After centuries of human improvement, the Goddess smiled upon us. She gifted humanity strength, beauty, immortality, all with a single bite.
Yet humans were not freely sharing such a gift among themselves ─ the lucky few, the Ancients, kept it dangling in front of the others.
Over years, centuries, a group of vampyrs grew and a group of humans stayed as nothing more than livestock.
Before long, the humans had forgot their alliance with the Goddess; they instead found Gods in the very creatures feeding on them.
They sought to join their ranks someday, to ascend, or stay in holy service of the vampyrs until their last breath.
The godly beasts and the desperate worshipers stayed in the same disturbing cycle until they forgot life used to be any other way.
Until the Goddess grew curious to know how her children were doing, and how they were using her gift.
She sends her trustworthy angels to spy upon the blessed lands of Sunfell and Vol Mirth as she did so long ago
They arrive with wide eyes and serene smiles to visit her children, goodness in their hearts.
The status quo, the endless cycle of blood, is about to be broken.
