Brawl breaks out in Chamber of Ministers following collapse of the DPP

Emperor Metenyanu has already declared the dissolution of the 21st assembly with elections soon

Blows were dealt across the chamber as insults grew out of hand among DPP members

22 December 2022 - 15:22
The Stowaway - Politics

Ornpyat - Far from the news many wish to hear prior to the Teguznorma holiday weekend, conflict has broken out between members of the now former Democratic Peoples Party as temperments flared over a variety of grievances, including the Nakate Bazenye scandal that has followed the party for over five years. The situation was ignited by the recent failure of the controversial industry security bill which showed clearly the division within the party that had been growing under Mugara Yuza's tenure. Yuza had mentioned a course of remanagement was to be expected, however the problems within the party were too far gone for such a thing to have been beneficial. The entire ministerial chamber convened today to discuss the fallout of the national security bill but discussions diverted almost immediately into insults. Yasano Jani had started the conversation over the fears of the state of the party whereupon Kazugaka Chanu remarked on Jani and his mother, leading to a string of insults between ministers and the speaker of the chamber unable to reassert order whereupon blows were traded among ministers as the chamber erupted into total chaos.

"While it's clear you have poor relations with the party, I cannot say the same about my relations with your mother" - Kazugaka Chanu

Peace was not restored in the chamber for almost ten minutes with only the arrival of the police remove those who would refuse to stop otherwise. The Emperor was also brought in following the incident due to the clear severity of the situation. Mugara Yuza, having applied an ice pack to his bruised hand during the speech, admonished his fellow ministers for the behaviour they displayed.

"this was a sickening display I unfortunately had to also participate in against my will, to call myself a minister along with you all today disgusts me"

Mugara then declared his formal resignation as leader of the DPP and notified the chamber of his intent to run a new party apart from his former DPP colleagues. He also requested the Emperor to take immediate action towards the instigators of the violence within the chamber and to dissolve the DPP coalition government and in extension the current assembly, an opinion that was echoed amongst numerous other members of the chamber. Emperor Metenyanu notified the present ministers that it was indeed his intent to dissolve the current government and initiate an election on the first of February with the current executive cabinet remaining in power until then.

The news of these events have not made anybody happy as protests continue over the industrial security bill as many demand the Emperor to expedite the bill and immediately pass it into law, however the Emperor has already stated he intends to remain neutral on the situation until state of the new assembly is found out.

Prince's Mediation Announcement
Renesia will mediate between Galvia and Vojandzeka in Renes

The Prince, Kluas II, has been working behind the scenes to encourage peace talks between Galvia and Vojandzeka and finally settled on a meeting on January 1st 2023, stating, "We are entering a new era of peace for Alutra, with border settled between Gladomyr and Ordrey marking the beginning of the era. Renesia will follow suit and help its friends come to peaceful terms with each other."

Galvia announced that they will be sending Sīmanis Rozītis as their representative, while Vojandzeka will send Nălan Hytovek as their representative.

Since Vojandzeka's independence, Vojandzeka and Galvia have been at odds with each. Their relationship has deteriorated rapidly, which led to the Kalvatăsz Crisis in 2011 and, subsequently, the Kalvatăsz trials in 2019. The Kalvatăsz trials were shunned internationally, especially by Watan, as Galvia executed a Watanese citizen in the trials.

Prince Kluas II hopes to end the conflict between Galvia and Vojandzeka as they are both friends of Renesia; as such, the Prince will lead the mediation efforts personally. The Prince has delegated new year visitation to Chancellor Viktor Osgiliath.

In an exclusive statement from the Chancellor on his thoughts on the mediation effort, "I wish I could be present during this historic moment, sadly duty calls me to be elsewhere at this time". The Chancellor will be visiting Ecoralia, Gladomyr, Salia, Gemurtrak, Higher Tar-dinuu, Ventora and Watan before finally returning to Renesia.

Some anonymous sources suggest that the Chancellor is visiting Gemurtrak this year to assist and advise Emperor Metenyanu; however, there are no official announcements by the Renesia or Gemurtrak. Others suggest that the Chancellor is looking to make a deal with Mugara. Ragners News believe all of these statements to be baseless rumours as there is little evidence to support these statements.

Mediation in progress

irc-pic-png.976571

1st January, 2023 - 09:15
International Renesian Chronicles

Renes - The representative arrived earlier this morning and has been escorted to Rotewing Dome, an annexe of the Vermillion Palace, where Prince Kluas II is waiting. Lord-Protector Berthold Ragner could not make it to the meeting as he is still sick since 3 days ago; however, he mentioned that he wishes all the best for the mediation progress.

Many expect the mediation talks to include Kalvatăsz and the demilitarization of the borders between Galvia and Vojandzeka. The talks may even include freedom of movement between the two nations as a starting point in improving their relationships. Prince Kluas II said earlier today that he would like to see a stronger Central Alutra that is built through unity and not bloodshed.

National TV crews and news reporters from both Vojandzeka and Galvia arrived alongside their representatives to document the momentous day in their respective languages. However, for security reasons no other foreign TV or news crew are allowed except the Renesian Chronicles and the aforementioned Vojandzeka and Galvia teams.

The Chancellor has left today for Ecoralia as part of celebrating the new year with Renesia's allies, and he will be staying in Monstadt for a day before flying to Gladomyr.

The Current Gewalter Erbe, Felix Tyriol, will be meeting with the Royal chamber to develop a plan for next year with the Ministers later today.

New Congress seated, denounces bombing in Renes

Joint session of the Grand Council and People’s Assembly for the seating of Congress

Plenas The seating of the Congress of the Realm, normally a cheerful event, took on a somber tone in this morning’s joint plenary session of the Grand Council and People’s Assembly. The event was overshadowed by the New Year’s Day bombing in the Rotewing Dome in Renes that killed Renesia’s Prince Kluas and representatives to a Galvia-Vojandzeka peace conference.

Instead of the usual speeches by the leaders of each chamber, People’s Assembly President Estrella Flora Toledano used her time to introduce a resolution denouncing “the heinous, cowardly act of terrorism” in Renes. Grand Council Prexy Horacio de Ocoa Evoschato stood and supported the resolution which then passed both chambers in joint session. Such joint resolutions are highly irregular and it is unusual for the Congress to take any action in joint session.

While the resolution itself carries little in the way of responding to the situation in Renesia, it signifies Ventora’s support to its long-time friend and ally. Using his remarks at the Congressal session, Regent Isidro Duarte Arias was clear in offering whatever assistance Renesia needed. “All Ventorans stand with Renesia, Galvia, and Vojandzeka in mourning their loss at this disgusting crime. I have asked the CPC to dispatch people and equipment to help with search and rescue. I have also offered military and police assistance as may be needed by our Renesian friends.” A spokesperson said aid could take the form of manpower and materiel or the expertise of the Gendarmerie or Directorate General for Intelligence.

After Congress recessed, Governor General Ploerio Oquendo Campo y Aiza said, “Renesia has always been there for us and we will be there for them.” When asked about responsibility for the bombing, Oquendo replied it was too early to know and cautioned against jumping to conclusions without having the facts. He also declined to elaborate on any help beyond Duarte’s remarks.

Bombing during Galvia-Vojandzeka Summit in Renes: Celmiņš issues statement

Aiga Miltiņš
1 January 2023

Antonija — Grand Secretariat, Janus Celmiņš
, summoned an emergency press conference following the terrorist attack at the Galvia-Vojandzeka Mediation Summit held in the Renesian capital earlier today. The call for the conference came after the deployment of additional troops to the Galvian-Vojanak border issued by the Ministry of Defence, and the immediate closure of the Galvian-Renesian land and riverine borders for indefinite time.

Celmiņš opened the press conference by sharing his grievances and sending his vocal support to both the Renesian Royal Family and the citizens of Renes. "It is with great sadness and horrifying shock that I offer my deepest condolences to the people of Renesia, as well as the families of all our brother and sisters, whose lives were lost while conducting such a generous and selfless endeavour for our nation and region at large".

The focus of the speech quickly shifted to the issue at hand, and what this incident means for Galvia, as the nation enters into yet another decade of unrest following the Kalvatăsz Crisis in 2011, and its relationship with its two immediate neighbours, Renesia and Vojandzeka. "This government will not stand for acts of terrorism in our region, and will take all available measures to ensure not only that an incident of this magnitude is not repeated, but to also bring the responsibles to justice for their crimes, through any and all means possible". Celmiņš's closing statement is believed to have been a direct nod to the recent Kalvatăsz trials that took place between 2018 and 2019.

Queen Margrieta III delivered a statement shortly after the grand secretariat's press conference. In similar nature to the head of government, the queen offered her condolences in particular to Prince Kluas' family. "I understand better than anyone the sort of grief the Renesian people and Royal Family must be going through at a time like this [...] I implore the people of Renesia to remain strong in this time of sorrow and adversity. Galvia and its people stand with Renesia". The message alluded to the 1989 incident of similar nature, during which the Her Majesty's late mother, Queen Margrieta II, lost her life following the bombing of a local theatre.

The Royal Family has declared a two-week period of grief nationwide and Queen Margrieta III will be traveling to Renesia to pay her respects to the late Prince Kluas II as soon as the borders are reopened.

Kradnavek gives speech after Rotewing Dome Disaster

The President of Vojandzeka has broken his silence after an event which left the nation shocked.

