"When you exit the Pokémon Center, you take a right and pass two houses. The third house is the one you will need. It's a bit larger than the others and has a small sign on it indicating its goal. There's no garden to the side, they are purposely kept inside to make sure they do not get abused further, or get scared, or lash out." As the nurse had finished giving out direction, it felt as if a stern breeze blew through the room abruptly and naught but air was left where Guy had once stood mere moments ago. He however, had not simply stopped existing, even it may have appeared that way at first given the sheer swiftness of the departure.

One could easily hazard a correct guess as to his destination as they could hear the door close with a soft thunk, a sound followed by hurried footsteps. Clearly, if anyone was going to have first dibs then it had to be Guy. Hopefully he'd not bump into anyone on his way over as he'd most likely be jogging, if not outright sprinting on his way to meet these new Pokémon! Of course he didn't mean to be rude with how he ended up leaving the Pokémon Center without a word, it just sort of happened. Then again it would be far from the first or last time Guy's body had sprung into action, seemingly of its own accord.

The Chansey Rowan spoke to merely nodded as if she was indeed the one he -wished- to speak to all along, giving him an excited "Chansey!" in response. This nurse had an odd vocabulary, truly!

Those gathered outside would already be able to see a somewhat different-looking house to their right, just a bit away. A small wooden fence to the left of it, but it wasn't being used, as the nurse had foretold.

The house was more run-down than all the others, barely keeping together and empty bags of Poké Beans tossed beside the door. It couldn't be helped, really, when a place took care of so many unfortunate Pokémon.

But for now, the group that had gathered at the entrance of the Poké Center waited for those still inside. The air was cool and comforting, the silence almost made it seem like nothing had ever happened. But they all knew something had.

Despite the early hours, they could see some citizens walk from their homes or into other buildings, likely on their way to work.

If someone kept their eyes on the building they were supposed to head out to in a moment, they would see a young man rushing through the doors- holding a bundle of a blanket in his arms. A muffled shout was heard even from their location, before the house fell silent again. A new arrival, perhaps? It was likely numerous Pokémon were in need of help after what happened the day before, after all...

But within a mere minute, perhaps seconds, those outside felt air swoosh right past them. The young man that had been so excited about getting Pokémon, charged past them!

Tai, with others in tow, headed out and towards the run down and rickety old house.
If this was the outside of the Pokémon refuge- then what the hell would she find on the inside. Eerie silence cascaded across the town and Tai thought back to the peaceful morning before the attack on her own city. Seemingly, chaos was just about everywhere in Kanto.

It was at this point that a bundle of blankets flew past them, in the arms of a younger man(Who looked rather stressed).
A few muffled shouts could be heard- but Tai was not close enough to hear it.
Curiosity then struck and Tai found herself moving forwards, after Guy of course, who had flew past her and the others with such speed. He must have been intrigued by the man carrying the blankets too.
Either that or the promise of a new Pokémon had been far too tempting.

The frail redhead felt her luscious locks flutter past her cheeks. The one positive part of her lack of make-up... her hair didn't stick to her usual lipstick. With a set of narrowed eyes she looked at the flying bullet speed past her and a few of the others, the cause of the sudden gust of wind.

She wasn't in as much of a hurry. To be honest, Lyn was used to being able to influence people by mentioning her family, or possibly pay money to get what she wanted. Thus, she casually paced onward. Dressed to impress, with non-matching cheap sneakers squeaking across the cement-path.

A true vision of grace indeed.

Then, another quickened her pace to follow the overly-energetic man. Malyna for one moment thought to look over-shoulder to see where the last three were, but then shrugged. Why did she care? So her eyes once more focused on their shared goal, seeing the young man already reach the door and the woman follow suit.

...This did not look good. Rickety fence, worn wood framing the house and tons of trash at the front. Malyna pulled her nose up in disgust as she neared the shelter.

