Name: Aimi Minamoto, usually with the added honorific of "ojou-sama".

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Pansexual

Age: 22

Race: Neko

Abilities: The members of Aimi's clan are gifted with heightened senses and enhanced physical abilities, which include speed, strength, dexterity, and endurance superior to the average human or monster. As such, Aimi also possesses these powers. However, she prefers to use strategy and intellect over brawn to win fights.

Vices: Despite being a direct descendant, Aimi's abilities are lacking compared to others of the family. She makes up for this with her brilliant mind and strength of character. She can also be a bit rough when it comes to others' feelings.

Branch Affiliation: Aristocrat Branch Student

Personality: Born as a noble and surrounded by adoring subjects, Aimi grew up with the confidence of knowing her place in the world - and the self-assurance of knowing exactly how to get her way. Insatiably curious and with a rebellious streak a mile wide, Aimi is no stranger to trouble. Despite this, the neko truly cares for her land and her people, and she strives to become the finest ruler she knows she can be.

Familiar: For generations, Aimi's clan have kept and raised beaserkers as companions and guardians. Beaserkers are squirrel-like in stature, with a seemingly innocent and adorable appearance. Prominent features include oversized pointy ears, fluffy fur, and a mouthful of long, serrated teeth. Their cuteness belie a lethality, however; for if a beaserker's Master is ever in extreme danger, Berserk mode is activated. During this transformation, the creature's physical power is amplified and they grow into the size of a wolf. With the ferocity of a tiger, the speed of a cheetah, and the strength of a lion, these creatures will fight tooth and claw to protect their owners. The drawback to this form is that Berserk mode usually lasts for a few minutes at a time, with only the well trained beaserkers being able to hold the transformation up to fifteen minutes. On top of that, the transformation can only be used once a day.
Aimi has a strong, affectionate bond with her familiar, a Beaserker named Juni. With fluffy pink fur and round, dark eyes, Juni's adorable looks often attract unwitting strangers - that is, until he smiles with those long, sharp teeth of his.

Background: Aimi is the eldest daughter of the prestigious and ancient Minamoto clan. Although hostile toward humans, the elders granted Aimi's request to attend Visian Academy. They decided the benefits of learning underneath the Aristocratic branch outweighed the drawback of having human beings on the same campus - however, they did impose two conditions. First, that one of the family guardians accompany her; and second, that Aimi keep her distance from the disagreeable humans. Aimi quickly agreed, but being the curious and rebellious neko she is, Aimi wonders if the humans really are as vile as her family claims... and she has no intention of following those uptight rules.

Appearance:

Art by the very talented Rosuuri! Link to the original post:

Other: Aimi often finds herself asleep in strange places... and she can't resist a good bet.

The Nekomancer
Neko Messiah
NekoLover69
(AKA: Tac Yssup)

Gender
Male

Sexuality
Nekos? Necrophilia? Nekophilia

Age
25

Race
Nekomancer, duh
(Human)

Abilities
“Nekomancy”
As the very ability that gave The Nekomancer his title, this personified version of bringing back the dead has a few quirks to it. The first is that Tac can only use this magic on the dead, not living beings. The zombies he resurrects also still possess freedom of thought similar to when they were alive and don’t change physically (other than being, well, dead). Secondly, he must perform a daily ritual to keep his undead fresh or else they begin to rot. Lastly, and arguably most importantly, he can only revive nekos. If he attempts to revive anything else, he will become so disgusted in himself that he will end his own life, considering himself a sham to the Nekomancer name.

“Cat-like Reflexes”
What’s the point of a predator that can’t catch his prey? In the pursuit of his passion, Tac has acquired a higher echelon of acrobatic skills. High jumps, flips, cartwheels, and skipping rope are all essential to a man on the hunt. These assets have also been integrated into his fighting style, which incorporates the use of knives and magic. While agile, he is still human, and therefore stays within the realm of reason unless magically attuning himself beforehand.

“The Nekonomicon”
This is not only the scripture The Nekomancer worships but also the catalyst of his magic. While capable of casting lower-end spells on his own, this grimoire houses his strongest and most devious sorceries. Incantation circles that might take hours to create can be invoked instantly with the power of this cursed item. The Nekonomicon typically floats around Nekomancer when he is fighting and can be destroyed in battle.

“I’ve Got This Feline”
Gained over his life's work of hunting down and stalking nekos is his passive ability to tell when a neko is near his vicinity. Almost like a personal radar, Nekomancer can utilize all of his senses to find a neko, depending on how far away they are. The area of effect, luckily for him, spans about as large as a single campus. This is only usable on nekos.

Vices
I’m a sociopath. What more do you need?

Branch Affiliation
Scholar Branch’s Professor of Dark Arts
Aristocrat Branch Student

Personality
Nekomancer isn’t just a fool that obsesses over cats. No, this lunatic has the traits and devotion of any other person who dabbles in the dark arts. The only difference between himself and those other lame and edgy failures is his refined “tastes”. Nekomancer, formerly known as Tac, loves nekos. His devotion for them is to a degree that goes far beyond simple admiration and reaches a whole new level; a level that involves the consideration of murdering his beloved nekos and reviving them, ultimately preserving them for all eternity. He is considered a genius for his contributions towards the understanding of biological development and the anatomy of various creatures at a young age, but the origins of where his love for nekos began is unknown. He will go to great lengths to continue his work, having no mercy for any who try to stop him from doing so.

Of course, this also means that anything that isn’t about the subject he is interested in tends to bore him. If someone isn’t as passionate and neurotic about nekos as he is, Nekomancer tends to shoo them away or ignore them completely. Tac has no compassion for anything or anyone that isn’t directly or partially related to his fantastic felines and will typically act in some type of behavior in order to make this obvious. This includes, but is not limited to vulgar language, refusal to revive, snarky responses, distrustful glares, nagging, spitting, crude humor, attempting to convert to the Neko Nation, complete rejection, physical violence, attempted murder, long and boring speeches of how amazing nekos are, name-calling, fleeing, or a simple conversation.

Background
The infamous Nekomancer wasn’t always the lunatic that he is today. Born into a family that was neither rich nor poor, he had a basic life given to him as a human child. His parents weren’t anything special, having simple jobs and staying within the kingdom’s good side. What was unique about their family was their son, Tac Yssup. Identified as a magical prodigy by the age of seven, Tac had mastered the key components of magic. A few years later, the boy was able to create spells never seen before, conceived by his genius. Soon after, it became obvious that the standard magic of the land was no longer of interest to him. It was around this time that Tac began to practice what we call the “Dark Arts”.

Slowly, over time, his tastes became very peculiar, the target of his magic typically being that of stray cats or the neighborhood children. It’s unknown exactly when or why it happened, but those interests gradually grew into an obsession for a non-human race called “nekos”. He proclaimed himself to be the Neko Messiah under the tutelage of his god, Kah’Nyan. Whether his mind had degraded from the necromancy he was performing or if he had always been that way is a debate that scholars still ponder. His exile from Alenia came at the age of twelve, where he was charged with the assault of a noble and giving aid to a non-human. From there, he survived in Alenia’s wilderness, the incident never brought up again.

Until now, that is. Requested to be among the ranks of professors at Visian Academy by the “all-powerful Admiral”, Tac had little room to refuse. In exchange for permission to enter the kingdom’s walls and be near his beloved nekos once again, he is now under surveillance. They have warned him of the consequences of misconduct, but Nekomancer was never the type to listen. Now spending his days happily searching for his next vic- partner, The Nekomancer walks the halls of his fellow students, ready to, uh, learn, or something like that.

Name
Rosalina Solaire

Gender
Female

Sexuality
How bold.
(Bisexual)

Age
23

Race
Werebear

Abilities
“Teddy Transformation!”
The blood of a fierce grizzly tribe runs through Rosalina’s veins. Sadly, that bloodline is possibly five times removed and has little impact on her. Her ability to change her humanoid form, while impressive, isn’t much in the power department. Rosalina can turn into a small cub that makes it easier for her to run away. That’s about it.

“Quiet in the Library”
Through the help of the Principal’s magic, Rosalina’s soul was intertwined with Visian Academy’s library. Becoming an extension of her body, everything within the walls of the library is hers to control. The books, shelves, all of it is her domain, moving to her will similar to a person’s limbs. While inside the library, she is nigh-invincible, the very physics of the place bending to her mind. Outside of the library, she is a normal werebear and can’t be away from it for longer than a few hours without risk to her life. If the library is attacked and she is not prepared for it, she feels the pain as if she were being hit directly. If something is taken out of the library, such as a book, then it becomes a normal item until returned.

“The Living Index”
Possessing an eidetic memory since birth, this photographic recollection allows her to carry out the duty of a librarian effectively. Remembering everything she’s ever seen, she can recite an entire book to someone without hesitation. This is also the root of her trauma, forced to relive her past constantly.

Vices
Socially inept
Bookworm
Aloof

Branch Affiliation
Librarian
Temp. Aristocrat Branch History Professor

Personality
An awkward person in general, Rosalina has trouble connecting to the feelings of others. Unless she is told directly of a person’s emotions, much like in her books, she will likely step on the toes of those she interacts with. Not only this, but Rosalina is also the type to not mince her words, pointing out flaws in people without hesitation. This leads to misunderstandings that she, herself, is unaware of. Asking riddles is her way of understanding a person based on their answer, right or wrong.

The love she has for her sisters and the Principal is limitless. Feeling indebted to him for giving her a new life, Rosalina tries her best to gain praise from the former admiral, even going so far as to offer her services as a temporary professor, despite her insecurities with new people. When pushed for conversation, the werebear tends to retreat further into her books, never wanting dialogue to last beyond a few exchanged words. Her view of the current world is mediocre at best, believing that without humans, happiness could eventually be obtained. As for now, she refuses to look at it directly. Why look up at the dismay around you when you can experience countless lives of wonder reading books?

Background
Raised in a wartorn village with her younger sisters, Zinnia and Hyacinth, Rosalina was exposed to the blight of man since she can remember. Their parents had been taken from them and sold as laborers early on in her life, leaving the eldest to care for her siblings alone. Every day was spent as her last, the risk of execution or capture always at her heels. As soon as her sisters became capable of caring for themselves, Rosalina reverted to a state of solitude, unwilling to leave their home and spending her days thinking to herself. Eventually, there came a point where she was unable to speak with her sisters, believing the two incapable of understanding the horrors she was faced to witness, driving a wedge between them.

