"I'm pretty sure we've all gone to the bathroom already. Let's get this show on the road." Draugr replied to the pilot with an almost weary trepidation.
He had to admit though that their enthusiasm was beginning to hype him up as well. Even in a metal body he still felt that rising buzz of anticipation and adrenaline that always came just before touchdown. If he still had lips, they would have been twisted into a wolf-like smile.

Popping a Magazine into his Rifle and racking the bolt with a satisfying click-clack, Draugr examined his teammates one by one. These were people he was going to have to trust with his life down there.

The pilots just gave each other a look as the rather smart as answers from the titan pilots came in through the intercom. The co-pilot just shook his head and asked himself “Where does the Militia find these guys? I swear...”

The Pilot just began to power up the dropship, and began to clear the ship for departure with the Revenant. Thirty seconds later, the dropship lifted off and departed the dropship. A second dropship immediately departed the Revenant and followed the first dropship. About fifteen seconds after departure, the pilot opened a communication to the other dropship, and said, “Sending you the coordinates of the jump. Be aware, we will be jumping within close proximity of the planet’s atmosphere, be advised for the possibility of a strong gravitational pull.”

“Copy Bravo One, coordinates received. We’ll jump on your mark.”

The Co-pilot cleared his throat and made a small announcement to their pilots on the PA System. “We’ll be making the jump shortly. Be advised for a possibly rough entry.”

The Pilot entered in the final calculations, and spoke up, “Three... two... one... mark!”

The ship immediately jumped...

Taron glanced around the dropship's interior once more, whereas the other pilots it seemed were readying their rifles, he opted instead to take out his sidearm, checked the mag and chambered the first round, then he took an object from his belt, a silencer and affixed it to his pistols muzzle, he then sat down in readiness of the jump, his pistol resting under his palm, tapping his foot on the floor in anticipation.

A deep metallic voice echoed through his comm feed "self diagnostics complete, Kilo Lima-7760 operating at optimal capacity" it was his titan "I look forward to linking with you again pilot, we are stronger together" Taron smiled to himself, this titan was his oldest friend, whereas Taron was hot headed and often fool hardy, KL-7760 always knew how to make him compromise for the best possible mission outcome, something the other pilots may have to rely on should Taron's instinct get the better of him.

Taron just sat, straightened his back and closed his eyes as the ship jumped, he'd done jumps like this dozens of times before but no amount of experience of them could ever quite prepare him for the shift in gravity as the dropship approached the planet's atmosphere, his finger tapping the trigger guard of his pistol in anticipation of the order to drop.

Feeling the ship shudder to a halt, he opened his eyes wide behind his helmets visor, he leapt up from his seat, ignited his jumpkit and stood facing the dropship ramp, his free hand resting on the release pulley, he peered over his shoulder at the rest of the squad,
"Come on you lot!" He said, projecting his voice "look alive! It's nearly drop time!"

The ship exited its jump, and found itself on the border of Valinor III’s atmosphere. A few button presses later, the pilot spoke up and said, “Jump complete, coordinates confirmed. We’re entering the atmosphere.”

His co-pilot had his eyes on the radar and said, “Looks like we got through. No company on the radar quite yet.”

“Let’s just hope that scrambler is doing its job. Any word on our caboose?”

About a second later, there was some static in the comms of the dropship, and the second dropship pilot said, “Jump complete, slight inaccuracy in jump coordinates. Ten minutes out. Possibly longer. We gotta figure out how to get back to you without getting any attention from the IMC...”

“I bet the pilots will be giddy to know their Titan backup is slightly delayed...” the pilot muttered.

The co-pilot spoke into the PA of the dropship. “Bad news, boys and girls, your toys are on backorder. We’d wait for them, but we’re pushing our luck as it is with our undetected presence as it is. We’ll be at the landing zone in approximately three minutes.”

He then hung up the PA system and the pilot said, “Now we get to see if that intel Marcus has given us is worth anything or not.”

