ToG In Character Chat

As soon as everyone finished the test...

"The test is over. In roughly 40 minutes, you will be announced your asigned positions" it was the voice of another male Ranker. This one's voice was deep and simingly emotionless. A portal was generated in each room. In some cases some people from the staff came to treat the wounded Regulars and try to heal the aquatic cats which could be saved. The Ranker spoke again "The portals will teleport you to your respective rooms".

Once they'd arrive in their rooms, as the announcer said before, each team would find a big TV screen and a remote control, to watch each team match at a time.

"Regular Nyra, I'd like to see you in my office later" said Yu Han Sung, which appeared before Nyra and her teammates once they finished the test.

Once they'd watch the fights of the other teams more than 40 minutes would have passed, and they'd be able to see the results:

 • Nyra- Anima
 • Seefi- Spear Bearer
 • Orin- Wave Controller
 • Osin- Light Bearer
 • Tok- Fisherman
 • Selicity- Scout
 • Illiam- Scout
 • Ningor-Scout
 • Aerum- Defender

The names of Daz's team did not appear, nor would a recording of their fight be available, because FUG pulled some strings and they'd all immediately start advanced training and ultimately leave the floor without having to take the rest of the tests.

Nyra

Nyra stood in front of the door, on the other side of which she supposed she would find the floor director. She would knock and enter soon, but for now she just stood in front of it as she silently struggled to suppress her growing dislike for the person on the other side of the door. Ullyr let out a low rumble beside her. She rubbed the feline's ears to calm it.

After the horrible test fighting the aquatic wildcats Nyra had refused to let them take away the one she had promised to keep safe. In a rare moment of anger she had called out Yazi and Siri to force her point. She would not give up this creature. So the aquatic wildcat was still with her, not leaving Nyra's side for a moment since the trial. She had given it the name Ullyr. And as if picking up on Nyra's thoughts, the creature seemed to have a dislike for the person on the other side of the door already.

She clutched the glass bowl containing Yazi and Siri in front of her as if shielding her from whatever it was the director had in store for her as she knocked on the door. "Nyra," she announced herself.

Yu Han Sung- Meeting Nyra Again

The door automatically opened. Yu Han Sung was sitting as usual at his desk, drinking some coffee. He watched Nyra entering with her usual pets, as well as a new one. "That Aquatic Wild Cat seems to have acknowledged you as its master. Interesting" was the first thing he said. He noted that the Regular wasn't very fond of him, calling the two eels and making them stay in front of her seemed to be a defense mechanism. Was he that scary? He seemed to be for Nyra.

"Contrary to what you may belive, I didn't call you here to punish, or scold you" as he said that he looked at the two creatures in front of Nyra intensely. He wanted the two eels to understand who sat at the top of the food chain in that particular room, and he belived that his intense gaze and presence were enough for that. "You were given the Anima position, for obvious reasons. If you're not famliar with the term, it is a highly special and rare position and refers to individuals who subjugate and control creatures, mostly Shinheuh" he paused and looked at Nyra again, no longer interested in her two escorts "You, along side with another Regular, will have a special type of training compared to the rest. Just wanted you to know that your teacher will be me, and its going to be tough" he paused and smirked, but then he became serious again "Also, being soft and kind has its advantages, but just so you know, I've seen quite a few people with personalities like yours. In the end, they suffered more than the rest. Much more" with that said, Yu Han Sung got up from his chair and came a little closer. "That would be all. If you have some questions, I am willing to listen and eventually answer them. If not, then see you tomorrow."

Tok Stonebreaker- Watching the Video

Before he'd know what position he was assigned (Fisherman), Tok took back the daggers that he gave to Osin (he changed his oppinion of the guy, he was quite impressive) and watched the video containing the battles of the various teams against the Shinheuh. Some of them barely passed, and some others were average. The Accel-Turtle knew that such individuals wouldn't pose a threat to his team. But then there were exceptions. While he didn't think much of Seefie, her two other team mates were very powerful from what Tok could tell. Selicity didn't even break a sweat, while Illiam defeated it in a wierd miniature form and without even resuming to any fighting technique. What he did was quite wierd, though. Then he was really surprised by the team composed of Aerum, Ningor, and Orin. Aerum's abilites were simply ridiculous, Ningor was fast, precise, and had an incredibly dangerous Ignition Weapon, and Orin , while not dominating the creature like the other two, was adaptable, and could give Shinsoo water properties, which meant that he had huge potential.

He and Osin had to wait for Nyra, who was summoned by the Submerged Fish, but there still were some things which he wanted to discuss with the antler snail. "Two of these teams seem particularly dangerous, don't you think?" he asked.

Ningor Frostnova- Watching the Video, Hated by Aerum

It was only a matter of minutes until Ningor would have known his position (Scout), and until then he'd watch the battles of the other people, together with his team mates. As he thought, both had interesting and strong skills, even though something was fishy and dislikeable about Aerum, while Orin needed more self confidence, but that wasn't of particular importance at the moment. Ningor wanted to see if any team would pose a threat to his own. Not surprising, but still disapointing, many teams weren't particularly strong, nor were they dangerous. But two certain teams caught his attention. While seeing Illiam fight reinforced Ningor's oppinion of him being wierd, he couldn't deny that the guy handled the creature with great ease. Seefi seemed to have experience in dealing with such types of creatures and had good fighting skills. While she wasn't exactly impressive, she had potential. Selicity was obviouly fast, strong, and didn't even need to try hard, but ,for some reason, her fight against the wild cat seemed a bit off. Ningor couldn't figure out exactly how, though.

The team formed of Osin, Nyra, and Tok came up afterwards. Peculiar team, to say the least. Osin simply tired it and didn't even show his skills, Nyra talked it into submission after intimidating it with one of her eels, and Tok was simply strong. A muscular guy who was also fast, a girl who could tame and command ferocious beasts, and a guy who was a complete enigma. Truly terrifying.

"Most of these teams are underwhelming, but these two teams in particular may be quite problematic to face" he said, talking to his team mates.

Illiam

Sweet relief?

It was an ordeal within itself to pry Illiam from the cat's ear.  Many men dressed in uniforms came into the room in order to free the exhausted cat from Illiam's grasp.  The first man came in, stepped towards Illiam, and lightly put his hand on the small boy's large head, telling him calmly it was time to leave.  Illiam did not respond, he only stopped to glance at the man before returning to the ear.  Again the man tried to remove Illiam, this time a bit more forceful.  His attempt was met with Illiam throwing the man like a rag doll across the room.  As the man was sent barreling though the air, his accomplices began flooding into the room.  They surrounded Illiam, who took to standing on all fours and snarling like a feral animal.  There was a primal instinct to protect what he had won, and he would protect it till the end!  The men circled him, slowly closing in, and when they were close enough, they pounced on Illiam.

It's a fight!