ROWAN FALCON

After all the tragedy and darkness that befell them it felt good and almost nostalgic to be with a group of individuals searching for their first pokemon. Although everyone wished it were under better circumstances it was nice to get lost in it all. Like the others, Rowan made his way to the shelter. He tried to maintain his patience, but his body betrayed him. His steps were a bit long, his pace a bit quick. Even still there was someone faster...wayyyyyyy faster. Rowan laughed, reminiscing how times seemed so simple when you were a kid. Rowan was excited too. Part of him wanted to bolt after the track star; however, he wanted to savor the moment. A moment apart from the fear and terror of reality. Being the kind of person that he was, simply seeing and studying the pokemon was enough. His mind ran through so many scenarios. Maybe the shelter would run out when they got there. Perhaps the only had magikarp....that would be weird. What if-

By the time he finished his internal interrogation, he realized he was now at the shelter...rickity fence and all. Rowan was more concerned about the condition of the pokemon in such an establishment rather than what kind of pokemon he would be able to receive. Rowan eventually shrugged his shoulders, concluding that if pokemon could survive without a shelter, they could definitely survive with one even if it was a bit worn. Rowan found himself picking up the trash around the building without thinking; it was the kind of person he was. Littering was a big no no, and no pokemon of his was going to get tangled up in junk on their first day. No, no, this simply won't do.

Guy continued his mad charge toward the promised land of Pokémon in need. The worn down state of the building and the rickety fence doing very little to dissuade him, after all, it just made the building appear that much more lived in. Lived in by Pokémon no less. The bundle of blankets carried by the young man seemed to only fuel his speed and excitement, after all, a whole bundle of them meant that they were either required for many Pokémon or one big, bighuge Pokémon.

Eager to discover the truth of the matter, he pulled to a screeching halt in front of the doors, barely able to stop himself in time before his hands latched onto the handles, pausing for a brief moment to take in a deep breath, preparing himself for what was to come, before aiming to pull the doors open and reveal what lay within! If this was some kind of trap or set up, he'd had fallen hook, line and sinker for certain.

First one stormed in, then another- followed casually by a third and fourth. Two of the group were missing, but then again, they weren't -really- a group to begin with... or were they group bound together by circumstance?

Rowan found a few bundled bags of emptied Poké food, soiled bedding and more. Just by the look and feel of the amount of trash they had, it was clear that there were many Pokémon in need to be taken care of and perhaps the staff was overwhelmed. The help the man gave was sure to be appreciated, if and when the staff would find out he did so.

Once people trickled into the shelter a little bell tinged beside the doorpost to announce their arrival. In the shape of a Miltank's portrait with a square bell hanging from its neck, it looked worn but quite adorable.

Guy, Tai and others that entered would be surprised to find that the inside of the shelter looked far better- cozy even. While the outside had seen better days, the inside felt like a simple but comfortable farmhouse. It was a single large room, floor laid with tiles and walls coated in a simple beige paint-job.

To the left there was a small corner kitchen, a door to what was likely to be the bathroom and a set of stairs to the second floor. But what was far more interesting... were the wooden structures that occupied most of the big room. Like large cages, they were lined and coated with comfortable bedding, food, drink and other special necessities for some of the Pokémon. In most of the little cages, they could see some kind of form present! But what they were was unclear. A semi-transparent film had been placed around the wooden structures, likely to cause the least alarm to especially frightened Pokémon upon new people arriving.

But there were two Pokémon not in their own little cage-homes. A little Petilil sat on its leafy bum, watching a Goomy calmly playing with what seemed to be some kind of abbacus. Using its goopy form to stretch out and move them to the side, then the other side. They seemed to be conversing with each other in a jolly fashion, giving nothing but "Peti!" and "Gooo!"

But the sweet and calm atmosphere was soon disrupted by two voices in the kitchen. A young man held the bundle of blankets, and elderly woman opening the blankets up and nodding silently. She eyed the group a moment, giving them a strained smile, before taking the bundle from the young man.

"Tend to our guests, William. I'll handle this little one."

Surprisingly spry for her age, the woman rushed up the stairs. The man now known to be 'William' spun around so quick it made him dizzy for a long moment or two. He cleared his throat, putting on a smile. His attire was a little muddied.