MAZULOT - It was on Sunday morning that a snowy celebration over the New Year in Vojandzeka turned to shock and horror at the news of the explosion at the Rotewing Dome in Renesia. It took place during peace talks between Vojandzeka and Galvia, moderated by Renesian delegates and royals. It was Monday morning that the President of Vojandzeka, Ătsa Kradnavek, finally made a formal statement. Kradnavek, who has been facing severe health problems after a stroke in September, made his first public appearance since early December to address the New Year's attack which left over 67 confirmed deaths, including some highly influential individuals in the Vojanak government.

Reports say that Kradnavek slowly made his way to the stage before making a "very concise" and "scatterbrained" speech to the crowd of approximately 10,000 who gathered to listen to the President's words.
"Thank you everyone who gathered here today to mourn over the losses that we and others have sustained during the bombing in Renesia", President Kradnavek began.
"An otherwise lovely, white New Year has been ruined in the matter of hours at the hands of an as yet unknown terrorist group who claimed over 70 lives yesterday. I would like to assure everyone that these criminals will be caught and prosecuted if they are Vojanak, which personally I severely doubt. The Vojanak spirit knows better than to put death over diplomacy. I wish to give Renesia good blessings in these times of acrimony, and my heart goes to the families of those who passed, be them Vojanak, Renesian, Galvian, or anyone else. Whoever is responsible for this, rest assured that even though the year of 2023 has gone off with a troubling start, we will rise from the ashes like a phoenix, and 2023 will be bigger and better than all years previous. Thank you, and get inside where it's warm." Kradnavek concluded.

The President's health has come under massive amounts of controversy since the beginning of his health decline in September. The President's public appearances have dramatically decreased, and some are concerned that the government is being secretly run by someone else behind the curtains, most probably the Prime Secretary of Didrek Povo. Povo himself made a statement on Twotter yesterday only 20 minutes after the explosion.
"I've heard the news about the explosion in Renesia. Whoever has done this will pay - Vojanak blood is on your hands. More to follow."

Regardless of who is responsible for the attack, the Vojanak government has taken it extremely seriously. Reports state that the amount of law enforcement on the streets has tripled, the downtown plaza was completely shut off, and a scheduled tour of an elementary school by Minister of Education Akădza Nukedov was hastily postponed. Military aircraft have also been activated to secure the skies over the Presidential Palace after a no-fly zone was enforced over the downtown area of Mazulot.

"We are taking the threat incredibly seriously as we do not know who is responsible or what is the next potential target," Vojanak spokesman Poloç Năsăr told APN on Monday. "Renesian authorities have not managed to recover any substantial evidence pointing towards any given person or organization." Năsăr said. After the initial shock concluded, many fingers began being pointed towards the so-called haphazard or reckless security protocols put into place by summit authorities.
"Most modern security systems are able to catch explosives such as C4 and TNT, as were found at the site of the detonation. I believe an investigatory team should be coordinated to look into the evidently reckless security put into place at the Rotewing Dome." Năsăr concluded.

Further investigations into the disaster are to go into effect in coming weeks, as said in an official statement by Renesian authorities. Evidence towards any one party are as of yet inconclusive, though it seems that the Vojanak authorities are prepared to give whoever the perpetrator is their proper treatment, with some vocal parties claiming that Vojandzeka should put their capital punishment policy into effect for the first time since their independence in 2003. Regardless, the entire nation is sitting in anxiety waiting for any sort of evidence to come out of the disaster.

Rotewing Dome Crisis Suspects Captured
SBC News

02/01/2023 16:00 | Staatsburg, Renesia
SBC

As the newly appointed Chancellor Viktor Osgiliath came from Monstad in the late evening yesterday, he took charge of the investigation with the support of the Directorate General for Intelligence and managed to capture 28 suspects, among them the Oberst of the Royal Guards Konrad Körbl, a Renesian-Ventoran citizen who is assumed to be the mastermind behind the bombing. All suspects are currently being interrogated.

The Chancellor said that there might be more suspects that managed to sneak past the Royal Army with the help of the Royal Guards, and neighbouring nations should be on the lookout for these dangerous individuals.

Galvian border security reported that they have managed to capture two suspicious individuals attempting to cross the borders, a Renesian citizen and a Galvian citizen; both will be interrogated and investigated.

The Prince-Regent Felix Tyriol thanked everyone and appreciated that nations such as Ventora, Galvia, and Vojandzeka, for their support and trust in these difficult times and international organizations, such as the CPC and IROO, for their help in managing the crisis.

Official reports from the investigation detailed that SUIA might have had a hand in helping provide the resources and plan the operation. SUIA's Twotter twotted "Revenge for Sátha Ústi!" hours before the bombing took place, and it got over 10,000 re-twoots; however, no other twoot has been sent since.

Update:

17:00 - An official report from RIGID says that one of the suspects revealed that they were part of a plot that wanted to see the Principality turn into a republic, the main target of the bombing was to kill the Prince and the Renesian nobles before the arrival of the representatives and capture the current Prince-Regent. However, the timer caused unintended casualties, and the rapid response of the Royal Army ruined the Plotter's plans.

The suspect also confirmed that Konrad Körbl is the one that he keeps in contact with and receives orders from; however, the suspect doesn't know who else is part of this.

17:30 - On National TV, the Chancellor thanked the quick response and efforts of the Grand Secretariat Janus Celmiņš; by closing the border, he cut off potential escape routes for the culprits. The Chancellor also thanked Regent Isidro Duarte Arias for deploying the CPC and Directorate General for Intelligence to assist in these difficult times. The Chancellor also thanked President Ătsa Kradnavek, Queen Margrieta III, President Estrella Flora Toledano, and Grand Council Prexy Horacio de Ocoa Evoschato for their kind words stating that it helped Renesians stand tall after the crisis, knowing that everyone stands with them.

The Eduran Embassy in Renes has been evacuated of important personelle

01/02/2023 11:00 pm
Adebort Aeþlestan

Following the New Years Bombing of the Rotewing Dome in Renes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was ordered to evacuate all critical personnel. Ambassador Waldo Ðornton, his partner, Ediþ Tiler, sub-ambassador Harold Smiþ, sub-sub-ambassador Garrik Shoumaker, as other diplomats have left the city of Renes.

On new years day, a bomb or bombs were detonated in the Rotewing Dome, killing the Prince of Renesia, as well as diplomats from Vojandzeka and Galvia, prompting international border lockdowns as well as condemnation from neighboring heads-of-state on the terrorists. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eþel Gorb, gave the emergency order at around 11:00 PM yesterday, fearing that the agents responsible would attack members of the diplomatic corps in Renes. When asked for a statement, the Ministry released the following:

For the safety of our personel in Renesia, we thought it important to remove the possibility of harm. As the investigation by the authorities continues, we will redeploy our diplomatic staff as quickly as is safe. We are unable to comment on when that will be at this time.

The Lord-Deemer, his Excellency Jonaþ Þestrelrenþ, released a statement today at 9:00 AM. In that statement, he said:

My administration wishes to condemn, in the strongest terms, the terrorist actions that transpired yesterday in Renes. I wish to offer my personal condolences to the family of the Prince, as well as the families of representative Rozītis and Hytovek, and all those affected by this terrible action. It is my pledge that the Ledewealþ will do everything that it can in order to aide Renesia in the investigation into the tragic events yesterday.

Pundits and political theorists from throughout the country have been theorizing as to what the official policy will be from the Palace of the Republic. Lord-Deemer Þestrelrenþ seems to suggest that the state will give aide to the Principality of Renesia. However, some experts say that recent history shows that Edury will be less willing than other states to turn over blue-shade activists without bureaucratic work from foreign states. Elton Booksman, Loremaster of the Eduvesting Highlearninghouse's political science wing, told the Daybook that while Renesia is a historic ally of Edury, the popular view of giving too much aide to what is seen as an outdated and feudal monarchy may hurt re-election numbers more than most politicians in Edury are comfortable with. As suspects are arrested at border crossings in Galvia, Ecoralia, Vojandzeka, and elsewhere, Booksman and others have said that Eduran authorities may be slower to extradite suspects without extenuous petitioning and exhaustive evidence from Renesia or Galvia.

Other experts have said that while it is true that domestically, being seen to be aiding monarchial and outmoded states will be unpopular, the diplomatic fallout from such withholding would do more harm than good to Edury's international efforts. Silo Burough, a High Fellow of the Internationalist Institute, told the Daybook that the efforts to smooth relations in western East Alutra since the third world war have too much investment for the Lord-Deemer (known as the "Lord Magistrate" abroad,) and his cabinet to jeopardize with ideological posturing back home. A statement by the Eduran delegate to the World Forum, Aodhan Roadman, may shed light on this opinion:

I will be plain for the sake of the understanding of my fellow delegates: Edury's position is that the peace in Alutra is of the utmost importance, and every effort must be made in order to keep it from being broken. It is my personal opinion that the criminals behind this act have the intent to throw the carefully made peace into chaos, and escalate tensions once again to bloodshed in the Serpentine nations and along the borders of Blethic countries in Alutra. I implore my fellow delegates, as well as the diplomatic bodies of all nations, to work towards a concerted effort to maintain the peace that his Highness the Prince was so dedicated to, not only in the memory of the victims of this tragedy, but for all the world.

The delegate's statement was made before the announcement of the arrest of Konrad Körbl, who Renesian authorities have accused of being a blue-shade anti-monarchist. Körbl, a former officer in the Royal Guard of Renesia, was arrested late last night along with 27 other suspects. Renesian authorities have said that the Royal Guard may have acted to expedite the escape of conspirators, and Galvia has arrested two people of Renesian and Galvian nationality. Bookman, consulting the Daybook, said that the fact that members of the armed forces of Renesia- the Royal Guard- are accused of acting against the state and plotting to overthrow it entirely, complicates things. Had they been successful, Daybook said, Edury may have decided to recognize a republican government- however, the failure of the plot probably means deepened support for the semi-feudal regime in Renesia.

