Narator's POV
Location : Trinity Cresent School ; Multi-purpose Hall
Date : 2 January, Year XX34

The school's reception hall flooded with new prodigies as they took their designated seats on the chairs in the hall. Magic wielders from all around the world had gathered here today as new students of this famous schools. No matter their reasons of enrollment, most of the new prodigies were chatting with other students and making new friends. A bell rang and the whole room slowly quieted down. The lights dimmed and the stage lights directed at the podium. A man with perfectly gelled jet black hair and violet purple eyes strode on the stage and took his place on the podium. The man looked regal with his finely tailored suit and shined brown boots. The mysterious man tapped on the microphone at the podium. The man smiled at the audience. " Hello fellow magic wielders. I'm the Headmaster of this fine school of magic. My name is Alvar Madoka. " The man begun. " I welcome you with open arms to this school. You all have shown great magical talents to be enrolled here. I have handpicked you talented young ones, and you shall be trained by the best in this school to flourish as a magic user in time of your graduation. " Alvar spoke, his voice rich with wisdom. " You all will start in this school with your respective divisions and classification classes. Rest assure that your teachers, mentors, and seniors shall guide you through your journey at this school. Each of you shall find a satchel bag on your chairs that contains your schedules and information files. " The headmaster continued, stopping for a moment for students to reach for their satchels. " Those classified as Dangerous Ability Type, please report to my office. Have a wonderful journey in this school. " Alvar concluded.

Shinku's POV
Location : Reception Hall ; Headmaster's Office

Shinku picked up her satchel as she left for the Headmaster's Office. According to her Information file, she was classified Dangerous Ability Type. This was her punishment for burning down her town, Shinku thought to herself. The path to the Headmater's office was really far from the reception hall. Shinku has already suffered from the school's private eyes dragging her to this school as soon as they stamped out her flames, so she planned taking a very long time to reach the office. On the way, she looked at the crystal hallways. She'll give the school this, they had their own type of glamour. Magical artworks were also hung on the walls, and it was quite fascinating for Shinku.

Shinku slowly approached the door of the office. She knocked on door and entered the pitch black room in cue of a soft reply. When Shinku entered, she had to squint to really make out what was in the room. There was the Headmaster at his desk in front of the only window, and a group of nine students at the side of the room. The expression of the students' face were creased with worry. Even in the darkness, Shinku saw a vicious smile form on the Headmaster's face. The Headmaster tapped his fingers on his wooden desk. " Hello. Welcome to the Dangerous Ability Type Class, ' Crimson Shikigami ' " Alvar said, his words dripping with fake sincerity. " Time for your first mission. "

Hyunjin had looked at all the papers from the satchel and checked everything. She was also placed in the Danger class, which she had expected. She walked out of the reception hall with her sword sheathed behind her back. As she walked by, she noticed that other students were making fun of her outfit. She sighed since this is what she always wore, and the coat was all she wanted to buy with the money she was given. Perhaps she'll find a better, more modern outfit in the near future. But all that mattered to her now was just heading to the headmaster's office, as all students of the Danger class would as well. One student who was passing by her with his friends, decided to become a little playful and tried to take her sword. However, he stopped as he suddenly felt his hand freeze a bit, almost numbing it as the sword gave off its chilling air so as the student wouldn't touch. Hyunjin stopped and looked over her shoulder at the student who was almost... frightened. The reasons were obvious because of the piercing glare Hyunjin gave but decided to brush it off and continue to the headmaster's office. It probably wouldn't do good for her to get into a fight and get expelled from school immediately, as it would also bring shame to her family name.
Once she reached the office, she knocked on the door three times before entering. She saw that there were other students who made it before her. Though, she looked around and saw the group of students who looked worried. She then turned her gaze to the girl and the silhouette of the headmaster which Hyunjin can slowly make out his smile as her eyes adjusted to the changes in her vision in terms of lighting. She stood next to the door, waiting for whatever it was the headmaster wanted to speak to them about. From what she can guess, they were already being briefed on their first mission. Perhaps this was an initiation test, to flesh out the students who can prove worthy and unworthy. She was only curious as to what kind of missions and what this headmaster's intentions were. Could this foreshadow the revival of her clan's purpose, or would he actually have righteous intents to make the world a safer place? She will just have to be cautious from now on.