"Good morning! Are you here to possibly adopt? If so, feel free to visit the little cages. They are protected by some film to not disturb the Pokémon too much, but you should be able to see at least what Pokémon it is. If there is a specific type or Pokémon you are looking for, let me know! Please don't take out a Pokémon before we come to assist you though! I'll make sure you can meet any Pokémon you are interested in."

Hearing the mentions of their clothes, Kazimir stood and shifted to find hers. Only wincing a little at the slight singes and tears in her cardigan. She held it in her hands, cradling it silently as she mourned the loss, throwing it in the bin and mentally wiping a silent tear away. It was a sad day indeed.

The sable haired woman turned at the sound of Sam’s voice, her lips parted in thought before sliding into a teasing smile, “I’m going, you can’t get rid of me that easily.” She was excited, but she hoped that’s he’d come too. “You're coming too right?” Kaz asked, voice now doubtful as she cocked her head gingerly to the side. Everyone else seemed to have left though, her face fell. She'd had the childish hope that perhaps she wasn't going to be left alone for a little while, at least not until she'd gotten over everything that'd happened. It was a stupid thought now that she looked back on it, but she wasn't mad they'd been eager and left. There was always time to catch up and she was ready to leave, her bag slung over a shoulder and her laces hastily tied.

Judging by the amount of trash he had collected outside of the shelter. Just how many pokemon were rescued exactly? If he could, Rowan would probably take them all and teach em how to survive in the wild...actually, they would probably teach him a thing or two. Rowan walked into the building after the others and observed the surrounding area. "Talk about not judging a book by its cover," Rowan muttered under his breath. It was probably a good thing they didn't overspend to keep up appearances; after all, it was truly the inside that counted in matter such as these. An unfurnished shelter with broken appliances would do more harm than good even if it looked like a palace at first glance.

Upon further inspection he became just as entranced as the Petlil, watching the Goopy master the abacus...although calling it a master might have been a stretch. His trance was interrupted by the man with the blankets. Rowan could have sworn he had seen the man before. Oh well, he must have one of those faces. Before long, Rowan remembered that he was here to adopt a pokemon when they were finally addressed. Rowan stepped forward and scratched his chin as he thought about what pokemon he would want. He didn't have a specific one in mind since it was too difficult to choose between all of them. "..Uhhh...something that could handle the various trials of a forest. You see, I'm a ranger....in training. So something of that sort...kinda like that Petlil over there." Rowan said pointed at his previous point of interest.

Despite initial expectations of the building, Tai was pleasantly surprised.
The inside was clean and almost homely. Much better than the Pokémon centre. Two Pokémon moved freely across the tiled floor, which made Tai happy.
Even though neither Pokémon type was part of her path- she enjoyed the little Goomy. So much so that she bent down to greet him- carefully of course.
'Hi little guy' She spoke softly as played with his little toy.
Tai then smiled at Petlil too. Why had she never gotten a Pokémon before?
If she were ever to be a successful Gym Leader, she would need a partner.

Patting her cheeks to ensure to she wasn't blushing too hard, Tai cast her eyes across the room and was almost startled when a disturbance began in the kitchen.
It almost reminded her of home- cleaning out the gym. It had mostly been silent, with the occasional kafuffle.

Rowan then stepped forward to respond to the man who had addressed the group(He had also shared a moment with the two Pokémon alongside Tai).
However, Tai did not budge, opting to stay on the floor with the two Pokémon.
After Rowan had spoke, she casually mentioned she wanted a fire type- but still looked at the clever little Goomy.

The Goomy slowly flopped beads across the abacus when multiple people turned their attention toward her. Its goopy makeshift limb dribbled down to the ground. Goomy's little beady eyes looked at Tair for a long slow moment- until it seemed to not care anymore, attention swooping back to the immensely entertaining abacus.

Unlike its friend, Petilil did not take to the intruder near them too well. She shuffled with a ruffle of her leafy form, rushing to run behind one of the big wooden beams holding the roof of the farmhouse up. Not even daring to peek around the beam.

