To Save a Race

The year is 2310. Earth as we know it has long been abandoned by the human race and left to ruin. The entire former population of the once blue and green orb migrated to reside on a planet they called, Revelation One. Unfortunately, the new planet's air was unbreathable to the human body, but they managed to find their way around that issue. The Earthlings built extremely modern replicas of their former planet's most famous cities underneath four main oxygen domes and the humans thrived.

Life went along without a hitch for many years until a leak occurred in a main atmospheric pipeline, letting in thousands of particles of the poisonous gasses hanging like clouds in Revelation One's natural skies. The accident wiped out several smaller towns where all the cultivation work was done for the colony. With no green plants and no resources to grow more, the planet only had approximately two months of breathable oxygen left.

An elite task force was organized, consisting of the most talented and healthy young people Revelation One had to offer. Their mission was to pilot a starship back to Earth and find a way to contain the oxygen already in the atmosphere so that it could be brought back to the clear domes, light years away. Unfortunately, the mission was a failure. There was nothing salvageable about the human's former home and by the time they had returned to Revelation One, the suffocation had already begun.

The team now floats aimlessly in the sea of stars, having no home to go back to on either side of the universe. They have been living like this for only one month and already, tension is building between the crew mates.

What will happen to the last of the humans? Will they end up destroying each other? Will they find a new home to call their own?

USEFUL INFORMATION

Each member of the wandering crew was specifically trained for a certain job, the departments are listed below.

Command: includes the pilot and co-pilot

Defense: the brave souls who man the ship's weaponry systems

-Character Sheet-

Personality Traits: (You don't have to put these in some long paragraph, be brief.)

History/Bio: (Here is where you may write your mile long paragraphs.)

Appearance: (I encourage you to use a picture as well as text describing anything we cannot see from the image.)

Connections: (If you have a current relationship with another crew member. For example, brother, sister, cousin, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc. Optional.)

-My Character-

Name: Sabrina Dixon

Age: 19

Department: Command

Abilities: photographic memory, carries a small blade strapped to her thigh and is very proficient with it

Personality Traits: Opinionated, stubborn, known to have quite a temper

History/Bio: Sabrina was born into a very prestigious family in Revelation One's recreation of Paris, France. Life and opportunity was pretty much handed to her on a silver platter. She flew through school, her incredible memory allowing her to skip grades and graduate early. Brina entered flight school at the age of sixteen. She had always dreamed of traveling to other worlds and if becoming part of the Command team for a starship was what it took to get her there, she was willing to go through the training.

In her last year of flight training, the leak occurred. Sabrina was, of course, the top of her class and was immediately chosen to lead the team of young individuals. She was honored but she had never envisioned herself in the pilot's chair of such a large endeavor. She was assured that all she had to do was pilot the starship, which should be no problem for her, and keep the peace between the crew. The latter may prove to be more difficult.

When it was realized that both of the human's home had been destroyed, Sabrina was, without a doubt, the most devastated. Her already hardened attitude became even more prominent as their time in the starship continued.

Appearance: Her long hair is almost always pulled into a high ponytail. She typically dresses very similar to the picture and never removes a thin silver chain with a pearl pendant from around her neck.

Connections: N/A (Feel free to pm me if you'd like our characters to be connected.)

Name: Tobias Carson (Toby)

Age: 22

Department: Medical

Abilities: Trained genetic manipulation, previously worked in (and subsequently fired from) lethal injection chemical creation, has now been sidelined into being the starship's medical officer.

Personality Traits: Intelligent, antisocial while working, disdain for being reduced to a 'mere' medic (as he calls it).

History/Bio: Not much is known about Tobias Carson in his early years, somehow avoiding detection on the metaphorical radar until he appeared for a short while as a university graduate with unusually high distinctions as well as completing the course in two-thirds the time it took the other students, specializing in the field of genetic manipulation. Many companies offered him a job, and it is assumed he took one of the many offers because yet again he disappeared into obscurity.

Not long after the hubbub over this ridiculously intelligent young individual faded into the background, he popped up again, this time in the courts. The news companies portrayed him as a 'man not afraid to rid the world of villiany', but for those who saw past the copious amounts of crap the papers flung up, he was just another killer, using drugs he had made himself to inject a childhood rival with a pain-enhanced, fear-inducing terror chemical. It took the man sixteen terrifying, agonizingly painful hours to die from the chemical now designated as TC-20. He was fired from the company, and yet again disappeared off the radar.

His final appearance upon the media's stage was the announcement that he was being sent back to earth, but apart from his name in the papers as one of the few to be returning to Humanity's homeworld, nothing more could be gained from the government then the words 'no comment'.

Appearance: Cold blue eyes and black hair tied into a short (8cm) ponytail. Pale from his time indoors, and lean bordering on weedy. Generally wears a dull yellow t-shirt that should have been turned to scrap eons ago, as well as a pair of jeans.

Connections: None (pm me if you want to have my character related you yours somehow)

I personally know the author of this storyline and I just thought I'd let you know that she has long since stopped using her RPN account. She posted this plot last summer and it, regretfully, never got off the ground.