Oscar Oselþorp, former colonel in the Eduran army and current security commentator to the Daybook, has said that the failure of the Renesian state to filter out insurgents and ideologues from the martial body tasked with the personal protection of the monarch is a monumental failure and should not inspire confidence in the coming investigation. Unnamed commentators have also said to the Daybook that the fact that the Royal Guard, presumably the martial body closest to the person of the monarch, aiding and abetting the conspirators shows that the Renesian state is perhaps not as stable as is recently believed.

The office of Delegate Roadman has not yet responded to the Daybook for an update on his statement, now that an alleged ringleader has been caught.

Suspects of terrorist attack in Renes stopped and detained at the Galvian-Renesian border

A Renesian and a Galvian citizen are detained after trying to illegally cross the closed border
2 January 2023
by Filips Šekspīrs

Zvanas — Federal immigration officers detained two men -a Renesian citizen and a Galvian citizen- trying to enter the country by evading the border checkpoint just outside the city of Zvanas, Neziņas. It is worth noting that the Galvian-Renesian border has been indefinitely closed for all civilians trying to cross it since yesterday afternoon after an emergency decree made by the Ministry of Immigration and International Development. The identity of the detained suspects has not been yet revealed to the public, but the Delegation of Security of Neziņas has confirmed their nationalities as well as the suspected intention behind the illegal border crossing today.

Only a few hours after the incident, Minister of Immigration, Emīls Žukausks, handed custody over the Galvian suspect to the Ministry of Justice, who has since been transported to the Regional Penitentiary of Neziņas to await trial. The Renesian suspect has not yet been released nor moved from the Immigration Detention Center in Zvanas, where he is believed to undergo further interrogation. In the meantime, Neziņan Secretariat, Jevgeņijs Petrausks, has ordered national borders to remain partially closed and heavily patrolled. "We are confident an instance like this won't be happening again, but we can't risk possible future suspects from successfully crossing the border unnoticed and moving across our country undetected" said Petrausks when asked about his decision to close the Neziņan national border.

It is unclear when and if the government will choose to hand over custody of the Renesian suspect back to his native jurisdiction, but sources speculate that Grand Secretariat, Janus Celmiņš, will try to prevent an instance similar to that of the Kalvatăsz trials with the country's closest ally by moving the suspect back to Renesian custody as soon as the government has finished conducting its own investigation.

Galvia-Renesia border (3).jpg
Galvian-Renesian border checkpoint outside the city of Zvanas

Perceived as a direct attack against the Renesian monarchy following the capture of Konrad Körbl, member of the Renesian Royal Guard and presumptive person in charge of the terrorist attack at the mediation summit in Renes, the Royal Press Secretary and the Commander of the Royal Guard have ordered the immediate relocation of the Neziņan Nobility, as well as the Royal Family, to an undisclosed location. "We are taking any and all available percussions to prevent anti-monarchist crimes of such nature, and the extremist organizations that carry them out, from infiltrating our country and bringing further distress to our region." said Royal Press Secretary, Aivis Ķemere.

In an act of sympathy for the Renesian monarchy, the Ministry of Home Affairs has requested that all flags in the country fly at half-mast, and that all government officials wear mourning ribbons on them at all times during public functions for the following week. When asked about such sudden gesture of solidarity, the minister stated that "Renesia and [Galvia] share a historical and cultural bond that cannot be broken" and that "an attack of such magnitude on Renesia is an attempt at disrupting commonly shared values between [both] nations". This statement, and all government decisions made in the last two days have left many wondering whether this has been a genuine attempt from the government at strengthening its relation with Galvia's northern neighbour, or a mere excuse to further sow monarchist sentiment, particularly, among the younger population.

Sources close to the National Gendarme Investigative Branch and the Godenhaven Constabulary Detectives have said to the Daybook that certain leaders of the Workers Association chapter 406 may have given aide or assistance to the recent conspiracy in Renesia.

The recent tragedy in Renes has rocked Renesia and sent shockwaves through Alutra. The lead suspect, former captain of the Royal Guard Konrad Köln, was arrested yesterday. Other suspects, including members of the Royal Guard as well as civilians, have been apprehended by Renesian as well as Galvian authorities.

The attack on the Rotewing Dome on new years eve took the lives of over 30 people, amongst them including the representatives of Vojandeka and Galvia, as well as the Prince of Renesia, who were all in Renes on New Years day for symbolic proceedings that were to proceed peace talks.

Yesterday, the former Oberst of the Royal Guard, a Mr. Konrad Körbl, was arrested by Renesian authorities, who accuse Mr. Körbl of being the ringleader of a plot within the Royal Guard itself to assassinate the prince and instigate violence which would lead to a republican government for Renesia.

In a confidential report to the Daybook, certain persons close to police authorities in Marshire and Godenhaven city say that the leaders of the Workers Folkmeet Chapter 406, known colloquially as the Students Guild, helped certain conspirators escape Renesia. Neither the National Militia Crimefinders nor the Godenhaven Constable Detectives would give an official statement at this time.

Update: The Daybook is able to report that there have been two arrests connected to the New Years attack on Renes. While the authorities did not name the suspects, it is suspected that they are connected to Chapter 406.

The Student Guild, as it is known, has a large number of students from Godenhaven University as well as other institutes of higher learning from Marshire. The leader of the chapter is usually also the leader of the youth wing of the Workers Association, the Young Laborers. They are noted for having passionate and sometimes controversial positions on foreign affairs, and the chapter is usually considered part of the 'Old Fighter' or Februarist faction of the Workers Association.

Political parties in Edury are run under the 'Folkmeet' system, in which a party will be made up of numerous semi-independent chapters. These chapters often disagree, and party leadership is required to balance the desires of influential and important groups. A person's membership of a political party is through these chapters, and is considered superior to the party itself. These chapters not only organize political action, but also serve as community centers, small libraries, social clubs, food pantries and kitchens, and sometimes even housing.

Chapter 406 joined the Workers Association all the way in 1922, during the formation of the first workers government of Edury following the Workers Spring. In those days, the students who made up the majority of the chapter aligned themselves with the founder of the party, Barend de Boer, but by no means were governable. Since then members have been know. for going abroad to champion Blue shade movements, syndicalist organizations, and anti-monarchist demonstrations around the world, attracting consternation from party administration as well as the government.

Sources close to police agencies have said to the Daybook that the two suspects are to be accused of purchasing express train tickets from Renes to Godenhaven, intended for use by conspirators looking to make their escape. It is not known at this moment whether the train tickets were used for their intended purposes.

A statement from the Constable Secretary of Godenhaven has said:

We cannot comment at this moment as to the nature of the two arrests or the theories in the press about the Students Guild. We are only at liberty to say that two unnamed suspects have been taken into custody for questioning related to the affair in Renes. Please stop asking me questions, I'm just trying to order a bagel.

Daybook pundits and experts have said that if the theories regarding of the Students Guild are true, then the Lord-Deemer and cabinet will almost certainly have the suspects tried in Edury. If conspirators did make it to Godenhaven, our experts say that the Lord-Deemer's administration may be loath to turn any suspects over to Renesia, but assurances that thr death penalty will not be used may give them enough domestic political leeway in order to turn any prisoners over, thus maintaining good relations in the Onse Bay, while not risking political rebellion from their own party lines.

More updates will follow.

Arresting the leaders of a folkmeet chapter is outrageous. The government better have outstanding evidence implicating these people in a crime.

Marshal Law ended

irc-pic-png.976571

4th January, 2023 - 14:00
International Renesian Chronicles

Renes - Yesterday the funeral for Rotewing Dome victims and the Coronation for Prince Felix Tyriol took place. After the Coronation, the newly crowned Prince gave a 20 minutes speech where he mentioned that he will carry the legacy of his uncle and prevent something like the Rotewing Dome bombing from ever happening again.

Today Prince Felix Tyriol officially dissolved the Royal Guards and will be replaced with a new guard undergoing a new system of screening and employment. The Prince also made an announcement that he hopes that supporters of the bombing will receive their rightful and just punishment under their country's law. This is likely referring to SUIA under Kleolaion and Chapter 406 under Edury.

The Prince also removed marshal law and curfews that was in place after the Rotewing bombing; however, the Royal Army is still heavily present in the Vermillion Palace as nobles and mayors came to the Palace to swear allegiance to the Prince and vote for the next Gewalter Erbe. Fern Province has also increased patrols between the Renesian-Kleolaikos borders.

Survivors from Rotewing Dome bombing have recovered, including two Galvians, three Vojanak and a Renesian. The state has fully covered all treatments, and they will return to their home country once they are able to.

The Prince will be the judge during the trials of the perpetrators of the Rotewing Dome bombing, expected to take place a month from now. The perpetrator's family members and friends have also been put under house arrest.

The Chancellor will continue his original trip now that the situation has been stabilized, although he will be skipping to Gemurtrak instead of visiting Edury and Gladomyr. Many assume that the Chancellor is skipping Edury because of the rumours surrounding Chapter 406's support for the bombing, however the Chancellor avoided providing any comments on it.

Two Charged in Connection to New Years Bombing in Renes
05/01/2023 13:02
Two members of Workers Association Chapter #406, otherwise known as the Students Guild, have been charged with conspiracy and conspiracy to commit terrorism. Erich Pretze, and Edwina Campter, the secretary for expenses and the foreign affairs chairperson for chapter 406 respectively, are accused by the office of the prosecutor of having purchased train tickets in order for conspirators in Renes to escape the city to Edury. The press secretary of chapter 406 released a statement saying "These charges are complete bunk. The state must have extraordinary evidence in order to prove that any tickets were purchased, or purchased in such a way that constitutes a crime. We believe that the office of the prosecutor is in collaboration with elements of the governing part of the Assembly in order to make us, who have a certain reputation, the fall-guys for the administration's endevors to become friendlier with regimes that conduct themselves in, frankly, unsavory ways." Both of the accused have plead 'Not guilty'.

