Stardust Galaxy Stardust Galaxy [/div][/div] [div class=post][div class=scroll] Woo-jin hated social gatherings, hated it like it was the bane of his very existence. Social gatherings meant presenting a version of yourself that others found enjoyable enough to endure for multiple hours and such an expression was, and had never been, his domain. Words often reigned these occasions, but words were deceiving and too easily twisted. One could hold the most entrancing speech all whilst planning the most wicked things in their heads. People could put on a smile and tell them they are fine while drowning from the inside. No, words were too easily manipulated to cover a truth somehow too horrid to say, and it confused him. Honesty was the best kind of language there was. They would say: honesty sets you free, and Woo-jin would be inclined to agree. Honesty gets you places, just asking whatever you think instead of holding your tongue or fabricating your way around it. The practice of honesty was a principle that formed the foundation of his being and he could not, would not, bend himself sideways for the appeasement of others. So if it meant avoiding these occasions where faking truth to keep the mood alive was the norm, he would do it. Besides, a life of solitude was not as bad as society portrayed it to be. To him, it was a calming sea that he could spend forever in, a peaceful realm with no drama and no social complications. It gave him a freedom to do what he wanted to do in his free time (which should be used efficiently in the first place considering its rarity) and that was priceless to him. Of course, a man of his stature could not evade the obligatory social events, not if he wanted to continue his succession, but besides that? Home was best. No, Woo-jin could not be bothered to attend any events that he knew his close friends were not present at, let alone spend more than three days with people of lower amiability, like his colleagues. This, however, made the bet all the worse, along with the fact that he actually lost it. He liked to think that an inebriated state was involved in getting him in on the bet at the first place, because sober Woo-jin would have never entertained such a tacky game, but unfortunately, the memories were too clear to lend credence to that thought. It was truly a defeat he’d rather forget, however, that was easier said than done when the consequences of his loss were breathed into very existence today. Woo-jin stared at his reflection in the mirror, hands fumbling with the red tie, before letting out a sigh and tossing the red fabric aside. It had already been thirty minutes and the perfect outfit was yet to be achieved. Perhaps he should have gone with the dark brown suit instead but…. this tailored one offered more style, and style was, as one would think, critical in leaving a good impression – which, Woo-jin could admit, something he struggled in. Mr Robot… that’s the nickname that had been circulating throughout the company. It was one he hadn't bothered addressing before, simply because it was not worth his time nor his attention. People would think of him what they wanted to think and as long as it didn’t harm the business, they could do so freely. However, he could not help but grow self-conscious of that nickname the morning of the field trip. If he really was to spend more than three days with the colleagues who considered him more alike to a machine than a human, he figured it would be best to try and change their perspective even just a little. He wanted this field trip to be a success after all. Woo-jin grabbed another tie that was lying neatly in an open class case and put it on. Eyeing his reflection for the 20th time, the CEO assessed the compatibility with his suit, before nodding in satisfaction. This was the outfit.

Within three hours, Woo-jin had travelled from his apartment in Seoul to Jeju island and was now sitting in the seat of the car while his private driver was driving to the destination. A renovated guesthouse close to the beach. Woo-jin was more than aware he was running quite late and to make up for it, he was bringing some of the finest steaks with him. People liked steak, right? Or had it been better to bring multiple options..? Consciously, his eyes narrowed to the back, where the box with the steak was. “Han woo-jin-ssi, we have arrived.” A voice spoke up, snatching his attention. It was at that moment when he realized that the car had indeed stopped and that the scenery had changed. He nodded in acknowledgment, before clearing his throat. “Thank you.” Woo-jin let his gaze wander over to the window, catching the sight of the guesthouse, and allowed himself a brief moment of mental preparation. It was the first time that he even went on a work-organized fieldtrip, so there was not a frame of reference he could consult. His knowledge was close to zero and the unknowingness of what to expect was what made him uneasy. Nevertheless, he just had to bear this alien experience and hope it would go against his negative anticipations. Woo-jin attempted to assemble a confidence unwavering enough to get him through this all, before opening the door and stepping outside the car. Here goes nothing.. LOCATION. Seoul ATTIRE. here INTERACTIONS. secretrary, ji-hoon, Eunseo TAGS. Stardust Galaxy Stardust Galaxy [/div][/div] [div class=post][div class=scroll] Sometimes, Soyeon wished there were more moments where her own selfishness would prevail. That she could listen to her own feelings, decide that whatever situation she’d pull herself in would not be worth gaining favours or esteem over, and decline the options given to her. Soyeon would like to set the record straight that, even though her choices might reflect something else, she was absolutely not a people-pleaser. In fact, there was a defiance within her that rarely could be quelled, a quiet flame that if fuelled, could burn everything within its vicinity. However, life was also too nuanced to base the definition of your identity on one thing, and Soyeon was not one so stuck in her ways that she’d follow her clichés to her end. Sometimes, choices needed to be made and battles had to be picked. Sometimes, the broader picture was what had to guide you, even though your own feelings had to be sacrificed in the moment. It was a continual conflict: the battle between heart and head, between rationalism and throwing down your emotions because you want to. However, society did not favour the turbulent ones, and Soyeon has lived in this world long enough, has gathered enough experience, to know that the illusion of a choice is the most deceptive tool out of them all. That doesn’t stop it from being the most used as well, though. People pretend to grant you the freedom to choose whatever you desire, but little do you know that only one of those choices is right, and if picked otherwise, severe consequences would follow suit. So even though the wedding planner would’ve rather done nothing more than turn down the couple referred to her, she couldn’t. Which, unfortunately, brought her to this day. Seated in her assigned office, Soyeon was all too occupied with convincing herself that all she had to feign ignorance to the bride’s identity and everything would go smoothly as usual. Yes, that was all she had to do… Besides, it must be equally displeasing for Eunseo as it was for her. That was, under the presumption at least, that the groom had no knowledge about the past between the two. If he did and actually still decided to marry the prima ballerina then… god help her. Letting out a sigh, Soyeon leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes, concentrating on dispelling the worst-case scenario from her mind. It was futile to dwell on the past, wasn’t it? As horrible as it was, it made her all the stronger. It taught her a lesson that trust was far too easily broken to be given away so freely, granted her a new vision on those around her and herself. She grew from it, earning a realization that some people were not worth fighting against. It matured her in ways and perhaps, time matured Eunseo too. Made her a person better than she was before, a person regretful of betrayal. The chances were close to nihil, given how those of high society rarely were willing to admit their wrong-doings, but a woman could hope once in a while. If anything, the anticipated secrecy about what transpired all those years ago might be enough to keep the ghost of the past tranquil. A knock on the door jolted Soyeon from her inner mind palace, dazed eyes turning back to focus, before narrowing to the door. She instantly adjusted her posture to one more professionally aligned, smoothed down the fabric of her skirt, before clearing her throat. “Yes?” Seconds later, the door opened and the head of one of the secretaries peeked through the opening. “ I have come to notify you that your clients have arrived Soyeon ssi” Soyeon nodded in acknowledgement and rose from her seat, all whilst pretending that the tempo of her heartbeat hadn’t reached a new speed when those words were uttered. “Very well, thank you. I shall go greet them,” she responded, more as a command to herself than as a response. The secretary nodded, before disappearing again, most likely returning back to the couple to inform them that their wedding planner would be arriving in just a moment. Soyeon took a deep breathe, before slowly grabbing the tablet from the desk and issuing her body to actually move out of the office. Just smile and pretend that they are just like every other couple you’ve had before. She silently told herself while walking from her office to the reception. Just smile and pretend that they are just like every other couple.. Soyeon repeated the phrase like a mantra in her head, hoping that it would somehow make her believe in it. It was then when she reached the reception, the moment of the past meeting the present befalling upon her like an unwelcome fate, and all the wedding planner could do was put on a polite smile and hope to all the gods she didn’t believe in that her professionalism would override her personal qualms. “Song Ji-hoon and Yang Eunseo? It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. I’m Chae Soyeon, your wedding planner.” [/div][/div] [div class=quote] To find yourself, think for yourself. [/div][/div][/div]