Malyna stayed silent, tapping her chin as she waited impatiently for the other two to ask for the Pokémon they wished to see.

"..Uhhh...something that could handle the various trials of a forest."

The man smiled broadly. It was clear he appreciated Rowan's line of work in training. Immediately and with enthusiasm, he nodded to him and then to Tai.

Malyna cleared her throat, pitching in almost demandingly. "A Pokémon with a good head on its shoulders, who can protect me and who has capability for beauty."

"First off, the Pokémon fit for a Ranger. We have Petilil over there, then we have a Cutiefly, Wurmple, Yungoos, and a female Nidoran. Whichever of them you'd like to meet, you just let me know!"

"As for fire Pokémon... they are more rare. But lucky for you, we do have a few currently! We have a Tepig, Litwick and a Numel."

"Thirdly... a little more difficult to decide! I can only give what I think you may be looking for... All of those combined perhaps would fit... Our Voltorb, Poochyena, Tepig, Snorunt or Nidoran."

With patience, the man awaited for any of them to mention a Pokémon they'd like to meet, or perhaps multiple! Of course, the travelers were also welcome to choose none of the Pokémon available- but they likely would later have to rely on others to get one...

Malyna stayed silent, tapping her chin as she waited impatiently for the other two to ask for the Pokémon they wished to see. Her ugly sneaker tapped on the floor in clear irritation.

Tai stared back at the Goomy for a little while, before it lost its interest in her and carried on with the toy it had.
Turning her attention back to the younger man, who told her of the Pokémon they had, she began to think carefully.

Having only really been around the Kanto region, she had not really gotten to know any of these Pokémon that had been saved. She knew that each were dual type, rather than solely fire- but nonetheless, she knew any of them would be the start to her journey (whatever that meant).

Tepig would have been an obvious first choice, considering its affiliation with fighting, which linked naturally to Tai's boxing background. However, Tai was becoming a little sick of predictability and fighting. Secretly, she wanted something she could nurture into being amazing. A Pokémon who would defend her but also one that would naturally allow her to return the favour. A ghost- fire type would most likely not allow that. She had always remembered her brother telling ghost stories and not one of those Pokémon seemed the 'friendly' type.

Her choice was made.
'Numel please, I would like to see Numel'.

Adopt a Pokemon at the Pokemon Refuge, don't shop.

------------------------------------

Sam trudged after the excitable gang of Saffron refugees with yet another cigarette in-hand. He'd had his fair share of run-ins with Pokemon in the past thanks to his years in the Kanto Military of Defense so the whole idea of excitement wasn't as it used to be. After all, he'd learned the hard way that Pokemon were just as annoying and self-entitled as children, no matter how cute they were. That and he'd had enough experiences of getting his ass burned or zapped from an irritable partner or two. "You ever have a Pokemon partner?" He asked Kaz as they walked. His eyes had been watching the other refugees in the distance, but now they'd taken interest in Kaz's method of shoe-tying. She'd soon fall on her face if she didn't take a hot minute to fix the ties.

"They definitely demand more responsibility than a little, old cat." The man mused, tossing the fresh stub to the ground in front of him only to stomp it out as he passed over it. That smoke had calmed her nerves more so than the previous smoke, but he couldn't help the idea that a drink would do him much better. A thought he almost spoke allowed.

The passerby of people gradually became more frequent as he pressed forward, and then he caught sight of a rickety fence. It was accompanied by a house that had surely seen better days and a yard that needed some desperate attention as well as affection. That's a shelter? Sam paused a moment at the base of the fence before offering a silent shrug and heading on in. It was a much more welcoming sight inside the shelter rather than outside. Sure, the shelter was cramped from what he supposed were structures for sheltered Pokemon, but it didn't look as small or as worn down as the exterior. In fact, unlike the outside, it looked "homey," comforting. Definitely a nice change from the Chansey infested Poke Center.

