Name: Robert Collins
Nicknames: Rob, Bert, Bob,
Preferred Name: Rob
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age: 22
Date of Birth: 18th of March, 1920
Place of Birth: Rector, Arkansas
Role: Squad Leader

Bio: Robert is the oldest child out of Edward's and Martha's four children. The three younger ones are his little sisters Susan, Diane and Mary.
Growing up he always helped his father on their farm. Being born and raised a farmer there wasn't much other choice. Early mornings and late nights had become a routine for him. All day long he would always hear about how he one day would have to take over after his father. It wasn't something he longed for.
When Robert was around 12-13 his father developed a severe taste for alcohol. He became abusive towards their mother and sometimes towards the children, especially Rob. There wasn't many excuses left for his bruises.
Robert had a dream of moving far away from the rural towns and move closer to a city. The life of a farmer just wasn't for him. But there was no way in hell he would leave his mother and sisters with that monster of a man.
After graduating from high school in 1938 life took a sudden turn of events. His father had passed away from an alcohol poisoning, leaving Robert to be the man of the house. Overwhelmed by joy and remorse his mother sold the farm only days later. She moved the family to Fayetteville where Robert began his studies in literature at the University of Arkansas.
During his second year of education he fell deeply in love with a beautiful girl. Anna Williams, a nursing student at the university.
In the spring of 1940, his education and love life was cut short when a man in uniform entered school grounds and announced the military was looking for volunteers to become part of an elite unit in the Marine Corps.

Personality: Robert is an outgoing and humoristic man. Humor has always been a defense mechanism of his, and something to keep him sane through tough times. He's not the kind of man that likes to get too personal, when conversations hit too close to home he will most likely joke it away. Although he might be seen as a jokester, he knows damn well when he needs to be serious.
Just like any other man he needs his alone time, usually spent reading or writing. With a pen and a paper he's able to express himself in ways not possible through his voice, his safe zone.
He's very devoted to his Christian religion and believes his service in the Marine Corps is God's will. Being faithful to both God and the United States of America is one of the many reasons he enlisted. Loyalty and honesty is very important to Rob, two key aspects to being a good man if you ask him.
Due to his abusive father he has a lot of anger built inside of him, this has led to him having a difficult temperament. Every now and then this rage comes out of him in an uncontrollable manner. Even though it's never meant to go out over someone else, it most often does.
Likes: Reading/Writing + Honesty + Mornings + Cigarettes + Patience
Dislikes: Alcohol - Arrogance - Thievery
Fears: Captured x Failure

Name: Taki "Trevor" Togawa
Nicknames: Trevor
Preferred Name: Trevor
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Japanese-American
Age: 21
Date of Birth: January 17th, 1921
Place of Birth: San Francisco, California
Role: Rifleman Scout

Bio: Yorihiko and Riyo were an impoverished couple with Japanese origins. They mainly made a living by farming the rice fields, although they wanted more. They eventually immigrated to America, San Francisco to be precise, in search of a better life. They became marginally successful in their quest, settling down in the city and opening up a restaurant. The loans took some time to pay back and there was racism shot in their direction, but for the most part they were content. Just a few years after settling down the couple had their first and only child, Taki.

Like most children of immigrants Taki found himself torn between both American culture and the culture of his ancestral homeland. From a young age he had a hard time identifying fully as either. Rather, he tried his best to embrace both and his parents tried their hardest to instill traditional Japanese culture and values in him. It worked, to an extent. Once he became school age the identity crisis that Taki faced only intensified. Finally, while in school he attempted to become more American, even going as far as adopting an American nickname. To most, he became known as "Trevor" and only Trevor.

Despite some of his more obvious struggles Taki did manage to make a few friends, namely those who were either foreign like himself or bore a similar quiet and reclusive personality type. They became a tight-knit group and it remained that way up until graduation. After graduation much began to change. War broke out and just about two years in America found itself attacked by Japanese forces. Suddenly, seemingly overnight, Taki and his family went from upright and respected to citizens to distrusted foreigners planted on American soil. Taki's group of friends did not overlook this. They gained their own suspicions of all things Japanese.

Soon after the suspicions began came the deportations. Like so many others of Japanese, German, or Italian descent Taki's found his family deported to the nearest internment camp. Taki himself would have been due to join them, had it not been for his snap decision prior to enlist in the military in order to prove his loyalty and status as an American. Unsurprisingly, his status even within boot camp was a contentious one. He looked, and even spoke, exactly like the enemy. The man essentially found himself pressured into over-performing in order to prove his worth. Any pressure and discomfort he experienced was only further intensified upon finally being shipped out. Fighting Germans, that he could do, but he was in for a surprise upon discovering that the enemy he would be confronting was a little too familiar.