Although Illiam wasn't truly fighting, more waving his arms around wildly and hoping to hit something, he still posed quite the challenge.  His firsts were slow, but when they connected it sent whomever was on the unlucky side flying.  Screaming and yelling his war cry, Illiam gave all the fight he had, which was really little more then a heated tantrum.  In time however the men overwhelmed Illiam, with a man restraining each limb, Illiam was quickly, although not quietly, subdued.  The team of seven threw Illiam though the portal and into his room.  Illiam, flying though the air, landed on one of the beds, it smelled like how Selicity felt, like butter.  Illiam felt all the strength drain from his body, sleep began to over take him, his eyes began to flutter closed.  In only a few short seconds, Illiam was fast asleep.

When Seefi and Selicity would finally enter they would be greeted to Illiam, sleeping in a small puddle of drool and muttering something about how the ears belong to him, and him alone.

@The One Eyed Bandit @QuirkyAngel

Stepping into their room, Seefi snatched the now-youthful Illiam up by the back of his collar without a moments hesitation. Dangling the dozing boy in front of her, she frowned. Tiny. Why was he so tiny? Illiam was supposed to be bigger than this. Taller and lankier. She'd not questioned it before due to the surprise of having her... Her ear nibbled, but now that he was just hanging there like that, it almost hit her how bizarre it was. Almost. Yesterday, she'd seen things she could only describe to be magic. She'd seen floating steel and she was fairly sure she saw that scary old woman pull much the same as this. So the shock of it all was beginning to dull on her. That, and she was just a little more annoyed than she was confused.

Seriously, ear nibbling?

"Illiam..." As her lips moved, Seefi wanted to sound uncharacteristic. Annoyed. Angry and furious. "Don't do that again! Doing that kind of thing to my ears is... Uncomfortable, OK!?" Instead, she could only sound like a frustrated mother. Or a frustrated older sister. She wasn't exactly faint of heart, and she'd her fair share of rudeness to her every now and again... But the gall to just yell at a near-stranger like Illiam? As someone who'd met more people in the past two days that she had in the past two years, the idea was beyond her. Especially when they were so tiny...

Tiny and cute...

God, she fucking hated tiny and cute. Smelly, stupid, and splattery, more like. At least none of the obnoxious little thing's blood and gone and gotten on her dress. Her Palisades, on the other hand, were smeared in the stuff. And her knuckles had themselves a decent splattering on them too. Thinking such crass thoughts, Areum ran her hands and gear through a cold stream of water. At least, after such an annoying test as that, the guys in charge had the wit to give the the role she deserved. Heh. Maybe scrawny pale faced ass would have a little respect now. Though, she kind of doubted it. A bumpkin like him probably didn't even realize how much of a rarity getting to work with a role like Defender was... Tch. Then again, after watching that Nyra girl, she was beginning to think that scrawny wasn't the worst possible thing. Unlike Miss Bandages, he'd actually had the guts to kill the stupid little furball. None of that stupid tree-hugging nonsense. And she was an Anima, too? Did she think just because she could control the little things it didn't mean she couldn't hurt them? For the girl's sake, and for her amusement, she hoped this floor threw something with rabies at her. Tiny, cute, and with rabies. That'd teach her a lesson.

"Scary, huh? Especially that tiny one! Can you imagine, getting ear suckled into submission? How embarrassing would that be?" Despite his marathon with the wildcat, and his probable lack of sleep, Oisin was as just as bright eyed as ever. "But let's not talk about that! Since its just you and me this time... Let's chat! Like I'm sure you and Nyra did last night! Or at least, like I hope you and Nyra did last night. You got in a real tense fight with that one with the spear, right? What do you think of her performance her? Quaking in your boots? Relieved? Disappointed?" Slowly, Oisin sunk into his bed as he spoke. Despite his demeanor, and despite his desire, his body was tired. His mind, perhaps not, but that just meant he could recognize the need for a nap. The moment this chat was over, he'd be dozing in moments. He would, after all, need his energy for the night, if he'd any intent of getting a proper scope on this place. He hadn't even managed to get through a quarter of what he wanted last night! And he could hardly go about it while he was waiting to get pulled into another test. So, as much as it pained him, he'd have to sacrifice his valuable time with his wonderful team, for now.

Greater good, and whatnot.

Selicity Faars

“Hehe, Seeeefiiiii,” Selicity purred amusedly. Curled on the couch in a lazy, cat-like position, the silver-haired girl pointed a remote to the large screen provided to them by the test administrators. Flipping through the videos of many aquatic cat battles, Selicity stopped at Illiam’s performance during the exam and rewound it, playing it again. She winked at Seefie. “You got lucky you know. Compared to what Little Illiam did to the poor aquatic kitty there, he didn’t nibble on you quite as much.”

Selicity had watched all the other participants and their battles, but she was more interested her teammates than the other the other teams. It didn’t matter how good their opponents were. If she had good friends to climb the tower with, people who could coordinate well with her, then she was confident there wasn’t a single obstacle they couldn’t overcome. Especially with her and Illiam on the team. Illiam was quite the weirdo, but there was no denying his strength. Nor the ease in which he passed the shinsoo barrier.

“I can’t put my finger on it,” Selicity murmured thoughtfully as she watched Illiam fight off the men in uniform that went to retrieve him. “But there’s something different about him than the rest of us.”

Not just his display of power. Nor the odd way he acted many times. It was something else. Something that made him dangerous. Instincts told her so. Eying the sleeping boy, Selicity sighed. “Or not.”

If they weren't on the same team, she'd have welcomed an opportunity to fight against Illiam. Just to see what he was really made of. Stretching her arms, Selicity returned herself to a more proper sitting position with one leg crossed over another and a single palm under her chin as she stared at the screen with her one eye. “Don’t mind me. I think Illiam’s weirdness is rubbing off on me. You were really good back there--the way you hunted the cat and handled your weapon. He didn’t see the spear coming at all. That’s probably why they made you a spear bearer”

Flashing a grin at Seefie, Selicity proceeded to to flip through the many acquatic cat battles, even though she’d already seen them all. There wasn’t much else to watch—nothing entertaining at least. There was one girl, Nyra, that befriended the cat. The feline seemed to instinctively trust her…which was odd. Selicity tilted her head.

Is it some sort of ability?

“I wonder why Illiam and I are scouts? The ice guy’s a scout as well...” There was nothing similar about how any of them dealt with the aquatic cat. Nothing particularly ‘scout-like’ either…though Selicity, in all honesty, she didn’t know much about positions. All she knew was what the village chief told her. And the chief only told her that climbed the tower liked to fight in teams and that members of each team took different roles—which made sense.  Watching Ningor activate his ignition weapon and freeze over the cat, Selicity’s iris—which was blue—flashed golden.

“He’s got a pretty cool sword. But I still like Athlene the best” Nodding to herself, Selicity got to her feet, turned off the TV and placed it on a nearby table. A black pocket appeared beside her, displaying the time. Her gaze flickered to Illiam who was still being dangled by Seefie. “Might as well let him sleep. He stayed up all night cleaning the building with a toothbrush after all. We can wake him when the next test starts.” She smiled playfully. "In the meantime, let's do something fun with just the two of us. Do you know any games?"

