Yoshi has been the go to character in Nintendo for years. I mean seriously it's a tiny green dinosaur that practically screams adorable. He can swallow enemies and trap them in an egg, or spit them back out to take out even more targets. Yoshi probably will always make my top 5.
2) Link
Link from the Legend Of Zelda is a classic character. Although I do love both Adult and Child link, I find myself choosing the child version more often than not. Especially the Link from Windwaker.
3) Charizard
Out of the original starter pokemon I always found myself being drawn to Charizard. Don't get me wrong.. I love Pikachu, but the moment Ash got Charmander I completely fell in love with the character. He was shown to be a brave and loyal pokemon, an addition to the team that genuinely warmed my heart. As for why Charizard takes the crown over his devolved state is merely because at an early age I took to Charizard because he was one of the first characters I had ever played as in a game.
4) Luigi
There is really no completely sentimental reason as to why Luigi takes number 4 other than him being the underdog for the entire series. His clueless aura and clumsiness were humorous, and it was hard not to love him as a character.
5) Tails
Same as Luigi, Tails was the sidekick in the story. He was always overshadowed by Sonic, when tails was a far more interesting character.
5.) The Great Mighty Poo, from Conker's Bad Fur Day, for being the weirdest boss in any game, ever.
4.) Clank, from Ratchet and Clank, for being the best backpack a guy could have.
3.) Conker, from Conker's Bad Fur Day, for being one hell of a bastard.
2.) Daxter, from Jak and Daxter, for the quips.
1.) Raz, from Psychonauts, for having, at least in my opinion, the most unique player-character design in a videogame. Well, as far as humans go, anyway.
Yes, I'm a fan of the PS2 era.
Yes, I played a lot of platformers.
Yes, I do think there will never be a console generation as fun as that one again.
5. (tie) Edward Kenway and Ezio Auditore, Assassin's Creed. A pair of fun-loving jokers... who can slit your throat before realize they're there.
4. The Illusive Man, Mass Effect. Mainly for his appearance in ME2. A sleazy bastard who makes you want to shudder every time he shows up... and he's working WITH you!
3. Prompto Argentum, Final Fantasy XV. Equally quick with his quips and his guns.
2. Haytham Kenway, Assassin's Creed. A villain who can make you question whether or not he's right and the hero's wrong? Sign me up!
1. Garrus Vakkerian, Mass Effect. The best sniper in the galaxy, and a great friend. Whether the shots are whiskey or a thousand yards with a rifle, he's the one video game character I'd want by my side, bar none.
