong ties with the Order as a result.

She bloomed with her exaltation, going from a shy and reserved girl who spent her days reading and practicing music to an arresting social butterfly over the course of her second year at the Spiral Academy, through the miraculous powers bestowed upon her and the support of her newly adopted cousin Kasumi. She relished casting those who she believed had wronged or excluded her from her carefully tended social garden, especially hated rivals in House Peleps. Her salons soon became some of the most sought after and exclusive events during her tenure. Hundreds of attempts were made to steal or bribe the secret of her skincare routine from her servants, such was the legendarily radiant complexion of her skin, but her garden proved impenetrable, spreading its roots and branches in a dense tangled web through the staff of the school from the lowliest scullery maids to the Domina herself, healing sick family members, offering kind words, and offering the most talented positions in her household. She left a sizable network of favours and informants to her younger relatives when she graduated with high honours and a position in the diplomatic corps in the coveted and competitive West.

Her mother's gift to her for graduating with honours was the oaths that bind her to Kemuning, the powerful wood spirit with brilliant varicoloured flower-petal wings set the task of protecting her during her travels. Grandmother V'Neef gifted her the Gilded Lotus and made a personal request that she leave a garden in the West more beautiful than she found it, and strengthen the House in the process.

Caste Effects:
- For five motes, the Water Aspect may use her move action to cross the surface of water as though it were solid land, and ignores the −3 penalty for rushing or disengaging across difficult terrain. She gains these benefits for free while at bonfire.
- For three motes, the Water Aspect adds a non-Charm success on a roll to disengage, withdraw, or resist being grappled.
- Water Aspects may breathe water as though it were air, and suffer no penalties for being submerged in water.
Backstory:
Kasumi was born to two of Eagle Prefecture's less well-off patricians. Her life would have been as unremarkable as those of many Blessed Isle mortals were it not for an incident that took place when she was twelve, during which she summoned a giant wave of water from out of nowhere while defending a younger child from two bullies. Giddy at the prospect of restoring their old fortunes and statuses, Kasumi's parents happily gave their newly-Exalted daughter away to House V'neef. If the girl felt any resentment towards her parents for this, it soon disappeared as she embraced the life of comparative luxury she'd been gifted.

Two years after her adoption, Kasumi was sent to the Imperial City to began her studies at the Spiral Academy, with the expectation that she'd get a job in either Eagle Prefecture or the Merchant Fleet after graduating. She became friends with a fellow V'neef, Melati, during her time in secondary school, with the two young women being seen in each other's company often during galas and salons, and frequently studying together. But while Melati proved to be one of the Spiral Academy's top students, Kasumi's grades, while above average, were largely unremarkable, any talent she had for bureaucracy coming only from her Water Aspect nature. She did however shine considerably in the field of swordsmanship; her matriarch, deciding to nurture the young woman's greatest talent, hired a Tepet swordswoman and master of Even Blade Style as a private tutor for her. Kasumi soon bonded with her teacher - even beginning an affair with her when she turned seventeen - and learned a lot from her, quickly becoming one of the greatest swordswomen in the Realm.

Upon completing her studies, the danger House V'neef had been put in thanks to the disappearance of the Scarlet Empress meant that Kasumi had no time to take a sabbatical, not that her sense of duty to her house would allow her to do so. She took up a position within the Merchant Fleet, captaining various tribute ships, and fending off the attempts of pirates to steal their cargo before it could reach the Blessed Isle. It was after one such battle that she obtained the daiklave Kirameku Namida, discovering it in the hold of the freshly captured pirate vessel. With her being one of their greatest swordswomen, no-one in House V'neef objected when Kasumi claimed the blade for herself.

Very recently, Kasumi was withdrawn from the Merchant Fleet, V'neef choosing her as one of the bride's chaperones for the wedding between her daughter and the crown prince of Wavecrest.

Trivia:
- Kasumi is married to V'neef Laoming, another Water Aspect found egg from the Blessed Isle, who is currently helping to manage the house's affairs back in Eagle Prefecture. She gave birth to the couple's first child roughly a year before the events of the story.
- Kasumi once took part in a skirmish with a dragon's worth of jellyfish beastfolk, getting lashed by their tentacles multiple times. She considers the pain of childbirth to be a dull ache in comparison.
- Tepet Motari, Kasumi's swordsmanship teacher and lover, is currently serving in the Red Piss Legion following the destruction of the Tepet Legions. The two of them would have little issue with resuming their affair, but they are unlikely to see each other for a while.

