Nimbarus
Peruvian Hiding Frog
Startled, Elyot took a step back when the strange woman suddenly lifted her head, her nose trickling blood. He watched cautiously as she then lowered it down to the soft grass. Just before her eyes closed from exhaustion, a flower sprung from the ground before her. She really was something extraordinary, and it seemed the key to restoring Evergreen’s flora lay with her. Elyot was comforted by that fact, but regrowing plants was only part of what Evergreen needed now. Regardless, her mystical powers were important, and Elyot would continue to watch over and protect her until she awoke.
Placing his crossbow down on the charred remains of a collapsed house, Elyot transformed into his falcon form and perched himself on the weapon, settling his observant gaze on the sleeping woman. The entire situation brought back memories that he thought would never again disturb him. But it was not the time for self-pity or sorrow; not that Elyot was even capable of feeling such emotions anymore. He had failed, and his only mission now was to serve the one person who could actually make a difference. Only then could he atone for what had happened, for what he had not prevented.