The fateful encounter with the Principal is what saved the trio from their broken lifestyle. Providing them with shelter and a steady flow of food, he promised the children that their suffering had come to an end. By giving her a book, her very first possession, the Principal spent years teaching Rosalina of worlds much happier than their own; of hope. Although she believed that her future was already stolen by her past, she knew the same was not true for her sisters. Begging the master magician for the power to protect the smiles of her family, she agreed to tether her soul into that of a safe haven, knowing that by doing so, she was sealing her fate. He implored her to reconsider, but her mind was made up. She no longer had the opportunity to experience the same world that she promised to Zinnia and Hyacinth. Now, she works as Visian Academy’s librarian, patiently waiting for the happy ending that the Principal spoke of so many times before.

Name:
Aetil, nicknamed “Skarm” or anything else the dark arts teacher chooses to call him.

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
Heterosexual/borderline asexual

Age:
20

Race:
Devil, like the summoned from hell kind of devil

Abilities:

Hellspawn-
Aetil passively gives off an aura of his native plane of existence, making him very detectable to those with close ties to the planes or celestial beings. Due to his nature Aetil also has no need for sleep, but may take the occasional nap when the opportunity arises.

Fiendish Vigor- Aetil has inherent resistances to certain types of harm, primarily elemental damage sources. Fire most notably, followed by Cold and Lightning. Minor physical injuries such as sprains, bruises, scratches, etc also take much more force than normal to form. This resilience does not come freely however, with damage caused by silvered or blessed weapons and magics that transcend the body (light, dark, and pure arcane force) being particularly potent against him.

Infernal Arms and Armaments- Having been summoned directly from the 732nd division of the demonic legion, Aetil has already spent a large amount of time training and practicing with a wide variety of weapons and armor. In addition Aetil can perform a short ritual to summon a Soul-Fire weapon from his personal arsenal. These weapons have the unique property of partially ignoring the conventional means of physical protection a creature could possess (armor, shields, natural resistance) to directly harm a creatures spirit. The amount is affected by the strength of the creature/material, growing more effective against weaker opponents.

An alternative to the ritual is an instantaneous summoning, however this randomizes what kind of weapon is summoned. The range of weaponry varies from the common pair of daggers to a two handed chain-sword and beyond. In normal situations this is something he can use at will, no restrictions added, however this is certainly no normal situation. Instead he can summon up to four weapons in a day before having to recuperate the uses by performing a much longer ritual to collect the energy required for each use. Once a weapon is summoned its form cannot be changed, they have a fixed duration of one hour before another use is required, and can be temporarily shunted away or re-summoned to his hand instantaneously.
1 A demon chicken... don’t ask
2 A giant boomerang
3 A set of daggers
4 Dual short swords
5 A lance
6 A set of javelins
7 A pair of throw-able battle axes
8 A two-handed axe
9 A great maul
10 A spiked shield
11 A chain with hooks on each end
12 A chain sword
13 A longbow
14 A rapier+sword breaker
15 A Two-handed Bastard sword
16 A double-bladed scimitar
17 A pitchfork
18 A spear+shield
19 A war scythe
20 A halberd

Break the Chains- After being summoned from the hells, Aetil’s true form was restrained as a part of the ritual that binds him to this plane of existence. This form stands at double his normal height with increased physical prowess and a pair of wings meant for jumping and gliding. Having spent some time studying the ritual has gradually allowed him limited access to it again, however going against the spells power does come at a high cost. He is restricted to only 10 minutes in the form, with time being reduced as he sustains damage. After this duration ends the spells restraints fully affect him again, immediately draining a fifth of his vitality along with doubling the amount of energy lost from any activity for the rest of the day. Using this without a complete day of rest halves the effective duration and doubling the downsides, compounding if continued attempts to transform are made.

Vices:
Expects the worst from everyone
Seems to barely listen to others besides figures of authority
Doesn’t take many things seriously
Angels, just in general

Branch Affiliation:
Soldier, 'student'

Personality:
Walks like a devil, talks like a devil, looks like a devil, they must be an evil devil right? Well... not entirely.
Of course Aetil is calculating, selfish, stern, and completely aloof. However he doesn’t actively look to start any kind of trouble, preferring to take in a situation fully before jumping headlong into a fight. Trying to read any kind of emotion from him can be difficult at the best of times, with most people having an easier time telling how a brick wall is feeling compared to him.

To him this academy is more of a vacation than anything else, a chance to take a breather without completely slacking off during his time out of hell. He still enjoys the simple things in life, and outwardly couldn’t care less about the rest of his 'classmates'. That doesn’t mean he is completely ignorant to what they do around him, he spends his time observing how they act and fight, and has no qualms with taking advantage of another’s weakness in any kind of confrontation.

Appearance:
Skarm.png
2640521-dota2_tb01.png

Extra Appearance:

Aetil stands at 6’0 tall and 235 lbs with a well toned physique from constant fighting with other devils. When bare both of his forearms are noticeably scarred over with uncountable small marks, as if something was raked across them and allowed to heal before repeating the process ad-infinitum.

Background:
(TLDR will expand later maybe)
Aetil was a part of the greater demonic legion, and after a (partially) successful summoning ritual by the Dark Arts teacher Tac Yssup ended up on this plane of existence. A part of this ritual prevents him from returning to his native plane, and he was given the choice of attending the academy or being killed. Naturally he chose to take this deal and spend time in the academies program.

Familiar:
A Russian Blue feline familiar assigned to monitor him by Tac, doesn’t acknowledge its existence in public, calls it Mr. Mephistopheles.

Extra:
Aetil's favorite color is gold.

Name:
Eternal Darkness (otherwise known as Ed)

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
All

Age (18+):
18

Race:
Human

Abilities (Include limitations):
He can see and feel the intentions and opinions of people around him, allowing him to note who likes what or hates who. However, he rarely cares for any negative opinion and undermines it.

Once he's felt an object, Ed can summon its last location into his mind and body, however, he can use this ability only once a day, and he goes blind for a few hours. This also works for any person he's touched. However, should they move, he'll only remember their last location when he last used his ability.

He can phase through inanimate objects at will unless a person is looking at him, if seen while he's phasing, he won't die but will be stuck (such as in a wall) or it will be stuck in him (such as a scroll or something). Anything he's wearing or anybody who's touching his skin also gains this ability (as long as they don't look at him).

Vices:
Ignores the evil and bad in people and monsters alike, no matter the horrendous acts they've committed or rotten things they've said to a fault.
A bit too trusting at all times.
Anyone attractive.
Physical activities and tasks.
Heavy mental tasks/ studying.
Expectations.
Emotions.

Branch Affiliation:
Aristocrat: Student.

Personality:
Ed is an unimpressive, shockingly below the average boy whose sense of morality carries him through the darkest pits of the world like a shining light of stupidity. An eye for justice and tenderhearted, he wants to see all the discrimination and division end. However, being the inept weakling he is, he's too gullible, selfless, and innocent for his own good. Even worse, he can't shake the desire for love, and believes every girl is the one for him. A shame as he is terrible at being social.

Background (opt):
The son of Ellen and Drake, two bakers, and the younger twin brother of Tim.

"Knowledge is knowledge - it is neither good nor evil."
Dubloit Family

Basic

Name: Erika Dubloit

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Biromantic Asexual

Age: 20

Race: Poltergeist Spirit [Former Human]

Branch Affiliation: Mage, Student
Physiological/Psychological

Vices: What's a moral compass in the face of knowledge?

Personality: For the most part, Erika exudes a friendly aura. She's often seen with a kind smile and is open to friendly talks with anyone. She is open to making many acquaintances and friends, though she may come across as arrogant or even prideful due to her confidence in her abilities. She's also not one for caring for other people's opinions on her - especially with her circumstances. Deterring her from something she wants to do is difficult, proving to be a stubborn adversity once she gets her mind set on something.

Due to certain circumstances of her past, she's become a little bit more withdrawn, her opinions starting to lessen and her observation skills improving. If she's alone and hasn't buried herself in a book, she's often simply observing the people around her. She isn't one to act on impulse, often weighing every possibility and try to choose the best route of action with the information given. While she can adapt to chaotic situations, unpredictability can often throw her off her rhythm, leaving her a little bit flustered.

However, Erika, like the rest of her family, seeks knowledge like it's her staple food. She is willing to go to extreme lengths to be able to continue her studies. Often described as ruthless, while she may not physically threaten anyone, she is willing to befriend someone out for the sake seeking knowledge. This comes off as manipulative in a way, but oftentimes, Erika becomes genuinely invested in such friendships or acquaintanceships. Any forms of knowledge is of equal value to her, but her true goal lies with the dark arts. Despite it's negative connotations to the world, she is an active practitioner of it.
Backstory

Background: The Dubloit family consists of generations upon generations of skilled mages and researchers of different branches. Many people believe that they're more sensitive to magic, more closely tied to it as any child from the family seems to have a natural affinity in learning magic. Some may even call them a prestigious family and they're well known among the magical community for several breakthroughs throughout the centuries. But the family never stops - their hunger for knowledge is unending and they continue to strive forward. They leave no stones unturned in magical knowledge and they've gotten infamy for their research into the "dark arts". While many believe it to be evil, the Dubloit family only sees it as more knowledge to uncover.

They've also garnered a bit of negative backlash from majority of the other human houses due to their relatively tame treatment of the non-humans that are under their employment. After all, all the non-humans that they take in are skilled in magic in some way. As long as they manage to give results, the family gives them housing and food. This seems to irk many other noble houses, but the Dubloit family never folds under the pressure of others if it's for the sake of research.

Erika's brain works just like her family's. At a very young age, she was exposed to spiritual magic - tapping into the realm of those who have died. This had fascinated her and sparked the signature Dubloit curiosity. She studied relentlessly for it but her parents and siblings made sure she can tear herself away to give way for social gatherings and the likes. They honed both her social skills and her learning skills. But Erika was nothing different from the rest of her family. She was no precious prodigy and everything she had achieved was only through hard work and perseverance, with only a little credit to natural talent. The true prodigy of their generation lies on her older sister's shoulders. Erika and the rest of the siblings do what they can to support her studies but they can only follow her so far before lagging behind. Nevertheless, they share a strong bond that cannot be broken.

It was at one faithful day when she was eighteen that her accident happened. As she was experimenting with a theoretical spirit summoning circle, it backfired. The entire room was bathed in bright light and the next thing Erika knew, she had left her mortal body. Or her mortal body had completely disappeared after the ceremony. After some discussions within her family, they decided they really didn't care much for what had happened and let her continue her studies. Unfortunately, with the accident came her decreased ability in performing advanced forms of magic. While she can still make magical rituals and runes, performing them herself seems is difficult, if not near impossible.