Kat's POV

Kat grabbed her satchel and looked for her schedule. "Hmmm," she said aloud. "Sonatic class... Interesting." Kat headed for her dorm, which was up a few stories, down a couple hallways, and there it was. She looked around, and saw that it was a dorm for herself only. Kat quickly unpacked her belongings, which were not that many considering that she thought she wouldn't need that much stuff. Kat decided that she was tired, and she quickly fell asleep. When she awoke, it was evening. Kat leaped out of bed and ran downstairs. "No, no no! I missed an entire day of class! The headmaster is going to kill meeeee!!!" As expected, the headmaster was waiting for her in the Dining Hall. "KATERINA HELLBERTH!" he shouted enraged. Kat gulped and looked around at the other students snickering. "Y-yes?" Kat asked, terrified of the consequences she was about to face. "DO YOU THINK YOU CAN SKIP CLASS AND GET AWAY WITH IT?", he screamed, leaning down because her height was no match for his. "No sir," Kat said, nearly in tears. "WELL, YOU'RE CORRECT," He replied, spitting in her face. "STUDENTS LIKE YOU END UP AS FAILURES. I'LL LET YOU OFF THIS TIME, BUT FAIL ME AGAIN AND FACE CONSEQUENCES YOU ONLY HEAR IN FAIRY-TALES."
Kat nodded, and went off to eat dinner alone.

Alexander Bell
Professor Alexander Bell did not go to these things because he wanted to, he went to them because he had to. Fortunately, he was not required to do any talking. The Headmaster knew better than to let Alex open his mouth; nothing good ever came out. He sat slumped in his chair a few down from the Headmaster, most of what the man was saying passing right through his ears without making purchase. And when all the students suddenly stirred and some jumped up and raced off to explore, he woke from his daydream with a bit of a start and a dreary blink.

The Magical Theory Professor did not bother to cover his yawn as he pushed himself up from his seat and made the slow walk out of the Hall, down the long corridor (which was just a fancy word for a large hallway, Alex had come to determine), and found himself standing outside the Headmaster’s office. He had been asked to attend the meeting of the Danger Class students that was to take place afterwards, but it was more of a request than an order. There was no real reason for him to be there, considering he rarely had any say on these “missions” the Headmaster sent the kids on. Alex had zero interest in being apart of whatever scheme the Headmaster was running, sending his pawns out to do his dirty work. But, he had trouble coming up with an excuse, especially when Professor Tilda Mooringham (a prickly young woman with all the right curves in all the right places, and yet seemed dead set on preventing Alex from experiencing said curves for himself) sashayed past and slipped in through the Headmaster’s office door. Her hips swayed and her skirt made that /swish/ sound as it rubbed against her pantyhose. There were few sounds Alex could not resist and that was one of them. Well, there were actually quite a lot of things Alex found irresistible, including sounds. He was not a very picky man.

Alex pushed in after her, slipping into the room and choosing the go left so that he positioned himself on Tilda’s right. She did not spare him a glance, and if she had, she would have been looking down a few inches at what was a rather petite young man. He was gaunt in face, thin in structure, and short in stature, maybe five-foot-seven on a good day. Most women and men overlooked him, but all were drawn back by his striking, ice-blue eyes. They were his one saving grace.

Alex pushed his hands into the large pockets of his oversized jacket, and watched the Headmaster with little interest.

Hyunjin was in the same room as she heard the door open again and watched two professors walk in. She wondered whose students they taught? She decided not to mind them since the girl was being briefed. Maybe the headmaster may assign both of them the same mission, so it was best that she should listen.