Back then the wildest thing you did was to try and sneak to the boy's room hoping not to get caught while you ate snacks and gossip about school now you just gossipped about work while drinking talking how much your boss annoyed you. It would have been just like another work trip if only the president of the company didn't decide to join the trip when the news was announced than Woo-jin-ssi was coming everyone started to panic and get stressed out a trip that was supposed to be relaxing so they could stop worrying about work and their routines, was now a trip where they needed to act as they did in the company and making sure that the president was happy if they wanted to keep their jobs, in the end, the one that was supposed to make sure that the president was comfortable so while they continue bickering about the president presence, Hana just wanted to go back in time to call in sick so she wouldn't' come to the trip When the day of the trip finally came everyone was earlier than they should, even Hana was there even if their trip was hours aways, the pressure to show that they were good employees to the CEO of the company was something all wanted to achieve if they wanted to have the president acknowledged them or just for the sake to keep their jobs, but woo-jin-ssi didn't make his appearance, which it was kind of obvious, maybe he decided to join the work trip but that didn't mean he was going to travel with them, he was definitely going to travel on first-class or in an extremely fancy way that everyone that was reunited only dreamed of doing. "Who does he think he is?" "Just because he is the CEO, he believes he can arrive at the time he wants?" "Does he really think we are going to be waiting all day for him?" "Why did he decided to come in the first place?" "Yo, Hana is he going to come soon or what?" Those were the questions that Hana was receiving every five minutes as if she would have the answer or she could contact him and make him arrive even faster, just because she was his assistant didn't mean that she was his mother...Well, she was really his mother making sure that he was on time for all his meetings, keep everything in order, provide everything he needed at the moment he wanted and always be a step ahead of him to know how he would act, but most importantly fixing all the misunderstandings that his extreme honesty cause. "I'm sure he is going to arrive soon, if the president is late, something important must have happened, he is a busy man and we need to understand him, he cleared his busy schedule in order to be here so we should be patient with him" was Hana's response, but that didn't convince that much her colleagues, it was like she was the only member of team Han Woo-jin. When everyone arrived at the guesthouse it was as they forgot their boss was coming to the trip and started relaxing before the CEO arrived, everyone was starting to have fun except for one person and that was Hana, she knew the president and as soon as he arrived, he was going to ask for something and just as that thought was on her mind she saw someone going out of a car, that's when she noticed the figure of the CEO, as she made her way towards her boss she took a look on his outfit. For him, casual clothing was using a suit that was a couple of millions cheaper than the ones he used in the company? Or he just didn't get the memo? He wouldn't go to say anything about her clothes, right? All her expensive and fancy clothes were her work clothes, so she was hoping he wouldn't expect she would dress the same way. The dictionary defined the word as the state of being united as spouses in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law, but in reality, that word had a deeper meaning it wasn't only the state of being with someone and having it recognized by the law it meant that you were ready to spend the rest of your life with that person, accept and love every one of their flaws and create a life together where they would be with each other in the best and worst times. When Ji-hoon thought on his future wife, he always imagined someone that would be okay with him not being perfect all the time, someone he could start a family with and that would show him that life was something else other than working and to always be on top, someone that would show him how to be a human. Or at least that's what he thought he wanted in a wife since he has never really thought about marriage until his parents started telling him to marry Eunseo otherwise he would regret it if he didn't have someone like her as his wife. Eunseo as a wife. Was something he really never thought during the four years he has been dating her, sure, she made him happy, not your extreme happiness, but he always had a good time when they were together, he understood her and she understood him, so it was okay to marry her, right? He wasn't having doubts and it wasn't like he could just end the engagement if he wanted, and he knew everyone was expecting their wedding, thanks to Eunseo that made sure that everyone knew minutes after he popped the question. But weren't you supposed to feel this happiness that you couldn't describe once you knew you were with your soulmate? Or all this time the books and movies just lied to him and there wasn't such a thing? But now he was engaged and as time passed Ji-hoon found that getting married wasn't as simple as he thought, he really never cared how his wedding was going to be if he never thought of Eunseo as a wife until his parents brought the subject he really never thought how his wedding was going to be, but he was surprised how women became really excited for this, it was one of the most important days of their lives so he could understand why they wanted everything to be perfect. Even if he really never cared how his wedding was going to be, he knew for a fact that he was the guy that didn't like going full out, the big wedding with millions of guests where he would only know just a couple of them, the extravagant menu with dishes he wasn't even able to pronounce and spending an unimaginable amount of money on a wedding was something that really wasn't the cup of tea of Ji-hoon, but something he learned while dating Eunseo was that once she got something in her head it was better to let her have it for the sake of everyone around her, including Ji-hoon, so if she wanted that kind of wedding he wouldn't oppose even if he thought it was over the top and he wanted something more simple and personal, but the one that had the last word in this kind of situations was always Eunseo. And that's why he was now waiting with Eunseo to meet their wedding planner, he didn't know if he felt relieved he wouldn't have to plan his wedding with Eunseo alone or if he felt sorry for the wedding planner that was supposed to make Eunseo's dreams come true. "This one of the best wedding planning agencies in all of Seoul, our wedding was going to be the envy of everyone, I can already see al the headers talking about it, everything needs to be perfect" Eunseo told him with a smile. At that moment he knew he was sorry for the wedding planner "I'm sure they are going to do their best so our wedding fills all your requirements" he replied to his fiancee "They better will, I won't admit a no for an answer in what I want" the future wife added. The conversation of the engaged couple was interrupted by the voice of a woman “Song Ji-hoon and Yang Eunseo? It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. I’m Chae Soyeon, your wedding planner.” the pair look at their wedding planner "Thank you for your service, we are glad you are going to help us plan our wedding" Ji-hoon said to the wedding planner and then turn to see his fiancee "Chae Soyeon? Are you really the Chae Soyeon that was in the ballet? Now you are a wedding planner? What a surprise and now you are planning our wedding doesn't that make you happy? To see your fellow dance partner getting married, the turns that life takes are wonderful don't you think?" Eunseo say to the wedding planner, Ji-hoon never heard Eunseo talked about her, but it was good to have someone you knew and was close to help you plan your wedding, right? Stardust Galaxy Stardust Galaxy [/div][/div] [div class=post][div class=scroll] Like one of the trusted pillars in Woo-jin’s life, it came as no surprise to find his secretary walking towards him as soon as he stepped out of the vehicle. Her presence was almost as normal as it was to breathe and while he might never openly admit it, it had become something he relied on. Perhaps it was a mere by-product of the years spent working together, the days counting ever so up of her assisting him in his work. Or, maybe, there was something bigger at play; something fateful that bound their life strings together. An unexplainable connection. It was, after all, not exactly her credentials that pushed him to hire the woman as his personal assistant. Sure, they were not bad at all, but objectively speaking, she was not the most qualified out of the selective pool. Nevertheless, there was something different about her that he could not quite shake. It had been almost like a magnetic pull, a foreign sensation emerging the first time they had met. As uncomfortable as the CEO normally was around anyone unfamiliar, it was not the case with Hana. Her presence was gentle, almost soothing, like a berceuse of warming familiarity. Woo-jin did not know how or why, but he felt like she was the person he could trust the most out of all the candidates. Therefore, his decision had already been made the moment her job interview ended. It was a bit of a risk, he was aware, but Hana had yet to prove him wrong about choosing her – even though her current appearance was not like anything he expected. His eyes trailed down the casual attire of her, eyebrows furrowing in confusion at the absence of her usual professional appearance. It was odd to see her in such an informal state of dressing, the sight being something novel. She almost looked like a new person, and if it was not for the familiar mien she exhibited through the casual exterior, the CEO might not have recognized her. He slowly registered her words, the questions resounding in his mind. He cleared his throat and averted his eyes from her clothes to her face. “The trip was fine, so you do not need to change anything about the details of the return,” he responded. His gaze slowly lowered back to the attire and the CEO found himself feeling more and more like a fish out of the water. If his assistant above all was dressed like that, then he could, without doubt, presume that the others were wearing similar garbs. Oh, this was bad. All Woo-jin wanted was to obtain a good impression from his fellow colleagues on his first work-trip, but it seemed that his choice of clothes might have the reverse effect. If they were to see him dressed like this, then it would only confirm their conception of him. They could regard it as another sign that he was nothing more than the stoic CEO they worked under or even worse, they could view it as a deliberate move to assert his status upon them and flaunt his wealth. No, this wouldn’t do. He needed to think of something quick before any of the others caught his arrival. “It appears that I have been under a wrong impression of the suitable attire for this trip.” he stated awkwardly while adjusting the cuffs of his suit. Woo-jin figured out that there was no point pretending how utterly incongruous his current appearance was and continued expressing his wishes in comfortable honesty. “And I do not wish to bring a different aura to this work trip nor make things less relaxing than the previous years, so it looks like a change of clothes is needed.” His gaze briefly narrowed to the guesthouse to ensure that it was still the two of them, before returning back to his assistant, a plan in his mind. “I could use your assistance in acquiring a new outfit if you don’t mind miss Song. Unfortunately, I am far less knowledgeable about the proper etiquette that comes with these work trips and don’t know which clothes are most suitable.” Woo-jin felt slightly bad for requesting Hana to give up her free time to go on an outfit hunting trip, but he truly did not know what else to do. The people closest to him were most likely occupied with their own jobs and consulting another colleague was out of the question. Hana was the next person he trusted the most and one far more versed in the do’s and don’t’s of the yearly work trip. “You can inform the others that my flight has been delayed. I will be back in the car when you return to avoid being seen in advance. “ [/div][/div] [div class=quote]Truth never damages a cause that is just [/div][/div][/div]