It was then, with the bell overhead signaling his arrival, that he overheard someone ask about fire types. The species that a woman listed off instantly caught his attention. Fire type was most definitely his favored type of Pokemon, and he would have gone for the idea of a Tepig if he hadn't almost experienced what it felt like to be a marshmellow. That and the bar with the Charmander... no thanks. So he walked a few steps further into the shelter, standing off to the side of Tai as she requested a Numel. A fire and ground type... ground was a good type to go with, but as his gaze settled on the Goomy, a Pokemon that he wondered must either belong to those who ran the shelter or it was just so relaxed that it didn't need a little cage or house, one of the last species to be listed caught his attention. Hmm, a female Nidoran? Poison and ground type... that would definitely be out of his norm, but anything sounded better than psychic types.

He didn't word his decision though, instead waiting as he turned to look at the others that had arrived before Kaz and him.

Humming to softly to herself as she walked, Kaz followed the trail of the others contentedly. She stared blankly at Sam and his posed question. “Can’t say I have.” Her reply was curt, she didn’t appreciate the cigarette in his hand but didn’t dare complain. Being inconsiderate wasn’t on the agenda for today. That didn’t stop her from following his judging gaze resting on her shoes. They really were a mess, she was treading on one of her laces from her half-assed attempt of tying them. Her own stubbornness thwarted the mere thought of bending down and fixing them, especially now it’d been noticed. Though her attention quickly shifted back onto the thought of Pokémon despite her near falling. “They’re like kids, little babies.” Kaz added on softly to Sam’s comment, cooing from the thought of cute Pokémon, only cringing a little when he threw the stub to the ground and stood over it as they walked. She turned to raise her brows at him, a little unimpressed, but said nothing again.

Kaz found herself eying the shelter as they neared. It certainly looked lived in. She couldn’t say she wasn’t entirely nervous though. The thought that inside may be rugged Pokémon that matched its kinda weathered outside made nervousness flutter in her chest. But when they entered Kaz felt instantly relieved, the interior was more comforting. More than the unfamiliar Pokémon center had been. Listening in on the Pokémon listed, Kaz frowned, thinking to herself. A Poochyena. A loyal companion wouldn’t do her any harm. That didn’t stop her eyes from trailing to the Petilil she saw hiding when she entered. Her head nodded silently, relating to the little creature. Then she glanced at the Goomy, smiling silently as it moved despite the goop unnerving her. Wanting to see what the people who’d came beforehand asked for, she stayed quiet. Kaz didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes.

ROWAN FALKNER

It was decided! Rowan had a spark in his eyes after William rattled off the names of many pokemon that would suit him. They all had a certain appeal to them, and he knew them well. A niddy, a goosey, a cutie, a wurmpy, or the lily...which one would Rowan choose as his first companion. No matter how hard he thought about it, he could not forget the shyness, or terror that the Petlil displayed. Maybe because it seemed as if it would be a challenge to raise a pokemon…..what is that annoying tapping sound? Rowan turned to the source of the constant thud resonating in his ear...of course it was Malyna. He turned to her, subconsciously looking at her feet, as she tapped away. Was someone holding her up? Did she have to use the bathroom? She most definitely had to use the bathroom; it was the only logical assumption. Maybe she wanted to choose a pokemon that badly, but that didn't look like the face of someone eager to have a companion. He didn't like to judge others but..., "Hey, I'm pretty sure they have a bathroom here, I can ask if you want," Rowan said with a goofy smile unaware that his good intentions might be the death of him. He quickly turned back to William to announce his decision.

"I'll take the Petlil," Rowan said turning back to William as he did his best to see around the beam. If nothing else, it was great at hiding, pretty fast too. It's personality was intriguing to say the least; however, to him it was a symbol that directly opposed the horrible events that had just recently happened. He could only hope that he would raise a strong, caring, and....a somewhat brave pokemon. Rowan turned to the otherRowan inquired as he took a few more steps toward the beam. He didn't want to give the poor thing a heart attack, but he was just too excited. After hearing Tai announce her pokemon as well Rowan nodded as if to say great choice. That's when Rowan turned to the stragglers who just made it to the shelter. "Was wondering when you guys would arrive, I've already got mine...sorta (as soon as I can get it to come out of hiding)."