Ever since then, she had her younger brother as an assistant to her research. Thankfully he didn't complain much as he was only there to cast spells and perform rituals. Erika has been locked inside the manor ever since her turning due to the negative response of the humans in the community. It was something that seemed to spark Erika's interest in the subject - racial oppression. It was something she grew up seeing, but viewing it from such a privileged mindset dulled its importance. Now that she had experienced it herself - forcing her to send her siblings or human maids to buy her ingredients and books due to multiple shops turning her away - she began to look deeper into it.

When the treaty was signed and Visian Academy was established, her parents did not hesitate to send her there. It was a school brimming with knowledge and it would be a shame to pass the opportunity by.
Abilities

Abilities:

"Telekinesis"

One of the magical abilities she had acquired when she turned, Erika has the ability to control objects without physically touching them. Fine control of said objects is relatively more difficult and requires more concentration. Through training, Erika has been able to lift many objects at the same time with relative ease, but she starts to struggle when she's trying to lift objects three times heavier than herself. She is still trying to fine tune this ability.

Limitations: The force she can exert upon the things she carries are proportionate to her strength. While she can throw a book in a direction of choosing, she would only be able to do it with the force of an arm throw unless she uses another object to propel it. She is currently unable to finely control objects using telekinesis so writing is still impossible for her. While she can theoretically lift other people, exerting force upon them directly requires great magical energy to the natural magical and physical resistance someone has.

"Can't touch this"

She's able to turn herself tangible and intangible at will. While she is intangible, she can pass through objects and even other living beings - often causing a brief disorienting vertigo upon the living being. Magic, however, can still target her in this state and barriers can prevent her from passing through unhindered.

"Ghost Fire"

Recently, Erika has been able to summon blue, magical fire. She's discovered she has limited pyrokinetic abilities. As this was very recent, she isn't really able to do much with it aside from summoning balls of fire for light.

"Flight"

Currently only accessible when she is in her intangible state, she's able to traverse through the air as if it were land.

"Magical Sensitivity"

Like most members of the Dubloit family, Erika has a natural, intimate sensitivity to magic. To them, their senses have been designed to be acutely aware of the presence of magic - when or if it's being cast, it's general location and the likes. She can sense magic like an aura. This is why they're able to closely study different types of magic even if they are unfamiliar.

Familiar:

images

Kaida is a silver fox who Erika had summoned at a young age. He hasn't shown much in the ways of abilities aside from being an expert in hunting down very minute magical traces before. However, after the incident, he turned into a spirit much like his master. He has a much more limited control on telekinesis and is permanently intangible but is perfectly capable of flight. However the main ability that he has is being able to summon and control fire. During these times, his eyes and the lantern-like object on his neck glow a fiery orange.

    Personality: TBR

Background (opt): Very little is known about him apart from being a war hero. Those who are particularly intrigued and have the ability to do a great deal of research or talk to some of the few in the kingdom in the know will be able to find out a little more about him.

Name:
Kannah Syllis

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
Up in the air

Age (18+):
18

Race:
Human

Abilities (Include limitations):
Kannah has the ability to project crystals from her body for a short period of time (usually 3-5 seconds). The more time she's given to prepare the crystals, the thicker they can manifest, up to a maximum thickness of approximately 6". Practical applications include creating protective coatings in combat to deflect blows, or using them offensively to create puncturing tools on her extremities. They can also be extended rapidly from the body to help maneuver (jumping, etc). The crystals are rather fragile, and when shattered multiple times within a short period, become increasingly difficult to reform. Several breaks in quick succession can result in being unable to form additional crystals until a long period has been spent resting.

Vices:
A bit naive, Kannah is quick to believe everyone holds the best of intentions for her and those around her. She trusts easily, often even when she's been given good reasons to distrust, and avoids conflict whenever feasible, usually through attempts at humor and friendship. In a world with such a rift between its people, this does make her an easy target for those non-humans that feel they have a bone to pick with her kind.

Branch Affiliation:
Aristocrat

Personality:
Coming from a fairly well-off family, never having wanted for anything, many would assume Kannah to be snobbish, and look down upon non-humans as most of her station tend to. She's certainly one of the more privileged students at Visian Academy, but these assumptions couldn't be further from the truth. Kannah's an extremely inquisitive, compassionate young woman, who's come to Visian Academy in the pursuit of knowledge. She's quick to laugh and smile, and slow to anger; quick to defend those she cares about, and befriend those she's yet to meet; she believes smiles are contagious and does her best to share them even when she's feeling a bit blue. She does, however, have some difficulty opening up to others when something's troubling her, instead preferring to redirect the topic to something more cheerful.

Unlike many of the other humans in attendance, Kannah specifically requested enrollment at Visian Academy for the opportunity to live and learn alongside the various races of the kingdom of Alenia, seeking to experience all their quirks firsthand. Though her parents were at first opposed, they begrudgingly granted her request.

Kannah thrives in social situations, and will go out of her way to try to engage with others, especially if she notices they're being excluded.

Background (opt):
The Syllis family is a fairly new addition to the nobility of Alenia, thought not one of particular renown. TBRP.

Appearance/Pic (Anime/digital art preferred):
Kannah stands at just 5'2" with a very slight frame. She has a dark chocolate-colored, shoulder-length hair, pale skin, and wide, bright hazel eyes.DrtVHH8U0AAQiua.jpg
Other (Any other info we should know?):
Favorite color is a rich, chocolate-brown

Hope this works alright. Let me know if there's anything that should be changed, or any recommendations for improvements!

Name:
Aiden Luna

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
Lesbian but for a few pretty dudes. Good luck.

Age (18+): 20

Race: Human

Ion Begone:
Within thirty feet, Aiden can lift, throw, and move anything metallic under the weight of 500 lbs. She can only lift two things at a time, using each of her hands. This leaves her vulnerable up close during this as it preoccupies her hands. If hit by anything, her concentration is broken as she drops whatever she was moving. She can move while using the power. Anything under ten pounds can be thrown or pulled to her at speeds around 50 mph. 11-50 pounds: 30 mph. 50-100 lbs 15 mph, and anything 101+ is 10 mph

A trained Human:
Having grown up a well-taught fighter and soldier, Aiden is immensely skilled in the art of combat and has uniquely quick reaction time within a fight.

2:
Within thirty feet, Aiden has nearly perfect precision and can nail a wafting leaf with a pencil with some focus. Further out, this power drops off linearly until it's human level at around sixty feet. However, none of these guarantees successful hits; She is human, after all.

Vices:
Intimate relationships
Relationships, actually
Attachment
Anything to deal with being a principled person with healthy relationships, really
Pride
Positive emotions.
Being healthy

Branch Affiliation:
Solider: Student

Personality:
Brash. Headstrong. Prideful. Arrogant. You could fill out a negative trait vocabulary with the person she presents herself as. Troubled in all the wrong ways, Aiden's combat prowess meets her ingrained etiquette and self-worth, propelling her into a mind of superiority. She meets anything that combats the position she holds in her mind with hostility. Anything so fragile is meant to be protected. Though, nothing quite stops her tongue. Despite it, she is still often wonky, and socializing with anyone close to her age is something she has limited experience. And God forbid, she comes across any genuine souls. Against the chaos, she is a woman who practices things such as prayer and meditation, and in searching for this peace, she searches for any God out there and any bit of humanity left within her, but she remains alone outside and in.

Aiden is the youngest child and only daughter of a rich baron and his family of four. Her father's title kept her in a life of luxury and etiquettes from a young age, as they owned their own isolated village that ran powerful in its trade of non-human slaves and the training of soldiers. In particular, much of this was owed to the leader of the town's militia: a woman who went by the name of Alondra Lily. This woman represented everything a woman wasn't allowed to be and broke the mold of what was expected. Vulgar. Rude. Could handle a blade better than a swordsman, and a spell better than any fancy mage. Worst yet, she bought and used adolescent girls worse than any other man. Inexplicably young and naïve, Aiden took a liking to the powerful woman. The Baron feared Alondra Lily, and once she had convinced Aiden of her "destiny" to become a better soldier and leader than anyone before, there was little the Baron could do to stop their relationship from blooming. Aiden began her training under Alondra at the age of eight with simple stuff such as cleaning weapons and scouring through endless amounts of books on the subject of war. It was by 13, Aiden had entered a different type of relationship with Alondra... Everyone knew, but no one dares to mention the relationship out of fear of evoking the wrath of their militia leader. Aiden didn't know better, all she believed was that she was in love. Despite Alondra's hard exterior, the woman understood romance and how many people craved it. Aiden was lost, and Alondra guided her well. She taught Aiden to be ruthlessly determined and to forgo any other personal relationship as they would only serve as a distraction.

Though, despite all of Alondra's attempts, she couldn't keep away Aiden's older brother, Damon. A soft soul, a humanist, and activist for non-human rights. He represented all the good possible in a soul, and often stood alone against the Baron and against Alondra. In the face of overwhelming force, his philosophy remained, and he forever rebelled. He was an outcast and nearly disowned for this, but he was unrelenting. Aiden never quite understood why. As far as she was aware, non-humans were monsters and beasts without the same souls that made up man and woman. They were animals, vicious ones, that were tamed for their usage. They're beneath man for a reason.
Despite his weakness in the face of Alondra and the bowing to her will, the Baron made an oath to himself and to his wife that he would save Aiden somehow from becoming a woman like Alondra. During one of his prayers, his wish would find a possibility. Visian Academy. Upon further news, the Baron became immensely interested and requested his daughter's presence in a hurry. She entered with Alondra in tow, as was always the case. He told of his plan to send Aiden away and ushered her to prepare immediately. Aiden spoke against it, saying it would be against her destiny, but Alondra's glare wouldn't stop him now. It became an order, and to ease his daughter, he allowed her one more military mission.

Alondra left without a word. She had quite the mission to plan. It had been a shame, for Aiden had become a promising leader, and Alondra had ensured to tell Aiden this as they rode towards their destination. However, suddenly, with little warning, the woman known as Alondra cracked, and a defeated sigh left her lips. The next words shocked Aiden even; they were encouragement and support for her boarding at Visian. This would be the last proper conversation Aiden would have with anyone from her life.

Aiden led her final mission on her own while Alondra supposedly had business to attend. Yet, what would have been a simple clearing of a modest bandit turned into a disaster. The information fed to Aiden had been false, and the bandit camp they had gone to clear was nowhere to be found. This excited some panic in Aiden, but it hadn't been the first time they were fed false information. It only appeared that the camp had moved. Then Aiden returned home.
Ashes. Smoke. Flames burning without control. It had been too late, and the last remnants of Slaves and militia fought while the bodies of bandits and marauders painted the cobblestone streets. Aiden made her way to the town center to find nothing but death. The blacksmith. The bakers. The farmers. Traders. Everyone perished.
Aiden eventually found a wounded Alondra smoking a pipe, a habit from her home country supposedly. Alondra could barely speak, and she coughed out her words of hope for Aiden to follow her path and to go check the Baron's house. With her last words, Alondra reminded Aiden of the evils of the world and to avoid becoming a victim to it. Kindness, selflessness, and all such things were a weakness.
Aiden found her family's house trashed, and after killing a few snake people, Aiden saw the corpses of her family. Damon had been in his study, writing into a tome when they attacked... Aiden led the last of the militia to the corralling and killing of every non-human within the town, and once the fires had died down. Aiden packed her stuff, her brother's tome, her hollowed soul, and made her way to Visian Academy.

