Short Backstory: They lived a relatively ordinary life in a small town called Cottontail River. They went to school a B student and closeted nonbinary person, and got along well with most of his classmates. They aspired to be an actor, and were talented in the performance arts. Their parents were worryworts, and not always agreeable, but they usually got along. They figured they were a relatively normal person, though they sometimes wished for a more exciting life. Little did they know that their life would change on a recent midsummer walk through town; A vampirian who was addled by starvation bit them to drink their blood, turning them.

Powers: Flight, bug summoning and communication
Desc. of Power: In addition to being able to fly, Knott is able to sense, summon, and communicate with any bug within a six foot radius, even those that are not truly classified as insects (slugs, spiders, etc.). They can create a psychic link with one bug at a time, which can surpass the initial range of six feet. If a bug Knott is linked to is injured or killed, Knott will feel the same manner of pain the bug felt when it happened, but at a lower level. The bugs usually do whatever Knott tells them to, but not necessarily.

Short Backstory: Chamomiles Mother has been a thorn in her side ever since she could remember. A woman turned vampire, obsessed with turning the rest of her family. Especially her daughter. Because of this, Chamomile has had to stay in the walls of her old family home for a good chunk of her life.

-Personality-
Likes: 1000 piece puzzles, abstract art, homie rooms, her loosey knit blanket, plaid skirts, thick chapter books, glasses, basic astronmy, strawberries.
Dislikes: Wet smells (wet dog, sewage, damp leaves, etc.), open closets at night, knives when they're not being used for cooking/ sharp things, button ups, messy rooms, iron on patches, the sight of blood.
What are they like: Chamomile is kind of a neat freak, nothing like OCD, although she won't allow anyone to rearrange her books. She's punctual and proper but not overbearing, usually her neatness is kept solely to her and her own things. Even with this attitude she does care about the way others see her, especially that of teachers and some of the revered students. She smiles and laughs just like your average person and is a bit of a jokester... Inbetween classes of course. And her favorite thing is keeping to herself and her mind, while still maintaining having meaningful conversation.
Why you wanted to come to this school: Because she wants to learn about the world and the people around her. And it was either this or four more years of homeschooling.

Power: Telekinesis
Desc. of Power:
She's able to use her telekinetic powers on anything in about a 10 meter radius, and is able to lift anything two times her body weight. After that point the heavier the item the more taxing to lift it. Undoubtedly there are some items she can't lift at all. She can't lift people or buildings, but she can lift herself. Usually it feels like a tight invisible ring is wrapped around her waist.
Mainly used weapons: A strawberry patterned cane with a deep blue orb top, if you look closely you'll notice the little stars inside take the shape of a mini milkyway galaxy. The orb will glow with the use of her telekinetics.
Skills: Great upper arm strength and batting practice.

Extra: She has two moles above the left cheek near her eyelid. Every plaid clothing item she has sports strawberry iron on patch.
Outfit Style: Blazers are surprisingly comfy to her. Black, blue, red, almost every color off the top of her head could be matched to the shade of a blazer in her closet. She usually wears overall dresses with them, either striped or plain. Another favorite are plaid skirts, red or blue. She wears those with her favorite black tee-shirt outfitted with a pocket. A staple item for her are these long black cover stockings, she would never leave home without them on.

Short Backstory: Alivette was born to a noble Vampirian family but was hidden away for many years. Being sent to live with her human mother from a young age, Vette began displaying many behaviors of a Vampirian, to which caused concern within the community she resided in. So, upon coming to age, Alivette's mother sent her to VHA. This stirred things up between her mother and her father, whom wanted to keep her away and hidden. Having a hybrid daughter would only cause problems within the Vampirian political world for him, so he fought to keep her in hiding. His attempts were futile though. Alivette made her decision to embrace herself and what she is, to start anew at the academy.

What are they like: Alivette is a wildflower. She keeps to herself and can adhere to any kind of group. Overall if you become her friend, she will support and back you up 100%.

