Fantasy Tribes of Life

Queen of Noms
The sun was rising on the land of Haszee. The many noises of nature began to wake the people of the tribes to prepare them for a busy day of work. There were only 2 more days until the annual Feast the Eagles held for all tribes would take place. Tensions have certainly been rising as the Eagle warriors have been heavily monitoring the Snakes preparation of gifts for the Eagles. Trust was not just broken, but seemingly nonexistent between Eagles and Rabbits against the Snakes and Vultures. These tensions will ultimately present many paths to how the Feast will play out, but none looking too promising. Who knows will arise, a rebellion, murder, or love between the tribes. Or maybe all 3. If there was any way to prevent this, it would take a sudden change of heart for the angered people of all tiers who see different sides to the stories.

Elinora had been up before the sun peaked above the horizon. She was in her own personal garden where she grew a variety of crops in her free time. Though she was not a farmer, her father believed that farming and learning about agriculture are crucial skills to worship the land and the spirits and to survive. Many of her crops were ready to be picked and she quickly harvested the plants and placed the vegetables and fruits in two large sacks she had. Eli had to do this quickly before her father woke up at his usual time when the roosters began to crow or else he would suspect her plans in bringing food over to the brink of the Snake and Vulture territory.
After filling the sacks to the point they weren't fully able to be tied up, she was satisfied and went to hid her bags in bushes just outside of her family's home. She would retrieve them later for her little venture out of Rabbit territory. Eli had to make her rounds to show her father she was around and to visit the people of her village. She usually made her presence known from household to household so people would simply suspect that she was out and about. Elinora truly enjoyed aiding the people in her town and this was a natural routine for her way before she started smuggling food to the other tribes, but now it was even more important to make others believe she was only focused on the Rabbit tribe.
Eli then went back in her home to brew herself some tea as she took a bite of one of the apples her mother had in a clay bowl. She had prepared a light breakfast for when her parents would wake up, a token of her gratitude for all of their love and support for her. Taking her tea, she went to the front of her home which was in the center of her village and sat cross legged on a boulder, waiting for signs of other humans waking up for their day of work. Sipping her drink, Eli watched as the sun made its way to the sky, bringing wonderful hues of pinks and oranges to greet the Earth.

Seventeen hours. It had been seventeen hours since Claude's last break, but that was of course because he had important testing to be doing. The Feast 'o Ferals was in just a couple of days, and he needed something to present. Claude wasn't the most important person, but he had clawed his way up the cramped hierarchy enough to have gotten himself his own panel at the feast. Unfortunately, his work for this year was for him, and no one else; he couldn't present that! Instead he thought to throw together some agricultural tool of some kind. He could spare to give the Rabbits something to work with; he hated them the least.

"Test log; index S.H.A.A.: entry thirty-four. The algorithm for specific heat to temperature differential seems to have been corrected to allow for hair-pin precision. Effective range has been increased to nine acres."

Yes, with this machine, seasonal crops would have the chance to grow outside of the confines of their quarter of the year. Through the simulation of weather conditions. Humidity was the easiest to do, took next to nothing. However, temperature was a much different story. Fortunately, Claude was a living fucking legend, so of course he'd get this done just in time for the festival. He took a seat atop one of his work benches, and sighed a tired sigh. He laid flat on the table, looking up to the brightened slats of the workshop's ceiling. Morning already? It only made sense, he'd been working non-stop all night. It's a good thing he had nothing to do that morning, except that time he'd scheduled for the Pit. That wasn't until--Uhhh, I gotta go!

Claude hurriedly jumped up from where he laid, and tore his lab coat off. Getting a reservation for Pit testing was near impossible, he had to get there before his time was up. See, the Pit was created as a large testing facility for some of the more dangerous things the Snake tribe would often conjure up out of their think-tank: mainly weapons. It was a popular venue, as a Snake's natural disposition was to make weapons. Call it a subconscious desire to topple the system, no matter how much they'd deny and say that we needed the other tribes. Claude, grabbed a bag that he had hanging off the door, as well as a hover-board he had leaning against the wall. Opening the door, he hopped on his board and zoomed off, near crashing into a few people on the way down.

"Sorry Snape, Bonne!" Claude called out to them.

"You're cooking next week for that!" Bonne laughed.

Claude chuckled to himself, as he looked up overhead; the zip-lines were busy today. It only made sense, with the festival coming up everyone would be super busy. Procrastinators rushing to put together something presentable for the festival; organizers setting up venues and delivering summons and such for filler pieces. Claude spotted an unused lift rope and caught it, as it tugged on him and he skated up the side of the buildings. He saw a head pop out of a window near his line of travel.