Guy listened intently to the man as he went about stalking the sides of the cages, eager to get a look at each and every Pokémon, to the point where he was squishing his face and cheek against the aforementioned film that was there (thankfully) for the Pokémon's privacy. He continued to bounce between opposite sides of the hall, pressing his face into the sides of the Pokémon's respective enclosures, getting a real good eyeful before moving onto the next one. He had fallen eerily silent throughout this whole exchange.

Finally, he returned to the man, presumably having made his choice. He made his way to William and cleared his throat, raising his index finger into the air. He initially pointed at the ceiling before allowing it to point at a certain cage in particular, only to swing it around his axis in a full circle as he proclaimed. "I'd like to see 'em all, thank you!" clearly this was the only reasonable and logical request Guy could make, given his infatuation with Pokémon in general, not to mention his dream of becoming an ace trainer!

You are able to now write as your soon-to-be-... or NOT soon-to-be, Pokémon. Their traits will be given below! Their backstory can be requested in character from the volunteer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The foster-carer gave a wide smile and nod to Tai. It seemed she'd be the first to get a visit with the Pokémon she'd chosen to meet.

"Alright- if the rest of you can wait a bit. Unfortunately I'm only one person, so I have to set up these little enclosures one by one."

He motioned to the young woman as he paced toward one of the small enclosures in a corner. The heaters were set right against them- so it made sense Fire Pokémon were sat closest to the warmth.

Tai was lead to sit in a Turkish sit or on her knees on the ground in front of the little square. The volunteer pulled a little fence with a low creak from the wall just behind her, then from between the enclosure of the Numel and the Pokémon beside it.

"Now, I'll open Numel's enclosure. You don't have much to worry about when it comes to his demeanor. He won't be violent or shy... but you may accidentally get a little accident. Uh..." He smiled sheepishly. "He tends to get into a lot of... goofs. Just call me if something happens. If you end up enjoying you time with Numel, feel free to ask about his story coming to us or anything else when your friends are set up."

He lifted the front of the enclosure, pulling out two bars to keep it safely up. Within was Numel. He was a gentle, but careless type...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The man rushed back to the group, clearly excited to see so many ready to adopt. Unfortunately it wasn't common that people wished to adopt instead of catch or breed.

"Petilil! Well, did you hear that Petilil?"

He looked to the beam where the little one was still hiding.

"As she is already on her moment out of her enclosure- they all get that chance, though usually they are alone. But Petilil and Goomy are quite easygoing and became friends instantly. But- ahem... what did I say? Oh yes! Because she's here you can sit here with her." He chuckled as he held his arm out for the Goomy. With a droopy slither it circled its goop around his skin and was carried toward its own enclosure. After the volunteer had made sure he was comfortable in his own space, he came back to motion to a pillow on the ground in the open spot, a few feet away of the hiding Pokémon.

"She is very very shy- but harmless. If you have any questions about her or her story- feel free to let me know when your friends are meeting someone."

Behind the pillar two small eyes peeked at Rowan. She was Gentle-... but cowardly.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He then turned to the group once more. One of the visitors motioned to... all the Pokémon-... He laughed a little nervously.

"I'm afraid we uh. We can't do that, it would be chaos. I mean- you can meet all of them one by one if you'd like, if your friends are alright with that. Just tell me who you'd like to meet first!"

The man looked to the entire group now, one by one. Malyna stood there only tapping her heel. The only other thing she'd done was send Rowan a chilling glare- but he'd gotten away easy as she was secretly in thought about who she'd wish to meet.

"As for all of you that haven't given a specific request- there are a few Pokémon I haven't mentioned yet. We have a Magikarp, Carbink, Machop, Diglett, Klink, Binacle and Slowpoke. Of course feel free to ask for any of the others as well."

