She thought it was a dumb plan considering Strong lost to Oni to, but she had even less options then John. “Alright.” She gets them moving to shore.

"I know its not much, but its all we have." He said, as if reading her mind. "Oh, when you see the inside of my apartment, don't judge."

She raises her eyebrow “okay?” They make it back to Opal City and Suzanne gets off “lead the way.”

John tries to stand, but immediately falls back down. He tries again, but to no avail, other than making himself dizzy. He hit his hand on the wall, and tried again. He couldn't stand.

Suzanne sees him struggling and sighs “come on.” She gets an arm around him and helps him walk “let’s just get a taxi or something.”

He begrudgingly accepts her help. He flags a taxi, gets in with her, and tells the driver the address. They make for his apartment.

"Honestly, its a mess." He says. "It's been a rough while, and I hardly use the place beyond sleeping. I've been in the field more than in my armchair. I'm up and out at a moment's notice, and don't have the time to keep it tidy. I haven't even eaten there in a week. Recent events don't help."

“Of course not, let me guess you have a porn stash under your bed to don’t you?” She jokes, then makes a realization “you don’t.....have that do you?”

"Anyways. We're almost there." He says, looking out the window at his encroaching apartment building. Once there, he thanks the driver, and uses a credit card to pay the fare.

He is still struggling to walk. He leans on the walls as he makes his way up to the steps. He picks up a potted plant in front of the door, which has a key under it. He opens the door before replacing the key. He walks inside. It was indeed messy, and musty. Food wrappers littered the floor, clothes were everywhere, and the room was covered in dust. There was no in-date food in the kitchen. The living room was lit by a box television. There were indeed pin-up posters, about 5 in total. It somehow seemed worse now that another person would see it. He moved aside to let her in.

Her eyes widen seeing the room, and he lied, the pin up posters were definitely the worst part. “Ugh, just get whatever you came for so we can leave please.”

"You're definitely judging." He said. He sounded defeated. He had overestimated himself. He was tired, hurt, with gashes all over his body, and more bruises than he had ever had in his life. His insides felt like they were crumbling. He made for his room, moving slowly and awkwardly as he braced himself against anything in arms reach.

She helps him along to his room. She opens the door for him and sits him on his bed. “Just tell me where it is.”

He didn't have to. It was in arms reach from where he was sitting. He opened the drawer on the end table beside his bed and fished out a device that kinda looked like a taser. "Here it is." He said. He fell back onto his bed. He wanted nothing more than to sleep right now, but he couldn't. He had work to do. He willed himself to sit back up. "Alright. Let's go, it's a ways away from here.

“Wonderful.” She replies helping him up and out of the apartment. She calls for another taxi and they get in

The address that John gives the driver is on the other side of town. Once there, John pays the fare, and laboriously gets out of the cab. They stopped in front of a small, rickety bar in the 'bad neighborhood'. He walks inside. The place was surprisingly empty for the time of day. There was nobody there except for two men sharing a table, and the bartender himself. He walked up to the bar. "Wow. John, you sure you should be standing? What'd you do, have a freighter land on ya?" He looked like a concerned friend. "Let's talk in the back." John told him. The two of them walked to the store room, and John beckoned Suzanne to follow.

Suzanne walks in behind him. She elected not to say anything. The few people in the bar were of course staring at her.

The bartender sized John up, evaluating his wounds. "I can fix up a philter that'll clear this right up." He said. "Free for you, of course." John clenched his fists. "Yeah, thanks Rocky." The bartender was old, but much older than he seemed. His hair still had its deep brown color, and he had huge sideburns that connected to his equally big mustache. His chin was shaved though. He was wearing the type of clothing you would expect a bartender to wear, with a dirty rag in his pocket. "I'm gonna go down now, while you get that fixed." He pushed the device into the wall, and it opened to stairs leading down. He went in.

Tri just smirked as he poped a hazo bean back into his mouth after oni had left- and then flew away, smirking to himself "Im just testing him.... he has no idea what he is up against"