"Claude! Check it out!" The small boy had a taser in his hand. A loud one.

"Nice job, Nikkolaüs! I'll check it out later okay?" Claude hi-fived the young lad as he flew by.

Reaching the top of the building, he took just a moment to look back on the city he was so fond of. No building any shorter then eight stories, all packed right up against each other. What they were force into. Being the least important tribe, they of course had the least amount of land to work with. So they found their own ways to live this life. Transportation was impressive: levers, pulleys, zip-lines, slides, hover-boards, such verticality! They arguably spent more time in the sky than any of the tribes, ironic considering two of them being avian. Of course, he had no time to be gawking at what he'd lived with his entire life, he had somewhere to be!

Allabel was up before the sun to water her Nightblooms. They always tucked themselves back inside their petals in the light. So she had made a habit of watering them before the sun came up so they stayed strong. After the plants were watered she stretched and got dressed for the day.

She hummed while she grabbed her basket to collect ingredients and the little black vial she always carried with her. It contained a strong poison in case any Vulture or Snake tried to mess with her. She scooped up Baby and tucked her into her hood. The little lizard was asleep now, but if she left without her she would be mad. She threw a few flower bulbs in her basket.

She left and walked to Elinora's house with the basket on her hip. She pushed her hair out of her face. "I forgot to braid it again." She sighed and knocked on the door. "Eli, its Allabel." She called out to her.

Eldiza woke at dawn, like farmers do. She was excited because she got to go into town to buy supplies. Visiting town might not seem like a big deal, but being stuck with her family on a farm, getting to see friends is something she really looks forward to.

After breakfast, when her siblings started work on the farm, she took a basket and began the journey. She found herself humming and looking at the butterflies.

Upon arriving into town, she recognized Allabel standing outside of Elinora’s home. “Hi Allie” Eldiza said with excitement and approached her. Eldiza suddenly paused and lowered her voice, “Sorry, is baby taking a nap? I hope I didn’t wake her.”

Eli had enjoyed her tea as she waved hellos to the people waking up and coming out of their homes. She was a familiar and friendly face to everyone, having a heavy presence on Rabbit Tribe's way of life. Hearing a knock coming from the door of her house, she peaked her head from around the corner as she was enjoying her time in the fresh air. Seeing who it was, Eli jumped up from the boulder she was on and skipped over to Allabel and Eldiza. Clasping her hands together in excitement to see familiar faces, Eli spoke "Allabel! Eldiza! What a pleasant surprise! What brings you to my home on this day?"
The tribes healer and farmer didn't have to have a reason, but many times if you were knocking on the tribes leader door it was for something. "Do you both want a cup of tea? Or maybe something to eat? I know the next two days will be very hectic with preparations and all.." Eli continued as she opened her door and gestured for the two to come in

Allabel smiled at Eldiza. "Oh don't worry. Baby sleeps like a rock. She just gets grumpy when I leave her at home." She laughed softly. "Care for a Gladiola bulb? I had a few extra and nowhere to plant them." She picked a bulb out of her basket and held it up.

She turned back around when she heard Elinora greet them. "Hey Eli. I just came to offer you some Gladiolus bulbs. I know you like to garden." She held up her basket with the few bulbs to show her. "I was about to head out and look for herbs and roots. But when I return I'll look forward to a cup of tea with you."

"and another pole, then I should be done" Coatl put the finale pylon in the small hole he had dug out and stepped back.

four pylons in each cardinal direction, each with a blood sigil of a clan, they were each all with a small copper wire hanging between them. in the middle of this experiment was a dead goat, its blood having been sucked out, he turned to look at his control panel as he began to turn a handle to small hatch, letting water flow of the ledge right next to him, as it fell it hit a water weel and which was connected to a primitive generator.

as the energy began rushing to the pylons the sigils began to light up, as they did Coatl began noting down "30% goat blood, 5% grinded copper, 40% grinded iron, 25% human blood" but just as he finished scribbling down in his notes the body of the goat began to violently shake, "NO NO GODDAMIT" Coatl groaned as the goat's body exploded.

"log 3: a failed experiment, maybe to much iron?" Coatl wrote as he began descending the small mountain, well now he needs to get another goat, great, another visit to the vulture tribe it was.