Evelyn Wicker

“Hmmm. Is that so?” Evelyn rubbed his chin, seeming to ponder everything that Azalea told him. Though, where his eyes actually lingered, spoke otherwise. False green orbs trailed up her legs, to her hips, then chest, traveled every inch of her, until finally landing on her face. Nodding to himself, the High Ranker allowed a slow deliberate smirk to form on his dark face.

“You are aware of my history with Prime, aren’t you Azalea?” Removing his hand from his chin, Evelyn flipped his hair so that the black tresses flowed freely behind his back. His gaze never left the Scorpion Fish’s. “I couldn’t care less whether he dies.”

Though it would be a terrible waste of a God. And Evelyn disliked waste. Folding his arm across his chest, Evelyn leaded against the closed door of the room he’d rented for his and Argeus’s meeting. “Though I do wonder why you’re telling me all this. Are you trying to include me in whatever fun you’re involved in?” Shaking his head in amusement, Evelyn shrugged and answered Azelea’s question. “The tower is what it is. It doesn’t need anyone to do anything. Rather, it’s the people that climb the tower that need something from the tower. And the ones who successfully make it to the top are the ones with the power to change its structure—establish the routine you currently see. ”

That was what Zahard did when he created his empire. He created  a top. And he made others believe that the ‘top’; was the end of their journey. But Evelyn knew there was more to the tower than just that. Waihaksong. FUG. The Zahard Empire. He’d affiliated with all three at once or more in his past. Joined whichever interested him the most at the time, whenever the balance of power shifted. But in terms of loyalty to any particular group, Evelyn had none. “Change just for the sake of change, huh?” Evelyn chuckled, speaking aloud his thoughts. “Weeelll, I won’t deny that monotony is terribly dull—any not a very healthy way of living. That I can agree with.”

Evelyn’s gaze flickered to Argeus who was as much his employee as his client. Guiding an irregular who wanted to destroy FUG was already shifting the power balance to the Zahard Empire. Tipping scales is what brought about revolution. He wondered which side the other two irregulars who recently  entered the tower would choose when given the option. Evelyn grinned. No. He already had a vague idea.

“What do you think Argeus?” Evelyn asked casually, his eyes gleaming. “The Satyrs were also victims of errant revolutionists wishing to see a change in the tower, so it's only fair to include you in this conversation as well. Based on what you've seen so far, do you think the tower needs to change?”

@Azure Sky

@SleepyBuddha

20th Floor

Argeus listened silently to the two of them talking. He hadn't paid much attention to the many factions within the Tower and how his actions might affect the delicate power balance. He didn't think how many innocent people he would eventually maim and kill in the pursuit of his vengeance for what happened to his race. In all honesty he knew what he was doing would probably destroy a great many lives and in the end the destruction of FUG wouldn't bring his Species back from extinction. No to truly get what he wanted it wasn't the destruction of FUG he needed. It was the Tower itself. With its power he could easily bring back the Satyr species, but climbing this tower required more power than he currently had. Which means he was going to need some friends....

" I don't seek to change anything within this tower. I am no revolutionary with a banner at my back. No great cause to rally supporters.  I don't care what goes on within this tower, but I will use it to my own ends. First I will bring my kind back from destruction, I'll pick a floor and settle my species there. Then I'll destroy FUG for the pain and suffering it has caused me and mine. Nothing more and nothing less. So long as the KIngs of this tower leaves me and my kind be I have no problems with peace.  Revolution only leads to unnecessary bloodshed for an unattainable ideal.... but I honor my debts. If you help me restore my kind to prosperity then I will help you with your vision of the future."

Even after saying all that Argeus had already begun making a contingency plan. He had planted at least one of his Baams on each floor and like any tree it will naturally grow and propagate. With enough time and care those trees could supply him power to challenge even the Zahard. At least that was what Argeus thought. The more Baams he plants to greater his future strength, but the less power he has over all. The Satyr was playing the long game. He just hoped he stayed on the board long enough to see a return on his investments.

Time Skip- Next Day

As all the Regulars gathered in the main hall of the building, Yu Han Sung appeared as well. Behind him there were all the other members of the staff. "Greetings Regulars, and congratulations on passing the tests so far" he said, before looking at chibi Illiam and smirking. "Today you will start your lessons. A Ranker of the staff will be assigned to teach each position. The exception will be Aerum Eurasia, as her Defender postion is quite special. She will train with all of the Rankers and will learn how to defend against all the usual Postions and another quite special Postion: Anima. The Regular Nyra is the only one with that position here. I will teach her myself " after he finished saying that, the Submerged Fish started to present each Ranker who will be in charge of teaching:

 • For Fishermen: Keylow Spectrum
 • For Spear Bearers: Weiss Delta
 • For Light Bearers: Blink
 • For Scouts: Yaga Jeyen
 • For Wave Controllers: Ran aka Cerberus (hasn't arrived yet)

The Ranker Weiss Delta stepped in and began to talk as well. "Apart from lessons, each of you will receive 500 Points. For those of you who are not familliar with them, Points are one of the Tower's main monetary units. You will need 5 points for each meal. To gain extra Points you will need to partecipate in certain events. Not all events are mandatory, and remaining without Points will not get you disqualified. But without points you cannot eat, if you cannot eat you cannot have the energy necessary to perform in an acceptable way. And that may get you disqualified. Now then, there are a few non-mandatory events which you can partecipate in to gain Points" Weiss proceeded with explaining about those events:

 • 1-on-1 combat: as the name implies, Regulars from different teams can fight in one-on-one battles, where they bet the same amount of Points. Other Regulars can also make bets on who the winner could be.
 • Dice: Two times a day each Regular can spend 5 Points to use the Dice System. Basically, they throw two six-faced dice and the sum of the numbers on said dice will be the number of Points they gain.
 • Riddles: once a day, each Regular can try to solve a riddle for a certain amount of Points. If they fail, they lose the amount that he riddle was worth.
 • 5-minute King Siege: this is a team vs team game. Each team will try to get the golden crown that is protected by powerful Guardians and bring it to the goal. They can interfere with eachother. The team which wins gains 30 poins for each member, the team which fails will lose the same amount.

"Coincidently, these non-mandatory tests will be the only ones you will do during the teaching period" he added. Yu Han Sung stepped up yet again. "Now then, usually teaching should have started today, but since Cerberus is not here, you can start to directly partecipate in these non-mandatory events. Tomorrow, Cerberus will be here, and you'll spend twice as much time learning, to compensate for today. That would be all" after finishing what he had to say Yu Han Sung and the rest of the Rankers walked away and disappeared from sight.

Eheh. Now that was good news! Areum grinned. She could fight whichever one of these no-name Regular she wanted AND get a reward out of it? Man, she'd already been planning on teaching one or two of them a lesson, so this was like getting handed cash on a silver platter!