Name: Shiori

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Pansexual, Demisexual

Age (18+): 20

Race: Fox Demon

Abilities (Include limitations):
A Fox in the Night.
Shiori has night eyesight and enhanced senses! His sense of smell and hearing are the best as a fox demon. His enhanced senses provide a way to be over sensitive to smell and sound, so he can get overwhelmed by such things. His nails are also sharp claws, and he isn't beneath using them, especially on people who annoy him.

Burn in Hell.
Indigo with swirling black, they are fox fires he can control. Fox Fires are typically spirits who cannot move on and usually intend to cause harm. They talk and have their own personalities, though they disappear when their task is complete. He can use them to burn things or even send them out to do things like deliver messages or find someone. Relying on his magic and tricks has left him a bit physically weaker, so brute strength is not his thing, though he is not that weak. He can easily carry some heavy items and people easily but he wouldn't be able to rip a large tree from the ground or anything.

The Trickster.
As with most kitsune lore, he can use his magic to shapeshift himself and objects. Though it often does not last long on objects unless he is focused without interruption, it usually lasts long enough for him to escape a situation though. Shapeshifting himself is easy and can do it as long as he wants.

Vices: Aloof and a bit Anti-Social. Maybe a little lazy unless motivated. Tends to take things without permission or paying for it >.>

Branch Affiliation: Mage, Student, Familiar

Personality: Typically very aloof and bored looking, he can appear cold and this makes it hard for others to approach him. While he may seem cold to people he does not trust, he is not outright hostile, he just tries to avoid what he can. Composed and analytical, Shiori is quiet but is not afraid to speak his mind. He is pretty blunt and a bit sarcastic and has a dry and dark sense of humor - though most people cannot tell when he may be joking because he says it so seriously. He distrusts most people, and very few have managed to earn some form of respect and friendship from him. While he appears cold, he does genuinely care for his friends and notices even small changes in behavior. He will try hard for his friends and is hard working when he wants to be. Being something of a trickster with his cunning, he accidentally causes trouble for his friend sometimes, or purposefully, who knows?
Being apathetic as he is, he is lazy unless motivated - usually by food or because he is bored and is seeking entertainment. Sometimes being bored means chaos: he is a trickster after all. He may play tricks to confuse or start stuff between others.

Background (opt): He was rather young when he was abandoned by his parents. He does not know why they left him. He stole to survive as a child in the slums, often using his magic to escape sticky situations and trick merchants. This has led to his habit of just taking things like apples without paying- and with a practiced skill that they usually do not notice until he is already gone. Though he does have consideration and only takes what he needs for food usually. He may take some money or something he finds interesting (especially as a child).
In his early teens, he was caught by a merchant he was stealing from and was nearly beat to death. Though a girl with a fan saved him by beating the merchant instead. Saren saved him and took him in- leading to an odd friendship and partnership where the fox demon has become her familiar in a way.

Theme Song:

Appearance/Pic : Note: he only has one tail, not many.

Familiar: He is sort of a familiar to Saren Voltus!

Other: He has a temari ball he treasures and likes to toss up and down in his palm. He may throw it at Saren’s head from time to time when he thinks she is too wound up.

My sword is hatred. My shield is disgust. My armor is contempt. In the name of Alenia, I pledge to purify- The Order Knight Oath

Name: Katarn Ordai

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Age: 25

Race: Human

Backstory: Hailing from the far borders of Alenia, Katarn is no stranger to violence. Born into a small barbarian tribe, his family eaked out a meager living, his father trading hides and pelts while his mother read bogus fortunes for the Alenian noblewoman. This safe, if relatively poor life was shattered when a raiding party of Gnolls attacked. Virtually everyone in the tribe was killed, excluding a few lucky souls who were saved by the arrival of the order Katarn would soon find himself a member.

The Order of the Broken Chalice.

With his clan shattered and his parents dead, Katarn was thirsting for revenge. So when the opportunity came to serve under their tutelage, he and his younger brother jumped at the opportunity. Over the years he and his sibling were honed into deadly tools. They became Knights of the Broken Chalice. And as their skill grew so too did their hatred of the non-human. Katarn spent months training for the assignment, learning to carefully mask his loathing of the monster, of the inhumane.

All in preparation.

All for Vision Academy.

The Order would see these monsters casted back to their previous positions, perhaps even lower. If the Kingdoms borders must shrink, so be it. At least Alenia would be free from this inhuman taint at last.

Vices: Nonhumans. His hatred of them is only seconded by his love for Alenia. Opening up to anyone, or indeed any form of genuine social interaction is impossible. For obvious reasons.

Personality: Outwardly relatively open and friendly, though most, if not, all of this, is an act. Inside, he is simmering with rage at being forced to spend so much of his time in such close proximity with monsters.

Abilities:

Armor of Sullest: Not true armor, but rather an incredibly intrinsic and complicated pattern of tattoos covering most of his chest and back. A new trend amongst many in the Order, though it is also frowned upon due to some of its adverse effects. The pattern of runes renders the user virtually untouchable from most forms of magic. It has its limits, however. Telekinetically thrown objects are still perfectly able to harm him, and it is possible to indirectly hurt him with magic as well. (A summoned firebolt, if its properties are just basic fire, will still be able to harm him perfectly fine) But the true reason why this isn't more widespread is that it renders healing spells and other beneficial magical spells totally useless, a potentially fatal flaw on the field of combat. Potions and elixirs still have an effect, if at a decreased rate. Nearly half, by some estimates. In addition, any magical artifacts used are effected as well, their effects simply not manifesting.

Master Combatant: Katarn is a skilled melee fighter, his style revolving around brutal and methodical strikes with occasional bursts of aggression to overwhelm his opponent. His method of fighting is devoid of much flair, as he views it as a waste of energy.

Runic Adept: Katarn has some experience in rune magic, capable of creating somewhat basic spells. (Ex: when I throw this carved rune, explode)

Mask of Friendliness: Katarn underwent numerous classes in espionage and subterfuge. He is able to fool all but the most perceptive to his true goal.

Winters Bite: Katarns personal sword. Crafted by a master artisan of the Broken Chalice, it is enscribed with the names of his former clanmates who died fighting the gnoll raiding party.

Signe: His intricately decorated spear, seven feet long and with war trophies decorated all along its length. The more gruesome ones were removed before his transferance to the academy, as to not arouse suspicion.

Sten Randi: An incredibly tough shield, capable of withstanding damage others would buckle and break from due to the high quality of materials used.

Bulwark: His personal suit of armor. Forged from the highest possible quality metals, it is similar to his shield in that it is incredibly difficult to break through mundane means.

Appearance: Katarn stands a little over six feet tall, with green eyes. A particularly large scar runs over his jaw, where a feral werewolf had managed to get its claws in him. Most of the time seen in a plain commoners tunic when not in combat.

Branch Affiliation: Soldier, Student

Familiar: None

Favorite Color: Red, he always found the crimson color of the Broken Chalices banners endearing.

Other: Katarn loathes Gnolls in particular, due to them raiding his clan when he was young.

Hopefully didn't miss anything

Name:
Lia Daejun

Sexuality:
Straight
(though has never sought out a relationship)
Age:
24

Gender: Female

Race:
Human

Abilities:
Lia can generate and control electricity from any part of their body. She can use this electrical power to charge her weapons, power objects, and even blast her opponents with electrical energy. However, Overuse of her ability can make her extremely fatigued, so she tries to limit how much of her power that she uses.

adept swordsmen: Lia had been training with swords for years now. While she isn't the greatest swordsmen, she is certainly skilled, being able to keep calm in high stress situations. Instead of cutting down her opponents with powerful strikes, she uses quicker, less powerful attacks to wear her opponents down.

Raijin and Fujin:
Lia's beloved twin blades that were made from a special mineral that can generate electricity with each swing. They are a gift from her late father, who told her to "Move like the wind, and strike like thunder," when he gave them to Lia.

Vice:
Lia has a hard time actually asking for help due to how she was brought up.
A bit of a workaholic
Can take things a little to seriously at times
Has trouble talking about her emotions

Personality:
Lia is a very "stiff" person, and is often seen as an over serious person, who always weighs the pro's and cons of something before doing it. However, once she's set her mind to something, it's hard to prevent her from seeing it to the end. She's constantly trying to improve herself, never settling to be "good" at something. Despite popular belief, she does have a sense of humor, it just tends to be very dry, and almost comprehensible to those who don't hang around her.

Branch: Soldier,Student

Background:
Lia is the eldest daughter of the Daejun house, a pretty wealthy family known for trading quality goods, and was there for given the most responsibility out of all of her siblings, and was taught at a young age to bear any burden thrown at her. While most kids were playing with toys, Lia was reading books about the history of Alenia, and had no real interest in becoming a proper lady. While this angered her mother, it absolutely delighted her father, who took Lia on every hunt he went on. He also taught her how to properly use a sword, and even got her an instructor to hone her sword skills. Eventually, as she grew older, more responsibilities were put on her shoulders, like going to events, managing the Daejun houses funds, pretty much any sort of paperwork that had to be done. The older Lia got, the less she was able to train with her blades, or leave the house. And while this did make Lia sad, she never spoke about it, considering it another burden that she had to carry. But when she reached the Age of 24, her father became i'll, and it would seem like in an instant the once strong man was lying in his death bed. He grabbed Lia's hand, and squeezed it,
"Do what makes you happy, sweet daughter"
That was her fathers last words before he passed. A few days after, she caught wind of Visian Academy, a military academy that accepted both humans and non-humans, which interested Lia. She decided to throw her hat into the ring, leaving her younger sister to become the head of the house (her mother practically doing most of the work).

Name: Fae Hartfield
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual
Age (18+): 19
Race: Sheep Demon
Abilities (Include limitations):
Telepathic Communication
Fae can communicate with another person mentally or affect their minds/thoughts. She is limited in she cannot read people's thoughts, but she has been developing her powers enough she is able to easily perceive their mood - just not necessarily know what their exact thoughts are. This does not require too much concentration on her part as it is her most honed power communication-wise. If she spends too long trying to read someone's thoughts, it takes a great amount of concentration that can easily lead to a nosebleed, disabling migraine, or both.