Kat's POV
Kat was walking by the headmasters office, when she heard voices. It sounded like the Headmaster was talking to the students in the special class. Kat payed no attention to it, and moved on with her day. Sadly, everyone knew her name by this time, and she was receiving a little too much hatred. She also knew no one in her class, as she had slept through part of the day. Kat was 5'0, so she was shorter than most kids here. Due to that, Kat looked like a 5th grader. As she walked back towards her dorm, another Junior yelled at her, "Hey shortie! This is the Junior Dorms! Why are you here? " . "I'm a Junior! My name is Katerina Hellberth, and--" was all that Kat said before the other Junior laughed. "You're the one that slept the entire day!" the girl said, gasping for air. Kat awoke with a start. She was inside the Reception Hall, and the headmaster's speech had just concluded. Kat looked inside her satchel. There was her schedule , her dorm number, and a journal with the school's crest. Kat hurried to her first class. I guess it was a dream, thought Kat. As she entered the classroom, a stern looking teacher glared at her. "This is the Beginner's Magic class, right?" asked Kat. "Yes, and thank you for joining us today", said the teacher. "My name is Professor Linstringuiti, but you may refer to me as Professor L. This is a class for students who know they have powers, but do not know how to use or control them. Now, let's get started..."

Shinku's POV
Location : Outside School Gates ; Neutral Territories
Featured : @Jin Liyang

Shinku followed the rest of the Dangerous Ability Type students through the school gates as the rest of the students scattered to their classes. The supervisor ordered the class to move towards the forest as they exited the gates. Shinku was asked to bring her flute for her ' mission ' and she knew it meant that she was going to fight. Shinku had been trying to think of ways how to avoid using her abilities in her ' mission ' so she wouldn't end up dead on the first day. She took the opportunity to observe the Dangerous Ability Type Class. There were children of a small variety of ages and some seemed like they are younger than Shinku. There was one person that caught her eye. The girl was the last member of this classification class to join the briefing for their mission and the Headmaster took a rather strange interest into the mysterious girl.

The supervisor instructed the class to form a circle around a peculiar crystal on the ground. As soon as the circle was formed, the group was slowly swept away by rays of light. Teleportation, Shinku realised. Before she was completely swept away, Shinku heard her supervisor say, " Defeat every enemy in the area. Do not fail at all cost. Punishments shall be sentenced to whoever that fails to follow orders. "

Hyunjin felt that the briefing for their mission was a bit rushed and she felt like the headmaster would most likely keep them in the dark for their missions and its purposes. Suspicions about this headmaster were raising many red flags for her. Her first impression and now, a briefing that didn't even explain what their orders were, nor what the purpose of it was. If she had to guess, this would be initiation through a trial of fire. When they had stood around a crystal in a circle, she could almost feel like this headmaster could tell them more information. Before she could even ask what this crystal was, she was caught off guard by the rays of light. She heard the headmaster speak, and thought in the orders itself, he was up to no good. It appears that her clans purpose will be revived soon through her and upon him. But it will take time because she would want to know what this headmaster was capable of. To be a headmaster of a magic school, surely they would have to be a formidable opponent. So for now, she'll follow his orders like a pawn and see what happens next.
When the light cleared, Hyunjin opened her eyes and looked around. She'd assume they would be in a new area, but where on Earth are they and who is the enemy?

Lord of the Game
Eva’s Point of View

No one from the village came to the train station to say goodbye, not that Eva would have insisted. She had stepped on a few toes in the brief amount of time since she had acquired her magical abiltiies. After all, magic is power and not everyone was happy that she of all people had acauired so much so quickly.

It was an obvious screw-job to send her away to Trinity Crescent. But nothing would irk the officious dullards on the village council like cheerful acceptance of her fate. And so, as the train pulled away, she blew kisses to her mother and gave over-the-top waves to her father on the platform.

She would not be leaving the village for good. She had promised her family as much at their final dinner last night. Of course, she had no way of knowing that she would be able to do that. It seemed like the sort of magnanimous thing you say when giving your goodbyes to loved ones. In truth, she was worried. Worried that she was about to be absorbed into larger and more complicated world than she wanted to be a part of, as if caught in a whirlpool. Worried that she would end up an old crone delving the mysteries of the arcane until her eyes gave out and bones turned to dust. She desired no fellowship with the mage community, such as it was. But if a term or two at Trinity Crescent was what it would take to be left alone, then so be it. There was a price for everything, especially peace.