Landslides in Asidama leave several injured, stranded

05/01/2023 09:26
Landslides on the main island of Kuguni, near the village of Sonai, have left at least 6 people injured with non-life threatening injuries. The initial slides took place early this morning, around 5 AM, and spread throughout the day to popular hiking and nature tourist areas. Amoungst the injured are Hakurai Santatan, a cousin-in-law of the Forwielder of Edury, Yohn Royce. Hiking trails remain closed as the earth is shored up, and several buildings near the site of the slides have been damaged. Several people at the top of a hiking trail are presently stranded, as the landslides have covered or destroyed the remaining trails down, and helicopters are unable to land in the weather which has caused the landslides. Truly a sticky situation for those who like walking around in nature.

The Ambassador to Renesia, Waldo Ðornton, as well as other evacuated personnel returned to the embassy in Renes today. His Excellency paid tribute to the victims of the tragedy in the Rotewing Dome by laying a wreath and pouring a traditional, sacrificial libation to Vros in the honor of the Prince at the temple in Renes. Ambassador Ðornton said in a statement "I am pleased to be back in Renes, where the important work of rebuilding can begin. I am here to offer what support the Ledewealth can offer to the people of Renesia, in ensuring that justice, fair and just, is obtained in this terrible case." The embassy will continue to screen security in the coming days, but sources from the embassy staff say that the assumption is that there is little risk of violence in the future.

Conscription Bill Proposed in Committee
The Minister-at-Arms has set out a proposed amendment to Edury's conscription law yesterday at 2:17 PM. The proposal would add an option to the slate of choices Eduran citizens have to fulfill their conscription obligations, and may expand the pool of persons eligible for conscription. The proposed amendment would allow citizens to choose a period of time as reservists, and would make this the longest period by far in the slate of options. As of now, conscription in Edury is regulated by the Allmens March Act (1972), which requires all male citizens between 20 and 45 to serve some time in an official capacity, but allows persons to choose how they spend it. Currently, conscripts may choose to either spend 1 year in the military, 2 years and 6 months in the gendarme, called the Folksmarch, or 5 years in the Constabulary Detectives. Of these options, only the 5 year Constabulary period is able to be part-time; those who wish to choose the 2 and a half years in the Folksmarch or the single year in the armed forces must clear all obligations for full-time military service.

Edury Pulls out of Talks to Join Central Alutran Organization
Edury has officially pulled out of talks to join one of the preeminent central Alutran international organizations. This morning at 9:15 AM, the Eduran delegate to the talks, Rohn Tamber, who is also the ambassador to Ochsardvia, announced in a brief press conference. Tamber gave the reasoning as "The diplomatic aims of Edury and the other members did not align in ways which would make joining impractical." Theorists propose that the bloc had asked Edury to commit to policies what would weaken its ties to eastern Alutran nations, which as the republic continues to forward its petition to join the Aarnieu Fraternity, was a non-starter. "Of course, this is all done amicably," said Ambassador Tamber, "All parties involved understand that sometimes these things happen." As talks continued, and it became apparent that Edury would probably not be joining, proposals for a seperate agreement between Edury, Renesia, and Hilnizbors were floated. "Maybe there is a tripartite agreement in the future, maybe there isn't. We shall have to see." is how Tamber responded to questions about such an agreement.

Forwielder Forgoes Far-Flung Foray
His High Honor, Forwielder Rohn Pal, has decided to skip a trip to Yarushire, and then Dincuff, for health reasons, his office says. The trip, which was to showcase the refurbishment of the Ethorton-Thartingham canal, was scheduled to begin next week. The Forwielder, an avid boatsman, was to participate in the trip to host the official grand re-opening of the canal, which the state has put the equivalent of Ꝟ2.3 million into refitting. The canal was opened in 1777, to move traffic from mines in south Yarushire to the north of the province, and thence to join other canals and onto Dincuff in Gladomyr. The Forwielder was to host ceremonial ribbon cuttings at several key locks, and then move to Dincuff, to celebrate the ties between the two nations. Forwielder Pal, who has been in office since 2015, has been suffering from a case of gout, which he got in college, when he drank 77 liters of wine over the course of only 48 hours. He will be taking the time to recuperate, and then will return to Godenhaven for matters of state.

Kentago Geduku announces first major project since successful election

The Stowaway - Politics

Ornpyat - Kentago has shown clearly today an intent of the party to move away from the traditional economics that focused the coastal cities with his declaration of the Imperial Regional Development Project, a series of largescale developments in the Rkown Ortna and Skorn Janpeksu regions. While future projects have only been hinted at, such as infrastructure expansions in Yormuthek, focus was placed on the announcement of a dam project along the Yetes river, the longest river on the Osamian continent. The project would see the development of hydropower infrastructure along the portion of the Yetes within Gemurtrakian territory, offering numerous construction oppratunities for the state of Krazortna to support future industry development Kentago additionally mentioned.

Concerns have been raised over the potential ecological damage the project may impart towards Kwamplik, a nation who relies heavily on the river. "They should not be worried in the slightest, we will ensure the impact of the dams development will be minimal towards the Kwamplik people and we will compensate them fairly should something of a disasterous nature occur in the most unlikely of cases" Kentago commented on the few questions raised on the matter. Public opinion has trended generally positive concerning the matter with ministers part of the Eastern nationalists party commending the announcement as "a great step forward, but is only the beginning of amending the divide between us".

No comments have currently been made by the Kwamplik government.

Forwielder Rohn Pal Dies
Forwielder Rohn Pal, the first head of state of Yoru ancestry, passed away this weekend in the Eduvesting Fifth Hospital. The Forwielder was with his family and passed without pain. His passing is due to complications related to his hyper-gout, which he developed after drinking 77 liters of wine in the span of 48 hours when he was 19.

The Forwielder was the first person of Yoru ancestry to be elected to the highest office in the land, as well as the first Yoru Lord-Magistrate. As ambassador to Gladomyr, Pal used his ethnic ties in the region to deepen relations between the north-eastern Alutran states. Working with his counterparts in Gladomyr, he was the driving force between getting the two nations to begin the process of joining the Aarnieu Fraternity, the intergovernmental block made up of other blue-shade East Alutran states. After a successful career in diplomacy, Pal ran in his constituency of Bramheeth and lost his first electoral bid, but won in his second, as a list-candidate for the Workers Association. After five years as a Burgess in the Great and Noble People's Assembly of Burgesses (EDU: Great and Rightwise Ledemeet of Boroughmen), he launched a bid within the party to be nominated for the role of Lord-Magistrate. He would win the 1990 general election, and spent one term in the magisterial chair. After retiring from politics, Pal would re-enter with a bid for the mostly ceremonial position of Forwielder in 2020, in which he beat his opponent, Alden Smit.

The Assembly will meet today to choose an interim replacement for the Forwielder. The Outlander wishes his family well in this trying time.

Edu-Renesian Scientific Cooperative Announces Successful Fusion Experiment
The Edu-Renesian Research and Development Intergovernmental Consortium (ERRDIC) has announced that their fusion reactor, the Heliotron, has had a successful net-positive power generation experiment. ERRDIC, which has offices in Renes and Eduvesting, has been researching the possibility of fusion power generation for nearly 10 years now, and while there have been many promising results of their research, the experiment on the 6th of May was the first relatively long period of positive power generation.
"It's all very exciting," says the head of the Eduran office in Eduvesting, "In time- the near future, sooner rather than later- we will be able to harness the power of the sun for zero-emission power, with the only byproduct being clean helium." Like every other method of power generation- from coal-fired electrical plants to nuclear reactors- Heliotron is essentially a steam engine. It generates electricity by creating a high-pressure environment in which hydrogen atoms fuse into helium. This creates tremendous heat, which then boils water to high-pressure steam, which drives a turbine. Heliotron, located in [WRITERS NOTE; make sure you figure out where the generator actually is] generated 3.15 megajoules of energy, while only consuming 2.05 on the day of the experiment, which ERRDIC calls an "event."
Otto Kohl, the Renesian political advisor to ERRDIC, said to the Outlander today that "This is an exciting moment for scientific history, for the long friendship of Edury and Renesia, and for the history of humanity on it's long journey to the future. Because of the cooperation here, one day we will be able to meet all our needs without taking a toll on our planet or each other."
The announcement comes at a time where relations have had some strain between the two countries, with certain members of the Workers Association Chapter 406 (called the "students guild") are accused of allegedly providing aide to the assassins of Renesia's late prince, as well as diplomats meeting in Renes earlier this year. Political experts say that this announcement may help to smooth things over, as the two countries work to solve issues faced by both lands. Renesia is a net power importer, and the political winds have made it so that they will not purchase power generated by nuclear fission (the opposite of Heliotron's nuclear fusion generation.) Edury is a power exporter, but its coal fired plants are becoming contentious in the nation. The Worker's Association has been critical of nuclear power, and its close ties to the coal miner's unions have meant that its plans to phase out coal generation are gradual and slow. The Other Party, however, is traditionally all for nuclear generation. The premiere of the Other Party, Hugh Hughson, has said that if they win the election in 2025, by 2030, the last coal-fired power plant in Edury will be closed. Fusion power may be the solution to both nation's electric woes- if its problems can be sorted out.