Telekinesis
Fae can influence/manipulate/move objects/matter with her mind. She is limited in the sense she cannot move anything she could not physically with her hands, she is not quite able to lift someone up and throw them across a room. However, she can definitely throw them off balance or knock them over enough to finish them off herself physically with a weapon or a hex bolt. It takes some concentration on her part but if she does it too much or for too long it can easily lead to a nosebleed, disabling migraine, or both.

Levitation
Fae is able to levitate herself, and only herself. She can pick herself up and move herself across a 10-foot distance, but no more than that. It takes some concentration on her part but if she does it too much or for too long it can easily lead to a nosebleed, disabling migraine, or both.

Hex Bolts
Fae is able to manipulate and project raw energy in the form of reddish-purple light that can inflict damage. She is limited to where it can have unpredictable events to where it can even damage her, however rare, it can happen. It's a very risky ability that is very powerful but has a lot of consequences. It takes a lot of concentration on her part and if she does it too much or for too long it can easily lead to a nosebleed, disabling migraine, or both.

General Combat
Fae is able to hold her own in general combat, whether ranged with her powers or in melee with dual knives. However, she is not the most skilled physically. She mostly relies on how secure her powers are for the most part, even if she is still pretty limited in her abilities. They make her strong enough.

Vices:
Fae is mute. She relies on her telepathy to be able to communicate with others, however, it can still easily make her unseen or unheard.
Quiet, shy, a bit bashful, and quite the clumsy klutz. She has two left feet.

Branch Affiliation: Mage, Student

Personality: Fae is known as a very down to earth and level headed person. She is always cool, calm, and collected. Although she is a bit physically held back by not being very physically strong or can physically speak, her mental willpower is strong enough for ten men. That is what makes her powers strong enough to put her in this academy. She is very resilient and always gets back up no matter how many times she falls. She's stubborn and hardheaded in that way, but she also likes to push herself and challenge herself to greater heights to get stronger in every way possible. She does not like relying on other people, and also tends to be pretty shy as is. However, she is very clumsy and this can lead to her being quite bashful regardless of the attention she doesn't ever really want.

Background (opt): Key points - she was raised by her sister, and her parents died when she was young. (Full background I will figure out as we go/to be added soon. I just wanted to put this character sheet out there ASAP. c: )

THIS CHARACTER IS NO LONGER ACTIVE

Name: Jamo Konica
fancy young noble man (With images) | Character portraits ...

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Pansexual

Age (18+): 18

Race: Human

Abilities:

Astral Projection: Allows him to separate from his body, sort of like a ghost if you will; living things cannot touch, hear or see him physically, while he can see and hear them. This power allows him to go beyond his physical body in about a thirty-meter radius and can last in this state for thirty minutes at most. He can't move things while he does this; he can't go through a door but he can't open it either. When his time runs out it feels a little like he's drowning, and Jamo gets jammed back into his body. While he is doing this his body is catatonic.

Mental Projection: In a five-meter radius, Jamo can reach out with his mind and move things. This is limited to three objects at a time, although it does not drain him much at all. When his mind is distracted, his power is significantly reduced, to the point of barely being able to move one object. In general, he can hold this for hours at a time all three objects aren't too heavy.

Vices: Almost always refuses to admit he's wrong, even if he knows so, and is constantly worried about his appearance.

Personality: Coming from the noble family of Konica, his father has schooled into him many lessons, but he's not too good about this, mostly because he's pretty impulsive. This causes him to have to constantly cover his tracks, which means he's quite good at it. His first goal at all times is not to make a fool of himself since that would tarnish the Konica reputation. He's not arrogant or stubborn, but he never admits he's wrong. Generally, he talks formally in public but relaxes his speech and pronunciation in private. Despite his attitude, Jamo is also perceptive and cunning, which is the only reason why he doesn't get into much trouble.

Branch Affiliation: Aristocrat, Student

Background (opt): The rich family of Konica built its mining business on the backs of non-humans; Jamo was born into the family as the next heir and with the new academy's announcement, he was sent there promptly, as it was the best of the best. With his powers, he's taken the role of the information sponge in his classes.

Other: Dark blue is my favorite color

Name: Elsa Elro
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Age (18+): 18
Race: Human
Abilities (Include limitations):

Frost – Can breath frost that covers people in frost. This only lasts for 10 seconds. She has limited capacity as breathing frost is very demanding on her throat.

Snowman – Can conjure a snowman that runs around attacking people at random and destroying things. The snowman is 6ft and has the strength of a fit male in his 20s. She cannot control the snowman, so it can attack anyone or destroying anything. Snowman dies by either his head gets knocked off or if it thaws. The warmer the air is, the faster it thaws. Can only be summoned three times per day.

Ice – Able to turn small surfaces into ice. This includes ground, tables, etc. Doesn’t have to turn entire surface into ice, can just be a specific spot.

Vices: Overly emotional, insecure, doesn’t handle pressure

Branch Affiliation: Mage

Personality: Sweet, friendly, and kind. Having lived her whole life in a small village, she has a naive perspective. She believes everyone is inherently good and that people can always find a way to get along. She is overly emotional, easily cry when things make her happy or sad. Her emotional nature and naive perspective makes her appear immature for her age.

Background: Elsa grew up in a small village. She developed powers which at first amazed others, but when the powers got stronger they began to scare others. One day Elsa got angry when a kid stole ice cream from a smaller kid. Elsa conjured an angry snowman, which she couldn't control and the snowman caused great damage to the village before finally melting. Elsa's lack of discipline and control over her power has caused the village to become afraid and sent her away.

Name:
Jaycee Cormac

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
Heterosexual

Age (18+):
20

Race:
Human

Abilities (Include limitations):
Thunderclap
Jaycee has the ability to to create sonic burst from both his hands and his feet. The force and direction of the blast are determined by a few factors. For starters the direction is determined by what part of his party he decides to use to generate the burst. If he claps his heels together then the blast will fire off behind him or if he claps his hands then the blast will fire off in front of him. The force is determined by how hard he claps his hands, clacks his heels, snaps his fingers, etc. The range of the ability seems to correspond with the force of the Thunderclap but he has never gotten past 30 feet per burst. Each burst has a different level of recoil with the strongest burst causing him to either rocket forwards or even backwards from the blast. Due to this Jaycee has developed a tendency to use it not only as a defensive mechanism but also as a way to close the distance between him and whatever he is trying to get close to.
Thunderclap though primarily used by Jaycee for mobility it is capable of doing at least a little damage. Depending on where the blast is aimed at and the proximity to the blast, a full strength Thunderclap can crack bones, or even break weaker ones. Another applicable use for Thunderclap is targeting a person's ears. If fired off right next to a persons ear any level of thunderclap with have some effect, whether it be a loud startling crack at the weakest level to a stun like effect/ringing ear drums/possible/hearing loss at it's strongest level.

Vices:
Reckless
Impatient
Absolutely terrible with money
Loud (May or may not be related to hearing issues due to Thunderclap)

Branch Affiliation:
Mage Student

Personality:
Jaycee likes to consider himself a relatively friendly individual even if his loud and rambunctious nature tends to turn some people away from him. He isn't much of a trickster nor does he like to cause trouble for himself or others. Jaycee just really can't help it sometimes, he just hates sitting still for too long and wants to keep himself moving. This part of his personality has led him to develop the very annoying habit of tapping his finger/foot against whatever he can find when he is bored. His reckless and impatient behavior over shadows a very important part of Jaycee's personality, the fact that he is actually very intelligent. This high level of intelligence usually hidden under his stupid behavior only tends to show itself when something/someone has caught his attention or if he is in a dangerous situation.

Background (opt):
Jaycee was born in a little town out of the way for most places as the son of a well off farmer. Having a good amount of land and people who helped work the land meant that the family actually had a good amount of money, but they were not considered nobles. Jaycee was the youngest of two children having a sister who was three years older than him. While growing up he was basically attached to his sisters hip, always following her around and doing his best to copy her. He would eventually adopt her rash and rather reckless mannerisms as he got older. The two would constantly play together, and when his sister eventually made her own friends they let little Jaycee join them. Although it was fun at the time it would later leave him isolated when it was time for him to start making his own friends.

Jaycee's life would change drastically one day. The day after his eighth birthday Jaycee was excitedly awaiting the small party that his sister and her friends had planned for him later that day. He was told to wait at the house while the girls prepared everything down at the river and for a bit Jaycee did just that. Despite his sisters request to stay put the young boy couldn't wait any longer and he took off running to the river. He would soon grow to regret how slow he ran that day. As he closed in on the river instead of the excited giggling he expected to be greeted with he heard screams than the image that would grow to haunt him for the rest of his life. He arrived just in time to see his sisters flailing arms dip under the water for the last time.

"If only I had been faster, why couldn't I have ran faster, I need to be faster", thoughts like these would plague the young boy for the rest of his child hood and eventually turn into his obsession. He began to do everything faster and faster, eventually developing the Thunderclap, an ability he would teach himself how to use so that he could get quick burst of speed, but the Thunderclap alone wasn't enough or him. As he grew older he began to look for new avenues to gain speed, one of those being Non-humans. Even though they were hated Jaycee never had any feelings other then curiosity for them. Maybe by learning about them could he find new ways to become faster and faster. The founding of Visian Academy would be his chance, a chance he could not pass up. Gathering the courage he enrolled and would earn his way into the mage program.

Name:
Scathrai Deiyan (Scath for short.)

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
Heterosexual

Age:
20? 21? Exact age is unknown.

Race:
Shade

Abilities:
Racial abilities:

Change appearance: Scathrai can change aspects of his appearance (The hair made of shadows, black sclera, unnaturally pale skin) into something more resembling a human; what he's supposed to look like. This facade oftentimes disappears when he is sleeping or using an excessive amount of magic.
Shadow Blade: Scathrai can take the shadows cast from an object blocking light, and can form a weapon from it. It takes some time to gather the strands of darkness that make up the weapon; generally, the bigger the weapon, the more time he needs. Forming a weapon isn't an endeavor to be taken lightly; it takes concentration to force the fluid strands to stay and cement in place. As such, Scath tends to form such a weapon only when he needs to. He prefers forming polearms, such as spears, or more often, glaives.
Shadow Blur: Shades have a peculiar ability where their form seems to almost merge with the darkness around them; it is not invisibility, per se, but rather it is an effective camouflage. Moving can disrupt this effect somewhat- it is far more effective while standing still.
Darkvision: Shades can also see in the dark; they see in monochromatic shades of black, grey, and white; they have a peculiar quirk where at the corners of their eyes, it begins to seem like a mist is rolling in, making this sight slightly akin to tunnel vision. Furthermore, seemingly as a payment for this ability, the sun hurts a shade's eyes. Not blindingly so, just enough for it to be irritating, no matter the brightness of the day.
Skills:
Lock-picking: One wonders how a soul like Scath figured out how to lockpick. If 'stealing' pastries (Note, sneaking into the bakery at midnight for a snack, and leaving payment.) isn't enough of an answer for you, then nothing is.
Polearm combat: His adopted father taught him the basics; He can stab, slash, and do the other techniques of polearms, albeit a bit clumsily.
Magic:
Cold-fire: One can only assume this is a shade's warped version of pyromancy. Scath can produce a blue fire that is so cold, it burns the flesh. While he is not capable- and probably never will be- of unleashing storms of fire from the sky, it is clear he does have some aptitude for this type of magic. As of right now, all he can do is produce a small flame, and 'light' candles.