---------------------------------------

The students had hardly gathered in the main hall before the headmaster at the front had finished his welcome speech and was sending them away. Evidently he was not a man who allowed his charges to let the moss grow under their feet.

Good enough, thought Eva. It suited her just fine to get right to the action. She flipped open her satchel and found her schedule. It took a moment to parse the endless list of magic classes and sub-classes to find where she needed to be. She belonged to the Somatic class. A strangely clinical word to refer to powers which, until a few weeks ago, she had assumed to be uniquely hers.

As she departed, she tried to catch the eye of any students who might be in her group. One boy returned her gaze, and you didn’t have to be magic to know what he was thinking. It then dawned on her that she didn’t know any of these people anyway, so she resolved instead to take stock of her new associates once she got where she needed to be.

If you walk fast, you can find your way around almost anywhere. Eva took her place in class and tried to call her magic to mind. It was difficult at first. She was used to doing this mostly by instinct. Usually by… seeking inspiration from elsewhere.

First day jitters notwithstanding, she felt calm and ready.

Maria Guadalupe-Valdez
Maria Guadalupe-Valdez had lost track of time and space, and had just so happened to be passing by the large doors leading into the great dining hall when they burst open and a flood of new students came rushing out. She stepped back to avoid colliding with one rather clumsy and overly excited young boy, and turned her eyes in on the Hall just long enough to see the Headmaster slipping away. Most likely calling all the Dangerous Class students away to give them their initiation test. He did it every year, and most of the other students talked and speculated and usually ended up feeling ostracized or ostracizing the Dangerous Class students. What a lovely way to boost morale, separate the favorites from the least favorites and offer up preferable treatment. Or, so Maria had thought it on that very first day. How she wanted to prove herself worthy to be trusted. Her ability may not be super strength or the possession of a magical sword of some sort, but she was not useless. She had purpose, and skill. Now, after years at this school, Maria had come to see the Headmaster’s schemes for what they were. She was not going to throw her life away for some delusional old man’s ideals.

Maria continued on her way, wading through the new students, attempting to make it down the hallway and to the right to her next class: boring old History.

Shinku's POV
Location : Near the school gates ; Entering school grounds
Time : Afternoon ; 02.35 p.m. ; After the Dangerous Ability Type Class's mission

Shinku stumbled through the school gates. Even though she didn't do much on her ' mission ', she felt like her lungs were about to fail her. The mission the Headmaster had sent the Dangerous Ability Type Class on was more of an ' assassination '. When the class entered the area at the time, there were two hooded figures that were just strolling through the forest. Then, the seniors of the class told the group to kill the enemy. Shinku was thinking that she could just drop-kick the two hooded-figures, but the seniors took action. They called for a sand tornado, shot a few poison quills and asked the new members to finish of the job. The younger ones just kept a look out as the older ones killed the two ' enemies ' and a boy just burned the corpses. Shinku was in charge of paralyzing the enemies, which was considered the ' easier ' job. The mysterious girl earlier, the one with the iced blade, just encrusted the corpses in thick ice and walked away.

The younger children seemed traumatized. They cried silently or stared blindly into their surroundings as the juniors tried to carry them back to class. Shinku was running on her last bit of energy when she stepped on something that made an agonizing " crunch ". Shinku bent down and tried to focus her blurry vision. It was a bird, a crow to be exact. Shinku just picked the blurry black creature by the neck and tried to stagger towards her locker to get her medication.

As the mission carried out, Hyunjin was disgusted but had decided to finish off the two figures only because they were already poisoned. It'd be better to just finish them off swiftly, and that is what she did. To the Seniors, this was just a regular assassination. To her, they just slew two living things as if for sport. Like an animal. As she watched the corpses burn to ash and dust, she gripped her the sheathe, the sword sheathed within it, and some ice formed around her hand as she kept her rage and disgust hidden as much as possible. This isn't an assassination. It was just murder...