As by-elections near, Other Party eyes diplomatic discourse
As Edury, along with Gladomyr, continues forward in the country's joint bid to join the Aarnieu Fraternity, the intragovernmental organization currently made up of Ordrey and Lathadu, the Other Party has started making overtures to what may be placed by Edury on the negotiating table. Several by-elections are scheduled for this month, and while the premiership of the Workers Association is not threatened, the Other Party is poised to gain considerable footholds in the Assembly.
The Provost for Foreign Affairs of the Other Party, Ethel Hergenton, has laid out hints as to what her party may seek. It has been said by certain political experts that the Other Party will seek control of the diplomatic overtures, in return for agreeing to not throw wrenches into the Worker's Association's domestic agenda for the rest of the year.
"As Edury and Ordrey are both power-exporting countries dependent on coal," Hergenton said in an interview, "It would be beneficial to all involved if we laid out an east-Alutran wide plan for what the world looks like after fossil fuels." It is speculated by some that this means the Other Party wants Edury to formulate a framework within the AF to promote and regulate the nuclear industry- with Hugh Hughson, the leader of the Other Party, having vociferously come out in favor of building thorium reactors.
"We are also conscious of the economy," Hergenton said, "Right now, the Taken is tied to the value of the Vatupic Dollar. But some have wondered that perhaps there's a different way of doing things. I can safely tell you that the party is not interested in decimalizing our currency, or letting it float- nor are we interested in a so-called "Fraternal Dollar", as some have said. However, we believe that a Fraternal Standard may be a good idea- a ratio that all members would peg their own currencies to, and either alert the other members when they wish to change that rate, or perhaps even have it go to a vote. We shall have to wait and see."

Taqadan authorizes deployment of 30,000+ troops; Riyata about to invade Agarad?

05/17/2023 2:07 pm | Citana, Riyata
Sera Alqide for The Citana Sun

This morning at 10:30, War Minister Talo and representatives of the Office of the Regent General delivered a joint statement to the Imperial Diet in Citana, informing them that they had authorized the deployment of over 35,000 personnel from all four branches of the military to Agarad. According to Minister Talo, more than 400 troops were already en route, and the Mirote IX carrier task force will be redeployed to the Agar coast from its current Kidal posting later this year. Taking into account the around 9,000 peacekeepers already stationed in the country, the deployment, which is planned to finish by the end of the month, is set to more than quadruple the Riyatic military presence in Agarad to a level unseen since the First Agar Conflict. The announcement comes on the heels of another alarming mobilization earlier this month, when Chancellor Taqadan announced that he was placing approximately 126,000 service personnel in Riyata and allied countries on accelerated readiness. The Chancellor, like other major world leaders in recent years, has not made it a secret that ending the decades-long conflict is high on his list of priorities. Riyatic involvement in the civil war was a major talking point of United Riyata’s platform during the 2022 election, and Chancellor Taqadan has previously lambasted the DAP administration for kicking the figurative can down the road. Although it has been involved since the start, Riyata has not undertaken any large-scale military operations in the almost 50 years since the conflict began. The few direct military interventions that have taken place have been mostly defensive and always restrained, with the sole exception of the famous 50-day Operation Roadblock in 1987 to establish the neutral International Zone.

Having wrestled a five decades long control over the federal government from DAP, United Riyata has already made the most of its new government quadfecta, taking a radical departure from previous Riyatic foreign policy. While the DAP’s foreign policy platform has more or less stuck to principles of hemisphere isolationism over the decades, preferring to turn a blind eye to the world bar Vidina except for the most important issues, United Riyata has successfully captured the new, globalized spirit of Riyata’s youth. Notable figureheads of the movement, especially during the 2022 general election that appointed the current Diet, have made bold, impassioned, and sometimes wildly antagonist statements in the foreign policy sphere. Representative Taqa’s famous speech in 2008 calling for “death to tyrants” and “destruction of dictatorships” has seemingly been gradually adopted into United Riyata’s official platform, albeit not with such aggressive delivery. Experts almost universally see the young, dynamic, “no-compromise” attitude of United Riyata as dangerous and volatile, and criticize the party’s platform as wildly idealistic and unrealistic. More and more, it appears that Chancellor Taqadan sees a large-scale, direct, and decisive military action as the only path forward.

Obviously, such a strategy is extremely risky. Although the Riyata-aligned Agar JF holds the most popular support within Agarad itself, its support internationally is limited to Riyata and its allies. The two other major factions in the war, the Republican Front and the monarchical loyalists, are also supported by nuclear-armed powers, and any large disruption of the situation in Agarad could threaten the postwar peace of the great powers since WW3.

Chancellor Taqadan’s deployment of troops is nominally to “expand the peacekeeping mission,” but the sudden decision and accelerated timeline of the operation makes this stated purpose difficult to believe. The number of Riyatic troops in Agarad has remained relatively stable for around a decade, never increasing or decreasing more than a couple hundred personnel at a time, so the scale of the deployment is highly unusual. One motive could be to deter further escalation of the conflict by Haksarad, which has itself drastically increased military readiness over the past year, but such a large deployment of troops itself constitutes a massive escalation on Riyata’s part. The decision has already been lambasted internationally, with World Forum Secretary-General Pimentel decrying it as “perhaps the most reckless action by a world power in decades.” Several ambassadors have also delivered letters of complaint to the Office of the Regent General in Grana. The Cabinet press secretary is expected to make a statement later this evening, but other than that and the original announcement, no senior government official has made an official statement. The members of the Imperial Diet seem to be as in the dark as the public is; a number of representatives and electors across all political parties have commented that neither chamber had been made aware of the deployment authorization before the public announcement. While military mobilization does fall under the jurisdiction of the executive branch, many legislators have expressed concern over the lack of communication.

The question seems to be on everyone’s lips: is Riyata about to invade Agarad? Between the hundreds of troops departing for Agarad as we speak and the over a hundred thousand ready to deploy at a moment’s notice, the country is closer to war footing than ever before in contemporary history. As it is currently, Haksar Regent General ha-Mussafi’s escalations of the previous year have been conclusively dwarfed by this month’s announcements in Riyata. It remains to be seen how much farther the situation will escalate and whether or not it will lead to a reintensification of the Agar conflict, which had until last year been stagnant in a relatively peaceful period. In the worst case scenario, direct and meaningful Riyatic support in a renewed phase of the conflict may very well be the spark for a wider international war. As General-Secretary Pimentel states: “let us hope that hotter heads do not continue to prevail.”

VTC recognizes JF as official Agar government, brings motion to World Forum

06/12/2023 5:44 pm | Grana, Riyata
Sera Alqide for The Citana Sun

GRANA – Chancellor Taqadan and Regent General Al Deta on Monday, along with other Vatupic leaders, issued a joint declaration recognizing the Jarader Forces as the official government of Agarad, undoing almost 30 years of Riyatic foreign policy. After the 1987 Turquoise Palace bombing, Riyata withdrew its recognition of the Agar Rukhulate government and has, until now, refused to officially recognize any of the other factions as the legitimate government. The decision, passed by a majority vote of Vatupic states, means that the Vatupic Treaty Community now formally considers the JF government as representing all of Agarad on the international stage. A motion has also been brought onto the floor of the World Forum, urging it to switch recognition from the Rukhulate government to the Jarader Forces.

“Today we finally recognize what is right,” Taqadan said at the public announcement in front of the World Forum headquarters in Grana. “The democracies of Vatupaya are together committed to the fact that the source of all political power is the people. For five decades the Agar people have made it clear that the illegitimate Agar monarchy no longer commands the trust and support of their country. This is nothing but an acknowledgement of the people’s reality.”

The VTC makes its decision in the midst of rising tensions over the war-torn Harrimi country. Just last month, Riyata greatly expanded its military presence in Agarad in response to large-scale Haksar militarization last year. Recognition of the JF may be a sign that these escalations are about to increase drastically in scale.

After the joint declaration, Al Deta made a short speech of her own, criticizing both the previous DAP administration as well as the international community for their inaction in Agarad. “For far too long, leaders of the world community have chosen to sit back and let mindless bloodshed and destruction determine the fate of Agarad,” she said. “The democracies of the world have failed the Agar people. While dictators, tyrants, and terrorists spread their influence across the world, we have done the opposite, made drunk and complacent by our treasured freedom and wealth. Today, I am proud to say that Riyata rejects this ideology of inaction. We must not be afraid to say that democracy is right. To shout evil when human rights are broken. To end injustice where we see it. The Agar people have suffered for forty-six long years because of the indecisiveness and self-doubt of the free world. Now, Vatupics take the first step towards creating a freer, safer, democratic Agarad. I call upon the World Forum, and all democracy-loving nations of the world, to join us.”