Vices:
Timid: Scath generally hates being put on the spotlight. While he can talk with a group of well established friends, he hates things such as speeches, social gatherings, and the like.
Innocently Ruthless: Scath, while capable of showing plenty of emotion- he laughs, is happy, sad, etc... has a disjointed sense of feeling when it comes to killing and torture. Oftentimes, when he sees someone he generally doesn't in pain, he normally doesn't do anything. He thinks nothing of it. The same would happen if he were to kill anyone- he wouldn't have a twinge of guilt murdering someone. It's not that he's cold blooded; it's just that the concept of morality (in the case of murder and torture), for some reason, doesn't reach him. Now, if someone he cares about is undergoing something like torture, he WILL intervene; not because he recognizes that torture is wrong, however: instead, he just doesn't want a friend/companion to be hurt and sad.
Sweet tooth: Scath LOVES pastries. He will connive, scam, steal, and beg to get just one slice of a good sweet.

Branch Affiliation:
Mage

Personality:
Scath is a very quiet person; he abhors loud noises, he cringes away from loud crowds, and he he absolutely refuses to shout, no matter the circumstances. But don't let this fool you: Scath actually loves being around friends. And he's not shy. it's just that.. he's not too fond large numbers of people. And don't expect him to talk much, even with friends. He's the kind of person that just nods quietly a lot.

Aside from this, Scath is empathetic. Not insanely so, and there is the noticeable flaw in that he can't compute why things like murder and torture are wrong, but enough so that when someone is in need of help, Scath will be there. He probably won't say much, but he'll be there. He generally will go out of his way for people he likes; just... he'll never give his pastries away.

And now onto his quirks... Well, first and foremost, Scath has a sweet tooth. In fact, calling it a sweet tooth might be an understatement. And his cooking? Well, let's say his sense of proportions are often wildly wrong. Aside from that, Scath is an excellent mapmaker and pianist. He loves taking the time to sit down and just focus on something.

Background:
First off: Scath has no idea what the first five years of his life were like. He just... appeared in the graveyard one day. The priests attending it were very startled, and even a bit wary. After all, it's not every day that a being with eyes that glow blue and hair that fades into shadow appears in your cemetery. When Scath just did nothing but stare at the equally surprised priests, they relaxed- but they still attempted to ward off the undead. When that did nothing but cause confusion and a minor annoyance to Scath, the priests were at a loss. Here stood a child, a perfect image of another one that lay deceased, appearing for all the world as the child's spirit crawled out of the ground. When questioned about his past, Scath couldn't remember anything.

Eventually, they called the deceased child's parents over. The process went much the same way- suspicion, then gradual acceptance. It took two weeks of this, before Scath's parents finally took him in. Very shortly afterwards, all three found out that Scath could change his appearance to match the deceased child's appearance. That quickly became the norm with Scath, only changing when he was asleep. Very shortly, Scath was loved very much like a normal child, despite the fact that he gave off a very... unnatural aura. They raised him, and he quickly began to help them out at their farm.

Yes, Scath's parents were simple farmers. They were some of the well-off large land owners, but they were by no means nobility.

Despite having a home he could always go to, Scath's social life wasn't exactly the greatest. One simply doesn't 'return from the dead,' and expect everything to be fine and dandy. As such, Scath spent much of his time alone. Well, except for the baker's daughter. She was a feisty one, that one was. Where others just shied away from Scath, she stormed up to him and demanded why didn't he wake up from his nap sooner. A frightened Scath tried to run away, but Anne (The daughter's name) wasn't having any of that. After catching him, she forced him to help her make a bridge across a small creek. Thus began the friendship between Scath, and Anne.

Many years later- six, in fact- the cartographer's shop opened. It was an extravagant affair, the shop was; not only did it hold many tools meant for mapping, but he also brought his piano in- a heavy thing that caused much swearing among the strongsmen moving it off of the cart (Which was carefully designed with stability in mind.). Eventually, a couple of days after the cartographer settled in, Anne and Scath- rather, Anne forcing Scath to come along with her- entered the cartographer's shop. After scolding Anna for mistreating an old map, the mapmaker took notice of Scath's fascination with both the maps and the piano. He probed Scath's interests in the two things, before eventually offering to teach him how to play the piano. A thrilled Scath accepted- or would have, if Anne had not reminded him to make sure his parents were alright with it.

They were.

Another five years. During this time, Scath's father determined that he needed to be prepared if he was ever called to be in the militia, and taught him the basics of polearms and fighting. The mapmaker was busy teaching Scath piano, and also cartography on the side. All seemed good. Then, near the end of this five year period, Anne finally blew up. She was furious that Scath was spending less time with her and more time with that 'stuffy old man,' and an argument ensued between the two. After nearly a week of silence, gifting Anne with multiple things (including a sweet he stole from her own bakery), promising to spend more time with her, and just trying to work it out. Eventually, the two managed to get over it, and their friendship continued.

The next two years were a blur of events. Whether it came from teasing that he and Anne were a thing- they weren't; Anne always had her eye on the town blacksmith; Scath frequently heard her complaints about how he always seemed to dense to notice her advances- or the simple fact that his parents were expecting more out of him now that he was older, Scath had a busy time. Three notable, critical, things happened during these two years. One: Scath discovered he could make weapons out of shadows. It was a specific process, with specific circumstances, not to mention tiring, but Scath could do it. His father also witnessed him doing it, and after making Scath promise to keep this ability a secret, quietly allowed him to practice it. Secondly, Scath discovered his 'pyromancy.' At this point, his parents were getting worried. They were very afraid that Scath could be.. showing his true colors. Finally, the thing that Scath was dreading happened: Anne discovered that he was a Shade.

These events were stressful, and ultimately impacted his relationships. The mapmaker was the only one he could turn to at this time; when he confessed- or rather, showed what he was- the mapmaker didn't seem surprised, and told him what he knew: That Scath was a Shade, and that he wasn't undead. That's all that the mapmaker knew, but with this knowledge, he helped Scath convince his parents that Scath wasn't an evil monster, or turning to become one. However, with Anne, he wasn't as successful as he hoped. While she nodded and didn't avoid Scath anymore, he could always tell that she was skittish around him.

This went on for two years. During this time, the mapmaker helped Scath in subtle ways. When Scath was having trouble keeping his 'pyromancy' under control, the mapmaker gave him hints of how to control his magical abilities. When there was a brief time with bullies (and Anne is still skittish around Scath at this time), the mapmaker helped Scath out by teaching him with polearms a bit. And when Scath was finally moved- and this is the only time- by the dying of a fox, the mapmaker was the one who helped Scath bind the fox to him and build the body. Of course, he had to keep Evelynn- the name of the fox- a secret from everyone else, except maybe Anne, but once that was done, Evelynn was the replacement for Anne, basically.

Then, word came out of a new college, called Visian Academy. While his parents were debating sending him to be an apprentice to a wizard, this completely changed their plans. Here was a school run by the kingdom itself; it was largely payment free, aside from the costs to travel there, and perhaps best of all, it offered a place for Scath to socialize to other people- something that they felt he desperately needed to learn. So, after a poorly attended party, saying his goodbyes to his parents and the mapmaker, and packing his stuff, Scath was sent off to Visian Academy.

(Unfortunately, there is a lack of anime pictures with blue eyes with black sclera and shadowy hair.)

Familiar: Scath has a clockwork fox as a familiar. Her name is Evelynn. She has shown herself to be a playful trickster, and loves finding ways to force Scath to interact with people.

Other:
A shade's body temperature is noticeably colder than a regular human's. It ranges from a three to seven degree difference. Scath is specifically six degrees colder than an average human.

Star Light, Star Bright...
Name: Orion Callswater.
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Age: 20
Race: Human? (Starborn)

Appearance: Orion stands at a height of 5'10, his skin pale but almost dimly lit, a faint hue of light radiating from his form. His body marked with stars and constellations, no more clearly shown within their pupils and forehead - the light created by them clearly viewed through his darker moondust-like color of their hair along with any light clothing, which is what he seems to typically wear in spite of any weather. No major part of his body seemingly unblemished by at least on constellation, his frame slightly built - though most certainly not far from slender.

Physical Quirks:
- His blood slowly becomes motes of light when exposed to air for long periods of time.
- Sparks and ribbons of light trail from his fingertips whenever he gestures.
- His heart seems to glow faintly beneath their skin.

...Wish I may, Wish I might...
Vices: Nosy/Overly Curious, Inattentive to Surroundings and People, Scatterbrained, Impulsive.

Personality:
Orion could be accurately described, after initially and even with a few days of spending time with them as someone with their 'head in the clouds', expressing himself as a person who is rather unaware of their surroundings and people - typically losing track of conversations in minor fits of daydreaming. He could seen idly mumbling to himself and for those who listen in, they would hear odd questions of 'Is water vapor burnt water...' and the like. The only time that he seems to concentrate on... well anything, is when something is particularly interesting and/or mysterious - in other words whenever he is a nosy little shit digging around in business he has no right being in - wanting to explore all the avenues of the situation before doing anything if he was going to do anything at all and not just get enough information to understand the situation and that's it - the end of that 'story'.

He does seem aware that some of his curiosities are better left untouched, though that doesn't dissuade him from following the trail that presents itself to him, often stating the cursed phrase of 'What's the worse that could happen' which is often followed by him daydreaming of all the more... fun things that could happen, both good and bad. ... And well, the rest is to be revealed, like any other sort of person. wOOAH.

History:
"Nosy, Nosy!"

Orion was born in a fairly wealthy human merchant family along the coast of the Empire, growing up under their own family's guidance in the sense of mathematics, the keeping of social tensions, and seafaring - the knowledge that was required of him was rather focused but intensly studied under the watch of his older brother and tutor, of which he did rather diligently. The family business was at times boring, but it was.. fun in it's own way, hearing the seafaring stories, stories that sailors would tell to his father and brother on their travels (both myth and truth - some of which were hard to tell the difference from) and.. interesting and exotic clients that had come to buy their second-hand wares. The favorite of these stories was the story of The Fallen Stars and one that he had grown up with since he was a child - where he knew from heart but always had asked as if he never heard it from other merchants and customers that came to both buy and tell stories.