"Alright!" She didn't waste a moment. "You! With the dark hair and the pale skin! I'm challenging you to 1-on-1 Combat!" Her finger brandished towards her quarry, Areum's eyes locked with Illiam. "Five-hundred credits bet! Whoever loses goes without food until they can scrounge up some more!" Heh. That'd do it. He couldn't very well back down from that, could he? Not without looking like a coward too concerned with eating a meal or two than with showing his worth.

She almost felt bad, but it was his fault for standing out as much as he did.

"Er..." One of his partners, a woman with fox ears decided to speak up. "Are you... Sure about that? That's all you have to eat..."

"What are you implying?"

"W-well,it's a pretty big risk... And Illiam is quite strong..."

"Huh? Are you insulting me?"

"What? No! No no, I'm just trying to hel-"

"Listen here, lady! I can take your buddy here, trust me! I don't need you trying to pity me or whatever it is you're doing! Get it!?"

"..." This woman definitely gave her a bad feeling. That brash attitude of hers, it somehow reminded her of that savage of a turtle she'd faced off against during the first trial. Though, she had to admit that compared to her, he definitely had a more... Noble atmosphere to him. This green haired girl, considering how quickly just her words had angered her, felt like someone dangerous. Even if she lost. Or rather, especially if she lost. Her instincts were telling her that, if they wanted the easy way out of this, just backing down would be the best course of action.

But she doubted Illiam would be in favor of that idea.

"R-right..." She didn't say another word. If she couldn't talk the girl down, then this was Illiam's choice, after all.

...And he kind of deserved some sort of bother after the ear incident.

Illiam

It was going to be a rough set of days, Illiam could tell this much to be true.  Even though he managed to rest the day before Illiam's internal clock was still messed up beyond hope of repair.  The pale black haired boy was still groggy and slightly irritated, and it didn't help that he was three feet tall.  Caught in the morning rush of Regulars Illiam was pushed and dragged along in the current of people.  He hardly resisted it, rather he let the crowd take him to destination unknown.  The stream began to dissipate once he entered a great hall of sorts.  Important elderly looking people stood before him, one of them began to speak.  It was hard for Illiam to keep his mind from wandering, he hardly paid any attention to the blonde man as he spoke about things that would ultimately be important for Illiam to hear.

Even though the pale boy was in a daze he could tell when all was said and done.  Although Illiam had no greater understanding of the situation at hand one thing was for sure; someone was yelling in his direction with the most shrill voice the boy had heard in ages.  Cocking his head to the side to face the voice, Illiam found a woman of Christmas colors looking right at him.  She seemed to want to stir up some trouble for the small boy.  A one on one battle and something about 500 points.  It didn't take a lot of guessing to figure out just what the girl wanted, she wanted a fight, she wanted to win, she wanted first blood.  Normally Illiam would pounce on the opportunity, but the chance to catch up on some still needed rest was far more tempting.  He could heard his soft bed, his pillows filled with down, calling for him.  But his ears caught her voice again, yelling at someone else.  When the boy turned to face the Christmas girl yet again, he found her raising her voice at Seefi.  The call of his bed was silenced, and only one option remained.

"Alright green, you win.  I'll kick your ass if that's really what you want."  As the small Illiam walked over to the green girl he cracked every joint he could, mostly as intimidation.  He flashed a sly smile, showing only confidence in his ability to make true on his words.

"It's never too late to back down.  It would be easier for both of us if we walked our separate ways.  But then again," there was a pause, and his smile only grew larger.  "No day is complete without a blood bath."

@The One Eyed Bandit

Selicity Faars

Standing beside her teammates, Selicity had been scrutinizing Yaga Jeyen—the scout instructor that made Illiam clean with a toothbrush—when she heard the un-mistakable sound of a challenge directed at her shrunken teammate. Cat ears perking up, she directed her golden-eyed gaze towards the verdant- haired girl in a frilly dress—looking her up and down. It was the girl who used the odd shields. The one with the special defender position that blondie test director was talking about.

“Aerum Eurasia...” Selicity tested the name Yu Han Sung mentioned, a grin forming on her face. “How fun.”

Seefie’s attempt at trying to talk Aerum out of a fight only seemed to egg the girl on. And Illiam didn’t seem to back down either…tired though he was.  Selicity giggled when the small boy accepted the challenge, cracking every joint he could as if trying to be intimidating. Neither Aerum nor Illiam(in his current state) looked very intimidating...appearance-wise at least. But of course, appearances can be deceiving…and Illiam’s display of strength was nothing to joke about. Selicity was curious. She wanted to how strong Illiam was. And if she couldn’t fight him herself, watching him fight other Regulars was the next best thing.

“It’s okay. It’s okay.” Selicity patted Seefie’s shouder with an armored hand. “I’m sure the two of them know what they’re doing,”

The fox-eared girl was far too nice, worrying about another team’s regular. But then, that was what she liked about Seefie. She was nice. Illiam…was a weirdo. But a fun one. And a strong one. Probably. She’d never actually seen Illiam fight seriously. Selicity half-hoped Aerum would be able to draw out a good fight from the strange boy. The other half of her wanted Illiam to win…and  win badly against the arrogant girl that underestimated him and lashed out at Seefie.

“I’ll bet 100 points on Illiam,” Selicity purred, before morphing into her cat form, and leaping on top of a strange looking contraption the size of a vending machine. It was a good enough spot to watch a fight. Then, glancing at Illiam, the kitten spoke. “Seefie probably won’t appreciate too much blood. But if you lose, I’m not sharing food with you.”

Pawing playfully at the several colorful buttons in front of her, Selicity hissed, backing away a bit when the machine suddenly came to life and spat out two dice. Curious, the kitten inched forward and tapped the buttons again.

Anima. Individuals who subjugate and control creatures, mostly Shinheuh. That was how Yu Han Sung had described it. Nyra's mood darkened at the slightest thought of that vile man. The thought of having him as her teacher made her skin crawl. Subjugate? Control? What a terrible person he must be to think such things. She simply showed the creatures of the tower the respect and love they desired, and they responded. He'd called her soft. Fine then, she'd show him that she could be hard. If it was him it would be easy.

Ullyr's ears flicked back in response to her mood shift. She rubbed its neck to calm the feline. Siri and Yazi could be stored away compressed inside their glass bowl, but since she didn't have any others the adopted wildcat had been just following her around. She'd forced it to stop trying to maul Tok and Oisin, but the same could not be said for anyone else that got too close. There was one other exception actually, one of the other regulars. Nyra didn't now his name, but he had black hair. Ullyr got nervous whenever he was around for some reason.

And he had just been called out for the first battle. One of his teammates bet 100 points on him winning, and that was how she learned his name was Illiam. She'd remember to be careful around him in the future, but right now...  "I'd like to bet 200 points on Illiam winning," she spoke up.

She turned her back to the other regulars to face Tok and Oisin. "So, uh, what do you think we should do? They've given us quite a few options."

...

They were an arrogant bunch, weren't they? One of them warning her, one of them betting against her, and the last having the fucking audacity to talk down to her. But it wasn't like he was wrong. Beating little shits like him into submission was always a great way to start off the day.