Muralilin - On the evening of June 12, Prime Minister Lurar declared recognition for the Jarader Forces, the faction in the Agar Civil War seeking a moderate Jarader republic, as the legitimate government of Agarad in his weekly speech to the population.
Tar-dinuu has recently sought more independent foreign policy, evidenced by the 2022 remilitarization initiative designed to decrease reliance on foreign allies for defense, but disrupting its international relationships remains an undesirable situation. Riyata is the kingdom's largest economic partner, and its primary military ally through the Kidal Protocol, so a close allegiance to the Vatupic nation is a priority of all elements of the Tar-dinuuen political landscape. The prime minister expressed this point in his speech, declaring that “[Riyata] came to our support in our time of need, during that era of fear that the Salians brought us. Now, it is our mission to do the same. For Riyata, for the Agars, and for ourselves.”
The ideals of democracy and the defense of human rights also were central in Lurar’s address. Prior to the civil war, Agarad had been ruled by the absolutist Ruhkhulate. After the civil war most factions, such as the theocratic Zulqarrakin and the deep-blue Republican Front, continued to represent this authoritarian ideal. However, the Jarader Forces and their conservative republican ideals are believed to demonstrate the sole pathway towards a democratic peace in Agarad. Lurar stated that “too many petty warlords buoyed by foreign imperialists enslave the people of Agarad, and the once great Rukhulate has proven itself to be no more than one of them. If the Agars are to find their path to peace, it will be the one lit by the Jarader Forces.”
Prime Minister Lurar also drew allusions to the insurgents in the occupied territories in southern Tar-dinuu, calling the Zulqarrakin and the Rukhulate “very reminiscent of our own demons, the terrorists and warlords that continue to defile our own soil.” Such strong rhetoric towards the southern separatists from Lurar is unusual, though he later reaffirmed that there would be no change in foreign policy towards the occupied territories.
The leader of the Tar-dinuuen Ecological Party also stated that no decisions on concrete action in Agarad had been made yet. However, he heavily implied that the recently expanded Tar-dinuuen military would be available if Riyata sought aid.

Internal response to the decision has been mixed. The National Democratic Party and the remainder of the governing Coalition supported the Prime Minister. In fact, Representative Telenaril of the NDP stood beside Lurar during his speech, emphasizing their increasing political allegiance. However, other political actors have been less approving.
The League for the Defense of Tar-dinuu, while officially affirming support alongside the rest of the Buffist opposition parties, has reportedly experienced infighting over the subject of foreign policy. Representative Radlan wrote on the social media platform Dulilin that the recognition of the Jarader Forces is nothing more than “another in a long line of decisions made for no other reason than to show our submission to Vatupic snakes.” She also stated, "Every time [Dinuuens] have trusted a foreign empire, we have been betrayed. When will we stop offering our back to every crocodile with a knife?”
There has also been blue-shade opposition to the decision. The widespread protest movement that continues to grip Tar-dinuu has incorporated the recognition of the Jarader Forces into its anti-government rhetoric. Some activists have begun branding the foreign policy declaration as an imperialist measure, meant to draw the kingdom further into the “global system of exploitation”, according to one anonymous protestor interviewed outside of the Edmuralin. Aligned with the protesters is Coordinator Maltri of the Kidal Islacentrist Party. Alongside their concerns, Maltri called the Prime Minister hypocritical for “rallying around the global system of imperialism to oppose terrorists and warlords overseas, while supporting and even arming such entities just across our borders”. Maltri references the Tar-dinuuen state’s alleged support for proxy groups to combat the insurgents in southern Tar-dinuu. The Coordinator also condemned the Lurar’s supposed “zealous desire to massacre the Republican Front, the only truly democratic faction in [Agarad]”.

Polling data has not yet been gathered, but analysts generally predict the recognition of the Jarader Forces is not likely to improve the Tar-dinuuen Ecological Party’s popularity.

Assembly Appoints Interim Forwielder
The Great and Rightwise Ledemeet of Boroughmen has appointed Wiserth Wentset as the interim Forwielder, to serve out the time left in the late Rohn Pal's term, which ends in 2025.

Wentset is the former Seldman (or chairperson) of the national railway administration of Edury, introducing the 6 Taken Ticket three years ago; this weekend ticket which cost 6 Takens, or 12 Vatupic dollars, allowed any person access to the entire national rail network over the weekend. Following his tenure at National Rail, Wentset spent 6 months as Linesmaster in the cabinet of Lord-Magistrate Brundun Redshaw, before leaving to take a consulting position in Ta'aroha.

Wentset will be sworn in as interim Forwielder on Wednesday.

Eduran Foreign Ministry Puts Out Feelers for Support of Riyatic World Forum Proposal
The Outlander is confidant to report that the Foreign Ministry, or Outlandsmastery, is subtly probing the possibility of getting its allies to support the resolution regarding Agarad, put forward by the Riyatic Delegation.

Eduran cabinets have been traditionally mum on the topic of the ongoing civil war in Agarad, without publicly offer support to any of the three primary factions, although in recent years the Eduran delegation to the WF has tried to get the international body to commit to action, even if its not been definitive in regards to which group to support. However, with Edury and Gladomyr lobbying to join the Aarnieu Fraternity, in addition to several up-coming by-elections, the office of the Foreign Minister, Scaftnoth Marley, is looking at Riyata's proposal as an opportunity.

Talking to several sources, which asked not to be named, Marley's Foreign Ministry is pushing several ambassadors in the Alutran region to see if they'd support Riyata's proposal for the international community to recognize the Jarader Front, or the JF, as the legitimate government in Agarad. There are several hurdles to this proposal reaching fruition. In the Jarad region, Haksarad- the largest power and traditional claimant to the throne of the 'regent of God', a Jarader title- has recognized the Ruhkalate as the legitimate government, and given material support to this faction. Marad ha-Mussafi, the Regent General of Haksarad, has even been seen in public with the young so-called Ruhkul.

Closer to home, Ordrey, the traditional leader of the Aarnieau Fraternity, has been vocal in its support for the Republican Front, the blue-shade anti-monarchist military faction in the three-way civil war. According to the Outlander's sources, Outlandsmaster Marley has been clandestinely approaching other Alutran foreign ministers, particularly those of Lathadu, Ecoralia, Salia, and in particular Gladomyr, to support the Jarader Front's claim to legitimacy and Riyata's proposal. By shoring up local support for the motion, Eduran interests in joining the Aarnieau Fraternity will not be jeopardized by supporting a motion contrary to Ordrey's aims. Thus, Edury will not only be able to still push through its application while pursing its own goals, but if the Outlandersmastery is successful, it will show that the Eduran Foreign Ministry is able to throw its weight around.

The Eduran Foreign Ministery has chosen to support the Jarader Front for a few reasons, according to the sources. Marley, a member of the ruling Workers Association, has pursued anti-monarchist sentiments internationally, but only sparingly. The Workers Folkmeet has been seen historically as willing to be more pragmatic than ideological in its foreign relations. Thus, the Jarader Front's nonmonarchist stance allows it to go to the domestic voting base- traditionally not super into supporting states in which monarchs still wield appreciable power. The Jarader Front also enjoys popularity both domestically and internationally, being generally the more endorsed of the three factions. This fulfills the pragmatic aims of the party, being that if the JF is put in power with Eduran support, a regime in the region will be in power which Edury will have some brownie points. Whereas the Republican Front enjoys more popularity with Eduran people, and the Other Party's support, the recent Riyatic support for the JF makes Marley believe that the RF will not be able to sustain a government, should it triumph in the civil war, as it does not have the same international support. This also brings Edury closer to Riyata, a traditionally ambivalent power in Vatupaya.

The Outlandsmastery responded to the Outlander's request for comment with this: "Godamn you, you bastards."

Third National Cake Competition Causes Culinary Chaos
The Third National Cake Competition has resulted in 37 people being injured after a flour-related explosion. A train carrying 180 tonnes of cake flour derailed near the competition, covering three propane-fired ovens in the stuff. What followed was the aerated flour igniting, and exploding in a fireball seen up to 200 kilometers away.

Somehow, there were no deaths.

Celebrating a Century of Rebirth!RevPraxis png.png
The Reborn Velorenkan Arekh is nearing the 100th anniversary since constitutional ratification and founding. To commemorate this historical occasion, Forwards! News journalist Aoral Berrakh interviews the children of the Old Revivalists to get personal and firsthand accounts on the lives of those made the Arekh what it is today.

From Aviator to Supreme Leader's Bodyguard:
The Life and Experiences of Musayel Lhondorys, Best Friend of the Lazh
Part I

|16/06/2023| Novinkhan Commune, Fyodithesir Sadhrav, R.V.A.
Aoral Berrakh

Novinkha is the quintessential Velorenkan city. The capital of Fyodithesir, it’s urban landscape where the divide between the Old Regime and the Reborn Arekh is very clear. Large boulevards flanked by gaudy and white neoclassical edifices in the city center clash with the speed and dynamism characterized by Khosravist Era futurist architecture in the city’s outer districts. Strolling through the downtown area I am bombarded by postmodernist monuments and art pieces supplemented by alleyways and storefronts that are coated in decades worth of public street art. Sitting in a coffee shop patio across from a deco era cooperative grocery decorated with an eclectic mix of 1940’s Arekh propaganda posters and much newer local graffiti I await my contact.

Avel Lhondorys is a retired aviation senior warrant officer of the Grand Army and Civic Syndicate pensioner where she worked as a librarian. For the purpose of my interview however, she is the last surviving daughter of Musayel Lhondorys, a close confident of Lazh Khosravi from her early adventures in the Republican Air Arm to the historic March on Saint Yazdoikakh.

“Good morning, Citizen Berrakh, you wish to learn more about my mother, yes?” With a little effort she slides into the seat across from me and flags down a barista, ordering black coffees for the two of us. She lights a cigarette, extolling the health benefits of a single cigarette a day with morning coffee. When our coffees get to us, I begin my interview.

“You know Velorenkans don’t realize today how much of an important occasion those early female aviators were. My mother and the Lazh entered an entirely new field in 1911, one that had yet to have solidified gender roles. They loved flying because it didn’t matter what’s between your legs, but the skill of the pilot.”

Then, Captain Raes Khosravi and her Lieutenant Musayel Lhondorys were part of the first Republican air units in the 1910’s. The pair were trailblazers in their own regards besides simply being female aviators, setting several distance flying records and demonstrating the combat potential of aircraft by swooping low and tossing hand grenades out of their cockpits onto dummy targets. Such actions won them much acclaim and promoted them to celebrity status during an era where the sub-passionate had few things to celebrate.