"FINALLY" he yelled as he emerged in the vulture tribe, getting some weird looks from people, he went over to the market and grabbed a new goat, then he began to make his way back home, the feast was in a few days, though he cared little for it, no his main goal of the feast was to study, how people would react, what they would eat, who they would talk too.

he made his way back home to there "grand" tribe, he had always hated how it looked "modern". such a perversion of technology, no we were supposed to guide nature not think of ourselves as its gods, that didn't matter anyway, he made his way across the tribe towards the closest building, nearly evading being run over by some punk kid, then he made his way up the building the "old" way, by walking, maybe that's why he was in such great shape?

he finally made his way up to the highest floor and got the draining station, yes he had asked for a draining station, it was a fun conversation, he began to set up the tube so that the goat blood would fall in the right barrel. after about an hour the goat was finally drained, he put the goat in the fridge and began to make his way down the building.

"next stop, rabbits," he thought to himself, he made his way to the rabbits, first now had he noticed the sun was up, "SHIT!" he thought "I forgot to write in my notes that it was evening" he finally arrived at the rabbit village. as he began searching for the tribes healer.

Nolan grunted as the weight of his kill seemed to grow on his back. He was lucky enough to get his hands on the boar, especially one of this size. The boar didn't go down as easily as he thought it would. What he thought was a killing blow left the boar alive and it charged him and made a big gash in his shoulder. He didn't have anything to cover his wound with till he got back home. For now, he just worried about getting this kill back to the village to feed the others. He feel to one knee, he needed to take a break. After a few moments, he got up and proceeded towards his village.

Once he arrived a bunch of children swarmed him asking him what happened, "It doesn't matter, don't you all have chores to do?" He asked authoritatively. The children scattered about making way for the man. Nolan walked his way over to a home and knocked on the door, a older man in his forties came out. "I got a nice kill for the village." He told the man who had a smile on his face. "Aye, that's a nice kill you got there. I'll skin it immediately and distribute it among the villagers, I'll make sure to give you a bigger piece of meat." The older man said taking the kill off of his hands. The older man noticed the large wound on Nolan's shoulder, "He got you good didn't he?" The old man said stating the obvious. Nolan smiled, "What'd you expect from the creatures out here? I'll be fine like always." Nolan said reassuring the man. He waved him goodbye and turned to go back home.

He moved his hand to get a feel how bad his wound was, it was still bleeding quite steadily. Nolan would have to throw a cloth bandage on it to stop the bleeding. His home was on the edge of the village, he built it there in case of invaders so he would be the first line of defense. His home was small stone cottage that he had built himself with a few others. He had built it so from a distance, it seems to blend in with the landscape. It was large enough for him and for his dog, Rex. When he opened his door, his dog came jumping on him and showered him with kisses. The border collie wanted to go on his hunt but Nolan decided not to bring him. The dog had a habit of running ahead of him to attack the prey. For certain prey, it worked but with boars, it could cost the dog's life. "Settle down boy." He said petting his head.

Nolan closed the door behind him and walked over to his cabinet, grabbing his cloth bandages. He held it against the wound wincing, his adrenaline wore off. He began to wrap it up and eventually covered it properly. His dog sat there watching him, expecting something. He groaned and got back up to open the cabinet again. He retrieved a jar and opened it revealing the jerky he had made for storage. He tossed a piece to the dog who snatched it out of mid-air. He put the jar away and closed the cabinet. He then proceeded out the back door to his outdoor workshop. This is where he had did all his stone sculpting or metal smithing. Once in his shed-like workshop, he grabbed some tools and began working on stone sculpture. His was a sculpture of his dog and he was close to being done. Today he figured he would work on it before going out to hunt again. The other hunters were efficient enough so he wasn't worried. What he was worried about was the festival. He hated going, being around all the other tribes. The last thing he wanted to see was one of their faces.

Adahy was up early doing perimeter checks. He had to make sure his people stayed safe. He had duties as leader now. He didnt need to hunt because he knew his hunters were already out gathering food for them.

When he was done he stopped by Nolan's house. He lived on the edge of the territory to protect them. He had become their tribe's best hunter. He knocked on the door. "Nolan! I came by to check on you!"

Nolan took off his mask and laid it onto his workshop's counter. It can get hot inside if left on for too long. He continued to sculpt away at the piece of stone with his tools, the sounds of metal on rock could be head from the shed. A few minutes later, he heard his dog barking inside and figured he probably had a visitor. He didn't get many visitors so Nolan was on edge as he made his way back inside the cottage. He was going to reach for his spear before he heard who's voice it was. He relaxed and quickly moved to open the door, shooing away his barking dog. "Sit!" He told his dog before opening the door. The dog obeyed and sat down, watching him open the door.