The Numel bounded forward and crashed head first into Tai's legs, which of course, caused her to buckle over somewhat.
Luckily, Tai managed to catch herself on the small enclosure wall.
The poor Pokémon looked dazed and confused, his gentle demeanour the reason for his over-friendly greeting.

Tai, though taken aback after her small tumble, flung her legs beneath her (so that she was kneeling ) and looked directly at Numel.
Carefully, she analysed him over. He was a stout little chap and he was brushing himself down quickly(this was clearly something that happened often).

By this point the fire breather had settle and was looking longingly at her for some kind of reaction. Scooping him up gently, Tai lifted him in front of her so that he stood on his back legs.
He was heavier than she had expected- but he didn't move an inch. Instead, he stared at her, his soft eyes following her thought patterns.
He was warm, and it radiated down her hand and through to her body.

Tai smiled jocularly and cradled him into her arms, which he accepted with ease.
His rotund body was smooth, though he did keep huffing to himself- Tai had no idea why (she would find out soon enough).

'I will take him!'
She yelled, as she kept her arms tightly around him- accepting him for the little clumsy thing he was.

Sam watched with quiet interest as the exuberant girl, her name started with a T... maybe an I, took an instant liking to the clumsy Numel. He had heard the brief introduction, the Pokemon suffering from sporadic goofs, but he didn't expect to hear a dull thud as soon as the foster-carer fellow left her at the enclosure. It didn't sound urgent though, especially when she loudly and excitedly claimed it. His attention shifted to Rowan for the briefest of moments before refocusing foster-carer. No one else had really named off any Pokemon besides the one guy's enthusiastic reply to see all of them, and at the mention of the other Pokemon, Sam perked up, "What other Pokemon are you sheltering right now that you haven't mentioned?"

Without a doubt, the shelter likely housed a good number of the small creatures, if the lack of space had anything to say about it. "And how do you come across them exactly? Were they abandoned... or did you find them or raise all of them by yourself?" Sam asked while gesturing around the room with his eyes.

"I am interested in the female Nidoran that you mentioned, but you wouldn't happen to have any other electric or dark types, would you?"

"What other Pokemon are you sheltering right now that you haven't mentioned?"

"In total... Cutiefly, Wurmple, Yungoos, Spearow, Petilil, Voltorb, Magikarp, Poochyena, Goomy, Carbink, Machop, Tepig, Litwick, Diglett, Klink, Binacle, Snorunt, Nidoran, Slowpoke and Numel."

"I am interested in the female Nidoran that you mentioned, but you wouldn't happen to have any other electric or dark types, would you?"

The man tapped his chin, tilting his head side to side. It was clear he was having some trouble keeping up with the Pokémon present in their shelter currently, and especially with their types.

"Poochyena for dark... Voltorb for electric- nope that's them." he nodded, quickly trying to sway the man to adopt by adding; "But a Nidoran would be wonderful for your wishes, she'd be able to learn both electric and dark moves!"

He broadened his smile, waiting a little impatiently as he looked to Sam. But his attention was quickly jerked away by a thud. "Are you... alright there??" Worry was evident in his voice, but it was quickly wiped away by the yell from the woman.

"That's great to hear! I'll be right there."

"And how do you come across them exactly? Were they abandoned... or did you find them or raise all of them by yourself?"

The volunteer furrowed his bushy brows as he rubbed his neck. "It differs per Pokémon. Some are rescued by us or others and brought here, others are saved from abusive trainers- we haven't raised them ourselves. I can tell you Nidoran's story before you meet her, if you'd like? But one moment- I'll help your friend first."

With almost a skip in his step, he approached the enclosure Tai and Numel sat in. "I'm glad you bonded to well!" He slid open a little drawer in a box just above the enclosure, taking out a Poké Ball.
"I'll let you do the honors."

He held the Poké Ball out for Tai. Once she'd take it, he would dip his head to her. "Come to me once you are ready. We'll handle the adoption-fee. If you wish I can also give you his story, which may help with future handling."

With a rush, he stepped back to Sam. "Would you like to meet Nidoran then, or one of the others?"
