The Age of Vikings is amongst us.
The battle for wealth, for honour and for glory grows now, faster than ever, in earnest. Amongst whispers of fresh, fertile land for pasture, gold and silver beyond dreams, and a new God, the Vikings debate on western conquest. Earl Ragnarr Loðbrók and his sons begin to build boats, in hopes of sailing to their destiny.
Meanwhile, in the divided kingdoms of England, Alfred the Great reigns over Wessex. His daughter, the lady Æthelflæd sits as Lady of Mercia, married to the tyrannous, half-wit Athelred. Alfred yearns to unite the four kingdoms, at long last. No longer would the land be divided: Wessex, East Anglia, Mercia and Northumbria. Instead, England would rise triumphant, as one.
Two dreams of conquest, but only one side can be victorious. Who shall it be? What God will prove unsubdued?
Welcome to the Viking Age. This is a period of strife, bloodshed, war, and discovery. You may write as a Viking, a Saxon, or a hybrid. However, you are not only limited to these three alone. This roleplay will be alternative history, and will incorporate historical figures as seen in both “The Last Kingdom” and in “Vikings”. Come and write your own story, with your favourite characters, alongside literate, like-minded people!