“The scout who picked up the signal reported the signal originating about fifteen clicks away from Site One. Tuning to its frequency...”

A few moments later, over a bunch of static white noise, there was indeed a series of blips being played in a sequence. “I guess that’s our target.” The pilot said, as he caught a glimpse of what his co-pilot had called Site One. A large mining operation by the IMC. Thankfully, they didn’t seem to notice the lone dropship out in the frigid weather, under cover from an incoming blizzard, but that didn’t stop the dropship from keeping its distance. The pilot just flew toward the signal, before he pointed out a strange area. “Think that might be the area that signal is coming from?”

Off in the distance was the remains of a large ship that had crashed in the ice. It looked like the remains of an old IMC or Militia Carrier ship, only time had not treated the downed ship well. It was covered in ice, and there didn’t seem to be anything living near it. But if there were any survivors here, this would likely be a good pace to start looking. The pilot nodded and said “Go ahead an let them know.”

“Okay pilots, we’re setting down nearby the remains of what appears to be an old carrier ship. The signal is still broadcasting about two clicks from here, but this might be a logical place to start looking. We’ll be setting down in about a minute. Get yourselves ready.”

"Oh you've gotta be kidding" Taron sounded exhaspirated, learning that his Titan would not be readily available upon disembarking "so you're seriously telling me we're going to be trekking there, in snow that's more than likely hip-deep with a blizzard that could arrive at any moment?" Taron liked challenging aspects to his deployments, but this was outright stupid "Had I known this was going to be the deal before we left the Revanent I'd have insisted we all go on a single dropship, titans, pilots and all"

He once again holstered his pistol and shouldered his SMG, checking the chamber before slamming a mag into the magwell "well I guess we're going with your plan Marvin" he said, releasing the safety switch on the side of his weapon before turning to face Draugr again "you and Wulfe walk point, Park and I will follow" he said in a neutral tone, then he immediately muttered "... at least that way I can keep and eye on you"

Wulfe tried to keep her nerve, which at the moment was tied between uneasiness from being in the dropahip, and anger for Taron constant aggression towards Drauger

‘Pilots...’ the dropship pilot thought to himself as he initiated a landing sequence. They could run on walls, take down a room of five people down, single-handedly, control some of the most coveted and most advanced war machines ever conceived by man, and when it came to cold weather, these guys were about as dainty as cats were to water. Go figure...

The Co-pilot pilot beckoned to a large hull breach in the downed ship’s exoskeleton, and said “The hangar bay should be roughly around there. That gap should be big enough for us to land in there, and hopefully stay out of the IMC’s sight.”

“Sounds like a plan.” The pilot replied, making a move for the gap.

The co-pilot picked up the PA unit again, and said, “We’ll be a ding in what should be the hangar bay of the downed carrier. Scans show no Lifesigns on the carrier, so at the very least, you probably won’t run into any grunts. Can’t say the same for other toys the IMC loves making, so watch your tails when you’re walking around. Touching down in approximately fifteen seconds...”

The pilot maneuvered into the ship, and sure enough, the remains of the old hangar bay lay before them. The crash had tossed the remains of dropships, tanks, other vehicles, and even titans all across the hangar, though there were signs of scavenging around. It was likely that all that was left behind was too damaged to use again. THe dropship came upon a clear area, and set down as gently as it could. Aside from the lights from the dropship, the hangar was completely dark.

A few seconds afterward, the pilot powered down the dropship and spoke into the PA. “Okay, boys and girls. This is our stop. Don’t take too long here, we still need to make our way to the actual distress beacon and shut it down. We’ll keep the ship warm for your return.”

A button press later, the dropship’s door opened up...

A button press later, the dropship’s door opened up...