LOCATION. Seoul ATTIRE. here INTERACTIONS. ji-hoon, Eunseo TAGS. Stardust Galaxy Stardust Galaxy [/div][/div] [div class=post][div class=scroll] It had been years since Soyeon had crossed paths with the woman who had, essentially, killed her dream career because…. well, the motive was still unconfirmed. Soyeon could well assume that the betrayal of her former friend was due to envy, but the occurrence of itself had made her question whether or not their friendship was genuine in the first place. Perhaps she was supposed to be a mere pawn in the grand scheme of things, a cover to veil the guileful persona that was Eunseo. Perhaps she was the unfortunate collateral damage of an act born from desperation and pressure. Or, maybe, Eunseo had truly perceived herself to be the heroine and Soyeon the antagonist. Whatever it was, Eunseo had achieved her goal; she became lead role for the recital and was now one of the most successful prima ballerina’s in Seoul. It seemed like Eunseo was living the perfect life and that, somehow, made this ‘reunion’ even more bitter. Soyeon was convinced that she had moved on from the whole ordeal, her family’s fall from high society having partly forced her to build a bridge and get over it, but now that she was standing in front of her, she could not help but feel an old sensation of resentment. Suddenly, Soyeon got confronted with the possibility that she might've never been truly over what transpired all those years ago. Emotions she thought to have made peace with, like anger and hurt, washed over her like a tidal wave, demanding to be validated and heard. The fire in her raged and roiled, challenging to scorch the person who wronged her those years ago. Eunseo’s words only powered the deep urge to abandon the professional induced manners and head straight for the confrontation, the earlier formal composure beginning to crumble. Anyone else might only hear a sweetness to Eunseo’s wording, but not her. No, all Soyeon could hear was the bragging quality of it, another i-have-bested-you-in-life-isn’t-that-nice speech craftily veiled under a cloak of fake excitement. Her grip on the tablet tightened (as if letting loose meant losing control over herself) and it took every ounce of self-discipline to keep the emotions placid and reply with equal merriment. “It is certainly a small world. I could not be happier to assist in making the dream wedding of an old classmate come true.” She smiled back at Eunseo, though the jollity was not reflected in her eyes. “Speaking of the wedding,” her gaze fleeted from her friend to the groom, and then something unexplainable happened. Her heart stopped and her lungs sucked in an involuntary gasp, an odd sensation, almost akin to melancholy, sweeping over her. A sudden urge to laugh and cry at the same time befell upon her and the wedding planner felt as if there was a sense of familiarity dancing around him. It rendered her speechless for a moment, the singularity of the sensations staggering her. What was going on? Soyeon blinked, expelling the enigmatic daze that had engulfed her for a moment, before quickly recomposing herself “- let’s head to my office to start the consultation.” She finished, albeit a bit awkwardly, and gestured with her hand to follow her. She offered them another smile, before turning on her heel and starting to walk back to her office. During the walk, her mind wandered back to the peculiar moment, back to the unknown emotions that had taken her by such a surprise. Puzzled, the woman tried to find any reasoning for it, but her mental search was without any results. There was nothing she could think of to warrant such strange sensations to arise; they were complete strangers to each other. There was absolutely no logic involved, which made it all the more bizarre. Soyeon furrowed her eyebrows in befuddlement, before mentally shaking her head at herself. This was not the time to ponder on about what happened and why. Prioritisation - conducting a consultation now, questioning her sanity later. Besides, it might just have all been her imagination. At arrival, she opened the door and stepped aside to allow her clients to enter the room first. “Please go ahead and take a seat,” she told them. After the groom and bride entered the room and were seated, Soyeon closed the door and walked over to her glass desk. Taking a seat herself in front of them, she crossed her leg over the other and grabbed a notebook along with a pen. “Right, well, if you guys are ready, we can start the consultation,” she smiled, gaze switching between the two. “Did you guys already have a date in mind?” [/div][/div] [div class=quote] To find yourself, think for yourself. She glanced at the president and noticed how his eyes trailed on her outfit, did he hate it? thought it was hideous and she didn't have any fashion sense? Or was having a cultural shock to seeing her in casual clothes? Which now standing in front of each other it seemed like they were heading to completely different places. Did he stand out on his suit? Or maybe was her on her casual attire? When she received an answer to her questions about his trip she was glad he was satisfied with it, she knew that if he found something that he didn't like, even if it was just the most trivial thing she needed to fix it as soon as possible, so knowing that he was satisfied with her work made Hana have a sense of relieve. And once again he was staring at her clothing, should she mention that when the etiquette was casual it didn't mean to wear something luxurious and formal like a suit, or should she just play it cool and pretend that it was okay for him to be dressed like him even if that meant that would cause more gossip between their peers. Even if there were times where Hana wanted to kill Woo-Jin for his crazy requests and for her trying to solve the problems he got due to his hones mouth, she was also his loyal protector, she wasn't sure if it was because he believed in her when no one else did even if it wasn't her dream job he gave her the opportunity to work with them or maybe it was because she saw how hard he tried to fit in and seemed more approachable like this time. But just when Hana was about to say something, the president started talking about his mistake in his choice of clothing “It appears that I have been under a wrong impression of the suitable attire for this trip.” after those words Hana felt like a weight was lifted off her shoulders, but just as the weight was lifted a bigger weight was positioned on top of her “And I do not wish to bring a different aura to this work trip nor make things less relaxing than the previous years, so it looks like a change of clothes is needed.” This is it, now she was supposed to run all over Jeju to find some clothes that would be of the liking of the president while he waited calmly. “I could use your assistance in acquiring a new outfit if you don’t mind miss Song. Unfortunately, I am far less knowledgeable about the proper etiquette that comes with these work trips and don’t know which clothes are most suitable.” Those were the words that sealed the coffin of Hana, did he just ask her for his opinion more like her choosing an outfit for him, the guy who wore designer clothes like if it was something natural and now he wanted his assistant to choose an outfit, she studied fashion design, but to choose an outfit for the CEO of a fashion company scared Hana to death. What if he hated it? Ad he fired her, she needed the job more than anything. "Yes, Woo-jin-ssi. I'll go and inform them at this moment, I'll not make you wait" She said as she rushed to the guest house and inform her colleagues that the president was arriving later than expected, with groans and complains of her peers Hana left the house and rushed towards the car taking a seat next to the president. "Sorry for the wait, the other members of the company have been informed of your late arrival and I'll search right away boutiques that are opened that we can visit, it would only take off a couple of hours to get a complete outfit put together" Was this getting awkward or it was only her? He thought that having someone that Eunseo knew while growing up helping them planning their wedding was something good at least she would know that Eunseo wasn't an easy person, she could pass as a sweet girl which she was, sometimes, but when something was on her mind she would get whiny and angry, after the years of dating he managed to get used to her personality so he only felt sorry for the stranger that was set to help them plan their wedding. But Ji-hoon was totally mistaken maybe having someone that knew Eunseo was a wrong idea or maybe it was just exactly the girl that was in front of them if he remembered correctly her name was Chae Soyeon, did something happen between the two of them? He was sure the answer was yes if stares could kill both Eunseo's and Soyeon's would have killed the other. Did planning a wedding was this awkward or were the two females standing there just making things more complicated? Either way, it was a journey that Ji-hoon wasn't sure he was ready to take. When Ji-hoon glanced at Soyeon just as she started talking about his wedding when his eyes meet hers, he felt a pain in his heart as if he was regretting or missing something, he could not describe what was he feeling at that moment, it was like if the missing piece of the puzzle that Ji-hoon was trying to solve finally appear as weird as that sounded, it was like if there a bigger connection than just groom and wedding planner. Why did he felt s lonely so suddenly? He couldn't understand what was happening. As the wedding planner mentioned they should go to her office to talk about Jihoon and Eunseo's wedding, he felt like he was brought back to reality. What did just happened? Even if the woman was just a few steps ahead of him, it was like if she was kilometers away from him as if any step she took she was just leaving him behind without him being able to reach her. He was sure he had never seen her before, yet why she felt so familiar? Maybe it was his lack of sleep due to all the work he had going on in the last couple of days. As he and Eunseo took a seat on the wedding planner's office everything felt more real, he was really getting married, that's when Soyeon started talking “Did you guys already have a date in mind?” He hadn't thought about that or it was something he had discussed with Eunseo, he wasn't a big fan of cold weather, so he was hoping his fiancee would want during spring or summer. "We haven't discussed that, but I think a spring wedding would be nice, the weather is nice during that time. What do you think?" he said to his fiancee "There's nothing to discuss, we are having a spring wedding on a boat, I heard they are quite popular and Jihoon-ssi and I only want the best, you can get us that, right Soyeon-ssi" Ji-hoon was sure he was going to have quite the experience by trying to plan this wedding. Han Woo-jin
CEO

Some people could point out the ironic hilarity of the situation: a CEO of a multi-billion fashion company getting educated by his assistant on casual clothing? That had to be somewhat of a joke, right? Unfortunately, it was anything but one in Woo-jin’s regard. His expertise primarily extended to leadership and analytics, his knowledge about fashion somehow coming second and more gradually as he spent more time in the fashion world. He knew what the clientele expected of 1TIME and could almost always predict which trends might rise in the nearby future, but everything originated from a business standpoint. His decisions as a CEO were almost all based on data, his knowledge only stretching as far as what was required of him in the business environment. His mind operated within a limited dimension, without much flexibility regarding foreign situation. And this, most certainly, classified as a foreign situation.