He opened the door to the sight of the tribal leader, Nolan, showing his best face to him. " G'day to you, I presume you needed to see me?" He asked nonchalantly. It wasn't uncommon that he'd come to the edge of the village but with the feast arriving soon, he may have some matters to discuss.

Elinora became quite giddy when Allabel mentioned the gladiolus bulbs. A fine new addition these beautiful flowers will be in her garden! Also a wonderful distraction for whenever she harvested food to bring to the Snake and Vulture tribes. "Oh yes, I would love some! They will certainly brighten up my garden!" Eli said as she gently clapped her hands in excitement. When the healer said she was about to head out to look for herbs and roots, Eli's eyes brightened up. Another wonderful opportunity to gather supplies. "Do you mind if I joined you? I do love to learn about the herbs you use for healing!" Eli said with eagerness, hopping slightly due to excitement. She had plenty of time before she would deliver the sacks of food and herbs, so joining Allabel would be perfect for one of the tribes leaders daughter to do.
Before Allabel could respond however, a man who seemed very out of place was roaming around in the Rabbit village. He was either from the Vulture or Snake tribe and if the leaders didn't grant permission- he could get in a lot of trouble. Squealing quietly, Eli subtly pointed at the man for Allabel to see as she whispered "He shouldn't be here! If my father finds out, he will certainly call and Eagle to escort him out..." And then instinctively, Eli hurried over to the man and with a concerned smile on her face, she directed him over to a hidden corner next to her home near Allabel so they could talk in private without others from the Rabbit Tribe witnessing. "Hello, sir. I am Elinora, the daughter of one of the Tribe leaders here. How may help you!" Eli said in obvious hurry to show that his presence here without permission or guidance from a Rabbit or Eagle member might be a danger for him. She did not want to let him leave without offering help, but she also did not want to see this man go through any trouble.

Allabel smiled. She knew Elinora would love them. "Of course you can come with me. It'll be nice talking to someone who's not a lizard." She laughed softly. She loved Baby, but it was nice talking to people.
She was a bit shocked when Eli hid behind her. But then she saw the person who was clearly not a Rabbit or Eagle. Her hand instinctively went to the little black vial she kept with her at all times. "Be careful." She called out quietly when she went to grab the man.
"What are you doing here in our territory? You are very clearly not a Rabbit or an Eagle." She put on a stern face, one she used very rarely. She stood up straighter, ready to defend her fellow Rabbits if she should need to.

Eldiza smiled when Eli arrived, “I’m doing great. How are you?” Eldiza was excited to see her friend. “I’m in town to buy supplies for the farm. Stopped by to see how you are doing.” She paused, “Is it really just a couple days until the big event? I’m so excited and so nervous.”

Upon being offered Gladiola bulbs from Allie, Eldiza took some, “Thanks! These will go great in the farm. I’m so glad baby is doing well. She is so cute.” Eldiza put her arm around Allie and Eli, “So good to be around friends. I love my family, but I really start to miss you two.”

The happy vibes ended when a strange man appeared. Eldiza had never seen a none rabbit before, so this unusual sighting was very unsettling for her. She hid behind a bush, peeking out with fear and curiosity.

Coatl was taken to a small corner by some strange girl which truly was just such an inconvenience, then she began talking"Hello, sir. I am Elinora, the daughter of one of the Tribe leaders here. How may help you!" such a hurry jeez relax, before he could finish that thought he noticed a weird woman before he could even speak she blurted out "What are you doing here in our territory? You are very clearly not a Rabbit or an Eagle"

he felt a rage inside of him, who the hell was she to speak to him like that, "you best cut your tongue woman before I do it for you" he hissed at her as he clicked a small button on his underhand, filling his mask with a fluorescent blue, extracted only from the fines eels of course.

all of mechanics though he had hidden under his heavy ropes as to hide it from others.

Kilmain Doudunnah staggered his old ass into the room and farted in everyones faces.
"Lo lamento for being late perras."
Kilmain burped.

Kilmain's assertion of dominance at the meeting finally allowed him to be crowned king of the vulture tribe. His next orders of business were to overthrow the eagle tribe while subjugating the rabbits and snakes. And most people lived under his thumb forever after.

The end.