"Rrrriiiggghhhttt..." Being angry was normal for her, but because of this she was actually getting a little happy. Her first, second, and third targets were already settled on. "I suppose we should get started, since you seem so eager about it, right?" If this were a usual situation, she'd have attacked at that moment. But, considering all of this was under the Rankers' jurisdiction, she restrained herself. That, and she definitely couldn't have some petty little idiots calling her a cheating for making the first attack.

"But before that-" Keeping her gaze fixed on Illiam, Areum made her way from the scene, and eventually from the room, finishing up the conversation as she went. "I'll have to get this organized, wont I? Let me go find one of the Rankers who decided to run off without us... Though I bet at least one of them is still listening in from somewhere, don't you think?"

She was smiling again. The thought of loss hadn't even crossed her mind.

"Just relax, or get ready, or whatever it is you wanna do until we can get started, kay?"

Only the thought of how satisfying this was going to be.

"That was certainly... Something..." As she stepped out of the room, Seefi sighed with relief. With her attitude, she was surprised the girl didn't just attack Illiam right there and then. She supposed even people like that were reasonable enough to know when to respect procedure. "Do you need any help getting ready, or... It's probably not too late to change your mind, you know?" Wait. That didn't sound right. "I-I mean! I don't think you'll lose..." One more time, she sighed, this time at herself. She was probably just worrying too much.

"No no. Ignore that." She smiled. "Go beat her! I'm sure it'll feel good after her saying all those cruel things. Just er- Don't make a bloodbath? That'd be... A bit too much, right, Sel?" Right, she just needed to relax. Illiam would be fine, the girl wouldn't be an issue, and everything would be okay. For once, she just needed to ignore her instincts. They probably were just being too cautious, after being out in the wild for so long.

Oisin Ha'raa

"What should WE do?" As per the norm, Oisin grinned like some sort of maniac. "Oh man! I'm flattered, Nyra thinks of as a we! You hear that, Tok? Isn't it great?" What a great surprise! The best kind! He'd gotten the impression that his team thought of him as some kind of useless loser- and he certainly couldn't blame them- so this was a great boost to his spirits! Well, it wasn't like he was in a bad mood before or anything, but whatever. That didn't matter. It wasn't like there was a limit on human happiness or anything.

"As for me, though, I'm going to go and watch that fun fight you just bet on. I've been wanting to check out that little guy since that ear-suckling incident!" It really was unfortunate. He hadn't even spoken to that guy yet! He'd been intending to get to know him while he was being punished into scrubbing down the halls... But that plan never ended up coming to fruition. Though he was kind of glad! That was before he got tiny and cute. Back he'd just wanted to chat, but now he wanted to ruffle his adorable little head and give him candy and-!

Well, that was a lie.

He actually kind of hated kids.

Granted, Illiam hadn't actually turned into a kid, but regardless, he still didn't want to pet him or shower him in treats. Just a nice chat, still.

"So, unless you guys wanna challenge someone to that team battle thing, how about we go do that?~ We can go shower Lil-Illy in praise if he wins, doesn't that sound like fun? You like cute things, don't you Nyra? Think about it, maybe he'll let us cuddle him if we cheer hard enough! Doesn't that sound swell?"

The Ranker (secretly High Ranker) walked towards Illiam's group, after Aerum left, and put his hand on little Illiam's head. "This may give you a temporary unplesant feeling," as he said that he released Counter Waves through his hand, gradually weakening and eventually destroying the technique which Yu Han Sung used to shrink Illiam. The Irregular would have felt shaken up from within and drained, as if his entire energy would have left his body, but only for a few seconds. Illiam would have finally been back to normal.

"Your fight will take place in a specially designed arena. Two bots will come search for you and teleport you there, 15 minutes before the match actually begins. Regulars who desire to watch, and eventually bet, will be asked by the same type of bot and teleported as well. The bots will come in roughly 30 minutes" said Deltron, before casually walking away.

Wierdly enough, another Ranker approached Illiam. This one was Yaga. "So, you do have some discipline in you, huh?" she asked, rethorically. She saw footage of Illiam cleaning the residential building after all. "Listen, brat, this is your fist lesson," Yaga formed a baang of Shinsoo in her palm "Imagine that you can gather all the wonders of this world within your palm, that is the first step." with that said, Yaga also casually walked away. The other Regulars looked at the scene, being confused.

"I will refrain from betting for now. I am, however, interested in this fight. So I'll simply come to watch" was all that the accel-turtle had to say.

Illiam Herlaa

It took a moment for Illiam to realize just how much of a mess he got himself into.  He wasn't thinking straight, and somewhere deep down he knew this to be true.  This Tower was so foreign to him, he knew almost nothing about those within it.  It was so exciting!  This Tower had yet to truly disappoint, the boy was giddy thinking about what pain was to be had in the coming minutes.  The excitement of the unknown was too much to bear, and this Tower was a variable enigma buffet!  What wasn't to love.  Illiam found himself nearly skipping with joy, wondering who would be the one to crack like an egg in that arena.  He was just about to see if he could find a weapon, a pipe or something of that nature, but before he could a man began walking his way.

A man unknown to Illiam came up to the small boy and placed his hands upon Illiam's head.  According to the man, Illiam was in for some pre-fight pain.  Illiam was ready, although the sudden feeling of being shaken from within came as a shock regardless.  He bit his tongue, resisting the urge to writhe from discomfort as the strangely familiar feeling shook his very core.  The unpleasant feelings didn't stop there, as Illiam then felt himself grow until he was finally back to his normal size.  Iliam could hardly utter a word to the strange man before he began explaining what was to happen next, then walked away.  As he walked, Illiam muttered under his breath.

"Thanks."

Next, Grandma Yaga took her turn.  Illiam gave his elder a prideful smile when she commented on his discipline; agreeing with her statement completely.  Next he listened to what she had to say, however strange it was to hear.  It was hard to make heads or tails of Yaga's "lesson" but Illiam tried his best.  Illiam then gazed at his own palm, putting all his focus into doing as Yaga said.  His hand trembled, his gaze didn't dare waver and his mind remand focused on the one goal before him.  In the end, nothing, Illiam felt nothing.  He tried again, nothing.  Then, he tried once more, truly focusing he pictured the worlds wonders, but gathered nothing.  Then, he pictured a different wonder, the image of a snake devouring all came into his mind, and with this seemingly random image, a spark arched across Illiam's palm.  Blue electricity that felt the same as the electricity that filled his dagger in the first floor.

"I think I got something here.  Looks like Green is in for a shock."  Illiam wanted to then laugh, but the realization of what he had just muttered hit him hard.  He shuddered in disgust as he looked around to see who was nearby.  Seeing the coast was relatively clear Illiam went off, in quite a hurry, to learn more of this new found ability in private.

"I really hope no one heard that..."

Areum Eurasia

She could practically feel the crowd's jeering.

"She doesn't stand a chance.."

"Did you see that dude in the exams!?"

"I bet half my points on this!"

"Good riddance, family girl!"