In hindsight, Woo-jin supposed he could have expected for his employees to be dressed differently than at work, considering the definition of a work field trip implied that they were, in fact, not really working. But then again, the business did fund this trip, so one could conclude that it was still related to work and therefore conditioned the same sort of approach…? It was all very confusing, really. He guessed that this whole experience was going to follow the lines of expect-the-unexpected, which in its essence, was not necessarily bad. It did not make the CEO any less anxious about joining this particular trip, though. He just hoped he would return home with its reputation still intact and the status of the boss – employee relationship ranging between neutral and semi-positive.

Woo-jin nodded in acknowledgement as his secretary had taken the seat beside him in the car and told him about the course of action. He trusted her completely with this mission, knowing she was far knowledgeable in this area and possible good boutiques. “Very well, I will leave you to lead this trip.” He raised his hand towards the driver to signal that they could leave now. As commanded, the driver started the engine of the car again and swiftly manoeuvred its way out of the parking lot, back into the direction they just came from.

As usual, Woo-jin simply sat still, gaze forward. His senses did not pick any awkwardness in the air, no matter how heavy it was, and proceeded to enjoy the silence that rested between them. He would not know how this particular situation could evoke any uneasiness among them: it was not like this was the first time the two had sat in a car beside each other. His personal assistant had accompanied him many times when he had to travel somewhere for work. This was no different in his view.

In fact, this moment with her alone presented the perfect opportunity to gain some more intel about the field trip. Huh, how come he hadn’t thought of that aspect before? Querying Hana was an excellent strategy in obtaining more information about how this whole field trip functioned and would lead to less surprised and less miscalculations on his part. His lips curved into a ghost of a smile at the idea, more than pleased at himself for coming up with it, and the man turned his head towards his assistant. “Miss Song, since you have been to this trip before, could you perhaps inform me about what activities you usually do?”

Chae Soyeon
Wedding planner

Based on past experiences, Soyeon could only hope that the groom had a semblance of a backbone. Otherwise, it was no doubt that Eunseo would take the complete reign over this whole wedding with her unrealistically extravagant ideas. They would not be the first clients who had an unfeasible ideal when it came to the wedding, but the history between her and Eunseo certainly complicated matters more. Soyeon could only imagine to what kind of lengths her former friend would go to get what she wanted, and was not sure whether she wanted to enter that battle. It was worse enough that this phantom of the past had come to seemingly torment her once more, the last thing she wanted was for the woman to ruin her current career as well.

Soyeon nodded as the groom began to speak about the wedding, but even in interview modus, different emotions surged through her. An odd kind of ache and longing simultaneously blossomed inside her chest and her eyes absorbed every small feature present; from his dark yet intriguing eyes to the particular shape of his lips. For a moment, Soyeon found herself wholly entranced by the person right in front of her. It was only when another voice piqued that the wedding planner snapped out of her unexplainable haze. Blinking back into focus, she forced her attention back to reality. What followed, however, was a realization that brought utter shame. Soyeon could barely believe what just had happened. What was the matter with her? Did she seriously just ogle one of her clients? Her cheeks heated up in embarrassment and she mentally slapped herself for even partaking in such an unethical act.

Get it together Soyeon.

Soyeon exhaled a short breath, hoping to the very god she didn’t believe in that such a thing would never happen again, and prompted herself to listen to whatever Eunseo had to add. The entitled attitude displayed came as to no surprise, but it was that specific detail in the wish that made her breath hitch. A boat. Eunseo wanted to have her wedding on a boat. An all too familiar dread seeped into her bloodstream upon hearing that word, her heart thrumming loudly in accord with her fear. Her mind immediately wandered to a scenery of the sea, which to many would induce a calming sensation, but not to her. All Soyeon felt was complete and utter anxiety.

But this was not about her, was it? Her own emotions did not matter in this equation, not in the professional setting they were in and certainly not when it involved Eunseo. They wanted to have a wedding on a boat, therefore it was her job to make it reality. Soyeon pushed down the anxiety at this heavy reminder and proceeded to nod in response, her lips curved into another polite smile. “A boat you say? We do have multiple boat venues in our portfolio but I need to know some other details first in order to ensure that the venue suits your wishes best.” She lowered her eyes and wrote down the words ‘spring wedding’ and ‘ boat venue’ in her notebook, before looking up again. “For example, do you have an estimation of how many guests you wish to invite?” her gaze switched from Eunseo to the groom. “ and do you have an idea of the budget that you are willing to spend?”

Saying that Hana wouldn't have a crisis while she tried to find clothes for her boss would have been a complete lie, she was a complete nervous wreck. Some people would have thought that she was exaggerating, how hard could it be to choose a nice pair of jeans and a shirt, casual clothing wasn't anything out of this world besides she didn't study to be a fashion designer she wouldn't have at least the fashion sense to come up with a proper outfit?

Of course, she could do that, but the problem wasn't finding an outfit that could work if it was just another person she wouldn't be having an existential crisis right now, but it was the fact that she needed to choose clothes for Han Woo-jin the Han Woo-jin who was the CEO of one most important fashion companies in South Korea, who happened to be also her boss.

And even if it wasn't a difficult task what kind of clothes would be on the good side of the CEO? The man who was dressed head to toe in designer clothes, which she was sure were more expensive than the rent of her apartment, she was sure that his underwear was more expensive than all the clothes she was wearing at that moment, but she needed to try her best make the best out of this terrible scenario, and pray to everything she knew that she would find some clothes that her boss even if he didn't like them would agree on wearing.

Hana gave the instructions to the driver to the nearest boutique that she could find and that would be able to fulfill to some extent Woo-jin's expectations, after the that the car became silent, it wasn't the first time they had been together on a car, most of the time she was like a shadow to him that would follow him to meetings and making sure he was following his schedule, so she wasn't expecting that the CEO would start a conversation “Miss Song, since you have been to this trip before, could you perhaps inform me about what activities you usually do?"

So, he was curious about the work trip, did he had some expectations about and had this idea that everyone worked diligently just like every day and would get surprised it was more a trip to relax that was pay by the company "We usually gather and have retrospective about what we have accomplished during the year and the goals we want to achieve the next year, you could say is more a trip to help our teamwork and get to know our coworkers more to establish good relationships with them, we also have activities to distract and de-stress ourselves from our daily schedule"

After the assistant explained to her boss what was the purpose of the trip, the driver told them that they have arrived to the address that he was told to "Should we go now?" Hana said to her boss as she started getting out of the car, the boutique she chose to come was one of the most famous in Jeju and that was sure they would have clothes that the CEO would agree on trying on "This boutique is one of the highest-reviewed here in Jeju, their clothing is known for having a casual but also chic theme. I'm sure here we can have something of your liking here"

Song Ji-hoon
groom
A boat, his fiancee wanted to have their wedding on a boat, the just the mention of that word made Ji-hoon's body to shiver, he wasn't afraid of a lot of things, but being on a boat or being near one just caused this inexplicable fear, he didn't know the reason why he was afraid of such thing, he never had a traumatic experience that would have triggered this fear on him, it was more of a situation that he since he was born and that fear was already with him.

Ji-hoon knew that a wedding was more special for the bride, it was like a dream that most girls had and some even had it planned since they were kids and it seemed that Eunseo knew what she wanted and wouldn't change her mind, she would get what she wanted but him the groom didn't have a voice in this matter? Of course, he wanted Eunseo to be happy it was a special day for just as it was for him, but he needed to have his voice heard.

"A boat? Don't you think we should discuss the venue or see other options? I'm sure a garden would be a nice location; we could even find one with a view to the see if that's what you want to be near it. I think it would be more comfortable for us and for all the guests, some of them can get dizzy and if something happens it would be difficult to ask for help" the groom started saying, trying to find the perfect excuse that would make her fiancee change her idea without saying out loud he was terrified of even being close to a boat and now having to see different venues related to them, just made Ji-hoon feel sick to the stomach.

"You want our wedding to be in a garden? That's so boring. Sure it can be cute and all that, but you don't want our wedding to be something people remember even if years have passed? I'm a famous ballerina and you are a really important prosecutor, do you really want our wedding to be the same as the one of just another regular person? See, you want it to be different, so we are not changing the venue" Eunseo started talking, and every word that the girl said just made Ji-hoon feel that there was no turning back and he would have to deal with one of his biggest fears, that's what you did for love, right?

The groom just let out a heavy sigh, there was no way to change Eunseo's mind when she was set into something if she wanted a wedding on a boat she would have her wedding just the way she wanted it, that's when the wedding planner started talking again “A boat you say? We do have multiple boat venues in our portfolio but I need to know some other details first in order to ensure that the venue suits your wishes best. For example, do you have an estimation of how many guests you wish to invite? And do you have an idea of the budget that you are willing to spend?”

As she started talking again, Ji-hoon felt as all his problems fade away, her sweet and calm voice was like a lullaby that was telling him that everything would be fine and at that moment he forgot he was about to get married on the place of one of his biggest fears at that moment he felt as if it was Soyeon the one that would think that a wedding on a boat was a good idea then he would just trust her blindly.