When they returned to the school, Hyunjin knocked on the headmaster's door three times before entering. She kept a good poker face, and her sword was sheathed behind her back. She spoke rather calmly and almost gentle-like. Not even a hint of anything related to malice was detected in her voice. It just seemed... cold.
"Greetings, headmaster. May I come in?" She asked before walking in a little bit and closing it slightly, as a way to 'put her foot in the door.' The only question she believes she had, who were the people they had just killed? And for what purpose?

Shinku's POV
Location : Healing center

Shinku reached for the bandages on the nearby shelves. The crow that she picked up from the ground rested painfully still on the silk cloth Shinku placed on the counter. The nurse there didn't grace her with her much needed presence, so Shinku was left to heal the bird on her own. Pills of her own laid in a pouch rested beside the bandages. Finishing off the tight knot she tied, Shinku left the unconscious crow at the window so it can leave as it please. Shinku didn't feel that terrible once her breathing wasn't ragged and her heart didn't betray her body. The students flooded the hallways as bells chimed loudly, signalling the end of morning classes. Prodigies headed for the lunch hall, not bothering to give Shinku a glance as they rushed with their friends for their lunch. Shinku quickly took her medication and left the healing center. She didn't notice even when the crow, now conscious, fluttered onto Shinku's satchel bag. Then, she used the lunch period to find her next lesson.

I was just finishing signing off the last of the School Festival arrangement files when there was a hasty knock on the door. My face twisted to a frown. " Come in. " I grumbled. A figure opened the door. It was the girl in the Dangerous Ability Type Class that just enrolled. The spies had interests in her for a while, and both the girl and ' Crimson Shikigami ' was proving themselves quite useful. The girl stepped into the room cautiously, eyeing her surroundings. " I'm here to ask a question on our recent mission. " the girl spoke, her voice with tinted with disgust. My face curled into a tight smile. The girl seemed to be the rebellious type.

Seeing the headmaster's expression to the question, she kept her poker face but it was clear that it was breaking since, her eye brows had furrowed a tiny bit. "Those people we killed. Who were they?" She asked. "I don't mind if you don't tell me your motives, since I doubt we're on that level of trust yet. So for now, I'd settle for their names and occupations." She really didn't mind if he hadn't told her his motives, for she'd find out soon enough. It may not be now, or tomorrow. But eventually, she'll catch on. And perhaps, she'll find his true colors. Whatever was under that facade of a headmaster.

Alexander Bell

Alexander usually spent his lunch breaks pouring over one book after another, brushing up on old lore and bulking up his own mental library. One could never have enough knowledge, as knowledge was, after all, power. A sentiment the witch truly believed. Plus, part of keeping a low profile was making as little noise and commotion as possible, and how much trouble could studying get him into?
Studying was exactly what Alex had been doing before he had grown bored. Part of keeping low also meant no fun. The past year had been nothing but silence, and the witch was beginning to feel cooped up. He was a wanderer, never one to settle into one place for long. He required stimuli that these young students failed to offer. Someone to challenge him, someone who could offer him a bit of fun before he squashed them. But he also needed to remain in hiding and could not risk being found by his mother. Piece of work, she was.

With a sigh and a roll of his tired eyes, Alex closed the large five-hundred-year-old grimoire shut with a loud thump and pushed to his feet. He slipped outside his office door, looking left and then right down the hall. He checked his watch. Classes would be starting up in another twenty minutes, so he had time to snoop around, get himself into a bit of trouble before he had to report back. Any entertainment would be worth it.

As he rounded a corner, Alex looked up to see one of the new students. She was Dangerous class, one of the ones who had been called out on some sort of mission. The Headmaster had teleported them all out and left Alex to twiddle his thumbs without even Miss Prickly Pear to keep him company (Mooringham had gone with the students as a chaperone should anything go afoul). He had left, taking the very clear hint that he was unwanted.
Shin-something, he thought the student’s name was. He was never very good with names. Shrink? Shinu? Shinku? Maybe. Did it really matter?