Personality: Taki is best known as a man of few words. He possesses a quiet and serious demeanour. Similarity, he will approach nearly all tasks with the same mentality; he is very much the type to simply get a job done without much fooling around or beating around the bush. It is not easy to produce a laugh from the man or to even get him to joke around at all. This is especially true in trying to prove his loyalty and value to his adopted country. He knows he had large shoes to fill, thus experiences immense pressure. Fortunately for him, he is mostly a calm individual and is able to retain his cool while under stress.

As evident from his upbringing Taki does maintain a sense of honour and duty. Any task he is given he will carry out with pride and to its highest potential. Naturally, to him, actions speak louder than words. Although he may not always express it verbally he will demonstrate to others that he cares about them using other means.

Name: Jacob Kowalcyzk
Nicknames: "Jake"
Preferred Name: Jacob
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Polish-American (Born in the States)
Age: 20
Date of Birth: June 4, 1942
Place of Birth: Lower East Side, New York City, New York
Role: Rifleman Scout

Bio: Jacob Aleksander Kowalcyzk was born the first child of Ezra and Alicja Kowalcyzk. The couple were both children of Polish Jews that immigrated to America some time in the very late 19th century. They came to America with promises of opportunity, freedom, equality. All they found was poverty, servitude, and prejudice. Even in the Land of the Free, Jews were looked down on. There were as many slurs as there were stars in the sky. yid, kike, heeb. Different names but with the same message. "You don't belong here." But despite this, despite all the hatred, the Kowalcyzk's persevered. They opened a general store in the Lower East Side, and thanks to the family tradition of the firstborn male becoming rabbi, Ezra became a respected fixture of the community, comprised primarily of other Polish Jews. Despite this upbringing, Jacob was always more American. He loved baseball, hot dogs, Coca Cola, you name it. Not to say he didn't respect his heritage. He observed the Sabbath on Saturdays, he always helped light the Menorah during Hanukah, and he remembered a few Yiddish phrases. Mainly the curses. Especially the curses.

Jake's parents had the philosophy of blending in. Don't draw attention to yourself, don't fight back. Jacob didn't like this. He always had a hatred for injustice. Which led to him getting into a lot of fights in school. He was always a "trouble child," doing poorly in school, causing trouble. Didn't help he was Jewish. But over time he overcame his more...violent tendencies, instead directing his anger to the community. He and his brothers were the guys to call when you needed something. Out of fish? Pay them a few bucks and they'll give you fish. They'll even make sure it's kosher. Need to tell your husband to get back from the bar for dinner? They'll do it, and they'll even spend that hard earned cash at that very same bar. Things were good.

Until the news from Europe started coming in. Stories of entire towns being carted away, of Jews being treated as cattle, just as they had been for centuries. It infuriated Jacob. America spoke of how it was the "City on the Hill," how it fought for freedom and justice. And yet here they were, not just standing by as millions died, but refusing them a place to go. he knew war was coming, he just didn't know when. So, he enlisted early, just after his 18th birthday. At least it gave him a better chance at becoming someone than New York. Seeing as he wanted to do as much damage to those Nazi bastards as he could, when he was offered a place in the Hellhounds, he was more than happy. Yeah it was hello, he got called more slurs in boot camp than he ever did back home, but he liked it in the Marines. He was almost happy when Pearl Harbor got attacked. Finally, they were gonna sail across the Atlantic, and push their boots firmly up Hitler's ass an-

They were going to the Pacific. There are about 1,000,000 words in the English language. And yet there are not enough words to properly described the fury Jacob felt. He signed up to fight Nazi's, not Japanese. But it's not like he had a choice. plus, if they finished this up quick he might get to Europe in time to see them grind Berlin to dust.

Personality: Jacob is an angry guy. He's got reason to. Where he's from, everyone was out to get you. No one liked you besides your family and maybe your neighbors, and they'd find any chance to kick you down. Jacob sees challenges everywhere. Challenges to his religion, his culture, his manhood. A lot of fights are caused my him just assuming the worst, and that assumption being right. It's not to say he likes violence or that he's naturally violent. He's actually decently smart, he has a good eye for navigation and directions, and could guide you from one side of his neighborhood to the other with his eyes closed. Not to mention he's a helluva good time at a Party. Just uh...don't get him to drunk, he's a sad drunk. He's just...he has his insecurities. Being insulted all your life tends to make you somewhat believe it, deep down, and Jacob is out to prove that he's more than what he's been called. That he is worth something, and that he's gonna kick the Tojo's asses so hard they're gonna fly all the way to Germany and land ass first on Hitler's stupid face.