Wait why he was getting mesmerized by the voice of Soyeon, why he wanted to hear the woman talk about whatever she wanted if that meant he could hear her voice, he needed to get back to reality she couldn't be intrigued by another woman, not when he was engaged and was planning a wedding, well his fiancee was planning their wedding, but either way, he had made a decision of getting married to the girl next to him, but even the thought of that made Ji-hoon's heart ache and he couldn't explain why.

That's when the voice of Eunseo brought him back to reality, he needed to get back to the planning of his wedding "At least 1000 guests it could be changed to more so maybe 1500? And we don't have a budget, we'll spend the money that is necessary to make this wedding something no one can forget" the statement of his fiancee made Ji-hoon be in complete shock, maybe 1500 guests? Where would they get 1500 guests to come to their wedding? Ji-hoon didn't know that many people, his parents, and sister were 3 guests and he was sure Hana had a boyfriend so that would be 4, at the rest of his family would make 50 people maybe? and his colleagues with their partners would make at least other 50 people and he thought he was already exaggerating that amount of people didn't even make the tenth part of all the guests Eunseo wanted on the wedding and no budget? How much did she was expecting to spend? He had enough money for a nice wedding and he knew that Eunseo's parents were wealthy and would give all the money she wanted if that meant she was happy, but he wanted to be able to pay for his own wedding, the fact that Eunseo was trying to rely on the money of her parents hurt Ji-hoon's pride, he wanted to be able to provide to the one that would be his future wife, what kind of man would he be if he couldn't make his wife happy?

"Are you sure about all those guests, I would prefer a more intimate wedding with our family and close friends, I think that would make it more special and would let us have a budget that I can afford, I'm not saying that I don't want you to get everything you want, but maybe reducing the cost would be better I want to be able to pay for our wedding, we don't have to have a simple wedding, but maybe we could use that money for our future as a married couple, don't you think?" the groom started saying, hoping that his sincerity would touch something on his fiancee and would agree with him.

"We can't have an intimate wedding we need to invite all the acquaintances of my father, you might not get it now but is more the social status and we have to have the most important people in Seoul in our wedding and don't worry about the money, my father agree on paying everything, we can spend as much as we want so don't worry about it, just let me handle everything" Eunseo said as she leaned and give him a kiss on the cheek, maybe after all Ji-hoon wasn't going to have a say on his own wedding.

Chae Soyeon ( neon reverie neon reverie )

Han Woo-jin
CEO

Hana’s explanation of the work trip’s purpose and activities brought more confusion than clarity in Woo-jin’s case. Her narrative brought the idea that this trip was still very much related to their work while their informal attires, in his opinion, contradicted it. He guessed team-building exercised could be beneficial to the corporation itself but the concept of obtaining higher levels of coordination while holding a mini-vacation was not very logical to him. If improving their teamwork and job performance was really the essence of this trip, then wasn’t it better to just hold a special team day at the office? In his eyes, the best way of stimulating further professional development would be working itself and not this.

He knitted his eyebrows, finding the de-stressing part even more puzzling. It was surely a foreign idea, needing a separate trip to unwind yourself from your current profession. The way his mind rationalized, it was illogical to desire a distraction from your job. Perhaps that view could be partly blamed on his workaholic tendencies, but Woo-jin really could not see why such a thing would be in demand by his employees. Shouldn’t their work be fun enough to satisfy them? Was their daily schedule that stress-inducing that they required time away from it?

“I am afraid that I fail to see a correlation between needing a special trip away and improving teamwork when it can be done at the office.” He stated, perhaps more bluntly than intended. Realizing himself that it could sound like passing off a harsh judgement, the CEO cleared his throat again, before adding: “but I suppose that joining this trip could offer some more enlightenment on the matter. I do look forward to experiencing this team-building trip.”

His gaze then narrowed to the window, catching the exterior of what it looked like a local boutique. His observation was quickly confirmed by the assistant as the two got out of the car and he nodded in acknowledgement. As expected, Hana had done her research well and selected a place suitable for the mission. Woo-jin held no doubts when it came to his assistant’s capabilities and, despite what people might think, was not afraid to let her take the reigns. Facts were, after all, that he would be clueless without her in this particular situation. As a matter of fact, his trust in her was near such a point of blindless that Hana could jokingly assign him a circus outfit and he would accept it like truth and wear it. ( Not like that would actually happen – but at least the possibility was there.)

“Very well, you may go first,” he responded and waited till she began walking before following closely behind her.

As he entered the boutique, he instantly noted that the interior surprisingly did not look that far from the stores you could encounter in Seoul. He had expected everything to look a bit more antiquated but the store outlay was rather modern. Almost instinctively, his gaze travelled over to the formal wear, and with a certain amount of satisfaction, he observed the different suits that were to his liking. It took a firm tug at the mind, however, to remind himself that they came here specifically for the opposite style. Woo-jin’s eyes immediately abandoned the suits and instead focused on his assistant, curious where she would lead the two.

Unbeknownst to him, their entrance had caught the attention of the staff as well as some of the other shoppers. People glanced into their way and whispers were traded in speculation, the stark differences between the two attires evoking multiple inquiries. A few females first gushed about the looks that the CEO sported and questions were raised upon his status.

“he looks rich…” one of them whispered.

Next, their attention shifted over to Hana, but with less enthusiasm and more judgement.

“Do you think they are together?”

“She looks too poor for him.”

“How do you think she was able to score him?”

“What would he even see in her?”

“I think they look pretty cute-“

Between the gossiping, one of the staff did gather the courage and soon approached the two. Smiling brightly, the woman bowed, before greeting the two. “Hello and welcome to Ivoire.” Her gaze switched between the two, though not without lingering on Woo-jin, “is there anything I could help you with?”

Chae Soyeon
Wedding planner

Being a wedding planner, Soyeon had gotten used to being an involuntary spectator to a couple’s quarrel, especially when it was about what a lot of people deemed the most important day in their lives. It was certainly not the first time where the bride and groom had different visions on how their ideal wedding would look like and the wedding planner was all too aware how high these emotions could run during a consultation. Hell, sometimes her lovely office could turn into a real warzone if the couple were hell-bent enough on their own ideas. Soyeon was, of course, trained to remain impartial throughout the whole ordeal and to strife towards finding a compromise between the two, but in this case, her personal history quickly proved for it to be a lot more difficult.

In truth, she really felt sorry for the groom. She could see and hear how he desired for a smaller and intimate wedding instead of the grand spectacle Eunseo had ideated. Unfortunately for him, Eunseo had lived a life where the sky was the limit and any ideas other than hers should be non-existent. The world could rip asunder and Eunseo would still have her wedding the exact way she wanted. In another world, Soyeon could have admired the drive of that ballerina, but in this one, she only pitied any person who had to deal with her for more than five minutes.

As the conflict progressed, Soyeon could not help but wonder how such a sensible person like Ji-hoon could ever find himself getting married to someone as extravagant as Eunseo. They seemed like polar opposites, and while the concept of opposites attracts did exist, she herself stood by the notion that too many differences would lead to a destructive discord. Her eyes switched between the two as they laid down their arguments, quickly picking up different details. It was clear that Eunseo wanted to hold a wedding that was not only memorable to them but to the whole city of Seoul as well. The way she emphasised on their social status made another thought to enter Soyeon’s mind. What if this union was established more so for the enhancement of their rank on the social ladder rather than for romantic purposes? For some reason, a faint flutter could be felt in her stomach as the thought crossed her mind. It was almost alike to hope, as if the possibility of the couple not being in love with each other was something good.

It shocked her.

And as a whiplash to such a betraying sensation, the flutters instantly dissolved and the muscles of her stomach tightened with bridled shame. What on earth was that? How in any kind of conscious could she even think about her clients not loving one another and feeling heartened about it? This was completely unlike her, and she hated it.

Soyeon had to fight the frown that was materializing on her visage and a part of her brain promptly reminded herself of the task at hand. Right, this was not the time nor the place to harp on whatever that was. She needed to stop getting distracted by these weird feelings; it was completely unprofessional. Straightening her posture once more, the wedding planner steeled her focus and cleared her throat.

“So, just to summarize: you are looking for a boat venue that is able to hold at least 1000 guests and for now, there is no maximum to the budget?”

Her gaze travelled from Eunseo to Ji-hoon and once again, she felt sorry for the groom. Her mind mulled over different ways how she could help him in all of this without angering Eunseo, before coming up with perhaps an unconventional plan. It was risky but could be worth the short. Please let this work, she thought nervously, before placing another smile on her face.

“I must admit that this is the first time organizing a wedding as unique as yours, so I might need some expertise from one of my colleagues. Miss Yang, would you mind talking some more about the venue with one of my colleagues? She is more knowledgeable on the boat venues that could fit your needs. I can stay here and discuss some of the other finances with your husband. This way, we might get the most out of our first consultation and we can go right ahead with visiting a couple of venues the next appointment."

Hana hoped that her explanation about their working trip wouldn't have the result of the cancelation because of her, she was sure that if Woo-jin-ssi didn't understand her explanation he would end getting rid of the trip and she could already see the angry faces of her colleagues when they find out she was the reason of the sudden cancellation, but it seemed the CEO was intrigued by their meeting that she thought that maybe she hadn't messed up yet.