The arena was certainly impressive, but this atmosphere was definitely what was getting her into the mood. She'd been expecting this, of course. Even she wasn't so self-centered as to not realize how much of a trash, cannon fodder type mob challenging Illiam in the way she had made her look. But that was fine. She'd get to crush their expectations along with the little shit's spine, this way. Though, given his regrowth of size, she couldn't really call him little anymore... He'd probably gotten taller than her, now. She kind of wanted to beat up whoever was responsible..

"Let's keep this quick, okay?" The two of them had been teleported only a few moments ago, but Areum was already prepared to begin. "Being the challenger here, it'd be unfair of me to steal the initiative. So you can feel free to start whenever it is you feel ready. Come at me with your biggest guns so we can get this over with right away!"

She was a Defender after all, so this was the natural move. Even if her personality was aggressive beyond compare, taking the offensive here didn't interest her in the slightest.

No, she'd crush every single one of his attacks, and only do away with him when he'd exhausted every trick in his bag.

The arena was set, and the disdain was nigh palpable.

"Show off."

"Who does he think he is? A nobody going against a member of the great family like that!"

"Maybe a broken bone or two will put him in his place."

The eyes from all those who watched weighed heavy on Illiam. He could feel the distilled, pure, hate radiating off of every onlooker. Not towards him, but Illiam also saw the looks his competitor was getting; the looks of disdain quite like the ones directed at Illiam himself. In this regard Illiam felt an odd feeling of comradery with the Christmas girl. Albeit, not enough to reconsider smashing her teeth in. But maybe enough to buy her a sandwich after smashing her teeth in.

"The name is Illiam. Illiam Herlaa."

She wanted to finish this quickly, and Illiam was more then happy to oblige. As much as Illiam felt the need to do as she said, and run at her with his "biggest guns" there was something off putting about the scenario. The fact that she would give Illiam first hit either means she lacks intelligence or has a plan, and Illiam was betting on the latter. So he began to advance, not running, or even at a quickened pace. Illiam walked to the girl, taking his time while he was at it, keeping on his guard. If the girl where to try something, then Illiam would react, try to dodge her attack if he could. His plan, was simply to grab her, hopefully by her feet. Once he had a solid grip, Illiam would smash the girl to and fro against the ground. Illiam doubted the girl could weigh anymore then a couple hundred pounds. So Illiam could keeping slamming her into the ground over and over for a while, hopefully she would go down quickly. But first he had to grab her, and hopefully that plan could be enough.

"I look forward to this. Whether I win or lose does not matter..."

He was close now. If she were to do anything to stop him. It would be now. If not, then Illiam would grab her, and the rest would be history.

"..but show me a world of pain, less I become disappointed!"

So he was going to be annoying about it.

Damn masochist.

"Mmmm... I'll be sure to, don't worry about that, but-" Before he reached her, Areum stepped forward to meet him. "-Like I said, you have the first move, so hurry up, kay? I need to beat up your buddies before the day is over, you know?" She was smiling when she said that. She had every intent on keeping to that promise. His whole team was going to get wiped out by her hand after that arrogant attitude they'd tried to give her.

"Or maybe you don't like the sound of that? If so, then you better make sure you beat me here, pal! So. Hit. Me."

Illiam made it a point to be as annoying as he could.

Basted glorified Christmas tree.

She still indented to give Illiam first hit, which started to become worrying. What exactly did this girl have planed? She was so unorthodox compared to anyone else Illiam had ever faced before, and although it got under his skin Illiam had to respect the girl a bit. Now the two were inches away from each other and Illiam could see everything, including the embarrassingly large skin blemish that blended into her skin from afar.

"When this is all over remind me to take you out to lunch."

The boy was being honest, this girl was intriguing. But the time for talk was not now. Illiam slowly began to sink lower and lower, bending at the knees until his head was at knee level with Greeny. Then ever slowly Illiam stretched out his arms and grabbed her ankles with a vice like grip. Before moving forward, Illiam gave one last look to his opponent, as if waiting for her approval. Once a moment had passed, Illiam rose and lifted the girl by her ankles. He held her upside down now, her head only inches off the ground. Then, finally, came the fun.

Illiam began to wave her to and fro like an infant would handle a rag doll. He swung her up, then whipped her body back down, making sure the first part to make impact with the ground was her head. She was as light as Illiam had hoped, which made things easier for him. Illiam would keep doing this. Lifting her into the air, and slamming her back onto the ground with vicious force. He would keep doing this for a minute, or until the girl did something to stop him, or until she passed out. Whichever one came first.

"Gods" Illiam thought. "Why can't all fights be this fun?"

Now, this was a whole lot more strength than she was expecting. How did he manage to pack so much power into the skinny little arms of his? If this went on for too long then she'd definitely start feeling the pain. In fact, getting her head slapped into the ground like this was already starting to make her bleed. Fuck. She'd have to give him some credit for this.

But.

"Sorry, but I don't do lunch with brutes." Her voice spoke clearly and easily, not at all like the one of a girl being flung around like a helpless ragdoll, and as she did, the next of Illiam's swings went missing. Learning into one of her Palisades, and using Illiam's own arms as support, Areum hung suspended above the Amu body. Despite the trickle of blood already running down her forehead, the girl eyed the boy like a common roach. This didn't change anything. Even if he was a little better than he looked, he was still going to lose here.

Taking advantage of whatever surprise she'd garnered, Areum released her weight from her shield and dropped towards the body, arms outstretched. She'd have to give him credit for his strength, but that just made her want to show off her own. With her hands around his neck.

At least, until he let her go. She wasn't quite ready to end this yet.

Illiam was nothing short of amazed at this girl. She was tough to crack and although it only made things more annoying, Illiam was up to the challenge. Illiam kept up with his special brand of maximum thrashing. He saw blood, which was a good sign, but still heard no cries of pain with was disheartening. Illiam would just have to keep up the momentum, if she took longer to break then so be it, Illiam would just have to be patient.

However, he was foolish to think his opponent would just go limp and take it.

The girl began her counter attack, which blindsided the one-track minded boy. He noticed that no longer was he swinging his enemy like a sack of potatoes, but rather she seemed to be suspended above him. He could have done something at this point, dodge or evade what was to come, but Illiam was in awe of the fact that this girl could still fight.

Areum came down on Illiam, causing him to lose balance and fall. Soon Illiam found himself under Areum with her hands around his neck, squeezing tight. Kinky. What could be done next? With Illiam's pure brute force he could force the girl off him, or start chocking her in kind. Or he could reach up and push his thumbs into her beady little eyes, which was the most tantalizing option. It would be so easy, not matter how durable her body may have been, eyes are nothing more then orbs of jelly.

He began to do just that, with a smile gracing his face, Illiam would push this girl eyes into the back of her skull. At least that's what the plan was, but a thought occurred to Illiam in the few moments before he was able. His hands pulled away, and Illiam hesitated.

"The hell is up with that hesitation?" As Illiam pulled his hands back, Areum did too. Right before punching him squarely in the nose, and getting back to her feet. Stupid pasty looking rat.