Name: Dimitri Vasiliev
Nicknames: Dim, Vas, Rooski, Red, Ivan
Preferred Name: Dimitri
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Russian
Age: 25
Date of Birth: June 5th, 1917
Place of Birth: NY, USA
Role: Grenadier

Bio: Dimitri's immediate family had barely managed to escape from the 1916 communist uprising, and overthrow of the Russian Monarchy. His family had been loyalists in support of the crown. His mother had been pregnant with him from before their journey and he was born in America. The first of their family that had done so. He grew up surrounded by other Russian Immigrants, but had found solace in his new homeland of America as well. Even while holding on to the culture of his homeland (He plays folk music on his Balalaika), he loves American culture as well. Hotdogs, Baseball, etc. He was always getting up to mischief with his friends and creating makeshift bombs to blow up the communists in case they ever tried to invade America like they did Russia. When America joined the war, he joined up as well, eager to help out his homeland, looking forward to joining up at the European Theater, he did not expect to get assigned to the Pacific One.

Personality: Dimitri is a boisterous man. Friendly by nature, he will eagerly share his views and culture. To him, everyone is a comrade without question. He is always adding them to his family, much to the detriment of his biological ones. However, calling him a communist is the fastest way to get on his shit list since his family lost many in the uprisings to the communists.

Luigi Barbaro.jpg

Bio:
A true family man, Luigi grew up in a close-nit but rather poor Italian community. As the elder brother, he looked out for Luca at school and in the streets; earning the reputation as a bully-bane amongst the other boys. His parents owned a small but honest bakery within their community, Luigi loved working there with his mother in the backroom. Everyday before and after school, he would be elbows deep in dough; kneading and folding to get the required consistency. Growing up, he pursued for a good education and focused on his studies as well as doing rather well at physical sports. At College, Luigi joined the local boxing club and did quite well considering he wasn't always around due to his family commitment. He met Anna, a Swiss - American on his twenty third birthday party and the young couple tied the knot only two years later. Five years later, Luigi, his wife and his brother took over the family bakery due to his parent's poor health. Whenever Luigi wasn't working hard away at his family's bakery, he would attend various boxing venues around New Jersey and despite Anna's protests, Luigi had gained a reputation of being a solid heavyweight fighter in the ring.

With war raging in Europe and North Africa, Luigi and many other Italian-Americans thought it wouldn't be long before the United States would find an excuse to join in the conflict. Sensing a good opportunity to do some good in the world, 'Barb' put down his boxing gloves, hung up his skull cap and took up arms in readiness against the ultimate evil; fascism. Whilst Luigi had envisioned himself parachuting into North Africa or Southern Italy to liberate and protect, the Pacific theatre had other plans for him.

Personality:
Luigi is a natural leader, faking confidence when it's really needed. Otherwise he's a simple, calm, collected man who is loyal and trusting to those around him. Whilst he won't go out of his way to solve someone-else's problems, Luigi is always open to those that put the effort into being productive to the group. He often wears netting and a crown of barbed wire on his helmet to obscure the shape, earning him the nickname 'Barb'.

Full Name: Ernesto Bartolo Tungol Gica
Nicknames: “Ernie,” “Bart,” “Gica”
Preferred Name: Ernie
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Filipino-American
Age: 20
Date of Birth: 22 August, 1921
Place of Birth: Honolulu, Hawaii
Role: Assistant Squad Leader
Rank: Corporal

Biography
Born to a Filipino immigrant family on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, Ernesto grew up on one of the many sugar cane plantations that dominated rural Hawaii. The first of the Gica family, Ernesto's parents and the eldest children, Ismael and Alessandra, migrated from the Philippines sometime in 1919 seeking economic opportunity. That opportunity came in the form of plantation life where "sugar was king." Arriving with little to their names, the Gicas "employed" themselves to the first plantation that would take them. Although they were given lodging and most other needs were cared for, their lives were now at the behest of the plantation mangers. Life became a rough routine, but the Gicas, along with the rest of the immigrant families, had virtually no other option.

