Name: Violet "Vi" Lightfinder

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Species/Droid Type: Human

Description: Violet is a slender young girl with distinctive violet hair, true to her name. Her tanned skin reflects years of labor in the bright sunlight and the outdoors, which when taken together with her form, features, and silvery-gray eyes, creates a strikingly exotic sight. In formal occasions—when Violet adorns her more feminine outfits—most men see this, her warm smile, and athletic frame; and immediately beeline for her with offers of drink ready at the tongue. Otherwise, Violet  is more commonly seen in a typical oil-slicked, grimy mechanics' garb or a simple, baggy uniform. She doesn't quite seem to understand the value in her appearance.

Personality:

Violet is a sheltered girl. She is familiar with the concepts of politeness, respecting elders, and quiet servitude; but the nuances of social interplay escapes her. She is a fairly straightforward and honest as a result, and tends to expect other people to act the same. This naive attitude often leads to her taking metaphors, idioms, and some of Atticus' ridiculous lies quite literally, which only furthers Violet's confusion. Her bewilderment with the galaxy is, in fact, one of her primary struggles ever since she left Maenna. Her old cult, while preaching rage, hate, and negativity, was actually a pretty simple association. Violet learned to live simply without over-reliance on technology, enjoying the tranquility of mundane work or the little creative expressions in cooking gourmet meals.

Living without the distractions of the outside world meant that Violet also had to learn to enjoy her own company. She's never had a living friend before Atticus and the crew of the Traveler; Violet's closest companion on Maenna was a little droid. She's thus very excited to be on the ship, and seems to see the best in all the crew for all their faults. It's actually rather eerie how her silver orbs seem to almost glow and cut straight into your heart, as if she had X-ray vision for the soul to see who people truly were. It poses an interesting quandary to anyone who meets her. On one hand, Violet is a confused and naive girl from a repressive, backwards cult. On the other, she's a girl with a unique perspective who can cut through all the bullshit and distractions in the world to see the truth for what it really is. The Force is truly strong in this one. Watch out.

Background: In the distant Outer Rim, treading the edges of Wild Space, was the planet Maenna. A primitive world populated by tribal inhabitants and one ancient Sith cult known as the Guardians. For thousands of years they'd been out of touch with the rest of the galaxy, continuing their ancient traditions unnoticed and unmolested by the conflicts raging throughout the universe. Inside the Sith order honed their anger and passion into a source of incredible power, but found their edge dulled over the years. Hatred, fear, and betrayal—fundamentals of the Sith Order—diminished among these Sith, who settled into a form more like a religious group.

Don't be mistaken though. They were still real bastards.

Born among them was Violet. She never manifested any outwards abilities in the Force; there was no accidental Force Lightning or Force Pushing a poor guy off a cliff. She, instead, appeared to be just normal, and thus was placed in the lowest ranks of the order as a servant. As it turned out, Violet became quite good at that. The Sith Guardians, with their haughty arrogance, looked down on her and the other servants but favored Violet for her skills. They tolerated her friendly disposition and overall un-Sithy nature for now; her cakes were pretty legendary.

Then the Empire arrived, and the Emperor's representatives spoke with the leaders of the Guardians. The Emperor was interested in the cult's most prized possession: an ancient holocron left by a powerful Force-user, but which no one had yet to open. Violet was unaware of all of this, even when summoned by the Master of the Guardians. He looked her in the eyes and placed the ancient holocron in her hands, yellow eyes glowing eerily in the dim light. "I have an important mission for you, young one. To prove yourself to us and the Guardians as being a worthy servant," the Master's aged, gravely voice spoke. Violet nodded enthusiastically. "You must take this, and leave Maenna. Travel the galaxy. Find a Jedi Master, and give this to him. This, I demand."

Violet beamed and her nods grew more vigorous. "Yes, Master!" she chirped, holding the cube close like the most precious object in the world. "I will do as you say." Soon Violet's quest began as she departed on a rickety old ship, journeying out in the galaxy with the new maps provided by Imperial representatives. Oblivious to the fact that she was never intended to achieve her mission.

Unknown to her, the Master looked grimly out in the sky, watching her depart. "Farewell, my daughter," he spoke to himself. "May I see you again once one with the Force."

In due time the Empire returned, and Lord Vader demanded the holocron. The Guardians refused to give up their sworn duty to protect the device, unaware it was already in safe hands. So they were slaughtered, weak as they were in the dark side. But halfway across the other side of the galaxy, clutched in the hands of a young woman with violet hair, was their legacy. The Guardians would live on.