Though the story had the same sort of variation, the general plot line was the same, a star (or stars) had fell for a mortal and in order to spend eternity with them had gifted her a fraction of their power and as punishment, they were cast from the heavens and their lover died a mortal death - leaving the star forever grief-stricken - seeking to darken the sky and blot out the stars.. enlisting mortals in their plans whether they know it or not - stealing powers from the heavens. And the story would always end the same. A warning to the listener. "...The Fallen Exile, what he is now called, now wanders the realm, coaxing wanderers in the darkest of nights - using their bodies as vessels of power to steal power from the stars above. ...So remember, do not follow the dancing lights that come wandering in your sights lest the lights of sky go black as night." And.. then the story would end. The first time he was told it, it was meant to keep him in place and to stop wandering into the woods of the port city... and then he went in anyway. Nothing happened, of course, it was just a story after all. But it didn't stop him for searching for the light. However, on the bright side of their caretakers, the threat of not telling the story to him again kept him in place more than before.

During the annual festival of the port city to celebrate the captures and spoils of the fishermen and merchants, Orion was outside the city once more - though with company - finding old friends their to enjoy the festival with now that he has become fifteen years of age. As the celebrations outside went on, he had found himself more and more distracted - finding himself wandering into the woods by himself - seeming to have lost his friends. There he had found dancing lights. Granted, he was old enough now to tell that the story was just to keep him from entering the forest and lights were probably just fireflies. However.. he followed them further in the forest regardless - leading him to some sort of clearing. Then. Everything went white as was overwhelmed with this burning sensation across his body, as he attempted to capture on of the fireflies in their hands, the light it emitted seeping through his fingers and overtaking his form and surrounding forest.

When he had awoken, he had found his skin made of starlight and hair of moon dust. He.. was confused. And his first instinct to believe the story that was just a folk tale to be truth, at least to a point, finding himself wandering back to civilization - specifically to their manor. Their family at first attempted to send him away, the description being similar to their youngest son but the stars and everything else seemed... off. When the explanation hit, their family half-accepted it, again not believing the folk tale but believing it was him and he had become a 'non-human', sending him off to his grandfather who had secluded himself many years ago - and there was where he had first saw his full form now - slightly more bulkier than what he was before - sparks that trailed from his fingertips - his heart glowing deep in his chest. Their family seeming to hold an attitude of pity and shock towards them, the first words when his older brother saw him being. "...What happened!?.."

He had found himself in a mixture of depression and excitement, the story being true was a possibility but now that he is a non-human he could not continue to the family business. He couldn't hear more stories from the sailors. He had to have a fresh start as a non-human, that's what he was now and was... not isolated from their family. The story being that the family had lost their son during the festival, having gone missing in the forest for several days and now years when in reality he had been living in hiding with his Grandfather.

Their grandfather was... interesting to a point, at moments his old age would catch up to him and he would ramble about random things and things that were not there - in others speaking proverbs. Despite being sent there to be taken care of, he was taking care of the elder for the most part when it came for maintenance around the house. In return, he was told stories, encouraging words, their father making the rather bold claim for his age of: 'You are not a non-human, you are human with so much more...'. When news of the academy came word to their isolated selves - the two of them still needing to leave for a nearby village for supplies - oft with a cloak over his body and heavier clothing (which of course is where they heard it first) and then they returned. However, just before the door was opened to their house, he suddenly grabbed Orion's wrist, looking at him with startling clarity before speaking, "You see the way they look at you Starchild. Recognize it. Know it. Use it."
And then letting go of their wrist, going into the door and suddenly dropping the few belongings of Orion's down the window - very much 'forcing' them to head into the academy - not that he had any objections otherwise.

...First Star I see Tonight...
Branch Affiliation: Mage
Abilities:
Star of Loss: ✴ The first of the stars that Orion can manifest is a white dwarf that takes up the palm of their hand, glowing very faintly with warmth and light, allowing his eyes to faintly see the outlines of lost or stolen objects and the path they have taken - the path being removed once the object is returned to their respective owner. This star also illuminates the outline of those who have recently felt grief or loss in their life in a faint white hue as well as the path of people who have found themselves lost in the past week - again the aura disappearing once the person has found themselves in a familiar location or knows where they are.

Star of Joy: ✴ The second of the stars is a warm but bright yellow star, almost blinding to those who directly look at it, which increases general morale - though not to the point of stopping people wishing to not fight, simply able to bring up spirits for a lack of better description among those who wish to be affected by this effect rather than shake off the warm feeling that encapsulates those with 60 feet of the star. The star's secondary property is that it seems to heal minor scraps made from either tripping themselves and paper cuts at the moment for those who are encased in the bright light it emits in a 60 foot radius.

Star of Acceptance: ✴ The third and most recent of the stars that Orion has managed to conjure is a blue dwarf that similarly fits in the palm of his hand, much like the Star of Loss, though glowing much brighter than joy with almost searing heat across his palm and the surrounding area of 20 feet or so. Those within this area find themselves strangely serene and are able to shake off other mental effects more easily, though if it is something than one cannot or does accept, they cannot receive this benefit. This doesn't seem to differentiate from positive and negative effects on the mind, seeming to start the people within the radius on a fresh start. If the effect that they are being affected by cannot be 'shaken off' or otherwise, this would seem to have no affect and this star does not seem to 'cure' them of their conditions, simply aid them in fending it off for themselves.

General Limitations!
- Only One of Orion's Stars can be active at one time.
- Each star can only be summoned once per day and is dispelled when either dispelled by another magic or Orion's mental concentration on it.

Familiar: Prismatic Shard
A physical shard of what seems to be starlight, or at the very least bright as one when it chooses to be, otherwise seeming as a rather colorful and always shifting glass prism of a humanoid figure. The capabilities of said familiar typically only being the light it can provide 30 feet ahead and a more concentrated beam that is typically aimed for eyes of others in order to temporarily blind them for six seconds or so, though any sort of covering that would typically shield one's eyes from the sun would work well enough to negate this minor effect. Their name seems to be Nova from what they have written, having some semblance of intelligence to them.

...Have the wish I wish tonight.

Extra Tid Bits!:
- His favorite color is White!
- Favorite Number: 051
- Favorite Food: Anything Spicy and/or Seafood Related

- Each star can only be summoned once per day and is dispelled when either dispelled by another magic or Orion's concentration on it.

Extra Tid Bits!:
- His favorite color is White!
- Favorite Number: 051
- Favorite Food: Anything Spicy and/or Seafood Related

Basics
Name: Katarina Crowe
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Age (18+): 21
Race: Human/Crow (Shapeshifter)
Branch Affiliation: Aristocrat Branch Student
Abilities
Take Flight:
Due to her lineage, Katarina is able to transform into a crow at will. Although she has spent many years perfecting this skill, it is not without its faults. If she is distracted or not in a good headspace, her transformation will stop abruptly whether she has fully shifted or not. Katarina has ended up with wings for arms many times because of this. The longer Kat stays in her crow form, the more stamina it takes. She once slept for 4 days straight as a result of overexerting stamina. When Katarina is in her crow form, she can fly at exceptional speeds and has enhanced vision and hearing.

Bird's Eye View:
Another perk of her shapeshifting ancestry, Katarina can easily see things at a distance. However, if she focuses on something in the distance for too long, she can get eye strain.

Copycat:
Like crows, Katarina can mimic the calls of her friends and foes. This ability relies on Katarina's hearing; becoming deaf would render this ability useless. Katarina can only copy things she's heard, she can't mimic their voice saying something of her choosing. She's extremely skilled at mimicking bird calls and laughing.

On The Fence:
Katarina is a highly skilled fencer, being able to easily parry and disengage her foes. Katarina and her siblings studied with some of the best fencers in Alenia and it shows. Thanks to her training, Katarina has exceptional reflexes and can dodge most hits. What she lacks in physical strength she makes up for in agility and strategy.
Personality
Vices:
Feels burdened with the responsibility of protecting her family's name and social standing
Tends to lose track of time while studying or reading
Phlegmatic to a fault; can't outwardly express her emotions well
Afraid of cats and owls

Personality:
On the outside, Katarina is cool and collected. Inside, however, she is an entirely different person. Having grown up exposed to the shady dealings in Alenia, Katarina is suspicious of everyone she encounters. Winning her trust is extremely difficult and will take a lot of effort, but once you've gained her trust she is fiercely loyal. Katarina is extremely protective of her younger sister, Madeleine. She is highly intelligent, perceptive, and has a strong sense of justice. Being in the information business means she can easily dig up your deepest, darkest secrets, and she will use them against you if necessary. She is a perfectionist and likes order. Katarina likes to fly when she's stressed or sad. She spends her free time reading and practicing her fencing.

Background:
Growing up in an affluent household, Katarina is no stranger to the luxuries of life. While Katarina's family seems perfectly human to the rest of the world, they harbor a deep secret. They are shapeshifters, beings that are both human and animal. To maintain their upper-class standing, they portray themselves as fully human. Katarina's father owns and operates a large bank. At night, however, he runs an entirely different business. The Crowe family deals in both money and information. Using their crow forms, Katarina and her older siblings are in charge of tracking and gathering information on Alenia's most powerful people. Her father then sells this information to the highest bidder on the black market. Katarina often feels like a wolf in sheep's clothing, and she has a deep hatred for the prejudice against non-humans in Alenia. She knows the darkest secrets of Alenia's upper echelon and resents those who use their power to hurt others, including her father. Katarina longs to use her shapeshifting abilities for the greater good of society, which is why, much to her parents' chagrin, she chose to attend Visian Academy.

"What an odd world we live in."

Name: Izevel “Siege” Gallame

Gender: Cisgender Female

Sexuality: Bisexual

Age: 23

Race: Human

Appearance/Pic:
9eee4f9a27753a9bb56934133d199c4d--php.jpg

Abilities:

  • Artificer’s Talent:

Izevel has followed in the footsteps of her father to become not an inventor, but something far greater and she has improved upon his original design templates. This shows that the young woman is more than capable of crafting, improving and designing new and innovative technology.

  • Arc Thrower:

This is a small handgun device that fires small arcs of electricity, rather than bullets. The electricity fired from this gun is only enough to stun a living target for three seconds. Additionally, this gun can only fire once every 5 minutes because it has to recharge during that time. If the Arc Thrower is used on Ember, it can recharge the Android by 25%. Lastly, the Arc Thrower only has a range of 5 ft, so it is rarely used for combat purposes.