“Having been a chopper pilot (she flew reconnaissance helicopters for the Grand Army in the 1960’s) I now understand why them getting kicked out of the Air Arm, well, made them so damn mad. Why it turned them onto the path towards rebirth.”

Khosravi and Lhondorys were dismissed from the Republican Air Arm in 1914 following complaints they had leveled against several commanding officers who were responsible for widespread sexual abuse on female subordinates.

“My mother would often tell me how lost and broken she was without flying, yet here was her Captain, defiant and outspoken, declaring that if the government wouldn’t let her fly, then she’d get one that would,” she lightly chuckles, “Well my mother sure didn’t know what that meant at the time.”

After their dismissal Khosravi and Lhondorys would find themselves at a local pub outside Serrayove where a small crowd was gathered listening to a political speaker.

“My mother has told me this story over and over again. Here was this man, standing atop a soap box in a monotone voice rambling about the need for new leadership, passionate leadership, and all of that. Yet he was so boring, everyone just sorts of nodded along half asleep. Well...Khosravi stands up from her seat, beats her chest and declares, “Sir I agree that the Veloren people need passionate leadership. But they don’t need someone who is passionate about lulling them to sleep”. “

And so began Khosravi and Lhondorys journey with the All-Veloren National Passionist Party, then a meager Pan-Veloren republican organization of 3,000 members.

“That man, who I believe had some sort of high standing in the party, then challenged her to a debate on passionart philosophy. Surely, he thought this hot-headed woman didn’t know what she was talking about, how dare her and all that.” She gives a dismissive wave of her hand, “By all accounts Khosravi soundly gave him a thumping, and the party leadership, impressed by her charisma and dictation, invited her and my mother in.”

Joining the Pan-Veloren political circle would introduce Lhondorys to an eclectic mix of characters responsible for the development of future Supreme Leader Khosravi and the Revivalist ideology.

“Of course, back in those early days they were still republican. More equal and accepting given the Passionart aspect of that party, but still believers in the system as it was. I believe it wasn’t until they meet Makhsim Starik that really opened their eyes.”

By 1916 the All-Veloren National Passionist Party had grown some, given Khosravi’s oratory skills and pseudo-celebrity status. Lhondorys acted as her bodyguard and personal secretary, the former position especially important given the street battles between buff and blue organizations that were the epitome of the ineffectiveness of Veloren Republican governance. It was trade unions congress where the pair met and interacted with legendary poet Makhsim Starik, who at that time was riding the peak of his popularity. His books had been best sellers both within and outside the republic and articles he penned in any newspaper were sure to sell them out. A fellow subscriber to Passionartism, he had been incensed by the youthfulness, speed, and violence of the underground futurist movement. He was also a rapid womanizer and taker of all things narcotic or psychoactive.

“Mother loves to talk about Starik. He was a small, unassuming balding man. Yet he had an intoxicating effect about him, and fierce eyes. He was one of the most popular men back then. And he was interested in this Khosravi character. This woman, a pilot and an aspiring politician? And people listened to her.” She scoffs and extinguishes her cigarette, “It was a major ego boost for Khosravi that is for sure.”

Makhsim Starik introduced them to Psilocybin mushrooms, which at that time were extremely novel. He claimed they were used by the ancient Elyrians to communicate with their pagan gods and contribute to the unlocking of the human soul.

“That time with Starik had a profound affect on Khosravi. You know, there is that old warrior’s quote, “seeing the elephant”, well after that time Khosravi had seen the elephant. She had seen the truth and couldn’t go back. She was convinced that the republic, society, everything around her was corrupt. It was decadent. Tearing everyone apart and spitting them out. She was already determined to make positive change for everyone. Now she was determined to rebirth the whole damn nation…” She gives a faint smile as the barista tops off her cup “And my mother was determined to stick by her side through the whole damn thing.”

Pashwari Liberation Front comes to agreement with Agar JF

06/18/2023 2:12 am | Citana, Riyata
Sera Alqide for The Citana Sun

TBD, the official spokesman for the Pashwari Liberation Front, delivered a statement in CITY yesterday afternoon, announcing that the separatist group is joining the Jarader Forces and intends to fully integrate with it by the end of 2025. For over thirty years, the unrecognized Pashwari Republic, located in southern Agarad, has fought a bloody war of independence against the other factions of the Agar Civil War. The Pashwari people, who live in southern Agarad, are the largest minority ethnic group in Agarad, constituting around 7% of the total population. The PLF, which has officially existed since 1989, seeks to create an independent state in Pashwar, TBD, and TBD provinces, which are majority-minority provinces with relatively little Manuak population. Perhaps contrary to its formal name, the PLF is supported by not only the Pashwari people but most minority groups in the area. The proto-state it has established, the Pashwari Republic, has remained relatively stable since its formation, and, although it is not recognized by any country in the world, is the only faction in the civil war that has already implemented civilian government over its entrenched territory. Although it has cooperated with the Jarader Forces in the past, the PLF's declaration of allegiance further expands JF's strength in the country. Currently, the Pashwari Republic represents more than 240,000 armed personnel, 190,000 square kilometers, and a population of 23 million people.

Since 2007, the PLF and JF have been unofficially allied in the civil conflict, though the Jarader Forces have never recognized the Pashwari Republic as a separate country. The two factions have only come into conflict two times; first during the 1999 TBD Offensive in Pashwar Province and second in the 2002 Lake TBD campaign. Since the Lake TBD campaign, a ceasefire has existed between the two, and they have cooperated against southern loyalist remnants in recent years.

Although Riyata does not officially support the PLF, it has been sympathetic to its cause in the past. A major policy objective of Riyata in Agarad has been rapprochement between the JF and PLF, as both have compatible ideologies and base their legitimacy on popular support. To this end, one of the major conditions for Riyata's increased support of JF beginning from 2009 has been non-aggression against the PLF.

During his speech, TBD stated that the primary reason for the new alliance was a shift in PLF leadership and the "democratic brotherhood" between the two factions. In early 2020, the PLF declared after an internal power struggle that they would be willing to reunite with a democratic, federal Agarad, which would alleviate most of the faction's primary concerns driving separatism. Although the Jarader Forces have been hesitant to back a push for federalism in the country, it appears that they have caved on the issue. Beyond that, it is unclear what the specific terms of the agreement are. TBD went on to say that "...we are not Manuak, but we are still Agars. We will continue to fight for the independence and sovereignty of the Pashwari people, but we will do so as a proud and sovereign people under the banner of Agar democracy. The Jarader Forces have committed themselves to this and have received the international support of the world as a result. It is clear now that there is only a single path to a democratic peace for us."

INTERNATIONAL CAPITAL AND GRANA NEO-IMPERIALISTS PASS NEW PLAN TO SUBJUGATE AGARAD: WORLD FORUM NOW VOTING
revpraxislogopng.png

|18/06/2023|
Citizen Enora Jareon

Citizens! Passionate Toilers and Freedom Loving Persons of the World!

The circling vultures of International Capital and Vatupic Sub-Passionate Democracy are once again sharpening their knives, hungry for the new nation and peoples that they shall transform into a neo-colonial buffet to gorge themselves on. Yesterday the World Forum Committee on the Agar Civil War approved a measure that will see to the forced imposition of minority rule upon the toiling and ever struggling Agar populace. The measure: which calls for the World Forum to deploy paramilitary and so called “peacekeeping” forces to Agarad to forcibly ensure a “secret, free, and complete referendum” is nothing but blatant neo-colonialism.

The twin neo-imperialist vultures of International Capital and Vatupic Sub-Passionate Democracy believe that democracy is truly free when it sprouts from the barrel of a gun. Delegates who voted in favor of the measure had the gall to claim that the World Forum would be acting in the best interests and upholding the principle of “self-determination” for the Agar people. Even a toddler can see through this lie. How can the Agar ethnos be truly self-determining their future if foreign mercenaries and International Capital are pressing a bayonet against their back and demanding that they vote?

Since 1977 the Agar ethnos have been fighting a revolution for the soul and fabric of their nation. Their very own Crucible. The world has watched since the 1970’s as separatists, authoritarians, terrorists, and sub-passionate democratic proxies have torn the Agar nation apart. The only savior of the Agar ethnos has been the Republican Front: an eclectic union of passionate, revolutionary, and liberty loving Agar armies. The Reborn Velorenkan Arekh and our close partners in the fraternal noyonist Commonwealth of Ordrey have provisioned these freedom fighters with much training, modern arms, and experienced advisers to build a popular defense force of the people. Moreover, thousands of liberty loving peoples from across the Blue world and elsewhere have heard the plight of the Republican Front and fought as volunteers. However, the champions of freedom and passionate republicanism have seen their advance halted as the Vatupic cabal spearheaded by the Neo-Imperialist State of Riyata impose their will via their proxies in the Agar Jarader Forces.

Yet the Republican Front has held firm and the line of progress and liberty has yet to be crossed by the forces of neo-colonialism. That is until now. Frustrated by the slow crawl of their forceful takeover of the Agar ethnos the Neo-Imperialists headquartered in Grana are attempting a new approach via the World Forum.

This is the current situation the Agar populace finds themselves in. The Agar Republican Front continues to stubbornly clutch the torch of liberty which has yet to be extinguished by the constant deluge of terrorism, authoritarianism, and neo-imperialism. Not to be out-down, the clique of neo-imperialists and sub-passionate democracies within the World Forum Committee on the Agar Civil War passed this new measure. This despite fierce objections from the Arekh’s observer to the WF and several other like-minded delegates, including Haksarad. The forced referendum is currently being voted on by the whole World Forum. If this measure passes it means that the serpents of neo-colonialism will have given themselves a blank check to impose their will and finally strangle the Agar ethnos into submission.