Ernesto was the first to be born on the plantation and four other siblings soon followed. The Gica children had little in the way of education. The only public school nearby was several miles from the plantation itself, and with no car, usually meant an hour or two of walking. Most of Ernesto's brothers cared less for school, so only Ernesto along with his sisters and youngest brother, Arturo, made the journey. Even when the journey was said and done, Ernesto faced new challenges. The school was heavily segregated. Ernesto was placed in the "B" class. Unbeknownst to Ernesto at the time, this simply meant that he was among the children that many expected to fail. However, this was not the case for the Gica children, especially for Ernesto. He found himself excelling in his classes, much to his teachers' surprise. It was here when Ernesto first began to feel "American." His schooling instilled him that distant "American Dream," and that anyone, even Ernesto, could eventually lead a successful life. From then on, Ernesto placed his full effort into school. At the testimony of his teacher, Ernesto was able to get approved for "advanced classes." However, despite his run of good luck, Ernesto would soon find himself faced with a stark choice.

A few months after Ernesto's sixteenth birthday, Ismael, the eldest of his siblings, died in a tragic accident. Ismael had been out swimming late one night with a group of friends. All seemed well until they discovered that Ismael had gone missing. The was a search effort but they never recovered Ismael's body. Although it is uncertain, it is believed that Ismael was pulled beneath the waves by a rip current and drowned. In light of this, Ernesto's father told him that with Ismael gone, the family would need another hand out in the fields. Tadeo argued that if they were ever able to leave the plantation, they would need to save enough money. Despite their hard work and determination, Ernesto's parents couldn't do it on their own. This meant Ernesto would need to abandon his academic pursuits. Ernesto dismayed at the thought, but his obligation was to his family, and Ernesto reluctantly took to the fields.

Three long years crawled by, and Ernesto became increasingly unsatisfied with life. He loved his father, his family, but he couldn't bear the thought of being stuck in the fields for the rest of his life. Ernesto dreamed of owning his own business; he dreamed of the success he saw in his schoolbooks. Ernesto wanted more out of life. Fate would decide that Ernie was indeed bound for change, but not entirely in the way Ernie had hoped. One December evening, Ernie confronted his father about his future. He poured his heart out, trying to convince him that he yearned for a different life. Ernie's message, however, was poorly received. Tadeo lashed out at his son, shaming him for what he saw as abandoning the family. The two were eventually separated as Ernie stormed off. Against his father's wishes, Ernie packed a bag and used some of his savings to board a bus bound for Honolulu.

Ernie's bus pulled into the city just after dawn. It was at this point, Ernie realized that he hadn't entirely thought this through. He was now practically stranded in the city, with little money. No where to go or stay, Ernie wandered for some time. He found his way to an empty beach and sat to contemplate. As the morning sun slowly rose into the sky, Ernie checked his watch. It was half past eight. He thought that maybe, if he turned back now, his father might forgive him. It was then Ernie heard a low rumble on the air. He looked to the sky and saw a little black silhouettes in the sky. At first, he thought they were a flock of birds. But as they drew closer, the sound of plane engines grew to a tremendous roar. Soon, gunfire and explosions tore through the air. Ernie can barely remember what exactly happened that day. It was all a tumultuous blur. He remembers running for his life, the clarion of battle, smell of oil burning, and ships being torn asunder. There was one moment, however, that will forever be seared into his soul. As the tattered American flag hung limp over the carcass of a ship hull, Ernie witnessed the struggle of those trying to drag wounded sailors from the water as they washed ashore. Most were beyond saving, they were either in pieces or burned to a point beyond recognition. Others were only half-alive, men who seemed to fail at gripping the reality they found themselves in. Ernie didn't hesitate to rush over and help the wounded from the water. He eventually happened upon a sailor whose body was mostly charred. The man was still alive, barely, and not for much longer. All Ernie could think to do was sit with the young man and say a prayer. Ernie's words seemed to calm the wounded sailor, and soon, his labored breathing fell silent. It was on this fateful day, that Ernie found the drive he'd been searching for. It wasn't long after that when Ernie found himself in recruiting office, along with other brave souls...

Personality
Ernesto, or "Ernie," as he is preferred to be called, is a soft-spoken man. Ernie more often kept to his closer friends, preferring the company of those he knew best as opposed to strangers. This earned Ernie the reputation of being arrogant, someone who thought to highly of himself. This notion is misplaced, and it would surprise many to find that Ernie is quite a kind and talkative character. One simply needs to "break the ice" before Ernie feels comfortable. Despite his apparent introversion, Ernie is no stranger to leadership. Most who know him well would often describe Ernie was a very diligent and persistent person. When Ernie sets to work on something, he spends an arduous amount of time to ensure the job is done right. To that effect, Ernie despises laziness and sees it as evidence of someone of weaker will. Worse are those too full of themselves to see the bigger picture, and dislikes anyone with more bark than bite.
