Tony doesn't expect much from his time at the Avengers Academy. Well, officially. He's only here because his AI and he agreed it might be a good idea after being recently orphaned. But unofficially he's really excited and tries to advance both his inventions and being Ironman. Even though he shows more interest in tinkering and therefore trying to improve any given technical device.

To impress his father, Tony started showing interest in science from a very young age. But unfortunately young Tony never really got along with his father and had been send off to one boarding school to another. The summer and Christmas holiday which he spent with his mother and father had been filled with tales about the infamous Captain America and Howard shouting at him drunk. The only person who seemed to understand him was his mother and Jarvis - their butler - who was more of a father figure to him than his own one.
Not even a month ago, his parents had bid their farewell to drive to a gala. Much to his shock, his parents never arrived their. In fact his father had crashed the car against a tree. By the time, someone found them, they had bled to death. His mother's death had hurt Tony deeply and ever since he refused doing everything. Guilt and grief had taken over as he blamed himself for their death or better say for his mother's death. He should've made her stay at him instead of leaving with his father. Two weeks after the funeral a man had approached him telling him about this SHIELD thing. Well, now he was here training to be a superhero. But actually he found no motivation at all.