Wulfe sprinted out of the dropship as soon as the door opened, then she breath in deep and sighed with relief. The cold didn't bother her much at the moment

She opened up a wrist computer and fidled around with it, switching her IFF tag to an IMC frequency, saved from her time in the IMC

She then quickly went through all her weapons and waited for the others

As the dropship ramp lowered, the freezing air of Valinor III swept in, the whole place was eerily dark save for the lights emitted from the dropship, Taron raised his SMG and flicked on it's flashlight attachment, "initial scans picked up no life signs, but you can never be too sure" he spoke his thoughts aloud, prepping himself mentally for any potential unseen assailants that lurked within the dark.

He strode down the ramp with a fair pace and onto the hangar floor, his feet sinking into around a foot of snow that had drifted in through the gaping breach in the ships hull, crunching with each step he took, he had his weapon raised so it's flashlight could penetrate the gloom and as he swept the area his eyes fell on a an intermittent light coming from beneath a heap of snow covered debris, he took a few steps toward it and brushed the snow away, to reveal that sitting within the ruined husk of what appeared to be an old Atlas Class Chassis was the titan's intact core, he stopped, glancing back at the other pilots "coast is clear" he said "might be worth having a look around, see if there's anything here that's useful" he gestured toward the titans core as it flickered with a weak blue glow "god knows we could use it, pilot" he said, directly addressing the dropship pilot "might want to notify the revanent, tell them to have a recovery crew on standby, seems there are a few things here worth salvaging" with that he refocused and trod with caution into the darkness of the hangar "and before anyone says anything, that core is mine" he said curtly across the comms.

Draugr gave a mocking salute to his Surly companion before rising from his seat and taking his place by the ramp. If letting the little hate filled goblin feel like he was in charge kept his mind on the mission then fine, Draugr would endure it. Besides, It wasn't a bad plan anyway considering he WAS built for support recon. Not having access to his Titan right away was also par for the course with him. Surma knew her business, a Trump card for when a stealthy infiltration failed. His joints and systems were cold weather resistant so the 'man' was effectively immune from it's effects. He liked to imagine however that he could almost feel the cold against the Metal of his body as he leapt past the ramp and landed into the snow, rifle at the ready.
It wouldn't be long until he reached Pilot Wulfes side.

"Pilot Wulfe." Draugr spoke, choosing not to comment on her IFF switch. If she was as smart as he thought she was, the chances of a Friendly fire incident would be small. "There appears to be a structural fissure above the Left Engine cluster, about twenty meters from the vessels spine. Scans suggest it would make for a good point of entry. Do you agree?"
The Carrier was MASSIVE to be sure, but with the pair's Grapple kit, together they should make it up to the top of the downed ship with ease.
By all Rights Draugr should be as hostile to the Ex-IMC pilot as Weaver was with him. He had lost more than most to the IMC and certainly did despise them with every bolt and wire in his body. However he also knew what it was like to be hated for what he was. Perhaps he felt a small sliver of sympathy for his comrades position?

Taron was unaware of Draugr's mock salute so focused was he on the task in hand, he waded through the foot or more deep snow, periodically stopping to remove snow and icicles from the debris he was inspecting.

Being a scavenger by nature, he'd found several items that could be made use of, a couple of intact titan weapons, several batteries, a case of 40mm cannon rounds and more besides, whoever had been here before hadn't done a very good job, he clambered up onto a gantry and shone his flashlight up into what was once a titan rack no doubt used to drop a titan from orbit, it's payload was nowhere to be seen however, perhaps it was in amongst all the wreckage that lay on the hangar floor, ruined and forgotten, maybe it made planetfall before this ship went down, maybe it had been scavenged by a previous opportunistic scrapper ... Taron could only wonder.

He walked along the gantry, every so often shining his light onto the hangar floor below, much of what was left was scrap, suitable only for melting down and being cast anew, but something caught Taron's eye.