"Weren't you listening? You're going to come at me with everything you've got. If you can't even understand something like that, then you really are just a brute." This was really pissing her off. She'd never be able to beat him into the ground if he wouldn't even try to attack her. "Okay, then. How about a deal? If you can make me bleed from five different parts of my body, I'll suffer you after this. I'll even leave your team alone for a bit!? Sound good to you?"

Of course, even if he managed that, she still wouldn't let him win. She just wanted to get the guy a little more motivated for this. As things were going, it was embarrassing to even stand in the same arena as him, even if that first move of his had been surprisingly ballsy.

Now Illiam was thoroughly confused. Not even two minutes earlier the two were fighting, really truly fighting, it was pure euphoria for the pale sadist. Now however Areum was standing before him, mad that he hesitated, and commanding him to take yet another free shot. The nerve of this woman to get Illiam's hopes up like she did and not deliver! Even her first actual hit was mediocre and only did well to bruise the Amu's nose. As Areum commanded though, Illiam stood and threw both hands in the air and spoke, quite apathetically:

"Argg! I have been bested by the mighty punch of my worthy foe. I see now that no amount of tenacity will win me this day. If mine foe would... aw screw it I'm bored and I have better things to do. You win."

Without another word, Illiam left. He wasn't proud of giving up, but this fight was starting to become nothing more then a waste of his time. If he had to give up eating for a while then so be it. This fight was becoming too mundane to continue.

She started moving without even really meaning to.

The moment her enemy has started speaking, she'd cocked an eyebrow. The moment she'd realized what he was saying, she was already about to punch his organs into jelly. The moment that he actually gave up, she was too stunned to actually do any of that. Searing emotion ran through her veins, so hot that she could practically feel it cooking her from the inside out. Something like this, she had to take a moment to wonder what it could be.

Of course, it was anger. No, it was rage. Pure seething rage. The kind that took over your body and forced it to act on impulse and foolishness before you had a chance to do so much as think. This didn't quite measure up to the time mother had denied her right to becoming a Princess, but fuck, it came close. Though part of that was just because this was making her think of the old hag, she figured.

In the mean time while Areum's mind still trying to figure out her rage, the girl's body already had a clear idea of what it wanted to do. Without a second's hesitation, her Palisades burst to life, enlarging with a spark of Shinsoo and whirling through the air with only one destination in mind.

That petulant little mouth of his.

Weiss (Deltron) was about to announce Aerum's victory when all of a sudden, the Regular in question attempted to attack Illiam, in a fit of rage.

Before her Palisades could even reach Illiam, Weiss moved in front of them and...then he simingly disappeared, before reappearing in front of Aerum and pinning her face-first into the ground, applying a powerful wave of Shinsoo to her body. The Palisades where already destroyed before he even subdued Aerum, but an F-Rank Regular wouldn't have been able to process what had happened.

"Regular Aerum would have officially won the match, but because of her rule-breaking behaviour, I will declare this match invalid. All the point transactions shall be cancelled. And yes, that includes the ones of those who bet." he said, on a calm, but cold tone. Many Regulars would have wanted to protest against it, but because of the incident with Keylow, the were incredibly reluctant about talking back to a Ranker.

In a not so surprising turn of events, Illiam heard noise from behind as he began to leave the battle stage, most likely another attack from Areum. Honestly Illiam wasn't too shocked, such a fiery action was to be expected from a girl like her. Yet, despite seeing it coming Illiam did not ready himself to block or dodge, or even face his assailant. He figured it would make the girl feel better, at little cost to himself. Sometimes Illiam was a giving lad, and he decided to give his worthy opponent a last shot.

That and he knew it was moving too fast for him to dodge.

But rather then take an attack to the back, all Illiam heard was something heavy crashing to the ground. The Amu turned to face the scene, only to see Areum pinned to the ground by the white tuxedo man, her shields broken and on the ground. Illiam looked the man in the eye, making sure that he was looking at Illiam in kind, before nodding his head slowly and moving on. Illiam was done here, he had been done for a while now, any further altercation did not involve him. Nothing was left for him to do other then get back to his team, and figure out if he was to eat tonight.

It didn't take long till Illiam was faced before his teammates once again. "Seefi, Selicity." He greeted them. "So, did you enjoy the show? As... short, as it was. Honestly I was enjoying myself until she started running her mouth off. But, that's beside the point! Whose buying lunch?" Truly it was odd to be thinking of lunch as the day had just started, but Illiam was big on thinking ahead when it came to food and how to best consume it.

He looked upon his team, his usual deceptively cheery smile dominating his face. Oddly enough, these few days had been exciting. Stressful, challenging and even a bit strange, but the most fun Illiam has had in a long time without doubt. While the three would talk about what to do next, Illiam would pat Selicity's head, occastionally scraching behind an ear if she let him.

20th Floor- Azalea Crimson

Azalea listened to both Argeus and Evelyn. She tilted her head to the left, and put the index of her right hand on her cheek, smiling. "Interesting," was all she initially said. Then she simply looked around with no particular purpose in mind. She was just thinking. This all was a highly complicated game of chess, and she needed to be careful with every move.

"Very well. Evelyn, your reaction was more or less expected. Argeus...you have an interesting view on things. We shall probably see each other again in the near future," with that said, she was about to leave, but she suddenly stopped. She slowly turned around and...in the next second she was right next to Evelyn.

"Nox will likely return." she whispered into his ear. Azalea then moved at blinding speed and disappeared from sight.

Selicity Faars

“Maybe a broken bone or two will put him in his place,”

Snuggled on Seefie’s lap in her cat form, Selicity’s ears twitched at what she heard. Gradually the iris of her one remaining eye began to darken into the color of blood as she lifted her head to face the source of that careless comment. It irked her. It irked her a lot. Illiam may have been weirdo, but he was still her teammate. Her friend. Selicity didn’t really have very many friends in the village of the Cat Sidhe. Perhaps she was being a little forward in thinking they were friends. After all, the formation of their team was hardly one of choice. It had simply been the rule of the test.

Still.

Selicity was angry.

Therefore nothing else mattered. Leaping off of her fox-eared teammate, the kitten trotted her way to the stupid Regular who insulted Illiam. She hissed at him.

“Sooooooo….you like broken bones, do you?” Her voice drew the attention of the nameless Regular and his friends. “How about I break your bones instead?”

Perhaps it was because of her diminutive size. Perhaps it was because the group of regulars were idiots. Whichever the case, they laughed at her. Selicity’s body grew as she morphed into her humanoid form. She took a step forward, her arms inventory appearing beside her.

“Stop,” A child in a demon costume was suddenly between her and her prey. “Unsanctioned, non-event fights are grounds for disqualification.”

Selicity hissed, her red eye darkening to purple. Her glare didn’t abate. Though it did land itself on the monster-costumed child briefly. One of the test examiners? Another regular? Selicity didn’t care. She wanted to kill her prey. Ignoring the little small costumed creature. She took another step forward. Or at least, Selicity tried to…only to find she couldn’t even move. She hissed angrily.