  • Buster Cannon:

The Buster Cannon is a giant, portable enchanted cannon that is capable of launching normal and magic-laced bombs at mid to long ranges. The cannon is also hefty and sturdy enough to be utilized as a bludgeoning weapon and it is also insanely difficult to damage or break the large weapon. Though this does mean that the Buster Cannon is not able to be wielded by normal Humans without magical assistance. Lastly, the Buster Cannon can only hold four bombs inside of its barrel, but only one of these bombs may be launched at a time.

  • Kaiser Armor:
    29fafb114b951c5522949ce8cd51bdd5.jpg

The Kaiser Armor is Izevel’s latest creation which exists in two forms: Inert and Awakened.
Inert. The armor is in its more vulnerable state, which makes it exceptionally easy to inflict damage on its owner. Though the armor’s light plating in this state allows the wearer to make full use of their unrestricted maneuverability.
Awakened. In its Awakened state, the Kaiser Armor is fully deployed, allowing its wearer access to its Fortify Rune as well as additional armor plating and a full helmet. These add ons give the wearer a significant boost to their defensive capabilities at the cost of maneuverability.

  • Runes:

Izevel is able to imbue the items she creates with runes which further strengthens and improves these objects by granting them additional effects. Though some of these runes are also capable of being imbued upon creatures or can only be placed upon a living creature.

Vigor -
This rune bolsters the physical strength of a creature, allowing that creature to accomplish great feats of strength that were before unattainable to them, however, it must be activated by a pre-set command word in order to do so. This rune can only be placed upon a creature.
Vigor Image

Fortify -
This rune increases the sturdiness and hardness of an object, allowing it to withstand impacts that would normally break or shatter it. This rune can only be placed upon an object and it requires a pre-set command word in order to activate.

Branch Affiliation: Soldier, Student

Personality:

Pragmatic. Izevel is the type of person who would rather make no decision at all if it meant the alternative was to make an impulsive decision that hinged upon an improbable factor. This is why most of Izevel’s more impactful actions are carefully planned to leave little to no margin for error. An educated risk is acceptable when the potential results are still within your favor, but if sparing a life means jeopardizing your own life further down the line it is then best to simply eliminate the threat before it catches up to you.

Honest. It is more beneficial to come up with a lie when you are a Mercenary whose jobs mostly consist of fighting, hunting down and killing non-humans, yet in spite of how much trouble Izevel could save herself by telling a single lie, she still refuses to do so. This is not done out of some twisted sense of morality or honor. No, Izevel refuses to lie because it simply is not as fun to refrain from telling a conservative racist that you did kill the woman and children alongside the men and then watch the delightful look of horror that would mar their features a moment later. She knows full well that the truth in the wrong hands can destroy a person, a city and quite possibly an entire kingdom, which is why Izevel reveals it so often.

Loyal. This may come as a shock, but Izevel is capable of displaying loyalty, though for the most part this has been exclusively reserved for her companion, Ember. Izevel would willingly put her own life on the line for Ember, sacrifice a valuable piece of her research and even take an unnecessary risk if it meant ensuring the safety of her lifelong friend. If Izevel is willing to give up so much for one creature, then it is quite possible that she may eventually learn to accept even more people into her heart. Still, such an occurrence would take a great deal of time, patience and consistency.

Vices:

Ambitious. After spending most of her life as a starving Mercenary taking on whatever jobs put food upon the table, Izevel has learned that in order to acquire what she desires she must take steps to take it herself. She will go through a great deal of trouble simply to get whatever it is that she wants. No method, no means, no strategy is too far for Izevel. If she must kill to get what she wants, then Izevel will kill. If she must raze a village, then Izevel will raze a village. If she must burn a city, then Izevel will burn a city. Once, Izevel may have tried to avoid such extreme measures but doing so never gave her what she wanted. When she was nice, no one would listen, no one would help her and no one would grant her mercy.

Distrustful. Growing up on the road only to turn to Mercenary work has taught Izevel to look out for herself and very few other people. In her younger, more trusting years, Izevel was betrayed by far too many fellow mercs who were attempting to get a bigger cut of the profit by eliminating the competition. Due to these experiences Izevel has learned to never believe the stories that others have told her unless she has proven those stories true herself. Though, even then Izevel will not trust a stranger. She would rather kill an innocent than risk having another person betray her.

Hubris. Izevel is quite the competent individual, which has been proven by her many exploits as a Mercenary. She has experienced her fair share of life lessons the hard way and has grown all the stronger for them. That is why Izevel believes that she is beyond failure now that she has already made so many mistakes. Izevel thinks that there is nothing that she cannot accomplish, no singular entity that she cannot simply defeat or any problem that she cannot easily solve. The young woman has become so confident in her own abilities that she just does not even contemplate the possibility of failing. For Izevel, anything can be accomplished so long as she has time and resources.

Morality:

Izevel fully believes that there is a “Right” and a “Wrong” path to take in Life. She is aware that her actions place her completely within the “Wrong” category, the same as most other people. Though, Izevel also believes that there is something worse than an immoral action and that would be failing to act when a greater evil threatens an entire society.

Etiquette:

Izevel does not truly understand what “Proper” Manners are so she often comes across as crass when speaking to those of higher birth. Then again, Izevel does not put much thought into the Hierarchical Order or it’s importance unless she is paid to do so.

Attitude:

Izevel treats most conversations as a waste of time unless they are about something potentially academic or militaristic in nature. Small talk with a stranger is something Izevel would prefer to avoid if such a conversation held no benefit for her. This is probably why the young woman comes off as rude.

Outlook On Life:

Izevel believes that Life is one constant struggle to survive and that every hour you spend in this World is paid for in blood. Concepts like non-violence, diplomacy and mercy are not things that Izevel believes in because of what the World has done to her and what it has forced her to do in return.

Perception:

Izevel is a pessimist. She will always see the worst in people and expect the worst in nearly every situation. Life has taught her that there is no such thing as peace, only a momentary reprieve from the violence and bloodshed that the World seems adamant about continuing.

Standpoint:

While Izevel desires to study at the Visian Academy and become one of its best students, she knows that deep down, she will always consider herself a monster for what she has done as a Mercenary.

Taboos:

Izevel will never refer to herself as a Human. After some of the actions she has willingly taken, the young woman knows that she does not deserve to be called one.

Background:

Izevel was born from the unexpected and unsanctioned union of an old inventor and a young noblewoman. Unfortunately, this union was not to be for Izevel’s mother, Layli had passed away during childbirth, leaving behind her significantly aged husband and newborn child. Janus, Izevel’s father, was heartbroken when his wife died so he fell into an alcohol fuelled rage that persisted for three years. During these years, the broken man would work on a personal project in between his bouts of anger and violence that would ravage their home. The very young girl, Izevel, was raised by Janus's assistant, Taarus, a bright young man who attempted to assist the uncontrollable Janus in the man’s self-destructive state.
The Gallame house was not the best place to live, but Izevel did not remain there long enough to form any real lasting memories of the place.

Upon reaching her third birthday, Izevel was given a great gift from her father, an artificial life form that was designed to protect and raise her. Janus called this false life form “3MB-3R”, who looked like a red haired young woman yet was not one. Then, after receiving this new gift, Janus sent his daughter and his new creation away. He no longer wanted either of them in the house, which was a declaration that caused no small amount of pain to well inside of Izevel. Still, no matter how much the young girl pleaded and cried, her father did not change his mind.

Cast out from the only home she had ever known in her short life, Izevel felt lost, even with 3MB-3R at her side. The little girl had no clue where she was to go, what she was supposed to do or how she was going to survive the coming months. Thankfully, this was not something that Izevel had to worry about for 3MB-3R had already thought of it. The artificial woman went into Mercenary work to support Izevel while trying to raise the young girl. The two of them moved around constantly as a result of this profession, which caused Izevel to have little to no interaction with any human or non-human around her own age. Though, Izevel grew used to being isolated from other living creatures as the years passed. She grew increasingly attached to 3MB-3R to the point that Izevel simply would not separate from the false creature’s side. Izevel even gave the artificial life form a real name so that she wouldn’t feel so alone.

Izevel and Ember, the name the girl had decided to give to the fake woman, had traversed across approximately half of the known kingdom while taking on Mercenary work to earn their living. During the twenty years Izevel spent growing up as a wanderer, the young woman had discovered something marvelous. Ember, the companion her father had given her, held all of Janus’s old project ideas within her mind or whatever the equivalent was for an artificial person. With these plans Izevel was able to create new devices, weapons, armor and items that hardly anyone else in the kingdom had ever dreamed of. It truly was astounding and Izevel would have been more than willing to share her creations with the world if it were not for one simple fact she had learned growing up on the road. The people did not trust a Mercenary beyond their ability with a blade. To the rest of the kingdom a mercenary or in Izevel’s case, the companion to a mercenary was not to be trusted beyond whatever you paid them to do. It was a tough lesson to learn, but Izevel learned it rather quickly when she began taking on mercenary work alongside Ember to gather the funds necessary to craft her projects.

Within the past two years, Izevel has been hearing whispers of an academy that the King himself had set to creating. Normally, such news would not matter to Izevel unless it promised a way to improve her creations or some coin and the Academy certainly offered an opportunity for at least one of those things. Still, Izevel did not immediately set out for this rumored Academy, first she wanted to validate its existence. That is why the young woman has spent most of the past two years hunting down every last bit of information she could possibly acquire on the “Visian Academy” before even attempting to so much as look in its direction. Though, once Izevel had confirmed that Visian Academy was indeed real and not another rumor made by the small folk, she knew that she had to go see it for herself. Now, Izevel makes for Visian Academy with Ember at her side.

Theme Song:

Other:
  • Izevel has a Vigor Rune placed in between her shoulder blades, in the center of her upper back. It’s Command Word is: “Valor”
  • The Buster Cannon has a Fortify Rune etched into it.
  • It was not until Izevel had grown into an adult that she had learned that her father sent her away to protect her from Taarus. Though by then her father had been dead for years.
  • When she was a Mercenary, Izevel and Ember both would take on any sort of job. Whether the job was legal or not never mattered so long as it paid coin. The young woman would do anything from catching a simple thief to destroying an entire Non-Human village.
  • Izevel has killed plenty of times before she ever set a single step towards Visian Academy. Some of her kills have been innocents: women and children. This is not something that Izevel is proud of yet it is still true.
  • Izevel was given the moniker “Siege” during her time as a Mercenary. She was given this name in particular due to how most of her victims died, besieged by long range bombardment while they were still within their homes.
  • Whether or not anyone outside of the Merceny business knows of Izevel and her exploits is unknown to the young woman.