Alex stopped, hands resting in his pockets, and watched the girl as she continued down the hall in his direction. Looking for her class, maybe.
“How was your first ‘mission’?” He asked. The professor rarely ever cared for such things, but he was bored, so what the hey? He might as well engage in some small talk to pass the time.

Shinku looked up silently at the question. It was the professor that was there at the mission briefing earlier on. Shinku frowned, clearing not happy about getting stopped suddenly. Since the professor didn't seem to be leaving, Shinku replied, " It was fine. " Then, she walked away without another word. Shinku didn't want to get called on by her professors since they're working under the Headmaster anyways. All adults are the same. They side with the ones with experience and ignore the ones that are inexperienced. She could still feel the professor's eyes staring at her from behind. Looking at her schedule, Shinku started heading off to her next session taught by a professor named " Alexander ".

I flicked a piece of dust off my desk. The girl still seemed rather oblivious to the purpose of her missions, so I decided to humor the student this once. " The enemies you faced were rebels from an organisation that tries to take down this school for it's ' devious ways '. You'll be facing a lot of them in the mere future. " I spoke, trying to mix in both true and false words into my sentence. " I see. " the girl said after a moment. She wasn't leaving, nor did she say a word. The girl's hateful expression began to falter as she turned to leave. It seems I have to send this one on a few more missions to correct her rebellious behaviour, I thought with disgust.

(Try not to control my character as you say that she's leaving. I'll control her the way I want, you control yours. Thank you.)
Hyunjin didn't leave just yet. As oblivious as she was about the outside world, she knows that things could be done rightfully if a police force was involved. What they were doing isn't making anything better, and it seems to just prove the terrorists' beliefs about the school being negative. She spoke once more, just with a sigh. She couldn't argue with the headmaster's intentions to do away with the organization themselves, perhaps they may have some magic wielders. She still believed the police should be involved. She turned to leave, forcing herself to be satisfied with the answer she received as she spoke. "Thank you for giving the information I wanted. If this isn't asking for too much, please give us a more thorough briefing next time. To boost the recruits' motivation a little bit more. And no one likes being kept in the dark..." When she walked out the door, she closed it gently behind her and sighed again. Perhaps this headmaster isn't as corrupt as she thought. Now she knows of his intentions, but what about the terrorists? What do they have to say? With yet another question on her mind, she just walked down the hall to the lunch hall to grab herself a small lunch. She knows she had to eat, but this was the first time she had ever killed a human. Who could ever get an appetite after killing another human being? She's practiced with bamboo chutes and bundles of hay, though none of them compared to what flesh felt like through her blade. She may also have to consider how she would carry out her future missions. She has to consider how she would distribute her time to find answers about how to free her sister and school work as well. She put her hands inside the pockets of her coat, looking down slightly. Damn this cursed blade...

((For anyone who might be floating around without any interaction as of yet, Alex is about to start his class and I can modify it to be a joint class between age-groups so that everyone can attend. It would make it easier for him to hold a class with more students anyway, and would give everyone the opportunity to join in on some fun interaction.))

Alex watched as the student slipped past him. It was not quite the interaction he had been hoping for, but he figured he could not be too surprised. Most students found discussing anything with their professors to be uncool. There were a few who entertained his wild theories on Magic and its origins and purpose, but most simply said what they had to to pass the class and went on their merry way. Not everyone was gifted with the wonder for knowledge and thought that he was.

Deciding the child was not worth his concern, Alex continued down the hall. The next twenty minutes or so were spent getting in a solid snoop. He had little time to mosey through the halls and peak past locked doors, and while he had little a care for the going-ons of this school, he liked to at least know what he was dealing with. As this was to be his home for a while, he figured he might as well get to know the place. And the people.