“If you kids want to fight, challenge each other to one-on-one combat. Say the word and I’ll teleport you all out of here right now into your own arena.”

Selicity blinked, a conscious thought emerging. She didn’t want to leave yet. Illiam’s fight had barely begun. The violet iris reverted back to red and Selicity’s shoulders slumped.

“Fine,” the girl said. She directed her glare to the one that wanted Illiam’s bone shattered. “I’ll come after you later.”

Not long afterward, Selicity was able to move again. High above her a pink lighthouse made itself visible. Selicity looked at it for a moment, looked back at the pink child, then shrugged, and morphed back to feline form. She settled on Seefie’s shoulder to watch the rest of Illiam’s match. It wasn’t a long match. A little disappointing actually. It started out good, with Illiam bashing Aerum like a rag doll, but then everything sorta became…stilted. She was aware there seemed to be some sort of tension in the arena, conversation in the middle of battle usually indicated that, but the context and reasons for it were lost on Sel. By this pointed, Selicity’s iris shifted blue and remained that way…at least until Illiam gave up. Then it was back to red. Selicity sighed. When Illiam approached and tried to pet her, Selicity shot Illiam a dour look and dodged, landing on top of Seefie’s head.

“Lame,” Selicity answered bluntly. “It was so lame. And I feel sorry for Aerum.”

Sticking her tongue out at Illiam, Selicity jumped off Seefie’s head and scurried away to hunt her prey. Or, at the very least, challenge the punk and his friends to one-on-one combat. A private one—where she could beat each and every one of them as bloody as she pleased. And, if the regular so happened to die, she could just explain it as an accident of battle.

“You guys can go eat without me. I’ll join you later!”

Meanwhile...
Evelyn Wicker
Evelyn watched Azelea leave, shaking his head and sticking his dark hands into the pockets of his fur-trimmed, green jacket. He let out a low whistle. “She’s quite the gal, isn’t she?”

Was his reaction predictable? He tried not to be. Perhaps he was losing his touch. The Galleon sighed mournfully. The revelation whispered in his ear, that Nox might come back, did give him a bit of a surprise. Waves were good every once in a while. But a wave too large, might uproot the Tower at its core. And Evelyn certainly didn’t want the tower destroyed any more than a child wanted their playground destroyed.

3 Irregulars entering the Tower at roughly the same time.

The probable awakening of a villain sealed centuries ago.

The pieces were all slowly being laid out. Now the main question was—who were the pawns and who were the players? Evelyn smiled, the whites of his teeth showing. “Don’t mind her. Azalea likes being mysterious. She’s a woman who hates both FUG and Zahard, you see. A dangerous type of woman. You can try to get her to your side if you want…” That was how Evelyn interpreted Argeus’s final statement. “But— whatever you do—don’t fall for her. And definitely don’t kiss her.” As Argeus’s guide, Evelyn figured he ought give Argeus a warning—just in case. A man to man warning. Er…man to tree. Irregular to Irregular? Evelyn chuckled.

He still didn’t know the reason Azalea revealed all that information to him. Perhaps she felt a kindred spirit towards him. After all, they had both worked for FUG without having any loyalty to the organization. However, they were just as different. Azalea despised both FUG and Zahard. Evelyn despised neither. They both kept him from being bored after all.

Smirking, Evelyn pulled out his hand, holding a silver pocket watch in front of him . “Anyway, we’d best hurry if you intend to make it to the second floor in time to see your potential allies in action.”

Waiting until the allies they wanted climbed their way to the 20th floor worked just as well. However, Evelyn wasn’t the one walking the path. That was Argeus. He was only the guide—and that was how he liked it. If nothing else, Evelyn was pleased that their encounter with the Scorpion Fish caused Argeus to become actively conscious of the ripples created from every wave that rocked the tower.

Who knew growing a tree would prove to be so enjoyable?

Argeus watched as the woman left. There were so many things he needed to learn about this tower, and as much as he wanted to avoid it it seemed like the towers politics was one of them. " Quite the woman indeed.... " the Satyr said as she left her view. Argeus stood and gestured for Evelyn to lead the way as he always did. " So why must I never kiss her? Even in this weaker human form Satyrs are still quite resistant to poisons and other toxins. If that was what you were worried about " Argeus said thinking on the meaning of his guide's words. It probably wasn't anything physical like that. Perhaps the relationship itself is what would be dangerous. After all, just as the guide said, this wasn't the time to be getting distracted. If he wanted to bring his people back such emotions as love and lust must be put aside for his goal.

" Never mind, Evelyn. I think I figured it out. Anyway I want to see if you're as observant as I think you are. Any ideas why I want to go back down and wait on younger allies?" Argeus said as they left their meeting place and he turned back into the giant tree being that he truly was. Several of the Baams he had planted in this floor had already began sprouting. They would feed on the energy here and send the power to him. Granted it wouldn't be much out of the floor itself, but every little bit helps.

Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit.

Mistake. Mistake. Mistake. Mistake.

Dammit, she was smarter than this. She was above this kind of embarrassment. God, this was all that pale fuckball of a weasel's fault. She was going to crush him. The first chance she got, she was going to crush him. Not his attacks. Not his resolve. She was going to give the damn masochist what he wanted, and beat him into a bloody twitching pulp.

Areum picked herself up from the ground, the crowd already starting to disperse by the time she'd regained her bearings. The only ones that seemed to remain, were the ones that didn't care about the fight in the first place, and the ones that were pissed at her for throwing their bets down the drain. Well, they could air their grievances if they wanted. She definitely wouldn't be complaining if they decided to let her vent a little bit of her rage, and earn back some of the money that'd been stolen from her. But for now, she was only interested in getting back to her room. Even she needed some rest after this.

She just hoped that pale good-for-nothing wasn't going to be too much of a pain in her ass about this. She wasn't in the mood to have to find an excuse to beat the shit out of him too.

Honestly, unlike her cat eared companion, Seefi was glad. She'd been against fighting that girl from the start, so as far as she was concerned this was the best possible outcome. Though, she was a little worried about that... Reaction of hers. But she wasn't going to let that dour the mood, especially with Selicity behaving the way she was.

"I think you did well!" Genuinely, she smiled. "Don't mind Selicity... I just think she was looking forward to watching you fight is all. But I think you made the right choice! Nothing good was going to come of fighting that kind of person." She had an inkling of a feeling as she spoke. Like she should reward him, somehow. Though she wasn't really sure how... He seemed quite touchy-feely, so perhaps..? Hesitantly, she extended her hand and laid it on his head. She remembered her mother doing this the first time she'd brought in a kill, so perhaps...

Ah, no, this was awkward. She retracted her hand, and crossed it across her stomach.

"W-well, ah, you wanted to get lunch, didn't you? Let's be off, okay? It looks like Selicity has something to do..." Man, even she knew this was going to be awkward. At least, it would be if he took an issue with it. Darn. She really should have asked first, shouldn't she?

Oh well.

She could hardly see him making too big a deal about it, at least.
