In the city of Briarglass, the population is split into two sections; those aboveground, who enjoy a normal life with plenty of amenities and opportunities, and those underground, who are spat on and forced to stay underground by those above. Skully (my character) is an older teen who is underground, after her parents were killed. She supports herself by participating in pit fights, in which her opponent always dies or gives up. Always. Her hands were cut off as a punishment for coming aboveground once, so now she has two interchangeable brass attachments (she usually has hooks, knives, or syringes attached). Your character is the young (older teens) queen aboveground, but has always had empathy and curiosity about those belowground. After years of trying, she finally gets a program approved that allows one person from underground to go on a date with one person from aboveground, and without others knowing, she puts her name as the person the underground person will go on a date with. Skully is chosen, and so they go on a date, and get along. Eventually, your character decides to go underground for a night to try and find Skully again, but is attacked, being saved by Skully, who takes your character back to her area of the underground (basically her house) to talk. We can decide specific events later, but that’s the basic backstory.