Short Backstory: The Von Stein family was a family that had close ties to the nobles but weren't ones themselves. In other words, the Von Stein family were pretty much lapdogs who do the dirty work for the nobles. They were the ones who made people disappear, people that the nobles couldn't be bothered with. Lucas was the youngest out of four siblings. He and his brothers were trained in combat and espionage at a young age. Lucas's mother died giving birth to him and his father didn't spend much time with them because of work so he and his brothers had only themselves to rely on.

Dislikes {3+}: What his family does, noisy places, noisy and annoying people, places that aren't clean.
What are they like: Lucas likes to keep to himself because growing up, he never really had any friends except for his brothers so he doesn't really know how to interact with others so he may come off as cold at first. He is a logical thinker and rarely gets riled up. Contrary to his somewhat cold demeanor, he really likes dogs and has a white German Sheperd named Amos.

Short Backstory {3+ sentences}: Ruby has always been seen as an outsider in her area, due to her unnatural silver eyes and her lack of a mother figure. Her father decided to see about VHA for schooling, hoping it would provide a better atmosphere for her to learn. During her youth she would play with her toy sword and learned how to fight, moving to real weapons and scythe style tools. Her father would teach her how to shoot a gun in fear of his only daughter being kidnapped for put into a position where she was defenseless.

What are they like: Ruby is a shy girl since she has been bullied most of her life. Valentine Mercier
Age: Appears around 18.
Gender: Male.
Sexuality: Just likes who he likes, finds labels constricting.
Species: Turned Vampirian.
Short Backstory:
He was a farmer's boy before he was bitten. Over the course of a winter month, Valentine would occasionally wake and hear strange noises from outside. In the morning, cattle would be found dead, drained of their blood. Val began to take note of the deaths to try and estimate what night this entity would return for another animal. The next time he awoke to those familiar sounds, he took a knife with him to confront it. Val found the vampire feeding on a lamb in the darkness of the barn. The boy naively chased it out and into the forest, fuelled by determination to slay it.
Things got complicated and it didn't really turn out that way.

-Personality-
Likes: Catnip, night-time, fog, candles, coffins, the moon, concept of snow, rock collecting, fruity smells, humankind, fancy daggers and glassware, historical architecture, oil paints, tarot card readings and taxidermy.
Dislikes: Dogs, as he is afraid of anyone or anything canine related, bright lights, churches, moths, abstract painting, birthdays, children, forests, eating/drinking around people, fire, figures of speech as it confuses him, mimes and fireworks.
What are they like: He's an odd, yet very sullen looking boy who speaks to others strangely. Val may ask odd questions and touch and pick up items he doesn't understand. He's easily distracted, skittish and much like a cat if you move things back and forth it will draw his attention. He will become transfixed and grab at things that do not stop moving. Doesn't understand sarcasm or figures of speech most of the time. Nor does he understand modern lingo.
As a vampire he is surprisingly not bloodthirsty. He's a very controlled and dainty eater, yet does not like to be seen dining. Val does it in privacy only.
However his peculiar personality is not to be mistaken for stupidity, as the male is surprisingly intelligent. Just different. Very deadpan but honest behaviour.

-Powers/Skills-
Shapeshifting
Desc. of Power: He can shift into a number of things, (Animals + People). One being a thin black cat, but he tries not to do it often since he gets stuck like that for a while. Plus it's embarrassing when people fuss over him in an animal form and he can't do much about it. He can still speak, complain, but it doesn't sound very serious when he's running around as a small kitty. Val only uses it to travel, getting into small spaces, or for a nice lazy cat nap.
He's a suspiciously flexible individual, keen senses and lightning fast reflexes. Nimble, lithe on his feet when he needs to be.
When mad or upset, his hair will grow at alarming speed, requiring it to be cut. Hair that has been cut off reduces to ash. Luckily Val is very dull and void of enthusiasm most of the time.
Val also has no healing abilities, but he has a steady hand good for stitching up wounds.
Mainly used weapons: Daggers + Short/thin knives.

Natural Hair Color: Very dark brown, length to his knees.
Eye Color : Dark red, appearing as very dark brown or almost black.
Extras: Has an earring cuff in one ear.
Outfit Style: Much like Val's odd personality, his choice of outfits are similar. Loose silk shirts, black flowy coats or vintage-styled outfits. He does not often wear tight-fitting clothing. Wears alot of black, occasionally white or red.
