The world exists in a precarious balance - a struggle between the forces of Good and Evil. You have been part of a group of vigilantes sponsored in secret by William Braxton, a man who was a mentor to you, a man of great wealth and power, but also of great purpose. He was a hero who fought against the forces of Evil, never stepping into the light for thanks. He was one of the richest men on the planet.
William Braxton had secret departments, think tanks who worked on secret projects, sometimes clandestine equipment for the CIA and black ops groups in the government. You received the best training you could get from others. He turned you into living weapons similar to Black Widow, Hawkeye, Batman, etc but not necessarily with the darkness they endured.
For all intents and purposes, William Braxton was comparable to Howard Stark.
James Braxton
Now his legacy and massive fortune falls to his only son, James. James is incredibly gifted. Bright, young, athletic. He stands a solid 6’7”, built like his father. Played all sorts of sports. But he is also a spendthrift fool. He bought his own personal Batmobile. He hired Hans Zimmer to compose a symphony for his 21st birthday party. He does have his good points though. He donates to children’s charities. He is a patron of the sciences.
He is also known for engaging in skiing, surfing, and snowboarding. He is a card carrying member of the SCA. He is part of some roleplaying groups. He engages in Airsoft. He is a manchild. But at least you know the guy can swing a lightsaber.
Maybe he is a bit of a fool, a playboy - as much as a nerd can be. But he has a little potential. It is your impression that his father lost hope that his son would ever grow up and take responsibility. Now you suppose you will find out because it is up to you to try and help this guy grow up. He is in control of your funding, whether he knows it or not.
Now that his father has passed away, the bean counters are going to go through the records. If they discover that money has been getting siphoned away to cover your gear and expenses, it could soon be all over for your group.
I plan to run James Braxton.
Characters
The gear provided by Braxton would fall into the category of Spy Fi. Some of the older Batman type equipment would also be possible. As this is set into the near future (5-15 years), some of the gear from GI Joe would be possible. However, gear based on materials like adamantium, amazonite, kryptonite, etc will NOT be available. Please note:
I would like each character to be themed, not just a mish mash of gear. An aquatics specialist might have a mini sub.

Setting and Plot
The RP will be based in the NYC area. The region is like a cross between Metropolis and Gotham. At night it is very gothic, violent and gritty. While I have yet to watch the new Batman movie, I would imagine that it is very much like that.
Please note: Killing is to be avoided at all costs. The reason isn’t so much that the villains don’t deserve it. It is more to avoid having to fight the police as well. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get rough or strike fear into the hearts of the bad guys. In fact, that is the idea. William Braxton saw crime as a cancer.
With the death of William Braxton, securing the future of the crime fighting efforts of the group will be the new priority. James is going to become a target soon. His father made no secret of funding law enforcement. The villains haven’t considered what will happen when they strike fear into the heart of his son.
This is to be an RP that has two sides - the light hearted side of James’ life as the rich playboy … and the very dark underworld of crime. I already have some gangs in mind. (Yes, I am going to be looking for a little world building help.)