A quick glance at his watch and Alex realized he was late. He had been making his way through one of three large libraries in the school, checking off all the volumes of import that he had already read, and making note of two or three that caught his interest. He set a particularly large book on the “History of the Magics of the Indigenous Peoples of Australia” back on the shelf and slipped out and back down the hall across the school to his next class of the day. An Elementary class, which was way outside his element. An Introduction to Basic Magical Theory. It was his first year teaching the youngest of the school and he was not exactly thrilled about it. Sure, as a child himself, he had spent many hours enthralled in volumes and volumes of witchcraft and dark magics, but he had been a rare breed. Most children were too concerned with fun and adventures to truly appreciate the arts.

Alex was the last to arrive in the classroom, and he pushed through without much care for the fact that he had kept his class waiting a full five minutes past the start time. He cast a suspicious glance at the students seated in neat rows, and made his way to the front of the room. He drew in a breath, and began.

“So, this is Intro to Basic Magical Theory,” his eyes swept the classroom and he recognized the girl from earlier. “I’m Professor Bell. As a forewarning, this class is going to be very boring to most of you, and those of you who might think it won’t be, prepare to be disappointed. There is a lot of reading, a lot of writing, and not a lot of fun to be had in Magical Theory. I hope everyone’s taken a look at the reading list I sent out with the class schedules. If you didn’t get one, I have extras that you can pick up after class. Otherwise, I suppose we can get started…Any questions?”

Eva flipped idly through her first text while she waited for something to happen to let her know she was in the right place. The book was dense and intimidating, bound in plain leather. The pages were thin, like a bible. The comparison would likely please whoever wrote it.

She tried at first to read starting from the beginning. There she found an introduction filled with theories and references that meant nothing to her. Perhaps it was best to avoid a bird's eye view of the subject until she had gotten her feet wet. Flipping back to the table of contents, she looked for something manageable. A section on magical history looked promising.

Magic was old, she was quite surprised to learn. Discovered separately by countless peoples and civilizations across the globe. Studied in agonizing detail along countless rivers and eddies of inquiry, some valuable and some resulted in carnage and misery. She began to feel ill at ease. What had she gotten herself into? She had hoped for a couple of easy tricks to pull out in a tight spot. A little hidden insight to succeed in...her later pursuits, not that she had turned her mind to anything like that. Turns out there were strings attached, as she was warned but failed to heed.

Shinku's POV
Location : Classroom 242
Featuring : @Canth, @Slappy McHuge

Shinku frowned when she saw that her professor was the guy from earlier. His tone seemed very monotoned, like he couldn't bring himself to care about making his job easier to make sure the students didn't fall asleep. Shinku looked up as Professor Bell started his lesson. She flipped through the thick book in front of her. Shinku had the whole thing read when she first arrived at the school, so the lesson was just a revision of the information she memorised vaguely.

A girl in front of Shinku, Eva, according to the girl's name on her textbook. Eva was flipping her book back and forth, like she was trying to pass time. It was then Shinku realised something was shifting in her satchel. She opened it and almost yelped when she saw what was in it. It was the crow from before, the one Shinku had stepped on. She slammed her bag shut and placed it under her desk.

Eva must've heard some loud crashes behind her, because she tilted her head around a few times when Shinku tried kicked the moving lump on her satchel.

Professor Bell waited, eyes sweeping the room of students who all kept their silence. Figures. He anticipated this being a particular waste of time. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to mix Elementary with Junior with Senior was out of their minds. Oh well, he was stuck now.
“Alright, no questions. Great.” He dropped his hands, which had been propped against the desk in support, into his pockets and moved around the desk. He sat back against the desk, bright blue eyes on the mix of young and younger children.

“So, Magic,” he began, as he did all his classes. “Does anyone—?” Alex paused when the girl from earlier let out a small squeak. He eyed her closely, a frown tugging at his brow. When she failed to explain, but made no other sound, he continued.
“Where was I...ah yes, Magic. What is Magic? Any thoughts?” He turned his eyes on the class, not expecting anyone to answer. “There are wrong answers,” he warned. “But, of course, fire away. Anyone?”