Once they arrived at the boutique and went inside Han felt satisfied by her choice she was sure that Woo-jin-ssi would like the place and when she looked at him she noticed he agree on this place, just by his posture Hana knew that he had been thinking she did a good job, she felt relieved and proud of herself, she wanted to make Woo-jin-ssi happy and make him feel comfortable in this environment that was unknown for him, she started thinking if this was because she wanted to keep her job or she really wanted to impress the CEO, maybe the weather in Jeju was getting into her head.

But it seemed not everything wouldn't go exactly as she thought as soon as they stepped inside the stores the pair received the glances of the customers, especially the CEO, Hana was already used to the attention he received, she even agreed that Woo-jin was good looking if you didn't have a crush on the CEO then was something was wrong with you, but most of the time Woo-jin shine brighter than Hana and everyone's attention was on him but this time it seemed it was the opposite.

“Do you think they are together?”

“She looks too poor for him.”

“How do you think she was able to score him?”

“What would he even see in her?”

“I think they look pretty cute-“

She listened to those comments and try to ignore them if you don't listen to them they won't hurt you, after years of being compared to her older brother Hana was used to not being enough and right now people were saying out loud that she wasn't worth it to be next of the CEO and maybe they were right, but at that moment she couldn't let her emotions being shown she was supposed to do help her boss.

When the voice of a woman welcomed them Hana smiled as the employee asked them if there was something she could do for them "We are looking for a casual outfit. Would you please take us to the male section of the store?" Hana replied the woman took them to the section they were looking for and told them that if they needed something just to ask her, Hana thanked the woman and as soon as the employee left it was Hana's turn to work and find an outfit for Woo-jin, she knew she needed to find something that worked and that needed to be fast, she couldn't have him trying multiple combinations of clothes she needed to be effective on her choices.

"I'll go and search for some clothes, please take a seat. I won't take long" she said to her boss before she went on the search for the perfect outfit, she couldn't dress him up in something extremely casual that wouldn't fit Woo-jin's personality, he needed something that still showcased that formality of the CEO but with the playfulness of not having to a suit. She searched through the clothes until she decided on different items and after reviewing together she was satisfied with the result, she felt proud of the outcome and was sure the CEO would like it.

She returned to where the CEO was holding the clothes she has decided for her boss "This is the clothes I have chosen for you to try on. I have made sure they fit your usual style and it would be something you would be comfortable wearing. I think it would be better if you try them on in case we need to change the sizing"

Was planning a wedding that stressful? It was only the first appointment and Ji-hoon already felt exhausted and drained, he knew the type of personality Eunseo had but he would never think he won't have a saying on his own wedding, would that always be the case once he was married to Eunseo, was he doing the right decision? Could they spend the rest of their lives together? Or would he just be a prop for Eunseo just to show off? He couldn't believe that those thoughts came into his mind, he loved Eunseo and because he did, that's why he asked her to marry him.

He was sure it was just the stress of the planning and realizing that Eunseo and he had such different opinions about what they wanted, even if he wanted to oppose to everything he could see how much Eunseo wanted their wedding go according to how she wanted, he thought that maybe he could give up and accept her requests it was going to be just for a day, he could be brave for his fiancee and maybe that would help him face his fear, he could do it if that meant he could see Eunseo happy.

Once again the wedding planner spoke, telling once again all the requirements for their wedding, once she repeated Ji-hoon haven't changed his mine that idea was too much for him even if it was said in Soyeon's voice. He noticed how she felt sorry towards him, maybe he was on his side that maybe Eunseo idea was too much, but her being their wedding planner needed to stay neutral to this whole circus they were planning to have

Once again the wedding planner spoke but this time to tell Eunseo she could go and check the venues with one of her colleagues that were more knowledgeable in the venue she was looking as she talked some of the finances of the wedding with him. Ji-hoon could notice the annoyance on Eunseo's face when she found out Soyeon was not well known on what she wanted. Thankfully she accepted without saying that much "I'll be back in a moment" she said as she excused herself once Eunseo left Ji-hoon let out a sigh he didn't know he was holding he smiled lightly at the wedding planner "I guess I should thank you for that, I was about to have a crisis over everything. But please tell me what you wanted to talk with me about the finances. Also, are weddings this stressful?"

Han Woo-jin
CEO

The gossip that travelled through the store about the two new customers fell deaf on Woo-jin’s ears. He had long been trained to block out any sort of gossip, knowing most of it was based on fallible sources. If it was of significant concern to his reputation or the business, his trusted associates would inform him about it, but other than that, the CEO did not lend an ear to the whispers of tattlers. Instead, his attention was solely accorded to the exchange between his personal assistant and the manager of the boutique. He only stiffly nodded to acknowledge the woman’s presence, though remained completely silent and followed close behind them as they began to walk towards another section of the store.

His eyes immediately started to survey the different clothing pieces that were hanging from the racks and displayed on the mannequins, his eyebrows knitting together as the visible style did not align with his concept of casual wear. To him, dressing casual often meant a suit sans perhaps the Colbert but this was a whole other realm of ‘casual.’ For a moment, all that he perceived was written off as an optical error and Woo-jin blinked as if to turn up the progressing wheel in his mind. Was this really how his employees liked to dress for these occasions?

A voice beside him shattered his thinking bubble and managed to steal his gaze away from the oversized, neon yellow hoodie that had infiltrated his sight. It took a few seconds for his mind to tune in to the words leaving his assistant’s mouth and with a delayed reaction, Woo-jin nodded in response. Despite the dissonance between his perception of the style ‘casual’ and the items displayed right in front of him, he still trusted Hana’s judgement on the matter. If wearing an unreasonably bright coloured outfit equalled blending in with his employees, he’d do it. It might be out of his comfort zone but he’d already expected this whole trip to be on the axis of that so he supposed it had to start somewhere.

As told, Woo-jin took a seat on the nearest chair and with crossed arms, patiently waited until Hana showed him some clothes to fit. He uttered a small breath of relief when she returned with a pretty neutral colour palette. No, even better than that: it looked fairly alike to what he would normally wear – just a tad less formal. He was thankful for her considerate approach and a little more at ease. “Yes, that seems smart,” he agreed and his eyes averted to search for the fitting rooms.

After having found them, Woo-jin took over the clothes from her and traded his suit for the new attire. At first, his skin tingled as the fabric was different than he was used to. However, that feeling soon subsided and that was all. No itchiness or discomfort. He tugged a bit on the sleeves to smoothen the fabric some more before opening the door of the changing room and stepping out. He turned towards the mirror on the wall next to the changing rooms and inspected the look a little closer. It looked good. He nodded in satisfaction, before turning his head towards Hana. “ I see no faults. Excellent work miss Song.” He complimented, even letting a small smile appear on his face. “Do you think we need anything more or would this one do for the duration of this work trip?”

Chae Soyeon
Wedding planner

Knowing Eunseo’s characteristics, Soyeon had half anticipated for her suggestion to be met with a tantrum and absolute refusal to be separated from her soon-to-be-husband. She certainly did not miss the displeasure that crossed Eunseo’s expression once she uttered those words, but surprisingly enough, the woman actually complied and left the room, leaving her alone with the groom.

Well, that was a step farther than she’d expected her plan to go.

Her heart started to patter like falling rain as his presence grew in intensity. Eunseo might’ve taken some of the initial tension in the room with her departure but in its place, a whole new aura filled up the air between them. Soyeon could not quite explain the energy that charged the room nor could she quite shake it. Whatever it was, it sparked nerves within. Her veil of professionalism suddenly threatened to wane again and the wedding planner found herself pulled into another whirlwind of emotions. For some reason, she wanted to just drop the wedding topic and start a conversation about each other. She wanted to know more about him than the basic clientele info she’d receive. What were his ambitions? Hobbies? Favourite place to go to?

Confliction held her hostage as she stared at him, words remaining lodged in her throat. To her luck, he was the first to speak up again. His words managed to draw a soft laugh from her and she nodded. “I wish I could tell you that stress isn’t part of the whole planning a wedding thing but it often is.” she responded with a small smile, “ but I suppose it’s given since it’s an important event in our lives, right?”

Her heartbeat quickened as she returned to the lie she’d spun about the topic of conversation. “Well, about the finances…” she started, lowering her gaze. There was a hesitation in pursuing her plan, the uncertainty as to how he would react being the main concern. After all, he was still Eunseo’s to be husband and they were practically strangers. Maybe he would not like being coaxed into discussing the wedding without his fiancé. Maybe he would be offended or angry. Soyeon bit her lip, again weighing the risk. Her head deterred her but her heart had never spoken so loudly.

“it’s not the only thing I wanted to talk to you about,” she admitted softly. Levelling her gaze again with his, she took a breathe, hoping that when she exhaled, the nerves would leave as well. That was not the case, but she persisted anyway.“ I know that Eunseo can be very …. avid about her ideas but I also know that it takes two to get married. In other words: it’s your wedding too and I wanted to see if you had some ideas of your own that we could try and incorporate.” Soyeon offered him another smile. “But I also understand if you feel uncomfortable discussing wedding ideas without your fiancé in the room. In that case, we can skip right ahead to the finance talk.”

