Tobias lived in the supernatural world, where anyone and anything was possible. He was the result of a request from a desperate, financially poor, pleading mother, who begged the stars to grant her single wish: to have a baby. The woman was called Almyra, and she was a barren nymph, separated from her husband because of her barrenness. All she ever wanted was a child, and had no choice but to turn to the heavens above and plead for just that. It seemed the stars had heard her plea, and soon, she was with child. The stars told her that he would be blessed with limitless abilities and freedom, but she had to promise that these abilities will never be used for any kind of evils, like greed, or else her son will be forever robbed from his free will and forced to serve the wisher. Almyra promised, and soon, she gave birth to the newborn, naming the boy Tobias, and loved him with all her heart and filled her with joy. After all, her son was a result of a wish, so he was going to grant them.
Almyra had a genie for a son.
There was no lamp, no Finder. Tobias was very much a free genie, who could what he desired, when he wanted, and no one had to force him to do it.
As Tobias grew, it was evident that his powers were limitless, the only limit is his imagination. He could create anything out of thin air, destroy it if he desired, grant wishes, shape-shift, and plenty others.
Almyra and Tobias were very poor, and it was hard for them to survive in the supernatural world. Soon, Almyra couldn't take it anymore, and started to make her son grant wishes of money, so they could survive. At first, it was only minimal, because the mother did indeed remember the stars's warning. However, it didn't take long for the wishes to turn into selfish and greedy needs, in which Almyra told her son to make more, and more, and even more money to appear. Almyra's heart had gone cold, and selfish, only wanting to satisfy her own need for riches. Tobias didn't really realize that his mother had turned this way, but was beginning to have his own suspicions as her wishes became more about money than anything else. But, these suspicions did not stop him from granting wishes for his dear mother.
Then, it came. One night, when the stars were especially bright and countless in the clear indigo sky, the stars had come to Almyra in a dream, telling her that she had broken the promise made years ago. They told her that now, her son will be forever cursed to be enslaved to the wisher, forced to do whatever the wisher wished, and robbed from his free will. Almyra had finally realized her mistake, and begged the stars for one more chance. However this time, the stars did not listen. The next morning, Tobias woke up with golden wristbands, condemning forever.
Almyra knew the dangers of the supernatural world. Dark forces could use Tobias and his powers for evil deeds, and Tobias, having lost his free will, will not be able to fight it. Scared for her son, Almyra sent him to LPA in Earth, hopeful that maybe he can learn how to suppress the need to grant wishes when forced.