It is the belief of this author that liberty loving people everywhere ought to let their voices be heard. The Agar people have bled for decades in the pursuit of the principle of revolution and freedom. It ought to be the duty of likeminded individuals to take to the streets and demand their governments make the right decision in the World Forum. To my fellow Velorenkan citizens, I encourage you to demonstrate your revolutionary responsibility to the cause of national rebirth by exercising your right to protest. To my international readers, I ask you do what you can to aid the steadfast revolutionaries and freedom fighters in the Agar Republican Front.

"The Motherland Speaks!

THUS IS EXTANT
THUS IS ORDAINED
A TRANQUIL PEACE
IN LIBERTY
BORN AGAIN!"

OPERATION GLYPTIC
Transmission 4-3-3, Designate: ISKIOIS
MOSS team imbedded in
Baalbeck, Agar Republican Front
Objective: Ferment Anti-JF Sentiment

0500|21|06|23

The driver tapped his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat of the latest Haksaradi pop hit he had blaring from the truck’s radio. The shotgun seat passenger too nodded his head in tune with the music while smoking a cigarette. Taking a puff, he peered through the window at the sun that was just begging to rise over the destroyed city of Baalbeck. Like any urban center in Agarad, the ruins of a multi-decade civil war spanning generations were evident. Building debris and trash lined the road, likely dating to before the trio in the truck were born. Behind the duo vibing to the music their backseat driver nervously fidgeted with his seatbelt and tried to enjoy the music.

After turning down a side street lined with a pack of very mangy and mean looking dogs, whose owners likely were long dead or gone the truck arrived at its first checkpoint. The Republican Front soldiers manning the barricades looked haggard and slouched while they smoked their cigarettes, likely having pulled the nightshift and have yet to be replaced. Their Velorenkan supplied rifles were lazily slung over their shoulders. A soldier with sunglasses and a flashy red beret which denoted him as the checkpoint’s leader approached the driver’s side door as the loud music from the truck quieted down. Though he was also clearly tired of duty this one at least pretended to try and hide it, casting a glare at the truck’s occupants, he pointed at the 15-gallon drums stashed in the truck bed.

“What do you have back there?” Flashing a smile the driver responded to the question, “Cleaning chemicals for your barracks, very strong-smelling stuff. I can show you.”

An arched eyebrow appeared over his sunglasses, “Papers.” The driver complied, handing forth three sets of documents which were all in order. After giving them a cursory shuffle through sunglasses handed the papers back. “Show me.”

Getting out the driver took the time to momentarily stretch before climbing into the truck bed. Procuring a crowbar from the truck bed he paused before prying open the lid. “Like I said friend, these are very strong smelling and very messy. I wouldn’t want to get any on your uniform.” Sunglasses was in no mood and sternly repeated himself. With a shrug the driver pried open the lid, contents from the drum splashed onto Sunglasses who let loose a stream of expletives. This elicited several chuckles from the soldiers at the checkpoint.

Still cursing Sunglasses desperately attempted to pat the cleaning agent off his uniform with a handkerchief and irately wave the driver off. Getting back in the truck the shotgun passenger would turn up the music and the trio would once again be on their way.

As the truck neared the Republican Front barracks complex it’d take a different turn that would direct it onto a bath towards Officer housing. These were destitute apartments with little luxury, but overall, an improvement over a bombed out one. They truck would be parked in a side street adjacent to the officer housing, which coincidentally was also where their wives and children lived. After once again turning down the music the trio would step out of the truck and head to the truck bed. The side passenger would clamber up onto the bed and carefully handing down a 15-gallon drum sand saying to the driver, “Smart move in spilling the stuff.”

“Thank you Major, I learn from the best.”

“You flatter me, now let’s get to work captain.”

The Major from Velorenka’s Main Office for Strategic Services (MOSS) was no architect, but he knew a thing or two about maximizing explosive damage. Given the situation Agarad was in there was no way of obtaining blueprints for this apartment, so he had to direct the placement of the three 15-gallon drums in the way he thought most effective. His subordinates, a fellow captain from the same intelligence service and an Agar patsy believing he was working for a special intelligence unit of the Jarader Forces diligently and cautiously planted the drums. They were loaded with explosives MOSS had obtained via the extensive Agar black market that could link them back to the Jarader Forces. Given the abundance of garbage and sorry state of affairs a couple rusting 15-gallon drums wouldn’t be noticed for long, but they were quickly concealed with refuse for safe measure.

Once the drums were stashed the trio would load back up into the truck and pass through the same checkpoint as before but with new guards, who diligently waved them through. The trio drove in silence with no bobbing to music this time as they exited Baalbek. The Velorenkan Major would cast a glance towards the rear passenger, the young Agar who believed he was conducting a clandestine attack on an RF barracks and not an apartment full of innocent families. His hands were shaking, and his eyes were glued on the window back towards the city. Getting his attention the Major would flash a reassuring smile, “Relax kid, you did great. This will be another step towards unification and true freedom.” The dupe tried at a brave smile, but the Major’s words didn’t help much. After several more minutes of driving they had have arrived at the rendezvous point just as a faint explosion sent a distant plum of black smoke up above Baalbek.

A reliable colonel in the Republican Forces was waiting for the trio with a pair of technicals with mounted machine guns. The backseat passenger went from anxious to alarm but the Captain in the driver’s seat reassured him as the Major exited the truck to converse with the RF colonel. After a brief exchange of words and the passing of a thick manilla envelope the Major shook hands with the RF colonel which was the signal for the captain to exit the truck as well. Left alone inside the truck the young brave Agar who believed he had delivered a crushing blow to the RF began to question just what the hell was happening when a burst of automatic fire ripped through the truck and into his leg. Without time to process that he had just been shot he was ripped out of the truck by heavily armed RF soldiers, leaving behind a trail of blood.

With the transaction complete the Velorenkan Major and Captain got inside a simple beat-up SUV the RF colonel had provisioned them and left for the comfort of their safehouse. The opening salvo of Operation Glyptic, the Main Office for Strategic Services’ clandestine mission to destabilize Agarad to prevent it’s take over by the Riyatic backed Jarader Forces had been fired.

MAJOR IED TARGETS RF FAMILIES IN AGARAD: JF LIKELY RESPONSIBLE

Citizen Fyodith Ahemen reporting out of Agarad

In Agarad the Republican Front (RF) controlled city of Baalbek was subject to a tragic IED bombing that claimed the lives of 35 and wounded an upwards of 80 Republican officers and family members. Emergency services are still conducting search and rescue inside the ruins of the RF officer family housing, which saw its western half brought targeted by explosives. Among the dead are 7 children under the age of 16. These types of terror bombings which indiscriminately target civilians are a common tactic of the Zulqarrakin, a group considered by the Arekh and much of the international community to be a terror group. However, local Republican Forces now believe the Jarader Forces, puppet forces loyal to Riyata, are responsible for the senseless bombing. After a brief gunfight that saw a suspect wounded and the others fleeing, Republican Front troops apprehended one of the orchestrators of the bombing. The other two bombing accomplices are on the run and believed to be fleeing back behind Jarader Force lines.

Local RF troops currently refuse to release the name of the bomber apprehended, who claims to be a member of a clandestine unit within the Jarader Forces (JF). The Agar Republicans further state that the bomber was arrested with documents and materials definitively connecting him to the JF.

The bombing in Baalbek comes at a historic time in the evolution of the Agar Civil War.

The World Forum (WF) is currently voting on a resolution that may see to the imposition of a nationwide referendum in Agarad. This referendum, which was heatedly contested by the Arekh observer to the WF Azel Lykhan and his Haksarad counterpart was previously approved in committee before general voting. Despite objections and protest from a plethora of the international community, the deformed republics and paleo-monarchies of Vidina have closed ranks, meaning there may be a majority of votes to pass the resolution. If enacted this resolution would see to the forced imposition of the rule of minority upon the Agar majority by World Forum arms and troops.

In addition, the Pashwari ethnic-supremacist and separatist Liberation Force has recently agreed to unify with the Puppet JF. An Arekh intelligence analyst source told Forwards! that the agreement between Pashwari supremacist forces and the JF was likely directed by the Riyatic government. “No doubt with the WF resolution looking like it might pass, the neo-colonists are seeking to shore up their legitimacy for the Agar nationwide referendum”. In regard to the recent bombing itself the analyst remarked that "the deliberate targeting of Republican military officers' families bears the hallmark of an operation designed to sap morale for the war effort".

The recent bombing in Baalbek, however, may change things. The JF has long claimed to be the rightful government of the Agarad nation and further claims to not target civilians, despite evidence to the contrary. The bomber’s connection to Jarader Forces throws a wrench into this carefully cultivated international image. A local colonel in the RF forces who aided in the apprehension of the bombing suspect told reporters that “It’s clear to us in the Republican Forces and the average Agar what the JF have long been. They are traitors and terrorists to the revolution and liberty. This indiscriminate and tragic bombing will hopefully open the eyes of the international community to see the JF as we see them.”

The Office of the Arekh Foreign Commissariat released a brief statement in response to the bombing. “The Velorenkan people will continue to stand in solidarity with the true expression of national self-determination and freedom that the Republican Forces embody. The suffering of the Agar people weighs heavy on the minds of the Arekh Passionary Governing Council. We are looking at all possible solutions to buttress the Republican cause and ensure eventual victory for passionate democratic forces.”