So far, it seemed that the clothing choices of Hana for the CEO had been accepted by her boss, that only meant she was doing her work right, which was a relief knowing how Woo-Jin was expressive about his thought and what he liked and especially what he didn't like. Now it was an only matter of making sure that the size was the right one for him, and then she could give herself a pat on the shoulder telling her she did, a good job.

Hana waited while her boss changed clothes in the meantime, she checked her job emails, making sure that she was ahead for the plans of the CEO, even if she was supposed to destress from work with this trip, but old habits die hard. It didn't take long until her boss came out from the changing room, that's when she realized the monster she had created.

Sure, it was known that the CEO, was also known by his looks. And every woman was mostly attracted to him. She wouldn't lie when she started working next to him. She was mesmerized by him not believing such human existed, but as time passed and she got to realized the real personality behind the pretty face and the spell was broken, but even if Woo-Jin on his usual attire he was already receiving the looks from all the women at the store, Woo-Jin in casual attire was meant to be admired and make you wonder if saved South Korea in his past life to look like that.

Was Woo-Jin serving boyfriend looks? Of course, he was, should Hana be proud of her accomplishment or be worried about all the possible women that would be interested in him without knowing who he was. She wasn't trained to be a bodyguard, and women could become feisty when they saw such a specimen as it was Woo-Jin, sure if she wasn't his assistant she would be just the same as everyone else that would be drooling over the guy. She turned to see around the place, and as she expected, the women were already looking at him, maybe she should have chosen the most hideous clothing so they wouldn't be staring at him, but that would have put on risk her job, and she didn't want to give up her economic stability.

Maybe Woo-Jin in casual clothes was too much of a cultural shock that was making her even wondered about her existence in this world, but her thoughts were interrupted by Woo-Jin's voice “I see no faults. Excellent work miss Song.” After she heard those words, a smile was formed in her face, her job was being accepted, and she had been congratulated because of her efforts, even if it was just him saying excellent work, to her it meant a lot especially coming from the CEO. "I'm glad, you feel comfortable with my clothing choices." She replied to her boss.

Hana thought for a moment if he needed more clothes, they would return tomorrow to Seoul, and she was sure the CEO wouldn't travel back home with them, she was sure he would leave at first hour in the morning, as he wore one of his usual suits. "I can find something else for you if you would rather have another clothing choice since you feel comfortable in this kind of clothes, maybe keeping the same style with just a different color palette would work. I also believe a new pair of shoes would complement the outfit there's a shoe store just a couple of stores next to this one. I'll go and pay in the meantime, it won't take long, and after that, we can go to a different store."

Would it be rude to think that he felt relieved when Eunseo left the room? Ji-Hoon felt, that weight was picked up, from his shoulders, just the mere thought of this caused him to regret his small happiness to not be suffocated, with Eunseo's ideas with their wedding. He was supposed to marry her and spent the rest of his life next to her. And if he was getting overwhelmed and enjoying the times when his future wife wouldn't be around, wouldn't just a sign that their marriage was going to be a failure? Ji-Hoon didn't want to think that he was supposed to stay with Eunseo no matter what, it was what everyone thought it was better for him and that only good things would happen to him if he was next to her.

But as soon his soon to be wife left the room the suffocating aura was changed into something Ji-Hoon couldn't comprehend or describe, but if he had to he would describe it as if he was back to be a teenager and had those nerves of asking out his first love. Maybe it was kind of childish, but it was the best he could come up almost as if they were some kind of Romeo and Juliet that were hiding so they wouldn't get caught. But as, much as he was getting fascinated with these new feelings the regret started coming to haunt him. When, in fact, his Juliet wasn't even in the room. And they were supposed to have a happy ending contrary to the novel.

Ji-Hoon needed to focus on what was important, the wedding he couldn't be distracted and maybe these feelings were just only nervousness for having to give a big step on his life, he was supposed to marry Eunseo, to be interested in her, instead, he wanted to know everything about the woman that was in front of him, what made her happy and what were her fears so he could know what to do to make her the happiest woman in the world.

When he heard her laugh he couldn't hide his smile, he almost felt like the luckiest guy in the world just to be able to hear her laugh, he was sure it was one of the most precious sounds he has ever heard and wouldn't get tired of listening to it, but after that, she replied to his question "I guess it is, isn't that like every girl dream, to have their wedding and make it like a magic night? So having the perfect day there has to be a lot of planning behind it" he replied to the wedding planner.

Ji-Hoon got a little surprised when the wedding planner said she wanted to talk about something else than the finances of his wedding, she started mentioning how Eunseo wouldn't change her mind when she had something in her mind, but also how the wedding was supposed to be about the two people getting married, he felt thankful that someone was willing to listen to what he said instead of just accepting everything that Eunseo wanted "Well if I'm honest, I have never really thought about what I would want in my wedding, the idea of marriage really never crossed my mind after my par... after I realized that planning for the perfect time might never come. So, I'm kind of lost when it comes to knowing exactly what I want in a wedding, so let me think for a moment" He admitted embarrassed, trying to think what he really wanted to do, it felt weird having someone asking him what he wanted instead of everyone choosing for him or telling him what to do.

"Oh! When I was a student I went camping with my friends and I was fascinated by the night sky, the number of stars that you could see was just mesmerizing, you almost felt you could touch them, could there be a way to replicate that? Maybe, that's too cheesy." He said shyly "I would also like to have in some way orchids, those are the favorite flowers of my younger sister. I know you said that the wedding has to have things that I want, but knowing my parents and my sister, I know there's going to be some tension, so I just want her to be happy even if it's just seeing her favorite flowers. I'm probably just saying dumb stuff you are the expert here."

Chae Soyeon ( neon reverie neon reverie )

Han Woo-jin
CEO

The new attire alleviated some of Woo-jin’s initial anxieties about this trip. He was still nervous, but bolstered by new confidence. A tingling sensation crept up his spine, one that could almost be identified as some sort of… excitement? In his head, the scene of his ‘official’ arrival had already been played out; he imagined the amazed expressions of his colleagues when they witnessed their boss in a casual outfit, the thumbs up and applause that would follow after. Gone would the stiff image of him be, the Mr. Robot nickname being replaced with Mr Cool Boss. He would show them a new version of Woo-jin, present himself as someone they did not need to shy away from. A person they could joke with rather than joke about. Maybe improve his relations to a level above mere co-workers..? ( Soyeon always did say he needed to try and make more friends..)

Too wrapped around in his own mindscape, the CEO barely caught the words from his assistant. Speedily, he wired his attention back to reality as Hana’s voice carried a suggestion to get another assemble and some new shoes. He mulled over the proposition, hesitance striking him at first. Contrary to what others might believe, given the abundance in money, Woo-jin had never been one to spend his wealth freely. Critical of everything, including his spending, there was always an equation turning over in his head. The age-old battle between value versus price. On one hand, Woo-jin did not think purchasing another outfit would be necessary. Weren’t they leaving tomorrow? On the other hand, he believed that Hana would not make such a suggestion known unless it held significant importance to it. Woo-jin trusted her, cared about her advice ( maybe even more than he realized). A nigh audible sigh left his lips, the conclusion all too clear. “If you think it would be necessary, then I don’t have any objections.” He voiced, before nodding and slipping her his credit card to let her go and pay.

Standing awkwardly near the entrance, Woo-jin patiently waited for his assistant to finish paying. A soft ping! emerged from his pocket, alerting him to a message. His mind immediately travelled to his business, ready to see a message requesting his presence back in Seoul. It was not like he actually hoped for such a message to appear, but reality was that his level of occupation knew no rest. His responsibility as a boss always had to come first. Luckily, it was not the case this time. Instead, he stared down at a message from his closest friend.

Currently on a break! How is the field trip going? Have you tripped and fallen yet? Ha ha. Get it? Field trip?

Woo-jin’s eyebrows furrowed, uncertain what the correlation was between the word field trip and falling. Was this another attempt of a joke? If so, Jung-hwa sure had a strange sense of humour. Not very logical.

I don’t see what you mean with tripping and falling, but the field trip has not started yet for me. I am currently out with Miss Song to find myself a proper attire.

The dots on his screen were immediately moving, before a cryptic response was accorded.

Ohh, I see 😉 well have fun! But not too much 😉

Was Jung-hwa, perhaps, intoxicated? Woo-jin stared at his phone, utterly confused. His friend’s implications flew way above his head, the ceo being an absolutely dense when it came to reading between the lines. It was not the first time Jung-hwa was acting oddly whenever Woo-jin mentioned Hana, always acting like there was something he had knowledge over but he didn’t. He could only suspect it was all for comedy sake since his friend was just teeming of jokes – but there was also a vague curiosity. What did he mean? Feeling tempted to inquire about the wink emoji’s in the context of the message, Woo-jin began to type up a response. Though, before he could finish the question, his assistant reappeared.

Immediately, he abandoned his phone, shoving it back in his pocket. “Let me carry it.” He told her in assurance, and took hold of the bag with his old suit in her hands. He then waited for her to exit the store, knowing she was to lead the two towards the shoe store, before exiting himself. It was only a few steps further from the boutique, when a voice called out.

