Age:
22

Race:
Human

Affiliation:
Pro-UEF, but she understands and sympathizes with Antiunionists' cases.

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
Bisexual

Theme Song:
Hi.

Appearance:
Valeria is a sand-tone skinned, mildly muscular woman. She stands at 5'6 and can be often seen wearing light clothes that allow her to move quickly such as drindl skirts, loose blouses, jeans, working boots and coats. Her hair is a wavy, brownish tone that she's just starting to grow longer from her usual bob. Her eyes are pretty much the same color and her face is mostly notably by a small roman nose and semi-thick eyebrows. Although a slightly unnatural look, her hookshooters add a little caricaturesque width to her hips.

Birthplace:
Guadalajara, Mexico.

Profession:
Builder-Technician

Psionics or Cybernetics: 20m Femoral Hookshooters
A femoral hookshooter is a technological device seen in people who work in the care of tall structures. It consists of a prosthetic integrated into a subject's entire upper leg with a retractable disk on the outer part which, when activated, can precisely launch a wired hook that can connect to metallic materials. It is usually employed to help the wearer abseil or secure a position, but it can also pull them in the direction where the ends land. It is regulated by neuronal impulses and works as an excellent mobility tool, but if it runs out of power or get its magnets uncalibrated, the whole system has to be manually operated in a very impractical way that might turn them almost entirely useless in a fast-reaction situation.

They can be integrated on either one or both legs. Veronica has two units.

Character Skills/Flaws
Character Skills:
  • Major Skill 1:Acrobatics
The combination of studying dance and using her prosthetics has made her very dexterious around her agility. Valeria can easily rappel and climb most structures and she posesses a strident flight instinct.
  • Minor Skill 1:Analytics
She's an avid reader and passionate researcher. If given time and resources, it is easy for her to domain any theoretical matter that's presented to her whithin a short amount of time.
  • Minor Skill 2:Machine handling
She knows a lot of technological employment at user-level, circuit maintenance and hardware accomodation.
  • Minor Skill 3: Songbirding
Valeria can whistle extremely loudly and has a wide range of tones she can do with her vocal chords. This is mainly a party trick with some animal impressions, but it serves her for some practicalities.

Character Flaws:
  • Disadvantage 1: Stress Exhaustion
She tries her best not to lose her temper in a tense sitation, but once she does, it'll take her a while to recover.
  • Disadvantage 2: Dual Recovery
Asides from the neuronal links, femoral hookshooters need specific types of maintenance that other smaller bionics don't. This machinery requires external charging and part replacements every so often and Veronica has to spend a lot of time on it when it comes to be so.
  • Disadvantage 3: Stubbornness
It's hard for her to let go of a preset of ideas. Convincing and arguments can only do so much good; certain situations require her to hit a wall a couple of times before she changes her mind.
Personality
Fears:
Aliens, violent death and harsh betrayal.

Optimism vs. Pessimism:

It is in her mentality to be optimistic. Not out of a rejection of negativity, but a refusal to accept no-win scenarios and an impulse for looking for any opportunity that a situation can present.

Introvert vs. Extrovert:
She can be described as an ambivert. Valeria has passed a lot of time appreciating her own peace and privacy, but it has never been outside of her interests to strive and actively look for connection.

Justice vs. Mercy:
Although Valeria can be caring and forgiveful, she holds everyone to a standard of justice that she tries to be detached from.

Feelings on the Union:
She sees the Union as a positive thing; the federalization of human governments under common organization seems to her like a sound choice with the threat of aliens and the possibility of separatism, but she knows firsthand how unhindered centralization can damage people. This leads her to see reason on the antiunionists, but she still believes panhumanism is the way to go.

Common Mannerisms:
*She stretches a lot.
*When bored, she will often look at her arms or hands and move them to see how each articulation bends.
*She tries to hide her augmentationts either with her arms or clothing if she feels ashamed or self-conscious in public.

Interests & Hobbies:
Literature, classical music, robotics, different apple drinks, languages.
(Consuming and studying)

She also likes dolphins (a lot, you've no idea). There are lots of pictures of them ramassed in her posessions.

Overall Personality:
Valeria is a thoughtful and dutiful person, but she can slip on being self-aware. Her life has amply consisted of changes, so she's grown to be adaptable and selective with the things she does. However, it is on the interest of this very trait that she can retreat easily from things that harm her; being reliant on her intuition keeps her at a lot of inner-peace, but it can relent her to be bull-headed.

She's a short-term planner and, asides from her phobia towards extraterrestrian lifeforms, she tries her best to be a good person.

History
History:
The platform's rapid construction was allowed by Earth's technological prowess, but given that malfunctions on the electrical wiring and quick attempts to patch specific sections of infrastructure were expensive to invest a lot of machinery in, human operatives were brought in for these tasks. Most were to be performed under very difficult conditions where the risks of death spanned from paralysis to Tha'Kar attacks in the more isolated segments. Nevertheless, it was a lucrative exercise that attracted labor.

Veronica was born in a family of said builders and technicians. She grew in a Mexican metropolis until both her father and mother (a couple of technical engineers) participated in a program to work on the platform's Transit Line: a railway that would connect all major sections of the habitable area and its future expansions. She recieved a formal education thanks to the her parents' work and was a skilled student for most of her schooling. She had a particular interest in dance and reading (practicing both to a notable extent), but in the middle of her last high school year, her father was attacked by a Tha'Kar wanderer and, though he survived the injuries, the Transit Line direction dismissed him on a low remuneration after he was called as unable to stay in service.

Having little options left given that her mother's earnings alone could not allow her previous expenses, Valeria rushed through her senior year of high-school and looked for jobs to perform. However, low-skill employment was rare in the platform; automatized services were increasingly common. It is so that, after some time of discussion with her family, she made her way into tech-buliding.

Although security imporved over time, Valeria was very worryful about having a similar incident to her father. It was out of this state of mind that she made her way (hesitating until she made her way to the operation room) to invest on augmentations to ensure that she would remain safe. These proved useful in a variety of ways, but they turned to be more of a working tool that came at the cost of a part of her body. Now lacking a previously held sensitivity, Valeria grew a profound sense of otherness towards her machine parts. Her relationship with this choice swindles between a pragmatic convenience and, on occasions, a cutting loss.

She grew as a valuable worker who has managed to stay away from assault, but the growing fear of not being able to assure her own safety motivated her to quit her job in hopes of finding something else to do. She hasn't been successful yet and is still a builder, but she's been getting a clandestine income by delivering packages and messages on her own, privately and anonimously.

She currently lives alone near the edges of the habitable area, close to one of the platform's unbuilt hemispheres.

Yas.

Already some ideas. Would she ever get involved with any military missions for pay or is she strictly staying in the platform now and doing more civilian stuff?

If the cash's good, she'd be in. Still, there are some things she would be selective with; The gal would normally deliver low profile materials, after all. That is to say, airplane ammo would be off-limits lol.