Like all Hoshidoan daiklaves, Kirameku Namida is, in form, an enlarged version of the classical katana design so beloved of the archipelago's gods and nobility - a smoothly curved, single edged, chiseltipped blade forty-six inches in length, fitted to a fifteen-inch hilt. The jadesteel that makes up it up is layered from billets of dissimilar appearance, one all but pure steel in appearance and the other as dark as the deepest depths, folded until the mirrored metal seems to wash like foam-crested waves across the dark surface of the sword, while the hilt-wrappings are in the more mundane, though still fine, black and scarlet of the clan for which the blade was first forged. When drawn, the blade is constantly covered by the fine film of salt-water it generates - but does not suspend or control, meaning that it leaves a steady trickle of water for as long as it is bared. From this weeping does it draw its name, 'Glittering Tears'.

Kirameku Namida has two hearthstone sockets set into its guard, one on either side of the blade.

She retains the specialty indefinitely, but may only have one specialty granted by this Charm at a time.

To use this Charm, the Dragon-Blood must spend a few minutes contemplating an expression of an elements: observing the movement of clouds, meditating beneath a waterfall, staring unblinking into a flame, or so on; this determines the Charm’s elemental aspect. At the end, she makes a ([Mental Attribute] + [Bureaucracy, Investigation, Lore, Medicine, Survival, or War]) roll with a single bonus success. She may roll to introduce a fact as though she has a Lore background in facts that relate to the Charm’s elemental aspect. An Air-aspected use could introduce facts about weather or music theory; an Earth-aspected use could relate to geology, masonry, or architecture; and so on. If the Dragon-Blood knows Dragon-Kin Empowerment, she may provide the benefits of this Charm to one of her Sworn Kin, guiding him through meditation.

The Dragon-Blood channels elemental Essence into a deadly blast. Air manifests as crackling lightning; Earth as flying stones; Wood as poisoned thorns; and so on. This is a withering or decisive attack with (Dexterity + [Archery or Thrown]) against an enemy within short range, which can be enhanced with Charms of the appropriate combat Ability. The Exalt may spend a level of anima to extend this to medium range. This Charm’s elemental aspect is the same as the Exalt’s, and it gains additional benefits based on its element.

Water: The elemental bolt deals bashing damage and has the Flexible and Disarming tags (Exalted, p. 586).

The Dragon-Blood may purchase additional elemental variants of this Charm for three experience points each.

The Dragon-Blood consigns an artifact Melee weapon to the elements, banishing it Elsewhere through a dramatic and significant manifestation of an element that is at least as large as her weapon. Her daiklave might become translucent and fluid as she touches it to the surface of a lake, dissolving into the body of water; a direlance plunged into a boulder or stone wall might vanish into it; a goremaul fades away as a strong gust of wind carries it away. She may alternatively recall it from a similar manifestation of the same element. If the Exalt doesn’t have access to an appropriate elemental manifestation, she may expend a level of anima to banish or recall her weapon. Once banished this way, it may be recalled through a manifestation of her Aspect element.

The stylist stands deathly still, taking a very deliberate breath, before shouting furiously. They strike so suddenly and so surprisingly that it sets their opponent off balance. This charm can allow the user to refuse a clash attack from an opponent attacking on the same tick, they stylist simply moves too quickly to stop and thus attack normally. This charm has a secondary use which allows it to clash with charms such as Thunderclap Rush attack as if it had the clash keyword, if used in this way it must be spent with a point of willpower. When used against clash charms, this grants the user 2 non-charm dice to their attack roll.

The stylist's focus becomes crystal clear and utterly focused on the battle at hand. They cannot be distracted by any means, even magical ones. All distract gambits automatically fail on the stylist. Due to the stylists supernatural speed and reflexes, as long as a character is going to act less than 3 ticks before them, the stylist may move first. If they are moving 3 ticks before them, the stylist may spend 3 motes to activate Death Between Heartbeats to move on the same tick. Finally, the stylist may ignore up to their Essence in DV penalties.

Special Activation: Upon using Death Between Heartbeats to reject a clash, and successfully striking the enemy and dealing more damage than them, the Even Blade Form may be activated reflexively.