“Excuse me!”

He turned his head, eyes catching a couple approaching them, the girl with a shy smile on her face.

“Could you perhaps help us with taking a picture?” she asked while holding up her phone. “We can take one of you two as well if you’d like!”

Chae Soyeon
Wedding planner

Soyeon listened attentively to every word spilling from the groom’s lips, heartbeat thundering ever so quickly against her chest. Ashamedly, a fluttery feeling was summoned as soon as he mentioned that the idea of marriage had not really crossed his mind before. Did this mean that the current wedding in the planning was more so out of social obligation rather than the purposed love a couple was supposed to hold for each other? It was not implausible; they certainly would not be the first to be married due to pressure from family or other outside factors…. but why did that thought evoke a wave of relief? In any other case, she’d feel pity at most and remain neutral at best. It was almost like there was a delusional hope manifesting inside her – as if this small possibility somehow changed everything. As if she somehow had a chance…

Ugh, get your mind out of the gutter Soyeon.

The wedding planner almost physically reeled back from her own wandering imagination, the responsible and professional side of her delivering a mental slap to the head. Whatever this odd thing she felt was, it was spiralling way too far. Not only was she breaking a lot of work codes but her moral compass was definitely not in agreement with it either. Eunseo could very well be the one that killed her in a previous life, Soyeon still believed that you had to be the better person. This also extended to not thinking about someone’s fiancé while you were literally planning their wedding. She applied another imaginative slap to the face, hoping it would properly awaken her from this forbidden fantasy-like state of mind, and urged herself to keep the attention solely to the conversation.

Her lips curved into a smile as Ji-hoon began to talk a bit more about his life and elements he’d like to incorporate into the wedding. For some reason, it did not feel like she was purely collecting data for the wedding; there was this familiar sense about him as he spoke, creating a feeling as if they were just two strangers getting to know each other. Soyeon immediately shook her head after he defined these stuff as, probably, dumb. “Oh no, these are not dumb things at all!” she exclaimed, perhaps a little bit too loud. A faint blush blossomed her cheeks at her own volume and Soyeon cleared her throat. “I mean, I think it’s a wonderful thing to try and include bits of memories and favourite things of your family into the wedding.”

Soyeon grabbed the tablet, fingers moving against the screen as she swiped across multiple maps, before tapping on one. “ We could try and replicate a starry night across the ceiling during the reception with special lights, ‘’ she suggested,” it will look something like this.” Smiling brightly, she turned the table to let him view the picture. “ and we can put vases with orchids as the table centre pieces. I’m sure you it will look beautiful together.” Swiping right, she showed another picture with orchids as a centre piece.

“What do you think? And please let me know if you want to incorporate something else.. either to relive a happy memory or to relieve some tension between families.” The last sentence was more intended as a tease, though, Soyeon could not help but feel curious how big these tensions were and how they originated.

Hana wasn't sure if it was because of all the time she spent with Woo-Jin after all those years due to being his assistant, that she knew what the CEO was thinking even before he said it or how he felt even if he wasn't known for being a really expressive person, just by looking him and the shine on his eyes or how his confidence was slightly different as the usual one he showed in his usual attire, it was almost as if he was a child that just got a new toy and was excited to play with it, seeing the excitement of her boss was kind of adorable. Wait why did she just think that her boss was adorable? It was the same Woo-Jin that wouldn't accept any mistakes, not even the smallest, maybe the heat of Jeju was messing with her head.

Hana noticed the confused look on the face of the CEO when she suggested they should get another assemble, maybe what she thought it was common sense for Hana it wasn't really for Woo-Jin "Is better to be prepared in case an accident happens, we don't' really know if your clothes are going to get dirty, is better to prevent for this kind of cases, just as when you are working on a new deal, you always prevent for any scenario possible" She said adding the example of his work, maybe adding a scenario that he knew well would make it easier for him to understand the reason behind her reasoning, the guy only knew about his work so it was the best example.

She saw as the CEO made his way outside of the store, as she went to pay for the clothes, saying that Hana wasn't worried about leaving Woo-Jin alone was a lie, it was almost as if she didn't pay attention to him he just wandered on his own and he would get lost just like a little kid, Hana felt the cashier took ages for her to be able to pay for Woo-Jin's clothes "You have such a good taste for clothes, the outfit that you choose for him is really lovely it really suits him" the cashier said to Hana which only made her feel full of joy, was this the day of giving compliments to Hana, because it made her feel special for once.

Thankfully when she left the store, Woo-Jin was still standing in the same spot she saw him last time, she felt relieved that he wasn't lost, she was a little surprised when he said he would carry the bag with the clothes, she assumed this was just another of her works as an assistant, she almost felt reluctant to give the bag to him, it didn't felt right that the CEO carried his own clothes, but after a quick thought, she gave in tot eh words of her boss. "The shoe store is just as few stores away we will be there in just a couple of minutes" she reassured to her boss, but as she was about to start her way wi the store a voice of a girl was heard.

Wait, what was happening? Why the girl was asking for a photo and from all people in the world it had to be Woo-Jin, was this going to become a mess saying how he was a CEO and he shouldn't be doing that kind of stuff, and why was she offering that she would take a picture of them, is not like they were together, they were just boss and employee, as she took a glance at Woo-Jin she also was able to see her reflection in one of the windows of one of the stores and that's what reality hit her, What have she just did? The shade of blue of the pants and blazer and the striped shirt it was the same as the one she was wearing. Did she just put Woo-Jin on a matching outfit with her, without even realizing it? If this didn't get her fired she wasn't sure what it would be. Would Woo-Jin even know what couple outfits were?

"I'll take the picture!" the assistant said louder than she expected, but it was better than having Woo-Jin taking it, as she grabbed the phone of the girl "Okay, smile brightly." She said as she took the picture of the lovely couple hoping this would be over soon, but as she gave back the phone the girl insisted once again on taking a photo of them "You really don't have to" Hana said, but it seemed the girl wasn't taking a no from an answer "I insist! You two look so cute together!" The girl said happily, as Hana let out a deep sigh she gave her phone to the girl as she stood up next to Woo-Jin a quick photo wouldn't hurt anyone, right? "Why don't you put your arm around her, you two seem so far away from each other, get closer!" She said to Woo-Jin making Hana feeling that she was going to pass out at any minute, after a few minutes that it felt like a decade the picture was finally taken.

After that, the girl gave her phone back to Hana and said their goodbyes, Hana could feel her face being completely red what did just happened? Maybe not thinking too much about it would be better for both "Should we get going, if we take longer the rest of the people that are waiting for us are going to get impatient" she said embarrassed.

Ji-Hoon wasn't sure if anything that he was requesting even worked together, would Soyeon think that he didn't have any idea how weddings work? He was sure that's what she was thinking with his requests, that was the first time he felt that he was saying what he wanted thinking how much of the decisions made in his life was to make others happy. Especially his parents who wanted nothing that the best for him or at least what they thought was the best for him, so having someone being interested in his likings and what he wanted, it felt refreshing for once.

He was a little surprised when the wedding planner was excited over his two ideas, he was sure that she had heard better concepts for a wedding that a night sky and orchids, and for some reason, Soyeon was acting as if he just told her the greatest idea in the world, it made him feel more at ease and as if he wasn't embarrassing himself, maybe he was glad that Eunseo wasn't there at that moment.

He smiled when he saw the light blush on Soyeon's cheeks at that moment he thought it made her look more adorable than she already was. At that moment Ji-Hoon felt the need to be the only one to put a blush on Soyeon's cheeks, no he just didn't want to put a blush on her cheeks, he wanted to be the one that would make her smile as much as she could do until her cheeks hurt, just the thought of it warmed his heart like he hasn't felt before, but just as that fantasy with Soyeon started to show in his mind, reality came to hit him once again, he was getting married to Eunseo and Soyeon was just their wedding planner Get it together Ji-Hoon, you are here because you are engaged.

It didn't take long until Soyeon showed him some ideas of his requests, even if it was just a quick search it was almost as Soyeon knew exactly what he wanted "Those are wonderful ideas, I'm pretty sure that would be able to replicate that starry night that I saw that night and the centerpiece with the orchids just complements everything, I really like it a lot I'm not sure if it would fit with Eunseo's concept of our wedding, but I think it would be wonderful to have something like that" he said as he looked at the images that Soyeon showed him.

"I think we would need more than pretty flowers and lights to relieve some tension between my parents and sister but I guess that's how things go that way." He said jokingly "Please don't misunderstand is not like they hate each other they just don't really agree with the life choices that my sister did, they had these big plans for her, but in the end, she decided to follow her passion, out of the two she is the one that knows more all this aesthetic stuff than me. I wonder how her work trip is going, she said it was the first time her boss was going so she was kind of freaking out." He added realizing he was not talking about the wedding "Sorry I'm sure you are not interested in knowing about my sister and her boss, do you think this concept would work with the location Eunseo wants, but if I'm sincere I'm not really happy about it the place she wants, but let's keep that between us"