He hopped down from his vantage point and trudged through the snow toward it and after stooping to clear the snow away and inspecting it he uttered to himself "Can't say I've ever seen something like this before"

"Hey Draugr" he said in a curious tone, cutting in on his conversation with Wulfe "you might want to raincheck your date and come have a look at this ... it looks just like you, but different ..." his voice trailed off, which for a motormouth like Taron, was highly unusual.

"That's a fair assessment Drauger, and right now I wouldn't mind getting away from that weirdo, whose more interested in scrap then the mission" she replied

"We got an ex IMC lapdog and a robot on this squad and I'm the weirdo" Taron said through a snigger, making no attempt to hide it "not to mention this is the mission, recon" he added, hefting the dead Simulacrum onto his shoulder and making a B-line back to the dropship "we're looking into who or indeed, what could've turned on that beacon, I'm willing to bet it's whoever did this" Taron reached the others and dropped it at their feet, landing in the snow with a dull thud "if it hadn't been for my scavenging we'd never have found it, look here" he turned the simulacrum over with his foot, crouched and pointed to what he'd found, a gaping hole in both it's head and torso "it's memory and power cores have been removed, and fairly recently I might add" Taron stated, standing up again "I've no idea where you two plan on heading, and I doubt you'll find anything but if you do, be sure to let me know" he turned on the spot and made off back into the hangar "should've just sent me" he muttered to himself "job'd be done by now"

"I highly doubt that, from what it looks like you'd be scavenging for days without completing the mission. Also I don't appreciate that lapdog comment, I'd like to see how you will get passed IMC ptrols while the rest of us just walk passed them." She stated and switch everyone else IFF tag to the IMC frequwncy she used, all except for Taron's IFF tag

Wulfe then grappled to the top of the support beam in the hanger then grappled to an alcove which gave her a vandtage over the hanger and allowed her to watch outside as well

"Your eyes deceive you Wulfe, I'm actually done scavenging here" Taron replied curtly "you may not appreciate the lapdog thing but it seems to ring true, real classy move leaving a squadmate hanging like that, not like I need that frequency anyway" at this point he broke into a swagger as he walked across the hangar "I've done my fair share of stealthy infiltration and recon without the need for little doodads like that to cover my ass" he added "now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go check the armoury and the workshop, you're welcome to join me, or do us both a favour, stay up there and out of the way ... in fact yes, do that" Taron disappeared out if the hangar and switched off his comms, leaving only the link to the dropship open.

(Exactly how does he know that she switched the IFF tags of the team? She didn't say anything and he doesnt have any software that detects things like that)

(A scavenger and tinkerer and you think he doesn't have anything to detect a change in frequency, plus he spotted Wulfe playing with the device on the way out of the dropship and when he dropped the dead Simulacrum, these questions are probably better asked in the OOC, or IC when the squad regroups)

Draugr watched silently as Squad cohesion deteriorated almost to nothing before his digital eyes.
'Draugr, I am detecti-'
'Yes Surma' He tersely replied. He could feel his Titans concern within the corners of his mind. "I am well aware of my own irritation, thank you."
'Shall I ki-'
"I am sorely tempted to say yes....So no.'
'Affirmative Pilot.'

Draugr had no intentions to babysit his fleshy allies so he felt no desire to get between their bickering. They were SUPPOSED to be elite Soldiers. Eventually perhaps they may begin to act like it.
In the meantime though, Draugr at least intended on carrying out the mission. Activating his cloak the Machine man disapeared from sight and began to make his way towards the Structural fissure he had mentioned before. With his enhanced Simulacrum body, Pilot jump kit and grapple hook, the journey up was rendered more time consuming than difficult.

The activity however did wonders giving Draugr something Besides his squadmates to concentrate on.

(I really don't want to start this without the creator, but i think at this point we really don't have a choice)

"Draugr, we have just a few more minitues before our titans land, do a quick scout and see if there is any hostile beyond our current sensor range, as soon as our titans get here I would like to get moving to the beacon" Wulfe stated over comm and looked out into the distance through the open hanger, ocasionaly looking through the scope on her DMR
